crying over the idea of draco and luna being regulus' godchildren. just. imagine narcissa was already expecting and he was so excited about being godfather. talking about teaching him quidditch and how to be the best seeker and being so devastated when he realised he wouldn't live to see draco's birth. and pandora refusing to pick someone else, because who else would love her baby and understand her, more than pandora's best friend? more than pandora's brother?
narcissa and pandora both telling stories, of how much their uncle would love and adore them. pandora lighting a candle every evening, telling luna its so her uncle reg will always know the way home. draco having a lion plush exclusively for him, the leo constellation shining over its heart.
bonding over this as adults, becoming friends over shared stories of their godfather - this elusive figure that they never met but can't help loving, can't help knowing. crying together in relief when it was made public that he didn't die for the wrong thing, he didn't die a madman. crying because there was always the awful doubt that their mothers might've been lying about him and they weren't. they can be proud, now. they can shout it from the rooftops and light a candle every night and make space for an old toy in plain view.
regulus black's memory never fades - it's passed down. he is loved, even in death, with a strength that would make him weep.

Hello, I was wondering if it'd be possible for you to do an enemies to lovers with Harry Potter (with smut)? I feel like since Harry's life has been focused on Voldemort, he hasn't had a lot of time to think about things like crushes, and he's only had a couple of girlfriends here and there, but he's never felt such strong feelings for someone like y/n, so he deals with them by having a disliking towards her. (maybe he has a breeding kink? 🙏🙏) Maybe she's dracos sister? I dunno, all I know is that your fanfics are beautifully written, and you are my FAV tumblr author. Thank you ❤️
hi! thank you so much for requesting! you are so so sweet, i appreciate it so much <3 i had a lotttt of fun writing this one, i hope you like it!
pairing: harry james potter x fem!slytherin!reader (18+)
summary: harry becomes infatuated with you, draco malfoy's little sister, whom he's extremely protective over. though harry's confusion when it came to you lead him to hating you for several years, he eventually sees who you truly are, and loves what he finds.
c/w: mostly angst/fluff, slow burn, some smut at the end (oral & penetrative sex with some minor breeding kink). and, of course, briefly edited, all lowercase, not exactly book/movie/canon accurate, you know me !
word count: 14.6k (i'm so sorry)
a/n: soo i kinda ran with the draco's sister plot line lol. i actually had 2 other requests that also asked for a slytherin reader, so i tried to make it all in one! i hope everyone enjoys!
it wasn't until year 2 that harry learned draco actually had a little sister who would now be attending hogwarts with them. "how did you not know?" hermione had asked him, dumbfounded. "you've never heard someone mention [y/n] malfoy?"
harry tried to pay attention to hermione's questions, but he couldn't stop staring at you. you only vaguely looked like draco, maybe more so from certain angles, but there was something so completely different and unique about you. you carried yourself differently than draco. no constant sneer or narrowed eyes looking for trouble; instead, a soft smile, gentle touch, and nervous giggle. harry wasn't sure what to make of you. how could someone like you be related to such an evil pest like draco malfoy?
"blimey, harry, we're over here," ron whines, snapping his fingers in harry's face. harry looks back at his friends with guilt. "sorry, it's just, she doesn't seem related to draco," he says.
hermione makes a face. "i still wouldn't trust her regardless, the malfoys are nothing but evil trouble,"
harry glances back at you again, laughing with a few other first year girls waiting for the sorting hat.
it came as no surprise to anyone when you, a malfoy heir, were quickly sorted as a slytherin, their table erupting into cheers as you excitedly ran to a cheerful draco. harry remarked this as one of the first times he's seen draco actually look happy, a genuine grin plastered across his face as he gives you a big hug.
it almost feels wrong to see draco be affectionate with someone. harry's never seen someone make draco soften so much so quickly. as he's guiding you to sit next to him at the table, harry can actually hear him congratulating you. "see, i told you, nothing to worry about."
seeing him be so brotherly with you was so off putting it was almost upsetting to harry. if draco does have feelings, then why is he so awful to harry and his friends for no reason? and not just them, but to almost every student or professor? it just made no sense to him. harry hated hypocrites.
after the ceremony, harry's heading to the gryffindor common room when draco sharply cuts in front of him, standing nose to nose in the hallway.
draco looks harry up and down with a sneer. "i saw you staring at my baby sister, potter. try anything with her and you're dead."
harry's caught off guard but sneers back at draco, disgusted at his insinuation. "wasn't planning on it, draco. hermione's right, your family is nothing but trouble."
you come up behind draco, pulling on his robes softly. "draco," you say.
draco gives you one last warning look before taking you by the shoulders, guiding you away from harry. "let's go, [y/n]," he says with disgust.
as draco pulls you away, you swiftly turn over your shoulder and wave at harry with a big grin on your face. "hi, harry!" you call out excitedly before draco turns you around and walks you down the hallway quicker.
harry waves weakly. now he's really not sure what to think. draco is clearly protective of you and doesn't want you to even talk to harry. but you seem so kind and friendly, and harry can't deny how cute your smile is…
harry brushes off the situation, meeting ron and hermione at the top of the stairs where they were waiting for him. "what was that all about?" ron asked.
harry rolls his eyes. "nothing. can we just go?"
ron and hermione look at each other, a bit confused at harry's annoyance, but don't push him any further.
it's on this walk with ron and hermione that harry decides he hates you. as far as he's concerned, you're just another draco to him. he doesn't care if you seem nice, hermione's right - he can't trust you. not even for a second. not even if you look at him with those big beautiful eyes, that soft smile, your infectious giggle…no, harry hates you. and he hates draco. nothing's going to change that.
harry actually manages to not have another interaction with you until the beginning of 4th year, though that never stopped the longing stares between you two. harry often caught you attempting to talk to him, but always figured out a way around it to avoid you completely. he wasn't scared of draco's threat; harry knew he was serious but he wasn't afraid of draco. he simply had no desire to be around you, not even for a second.
mainly because he knew you could easily win him over if you wanted to.
harry had tried to deny it for over a year before he finally admitted to himself that fine, okay, maybe he does find [y/n] extremely pretty…but that doesn't have to mean anything. he still avoided you like the plague as draco continued to torment harry and his friends like normal.
at the beginning of fourth year, however, you made it a point to find harry when he was alone and practically force him into a conversation with you. he tries to get away when he sees it's you coming up next to him in the hallway, but you grab his arm. "harry. please."
harry pauses. he hasn't really heard your voice since you were in your first year, and only barely. it was so soft and kind, and just a hint sad as you asked him to speak for a moment.
he turns to you reluctantly. he knew this wasn't going to be good. he's already a little lost just looking in your eyes, but keeps himself focused as you begin talking to him.
"you've been avoiding me for almost 3 years now, and don't try to deny it because i'm not stupid…" you say, your tone of sadness only more pronounced. harry's awkwardly diverting his gaze, watching as you both slowly become some of the only students left in the hallway. he doesn't intend on replying, instead letting silence fill the air between you.
"i know you and draco don't get along but, can't we at least be civil? i'm not like him like that," you ask, your voice slightly desperate.
harry glares at you, ripping his arm away from your lingering grasp. he was never one to get angry at someone being so kind to him without reason, but he just couldn't stand you. you confused him, you made his heart race, you made him feel crazy for disliking someone so intensely when they haven't done anything wrong, but he couldn't help it.
"draco is an evil, blood purist bully. and as far as i'm concerned, you're nothing but his little shadow. so no, we cannot be civil." harry spits at you, his voice dripping in anger.
your face drops, but he's already stomping away, his blood pumping from the adrenaline rush of simply speaking to you.
"well fuck off, then. i was just being nice."
harry turns around at your loud voice, seeing you in tears just before you turn around and run out of the hallway, a few lingering students watching and looking over at harry as well.
harry just ignores them and continues walking away. he feels guilty, of course, you really were just trying to be nice despite harry's relationship with draco, but harry can't let his guard down for even a second. he's got so many other parts of his life that require his attention and time, he can't risk getting caught up in his feelings over his enemy's sister in the middle of it all.
it was easier for both of you if harry just put that wall up right away and ignored his other feelings for you. the feelings of longing, the feeling of guilt…
after that day, you and harry hadn't spoken to each other again. there was always looking, staring from across the room in both admiration and disdain. you found harry to be incredibly rude after that encounter and never saw him quite the same, but you couldn't help but watch him through the years as he grew into himself. and he had the same issue, only finding you more and more beautiful as time went on, from an adorable girl with the cutest laugh he's ever heard to a gorgeous woman in every sense of the word.
harry had a few crushes throughout this time at hogwarts and, ironically, even dated his best friend's sister at some point, but always found himself disinterested in all of them after a while for one reason or another. harry was constantly on edge these last few years and would practically lose himself in the situations he was in. his world would be turned upside down and he was expected to fix it every time. at that point, he just couldn't bring himself to care about a crush or even a relationship after experiencing what he's gone through.
what harry did always care about, though, was you.
not in a traditional sense, at least. he didn't necessarily want bad things to happen to you, not at all actually. he had always kept an eye on you during your years together. he didn't have any reason to, you guys were anything but friends, but harry felt a responsibility to keep you safe for some reason.
by harry's last year, draco had more or less left him alone completely. no more bullying or picking fights or spewing names, draco was now a sullen shell of who he used to be with no motivation to do anything but graduate and leave hogwarts behind.
harry couldn't blame him. he had to give it to draco, he went through a lot. though harry believed it all happened due to draco's own stupidity and selfishness that left him alone and depressed in the end, he still felt for him, if only a little bit. if not for what it did to you.
you had never given in to your family's connections to the dark lord, even when things were at their most detrimental point in the war, you stood with your fellow classmates, and, ultimately, with harry. draco couldn't say the same.
harry remembers being shocked, but not entirely sure why. he knew who you really were outside of your surname: a kind, understanding, empathetic person who brought light to people's days. but still, after all this time, there was a part of harry that still believed it might have all just been an act. he knew he was being ridiculous once he saw you turn away from your own parents and brother, not for harry, but for what was right.
since then, harry's felt different about you. rather than feeling anger or confusion whenever he saw your face or the back of your head in the hall, all he felt was happiness. he was happy to see you, happy that everything was okay now, happy that you had been genuine this whole time…though, of course, that came with the guilt of being so awful to you previously.
harry had been meaning to apologize to you and finally settle things before the end of the year. the issue was getting you away from draco.
since draco began struggling after the war, you two were practically attached at the hip. you tried everything in your power to help your brother, to be there for him, to reassure him; it killed you to see him so disappointed in everything, especially himself. harry found it sweet, of course, just how much you were willing to try for draco, but he ultimately saw it as a lost cause. if draco wanted to wallow in self-pity for knowingly being on the wrong side of the war, harry couldn't care less.
however, he cared for you, of course, so he respected your space around draco as harry knew he would only make things worse.
he was still determined to speak to you alone, so he figured out what classes you and draco had, both together and separately, and found a time where you would be alone. your last class of the day ended before draco's did, so harry waited by your classroom door until the bell rang.
once he saw you exit, talking with a friend, it took him a moment to build the courage to interrupt the conversation. but he knew he had to do this now, or else he'd never do it at all.
"[y/n]," harry said, coming up behind you and your friend. you both turned to him, your face instantly going pale. "oh," your friend had said, looking at you and harry before giving you a smirk and a simple goodbye.
you waved her off and turned back to harry, a complex look on your face. harry smiled tightly. "i was, um, wondering if we could speak, just for a moment," harry stumbles through his words, gesturing to an empty hall to your right. you take a moment to look around you, but nod at him and head around the corner to the less used hallway.
harry sighs as you turn to him, arms crossed, watching intently. "uh, look," harry says awkwardly, his hands going to his head in stress. "just, since everything that's happened, i've been thinking a lot…" harry continues, not able to look at you.
"i'm sure you have," you say softly. your voice is a mix of sincerity and sarcasm. it stings. harry can tell you're disappointed, angry, sad, and above all, completely hurt.
he chooses his next words carefully. "i'm sorry. for everything. for what happened with you and your family. for putting you through so much. for treating you how i did. i let my anger for draco and your family get in the way of my judgment." harry says softly, staring at the ground. "you didn't deserve that. none of you did. and i'll live with the guilt forever."
you're still watching harry, your weight shifting to the side, arms slowly uncrossing.
"i'm not asking you to forgive me. i just wanted to say sorry." harry sighs, sneaking a look at you before quickly looking away down the hall. your expression is unreadable. confusion, shock, sadness.
you leave a few moments of silence before replying, thinking of what you want to say to harry after all these years. you clear your throat, your hands folding together in front of you. "you should be sorry," you say simply.
harry's heart drops, but he's not surprised at your response. he knows you won't be easy to win over.
"i grew up idolizing you, harry. do you know how heartbreaking it was for you to hate me because of something i can't control?" your voice is breaking, your eyes turning away from him as well. harry doesn't move or respond. he knows he deserves to hear this.
you sigh shakily, trying to regain control. "but," you say sharply, causing harry to look towards you. your eyes were still diverted, nervously wringing your hands together. "there's no guilt to be had. you didn't do anything. you didn't choose this life. everything that happened to all of us was happening to you too." you say flatly.
you glance at harry, who's surprised at your words. "you were just a kid, harry." you tell him softly. harry's eyes threaten to tear up as he turns his head away quickly. you look back down the hall in front of you. "but so was i, and i didn't deserve that from you. so, yes, while i don't forgive you yet, i do accept your apology." you say with a suppressed smile. harry also has a small smile on his cheeks from what you can see.
another few moments of silence pass before harry sighs, relieved. "well, thank you."
the bell rings, and harry's heart drops. draco. he's going to be looking for you. he turns to the other hallway before looking back at you. "i guess i better go," he says. you smile sadly at him. "yeah. guess so." you say quietly.
harry gives you a sad smile too before leaving you behind, looking around to make sure draco wasn't close by before leaving down the hall.
harry wasn't afraid of draco. he never had been, but he certainly didn't want to see how he'd react to harry talking to his sister, even just casually. harry understands to an extent, if he had a sister he'd never let her near draco–but that's because he's draco. harry's a good guy, and he'd treat you well.
harry shakes his head at his thoughts.
what is he doing? he just wanted to apologize to you. nothing more. just because you make his heart flutter and are probably the most beautiful girl he'll ever know doesn't mean he has to like you. even though harry can't deny just how much he admired you for what you sacrificed during the war. when you turned your back to lucius and narcissa, your face stained with tears, hands in a fist, harry remembers thinking this must be what an angel looks like in real life. all of the evil in the world at your fingertips to corrupt you and you were strong enough, smart enough, to say no to it all in the face of war.
but that didn't have to mean anything, right?
right. harry could appreciate what you've done and still keep his distance with you. he apologized for his behavior, and you might've proved his suspicions about you to be wrong, but you were still a malfoy. one good, precious apple out of the entire rotten orchard isn't going to change his mind.
the next day, harry's just splitting ways with hermione outside the library when he catches your eye from down the hall. "harry!" you call out, walking quickly in his direction.
harry turns to you, instinctively smiling before letting his face go blank. "[y/n]," he says, surprised, as you come up beside him. "what's wrong?"
you laugh a bit, giving harry a look. "what? nothing's wrong. i figured we could maybe eat lunch together."
harry's a bit stunned. he takes a look around you both. obviously you had been alone, but he was still a bit suspicious of draco's absence. you two had been practically glued together this last year or so, it was almost odd to see you without him.
"oh, sure, um…" harry says, still shocked as he continues scanning the faces around you. you laugh again, putting your hand on harry's arm as you guide him to the dining hall. "just us, don't worry. draco's sick in bed for the day."
harry's a bit relieved at your words, but gets the sense that you think harry's afraid of draco seeing you two together. he might not want it to happen for one reason or another, but he's not afraid. he just wants to be respectful. though he's not entirely sure why, as draco has never given him the same in return.
sitting down at an empty spot at the gryffindor table, you start making a plate for yourself with the plentiful food options in front of you. harry sits across from you, his heart racing thinking about everyone seeing [y/n] malfoy and harry potter spending time together. weren't they well-known enemies of the school? i thought they hated each other? what does draco think about this?
harry started eating his food along with you, a comfortable but strange silence falling over you two. he wasn't sure if he should break it by asking why you wanted to meet with him, and he wasn't sure if he really wanted to know why.
after a few minutes, you wipe your face with a napkin and set down your utensils. "harry, i wanted to tell you something."
really? harry's heart could only beat harder. that was the last thing he wanted to hear from you right now. he was already practically sweating from the anxiety.
harry waits patiently for you, his eyes fixed on yours. he notices just how pretty they are in comparison to your skin, hair, lips, it just all makes sense together, like someone was extensively planning a beautiful painting when it came to your features.
you seem a tad nervous before looking down at your food and continuing. "i've decided i would like to try and be friends, if you'd like that." you seem flustered, almost embarrassed to ask. "i know there's been a lot of complications since year 3 when i first asked to be civil, but…y'know, like i already let spill, i've really admired you my whole life and…"
harry has never seen you so nervous. it was totally endearing, your mannerisms, your quiet voice, like a pet wanting approval.
"and, i think i would just really love to spend some time with you. and learn how to forgive you, of course." you add on the last part with a bit of coldness. it subtly reminds harry of draco. but you flash him a smirk before taking another bite of food, and it's like draco never existed.
harry smiles warmly. just a year ago if you had asked him this he would've laughed in your face and ignored you because it angered him that you think you two could ever be friends. but harry's changed a lot since then, he sees the human in you, and he's no longer suspicious of your intentions. though his guard is still up, he's not sure it'll ever really come down, he wants to reach out to you now.
with another bite of his food as well, harry casually nods his head. "yeah, i think we could be friends."
more silence passes before you finish your plate. "well, to commemorate our newfound friendship," you say as you raise your glass to him. harry chuckles. "a toast after we've already eaten?" he asks incredulously. you roll your eyes slightly, a smile still poking at your lips. "just do it, potter."
potter. the nickname can only remind him of draco. but somehow, it feels different coming from your mouth, in your voice. it's not harsh, it's not condescending, if anything it's full of love and care. it's admirable.
harry picks up his own glass and clinks it against yours, still chuckling to himself. "to newfound friendship."
it had been a few weeks of you and harry hanging out, and he was over the moon about it. you two had wonderful chemistry together, he'd come to learn, and your sense of humor was enthralling to him. you were always able to get a smile out of him, even sometimes just from a single look. you both enjoyed reading and would spend hours at the library together, you enjoyed going to harry's last few quidditch matches of the year to cheer him on, and harry loved helping you study for your exams. the more time you spent together, the more harry had let his guard down around you. you were really starting to grow on him. he found himself thinking about you all the time, and not in a negative way like he used to for so many years.
now, when he thought of or saw you, his heart ached with how much he truly cared about you. he thought about the night you two ended up sneaking out together simply just to talk under the moonlight, where you told him everything about your complicated relationship with your family. he told you all about his fight against voldemort, the months he spent looking for horcruxes, and what it was like being the chosen one at such a young age. he remembers how intently you watched and listened to him. he had never met someone so intrigued by his life and feelings. you were extremely empathetic to what he had gone through, and it was refreshing to harry. he remembers looking at you under the moon, and thinking you were truly the most beautiful thing in the world, inside and out.
when he thought of or saw you, he remembered the time you spent together just before christmas, exchanging presents in the solitary of his bedroom. simple, small gifts wrapped perfectly and neatly with sentimental value for both of you. he thought about the hug you gave him as you left his room, his gift still in hand, holding him for a few moments longer than you normally did. the way you'd said, "happy christmas, harry," with the softest, sweetest voice in the world.
when harry thought of or saw you, all he could think about was the care and admiration he had for you that only grew with time. at first.
then, he thought about draco.
harry always thought about draco when he was with you. not that he wanted to, he wished he could focus all his attention on you in the moment, but you were still his sister. harry was reminded each time you gave him a bit of attitude or curled your lips away from him that you were, in fact, still a malfoy, and your time spent with him wouldn't be looked at favorably by anyone in your family. most especially draco.
harry never brought up the prospect of your family unprompted. he knew it was a sensitive subject, but he also knew it would never end well with you. one way or another, by the end of the school year, harry was leaving and you couldn't follow. as much as he loved being around you and valued your budding friendship, he knew it was destined to fail from the beginning. he was everything your family hated and spent their lives working against. he was the chosen one. though he's sacrificed many aspects of his life because of this title, you will undoubtedly be his most painful.
and he certainly never brought up draco, as the idea itself made him sick to his stomach. it was bad enough you were related to him, but the fact that you spent pretty much every moment with draco when you weren't with harry made his skin crawl. he knew your relationship with him was not negotiable. you loved draco so deeply it was almost foreign to harry. the way you talked about him that night under the moon and the experiences he's had to go through did make harry empathize with him more than he had previously, but he was still full of anger and hatred for the little blonde boy who tried to make harry's school years a living hell.
he was thinking this over as he examined a framed picture of your family sitting on your nightstand. harry had been to your room quite a few times this year to hang out, and he was always intrigued by this specific picture. your parents, sitting in elegant thrones with you and draco on either side. you looked so out of place. not because of your stance or expression, but you just simply looked different. if harry had never known, he would've never guessed you were born into the malfoy family.
"that's a terrible photo," you laugh at harry as you continue working on an assignment. you had asked him to come help you, but really you just wanted his presence near you. harry knew this. once he figured out that most of your invitations to "study together" just meant you wanted to be near him for an hour or so every day, he was extremely grateful to provide his help. he didn't mind being around you at all, actually.
"it's…definitely something," harry laughs off, taking his attention away from the photo and topic in general.
harry sits beside you on the bed, your back on your pillows as he sits with his feet on the ground. harry's just about to bring up something when you lean towards him, holding your book in your lap. "hey, can you explain this to me?" you ask, still looking down at your assignment on the other page. "i've read this like 10 times and i still don't get it," you point out a paragraph for harry as you scoot closer to him.
harry leans in, closer than he's ever been with you, and reads the passage to himself quietly. as he's reading, he can see you shifting nervously beside him. your hands were delicately holding the book open for him, still resting on your legs, his head just below yours.
"oh, uh, i think it's talking about…" harry starts off, trying to reread the difficult wording of the section. "bloody hell," he mumbles, frustrated, reaching for the book himself to get a better look at the paragraph. you chuckle breathily, and it hits the back of harry's neck. he immediately gets chills.
he looks up towards you, and your face is nearly touching his. he would've moved away sooner but he'd be damned if he didn't take this opportunity to truly appreciate just how deeply beautiful your eyes were right now.
not a moment later, your door opens from behind harry, and he doesn't even have to look to know who it is.
you both turn slowly to see draco standing in the doorway, his eyes flashing between you and harry sitting so closely on your bed. "dray," you gasp, standing up from beside harry.
harry's frozen. the look on draco's face is one of shock and disappointment. his lips curled down tightly, a familiar darkness growing in his eyes as he focuses on harry sitting on his sister's bed.
"so. i was right. you have been avoiding me." draco says towards you as he continues to glare at harry. harry stands with you, anger slowly growing inside of him for the situation at hand. this is the last way he wanted draco to find out you two were friends.
"dray, he was just helping–""i don't wanna hear it, [y/n]." draco interrupts you. this only pisses harry off more as his jaw clenches tightly.
a moment of silence passes briefly before draco speaks again. "i told you to stay away from him, did i somehow not make that clear?" draco's eyes divert to you, his stare even colder looking at you. you're stumbling looking for your words, but harry's anger gets the best of him in the moment.
"she can make her own decisions, malfoy."
draco's eyes snap back to harry, his fists balling up at his sides. your hand instinctively goes in front of harry as you step towards draco. "it would be wise of you to shut your bloody mouth now, potter. you were the one all over my baby sister in her bed just a moment ago." draco's words are leaking with rage, taking steps closer towards harry.
"dray, stop it," you warn him, now standing between him and harry.
"[y/n], you can't be fucking serious right now. you've loathed him for years. we both have. what are you doing? have you lost your mind? i'm genuinely asking," draco is dumbfounded at his sister's actions, scanning you up and down.
"that's not even true, draco, and you know that." you tell him in a cracking voice, tears stinging your eyes. harry wants nothing more than to save you from the heartache you're experiencing in this moment. part of him wants to hurt draco for making you cry. but, inside, harry knows you would want to handle this by yourself. anything he did to hurt draco was inadvertently hurting you as well.
"harry has been nothing but a good friend to me this semester. he's even helped me pass my exams. don't do this to me right now," you tell draco slowly, tears still threatening to fall.
draco rolls his eyes at your last statement. "oh, do what? try and keep you safe? you're being utterly ridiculous right now, [y/n], and you and i both know it."
harry can sense there's something he's missing here. you and draco keep referencing something you both understand that harry doesn't seem to.
you're clearly frustrated as the first few tears start to fall down your cheeks. "i know what i'm doing, dray. please, don't you trust me?" you ask desperately, your voice shaking.
draco softens watching you fall apart in front of him. his eyes aren't as dark, his fists come undone, and he sighs as he breaks his stare at you.
"of course i do." he states simply, his voice now more solemn than angry.
"then trust me when i say i trust harry," you say. draco winces at your statement. "i know there's complicated feelings there but i love you, dray, and i want to be honest about who i'm spending my time with," you level with draco, taking a step towards him.
he glances towards harry, a look of disdain still lingering in his eyes, but looks at you with an apologetic look. "you should've been honest from the beginning," he insists.
you sigh. "i know. i'm sorry. i felt terrible lying to you. you have to understand it was killing me, dray…" your voice breaks again as you try to compose yourself. "but you know how i've felt for a long time."
harry can't decipher the tone in your last statement, but you say it so convincingly he breaks his stare from draco to look down at you, tear-stained cheeks and, still, your eyes are so beautiful to harry. he looks back at draco, who's watching him in disgust before looking back at you lovingly.
draco's analyzing your expression as his body relaxes. he sighs again, bringing you in for a hug.
harry steps to the side awkwardly as you and draco hug for a moment. you're still sniffling by the time he pulls away, wiping your cheeks with a gentle thumb. harry watches closely. it's so strange to see draco this soft in his presence. not even harry could get in the way of draco's clear dedication to you as more than a brother, but as a protector.
for a moment, harry saw a side of draco he knew existed but never fully realized was so strong.
"i know, [y/n/n]. it's okay. i'm sorry." draco tells you softly, his hands still holding your cheeks. you smile, tearfully, putting your hands on his before holding them in front of you. draco takes them back, fixing his shirt before looking at harry with a blank expression.
harry stays quiet. there's a lot he wants to say, but he waits for draco to break the silence.
"as for you, potter…" draco says, his voice less angry than before but still contained. harry looks at him expectedly. he's easily taller than draco now, and practices for quidditch way more than draco does anymore, so harry definitely has some muscle on him. if he were to ever try anything, harry wasn't afraid.
draco takes a moment to collect his thoughts before speaking. "while my beautiful sister is putting it lightly, my feelings towards you are more than complicated," he spits out, the anger seeping through before he breaks his stare and controls himself. "but," he says, a softness in his voice.
"she's a smart girl, and i trust that she's not making a mistake spending her time with you." draco looks at you with a hint of a smile before looking back at harry with a stoic expression. "and while i may not like it, we're adults now, and i'm no longer a threat to you," draco says simply before his face sours. "unless you so much as upset her just once, i swear to merlin potter–""draco." you interrupt his rage harshly, your eyes cold as ice as you caught his gaze.
harry smirks, but wipes it away so as to not make the situation worse. draco lets out an annoyed huff before apologizing to you curtly.
"well, best be on my way then, don't want to interrupt you two," draco says with a sneer, turning to the door. "i'll still see you for dinner tonight, right?" you ask eagerly, following and opening the door for draco. he nods. "of course," he says simply, leaning in to give you a gentle kiss on top of your head. with another dirty look at harry, draco turns and leaves silently.
you close the door with a shaky sigh, and harry's immediately coming to your side to comfort you. "[y/n], i'm so sorry that happened how it did. i never wanted to cause issues with you and draco," he explains, his hand instinctively reaching for your back to rub it comfortingly.
you're still collecting yourself, facing the door, turned away from harry as you sniffle and wipe your eyes. "it's okay," you say in a broken voice.
harry's heart aches at the sound. all he wants is to comfort you, hold you close, tell you it's okay to cry with him…
but he doesn't, because he knows he shouldn't.
"it's not okay, look how upset you are," harry says, bending down slightly to your height. "look, i wouldn't be upset if you told me you didn't want to see me anymore. your relationship with draco is important to you, and the last thing i want to do is complicate it," harry tells you softly.
you snap your head at him with a concerned look, eyes red from crying. "wh-what? no, i…don't say that," you stutter over yourself. you take a step towards harry, only a few inches apart at this point.
"harry, i want you in my life. even if draco didn't understand i would still…" you trail off, your eyes starting to water again as you blink the tears away. "i want you, harry," you say, your voice trembling with fear.
harry's mind is spinning hearing you say this. he's looking down at you, so close to him, so vulnerable, willing to lose what's closest to you just for him. you're so beautiful, so full of light, and so much more complex than he ever imagined. he's never felt so many feelings about one person so intensely all at once.
the only thing he knows, the only thing he can rely on, is that he wants you too.
harry's lost in your eyes for several seconds before he can respond. "i want you in my life, too," he says just above a whisper.
you smile, still a bit sad, but you seem fulfilled with his answer. stepping back and towards your bed, still wiping your eyes, you chuckle half-heartedly to yourself. "didn't think you'd see me cry so easily," you say, a little embarrassed as you shake your head. "i tried to fight it, but…" you continued laughing to yourself.
harry followed you, still giving you your space. he watched as you sat down on your bed with a sigh, your body still shaking from the rush. "it's okay to cry," he says, holding himself back from what he really wants to say. "i'm just sorry it happened this way,"
you give harry a half smile before looking away nervously. "he was going to figure it out soon, anyways. i've been spending more and more time 'studying with the girls' than i ever have, and he was getting suspicious," you tell him, shaking your head again.
harry chuckles to himself. he found it sweet that you made excuses to spend time with him, even if it meant sacrificing time with draco. he felt special, he couldn't lie. "so, i'm one of the girls now?" harry teases, crossing his arms with a smirk. you roll your eyes, holding in a giggle. "shut up," you whine, your cheeks going red. "it was the only thing i could come up with, okay?"
"no, no, it's funny," harry says with a shrug. you still give him a look, but reach for your textbook you left at the end of the bed. "whatever. can you just help me now?" you ask, still holding back a laugh with a suppressed smile.
harry just laughs and agrees, joining the bed next to you as he attempts to help you with the assignment. soon it was like draco was never there, and you were back to laughing, joking, sitting in comfortable silence together until you had to leave for dinner.
with a quick hug and a lingering goodbye, you separated down the hall from each other. harry thought about you the entire way to his room, and for the rest of the night by himself. it's not like harry never thought about you, of course, he certainly did more than he thought he should, but tonight was just different. he thought about what you said to draco, how you defended him so quickly, how you put yourself on the line to ask for draco's trust in that moment. it was like watching you turn your back on your family all over again.
harry had to admit he felt guilty. he's really grown to care about you since getting closer with you, and he hates to think he's constantly going to get in the way of your relationship with your family like he has already. just by being his friend you're already putting so much at risk, he'd hate to think about what would happen if things ever went further…
harry really has stop having these thoughts about you. he's just your friend, and he doesn't even know how he feels about you. sure, his feelings aren't complicated with anger or hatred anymore, but if anything they're even more confusing now. harry knew this would happen, that's why he built that wall between you and him in the first place. some part of him just knew one day you would be trouble.
but now, on the other side of that wall, harry was ready for the trouble. he was going to take it head on.
he didn't care what draco thought, or your parents, or anyone else, not even himself. all he cared about was that you made him happy, and he seemed to have the same affect on you. as long as harry focused on that, the rest was just noise.
a few months later the snow was melting, the school year was wrapping up, and you and harry were still going strong. as friends, anyway.
