I'm not saying that the bourgeoisie is limited by the mode of production. I'm saying the politicians, the bureaucrats are limited by the mode of production. Marx said in the Civil War in France, "the working class cannot simply lay hold of the ready-made state machinery, and wield it for its own purposes". Socialists cannot use the capitalist state for its own purposes, and it can only pave the way to communism through the destruction of existing social forms, such as the army, police, bureaucracy, and judiciary.
The basic logic of capitalism has not changed. It has merely shifted onto a more higher level. Competition between different countries has developed from competition between different capitals, and that is the base in which political and military competition has emerged, what Marxists understand as imperialism. Political and military competition is how economic competition between different capitals appears as in the age of imperialism. This is what the Bolsheviks have understood about imperialism. I don't care what non-Marxists have to say on the subject, as they do not grasp the logic of capitalism.
You say that the development of capitalism in Europe was due to an internal class struggle while the development of capitalism outside was by external struggle, but this is an anti-Marxist position. From the second chapter of Capital: "The exchange of commodities, therefore, first begins on the boundaries of such communities, at their points of contact with other similar communities, or with members of the latter. So soon, however, as products once become commodities in the external relations of a community, they also, by reaction, become so in its internal intercourse." Capitalism in Europe induces capitalism within the rest of the world. By trading with other countries, it has set the seeds for the emergence of capitalism within other countries. There's no separation of the internal and external logic of countries. The internal class struggles in countries manifests in how it approaches other countries, and in turn, the external political pressures from other countries shapes how the internal struggles play out in the country. I do not say these countries are socialist. I said that the politicians who are elected may be socialists (not to say they have grasped Marxism). Even if the US magically decides that it will not interfere in the affairs of other countries, its pure economic presence on the world market would force these countries to pressure. Take the USSR for example. Its collapse occurred because of the internal class conflict within it, and the victory of "management" and nomenklatura (of course, the fact such tendencies existed proved the non-socialist nature of it). The Americans have been ahead of the Soviets militarily, and the Reagan administrations massive military build up resulted in even more allocation of resources to the military. The existing state of affairs was not stable, but the build up of the American military resulted in an increase in the budget of the Soviet military. When the inevitable political crisis occurred (reflecting the working class's discontent with the status quo), Gorbachev's choice to cut military spending plunged the Soviet economy into crisis. America did not have to apply any force at all to force the collapse of the Soviet Union, it just had to force and accelerate the internal struggles within the Soviet Union. The Gotha Program was a transitional program. In the Critique of the Gotha Program, M+E critiques how sloppy the program was. In both the Gotha Program and the CotGP, both put forward a transitional program. I have not denied the necessity of transition, only that the transition must be on a communist basis, not on a sloppily made basis not rooted in communist theory. M+E have updated their theories w.r.t new information, but this lead them to the conclusion of the smashing of the state machinery. In light of the experiences of the Bolsheviks, we can reaffirm the necessity of the international revolution and the repudiation of socialism in one country, simply from the fact that the USSR no longer exists.
The sheer hubris of western social democrats with no critique of imperialism when they talk as though the US working class is responsible for all the material wealth of this nation. Like, yeah, our own exploitation does enrich the bourgeoisie, but we very much have not produced all of their wealth. We’re not that industrious.

