Yuki answers the question of whether he wants Daniel or Liam as his teammate
“No comments, but I’d say I’ve learnt a lot of things from Daniel. He’s probably one of the formula one drivers I respect the most. He’s very consistent [even after a bad race]. He never shows his frustration. He’s able to separate his mind. I’ve learnt a lot of things from Daniel.”

I need everyone upset about Liam's promotion to understand that it had nothing to do with him being better/worse than Yuki. Yuki outperformed him. Yuki deserved the chance. BUT Yuki is not a Redbull driver. He is a Honda driver. He has no loyalty to Redbull and that is why he did not get a chance next to Max. It's not that he didn't deserve it. It's pure business.
Redbull are ending their relationship with Honda. They are creating their own engines. It's likely seen as a big liability to Redbull to have Yuki actively involved in any tests or even near anything involving the 2026 engine.
This is not an attack on Yuki or his character or anything like that, so please do not take it that way. But, Yuki's loyalty to a different engine manufacturer is a major risk to any new manufacturer like the Ford/Redbull powertrain. You just never know. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a good drive, but Yuki's loyalty will forever be to Honda (as it should) and that poses a lot of risks for Redbull.
Once again, I am not commenting on Yuki's character or making assumptions about him when I say this, but there are a lot of big concerns if he gets promoted. He could ditch them for Aston immediately because Honda asks, he could share information about the new engine to Honda, or he could give questionable feedback that negatively impacts the new powertrain. Maybe he wouldn't do these things. But if there's even the most miniscule potential that he could, it would make any team hesitant. F1 is rampant with cheating allegations and questionable tactics to win. The teams will want to protect themselves in any eventuality. And that is what's working against Yuki so greatly.
Yuki has proven to be a very competent driver over the past year, but let's not forget that he nearly lost his seat in 2023 and the rumored reason he stayed is due to Honda. He owes his career to Honda, not Redbull. And at the end of the day, that's his main flaw within this team. It's not his driving. It's not his temper. It's not anything else. It's purely who he is aligned to poltically in the racing world. Is that fair? No. Is that how racing works? Unfortunately, yes.

stupid fucking bastard. i am not coping with the leaks
#dead leaf for leafpool and gull feathers for feathertail#like yeah it's funny that cherith does whatever the hell she wants as soon as she's in the driver's seat#but it's also baffling and frustrating that she wanted this in the first place#crowfeather or at least the version of him in my head is a fun and interesting character because he's shitty#in the newer books there's been a weird attitude toward him where the other characters think he's irritable but also noble and attractive#also tawnypelt is such a nothing character it's upsetting that all she's ever been is an accessory to the men around her#her father her brother her mate her son her grandson(s)#and her pov is no longer merely boring but actually insufferable thanks to her poorly handled “kids these days” plots#if it were up to me#the new prophecy would focus more on tawnypelt feeling out of place in shadowclan and struggling to prove her loyalty#contrasting brambleclaw who is generally accepted in thunderclan but victimizes himself due to his insecurity#i would also explore how tawnypelt and rowanclaw get together since he hates her in one scene and then they're lovey dovey in the next#although this does seem to be the basis of many warriors relationships#i'm not sure how i feel about tawnypelt getting a second mate as an elder but i don't want to begrudge old people finding love again#so i'm fine with it as long as it's not crowfeather#as for crowfeather#he would fall hard and fast for feathertail because she's pretty and shows him kindness but i want it to be one-sided#then he would fall hard and fast for leafpool for the same reasons#she runs away with him not because she loves him but because clan society is suffocating and she needs an escape#so when they get back to the clans she moves on pretty quickly but he lives a long and miserable life pining after her#his clanmates quietly avoid him because they don't like him that much because why would they and so he never becomes deputy#i can see him trying to reconnect with breezepelt and nightcloud as an elder#not necessarily because he realizes how shitty he is but because he wants a relationship with his granddaughters but it's strained#and then he dies! i'm tired of writing and being frustrated by these stupid books so i'm ending it here#crowfeather#warrior cats#eel art#eel talk