things became a lot more natural between you and harry after draco walked in on you two that day. you no longer felt the need to hide your time spent with harry. you were bringing him everywhere and he was doing the same with you. you got along perfectly with ron and hermione despite their hesitations at first, even becoming especially close to hermione with all of your similar interests and beliefs.
harry eventually met your friends too and got along with them just as well. soon you were together pretty much every day studying with friends, playing quidditch for fun, or going to diagon alley to window shop. harry more than enjoyed his time spent with you, and felt empty on the days he couldn't manage to see you for even a moment. you were so full of light you just made everything better, and harry couldn't get enough of it.
in fact, it was over this time that harry started to figure out that maybe what he was feeling towards you was more than just complicated guilt. maybe he didn't just really care about you, or find you really pretty, or really wanted to hold you when you were sad or scared; maybe, just maybe, he was starting to really like the malfoy sister.
this came as no surprise to him once he figured it out, really. since the literal first minute he saw you at just 12 years old he knew you were special. he was mesmerized from the moment you entered his life. even through every crush and short-lived girlfriend he's had these past few years, you were always more interesting to him.
it took a long time for harry to come around to his own feelings and emotions. he's simply never had the time to truly work out why he feels what he feels, or what causes certain sensations in his body. all he knew was that your eyes made his heart ache in a way that nobody else's did. not because he hates you, but, really, quite the opposite, actually.
even if he came to terms with his growing feelings for you, he tried to not let them get in the way of your friendship together. you were constantly thanking harry for dedicating his time to you, for spending long nights just talking with you, for helping you in every way he possibly could. he knew how much you valued your friendship with him, and so did he, so he pushed those other feelings to the side and tried to keep things friendly between you two.
however, it was getting to a point where harry could barely spend more than a few minutes thinking about anything outside of you. he brought you up constantly when you weren't around, everything reminded him of you, his entire mind was stained with you and it was starting to have an effect. ron and hermione had teased him for being so lovesick for a malfoy, which he shrugged off. he knew you were different, you weren't just a malfoy, you were entirely your own. he'd never met someone like you, you made him feel things he didn't even know were possible.
soon harry knew his feelings would grow to the point that they would begin interfering with how he acted with you. you already made him nervous just by being so pretty and comfortable around him, constantly making jokes and teasing him in a friendly way that just made harry feel so giddy inside. he knew soon his thoughts of you would start to get in the way of how he looked at you, how he talked to you, and it scared him. harry couldn't lose you now, you'd very quickly become an important part of his life that made him feel complete. his silly crush could never matter as much as his friendship with you.
there was a dinner being held for the last year students this weekend, and harry was trying to figure out a casual way to ask you to go with him so it felt friendly. he didn't want to be too casual and make you think he was asking as a last minute effort, but he also didn't want to be too formal and make you think he'd been thinking about this date for months. which, in reality, he had, and it was stressing him out.
harry finally figured he would just ask you like he'd ask you to do anything else with him, but he also wanted to wait for the right moment. however, he was running out of time, and you had been unexpectedly busy this past week so he's barely seen you. it's only a few days until then, and he still hasn't even found a formal outfit to wear, because he might not even go if you're not beside him.
luckily, harry had planned a time to meet with you tonight to 'study', which, again, usually involved you two sitting with open books as you chat about everything except class.
harry was on his way to the slytherin common room, a pep in his step as he tried to encourage himself to ask you without fear of rejection or judgment. it's just you, he knows you'll be kind either way, but he really wants you to say yes and he's not sure how he'll react to any other answer.
upon entering, you're already sitting and waiting for him on the sofa. slumped into the curve of the cushions, your nose buried in a book as your head is held up with a throw pillow. harry thinks you look so precious, all curled up with a book, it's tough for him to break you out of your daze.
but harry clears his throat, and you jump a little before smiling at him. "harryyy," you call out, closing your book as you throw your arms up for a hug.
harry comes over and leans down to give you a half hug. he doesn't realize just how much he's missed you until he catches a whiff of your perfume, and he's practically melting over you once again. everything about you intoxicates him.
"i've missed you, [y/n]," harry says before letting go. he sits across from you on the sofa, setting his bag down on the ground beside his feet. "i've missed you too, sorry things got so crazy," you laugh.
harry waves his hand at you. "don't worry about it. i'm just glad you were free tonight," he says, admiring you in the light of the fireplace. you just get more beautiful with time. something about you tonight is different, maybe it's your hair, maybe it's your comfy clothes, but harry's completely captivated by you in this moment.
you catch up with each other briefly, with harry mostly happily listening to you describe all the time you've spent with friends recently and the projects you've been working on for classes. he loves to listen to you tell stories, he just finds you so funny and endearing and could listen to you laugh all day if you'd let him.
after a while, harry builds the courage to bring up the dinner this weekend. he's just about to open his mouth when someone comes down the stairs into the common room.
draco, of course.
his icy stare lands on harry, and his face naturally twists in disgust. he looks at you, and the disgust drops to a neutral expressions. "[y/n]. potter." he says simply.
"hey, dray, where are you off to?" you ask, your eyes gesturing to his bag. draco shrugs, his eyes returning to harry with disdain. "just going out for a bit. need new shoes for dinner this saturday." he says, making his way to the door as he adjusts his over-the-shoulder bag.
"oh, shit, i forgot that's this weekend. do you have your suit?" you ask, your face dropping in concern. "i've got it. i'll see you later, okay?" draco says curtly as he opens the door. "okay," you say with a smile, waving as he leaves.
harry was suddenly hit with a realization he hadn't thought of before. of course. he felt so stupid not even considering it. what if you were already going with draco? he's your brother, and practically your best friend, of course you'd have to go with him.
harry tried not to think about draco much anymore, so it must've slipped his mind. he's seen him a few times since that day in your room when he found out you two were friends. mostly in passing, like what just happened, or in an awkward exchange as you went from hanging out with draco to spending time with harry like some strange divorced parent agreement.
other than that, draco was just your brother to harry, and though you brought him up a number of times, he was mostly a topic to avoid. so, harry forgot, and now he's even more nervous to ask you if you'd rather go to dinner with him this weekend.
"it's crazy draco's going to his last year dinner already…" you interrupt harry's thoughts, your voice trailing off. harry looks at you, and you're lost in thought. you look at him and smirk, reaching to push his shoulder. "and so are you! damn, you're old," you joke, trying to hide your laugh.
harry rolls his eyes, but you manage to get a laugh out of him. "have you asked someone yet? draco's taking that greengrass girl i believe, or at least he wanted to if he hasn't already chickened out," you say, still laughing.
harry can breathe a sigh of relief. he's not sure what he would've done if you were already going with draco. he had been trying to plan the perfect night since christmas.
"uh, actually, since you've already asked, i was hoping that you'd maybe like to join me?" harry asks, his eyes nervously shifting away from yours.
"oh," you say, clearly taken aback. harry's gaze meet yours again, and he's instantly sweating at your reaction. "unless, y'know, you don't want to, or…i'm sure someone's asked you already," harry interjects, trying to laugh it off entirely.
you're watching harry closely, your cheeks slowly turning red. "um, no, actually, no one's asked, and…i would love to go with you, i just…" you trail off again, your eyes still wide with surprise.
harry prepares himself for rejection. he knows there's a number of reasons you'd say no, and draco's at the top of the list.
"frankly, i have nothing to wear," you say, a bit embarrassed as your blush only deepens. harry breathes yet another sigh of relief. you always manage to put him through so many emotions and you don't even realize it.
"you could be wearing a paper bag and i'd just be glad you're standing next to me," harry tells you with a laugh. you drop your head, clearly flustered.
when you look up at harry, you have a shy smile pinching your cheeks. he thinks you look so adorable, knees to your chest, completely flushed, giggling like a nervous school girl. "well, then, i'd love to go with you, harry. but no paper bag. maybe after dinner." you tease him.
harry laughs with you, but part of him wonders if you're flirting with him a bit.
the rest of the night was spent joking, laughing, and enjoying the warmth of the fire together. before harry left, you thanked him for asking you, even if it was such short notice you'd have to spend all day shopping tomorrow. "don't feel pressured, i'm sure you'd look beautiful in whatever you already have," harry had told you, eager to get a blush out of you again.
when you did, harry smiled proudly and gave you a warm hug goodbye. he was practically skipping back to his room to tell ron he'd finally asked you, and that you'd actually said yes. ron was happy for harry, teasing him for taking so long, but nothing could bring harry down. even if he just meant it as being friendly, as he's sure you did as well, this was still a date in his mind.
and, shit, he still needed an outfit.
the night of the dinner, harry waited patiently outside the dining hall doors with his gift for you in hand. there was a soft mumbling coming from the dining hall as people began gathering, speaking to each other, and listening to the small band playing instrumental music. however, all harry can hear is his blood pumping through his ears as he nervously waits to see you for the first time tonight.
harry went for a simple suit, all black, nothing too showy or special as he wasn't sure what you were wearing. he actually hadn't been able to speak with you since the night he asked you to come with him, only agreeing to meet you right here just before he'd left the slytherin common room. his heart was pounding, and he felt like a young teen again, waiting for his crush to come around the corner. but he wasn't a kid anymore, and you were so much more than just a first year crush. you were everything.
harry hears someone walking up behind him, and as he turns, he's instantly drawn to you. walking arm in arm with draco, also dressed in all black, you're wearing a dark green dress that fits you perfectly, hugging your waist and hips like it was tailor fit. it's floor-length, with an off-the-shoulder neckline, and your hair is twisted up into a curly, elegant bun, with multiple curls hanging out for a casual look.
your outfit and hair are nothing, however, in comparison to just how beautiful your smile is.
harry's absolutely captivated by you. he knew you'd look beautiful, like he said, you could make a paper bag work, but he didn't think it was possible for a single person to be so striking. he was sure he looked like a complete fool, jaw slack open as he stared into your beautiful eyes from down the hall, but he truly couldn't help himself. you were everything.
"[y/n]," he manages to say once you're closer. "you look incredible," he says, his eyes never leaving yours. you smile, turning towards draco with a growing blush.
harry looks at draco, who's already staring at him with a tight jaw and narrowed eyes.
"draco," harry greets him, trying to be courteous. "potter," draco spits out, seeing through him.
you slightly roll your eyes, motioning for draco to go into the dining hall without you. "i'm sure daphne's waiting for you," you tease him with a smirk, pushing him along. draco gives harry a dirty look the entire time he passes him, and even until he's left the hall.
harry can't bring himself to care. all he can think about right now is you.
he's so mesmerized by you he forgets he has something in his hands, nearly dropping the slim box before gripping it tightly again, clearing his throat to break his focus.
"what's that?" you ask, looking at the simple black box in harry's grasp. harry can hear the smirk in your voice, knowing it's for you.
"i-i don't know, guess you'll have to open it to see," he says, handing it over to you. you scoff at him, still smirking as you accept the gift.
upon opening it, you gasp. a beautiful necklace with green gemstones that match your dress perfectly. "harry…" you gasped, staring at the jewelry in your hands. "it's beautiful…and, my dress, how did you know?" you ask in disbelief. harry just chuckles. "you have green everything, my little slytherin," he reminds you.
you blush again, handing harry the necklace. "put it on me?" you ask, turning around and holding up the curls that might be in his way.
harry nervously unclasped the necklace and put it on you, taking extra care to let his hands graze across the skin of your neck more times than what was necessary.
as you turn around, harry's heart races. it's perfect. it matches your dress, it looks amazing on your skin, and it pulls your entire look together. it draws the perfect amount of attention to your beautiful shoulders and collarbones. harry was extra proud of himself for this one.
looking down at it, you touch the necklace carefully, admiring it. "i spent forever looking for a necklace for tonight, and i couldn't find one i liked, but…it's perfect, harry, thank you," you say, throwing your hands around harry's neck as you embrace him tightly. harry smiles, his heart still racing as he pulls you in close. "thank you for coming with me tonight. i didn't want to come at all if it wasn't with you." he tells you, placing a soft kiss on your head just in front of your curly bun. you give him a shy smile before pulling him to the dining room.
it was an incredible night together. ron and hermione had quickly found you both, and hermione was gushing over how good you looked the entire time. ron was watching her with so much love in his eyes it made harry a little sick, but he was happy for his friends. he gave ron a knowing look, which ron just shook his head at and escorted himself and hermione away to get drinks.
as you and harry made your rounds around the room, meeting up with friends and stopping to say hello to professors, harry noticed just how many people were watching you and whispering amongst themselves. you two had spent plenty of time together this year, so it wasn't necessarily a shock to see the boy who lived hanging out with the malfoy sister anymore, but people were seemingly still stunned by the fact that you came with him tonight, and that you looked as good as you did.
after a while of mingling, harry caught draco's stare from across the room. his arm was entwined with his date's, but his full attention was on you and harry. he rolled his eyes at harry and walked away, pulling his date with him. harry shrugged him off and his attention turned back to you.
beautiful, perfect, effortless you.
your arm was wrapped around his in the same way, as it had been all night. harry expected himself to be incredibly nervous and awkward tonight seeing you so dolled up to be his date, as a friend, of course. but he was surprised at how natural everything felt with you. it always had, nothing ever felt forced between you two, conversation and smiles seemed to just flow naturally without either of you trying. it just made sense to harry, being with you, holding you close to him, being together in front of everyone. it was all he'd wanted for so long.
sitting down to eat dinner, you quickly made conversation with hermione and ron as harry took the seat to your left, admiring you as you laughed with hermione over something he hadn't heard. you just looked so beautiful tonight under these candlelights, in the necklace harry picked out for you, the jewels falling just above the curve of your breasts spilling from your dark dress.
as you leaned forward to whisper something to hermione, harry got the perfect view of your chest from his seat, his eyes lingering for a moment too long before ron noticed and started snickering at him.
harry gave ron a look, kicking his foot under the table.
once dinner is served, the hall quiets as everyone enjoys their plates and drinks. some small talk is shared between bites, multiple glasses are drunk amongst you, ron, harry, and hermione, and the laughter continues throughout dinner.
before dessert comes, you and hermione take a short trip to the bathroom, leaving harry with ron. they laugh once they're alone, out of habit.
"i know i give you a hard time, but really, harry, i think [y/n]'s good for you. i haven't seen you this smitten in a long time, not since you dated my sister," ron teases, taking a sip of his drink as he chuckles to himself.
harry gives him a look, but can't help the smile growing on his face. "thanks, ron. but we're just here as friends. not like you and hermione," harry tries to turn the teasing back to ron, cocking his eyebrow with a knowing smile.
ron rolls his eyes. "please, at least i can say she's my girlfriend. you don't wanna be friends with [y/n] and you know it," ron responds, not giving in.
harry stays quiet.
as you and hermione return, giggling from across the table, you put a hand on harry's neck down to his shoulder to steady yourself as you sat in your dress.
harry got the shivers, but gave you a friendly smile as you met his eyes. you took back your hand, smiling at him in return.
while eating dessert, harry can feel draco staring at him again from somewhere in the room, but he can't bring himself to care enough to find his gaze. if draco wants to watch harry enjoy his date with draco's beautiful sister, he can spend all night watching for all that harry cares.
harry's thoughts are interrupted as he hears you let out a soft moan beside him. your spoon is left in your mouth as you pull it out slowly, your eyes closed delicately. harry watches discreetly, not wanting to draw ron and hermione's attention from their own conversation, but he's enamored with the way you let the spoon leave your lips, enjoying the dessert in front of you.
"so yummy," you say happily, your eyes rolling over to harry. he turns to look at you fully with a chuckle. "yes, very yummy," he teases you.
you narrow your eyes at him. "you're yummy," you tell him, laughing. harry's stunned before you continue. "i didn't even get to tell you, but you do look really good tonight, harry. you clean up well." you say softly, your words just for him.
harry's still a bit stunned, but tried to not let his nerves get in the way. "well, thank you, [y/n]. and, i never got to tell you as much as i should have tonight, but, you just…amaze me with how stunning you are," harry sighs, not caring how lovesick he looks as he continues to admire you, a true work of art sitting right beside him.
you chuckle, taking your bottom lip in your mouth. harry memorizes every detail of you, never wanting to forget how lucky he is to have you beside him tonight.
"thank you, harry. it was a bit difficult for me, all this, just reminds me of home…" you say, gesturing to the grand dinner party going on around you. harry gives you a sympathetic look and a reassuring hand on your knee. you look at him, your eyes sending more shivers down harry's spine.
"we can leave whenever you're ready," harry tells you with a soft smile and lingering gaze. "you just say the word and we'll go 'study' in pajamas," he's only half joking.
you laugh at him again, but harry believes it's full of love. "there's nowhere i'd rather be," you assure him, putting your own hand on his knee.
harry blushes like crazy at the contact, but just laughs you off again.
after dessert the band starts playing more upbeat music, and the floor is cleared towards the front of the room for people to dance. you pull harry to the floor, along with a number of other couples, and start dancing with him. harry's not a very skilled dancer, so he just follows your lead and has fun moving around with you randomly, letting himself be free as the music and other people dancing relaxes his nerves.
after a while of dancing separately, you grab harry's hand and begin dancing closer to him, still laughing and smiling as you twirl yourself around, making him laugh as well. harry starts playfully moving with you, bringing you closer to him and further away, again and again until you're a giggling mess in his arms, practically falling all over him.
just as harry's enjoying the feeling of you in his arms, draco comes out of nowhere just beside him. "[y/n]," he snaps, trying to contain himself.
you look at draco, your smile fading at his irritated expression. "i'm leaving, just thought you should know." his words bitter, examining you entwined in harry's arms.
"draco," you start to say, but he's already making his way around you to the back door. you try to go after him instinctually, but harry pulls you back. "stay here, i'll talk to him," he says, surprising both you and himself as you turn to look at him. hermione comes up beside harry, watching the interaction from afar.
"harry…" you warn him. but harry gives you a reassuring squeeze of the hand, already heading for the door himself. "trust me?" he says, letting you go and turning away as hermione grabs your hand instead and begins asking what happened.
as harry enters the hallway, he sees draco's turned back heading away from the dining hall.
"draco," harry calls out, causing draco to stop in his tracks.
he turns to harry, an odd look on his face before he scoffs. "did she really send you to try and talk to me, or are you just dumber than i originally thought?" draco responds, shoving his hand in his pocket.
"no, i came to talk to you. i'm tired of this, draco. can't you just let [y/n] and i be friends?" harry asks, trying to contain his own anger.
draco only rolls his eyes harder, making his way towards harry with an angry step. "oh, please, potter, you're not fooling anyone. and, frankly, neither is she anymore." draco retorts, stopping a few feet away from harry with a nod to the dining hall doors.
harry's confused at his statement, and draco can tell just from the look on his face, which only makes him angrier. "you're clearly shagging my sister. and to top it all off, you made her your little date for the night in front of everyone here. and, honestly, you should be kissing the ground i walk on for letting you even so much as look at her, you fucking pig." draco's words are dripping venom, clearly having the words ready to spew in harry's face.
harry is dumbfounded, and actually outwardly laughs at draco's statement. draco takes another step towards harry, visibly turning red with anger. "don't make me fucking kill you, i'd hate to hurt my sister's feelings like that."
harry just continues to chuckle, his arms crossing. "well, as flattered as i am that you think she'd shag me, we're just friends. really." harry informs him, a smirk on his face.
draco looks at him confused, his expression falling for only a moment before returning. "well then, you still clearly like her. and you're not very good at hiding it, either." he says, his voice faltering as he steps back.
harry can't disagree with him there. as much as he hates draco, he's not going to lie to him and say he doesn't have feelings for his sister when he knows he does. it's just not right.
"and so what if i do, huh? it's our last month of classes, malfoy. after this you'll never hear her talk about me again. is that what you want? because that's what's going to happen." harry says, his anger seeping through again as he admits what he believes to be true.
draco is in even more disbelief than before. he just looks at harry like he's joking. "are you being serious or are you trying to fuck with me?" he asks, examining harry from head to toe.
harry's even more confused. "what?"
draco turns away, chuckling to himself in both disbelief and anger. "i was right, you are dumber than i thought," he starts out, giving harry a look before turning away again. harry's hands ball into fists before he releases them, letting out an angry huff.
"[y/n]'s clearly all over you, spending all her time with you, you're all she ever bloody talks about anymore, fucking hell i thought you were shagging her, for god's sake," draco rants, his back still turned to harry. "she's been obsessed with you since we were kids. all she ever asked me, 'what's harry like, draco? is harry potter really that brave, draco?' blah blah blah," draco mocks you in a high pitched voice.
"and just when i thought she had found some sense in her and loathed you along with me for a few years, you trapped her again with your fucking namesake and…god knows what else she sees in you," draco sneers back at harry, turning to him once again.
"so yeah, excuse me while i watch my baby sister, my only solace in this lifetime, practically throw herself all over you at this pathetic party," draco gestures back to the room, his eyes cold as ice as he continues staring through harry.
harry's stunned by draco's outburst, but is more stunned that he thinks you may like harry back.
they stand there for a moment, examining each other, draco breathing heavily and unevenly as he tries to regain his composure.
harry's not sure exactly what he should say to him in this moment, so he just speaks the truth, the only thing he knows. "i care about [y/n], draco,"
draco rolls his eyes for another time. "no, really, draco. i do, and i have this whole time. i don't know if she feels the same, but, quite honestly, i don't care. all i know is that she makes me happy, and i hope i can do the same for her. that's all." harry tells draco, his eyes searching for a response.
draco just watches harry for a moment, his expression unreadable as he finds the words to respond.
he sighs, his body language completely shifting as he turns away from harry, his hand covering his face in distress. "you're an idiot if you think she doesn't. she turned her back on us, on me, because she was fighting for you. she was never like my parents." draco says softly, his anger fading.
"she was fighting for what was right." harry reminds him, making draco laugh sarcastically as he moves on.
"you know, she's the only thing i care about. the only person i not only tolerate, but actually love." draco says even softer before turning to scowl at harry again. "when she chose you that day, i wasn't surprised. i wasn't even mad. [y/n]'s always been that way. it's part of the reason why i keep her so close to me." draco's words are the nicest they've been directed at harry all night.
"now i know you wouldn't understand family love, potter," draco smirks, causing harry to bite his tongue. "but that girl is everything to me. when she trusts you, when she believes in you, when she turned her back to me in hopes i could see what she sees in you…" draco trails off a bit before turning away again.
"i know she's right."
harry's more than shocked at draco's words. he can barely process his sentiment before draco continues talking, making his way down the hall.
"so, again, i may not like it, but i'll try to be civil. if you, just, please, potter," draco turns one last time, a slight smirk on his face. "for my sake. just ask the damn girl on a date so she'll shut the hell up about it."
with that, draco's gone and around the corner, out of harry's sight.
harry's left alone with his thoughts, the muffled music from the dining hall filling the air around him.
he can hardly comprehend what draco's just told him, both about you and about his belief in harry. but mostly when it comes to you.
you. alone in the dining hall.
just as harry turns, you're opening the door, your sweet face twisted with worry as you search the halls behind him. "where's draco?" you ask urgently, making your way out of the doorway as it closes behind you.
harry's hands go to your shoulders, and you look at him. he smiles down at you, his mind spinning as he examines your beautiful face still pointed with concern.
"he's fine. we talked."
you give harry another shocked look like earlier, your mouth slightly open. "you and draco?" you ask in disbelief.
harry just chuckles at you, looking you up and down again to fully appreciate just how good you looked in front of him. "have i told you how beautiful you look tonight?" harry asks, his eyes still wandering. knowing you seem to like him as well, harry takes this opportunity to test the waters with you.
you instantly blush, but you give harry a knowing look. "yes, harry. now, what did you talk about?" you ask suspiciously.
harry, again, just chuckles, pulling you to his side as he turns to the hall. "let's get out of here, hm?" he asks, already leading you away.
"oh, but, hermione and ron?" you ask suddenly, gesturing back to the party. harry shakes his head. "they won't mind."
you're a bit confused as harry continues to lead you towards the gryffindor common room, but he distracts you with plenty of compliments and questions asking if you enjoyed yourself tonight.
harry then leads you to his room where his nerves finally hit him. he had been confident until now, but it was make or break time. if draco was right and you did actually like harry, he was finally ready to make his move.
what that move was exactly, he's not sure.
but again, things with you are so natural, and once you close the door, it only feels right for harry to come up to you against the doorway. he smiles down at you, a nervous, blushing, beautiful angel just within his grasp.
without thinking, harry's mouth does the talking for him.
"[y/n]," he starts, his heart racing as you look up at him innocently. "can i kiss you?"
you're clearly shocked by his question, but don't miss the chance to eagerly nod your head, already leaning towards harry. he smiles, gently pushing you against the door as his lips finally lock with yours.
the kiss is urgent, needy, but full of longing and love. your hands find their way to harry's neck instantly, and his continue to linger against your shoulders. your body arches into his, clearly already wanting more just from a short kiss.
harry isn't stopping anytime soon though, as he's thought of this moment longer than he's planned to ask you to dinner tonight.
he savors everything about your kiss. your enchanting smell, the softness of your lips, the moans rumbling from the back of your throat; all of it is driving him crazy, but he's insistent on enjoying the moment for what it simply was. a kiss he's wanted so long from a beautiful girl he thought he could never have.
however, you're not as keen on savoring anything as you only become more desperate under harry's lips. your tongue is quickly involved, though harry's not complaining as you explore his mouth with hunger.
he's a bit flustered at your boldness, but isn't afraid of it. if anything harry only enjoys seeing you quickly submit to your desire for him. he wasn't sure how this would go, but clearly you've wanted this as badly as he has, if not even worse.
his hands finally begin to wander as he traces your collarbones lightly, his fingers running over the jewels of the necklace he bought you. "look so pretty in my gift," harry tells you between kissing you. you moan in response, your hips finding harry's as you only bring him closer to you.
before long you're dragging harry to his bed, his hands falling from your shoulders to your waist and down to your hips.
you sit on his bed, and your hand instantly lands on harry's belt, lingering fingers on the cold metal. harry just looks at you in shock. he didn't expect you to initiate anything like this so quickly.
"u-uh…" is all he can say with you looking up at him like that, your eyes already drooping so seductively as you messed with his buckle innocently.
"please?" you taunt him, your finger making its way down his semi erected cock under his slacks.
harry sighs. he wants to, he really wants to, but he wonders if it's too much all at once for you. he doesn't want you to think this is all he was looking for.
"[y/n]...i, i really like you…you don't have to–""i like you too, harry," you interrupt him, a sweet smile on your bitten lips. "i want this. so bad. please. you don't have to, but…" you practically beg, your fingers still toying with the latch of the belt as you bring your pouted lips closer to it.
harry sighs again, his hand stroking your hair as he admires you from above. so pretty, so innocent. it's like you wanted him to ruin all of that.
"i want to, but, you don't have to," harry reminds you, his cheeks starting to turn red. you giggle, and it only makes harry even more turned on. "i want to, but, you don't have to," you mock him, slowly unbuckling his belt and slacks.
harry chuckles nervously, watching you intently. he really does want to, and as long as you want to as well, who's he to deny you of what you both want?
soon your mouth is wrapped around the tip of his cock through his briefs, your warm tongue laid flat across the head as you continue watching harry's expression through your eyelashes.
his head is rolling back in pleasure already, his erection only getting more uncomfortable as it hardens in response to you.
you help him take his underwear off, and your lips reattach to the head of his cock, your tongue licking his precum. he's watching you with a lax jaw, his eyebrows furrowed as you continue running your tongue in circles around the sensitive tip.
he's already in pure bliss, his hand finding your hair again as he continues to admire you. even when you're in such a filthy position below him, you still look so soft and beautiful.
from this angle he has the perfect view of your breasts, and you notice his eyes flickering from your own down to your chest. pulling your lips off of harry, you pull down the neckline of your dress and let your tits pop out of the restricting fabric.
harry can hardly believe the sight he's witnessing in front of him.
before he can try to process just how incredibly sexy you look with your elegant dress pulled down below your tits, your mouth returned to his throbbing cock, along with your hands. you start to bring more of him into your mouth, using your hands to stroke him slowly. harry was practically thrusting into your hands and mouth at that point, desperate for relief.
you can see how worked up harry's getting, so you stop, much to his disappointment. you have harry lay on his bed as you make a show taking your dress the rest of the way off along with your shoes and stockings. once you're left only in your panties, you get back on top of harry to kiss him again.
"so fucking beautiful, darling," harry growls into your lips, his hands grabbing for your tits. you giggle, your hands going to harry's button up as you start to take it off of him.
once it comes off, you pull harry back into the kiss. his hand travel down to your hips as you start grinding against his throbbing cock. "baby, please," he pleads, the teasing becoming too much.
you giggle again, sliding your panties off carefully with harry's help. he also helps you line yourself up with him as you slowly lower yourself onto harry's cock.
your eyes roll in pleasure, a slight whimper of discomfort escaping your lips as harry's hand goes to your face, comforting you. "slow, my love," he reminds you, guiding your hips with his other hand.
once you're starting to moan in pleasure, your speed increases, your eyes locking with harry's as you already feel pressure begin to build inside you.
just looking at him makes you whimper pathetically. "god, harry, i've wanted this for so long," you tell him, leaning down for another kiss as you readjust your position on top of him.
harry's hands trace the curves of your body as you continue riding him, his thoughts incoherent as the pleasure rises by the second. your heavy breathing into his ear and beautiful body against his in the lowlight of his room is everything he's ever wanted.
"wanted you so bad, [y/n]," harry moans as you sit back up, your tits bouncing as you grind down into harry's cock.
he admires your body, your perfect curves, your insane hips, and he's even more turned on. you're already truly perfect in every way, but you have the most phenomenal body harry's ever witnessed to top it all off.
"you're perfect," he tells you, his hands gripping for your hips and ass. you giggle, your hand covering your flustered smile as you continue whimpering and whining, riding him into your own oblivion.
"h-harry…" your voice is so broken it only makes harry hungrier, his hips thrusting upwards slightly into you to relieve the tension. "fuck," he cries, his eyes going dark just watching you fall apart for him.
"harry…please…" you lean back down, your lips grazing his ear as you made your request. "cum inside me?"
harry's in disbelief, he pulls you back to see if you're joking, but you're only looking at him hopefully through hooded eyes, still riding his cock in perfect rhythm.
"are you crazy, [y/n]?" he asks with a laugh, his eyes searching yours for any sign of sarcasm, his stomach still tightening in overwhelming pleasure.
"yes. for you." you tell him seriously, your pace quickening on top of him, your tits bouncing against harry's chest. he winces from the rush of pleasure.
"f-fuck, [y/n]," he utters, barely able to hold himself bsck.
you moan, your hands grabbing harry's as you pin them down beside him. "mm, keep moaning my name like that, harry, you're gonna make me cum already…" you tell him, your face resting against his.
harry moans your name repeatedly, only getting more and more desperate as you pleasure yourself using his cock. he was almost completely lost in the moment before you squealed, your hands squeezing harry's as you tightened around his cock, your hips stuttering as you ride out your high, breathing heavily.
harry's overwhelmed with the feeling and sight of you orgasming on him, your face twisting as you moan his name in return, filthy sounds escaping your innocent lips. he's getting closer before he remembers what you asked him.
"i'm, [y/n], i'm gonna cum," harry says as you're still moving your hips to satisfy your climax. you moan again, letting your head fall into harry's neck as you continue holding down his hands. your pace quickens again, and harry is a mess under you.
"cum inside me harry, please, give it to me, i'm yours, i want to be all yours, please, please, harry, breed me and make my pussy yours," you have no shame in begging harry, his hips bucking as you only grind against him quicker.
"fuck, fuck, fuck," harry's cursing, slightly in panic. he wants to cum so badly, and the idea of you wanting him to breed you just from the first time you're together makes him even more turned on. part of him is scared, but it only ends up fueling the desire and taboo more as harry finally unloads inside of you, his voice breaking as he continues cursing between heavy breaths.
you're enjoying the moment thoroughly, your pussy quivering as it's filled with harry's warm cum. you go to give him another kiss, and he can barely reciprocate.
you giggle at harry a bit, wincing as you gently pull his cock outside of you. harry groans, but his eyes remained closed, still catching his breath. you offer to help him clean up, and it takes a moment, but he agrees, following you to his bathroom and admiring your naked body in the soft light of the room.
afterwards, harry insists you stay with him for the night as he hands you one of his favorite shirts to sleep in. you accept, laughing at his lovesick attitude already, and climb into bed beside him for the night.
harry can hardly believe he has you in his arms, finally, after being so captivated by you for practically his whole life. he's thankful to have you next to him, smiling as you trace his skin, telling him how much you've liked him this whole time, how you don't care if your parents don't approve, and how much you need him in your life. harry feels at peace with you, his little slytherin, in his bed, the moon the only source of light across your tired face. he truly finds you so beautiful, inside and out.

