Cosette loved the sound of her father’s laugh. It wrinkled his face into a picture of happiness that hadn’t always been available to him, and she hoped she would never forget this rare sight.

The source of that warm sound was, however, surprising. Her father had always been tense and curt around Monsieur Javert, so their rather intimate familiarity was startling. And yet it filled Cosette with ease to know that her father could shower someone else with his affection now that she was a married woman and not by his side anymore.

His love could be overbearing at times.

Post Seine where Cosette was trying to figure out what's going on between her Papa and the Inspector cuz they're living together and, well, she wanted her father to know that she's supportive of their relationship so she's trying to figure out if it's a pining situation or an established relationship

Cosette: hmmmmm you know it's kinda cute that you're, like, living together rn. WAIT PAPA STOP LOOKING AWAY WHY ARE YOU BLUSHING

I think a lot about the folkloric story that Victor Hugo describes (or invents) in Les Mis, that uses dogs/wolves as a metaphor for that way that Inspector Javert betrays his own social class. It feels very fairytale-like, so here’s a Lotte-Reiniger style adaptation. Many thoughts, many emotions. I may animate this eventually. (And thanks to @valvertweek for the motivation!)

Finally time to share Fem Valvert! I tried figuring out how it would work in the canon era, especially the aspect of the story that happen in a prison where it would be very unlikely for Fem Valjean to hide her gender. I didn't really come to a good conclusion, please tell me your ideas I love their fem versions T^T
