Lmao Hiccup’s like 🧍‍♂️ pfft. Anyway since Epic finished I can’t get the AU out of my head and I have an animatic cooking with these quick designs. A lil Hades inspired ofc but we love our Kings of Ithaca reunited after 20 years apart XD

(In my head Jack is more of a Hermes type character but shhhhhhh the song requires some compromise)

Aeolus giving Odysseus the wind bag and telling him it to let anybody open it was the epic equivalent of a DM giving a player a secret note in front of the whole table that said “if you don’t tell anybody what this note says, I’ll give you an advantage”

And then the DM sits back and watches trust sparkle and burn like fireworks

Y'know how Odysseus said that he would capture wind and sky for Telemachus, and make the storm clouds cry for him?

In the Ocean Saga, before they meet Poseidon, he convinced Aeolus to clear the sky, and captured the wind in the windbag.

This is when he started to miss his family in an extreme way,

In the Vengance Saga, he made Poseidon, the Earthshaker, the *Stormbringer* cry out in pain.

This is when he embraces the desperate longing for his family.

He literally captured wind, and made THE storm cry. All for Telemachus and to see him.

This also means Wings Of Fire tribes ofc, and because I'm a yapper, I'll just talk about the design for a bit.

Odysseus is a sandwing because of course he is, their dark eyes make for great menacing charachters and their colours are just nice to look at! He also looks a lot like a rattlesnake, but I tried to sprinkle in a bit of that antique greek vase look.

Both sandwings and rattlesnakes are kind of 'known' for cunning and trickery, possibly even a bit of arrogance. I'd say both fit him quite decently

No, I just think Ody and Pen are more similar to Stoic and Valka's relationship in Epic the Musical and How to Train our Dragon. Why'd you ask?

Reasons:

Both are separated for 20-ish years (Hiccup is 20 in the 2nd move AKA when his parents reunite)

Both have their "I'm severely underestimated/ bullied because I'm not exactly like my father" sons

Said son only had a singular parent for 20 years

4. THEY BOTH HAVE THE WOULD YOU STILL LOVE ME AFTER ALL THIS TIME SONG. LIKE HELLO????????

Not enough people are talking about this so here I am. Odysseus and Penelope are not Hiccup and Astrid. They are Valka and Stoic. Try to change my mind I fucking dare you.