Harry Potter did not go on to be an Auror.
After 18 years of bloodshed and battle, he simple didn't want it anymore.
He didn't want to see his family fall into curtains and his friends get possessed and pedestrians get slaughtered.
He no longer could bare the brute of the reliance that the world held on him. He no longer could withstand the flashing lights of wizard paparazzi and the degrading words of Rita Skeeter.
He couldn't stand being the Chosen One. The Boy Who Lived. The Hero.
He could only stand to be Harry.
Just Harry.
Harry who, after finishing his 8th year, declined the offer from the ministry to automatically become an Auror. Harry who, after taking a bit to think about it, realized he didn't know anything about himself. Harry who, after hugging everyone goodbye, took a year away from Britain and traveled the world, intent on finding out who exactly he was outside of his 'birthright'.
And it was time well spent.
He adored Quidditch, but he craved to be out playing football and trying to see how far he could kick the ball.
He devoured Treacle tart, but he found an odd obsession with pumpkin flavored desserts and an affinity for baking them.
He liked girls, but he loved boys and dated a few before heading back home.
And after that long year of travel where he thought he had learned everything about himself that there was to know, upon his return, Harry learned one more thing.
Draco Malfoy.
It had been a random Tuesday, just days after he had gotten back, when an announcement in the Daily Prophet informed him that Dracos house arrest was finally up and he could now leave the confines of Malfoy Manor.
And that had been enough. That little bit of information had had him pulling on his trainers and walking out the front door.
After a dazed trip to the Manor, one that he would never really know how he even got there, Harry had knocked on the door perhaps a tad bit too insistent.
Enter Draco.
Draco who was more pale than ever. Draco who still had the prettiest grey eyes Harry had ever seen. Draco who had tufts of snow white hair sticking up in every other direction, almost as if, even in his spare time, he loved to mock Harry.
Draco who was wearing a night robe and a tired (but slightly surprised) glare.
Oh, yeah, it was 6 a.m..
And after a sheepish apology and what was basically Harry inviting himself in for tea, they caught up with one another.
Well it was more Harry sharing his year away and Draco sharing light hearted stories about his peacocks and this one time where he was allowed to have a few people over but that didn't stop Harry from hanging onto his every word.
And then began the weekly visits.
Mostly spent at Draco's because he was still adjusting to being able to leave but Harry would gladly go where Draco wanted to be.
But then the visits became an every Saturday and Sunday.
And then a Wednesday got thrown into the mix.
And then it was an every other day.
And then Harry was at Malfoy Manor on another Tuesday, Draco actually expected him this time, and he was holding a bottle of wine.
He had been there the night before and the night before that and the night before that. Their last bottle had been demolished and it was Harry's turn to provide the alcohol.
They finished the new bottle that night.
Harry woke up in an unfamiliar bed with a heavy weight on top of his body and white hair tickling his nose.
After that morning, their visits really were no longer visits but simply two people living together.
So, no, Harry didn't fulfill his 'dream' of being an Auror.
He lived at Malfoy Manor.
He played football in their large lawn and scared the peacocks.
He baked pumpkin desserts and all their friends came over to try them.
He had a boyfriend.
He had Draco and he was Harry.
Just Harry.