the thing that bothers me most about the whole McLaren team orders thing and just the management in general, is that i wish they would just own up to it. like admit that you prioritize one driver over the other, that you have a clear first and second driver system and call it a fucking day. they wouldn't be the first or the last team to operate like that. there's absolutely no need to put on this show of having two number one drivers and they have the strongest driver line up on the grid when you actively show that you prioritize one over the other.
they've spent all of winter break being like oh, yeah our drivers will start with clean slates and we will give them equal chance and opportunity to win, but then first race comes around and they hold one of them back. and they always hide behind strategy and excuses and half of the time it does not make sense.
this is not even directed towards Lando, cause i get it in a way, he's been there since 2019, he's more experienced, i get why they'd choose him. but then choose him. like stand in front of the press and have the guts to say that, yes, although we have two amazing drivers, we are going to hold one of them back, because we prefer the other one. that simple.
i'm so tired of this forced narrative, that they're paying attention to both of them, cause when push comes to shove and race weekend is here, 90% of the time only one of them gets the preferential treatment and it's not Oscar. and sure, call me bitter and biased, but it is so unfair. and it's a shit situation for both of them to be honest and McLaren can brag about having one of the strongest driver line ups on the current grid all they want if they do not know how to manage them and maximize their performance. they're wasting both of their talents away and ultimately i will not be surprised if that will cost one of them the championship.

Disappointed to see both Lando and Oscar getting blamed and a bunch of hate when they both haven’t done anything wrong 💔
I love supporting both of them but today is one of those days you just have to close social media and disconnect. I hope the boys are able to do the same

on another note: toto should burn in hell for bringing what lewis said about max to fuckass netflix. and also i am sick of the narrative that lewis does not like competitive teammates when he has had more competitive teammates than anyone on and off the grid. if your blorbo is notoriously known for never having competitive teammates or has never had a competitive(and good) teammate then you should shut your mouth on someone who had alonso button rosberg as teammates in their primes. there were literally gossip of anthony hamilton talking to rbr for a seat change in 2023 in what world would lewis be scared of anything.

I think people aren’t really grasping why Oscar fans are disappointed in McLaren’s strategy. It’s not about the team sabotaging Oscar, secretly wanting Lando to be their number 1 driver, unfair treatment or whatever. It’s about the inconsistency.
Look at Australia, Lando is in front, Oscar 2nd, and they’re told to hold position to avoid any risk of losing their 1-2 and not maximizing points. Fair. In China, Oscar is in front, Lando 2nd, and they’re told to wait until they’ve built a gap to George before fighting, to avoid any risk of losing their 1-2 and not maximizing points. Also fair, and consistent.
Now in Japan, Lando is in 2nd and Oscar in 3rd, with seemingly faster pace. Lando hasn’t made a dent in the gap to Max, but Oscar has on Lando and a swap could help him keep enough tires to maybe have a shot at Max. And this time they’re not prioritizing maximizing the points and giving the faster driver a chance of getting a 1-3 instead of the 2-3? Now there aren’t team orders, when there is an actual potential to gain more points than in the positions they started in?
Honestly, I’m an advocate for no team orders and letting drivers fight for positions at all times. However, seeing how McLaren have set the scene in Australia and China, prioritizing maximizing the team points, it’s just extremely frustrating to not follow this mantra this time around. Was the swap likely to work? No. But did they have anything to lose trying? Also no, Lando wasn’t doing anything, Oscar had some pace, maybe a McLaren within the DRS of the RedBull would’ve been able to overtake, being different cars with different levels of performance throughout the track. At worst they swap back, and at least they’ve tried something to maximize the points.
It’s not even like the swap is some sort of novel, unheard of idea. McLaren themselves put a swap in place in Australia 2024, when Lando was behind Oscar despite being faster. To give Lando the best shot at catching the cars in front, they asked Oscar to let him by so he wouldn’t waste his tires on overtaking a slower teammate. Because instead of finishing 3-4 they had a shot at letting Lando go up to the Ferraris and maybe turn the race result into a 2-4. At the end of the day he didn’t catch the Ferraris, but that doesn’t matter because they had nothing to lose at that point and it was worth swapping to try and gain as many points as possible.
In Japan 2025, it was a win on the line. Against their main wdc rival. I cannot comprehend for the life of me how a team whose priority is maximizing the team’s points would not deem the swap worth a go. If Oscar doesn’t get Max, they swap back, and nothing has changed from their initial position. If Oscar does get Max, they put 7 more points on the board for the wcc, and Lando only loses 3 points to Max instead of 7 in the wdc (whilst also bringing Oscar back into the fight). There is literally no bad outcome, so if they’re gonna make us endure team orders this season, they may as well do it correctly and consistently.

One of them says “in the heat of the moment we were disappointed with each other”
The other says “the biggest problem was involving the media”
Here’s the thing. I believe 100% that there was never any serious beef and that the two talked it out and made up on the plane.
I should really let this go, but even now it seems unfair that the one who blew it up in media gets to say “it wasn’t that deep”, meanwhile the one whose home race and career was insulted is the one who points out the problem was talking to the media in the first place. A problem that has still gone unrecognised in Charles’ comments
I said this last week but I’ll say it again. It’s not fair:
The insults were public. But the apology was only private.
