I am so so happy that lucanis' sensible neutral toned knitted sweater beneath his brooding hotboy black leathers turned out to be exactly the design cue crucial to understanding the actual nature of his character and personality that I took it for the first time we saw his default look fhsdkj. I continue to be enchanted by this detail in particular. it really does say it all

Consider:

Leo Valdez was not born. Instead, two pairs of hands form him from bronze and steel and gold. His hair is copper wires so thin they bounce like natural curls, and his eyes glimmer with silver flakes. The joints of his body are plated so delicately, so perfectly, the segments are near indiscernible, smoothly gliding over each other. Faint traces of fingerprints and flecks of impurity are deliberately left behind for their uniqueness, a form of impossible signature of his creators.

Most importantly, gilded bars curl around each other in his chest, protecting the red-red-red flame that pushes his eyes open everyday, that beats in tune with his thoughts, that heats his body to expand and grow.

A metal child is not so different from a human one, and yet is so far from it at the same time. He is curious, about the world, about himself, and he picks apart toys and TV remotes and his arms, spilling their secrets before his constantly shifting eyes. He does not cry from fatigue or thirst or hunger, but a bump, a dent, a scratch never fail to draw tears. He splashes in the rain and snow, carefully bundled in waterproof coats and jackets, and runs from baths like he's possessed, fire flickering in fear.

The first time he meets someone like him, an endeavour he had long thought hopeless, it is a malfunctioning dragon others call for the death of; he is too unpredictable, too dangerous, too broken. Leo looks him in ever-shifting eyes glimmering with silver and sees himself if the cage in his chest ever bends, cracks, shatters, if the gears beneath his skin ever jam and stick and wear down irreversibly.

It is not golden flowers and godly aid that preserve him; just as he'd done for his twin-in-all-but-appearance, he creates a new body, with new fingerprints and impurities mapping his design. His hair is more bronze than copper, now, and his eyes more gold than brass. The plates of his joints scrape against each other faintly, and the gears of his bones grind together uncomfortably — he only had so much time, so much material to use, he could not polish every element of himself in the way he wished, but it holds together.

Most importantly, he reinforces the cage in his chest, coats it in layers upon layers of metal, to ensure his flame will not go out in the explosion, that Festus will be able to salvage it and lay it gently in the chest cavity carefully carved in his new body, bringing it to life.

He returns to Camp, movements more clunky and mechanical than should be, and his siblings finally pin down his segmented limbs, his shifting eyes, his clicking fidgeting. They are ecstatic, just as fascinated with him as they had been with Festus, and he lets them. He lets them take him apart, piece by piece, clean out the sand of Ogygia from his organs, polish and oil his gears until they glide against each other, press new fingerprints, new signatures of belonging, against his skin.

Most importantly, they craft him a secure, intricate cage, with golden flames licking up the bars, with delicate chains shielding it from the elements, and his flame settles inside it, flickering happily, finally truly, truly comfortable in the cage of his body.

Leo Valdez may not have been born, but he was crafted with the most loving hands imaginable, and is that not so much better, for a son of the Craftsman?

More Malroth Clothing Compilation

And here is the Flashy Dress, though I warn: the clothes come with the female body type, so no buff Malroth. He has his own model for the towel, swimsuit, and even flashy formalwear to give him the muscles.

I could do some modding magic but...

Ah... Of course... I see how it is...

Unfortunately, the game doesn't give Malroth the bunny "horns" headband when he has the costume. I suppose it's because his hair is not programmed for that since you know... He never gets any hair accessory.

But

I'm a hackerman.

So I stole Babs' headband and glued it to Malroth's hair model. Here you go.

The thing on the ear is like his bone necklace, but more like the unused design one with the pearls in-between the teeth.

(Also his hair does not like the band, it was going to clip no matter what, I tried my best to make it look decentish)

-link is not able to imbibe the sword with divine power in the same way that Zelda is. Instead, he takes it to the heart of the great deku tree in the depths, and is able to charge it up down there...somehow. hes able to construct a shrine or something, mirroring the one on the surface, and it allows him to turn his dragon/hero energy into divine energy? I guess? Whatever.

-this means that the unnamed dragon has been guarding the sword in the depths for ten thousand years. He has never once left his post since he began.

-during the story, there is gloom completely surrounding the area he guards. If one of the gloom pools/shadow Ganon gets close enough, the dragon will kill it immediately, then coil back around the sword.

-he doesn't attack Zelda when she gets within his area, and he will go around her to attack gloom. It is not possible for him to hurt Zelda.

-im envisioning a how to train your dragon moment to claim the sword. Once you claim it, the gloom swarms you. Link occasionally gets one for you, but you have to defeat most by yourself in a mini boss fight.

-seeing a new dragon in the depths would have been cool as fuck but also terrifying before you knew who/what it was.

-i also think he's got a crystal leg that grew in place of the arm he lost at the start of the game.

-i think the final fight would have gone in much the same way though I DO believe that the link dragon would have bit the demon dragon at any given opportunity.

condal and his conviction that the whole book is "green propaganda" and that Alicent could have distorted a lot in order to blacken the name of Rhaenyra, led me to a fleeting dispiriting thought that after the dragon battle we would not see Aegon on the screen. we, the readers of the books, will humbly endure season 3 without him, wait for the finale 4 to see the triumph of our king, only to find out that Aegon never survived the battle and he died immediately after the fall 🤡

I don't think it would have happened in the show because it's too far from "propaganda", but even if it did, I wouldn't be surprised.

Just a little campaign sketch that I decided to color! As of a couple session ago, it turned out Emilia was not an orphan, to her great displeasure. Nothing good is happening in our campaign.

WARNING: There are a lot of flashing lights in the reveal: lightning, spotlights, flickering colored lights, pulsing green glowing spells...you get the idea. EA and BioWare didn't bother to post any warnings for the migraine and epilepsy-unfriendly nature of Veilguard, either in the reveal or on the Dragon Age YouTube Channel. So I'm warning you now. If twenty minutes of flashing lights will induce headaches, migraines, or seizures, spare yourself and don't watch this.

Dialogue wheels, for some reason, have taken the place of the dialogue boxes. I can only hope that the font of the dialogue wheels is adjustable, because what I presume is the default is eye-strainingly tiny--much smaller than the protagonist's dialogue was in previous games. Strike two for lack of disability consideration.

The reveal is from the BEGINNING of the game. And it does feel like a Dragon Age game.

i love the muted colors. i love that Zelda has her back turned to the viewer, her solemn expression, holding aloft the stone in an ethereal way. the light dragon mourning a life she doesn't remember.