sweaterpaw | draco malfoy
pairing: draco x reader
word count: 0,6k
summary: where y/n admires draco while he is passionately talking
a/n: this warms my heart and i hope it has the same effect on you <3 feedback and reblogs are always appreciated!
warnings: mentions of body shape (reader is small)
universe: harry potter
Looking deeply into each other's eyes, your limbs entangled on the soft sheets, you are completely immersed in your own little world, hidden from the outside to see. Moments like these are what makes your relationship so much more valueable. In a world so cruel and unforgiving, you have found your safe place where you can be yourself and do not have to worry about anything.
The sun outside is slowly setting as you still have not moved from the mattress, too focused on Draco who has been very talkative throughout the whole day. When you think back to the boy you first met, you can't believe it was the same boy as the one before you right now. He has finally found his safe place in you, being able to open up and talk about everything that is on his mind.
Draco loves having you so close to him, if not even closer, side by side, facing each other with your heads on the pillow, the tips of your noses almost touching. He loves how your eyes switch between his every so often, listening and actually hearing everything he is saying like it is the most important thing in the world. He loves how you have made it a habit of yours to always steal his green sweaters, making them your own even though they are a bit too big on your frame. With his right hand, he twirls your hair around his finger as he continues to talk about his day.
"I think we will actually win the game on the weekend. We have been training so hard these past few weeks", Draco explains, confident about his skills as a seeker in the Slytherin Quidditch team. At the thought of seeing him in his cute green Quidditch jersey, a smile crosses your lips that you can't hold back. Draco notices this, huffing out a laugh as he is looking right into your mind, ruffling your hair.
"The Quidditch league is coming to an end soon as well. If Puddlemere United doesn't bring the cup home this time, I swear I'm gonna-"
At this, Draco suddenly stops himself because you put your sweaterpaw onto his cheek, cupping it with the most affectionate smile he has ever seen. You couldn't stop yourself. Hearing him talk so passionately about his favorite things made something in your chest bloom, increasing the beat of your heart and making you admire him even more.
In Draco's eyes, seeing you in his big sweater, laying your soft sweaterpaw on his cheeks with so much love in your eyes, is the cutest sight he has ever laid eyes on. And he sees you everyday.
Before you can tell him to go on so you can listen to his voice until the middle of the night, brushing the soft fabric along his cheek carefully, he puts one hand on top of yours, pulling you closer with the other so he can kiss you straight away. You lean into him, enjoying the feeling of his lips against yours even though you have not seen it coming.
Draco can't help himself. He finds you so cute and adorable that he wants to shower you with all the affection you deserve and more. Leaving your lips and trailing kisses along your neck, you slightly giggle which he takes as an invitation to place a lot more kisses all over your face - nose, cheeks, forehead, he does not miss a spot. Beneath him, you are squirling with laughter, trying to stop him from smooching you everywhere.
After he decides he has covered every single spot on your face, he pulls you into the softest hug, breathing out contenly when you find a comfortable position in his arms.
"I don't tell you this enough but I love you, Y/N. With all my heart", he gently whispers, smoothing down your hair.
"I love you too, Draco."

Miracles don't exist | 13: An eventful summer
Genre(s): Riddle!reader / Slytherin!reader / kinda slowburn / little happy moments Fandom(s): Harry Potter Pairing(s): Theodore Nott x Reader / Harry Potter x Riddle!reader Summary: Being the Dark Lord's daughter and raised under the strict supervision of the Malfoy's is no easy life. Especially if you start crushing on your father's arch-nemesis, Harry Potter. And that while being engaged to one of his follower’s sons. Warning(s): We love an avoidant queen / talk about death and torture [Masterlist] [Mini masterlist] [Playlist]
You trail after Draco and your aunt as they make their way over to the train. You have no desire to speak, especially to your aunt. Not after she stood by and said nothing.
"I suppose I can't stay at school during the winter break?", you ask as Aunt Cissy makes sure that not a hair on Draco's head is out of place.
You turn your head away as your aunt tries to hug you. A look of hurt flashes on her face before she smiles sadly. "I'm afraid not, honey."
With nothing else left to say, you board the train. As you make your way towards where you usually sit with Draco's friends, you stop. Before you can discreetly turn around and spend the rest of the trip alone your eyes meet those of Theodore.
He straitens up in his seat, even raises to his feet. His eyes are almost hopeful and his lips parted. Practically begging you to come to sit next to him. Begging you to talk to him.
You haven't answered a single letter Theodore had sent you after that dreadful day. Because you realised that now you bear that mark, you aren't safe for him. Voldemort must know that Theodore means something to you. Merlin knows he can dangle Theodore's life before you if you don't do what he says.
And that can't happen.
So, you've decided to cut all contact with Theodore. And as torture, you've kept all letters. Even the single letter he sent to Draco, asking him to talk to you. To make you talk to him. You've made Draco lie and say that you've received no letters.
Those letters have kept you sane in a house filled with Death Eaters. And you've brought them with you. You feel them in the inside pocket of your jacket. And they weigh you down.
Averting your eyes, you turn around and hurry towards the other end of the train. You don't hear your name being called or feel him follow you. Good. Great even.
You pass a closed compartment, but its door slides quickly open and your name is being called. Hermione stands in the opening, a genuine smile on her face as she invites you in.
She makes Ron sit next to Harry so you can sit next to the window. That way there is no easy escape for you.
"How was your summer?" You're quick to ask the question, so you don't have to answer it yourself.
The trio give each other looks. "Eventful", says Harry eventually. You raise your eyebrows and Harry tells you about how he was attacked by Dementors, how he was expelled for using the pratonus charm, and the hearing at the Ministry.
You shake your head. "In the name of Slytherin's monster. Is your cousin okay?"
Harry shrugs. "Dunno. I left for Grimmault Place quickly thereafter."
Leaning back in your seat, you notice how hot it is on the train. Sliding off your jacket, the letters slip out of the inside pocket and spill all over the floor.
"Shit", you mutter and crouch down to grab them.
Hermione goes to help you but gasps as soon as she sees the bandage on your left arm. You quickly pull down your sleeve — which has ridden up with picking up the letters.
"What happened to you?!" She wants to reach out, but you pull your arm towards your chest.
You can't say what truly happened. That would mean your death. You're sure Harry would strangle you with his bare hands. "I tried to bake last week but I burned my arm on the doors of the oven. It's pretty nasty."
Ron raises his eyebrows sceptically. "Why didn't you get a healer to fix it?"
Shit. Right. "I'm not actually allowed into the kitchen at home..." Good safe.
The truth behind your bandaged arm is that you don't know how else you could hide the Dark Mark.
The redhead seems to be satisfied with your answer and drops the hostile position.
You give Hermione a smile, but she looks concerned. "Are you sure you're okay? You look... tired." She gives your shoulder a reassuring squeeze that says that you can tell her anything.
But you can't. At least not this.
"Yeah, no. I'm fine. Just tired. And happy to go back to school."
The subject of you gets dropped after that. The trio understand — with all that they went through — when someone doesn't want to talk about it. And you're glad they do.
You walk with them towards the carriages that take you to Hogwarts when you encounter your cousin and friends. He tries to intimidate Harry, but the boy quickly advances towards the boy. If Ron didn't hold him back, you were sure Harry would have punched Draco.
Theodore slows in his steps and looks at you. You meet his eyes and quickly look away. A guilty feeling gnaws at your heart at the hurt look on his face.
"What's with you and Theodore Nott?", asks Hermione as she catches the silent exchange. "You two seemed so... happy before summer."
You look sadly at the back of the boy's brown curls. How can you explain that Voldemort has taken residence in your home and that, in your mind, the only thing you can do to protect Theodore from the Dark Lord is pushing him away?
You contemplate your words as you wait for a carriage, Neville catching up to you four. As you want to answer you hear Harry question what is pulling the carriages. You turn around and gasp out.
What once was pulled by magic, now stands a black, leathery creature with white eyes and looks so meagre, it's almost emaciated.
"It's beautiful", you whisper, stepping closer to the black... horse? You reach out a hand and touch the beak of the creature.
You've heard about the creatures before. Only people who stared death in the eyes can see them. The petrified look of the dead muggle flashes through your mind and you clamp your eyes shut, willing the tears not to spill.
"Don't worry, you're just as sane as I am", says a dreamy voice from into the carriage and all five of you look up. Luna Lovegood. Pale hair and even paler skin. A Ravenclaw girl a year below you. And that's all you know about her.
The ride to the castle is spent in silence with Luna trying to start a conversation but is met with awkward silence. It doesn't seem like she minds.
You dread the moment you have to go to the Slytherin table for the feast. Sitting as far away from your cousin, you watch how some toad-faced lady from the Ministry is introduced as the new DADA professor. She interrupts Dumbledore's speech, and a soft gasp makes its way through the Great Hall. Umbridge's speech makes one thing clear, and that is that it is another year with a worthless teacher.
Just when you need a decent one the most.
"You've been ignoring me." A bag drops on the table you occupy in the library. It's the farthest one away from everybody, on the top floor in between bookshelves nobody uses. And it annoys you that someone has found you.
Term has been going on for a handful of weeks. The new DADA teacher, Dolores Umbridge, is a worthless teacher and only gives theory lessons. She says that there is no need for you to practice the spells. Sucks to be a practical learner I guess.
So, you've taken the need to study more as an opportunity to avoid Draco and his friends.
"I'm not ignoring you, Draco. I'm just busy studying for the O.W.L.s. Like you should do." You glare at him before turning back to read the same page over since he dropped into your space.
Draco's posture seems to slump a bit before he leans closer. "You should talk to Nott. He's been going practically crazy ever since you've been giving him the cold shoulder."
Slamming your book shut loudly, you turn angry towards your cousin. "Drop. It", you hiss between teeth. "You know why and you know it's for his own safety."
Draco rolls his eyes. "Please. I would feel honoured to bear it."
Sudden anger boils in the pit of your stomach. You don't know what possesses you, but you angrily take Draco by the front of his blouse and pull him closer to you. "You don't know how it feels. I feel it. I feel it slither under my skin, pulsate and burn. I feel him. His lingering presence, breathing down my neck.
"So don't tell me what to feel. The only thing I feel is anger and the want to cut my fucking arm off."
You release him and collect your books. The wide-eyed scared look brings satisfaction to you as you stomp out of the library.

For the ship game: Hinny.
I know you ship it but I'm interested in your answers.
I honestly don't know what gave it away lolol
What made you ship it? I don't remember not shipping Hinny? It did intensify over the years. The general rule seems to be 'Does it give me bi panic?' If it does there's a good chance I ship it. I just feel like we see over time how they grow to know each other, become friends etc I just think it works. I love strong female characters and Ginny definitely is one. Harry also needs someone who will yell back when he is being a little dumb and she does. They just make each other happy and they understand each other's trauma. My favourite moment and probably the moment I started shipping it was when Ginny was sitting against his legs in the common room talking about his 'tattoo'. There was something about the casualness of their proximity, sitting together like that and the fact they could joke together like that, that made me go 'oh yes good'
What are your favorite things about the ship? The fact that Harry is such a broody person but he sees Ginny and he is literally the happiest person in the room. Has a gigantic row with his friends after almost killing Draco but Ginny sided with him and yelled at Hermione? This boy is on cloud nine while everyone is moping. And the fact that she calls him out on his bullshit. love that
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Well there are two VERY divided camps on this but I do think they got together very soon after the war. There is two reasons for that. First of all the fact that Ginny accepts why he wants to break up and that she understands what he wants to do. I think she understands what she is getting into and she is just glad he is not in fact dead. Doesn't mean they don't have stuff to unpack but I don't think it would be that big of a hurdle in actually getting back together. Two is that even when they are broken up, they literally just hold hands?? to comfort each other as they wait for the rest to return with the Seven Potters mission. They're just like that and once they know what it's like to be together, they just keep doing it. That and Harry, scared of crying girls, Potter knows exactly how to comfort Ginny and actually WANTS to comfort her bc he can't stand to see her sad. So what with the funerals and losing Fred etc I think he would very naturally want to comfort her so I think they would hold a lot of hands and hugs which would turn into kisses and more gradually because they both need comfort and they know well how to be that for each other.