Fish of the Day
Today's fish of the day is a bit different from normal, instead of focusing on a particular species of genus we will be focusing on landlocked salmon today by special request of Topi!
(Atlantic Salmon)
Landlocked salmon are notable due to the inherent nature of the salmon life cycle, where salmon hatch in a freshwater stream, migrate to the ocean until they achieve sexual maturity, and then travel back to the same stream they hatched from. However, landlocked salmon are unable to migrate and spend their life cycles entirely in freshwater. The three main landlocked salmon would be The Kokanee salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka), which are a subspecies of sockeye salmon, the Formosan landlocked salmon (Oncorhynchus masou formosanus), which is a subspecies of masu salmon, and finally the several populations of landlocked Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar).
(Formosan landlocked salmon)
Landlocked salmon hold almost no differences to their sea run relatives, other than that which speciation provides. Almost always landlocked salmon are far smaller. Considering that salmon are mid level carnivores, whose diet shifts based on age, freshwater prey is just simply less available than marine prey is. Salmon fry survive off of zooplankton, which is available in large amounts in freshwater, but as they grow into juveniles who eat worms and larvae, but by the time they are of age to transition to the marine environment, they rely on larger prey, such as other fish or squid. This is why landlocked salmon are far smaller, and often considered a far blander flavor by fishers.
(Atlantic salmon)
Another difference between the anadromous (migratory) fish and the non migratory is based on the migration pathways themselves. Landlocked salmon species tend to spend their lives within lakes, as they tend to offer more large prey than rivers do, and when after reaching the end of their lifecycle, these fish tend to run rivers connected to lakes, searching for the same stream they were born in. Those salmon of which were transported or by some means found themselves the first generation of landlocked salmon tend to search only for a safe area, other salmon, and higher elevations during their migration. Of those salmon landlocked only in lakes with no connection to other bodies of water there is significant inbreeding, and disease often tends to kill these populations out. It is thought that salmon of which are acclimated to freshwater and intentionally landlocked have a higher chance of surviving after spawning season, as some salmon species possess the ability to survive the spawning, and return to the ocean for another year. This is something that is not fully understood, and currently being researched by many of the fish hatcheries along the Columbia river, major rivers in California, and along the Atlantic. We may understand the relation between the stresses of moving from saltwater to freshwater better in the future!
(kokanee salmon)
To focus on the landlocked variations of Atlantic salmon for a moment, these are individual populations caught in the many lakes or river systems along the Eastern coast of the United States and Canada. These fish in particular are known as some of the best for fishing in the areas they live in. These fish can be found in a range from the Atlantic coast all the way as Western as Lake Eerie in some cases, living in cold water conditions, with growth being the highest at temperatures of 67-77 degrees fahrenheit, and a diet that is mostly made up of insects and small fish, often cannibalizing other young landlocked salmon.
(Atlantic landlocked Salmon)
The kokanee salmon is found along the Pacific coast, in many different lakes from Alaska to California, and as far East as Idaho, and in some rare cases, Nevada. There are also populations within lakes in Japan and Russia, although there is debate on the subject of speciation for these populations. Although some populations of kaknee have been intentionally introduced across lakes and freshwater systems much further East in the United States. Thes fish can get as large as 8-20 inches, and have a handful of morphological differences between them and sockeyes. Kokanee have a higher number of gill rakers, smaller egg size, and a higher efficiency rate in taking in red coloring from food sources to distribute in their eggs. They can live a lifespan around 4 years before spawning and passing away, as these fish do not survive after breeding, and can not interbreed with sockeye salmon.
(kokanee salmon)
The Formosan landlocked salmon, also called the Cherry salmon, is found in Taiwan. Living in the Lishan mountain range, these fish survive in cold water at extremely high altitudes, with an upper temperature limit of 60 degrees. These fish are thought to have become landlocked by the warming of the Dajia River during the last ice age. They live along the many small creeks and backwater streams, with an extremely endangered population with only around 4,000 living at any given time. Cherry salmon are exceptionally small, reaching only 30cm (around a foot) with most around only 6 inches in their adult life. Subsisting off of bugs and small terrestrial life that gets close to the water. These fish survive only around 4 to 5 years before breeding in higher colder waters, and passing away for their fry to replace them.
(Formosan landlocked salmon)
Those are the landlocked Salmon everybody! Have a wonderful day

My goal was to be off tumblr for a year but girl I just saw the most absolutely rancid take and needed to tell someone. I saw someone in a youtube comment section (I know, I know) genuinely argue that 4B is insufficiently intersectional because if men aren't having consensual sex, they'll go out and rape more, and since woc, queer women, disabled women, etc experience disproportionate rates of sexual violence, it'll be them getting raped probably, so going 4B is actually sentencing less privileged women to be raped. I genuinely think my brain is broken from that. "If you don't have sex with a man it's your fault if he rapes another woman" is one of the most insane things I've ever seen someone try to spin as leftist and that is fucking saying something. Like I could sit here and list all the reasons that's wrong but. Oh my god.
They started off their insane essay with this: "I heard a good point, and someone described this as taking a toy from a petulant child. (The toy being seggs, not women). If the child isn’t made to understand why the toy was taken away, they will continue to keep saying how unfair you’re being. And they might just steal a new toy from someone else if they don’t get their way." I LOVE how predatory men are children that have to be handled gently and delicately and have it explained to them with a little Blue's Clues song why they aren't getting laid, and if you don't do that you're responsible for their actions. Men are adults! Men CHOOSE to rape women! Why are we blaming women for men's actions! Why are we doing that and CALLING IT FEMINIST??? Like I thought we agreed that men don't rape due to a lack of consensual sex, they rape because they like having and exerting power over people? I thought that was like, one of the basic things we talked about in rape culture 101?
Jesus fucking Christ. I know that person sat back after writing their dissertation so satisfied with themselves for being One Of The Good Feminists, intersectional and socially aware and apologetic of their privilege, not one of those evil radfems who think men should be held responsible for their actions.
Anyways sorry for subjecting you to this but it actually broke my brain in half and I needed someone else to suffer with me.
omg first of all hey girl its been a while! good to hear from you even if it’s in this shitty scenario!
and yeah, what a rancid, yet not unexpected take. blaming women for men’s actions is like. classic misogyny. like i am a certified misandrist but even i don’t believe that the majority of men will go out and rape random women just because they’re constantly rejected. and even if they would it is NOT the duty of any woman to give a man sex that she doesn’t want to give, just to protect hypothetical other women. that’s such a shitty guilt trip. in that situation it would be a category 5 KAM moment, if giving in to sex was the only thing we could do to prevent rape.

