Yet another Durge/Dark urge on the shelf- Phoenix.

Pronouns they/them, Drow with Red Dragon ancestry sorcerer .

Phoenix had a bit of a rough go of it in her early years. Drow are big on blood purity and Phoenix is a physical reminder that their family had a dragon at the square dance at one point. They would be made to hide their scales growing up, and told she was a stray they kept around for amusement. Really they just wanted to use phoenix for their Sorcerer ability.

When the urge takes over, they wipe out their Drow family, and view Bhall as a kind of "savoir". Allowing Phoenix to avenge the unhappy years with and having the strength to protect themselves.

I'm going to be vulnerable on this thread right now. Part of the reason Phoenix is currently on the shelf is because I'm worried about being too flipping attracted to them to focus. My second run I was totally distracted by my Tiefling Druid Durge. Like I straight up had to reread the dialogue because would be ogling my tav. Both Neil Newbon and Tom De vile have had the same problem while playing so I refuse to be shamed.

doodles from today cause i had a thought: water tribe dragon-blood boy who despite every attempt could not hide his true nature, and fire nation dragon-blood boy who despite every attempt could never take full dragon form

sokka maims himself in an attempt to look more human, breaking off his own horns, cutting his ears, picking at his scales, but everyone sees what he really is. the dragons were responsible for so much death and destruction and he hates being their kind, and so he runs. meanwhile, being able to embrace the dragon in him is all zuko ever wanted, his royal bloodline expecting it of him, but he fails and he fails and is humiliated, tortured, and cast out for his weakness.

still boggles my mind that in the year 2024 most players still ignore anora's character just to reduce her to a lying backstabber, when she only goes against you if:

you reveal her identity to ser cautherine and howe's soldiers, defeating the entire purpose of her disguise and also ignoring what she told you literally one minute before about how they can't know she's escaping with you - thereby betraying her first

you ignore her completely in denerim after she asks you to come talk to her, and only show up to the landsmeet

you bring up loghain's fate, and when she tells you that she would rather him be spared if possible, you tell her to her face that her father has to die

they are so messy and strange and i luuuve themmmmm.

some brief backstory of my guys:

Leigh got shipped off to the military secret service(at the wee age of ten) after her family issues culminated in a messy incident.

about a year into her training, she was introduced to Griffin who would be training with her mentor Saerdis to hone his psychic powers, while Leigh would train with his gaurdian Drusus on the field work Saerdis was unable to cover.

The two fell into a fast friendship and have been joined at the hip ever since. which was a good thing because many horrors awaited them.

they are very tramatized and very codependent, having only each other to rely on and survive for. they are trying to figure out how to be real people, but they are very bad at it.