A Christmas away from home
Word 1: Forest
"Just a little bit more. Watch your foot, try not to trip." Harry said as he held onto Draco with a blindfold around his eyes.
"Whatever it is, I hope it's as good for all the struggle you're putting me through." Draco said as he took a cautious step.
They walked a little bit more to what Draco could only assume was a forest until they finally came to a halt and Harry softly took off Draco's blindfold.
Harry stood beside Draco for a moment as he took it all in before he stepped ahead and started, "I know it's not a lot. I could only ask Pansy for so much help and I know this won't be as sophisticated as your Christmas but I wanted to give you your own sophisticated celebration with just the two of us so we can have our own type of Christmas celebration."
The thing was, this year Draco was unable to go back home for Christmas because of the ongoing court procedures still running around after the war. Both Draco and his parents believed that it would be better if he didn’t come home that year but It came up only a few days ago in a conversation while they were in the great hall after hours when Draco finally said the the reason he was sad is because he couldn't go home for the holidays and despite being at home wasn’t the best, he liked the warm feeling of decorating christmas tree, hanging around decorations, having a small party of their own and how it is the one day of the year he enjoyed being at home the most because nobody said anything to him. He misses all of that.
Harry came forward and took Draco’s hands in his both his hands and said, “Look, I know this isn’t the same. It probably is not even half as close to the party you may have or the christmas tree may not be as giant as your house but I just couldn’t see you being bummed out because of it.”
“Harry- this is- Why?” Draco couldn’t bring himself to say anything else.
“Why what?”
“Why would you do this? And how? Like I just don’t get it.” Draco fumbled with his own words because he was too overwhelmed.
Harry chuckled, “Because I wanted you to feel at home for Christmas and I’m quite seriously dying to listen that I am unfunny as hell and you haven’t said that in a week.”
Draco gave him a small chuckle and then turned away from Harry as tears glimmered in his eyes.
“Draco,” Harry softly said as he hugged Draco from behind, nuzzling his face into his neck, comforting him and he said after a while, “Will you celebrate Christmas with me?”
Draco finally nodded, pushing away the happy tears that came in his eyes.
“Shall we?” Harry asked when Draco finally turned around and he took Draco’s hand in his own again and intertwined them together. Draco nodded and they walked around the small area Harry had decorated with golden fairy lights, a very small christmas tree and a table in the center with bunch of candles lit over it.
“So, how is this going to work?” Draco finally asked as he took all of it in.
“I’m glad you asked. First, we’ll have dinner which by the way, I did not cook because you and I both know that I am a terrible cook sometimes and I didn’t want to risk a perfect evening. Next, we’ll actually hang a bunch of stuff on that small Christmas tree, then I’ll show the gifts I bought you, and then I have a little surprise for you and that would be the last thing for the evening and finally end today with a kiss.” Harry explained thoroughly.
“I can’t believe you’ve inserted kissing as a part of your masterplan, Harry.” Draco smiled.
“Monsieur, kissing is the most essential part of the evening.” Harry said emphasizing the from the sentence with almost too much pride that Draco wondered how much could he possibly love this man without any reason but there seemed no end.
And as planned, they did all the things Harry had planned for the evening, from dinner to gifts that Draco promised to give Harry the next morning, until it came to the final surprise for the evening.
“So, what’s the surprise?” Draco asked as he stepped closer to Harry and ran his hand through his hair.
Harry visibly blushed but composed himself too soon and accioed the brooms.
“Ever since you took time off Quidditch, I’ve felt very lonely about playing Quidditch because I have no opponent I like but I’ve noticed how much you miss flying and I know that its your favourite thing in the world,So,” Harry took a pause and bought Draco’s hands close and kissed it softly and continued, “Will you do me the honour of flying with me this evening?”
Draco looked at Harry for a moment longer than two, feeling his heart beat louder and his heart growing fonder and fonder for this boy with the most atrocious hair he could ever come across but damn him, he was feeling too many things for Harry at once that he doubted if it was humanly possible to do so.
He smiled at Harry and then nodded his head, “I’d be very happy to fly with you, Harry Potter.”
Harry grinned back and handed one of the brooms to Draco and he himself took one before both of them mounted it and took off in the air.
They flew far high in the air and in circles, screaming and laughing all it off for far too long until they naturally grew tired and came to a halt next to each other, hanging mid air.
Draco let out a long breath, still smiling, “I never realised how beautiful Hogwarts look from up here.”
Harry smiled as well, “Hogwarts has always been beautiful, its just that this is the first time you’re encountering it during the best time of the year.”
“How do you know this?”
“I came here once during the 6th year, I was just flying to get things clear off my mind when I saw this. Its astonishing really how you can be around something for so long but never realise how beautiful or good it really is.” Harry said.
It was true honestly. Hogwarts looked the most beautiful castle in the whole world at the moment and it wasn’t just about the castle, it was about everything in and out, the lights, the snow, hogsmeade, the giant Christmas tree, it all looked so beautiful and Draco couldn’t believe he has never seen it before. But the most beautiful thing at the time was being in the air with Harry.
Draco kept looking at Harry so fondly for so long that he forgot he had to even look away all the while wondering how did he ever get so lucky until Harry said something about how they should probably go back to the ground. He was in love, not just with him but every little thing, things he does, this moment, being here for Christmas, Hogwarts, with Christmas and for the first time, he finally felt like he belonged somewhere and it was this moment, he belonged to every moment with Harry.
When they finally hit the ground, Harry took away Draco’s broom and his own and leaned it against the tree. Draco sensed the silence in the moment and used it as an opportunity to let everything out of his heart.
“Harry?”
Harry turned around and came to stand just in front of Draco, “Yes, love.”
Draco melted and he let out the biggest smile he could ever pull off and without thinking he kissed Harry. Somewhere he thinks he was waiting for this moment all evening but he finally did it and it felt like snow melting away in the sun. It felt like the perfect moment, the perfect time, everything just perfect and that person Draco was kissing, the most perfect of them all.
When they finally separated, Draco smiled at Harry still holding onto his neck and spoke so softly, “I loved all of it today. You have no idea how much all of this meant to me and being able to spend all this time with you, celebrating tonight with you, it was the most perfect thing ever and you made it all so perfect, so, I think I want to say thankyou but much more than that I want to say I love you, in the most real and pure way. I wouldn’t have Christmas any other way.”
Harry smiled back at Draco and gave him a little peck on the cheek and said, “I love you, too and it has never felt more real than now.”
They stood there for a few more minutes holding onto each other until the clock stroke midnight and they decided that it’d be the best to go back inside before the snowfall begins again.
They were finally walking hand in hand towards the castle when Draco finally said one last thing of the evening, “By the way, Harry, Quidditch is no longer my favourite thing in the world, its you.”
And Harry could only smile, “And you’re mine.”

Flufftober day 12 - "You kept this?"
Well, real life is still a thing and it still gets in the way of my writing. I've had this in my drafts for a month and now I finally managed to finish this @flufftober prompt. Thank you to the ever amazing @crazybutgood for looking this over, I appreciate you more than I can say 😘
It’s when Draco helps Harry sort through his old boxes (to be helpful, of course. It’s absolutely not because he doesn’t want to let old junk into their new shared home, not at all, Potter!) that he finds it: Tucked inside his old The Essential Defence Against the Dark Arts book, its creases worn and almost see through, lies a familiar looking paper crane.
Draco is frozen for half a second before he opens it and carefully smoothes it out against the cover of the book. The charm of the illustration inside has faded somewhat and is mostly stuck on the image of Harry being struck by lightning. Draco lets out a surprised chuckle, eyes stinging.
“What?”
Harry comes up behind him, resting his chin on Draco’s shoulder.
Draco turns the paper over, starts to fold it into a bird again. He spent so many times practising how to, it’s still engraved in his muscle memory even though it’s been over ten years.
“You kept this?” he says, annoyed at how wobbly his voice comes out.
Harry snorts softly; it tickles. “Guess I did.”
“But… why?”
Harry shrugs, his shoulders brushing Draco’s body with the movement. “I actually found it a few years ago when I was sorting through my things. I guess I must’ve just shoved the crane in there in Third Year and forgot about it. But when I found it, I…”
He trails off, then snorts softly again. Draco turns around; Harry’s looking down at his feet, one hand rubbing at his neck.
“You…?” Draco prompts.
Harry looks up at him, one dimple visible even with his repressed smile. “I sort of kept it because… Well, even if you were a little shit when you made it for me, I looked at it with fondness when I found it. It was right about when we’d become friends, and I started to realise that I had feelings for you, so…” He looks down again, his cheeks turning a darker shade. “I think I kept it because… Okay, please don’t think of me as a lovesick school girl, but I kept it because it was the only physical thing I had to remind me of you back then.”
It’s hard for Draco to swallow around the lump in his throat that forms with the mix of shame for his past self and affection for Harry. He has to blink several times at the mental image of Harry carefully handling this stupid paper crane, made out of spite, as something precious.
Harry puts his hands on top of Draco’s, calming his fidgeting. “I have to admit, I think the drawing is pretty accurate.”
Draco lets out a surprised bark of laughter, tearing his eyes from the crane to look at Harry. There are so many things he wants to say. He’s still not sure he’s deserving of Harry, not after all the nasty things he did. But Harry smiles at him in that way he does when he knows what Draco’s thinking, when there are no words left that he hasn’t already said.
“Could you maybe show me how to make one? We could… we could use them as decorations in our new home.”
Our new home. Draco has to blink away the tears stinging his eyes, and he doesn’t trust his voice to carry, so Harry continues.
“Maybe it would be fitting, you know, how we started and how it’s going. Remembering old memories while we’re creating new ones.”
Finally, Draco manages to nod. “Yeah,” he sniffles. “I’d like that. As soon as we’ve settled in. And as soon as we’ve got rid of your ridiculous coffee table.”
Harry lets out a belly shaking laugh. “That’s the spirit.” He gives Draco a soft hug, enveloping Draco in his warm scent. “Best start right away before I Confund you about that coffee table.”

Story Masterlist // Romina’s Masterlist
If you’d like to be a part of this OC’s work/edits, let me know!
Trevor the frog ribbited along the school lake while his owner endlessly chased after him, failing to catch the frog as it continued hopping away.
Romina giggled and swiftly swiped Trevor off the grassy ground. "You just love running about, don't yah?" she cooed at the frog.
"And you just love picking up disgusting things, don't you?" Pansy Parkinson mimicked her tone from the side. She and Arden were in the middle of arguing but of course Pansy took a moment to throw that comment out.
Romina ignored her for the first couple of seconds. "Neville, you're going to have to let me take care of Trevor during the summer, please."
Neville was startled by the comment, mostly because he didn't think anyone - much less a girl - would ever think about seeing him during the summer vacation. "S-sure. A-anytime y-you want."
Romina beamed. She always wanted a pet of some sort but she was never allowed one. Not even a goldfish!
"Look at that fellas, Longbottom's all red because someone might actually like him in this school," Draco had made a stop with Crabbe and Goyle. He was close to laughing at Neville's clearly excited face from Romina's words.
"Oh sod off, Draco," Romina said calmly. "Go taunt someone else for today. Unless you want to meet Trevor up close."
The moment she took a step towards him with the frog in her hands, Draco backed two steps extra. "Oswell, you better get that slimy creature away from me."
A mischievous expression settled across her face just as Romina glanced back at Neville. "You came over…" she said innocently, making another advance for Draco. "Don't you want to touch him."
There was a look of fury in Draco's face that no eleven year old should have been able to conjure up. "Oswell, you'll regret it!"
Romina laughed, and behind her Neville was struggling to hide his own. "You know all about the trapdoor incident with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Do you really think I'm not capable of it?"
Because thanks to Fred and George, the entire school knew about Quirrell and Harry's face off for the Stone. Romina had withheld her boasting of proving right to the three Gryffindors only until Ron had been let go of the hospital wing. She was still waiting for Harry to wake up and point out how Snape wasn't behind anything at all. But beside that, the whole school knew about the three Gryffindors and one Slytherin going through deadly traps set by professors themselves. Needless to say they'd earned some fame, and for Romina some acceptance again.
"Sometimes I think you're not quite the Oswell society would think," Draco ended up saying, but whether it had been a compliment or an insult he wasn't sure. That startled him, but he didn't think on it further.
For Romina, it was the best thing anyone could have said to her. "Draco," she lowered the toad, "That's the kindest thing you've ever said to me. I'm shocked."
"I'm not playing that game," Draco unexpectedly snapped.
"I should give you a hug!"
"Go hug Angel!"
Romina still wouldn't stop smiling and when she opened her arms for a hug, Draco quickly stalked off, calling out to her afterwards about her 'overreacting'.
Romina laughed and turned to Neville, holding Trevor out for him. "I owe Trevor big time now."
Neville barely had time to smile when they heard Hermione calling out for Romina. The girl was running towards them at lightspeed, her face almost covered completely by her bushy hair. Romina handed Trevor to Neville quickly for fear of being tackled down by Hermione.
"He's awake! He woke up!" Hermione was shouting, and thus had every student she passed by hear. "Harry's woken up!"
"Has he!?" Romina exclaimed excitedly. It had been four days since they had come back from the trapdoor but Harry, sustaining some heavy injuries, remained unconscious in the hospital wing.
Hermione nodded her head. "He's - he's with Ron in the-the h-hospital...wing!" she was out of breath due to her run. "I-I saw him! But...I had to...come get you…"
"Well let's go!" Romina didn't wait another minute and pulled Hermione into a brand new run.
Ron and Harry were already talking in the hospital wing, and while it took Madame Pomfrey another round of convincing, the girls were soon able to join and talk with Harry over what truly happened with the stone.
"What really happened, Harry?" Romina was the eager one to ask the question everyone was dying to know. "Who was it? And you can't say it was Snape because he's still working here."
"It wasn't Snape," Harry finally let Romina have the win. "It was Quirrell."
"It's always the quiet ones…" Romina mumbled to the side, but promptly received a whack on the arm from Hermione.
Of course, when Harry told the three of his friends how Voldemort had attached himself to - quite literally - the back of Quirrell's head, all jokes were put aside. Harry then explained how he had attained the stone from his pocket - thanks to Dumbledore's clever trick - and was able to fight off Quirrell/Voldemort until they had turned to dust.
"Love's the way to win?" Hermione made a face. She was never one for fairytales and this one was just plain wicked. Harry's mother's love had been his ultimate protection against Voldemort and Quirrell.
"So the Stone's gone, then?" Ron asked after Harry finished telling them the story. "Flame's just going to die?"
"That's what I said, but Dumbledore thinks that - what was it? - 'to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure," Harry repeated Dumbledore's words to them but no one was really understanding.
"Well, maybe it's for the best the Stone to just be destroyed," Romina said quietly. "It was causing too much trouble. Honestly, nobody should live forever."
Harry nodded. "So what happened with you afterwards when you got back to Ron?"
"We ran like mad," Hermione said with widened eyes. "We were heading to the owlery to contact Dumbledore when we met him in the entrance hall."
"And he just knew you were going after the stone," Romina said, slightly amused. "How well must he know you, hmm?"
"Do you think he meant you to do it?" Ron suddenly asked, getting both girls to look at him weirdly. "I mean, he sent you your father's cloak and everything…"
"Well, " Hermione exploded, "-if he did - I mean to say that's terrible - you could have been killed."
"No, it isn't," Harry calmly said. "He's a funny man, Dumbledore. I think he sort of wanted to give me a chance. I think he knows more or less everything that goes on here, you know. I reckon he had a pretty good idea we were going to try, and instead of stopping us, he just taught us enough to help. I don't think it was an accident he let me find out how the mirror worked. It's almost like he thought I had the right to face Voldemort if I could..."
Romina and Ron had matching faces, and Ron - unknowingly - spoke both their thoughts out loud. "Yeah, Dumbledore's off his rocker, all right."
"Ron," Hermione scolded but the ginger went on without a care.
"Listen, you've got to be up for the end-of-year feast tomorrow. The points are all in and Slytherin won, of course…" Ron threw a warning look in Romina's way, as if to say for her to keep quiet. "You missed the last Quidditch match, we were steamrollered by Ravenclaw without you - but the food'll be good."
"Yeah, and we can tell you all about how Fred and George thought it would be hilarious to gift you a toilet seat," Romina still laughed at the idea the twins had. "Nearly got them kicked out of the hospital wing."
Harry laughed, but the soreness of his head prevented him from a complete laugh.

"You're just an idiot, do you know that, Parkinson?" Arden was barely containing her shouts while Pansy, sitting beside her at the Great Hall, seemed less than put together.
"How dare you call me that, muggle-born?" snapped the girl. She discreetly looked over to Romina who was once again warning her - deadly silent of course - not to even dare to use the word against Arden. "Learn your place!"
Romina thanked Daphne Greengrass for the biscuit and tried her best to eat her dinner without snapping both Arden's and Pansy's necks. Those two were beginning to tire her out with all their bickering.
"Don't get stressed," she heard Angel say. She cracked a smile when she met his gaze and saw him sending her a worried look. "They can figure it out."
"I don't think they can," Daphne whispered to them, quietly drinking from her goblet.
"Nah, look," Romina nodded over to Dumbledore who was arriving to take his seat at the High Table. "They won't last longer."
"Not even because we've won the House cup they seem to forget their arguments," Daphne made a gesture to the Slytherin-colored banners decorating the room.
"Another year gone!" Dumbledore had begun his usual speeches, and of course everyone - including Arden and Pansy - ceased to talk. "And I must trouble you with an old man's wheezing waffle before we sink our teeth into our delicious feast. What a year it has been! Hopefully your heads are all a little fuller than they were... you have the whole summer ahead to get them nice and empty before next year starts. Now, as I understand it, the house cup here needs awarding, and the points stand thus: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with three hundred and twelve points; in third, Hufflepuff, with three hundred and fifty-two; Ravenclaw has four hundred and twenty-six and Slytherin, four hundred and twenty."
The Slytherin table erupted into applause for themselves. No one else in the room seemed to agree.
"Yes, Yes, well done, Slytherin," Dumbledore cut in, "However, recent events must be taken into account."
Confusion fell across the Great Hall and with it came a curious silence.
"I have a few last-minute points to dish out. Let me see. Yes. First - to Mr. Ronald Weasley…"
Romina snapped her head in the Gryffindor table where she could see Ron looking just as shocked as everyone else.
"...for the best-played game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years, I award Gryffindor house fifty points."
The Gryffindor tables cheered for the new addition, but Dumbledore wasn't finished there.
"Second - to Miss Hermione Granger... for the use of cool logic in the face of fire, I award Gryffindor house fifty points."
"Third - to Miss Romina Oswell - for the outstanding collection of memory and logic, I award Slytherin house fifty points."
Romina wasn't exactly cheering for her own collection of points, and neither was her table, because they were all busy doing calculations…
"Fourth - to Mr. Harry Potter...for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house sixty points. And, there are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. I therefore award ten points to Mr. Neville Longbottom."
There was no doubt who had won the House cup with the shift of points. Even with Romina's 50 additional points, Slytherin had lost to Gryffindor by two points.
"Which means, we need a little change of decoration," Dumbledore clapped his hands and the Slytherin decorations came down to be replaced with Gryffindor's mighty lion and its brilliant red and golden colors.
The entire Great Hall had burst into a new round of applause and cheering, except for Slytherin of course. Their seventh year streak had broken. Romina was sad, of course, but she felt like losing wasn't the end of the world. There was always next year. In fact, there were six more years left.

The ride back to King's Cross would be long enough and when Romina and Arden sat down and noticed some of the dirty looks the older Slytherins were giving them — more specifically at Romina — the trip felt agonizingly long.
"Okay, why are they all staring at you?" Arden said in a hushed voice.
Romina rested her hands on the table, shooting dirty looks back at the elder Slytherins. "I don't know. Somehow they think us losing the House Cup is my fault. I won you 50 extra points!" She had exclaimed at the students and perhaps it was the embarrassment of being called out but they looked away.
"Your 50 extra points did nothing for us, Oswell," Draco said on his way down the aisle.
Romina arched an eyebrow at him. "Oh, well, I didn't see you risking your life to get those 50 points."
Blaise had come up behind Draco and heard Romina, leading him to snort. "Please, for Malfoy to do something risky, there'd have to be, I don't know, some sort of hurricane or something."
"Wow, did we just agree on something?" Romina laughed.
Draco rolled his eyes at the two. "You know, this is the kind of behavior that'll never let you rise the ranks."
"What ranks?" Arden made a face.
"You would never understand, King. It's beyond your muggle world."
Arden shook her head. "Whatever. I'm going to get me some candy off the trolley. I'd offer you some but I don't want to." She slid out of the booth and promised Romina she'd be back in a few minutes. She pushed past Draco and disappeared down the aisle.
"You really have to be a grump at all times?" Romina asked Draco a moment later. "I thought that was Blaise's job."
"Watch it, Oswell," Blaise warned and continued down the aisle to find him a better seat.
Draco surprised Romina by sliding down in the opposite seat of her booth. "You're going to have to watch your mouth in the future."
"Is that a warning?" Romina frowned. "Like, are you threatening me?"
"No," Draco said sharply, "It's a precaution. Trust me. Unfortunately, you're like Arden King in this world. You've lived cooped up in the muggle world to know the rules and the consequences in the Wizarding community."
"Consequences?" Romina understood less and less. "What on earth are you talking about? Can you go back to insulting me? You made more sense then."
Draco rolled his eyes and snapped at her to listen. "I don't want you getting into trouble because you just didn't know. You need to be careful now that you're going to be more involved in our world."
A strange smile spread across Romina's face. "Draco, I'm shocked."
"By what?"
"Your ability to care for my well-being — albeit it is very misguided."
Draco rolled his eyes again. "Forget it! This is what I get for trying to be nice!"
Romina chuckled. "It's a foreign concept to you, huh? Keep going, I'm fairly interested in how you're going to wrap it up."
Draco deadpanned her for a long minute. "Do you have to be so...you all the time?"
"I don't know how to be anyone else," Romina said simply.
"Well in this world — our world — you're going to have to be the best version of yourself," Draco said, leaning forward on the table, "Mistakes are not allowed, Oswell. Seriously."
Romina wondered how rash these "consequences" had been to have him looking even more pale than he already normally was. She tilted her head at him. Putting all her jokes aside, she suspected he was being honest with her. It was such a strange notion coming from him of all people. "Okay, um...well, you're right. I don't actually know much about our world, but that's not my fault. My aunt and uncle did that on purpose. Oswells are not very well liked amongst the public. You saw what half of the school did to me when they found out who I was."
"See, that's the thing, Oswell. You don't have to worry about all these different people so long as you pick the best of the group. And believe it or not, the Oswell name still carries prestige."
Romina scoffed and actually laughed thinking he was being absurd. "Yeah, right!"
Draco remained perfectly calm in the face of her laughter. "You are a pureblood witch, Romina. Your family has remained one of the last few pureblood families to remain. You fail to see how that puts you up the ranks."
"Well, I just...never really put thought into that," Romina admitted, her eyes shifting towards the other Slytherins around them.
"Why would you being surrounded by muggles," Draco said, shrugging, "I can't say that I blame you for lack of knowledge but now that you're here, you should learn. Learn the customs and traditions of purebloods — of our social circle."
"I-I don't know any of that stuff," Romina said, her face scrunching, "I wouldn't even know where to begin."
"I could help you," Draco said, startling her. "I would," he said, seeing her face of doubt.
"Why would you help me?" Romina raised an eyebrow at him. "You barely seem to like me."
"Purebloods help purebloods," Draco said flatly, "You're one of us, Oswell."
"Well, would you help Pansy if she was in my situation?"
"Alrihgt, maybe you're also about the least annoying girl of our year."
Romina smirked. "See, now that sounds more like you. So, how exactly would you help me out in this predicament? I doubt you'll be coming over to my house to give me lessons."
"God no!" Draco nearly laughed in her face. "I'd never step foot in your neighborhood."
Romina's smirk spread. "Never say never. I can be very persuasive."
"You would never persuade me to do such a horrible thing like that. You're missing my point here! Look, I'll write to you, okay? You do get our kind of mail, right?"
"I live in the muggle world, not the Stone Age," Romina said with a laugh.
"I'll take that as a 'yes'," Draco said, "Then you better respond to my letters, got it?"
"Got it," Romina nodded, fairly bemused with the whole thing. "I look forward to these history lessons. You should know that's where I got my lowest test score. I suck at history."
"Oh, so it wasn't Potions then? I hear you can be kind of bad at that too."
"Get out," Romina pointed at him to leave the booth.
With a smirk on his face, Draco slid out of the booth and went to go find Blaise further down.
Romina had just gotten comfortable on her own when Arden returned with a couple sweets in her arms. "Oh good, Malfoy's gone." Arden plopped down beside Romina. "I kind of hate that guy."
"Eh, he's not that bad," Romina shrugged. For the moment, she decided to keep Draco's abrupt help to herself. She didn't want it going around and getting to Harry of all people.
Halfway through the trip, Romina left the Slytherin compartment - which was really just the further compartment in the train the House collectively decided to overtake - and went to go find Harry. She found him, Hermione and Ron in a compartment more at the front of the train and sat down with them.
"You're not mad Gryffindor won this year, then?" Ron seemed to size Romina up while she took her time to answer.
"It's just a competition, Ron," she shrugged, "I don't really care. I can't say the same for most of my House, though."
Ron still cracked a smile at her. "That's fair. You know we'll crush you next year too, right?"
"Ron," Hermione jabbed her elbow in his side.
Romina just laughed. "Bring it on, Ron!"
Hermione exchanged a stunned glance with Harry. Maybe Romina's and Ron's relationship had finally mellowed out into a real friendship. Their suspicion was confirmed a moment later when Ron spoke again.
"You must come and stay this summer — the three of you! I'll send you an owl!"
"Ron, you would want me to come over?" Romina raised an eyebrow, skeptically looking at the ginger.
"I know we had differences, but you're definitely not like the Oswells were portrayed," Ron gave a sheepish shrug.
Romina hummed, swaying her head. "You're the second person to tell me that."
Romina remained with the Gryffindors when they finally reached their destination. It was a hassle getting back to the Slytherin compartment to retrieve her things and then getting out of the train. Luckily, it was easy to spot the Weasleys amongst the crowd of parents waiting on the platform.
Romina and Arden trudged with their trunks towards them and had a moment to chitchat until Romina spotted Lyonel and Sage approaching them. After the school year they had, Romina sqeualed with excitement seeing them.
"Well, someone's looking far happier than the last time," Lyonel hugged Romina tightly. He was happy to see the great change in his niece.
Romina pulled away, incredibly happy. "You wouldn't believe what happened!"
Sage nudged her husband and nodded in the direction of Harry, Ron and Hermione. To the side was still Mrs. Weasley and Ginny.
"Did you make new friends?" Lyonel went ahead and asked Romina, who immediately went red in the face.
"You did not just ask me that like I'm some kindergartner!"
Her friends, including little Ginny Weasley, burst into laughter. Romina covered her face, and shook her head in mortification. But deep down, she wasn't really that bothered.
A/N:
End of Book 1! Book 2 will continue in this same story! I don't have plans of making it into separate stories because there's literally 7 books so...yeah!