we live in a mono-normative society. polynormativity does not and can not exist. this is a very personal subject and i will not answer insensitive asks about it.
#i recieved an anon. it may be well intentioned but i do not feel comfortable sharing my whole self with the person who sent it#due to their understanding of the subject.#i will not open a conversation about this on my blog#it does not feel safe for me to talk that in depth about polyamory and relationship anarchy on this platform.#this blog functions in my life as a place to safely be silly with friends and will continue to do so.#jam posts#jam replies#anon#EDITING TO SAY. this isn't about emma's ask! it's about an ask i got

#its not my fave fave color but i love love love slate blue....#i enjoy many blues mostly leaning toward green than purple...i dont enjoy purple#i think this blue fits talon but i dont want him to be So Me so he likes the more purple blues mainly#(in my doodle pages slate blue is usually just grey but the bg color makes it look more blue)#i still love how it looks as a grey blue#a doodley#i think he'd like it darker of course but making it darker on this page just makes it more evident that its just grey LOL looks less blue#''is dressed'' because al and smunker have to sort of build his wardrobe for him#as well as actually physically dress him a lot of the time due to the health issues#thje exception to it all is he really does love wearing big t shirt and nothing else (at home)#in all forms (furry or not)#BECAUSE it makes him feel cold but in that tingly way where u can curl up in bed and wiggle around to get warm.#do u understand me. i love doing this like when its cool in my room at night + remove an article of clothing#so that it feels MORE cool and I get to really appreciate warming up under the covers#anyway all subject to change of course. lots of talon details still elude me i cant fully crack him at all

kinda frustrating how we've spent the last few months acknowledging how a lot of well intentioned but guilt trippy social justice posts are like specifically designed to worm into ocd ppls brains and then now every single post abt palestine is "i dont care how bad your mental health is, i dont care how bad looking at all this makes you feel, if you don't read every single post you see on this topic in full you are a horrible person and directly contributing to their deaths. 'waaaah my mental health' well at least youre not being bombed, did you think about that??" and its like. i absolutely get where youre coming from but you dont get to complain that guilt tripping is bad then turn around and use it anyways because you think the cause youre using it for is worthwhile. like. everyone thinks the cause theyre using it for is worthwhile, thats why theyre using it. but its still a shit way to do it
#like when you make a tumblr post to your tumblr blog youre not guilt tripping people who disagree with you#youre guilt tripping your followers who if theyre still following you probably already agree with what youre saying#and esp on a topic with so much brutality involved like. yeah OBVIOUSLY theres people who have to look away#like. yall know a bunch of these posts and articles and videos show graphic injuries in them right?#like i physically cant watch news videos abt this bc i will spend days with my brain making me imagine#peoples deaths in graphic detail specifically because it knows that will upset me. and i would prefer not to do that#in fact me doing that helps palestinians exactly as much as finishing my brussel sprouts helps starving kids#by which i mean none. its just a cheap guilt trip to get you to do something you don't want to#which when it's brussel sprouts thats whatever but when its 'deliberately expose yourself to extremely triggering#things otherwise youre a bad person'. not so much#idk i feel like maybe its due to ppl feeling. agitated abt not being able to do anything abt it#like the government isnt listening and we're a world away so physically /all/ we can do really is sit and watch#so i can understand a) wanting to find someone to lash out at to alleviate that feeling#like if you cant stop the actual problem at the very least you can shout down the people supporting it right?#and b) seeing 'not watching' or even just 'not watching as closely as i am' as a transgression#bc well its all we can do so if youre not even doing that you must be bad#and its like. i really do get it. but the whole world is watching right now‚ like this is THE big news thing happening rn#so a few people choosing to avoid to subject will not make a single iota of difference#idk. i guess what im saying is if youre feeling the urge to yell at someone for not looking close enough#just donate some money to a support fund instead itll do a lot more

