Once again I am thinking about how Javert should absolutely be included in the musical's finale. I know some smaller productions have done this, but the bigger ones need to step their game up. I mean, if goddamn Britain's Got Talent can get Javert singing in the finale, so should every other show, too!

Not having him there just goes so against the theme of redemption. Oh, Javert doesn't go heaven? I guess people can't change, after all. Oh, suicide is a sin that people go to hell for? (I think 5 and 1 are my favorite of the past episodes, though 6 infected me with the Shroud brainrot something fierce.) I just...ESPECIALLY love diasomnia. :') but there is room in my heart for all of these dweebs! like, who among us is not just as ride-or-die for Adeuce as they are for us.

that said, I don't really follow the other adaptations like the manga (aside from a dip-in just to see the new Yuus) or the novels, though I keep meaning to check them out! I do like seeing the differences between the different forms of media, and how certain things get adapted one way or another! but alas, time/a lack of accessibility stands in our way more often than not. :( someday...someday I will have time to consume all of the media...

My main hobby is just procrastinating in any way I can. The plan was to make a cup of coffee and then start working. What actually happened is that I watched a 3 part video series (by james hoffmann ofc) on Aeropress coffee and made a few cups with different variables. Still not sure if I found The Recipe for me, but it’s getting better (tho I don’t love the coffee beans I have)

I really wish more female teachers would understand that there are going to be boys in their classes. Boys are going to feel alienated if they walk into class and see fluffy, pink, Pinterest-perfect decor and furniture all over the room. Nikke: Goddess of Victory event Beauty Full Shot minigame spoilers: (LONG POST)

So yesterday, I managed to catch the last couple fish in the fishing minigame!!

I'm surprised there wasn't the great white shark?? I guess that's just gonna happen in the story instead? Unless it's like a 1 in a million chance of getting it in secret or something? But the fucking whale lmao, that mf was SO HARD to get.

In general, it was super fucking hard to catch them all, but I really grinded for the first couple days to keep getting all the fishing rods (the blue one at the max 60k price level is the best for catching the large fish because it does the most damage), and then all the equipment, too.

Hot tip: Don't bother with the red puddles until you've gotten the highest fishing rod and practised on the blue and gold puddles (unless you're already like a god at rhythm games, but I'm sure NOT especially on a touch screen).

OH also, I don't think the game explained it, but the casting animation before the rhythm game is for choosing which size of fish you want to get, NOT for the starting percentage of the rhythm game. (I mean, yeah it affects the percentage, but ALL blue catches start at like 50%. All of the legendary ones start at 80% regardless of the fishing rod or equipment.) Took me a while to notice that and I would've saved myself a lot of attempts if I'd have just aimed for the easy blue section on the meter in the beginning (I was clicking the gold one every time and suffering because it went too fast every time, and was confused why gold wasn't giving me an easier starting percentage).

You can see how much I've been playing the game compared with everyone else. It's fucking addicting and I gotta catch 'em all. Almost at 1mil earned lol.

The fucking Spongebob easter eggs were hilarious. I caught Spongebob and didn't realize that's who it was supposed to be until I caught Patrick next. RIP Sandy.

Anyway, yeah, that's my post. Just wanted to share bc I love Nikke and the event and the mini games. I even went and got the Dave the Diver full game on PC bc I'm OBSESSED with the Aegis minigame and it's so chill and cool from the few minutes I played (just got it so haven't had time to do more yet). It was also on sale! (Probably still on sale?)

So yeah. Really loving this event, they really went all out. OH and the music, too? Love it.

watched Hereditary! was very into it until the last 10 minutes or so which i thought ruined it entirely, lmao. i respect it, i get what he was going for, i just don't like it

there's a bit in a high-school english class where they're talking about greek tragedies (as is tradition lol) and the teacher asks the class "is it more tragic if he had a choice in averting his fate or if he was always a doomed pawn from the start?" and one of the students responds "it's worse if he was doomed from the start" and i just hard disagree with that as a storytelling philosophy

i'm down for doomed relationships, doomed cycles of abuse, etc, "there was no path forward that lead to a happy ending" can be tragic and interesting. but the whole movie has the vibe that not a single one of the characters has an ounce of agency, which tends to make me check out. hell i think it significantly lessens the impact of the inciting incident- which is a shame because that whole sequence was excellent, i felt it viscerally until i literally shivered

the craftsmanship is really excellent and the family scenes were incredible works of art at getting you to Feel Things in a very raw way. it accomplished that even better than Midsommar- but i liked Midsommar's ending a lot better, so it's maybe a wash

...also i'm very uncomfortable with how they portrayed the little girl with mental disabilities (that are actually symptoms of her being Demonic) by casting an actress with facial deformities that aren't associated with mental disabilities. there are several shots of her doing something sociopathic and then really zooming in on her nose. i feel like they knew that casting someone with down's etc was obviously in poor taste, but this isn't like, better? just more disguised?