Love Languages
Had a though about which love languages each of the boys would subscribe to (receiving, not giving, if you want me to make that one I probably can)
People mentioned: Harry, Fred, George, Neville, Ron, Oliver, Draco
Harry
Harry likes physical touch.
As a child he barely got any affection from people, and he was initially uncomfortable showing much of any physical affection
However, once you openly showed him said affection, the two of you were attached at the hip.
It does not matter where you are, if your in the same room, your probably touching in some way.
If it’s a large public setting, it’s likely just pinkies, hands, or arms that are linked. But in the presence of close friends he’ll gladly return a hug, and when you’re alone it’s an entirely different story.
He will literally flop on top of you, hold onto you, and hold you until you’ve both fallen asleep.
He also enjoys sitting on your lap or you sitting on his lap.
Stroke his hair or run your fingers on his face or over his eyes and he will melt
Anyways yea Harry is a cuddle whore
Fred
Fred likes quality time
You don’t always spend every moment next to each other, boundaries are really important to both of you and you both respect those boundaries.
But when you are together, it is the best time either of you could have.
Sneaking into the kitchens at 3 am to eat sweets.
Shopping at Hogsmeade, getting butterbeer, watching muggle movies
If you like practical jokes you gladly take part in them, if not then he respects that.
Sometimes he just wants someone to listen to him.
So he’ll lay next to you and just talk, for hours.
About school, about his latest pranks, about family.
If you can use the time you have together in a way that makes you both happy, then he will love you forever.
To him, it’s not about the amount of time you spend with him, it’s about what you both do with it.
George
George likes words of affirmation- he always feels like he lives in his siblings shadow
Occasionally that means living in Fred’s shadow too.
People never really acknowledge them as separate people, and sometimes he needs reassurance that someone sees him as an individual.
Telling him on a daily basis, that you see him as a separate person, even if you don’t have to say those exact words, is important to him.
He also just really likes hearing that you believe in and love him
Within 2 weeks of you dating he greets you with an “I love you.”
And at first he freezes when he realizes what it is that he said.
But when you reply with reciprocation he melts.
The first time you tell him you love him, he practically combusts with happiness.
This could also translate to a praise kink but we’re not gonna talk about that rn ;)
Neville
Neville prefers gifts
Not necessarily expensive ones, just small little things, trinkets and such
If you just hand him a shiny rock he lets out this little trill of happiness and adds it to his collection alongside his plants
If you give him a plant he'll fucking collapse.
Once when you came back from a trip over Christmas, you gave him seeds to a rare plant that wasn't found in Europe, he nearly burst from excitement
That was the first time he kissed you in public
He also really likes candy and once when you brought him these little rock candies that were only found in muggle stores he practically ripped the wrapper off and shoved them into his mouth.
(He shared of course)
Neville often gets his fathers hand-me-downs, and while he enjoys them, it sucks that his grandmother refuses to buy him anything of his own
So when you buy him a sweater and a pair of slacks he almost cries
Sugar baby Neville au i said what i said
Ron
Ron likes acts of service
A lot of it is when you help him with things like homework
Sometimes Hermione is too tired or unwilling to and when you step in to help where you can, its like a little piece of him falls in love with you all over again
But part of it is other forms of service
A few months before you were together, Ron had a really bad day and returned to the common room with a huge headache, and when you offered to give him a head massage he decided he was gonna ask you out
Sometimes just running your hands through his hair after a long day makes him absolutely melt into the couch cushions
He also often gets homesick, especially when it comes to food, and if you cook or bake for him, he practically jumps in the fucking air
You called his mom once to get a recipe for these Christmas cookies that he missed since he couldn’t go home for Christmas one year and if you both hadn’t been in public he would have cried
When you brought him homemade candies he did cry (he’d had a long day, let him live)
But yea sometimes he just needs someone to take care of him nothing wrong with that my dudes
Oliver
Oliver likes an even mix of gifts and and acts of service tbh
Often for Christmas or his birthday you’ll get him a new broom servicing kit or a book about Puddlemere United
One year you managed to get one of his favorite books signed by some of Puddlemere’s players
When you presented it to him he tackled you in a hug so tight you thought your lungs would pop.
He also really likes trying new candies so you get him a subscription box where he can try new ones from around the world and the two of you spend a few days every month trying new candies together for a year.
When it comes to acts of service its a little more physical
Quidditch takes a toll on a person's body so often he'll come back from a game or a practice and just collapse.
So if you give him a massage he'll practically sink into the bed.
Dude is just tired sometimes give him a break
Draco
Draco is probably into words of affirmation
I think people would assume it's gifts but that's actually how he shows love to other people because that's how his parents showed love to him even though it's not necessarily what he wants
But yeah I think Draco sometimes deals with a lot of shit especially during 6-7 year and so he's probably stressed as shit
And feeling really guilty about what he's having to do
But he feels like he has no choice or else he and his parents are going to die.
So sometimes he just needs reassurance that he's not a terrible person
Occasionally after working on the cabinet in the ROR he'll just go to you and collapse on your shoulder and start sobbing
Sometimes just making sure he knows that he's okay and that he's loved will make him want to cry
Anyways Draco Malfoy redemption arc

Career Day
so I read this post courtesy of @bixgirl1, @l0vegl0wsinthedark and @o0o-chibaken-o0o three times this morning, nearly cried laughing, and here I present to you: dumb dad Drarry on Career Day.
Albus Potter really just wanted two things: that new edition of Hogwarts: A History that Rose had been taunting him with all summer, and for his father to stop being so weird about the Career Day next week at Godric’s Hollow Primary School.
‘Dad, you’ll be fine, it’s just coming in to talk to my class for half an hour.’
Harry paced across the kitchen. ‘No - but - okay. So. You’re saying that...many people...will be coming…do you know…who…’
‘Um.’ Albus lowered his piece of toast. ‘Scorp’s dad is definitely coming. Talking about journalism.’ Harry squeaked and a glass fell off the counter. Albus sighed and put down his toast.
‘You shouldn’t be nervous, Dad, it’s awesome what you do.’
‘Oh, it’s...not that…’ Harry waved a hand in a feign of nonchalance and hurriedly Reparoed the glass. ‘I mean, I’ll bring in some of my new pieces.’
‘Cool.’ Albus raised an eyebrow as Harry bustled around the kitchen, not looking at him. He didn’t know why this was such a big deal; Harry was an amazing woodworker, combining magic and practical skill to create cribs that sung infants to sleep, or picture frames that adjusted size depending on the photo, or tables that set themselves. It was super cool and he was way happier than when he’d been an Auror.
‘I’ll ask your mums to come, too,’ Harry said, hurrying out of the kitchen. ‘Yes, that will work, that should make it fine…’
Albus shook his head, refilled his glass of orange juice, and thought about how he was going to break it to Lily and James that their father was going insane.
‘Scorp!’ Albus grinned at his best friend as he and Harry entered the crowded classroom, a swarm of parents and children. Harry trailed slightly behind Albus, clutching his box of shrunken wooden objects and making a small whimpering sound when Scorpius and his dad approached. Albus thought it was awesome that he and Scorpius were friends, as they both had the only gay parents in school. Well, Harry was bisexual, which he’d described to Albus as being able to fall in love with anyone. Albus thought it was ironic that his dad could have anyone and was still single, but when he told his parents this at their weekly family dinner, Luna and Ginny just laughed at Harry for about ten minutes straight and Albus felt a bit bad.
‘Hello, Albus,’ Draco beamed. He’d been very firm on that name - Mr Malfoy is my father, Albus, don’t be so formal - and he was always interested in chatting to Albus about history and Hogwarts and all sorts of things that Harry didn’t know much about. Harry was an excellent father, and Luna and Ginny were great mums, but none of them shared Albus’ bookishness. Draco looked at Harry then, his mouth twisted in a smile. ‘Potter.’
‘Malfoy.’ Albus looked at his Dad. Harry was blushing. God, was he that nervous?
‘Dad’s been nervous all week about today,’ Albus told Draco. Draco smirked.
‘Is that so, Albus?’
‘Yeah! But I’ve told him not to be, because he’s obviously awesome at what he does, and there’s no reason he should be nervous.’
‘Indeed. Your father is exceptionally...talented.’ Draco looked calmly at Harry, who looked about ready to pass out. ‘He’s so good with a bit of wood.’ Harry made a high pitched noise and Albus looked at him, brow furrowed.
‘Oh my god, Dad, relax.’
‘Sure,’ Harry wheezed. ‘I’m very relaxed.’ At that precise moment, Ginny and Luna arrived, and Harry almost jumped behind them.
‘Sweetheart!’ Ginny pinched Albus’ cheeks and he rolled his eyes. Luna enveloped him in a patchouli-and-vanilla hug. ‘Thanks for having us. Hi, Scorpius, Draco.’ Ginny grinned widely at Draco - who, for some weird reason - winked at her.
‘Hello, lesbians. How are you?’
‘Oh, very good,’ Luna said serenely. ‘The animal sanctuary is coming along so well, and it’s so nice being closer to Holyhead for Ginny’s practices.’
‘Yeah,’ Ginny said. ‘And the kids love it there, right?’
‘It’s really fun!’ Scorpius said, grinning. ‘I love the Kneazles, they’re so cute.’
‘Yes, I’ve always been rather partial to pussies,’ Ginny said, and Draco spluttered a laugh. Albus looked over to his dad, who looked like he wanted to die.
‘Adults are so weird,’ he said to Scorpius, who nodded in agreement. ‘Let’s go find Lily and Rose.’
…
The rest of the day passed fairly normally, although Harry huddled behind Ginny and Luna for most of it. That wasn’t too unusual - Albus knew his dad hated attention. What was unusual was the spluttering and choking sounds he seemed to be making a lot today.
‘Shh, for Godric’s sake Harry,’ Ginny scolded. ‘You’re fine.’
‘How am I supposed to be fine when he is there, looking at me like that…’
‘You’re so melodramatic. He likes you.’
‘No he doesn’t!’
‘Yes he does, Harry,’ Luna chimed in. ‘That’s why he’s flirting with you.’
‘But…’ Harry looked slightly hapless. Albus was deeply confused. He had no idea what flirting was.
‘I thought that much would be obvious after, erm, Albus’ birthday party.’
‘We said we’d never speak of that again,’ Harry hissed.
‘I’m just saying,’ Ginny held her hands up, ‘Draco only gets his co--erm, his dragon--out for men he actually likes.’
‘You think?’ Harry’s voice was very soft and Ginny snorted.
‘Yeah, you absolute fuckwit.’
‘Ginny!’ Luna scolded. ‘Children.’
‘It’s okay,’ said Albus, leaning back out of the row and whispering conspiratorially. ‘I know that fuck is a bad word. I won’t say it.’ Harry snorted in laughter and Ginny put her head in her hands.
‘We are not cut out for this,’ she moaned.
‘Agreed,’ Luna and Harry responded in unison.
…
At the end of Career Day, Ginny and Luna wandered over to collect Lily and Albus for the week. Albus was deep in a conversation with Scorpius about astronomy and was pleasantly surprised to see that Luna had his bag, too.
‘Come on, Scorp,’ Ginny grinned. ‘You’re staying with us tonight.’
‘No way!’ Scorpius looked thrilled and bowled his dad over in a hug. ‘Thanks!’
‘Behave,’ Draco smiled, and kissed his son gently on top of his head. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’ Harry was standing just next to Draco, cheeks very red and hands shoved in his old jeans.
‘I’ll see you on Sunday for family dinner,’ he told Albus and Lily, and kissed them goodbye. Luna and Ginny murmured something to Harry that made him make the weird choking noise again as they left, and Albus only heard one last sentence as Harry and Draco walked out the front of the building.
‘Now Potter, where were we?’
Read on Ao3.

Really love your draco ficsss 🤗🤗🤗 i was wondering if you can make one before the war where draco obliviated reader then looks for her after the war aaaa would love to see your take on ittt tag me
remember me | draco malfoy
pairing: draco x reader
word count: 1,8k
summary: where draco obliviates y/n
a/n: while doing research for this one i didn’t even know that when you use obliviate, you can’t reverse it anymore if you’ve used the wand for another spell :o i guess you always learn something new lmao @belladaises i hope you like it! <3
warnings: angst, mentions of blood
universe: harry potter
Footsteps and screams echo through the dark corridors of Hogwarts as Draco finds himself in one of the hallways after apparating there mere seconds ago. Getting to the right place at the right time, he immediately gets hold of some of the Slytherins, including his friends, whom he pulls with him, informing them about his – or rather Lord Voldemort’s – plan. Draco knows what he has to do, but he also knows the consequences his actions will have.
His hands are shaking, and he is having a difficult time to breathe after they walked from one side of the castle to the other, wands drawn and always at the ready in case there are any emergencies or incidents on their way. What Draco did not expect, however, is that he will find you along his way.
With a pained expression on your face, you lean against one of the cold brick walls, about to lose your footing and to fall to the ground when Draco is already at your side and catches you in his arms before you can hit the hard floor. Previously, he quickly ordered Blaise and Goyle to move on without him and wait for him until he is done here. Carefully, Draco sinks to the ground with you and places you close to him in order to be able to take a closer look at you.
“Y/N! Y/N, what happened?”, he asks you with concern in his voice and already reproaches himself internally for not being here to fight by your side. But he knows that he can’t. After all, you are on the opposite sides in this terrible war.
Slowly, you raise your head and do not seem to recognize him at first, until your vision clears, and you look directly into his worried face. You immediately push yourself closer to him, his closeness bringing you some calmness and making you feel protected and safe, although walls are blown up around you while wizards and witches give their lives in the bitter fight for Hogwarts.
“D-Draco? You are here”, you breath out, your voice rough and strained from your previous screams. You had split up into groups to face the Death Eaters, but you were separated from them when a part of the ceiling fell down, several pieces burying you beneath them. The hope that is now reflected in your eyes upon seeing him, here and with you, breaks Draco’s heart. You really think he is on your side.
It is only when you groan in pain that Draco realizes that you are clutching your leg, which is covered in blood.
“Come on, I will get you out of here”, he whispers to you and helps you straighten up, the guilt plaguing him. You are badly injured, and he was not here to prevent you from getting hurt. Carefully, he puts your arm around his shoulder so you can move faster together than if he would carry you. Since it is not anything than safe here right now, Draco hurries to get you out of there as fast as possible.
“It is not as bad as it looks. I promise”, you try to calm him down, but once your foot touches the ground you twitch in insufferable pain and pull your foot back with a hiss, your hand immediately going to your tigh where it hurts the most.
“What happened?”
“I was careless and then a part of the ceiling buried me beneath it.”
The shock on Draco’s face is enormous when he realizes what could have happened, how it could have ended with you laying under masses of bricks with no one knowing. That he could and still can lose you in this bitter war for life and death. Briefly, he carefully inspects your leg – broken – and without any hesitation, he picks you up in his arms and carries you to a safer place. The safest place would probably be where all students, who do not fight, are hiding, but if Draco asked you about it, he would have to pass this very important piece of information on. And thus, he would also leave you to a terrible fate.
“You are safe here. For the time being”, he finally says as he places you at the end of a staircase that no longer leads to where it originally should, and kneels down in front of you, stroking his hand over your cheek lovingly. Shaking, you place your own on top of his and press his palm to your skin to feel its warmth.
“Draco, if we make it to the seventh floor then-“
“Do not tell me. Please”, he almost begs you. His pleading leaves you puzzled and slowly but surely makes you doubt why he is actually here. Gently, Draco takes your hand in his and places a delicate kiss on your knuckles. You sadly watch him until you bring up the courage to ask this one question that burns on your tongue.
“Why are you here, Draco?”
The realization hits you like a train, much more painful than the pain in your leg, when he just looks at you with glassy eyes and fails to give you an answer. Tears well up in your eyes when you notice that you no longer have your loving boyfriend in front of you, but your enemy.
“Why, Draco?”, you ask him desperately, the first tear already finding its way down your cheek, but Draco does not have the heart to look into your eyes, too scared to see the pain and disappointment in them. Sighing, he shakes his head, letting it sink.
“Everything will be fine, I promise”, he manages to say while his heart contracts in pain. Suddenly, he perceives voices that are still far away, but he hears them coming closer. With trembling hands, he reaches for your wand, which is sticking out of your boot as he has made his final decision. Confused, you look back and forth between him and the wand in his hand.
“What are you going to do? D-Draco? You do not have to do this”, you stutter out as he looks directly at you with his gray eyes which seem much darker now. Gray eyes that once shone with so much affection and now only radiate a tremendous coldness that makes you shudder.
“Now listen carefully to what I say, Y/N. You have to promise me that you will not use your wand anymore”, Draco explains to you, but you can only look at him speechlessly while tears run down your cheeks in waterfalls, not knowing what he will do next.
“I am so sorry”, is the last thing he says to you before casting a spell. “Obliviate.”
With these words, Draco pulls any memories you have of him out of your mind. Every shared laughter, every shared grief, he frees you from all of it. He frees you from the burden of ever knowing him.
With one quick movement he puts your wand back in its original place and quickly stands up, watching how your face loses all emotion as you abruptly stop crying over nothing. Before he can regret his decision, he turns away from you and looks into the corridor from which he previously heard the voices. At the other end of the corridor, he discovers Neville Longbottom, who is running through Hogwarts with some students. Clenching his fists, Draco walks in the middle of the corridor, facing them from afar.
“Neville!”, Draco shouts as loud as he can, immediately gaining Neville’s attention, who now comes running towards him with his wand drawn, ready to attack. Draco swiftly runs back to where you still lean against the wall, but just as Neville turns around the corner, Draco disapparates to another part of Hogwarts.
You are safe at last.
════════════
Surrounded by nothing but rubble and ashes, Draco wanders through the last remains of Hogwarts alone. His clothes are torn apart, and his face is soiled – all signs of the bitter fight that took place here before. But now it is over. They lost.
But Draco does not care who won or lost. He chose to switch sides in the end anyway. All he wants now is one more thing: to find you and to make sure you are okay. Every time he trips over a lifeless body on the ground, he looks away in fear that he may recognize your face in one of the corpses. Pressing his hand against his aching left shoulder, he walks into what is left of the Great Hall and a glimmer of hope builds inside of him as he recognizes Neville standing in the middle of it.
Quickening his pace, Draco walks towards him, his gaze fixed on the people he is currently talking to. When Draco gets to them, however, his heart sinks and panic pervades him as he does not see you. You are not here.
Desperately searching for any signs of you, he looks around, his pulse getting faster by the second, until Neville finally taps on his shoulder and points to somewhere behind him. Draco turns around immediately, only to see you limp into the Great Hall with the help of Ginny Weasley, improvised stabilization around your broken leg.
Tears of joy well up in Draco’s eyes and he cannot help but run up to you and close you in a tight hug that almost knocks the both of you off your feet. Draco exhales in relief, clutching his arms around your fragile body, glad to hold you in his arms again, until he notices that you are trying to push him away.
Realization his Draco and he abruptly moves away from you.
“What was that supposed to mean?”, you ask him reproachfully, irritated as to why Draco Malfoy almost suffocated you in a hug.
“I- Well-“, he stutters, but the fact that you actually do not know him anymore is driving an ache through Draco’s chest again. “Where is your wand?”
“Excuse me?”, you huff out, the confusion evident on your face, but Draco quickly reaches for you wand before you can react, which pokes out of your boot, as always. Internally praying that you listened to him and did not use it when he was not by your side, he reverses the Memory Charm and watches a white streak touch your temple, piercing through your skin before vanishing completely.
You blink once, then a few times rapidly, adjusting your eyes to the light and when your gaze falls on Draco, tears well up in your eyes right away.
“Thank God”, Draco sighs in relief and hugs you tightly, but this time you actually return the hug. Weeping, you claw your hands into his shirt, your tears wetting the fabric, whispering what an idiot he had been and that he should never do this to you again. But at this moment nothing else matters.
You survived and found each other again despite the difficulties and obstacles. And from now on nothing and no one will separate you again. Ever.