i think some ppl are using autistic literal think as a shield to dismiss the fact that they have zero want to read things as contextual or learn how things connect, especially in stuff like art
we all know its hard to "read in between the lines" and interpret tone and stuff with that, but why do people post like autism stops them from recognizing patterns. The fucking pattern recognizing disorder.
#not getting jokes is not the same as not understanding context clues#a book is not ment to be by rules interpreted one way or you're wrong#i mean im autsitic and i understand the feeling of being beckoned to veiw it either one way or the other#but i think challenging that feeling thru art being subjective and allowing the curtains to mean many things at once#or maybe assume something due to your own feelings instead of being told what it is or not#is actually good for you . like really really good for you#big loud honking

Why does Alan force me to debate whether or not entire populations of the human population "have souls" or "are evil" by nature?
Why is every conversation with our father lately a damn debate? I do not enjoy debating the existence or "inherent morality" of minority groups.
#☆ f i c t i o n (thon)#this time he and i argued over if people with narcissistic personality disorder are evil or not#he said something to the effect that they are soulless because they cannot understand the emotions of others#...hello? we also cannot tell the emotions of others due to our autism?#anyway narcissistic personality disorder does not make a person evil and i cannot believe we had to agree to disagree on this subject#alan why are you even talking about souls? you are an aggressively anti-theistic atheist?#ableism#ask to tag

aight im just gonna say it. some folks really gotta stop treating nishikiryu like they’re actually related and considering anyone who’s so much as Okay with them as a pairing of being incest apologists. like. that’s a legitimately fucked up and serious thing to accuse someone of just because of your view of two factually unrelated fictional characters.
#like. i really don’t like yumi being a love interest for kiryu and think she’d be best as a sister figure to him#a dynamic which could’ve formed while growing up alongside him at sunflower. that absolutely does not mean I would start blocking#and shittalking people for being ‘incest shippers’ as if I have the mora high ground and self righteousness to do so#it is really not different. only difference is the use of the word kyodai. which is an honorary title and not inherently synonymous with#viewing someone as your Actual Literal Sibling.#like just. chill the fuck out.#throwing that kinda accusation around is honestly no better than someone throwing around terms like ‘abuser’ or ‘gaslighting’#over subjective and unserious situations#no one is asking you to change your view of them. no one’s asking you to like them as a pairing. just say you don’t see it that way and move#on. not everything is a moral issue where someone needs to be condemned for something.#tldr: don’t be an asshole#this reminds me of the post that’s like. hey sometimes it’s okay to just say you don’t like someone/something without trying to prove#that disliking it is the Morally Correct thing to do.#like for real dude.#anyway might delete this later or simplify it becuase I have honestly been scared to say anything about this for a long time#due to seemingly the majority of people considering this a highly controversial hot button issue#also sure blocking people is an option but. if you like someone/most of someone’s content and just don’t like a certain pairing or topic or#whatever that they’ll reblog on occasion you can also just. block the tag. unless they don’t tag their shit then it’s more understandable#but i most certainly do and I appreciate when other people do the same because I have one major pairing tag in this fandom blocked because#of how much i don’t like it and plenty of people I follow post this pairing occasionally and shockingly it does not bother me. because#of the ability to filter via tags. it’s really not hard#anyway yeah sorry. let’s see how fast I delete this cause boy am I scared of getting eaten alive for this Apparently Hot Take#rambling#edit: also just wanna note that this isn’t even my main/favorite pairing or anything. im not a diehard nishikiryu guy#im a diehard kazumaji guy though for sure. but I have a strong opinion on the topic because. like I said. the gravity of people’s#accusations is beyond Not Okay