Christmas Break
Pair: Draco Malfoy x Reader; he/him.
Summary: You liked Winter Break Draco. Unfortunately, he was replaced by Usual Dick Bag Draco who becomes ruthless. At least Harry is there to make you feel better.
Warnings: SMUT (MDI), jealousy sex, dirty talk, swearing, spanking, short mention of slapping and hair pulling, sir kink and degrading a tad- fluffy ending tho. I may have taken the kinks too far but ya know-
Notes: Requested by @the-offical-yn, who I must apologize too. A lot of my stories got away from me so I’m very sorry this is late- but um- enjoy getting railed by Draco guys! Yo, I made a shit plot for this. I’m so sorry if it’s baaddd.
~DO NOT REPOST ANYWHERE~
-
For years, he had this twisted mind against anyone not a pure-blood or a Slytherin. He had zero shame with cussing out Gryffindor's, spitting at Ravenclaw’s during quidditch games and tripping Hufflepuff's. But, suddenly, just before Christmas break, he changed and there was nothing blunt about it. He would help Ravenclaw first years pick up their books if they stumbled on the fake steps on the moving staircases, tutor third year Hufflepuff's in Herbology after hours and helped a few Gryffindor students fix their potions.
Draco changed faster than water turns to ice in a freezer. It was almost alarming. Even Snape seemed to be concerned, probably more than others. The greasy git kept yelling at Gryffindor's (mostly the Golden Trio [mostly Harry]) about what would happen when he found out who jinxed Malfoy. You couldn’t pinpoint exactly when he changed, but everyone else could. To the day, infact.
It was just a few days before October, when it started. Draco was strutting down the halls, using Crabbe and Goyle as shields from the dozens of students who walked by him. They stood at his sides, knocking students out of the way, acting like Draco owned this bubble of space as they walked, but somehow, you slipped through. You were crossing in front of him, trying to hurry to class and ended up tripping over your own feet.
Your instincts kicked in and you tried to catch yourself, but instead you fumbled right into Draco, landing heavily against his side. He scoffed, shoving you off and getting ready to cuss you out when you began to apologize (even if you don’t like him) and gather your things off the floor. With your head tilted down you didn’t notice the Slytherin staring at you like you were a puppy. When you gathered your things, you scurried off, apologizing to more students as you went by.
Apparently, that day, he saw you tutoring a whole table of students, all houses included, and you were being so nice to them, so kind and your voice was soft and he heard you say “Hey, no! It’s ok! There is no such thing as a dumb question, ask away”. He had this urge in his chest to just be different, to be someone you would want to be around and be a friend, maybe even be more. It made him feel sick.
It took about a week to get your attention, then a quick growing friendship blossomed. Your relationship with Draco changed- just like he had. It changed from funny jokes, sassy remarks and late night games of exploding snaps to flirting contests, long hugs and what could be considered dates.
By December, you and Draco were dating without the official titles. Everyday, you two were growing closer and the relationship was growing more rock solid with every passing event. Soon enough, winter break was coming around and everyone was genuinely surprised when they saw the blonde Slytherin strutting through the halls during Christmas break. Usually, the pureblood went home to spend the holidays in a cabin in a warmer climate with his family.
And it was weird for everyone to see him not bragging and tripping students and spitting at kids. But for you? It was a blissful few weeks. Even the Golden Trio got a break. They were some of your closer friends, so Draco gave them a bigger break. The blonde even went as far as helping Harry during potions. It was terrifying.
Until Christmas break was passing and Draco went through another change, which was what you were going to confront him about.
"Malfoy!" You found him out in the courtyard, a teary-eyed (y/h) first year trailing behind you. The poor kid was shaking with fear and let out a sniffle. "You have some very good explaining to do!"
The blonde looked from Goyle to you, his eyes slowly dragging down your form before darting back up to your flaming eyes. His smile had dropped and was now replaced with a sharp frown. His nose scrunched up, his eyebrows furrowed and his arms crisscrossed over his chest.
“I don’t have to explain anything to the likes of you.” He sneered. He looked over your shoulder and locked eyes with the first year, who scooted over to hide himself better. He made a scoff and turned back to Goyle, shaking his head while snorting. “Look at this- he’s tryin’ to be a hero.” As if on a cue, his little posse of Slytherins broke out into laughter, forcing your face to heat up from humiliation.
“Seriously? Are you fucking five?” You called over the idiots laughter, which morphed into pathetic ‘ooh’s. “Draco, stop being a child and a douchebag and just apologize to the first year.”
“Why should I?” Draco stepped closer to you. His eyes, stance and voice all held a challenging undertone. He moved some blonde hair out of his face, but you didn’t miss how his eyes flicked down to your lips.
“Because you called him a mud-blood for bumping into you. Grow a pair, gain some manners and apologize to him.” You crossed your arms over your chest, putting on your best angry face. If Draco was pulling a prank, you were going to punch him, without hesitation. And how the hell did an asshole like this become a prefect??
“Oh, your right, I definitely should apologize when the kid bumped into me. But I think I have a better idea.” He brought a finger to his lips, tapping it in mock thought. Sarcasm and sass was radiating from him and it only served to piss you off more. “How about you fuck off and leave me alone, (L/n).” He smirked, turning to his posse and symboling them to leave with him for a dramatic exit. You took a deep breath, your hands balling at your sides.
“I’m sorry for him.” You turned around and put a hand on the kids back and gave him a soft push back toward the castle. “Go tell the head of the house, ok? I’m gonna keep talking to him.” When he nodded and began to walk out of the courtyard, you hurried in the direction Draco left in. You found him heading across the bridge, in the middle of his group, who were effectively taking up the whole span of the bridge. His laughter echoed in the hollow build, which only had your blood boiling worse.
So, you called his name again, effectively getting his attention. He turned so fast you thought his head would’ve spun all the way around like an owl. You stared into his now burning eyes, walking closer to him. You could feel the adrenaline mixing with rage in your veins. You weren’t thinking straight, but you didn’t care.
“Wanna explain why you're being an ass all of a sudden or are you just gonna insult me and strut off with your orgy party?” You glared at him, ignoring his irritated sneer. It was making your face red (or whatever hue, I wanna be as inclusive as possible) with anger.
“I don’t have to tell you a thing.” Draco was, naturally, turning defensive, even if he knew deep down how he was acting was wrong. Honestly, you couldn’t tell if he knew he was actually being an ass or not.
“Ok. I get it. You stay the fuck here with your friends and I’ll just leave you alone then. Merlin, why did I think you’d change?” Your face showed disappointment before contouring back to anger and frustration and aggression. You ran your tongue over your teeth, a frown etching across your lips. “My mistake.” You turned around, still going off pure adrenaline. You felt a hand grasp your wrist and immediately tugged it free with all of your strength. “No, I really don’t wanna hear it, fuck off.”
You didn’t look back, and you certainly didn’t hear him say anything. Of course it hurt, but you didn’t care at the moment. Your heart was thumping in your chest and all you felt was anger. He had the audacity to befriend you, say he really liked you for fucks sake, and then do a complete 180. You were grateful it was the weekend so you didn’t have to sit next to him in class.
You stomped through the snow, hurrying across the school grounds to the library (can you tell I have no idea what Hogwarts layout is?). You pushed open the doors and decided to basically hide yourself in an empty corner to try to cool down. After pulling the seat out, you sat down, slouching and resting your forehead on the table. You want to know what happened, why it happened
Was it his dad? Was it his friends? Was he jinxed or something? You let out a sigh of frustration. The idea of his dad convincing him to start treating people like trash again brought your anger back. You rolled your neck and ran your hands through it.
Pulling your wand out of your pocket, you waved it casually, summoning a book from one of the carts beside the isles. You didn't care what it was. You just wanted a distraction.
Luckily, for you, it didn't take long to get distracted. A few pages and more than a few dreadful minutes into your "reading", someone sat across from you. You looked over the rim of the book to see a smiling Gryffindor with big, round glasses slipping down his nose. He gave an awkward greeting while pushing his glasses back up.
"Hi to you too, Harry. This is a pleasant surprise. What can I do for you?" You smiled, shutting the book and crossing your arms over it.
"Well, I just heard about the Draco fiasco that took place a few hours ago-" had it really been hours? "-and I wanted to make sure you were OK." Harry scooted closer to the table, his cheeks a soft pink.
"I'm fine, man. You don't gotta stress about me." You stretched your arms over your head while leaning back in your chair. You were trying to give the illusion of calmness and it was sorta working.
"Oh, good! I'm- I'm glad you're ok!" He began to fiddle with his fingers, digging at the nails nervously. "Because I also wanted to ask.. Um.. If you are free? Like this weekend? To hang out?" His green eyes barely met yours and, instead, opted for staring right over your shoulder.
"Oh, I'm n-"
"He's not free, Potter. We have plans covering every minute of the weekend. Scram."
Your smile faded as Draco's voice filled the small corner. You looked up, immediately catching his stern gaze. He was leaning against the end of a bookshelf, his arms crossed and one foot crossed over the other. He was clearly chewing on his tongue, not that he'd admit it. You gave him a glare, your arms crossing over your chest.
"But, Draco. I thought I canceled our plans." Your voice was condescending and it only fueled his anger. Harry, noting the weird tension, ducked out of there quickly, swerving around Draco and speed walking to a safer, less awkward part of the library.
"What the fuck are you doing?" The blonde hissed while taking long steps over to the table. He was still staring you right in the eyes. Draco moved the chair Potter was sitting in and put his hands flat against the table. He made eye contact with him.
"Why should it matter to you? I thought I was just being a selfish hero." You narrowed your eyes at him, daring him to make a move. You could feel the anger returning from earlier.
"I never said selfish. Why are you making this so complicated? I have a reputation to withhold, (Y/n)." His eyes softened a bit. He looked down at the polished wood before looking at you again. Draco tried to give you a smile, but you didn’t return it; you just tapped your fingers against the table top.
"I don't give a rats ass about your shitty reputation! You bully pre-teens and they actually fear you and you think that's a good thing? That's what you wanna leave behind when you graduate here?" Your face was turning a deep shade of (insert skin color please). He knew he fucked up, not that he’d admit it, and his soft eyes hardened again.
"Remember who's in charge in this relationship, boy." His hand snaked around the back of your neck, tugging you forward. Your nostrils flared as you released a sigh. Was he really pulling out the dominant card right now?
"I told you there was no relationship." you shoved his hand away, standing straight up and walking past him. You didn’t get far before he grabbed the hood of your robe and tugged you back. He guided you so your back collided roughly with the end of the book case he was leaning against.
“I know you can’t quit me like that, love.” The pure-blood spat out the pet name as his thumb and index finger roughly grabbed your chin and tugged your head up. “We both know I infected you like a virus- I know you're obsessed with me, sweetie.” A menacing grin spread across Draco’s pale lips when your jaw dropped open and your mouth fumbled to find words to combat him.
He moved his leg between yours, his hands moving from the scrunched fabric of your hood to your neck. He leaned in, planting a rough kiss to your lips while his other hand untucked your shirt. He pushed his hand under the shirt, rubbing the skin of your hip while he deepened the kiss. He managed to push his tongue past your lips and ran along yours.
Draco angled his leg to brush against your crotch causing you to jolt in the kiss. He pulled back, his tongue licking your teeth while pulling back.
“Told you.” He purred out. The hand on your neck gives you a squeeze around the neck while his icy eyes go from your lips to your eyes. He could read you like a book. You hated it. “Don’t be a slut, darling. Let’s head to my room, yeah?” He didn’t move until you nodded your head slowly. “Good boy. Come on.”
The walk to the common room was long, but the hand around the back of your neck was sturdy. It didn't take long for him to have you pressed against the wall of his prefect bedroom, chest first, your pants basically vanished from your legs and his hand wrapped around your hard dick.
“You’re such a whore, aren’t ya, baby boy, hmm?” Draco’s voice boomed in your ear as his fingers interlocked into your skelp. You couldn’t help but sob. The hand on your dick was going faster, but refused to slide over the swollen head. Your nails scraped down the wall pressed against your front and Draco pressed your cheek harder against the brick. “Been such a bad boy- using that dirty mouth to talk so poorly about me and to flirt with my anime. If you wanted a three-some you should’ve asked Zabini. But Potter? You know that’s a firm no, baby.”
He was tsking before biting down on the side of your neck, the grip he had around your cock only tightened to the point of painful. Tears of humiliation and pain gathered in your eyeline, threatening to boil over. Your legs subconsciously spread when he began to grind into the bulge of your ass, his hard dick prominent into your crack. He licked a strip up from the bite to your ear.
“You know very well what happens to slutty bad boys who flirt with sir’s enemy, right, baby?” He was growling in your ear again, his hand coming to a tight hold at your base. He let out a mocking laugh when your legs clamped shut and your hips tried to wiggle out of his grasp.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry, Draco!” You squeaked out, voice a few octaves higher than usual. It made Draco happy to hear your pathetic pleas, but his joy was melting away due to you still squirming in his grasp. He shook his head, tsking again. He tugged your hair, yanking your head back and forcing you to bow against his body. He gave you a firm slap against the cheek before cupping your cheeks together and forcing your lips to pout, his hand still in your hair.
“You know that’s not my name right now, kitten. Use the right one.”
“I’m sorry, sir.” Your voice was weak compared to Draco’s, the obvious authority he had over you made you shiver. Abruptly, he pushed you against the wall, letting go of your hair and he was backing away from you.
“Not yet your not, kitten. Finish stripping then get your arse over here.” Draco spoke, sitting down on the bed, patting the top of his thighs. He smirked when you did what he said, tossing your shirt off into the corner and approaching him slowly. He reached out to grab your arm and tug you over his lap.
He used one hand to push your face into the mattress while the other ran over your right cheek. He loved watching your hips try to duck and avoid the cold silver of his rings. He let out a mocking laugh, his hands grabbing into your bum, nails digging into the skin to leave marks that had your back arching.
"Aw, baby. Is it too cold for you?" He laughed louder, feeling you nod against his left hand tangled in your hair. "Aw, poor baby. Wait until you feel them bruise your skin. Now, do you remember what you say?"
"Yes, sir." your voice sounded strained--like you were mentally preparing yourself for the bite of the rings, the puncture of his smacks. You were, in all honesty. He never held back during punishments.
"See? It isn't so hard to be a good boy after all, is it?" he patted your head before brushing your hair back. "Remember the safe system, darling? Good. Color?"
"Green, sir." your legs were clenching together and wiggling, but a swat to the back of the sensitive skin of your thighs made you stop. "I'm sorry sir."
"Good.. Now, how many does a horny little whore like you deserve, hmm? Ten? Fifteen?"
You knew what he was looking for.
"T-Twenty." You swallowed. The anticipation and degrading was making your head cloudy.
"Twenty? Well, you must've been really naughty, huh?" His hand ran to your lower back, caressing the skin before dragging his nails back down, leaving a trail of red marks down your skin.
You nodded your head quickly, biting your lip to conceal a moan. You could feel the pre-cum going down your hard dick, which was pressing into Draco's thigh.
"No response? Maybe we should add another ten then, since you wanna be so bad."
"I-I'm sorry, sir! Twenty is what I deserve." You said quickly, trying to turn back and give him the huge innocent eyes he always went weak for.
"No. Thirty seems far more fitting." He chose now to start the punishment with a raised hand and a harsh slap over the perfect curve of your ass. He watched the skin bounce and groaned, gripping the flesh again.
"One! Thank you sir." You squeaked out, back arching at the familiar sting of the hit. The cold silver of his rings colliding with your skin caused your toes to curl.
"Atta boy." he purred out, repeating the action on the other side.
“Two, thank you sir!”
By the tenth spank, tears were falling freely down your cheeks. By the fifteenth, your voice was breaking with each shout. By the twentieth, you were trying to crawl away. By the twenty-fifth, you were kicking your legs like a brat. Somehow you managed to count to thirty without losing track.
"You did so good, baby. Even if you were being a brat." Draco chuckled, running his fingers through your hair. His other hand rubbed your cheeks, trying to sooth the deep red (or whatever tint shows up with your skin, I wanna be as inclusive as possible) marks on your skin.
You let out another sniffle, propping yourself up on an elbow and wiping the tears off your cheeks. His hand ran up your sweat thighs, his palms rubbing the already sore skin of your ass once he got to it.
“Color?”
“Green, sir.” You turned your head to look at him. Your legs shifted, creating a shattering hyper awareness of how hard and how wet your cock was against his thigh. You caught his dirty smirk before he flipped you over. Suddenly, it was stoic and he was tugging your lower half back onto his lap. This time, Draco was sitting back on his calves, and he was steadily putting your legs around his waist.
“Good. Now,” he paused to lick his lips, “I’m going to fuck the brat out of you, got it?” His hands moved down your thighs before moving up to your pelvic bone. While you were responding with a polite, but breathless ‘yessir’, his hand was lazily wrapping around your cock.
He was still fully dressed, and the smooth fabric of his uniform pants rubbed against the sore spots on your ass. Your hips moved upward, trying to get more of his moving hand and less of the fabric against your bottom. You let out a breathy moan while his thumb idly swiped across the swollen head of your dick.
“That’s it.” He mumbled to himself over the sound of his zipper dropping. He mumbled a preparing, lubrication and cleaning spell, his hand still working you slowly. The blonde stuck his tongue out in concentration while pushing his own cock into your lubed ass. Draco let out a hum, his teeth clamping down onto his tongue. “Fuck yes. Such a good boy- my good little slut.” He let go of your dick and clamped his hands onto your waist and used the leverage to pull you down onto his cock.
You clamped a hand over your mouth, trying to muffle the cry as he stuffed his cock into you. You felt the wind knocked out of you. You gripped the sheets, whining pathetically. The head of his dick nudged against your sweet spot while he sat there, waiting patiently for you to adjust. It had been a bit of time since the last time you guys had fun sexy time. Your dick was literally throbbing, occasionally twitching, at the idea of him literally fucking you stupid. Your eyes were staring at the top of his four post bed, lost in your own thoughts when he began to move.
He tested the waters with the quick thrust, which yanked a moan from you. When you finally looked at him, you realized he was watching you intently, a menacing grin spread across his face.
“How’s your arse?” Draco asked, his voice condescending and cocky as he gave another thrust. His hand snaked around to your sore ass cheeks and gave one a tough squeeze, his nails digging in.
A cry left your lips, this time pain filled instead of pleasure. You planted your feet flat on the bed and tried to wiggle away from his grasp, which only made it worse.
“Sore, you dick!” You reached around, grabbing his wrist and trying to pull his hand away. “Ow! Let go, Draco!” You dug your nails into his wrist, trying to show him a small level of the pain he was causing but he just laughed, mocking your voice.
“Owie, it hurts! Take it, babe. You can do it.” He let go, his hands coming to hold your hips again before moving you at a punishingly rough pace. His muscular thighs rubbed against your ass, not that he cared. The pain was somehow starting to make the pleasure stronger. Soon it was filling your veins and fogging your brain.
Draco relished every moan, every gasp, every little sound you made. He listened to you whine out his name and it only fueled him more. He watched the sweat bead across your forehead and felt proud of himself.
“Atta boy. Gonna cum soon? Gonna cum completely untouched, like a whore? Hmm?” He purred out, leaning down to leave hickies across your neck and scratches down your chest. Your back arched pathetically off the bed while a woeful affirmative left your lips- but it wasn’t good enough for him.
“Say it.” He snarled, his voice too close to your ear to be that loud.
“G’nna cum, please.” You didn’t know what you were begging for, but your arms wrapped around his neck and pulling him closer. He shifted so he could rail you into the mattress and fulfill his promise.
“Please what? How can I help you if I don’t know what you want? What do you need, kitten?”
It was like he used the imperius curse on you. You bent to fit his mold and he couldn’t have asked for more.
“Please, sir. Please let me cum, please.” You whimpered, your toes curling in the air. Your ankles locked behind his waist and dug into him, effectively pulling him closer. His palm glided up your chest again and he gave you a smile.
“Course you can, love. Whenever you're good to go.” Draco didn’t ease up his hips, but his voice was softer and after a few thrusts hitting your prostate and a brush of his stomach against your weeping cock had you cumming. Your head tossed back and you didn’t bother to muffle the cry of his name.
It didn’t take much to follow you for Draco, it never did. He always thought one of the most beautiful expressions you could make was while you were cumming on his bed. That, and when he gave you candy and you smiled at him. He kissed every bruise he left on your skin before landing on your lips and laid next to you.
He pulled a sheet over the two of you- the room had gotten hot but he knew both of you were too tired to get cleaned and shower. He pulled you to his chest, kissing your temple.
“You did so good, baby. I love you.” He rested his chin against the top of your head, completely delving you in his shirt covered chest. He rubbed a hand down your back. Your boyfriend didn’t care about sweat.
“I love you too, Draco.” Your voice was rough and raspy. You planted a kiss to his cheek and nuzzled deeper into him somehow. “I miss you. The nice you- not the mean Slytherin you. He can suck my dick.”
“I know, I know. I’ll work on it. I promise.” Draco spoke between laughs. He hesitated, his mind bouncing between two questions he wanted to ask at once. “Do you want me to get you a bottle of water and we go take a bubble bath?” His voice was soft, but a massive grin spread across his lips when you nodded.
“Can we take a nap first?” You looked up at him with those big innocent eyes and gave him that smile he loved.
“Of course, dove.”