"Missspelling names is considered rude, so I think it's rude to do so when you dont want hate posts about said character in their dedicated tag" This is why fandom sucks ass at tagging their shit
#do you think its a good for a fandom look to open a tag of a character or ship#and be bombarded by negativity#we're not talking about one or two outliers#but several posts after another#do you think thats reasonable#to subject newcomers to this who will (correctly) deduce it's a toxic place#do you really#i hope your favourite character gets mischaracterised by a popular fanfic#that warps fanon so much they draw the ire of the whole fandom for crimes they didnt commit#and a live action that diverges so much from the source#but got so popular that it clutters the tags due to people double tagging both media#and people mixing up events from both sources up all the time#then maybe youll understand

My geology class is the most chaotic class I've done so far. There's no pattern to the labs and quizzes we do, they're all random and there's no warning of when there will be one or when it is due. Every week in the moodle are like 8-12 videos/articles/documents to look at but there's always a couple of them that aren't for this class at all and I have no idea why they're there. I can't even figure out what the main point is we're supposed to be learning each week. There's a textbook but he never tells us what we're supposed to be reading from it and it looks like not even a real textbook but like its random geology rambling written by some guy.
#good thing I'm aroace because that teacher is very handsome by conventional beauty standards#good thing this is a subject I'm already very knowledgeable in due to special interests because I'm sure not learning much from this class#From what I understand#this 103 class is 203 class watered down and we get all the leftovers and not much attention#I hope the rest of college/university isn't like this because this sucks

tbh the only reason why I'm not skipping every math lesson and actually giving it ago is bc I know Alan Turing would be disappointed
#jinx's hijinks#but fr why couldnt i get the good at math neurodivergency#like i feel so stupid because my primary school fucked me over in every aspect#i missed out on so many key parts of my learning due to so many factors#all my classmates hated me and i spent so much time just out of class#my school didnt give me any accommodations because i hadnt been flagged as neurodivergent#even tho i was very clearly neurodivergent#i had to leave so many lessons because i would cry uncontrollably or hide under desks because i didnt want to be around anyone#i found it so hard to pay attention to anything that didnt interest me and it effected me so badly#i dont know my times tables because i wasnt taught in a way we could understand#everyone around me understood but me and i was left to fall behind because they cared more about extending other kids further#than helping the kids who were struggling#and i know my school was like this because i excelled in other subjects and watched other kids fall behind because they struggled#anyways can education systems care more about oids who fall behind because it so quickly can fuck up the rest of their schooling#and make it so much harder for them

I can never stop scrutinizing every post, comment, or discussion about these topics and wondering if it is about the normalization of neurodivergence and people living with mental illnesses (i.e. "This is also one of the many kinds of human experience"), or if it's just pathologizing human behaviors.
I really detest the latter. It's a personal principle to avoid this pitfall.
However, even this habit is scrutinized on its own. Because you're necessarily playing around with ideas about maladies, sicknesses, and "unhealthiness." When I say, "hold on, this might sound like pathologization," am I genuinely thinking this person is dehumanizing themself, or am I just expressing internalized ableism in the vein of "don't call yourself sick! Sick is a word for the weak! The weak-willed!"?
That is why I'm glad OP added an example to the reblog!
And I'm sure there are many other ways to not pathologize oneself while trying to normalize experiences historically marginalized by the so-called "normal, healthy default." I kinda wanna see what example others/friends can come up with to avoid self-pathologization.
Sick list of symptoms bro. Now try humanizing your behavior instead of pathologizing it.
#Me、personally? I usually don't mention the supposed medical term straight away when I'm discussing my mode of experience#(despite being a science nerd who easily rambles about tHe cOgNiTvE sCIEnCeS ahahhaha).#I just describe what it's like as if I have no idea what the clinical terms or symptoms are.#I also work really hard to be aware of my state of mind just so I can give people heads-up if it's getting tougher to rein myself in.#That way I don't have to withdraw from interacting with them despite it—because they are aware.#And if I fail to maintain composure (yo it does happen、 annoyingly enough、despite my goddamn effort) and snap?#When I explain my behavior once I've calmed down later、 it won't sound like some “bullshit excuse” conjured#to repair my image after hurting that person.#Having been subjected to way too many people's meltdowns (due to mental disorders/neurodivergence/good old neurotypicality)#I really don't want to force other people into my spot if I were the one losing control、 man#Which actually brings back to why I detest pathologization. Huh.#It's just a handy way of shutting down communication innit? “I'm sick okay? I have symptoms ABCDE#You don't understand shit you healthy son of a bitch!”#How do you expect me to know how to accomodate you if you describe your experience like it's a terminal sickness with such *finality* that#it's as if it's impossible to carve out a middle way?#surely that is as far away from normalization as it can possibly get.