Day 113: Cooking
"Uncle Harry!" Teddy shouted as he came spilling through the floo. "Uncle Harry!"
Draco looked up from the book he was reading with an amused grin at his nephew, it seemed like only yesterday that Teddy had come flying through the floo for the very first time, laughing like he'd been told a wonderful joke. It was more than a decade ago now, though; it was hard to believe that the little boy whom he'd loved since a few months after his birth was almost 21 now.
"Uncle Har-" he started again before Draco interrupted.
"He's not here, bean," he said. "He's at a meeting with the Minister."
Teddy visibly deflated, "Do you think I could interrupt him? It's an emergency."
"What kind of emergency?" he asked as he closed his book. Knowing Teddy, it could be anything from having a finger very nearly severed to needing help picking out an outfit for school.
He groaned and made his way over to Draco, dragging his feet across the floor and plopping down beside him, "I need help learning how to make something for dinner for a date."
"I can help with that."
Teddy leveled him with an unimpressed, disbelieving look. It was so very much like Harry it was a wonder that he hadn't had to use his metamorphmagus powers at all.
"I can!" he protested.
"You can't cook," he replied.
Draco smirked at him, "Well I know that and you know that, but you know who didn't know that for the first eight months of dating me?"
(Read more below the cut)
"No way," he said, shaking his head as he laughed. "Uncle Harry can be oblivious but never about you."
He chuckled, "It's easy to make it seem like you cooked a meal if you just order things that seem like the could have been something you made."
"But wasn't he mad that you lied?"
"Honestly?" he asked, "He thought it was hilarious."
"But why did you lie?"
He shrugged, "Uncle Harry cooked so well and I didn't want to be a disappointment." He swallowed, "I didn't really feel worthy of his love in the beginning and not being able to cook felt like it was just one more thing that I couldn't do for him."
Teddy picked at his cuticle for a minute before he asked, "Did you regret lying?"
"I felt really embarrassed," he replied before deciding that he should just tell the story. "One morning, after Uncle Harry stayed over at my flat for the first time, he wanted to make breakfast together."
"Uh oh," Teddy said, obviously sensing where this was heading.
"Uh oh is right," he laughed. "I told him I didn't have anything in, which was true since I never cooked for myself, and I tried to convince him to go out for breakfast with me but," he shrugged, "You know how he is when he gets an idea in his head. He thought it would be romantic," he added with another chuckle.
"So what happened?"
He scratched the back of his neck, the embarrassment he'd felt all of those years ago rising up once more. "He apparated us back to his flat and into the kitchen. Then he asked me to crack the eggs while he got out other ingredients for omelets, he even handed me a bowl."
"And?"
"And I cracked the eggs on the counter and set the entire thing, shell and all, into the bowl."
Teddy burst out laughing, "You didn't."
"Oh, I did," he replied. "He turned around and I will never forget the look on his face as he stared at the bowl. The confusion warring with amusement like he wasn't quite sure if I was making a joke," he shook his head. "He didn't even get any words out to ask because I just burst into tears."
Frowning, Teddy asked, "But why?"
He sighed, "I know it's hard for you to imagine because Uncle Harry and I have been in love and in a happy relationship for almost your entire life, but in the beginning things were difficult. We were both trying to find our way, both trying not to fail the other, and it felt like I'd failed."
"But you didn't, though. Right?"
With a little smile, he nodded, "Right. I confessed that I'd been buying us meals and passing them off as homemade because I didn't want him to think I was useless."
"What did he say?"
"That I was many, many things but useless wasn't one of them," he replied, remembering the way Harry had cupped his face in his hands and stroked his thumbs tenderly over Draco's cheeks. "He taught me how to make omelets that morning. And we actually ended up cooking together a lot," he added. "We have a lot of fun in the kitchen."
"So, you could actually teach me how to make dinner?" he asked hopefully.
He inclined his head, "I could. And I will if you want me to, or..."
"Or?" Teddy asked.
"Or you could learn from my mistakes, tell her the truth, and ask her to teach you how to make dinner."
He stared down at his hands thoughtfully before saying, "Do you think that would work?"
"It worked for me," he said, "And it's certainly better than starting off a relationship with lies. If it's important for her that you know how to cook, you could always take a cooking class in the future."
After a long moment, Teddy nodded, "You're right. Thanks, Uncle Draco," he added, hugging him tightly for a moment before saying, "I've got to go," and jumping up. "See you later!"
"Love you," Draco called as Teddy dashed back to the fire place.
"Love you, too!' he called as he disappeared.
Shaking his head, Draco stood up and made his way to the kitchen to take out the steaks he'd started marinating earlier, and set about making dinner.
Harry arrived just as he was taking the steaks off of the grill top, "Hey, you," he said, kissing Draco's cheek.
"Hi," he replied, leaning in to steal a kiss. "I saw your nephew today," he said as Harry pulled a couple of wine glasses down.
"Oh?" he asked, "I'm sorry I missed him."
Draco plated their steaks, mashed potatoes, and green beans, passing one plate across the island to Harry, "You'll never guess what he wanted."
"You'd better just tell me then," he said as he hand Draco a glass of the Cabernet he'd just opened.
He grinned, "He wanted you to teach him how to cook dinner to impress a girl."
"Ah, well, that makes him your nephew then, doesn't it?"
Draco laughed, "I told him that. Told him the whole story, in fact."
"Oh? What did he decide on then?"
He reached across the island to take Harry's hand in his, "He's going to ask her to teach him to cook."
"Well, we can expect a happy announcement any time, then," he said with a smile. "I was in love with you well before we started cooking together but after that," he shook his head, "I was completely gone on you."
"Me too," he said softly.
"And I have been ever since." He brought Draco's knuckles to his lips, "And I'm sure I always will be."

Your sixth year at Hogwarts was getting tough. You had a lot of classes you needed to pass, and it wasn’t exactly easy. So when you needed help with your classes,it was obvious that you would ask your dear friend Hermione for some help. Hermoine was known for doing amazing in school and she always helped you out when you needed it. ‘’Hermione!’’ You called out as you spotted the brown haired girl walking down the halls. She quickly turned around and a small smile spread across her lips as she spotted you. ‘’Y/N!’’ She smiled as she started walking towards you. She pulled you into a tight hug before smiling. ‘’How are you doing?’’ She asked you while taking a steadier grip of the books she was holding in her arms. You let out a small sigh before speaking. ‘’I’m doing alright I suppose,’’ You answered with a small smile on your lips. ‘’School’s getting tough.’’ She nodded as a response as she studied the books you were holding in your hands. ‘’Astronomy?’’ She asked before looking up at you again. You nodded and looked down at the book you were holding. ‘’It’s really taking a toll on me.’’
Hermione always passed every class with the highest grade. She was the main reason why you even managed to pass any of your classes last year, and she was most likely to be the reason why you passed every class this year as well. ‘’I understand, it really isn’t easy, is it?’’ Hermione said, shaking her head. You shook your head as well, a small smile starting to spread on your lips. ‘’But that's why I have you, am I right?’’ You smirked at her, making the brown haired girl in front of you giggle. ‘’And speaking of you saving me from failing all my classes, are you free tonight? I could really use some help.’’ You asked, giving her the puppy eyes. She laughed before lightly hitting you in the arm. ‘’You know I can’t say no when you make that face!’’ She exclaimed. ‘’But sadly, I have to decline your offer today Y/N.’’ She added. ‘’C’mon Hermione! How come?’’ You begged. ‘’I myself also have to study, I also go to school in case you forgot,’’ She joked. You let out a deep sigh before nodding. ‘’Yeah, I understand.’’
As you were about to say goodbye and leave to go study on your own, the brown haired girl stopped you. ‘’But I do know someone who probably could help you study.’’ Hermione said, turning around so she was facing the other direction. You raised one of your eyebrows in confusion as you looked over her shoulder, trying to see who she was looking for. Hermione's eyes scanned the halls, a focused look plastered on her face. Suddenly, her whole face lit up. ‘’Harry!’’ She yelled, making the brown haired boy further down the hall turn around.
You and Harry didn’t have a problem with each other. Not at all actually, you two got along quite well. The only problem was your boyfriend. It wasn’t a secret that Draco and Harry absolutely despised each other. Harry smiled at you two before he started to make his way towards you. ‘’Hi Hermione,’’ He said as he approached you. His eyes moved from Hermione over to you. ‘’Hi Y/N.’’ He said, still with a smile on his face. You gave him half a smile as you gave him a small wave. You knew Draco would be fuming if he saw what was going on right now. ‘’Well, Harry,’’ Hermione said, turning to you. ‘’Miss Y/L/N here could really use some help studying astronomy.’’ She gave you a satisfied smile. Your eyes widened as the words left her mouth. You could tell that the words surprised Harry just as much as they had surprised you as he opened his mouth to say something, but not a word left his lips. Hermione's smile quickly faded as her eyes switched between you and Harry. ‘’Oh c’mon now! Don’t be silly,’’ She exclaimed, rolling her eyes. ‘’If this is because of Malfoy,’’ She complained as she crossed her arms.
You could feel as the atmosphere changed. You looked down at your shoes and Harry let out an awkward cough. ‘’This is so silly. What’s wrong with just helping her Harry? It’s not like Draco is gonna be there, is it?’’ Hermione asked, clearly annoyed. Before the boy had any time to answer her question, she spoke again. ‘’And I thought you really needed the help, Y/N?’’ She asked you. You looked up from your shoes, your eyes meeting hers. You looked over at Harry, who was also looking at you. You let out a sigh before your eyes met Hermiones once again. ‘’I suppose you’re right.’’’ You answered. Hermoine gave you a satisfied smirk as she nodded. ‘’I told you so. Just because Harry and your silly boyfriend has some problems with each other doesn’t mean he can control who you get to hang around.’’
Hermione wasn’t wrong. Draco couldn’t tell you who you could hang out and who you couldn’t hang out with. But you still tried to not engage too much with the golden trio purely because you knew how it would make Draco feel. ‘’So you wanna meet me in the Gryffindor's common room tonight?’’ Harry asked, his eyes set on you. Your eyes met his as you nodded. ‘’Sure,’’ You replied. A small smile formed on his lips as he nodded. ‘’I’ll see you then, Y/N.’’ He smiled. ‘’Thank you Harry, I do really appreciate it.’’ You smiled back. He nodded before giving you one last smile, turning around and started walking away. ‘’How terrible could it be?’’ Hermione asked as your eyes met. You looked her dead in the eyes before opening your mouth to speak. ‘’If Draco breaks up with me, it’s all on you.’’ You joked, making her chuckle. ‘’You know I wouldn’t complain.’’
The night went by quickly. You went to the Gryffindor common room after dinner, meeting Harry there. And Hermione wasn’t excatly wrong. You and Harry got along better than you remember. Ever since you got with Draco a couple months ago, you hadn’t been around Harry too much. You kind of forgot what he was like. ‘’So you’re telling me you wanted to play quidditch?’’ Harry questioned you, looking surprised. You laughed before speaking. ‘’Oh, shut up Potter! Personally, I think I would do just great.’’ You said proudly. ‘’Whatever you say Y/N,’’ He chuckled before looking down at the book that was laying on the table in front of him. The Gryffindor common room was surprisingly empty tonight, it had only been you and Harry in there all night. You looked up at the big clock that was hanging on the wall in front of you. ‘’Oh my merlin, it’s already late!’’ You exclaimed, a feeling of panic washing over you. ‘’I was supposed to be back in my dorm an hour ago,’’ You continued as you gathered all your books. Harry helped you gather the books and followed you to the door.
‘’Thank you for tonight Harry, I really appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.’’ You said as you were on your way out. ‘’Of course, I had a really great time.’’ He smiled at you. ‘’Me too, despite the circumstances.’’ You laughed as you looked down at your shoes. ‘’You know, I really hope we can be friends even if you’re with Malfoy.’’ He said softly, making you sigh. ‘’Wish me good luck telling him I was even studying with you today.’’ You laughed quietly. ‘’You’ll probably need it.’’ He smirked, earning himself a light punch to the arm from you.
The following morning was a disaster. You got to your dorm really late the night before, which led to you not sleeping as much as you would like to; causing you to almost sleep through your alarm. You were rushing through the crowded halls, trying your best not to bump into anyone while getting to your class. Something felt extremely off today. It was almost like everyone was staring at you, like you could hear them whispering about you. You just brushed it off, not thinking about it. Until you ran into someone. ‘’So the rumours are true?’’ A familiar voice said, making you look up from your shoes. In front of you stood Draco, a very upset Draco.
He wasn’t upset as in crying, he looked rather angry. The smile that had formed on your lips as you spotted the blond boy in front of you quickly faded and was replaced by confusion. ‘’What rumours?’’ You asked, feeling baffled. He snorted as he looked up, breaking eye contact. ‘’I’m not stupid Y/N,’’ He muttered angrily. ‘’Draco, I literally have no idea what you’re talking about.’’ You said, defending yourself. ‘’So what is it everyone is talking about then? You leaving the Gryffindor common room late last night with Harry Potter right behind you?’’ He spat at you, his blue eyes meeting yours again. Your heart dropped. You were hoping you got to tell Draco before anyone else did, but it looked like it was already too late.’’Draco, please let me explain,’’ you said, slightly panicking. He let out a chuckle in disapproval. ‘’So it is true?’’ he asked, staring at you. ‘’No, or yes, I was there!’’ You exclaimed. ‘’But I wasn’t there for the reason you think,’’ You continued. At this point your heart was beating faster than ever. You had no idea what to do or how to feel at this point. ‘’I should’ve seen it coming.’’ Draco muttered before pushing you out of his way, making his way down the hall with determined steps.
You stumbled back as your eyes followed the blond boy. You quickly followed him, trying your best to make your way through the crowds. You kept your eyes on Draco, trying your best not to lose him in the sea of people but it was getting harder, as he walked faster and faster. At this point you didn’t care if you pushed some people out of your way on accident, all you cared about was getting to your boyfriend. Suddenly he made a turn, walking into the rest rooms. You ran after him, not even caring if it was the boy’s rest room. You watched as he made his way towards one of the sinks, placing both his hands on it as he approached it; looking himself in the mirror. ‘’Draco,’’ You let out, out of breath from running down the halls. He looked at you standing behind him in the mirror. ‘’Leave.’’ He said aggressively. You shook your head. ‘’Please let me explain.’’ You begged, making him turn around. ‘’Y/N,’’ He let out bitterly. ‘’I said leave.’’ He repeated himself. ‘’I’m not leaving until you let me explain myself.’’ You exclaimed. ‘’I already know everything I need to know,’’
‘’You cheated on me with Potter. Potter out of all people, after everything I’ve done for you?’’ Draco shouted, making you jump. You had never heard Draco yell like that before, not at you. ‘’For Merlin's sake Draco, I didn’t cheat on you!’’ You uttered. You felt the tears burning behind your eyelids, trying your best not to let them fall. But that’s when you noticed his glossy eyes. You had been with Draco for a couple of months now, but you had never seen him cry; in fact, no one had ever seen him cry. Not even his closest friends. ‘’I really trusted you.’’ He murmured, a tear falling onto his pale cheek. You could psychically feel your heart break right there and then. You slowly walked up to him as he turned around once again, his fingers tapping the sink in front of him anxiously. ‘’You need to leave, now.’’ He said in a low voice as you got closer to him. You didn’t answer him, instead you just kept walking towards him until you reached him. You slowly wrapped your arms around his waist, leaning your head on his back. ‘’He was just helping me study for astronomy,’’ You whispered, feeling his shaky breath. ‘’Hermione was busy so he offered some help. You know how hard I’ve been working on passing astronomy this year,’’ You continued, your thumb stroking the fabrics of his robe.
The boy stayed quiet. You could hear him holding back sobs as he continued to take shaky breaths, still tapping the sink. ‘’Why him out of all people?’’ He whispered. ‘’Because he’s my friend Draco,’’ You whispered back, still hugging him tightly. ‘’You can’t keep me from being friends with people.’’ Before you could continue speaking, the blond turned around, making you loosen the grip you had of him. Your eyes met. His face was covered in tears, his eyes red from all the crying. You truly had never seen him like this and it absolutely broke your heart. He quickly pulled you into a tight hug, wrapping his arms around your waist as he buried his face in the crook of your neck. You wrapped your arms around his neck, planting small kisses along his neck. You could feel him sob into your robe, but you didn’t mind. You stroke his soft hair as you tried your best to comfort him. ‘’I really thought you cheated on me Y/N.’’ He sobbed, his voice being muffled. ‘’I would never cheat on you Draco.’’ You whispered, a tear dropping onto your cheek. ‘’Why didn’t you just ask me for help?’’ He asked after a while, slowly pulling away, placing his forehead on yours. ‘’Because I know how much you already have to get done, I didn’t want to bother you with my problems,’’ You said, placing one hand on his wet cheek; wiping the tears away. ‘’I always have time for you,’’ He mumbled, avoiding eye contact. You gave him a small smile. ‘’I love you,’’ You mumbled back, making him look back up at you. ‘’I’m really sorry for not telling you before everyone else had the chance to, I just didn’t think it was such a big deal, but I see now that it is.’’ You continued, stroking his hair. ‘’Next time I see Potter, he’s dead.’’ He muttered, making you giggle. ‘’That’s the Draco I know.’’ You smiled before he pressed his lips against yours, making you smile even bigger. No one could ever compare to this boy.
