New Chapter of “007 (Another Experiment Steve Fic)” Chapter 8: “Revelation”

“Look, Steve and I aren’t friends and I’m gonna tell you what I told the other guys; I don’t know where he is. If I did, I would kick the bastard’s ass myself…or tell you. He ran off after the fight in the alleyway behind the movie theater. Did you check his house or something?”

“It’s not occupied.” Brenner replied, looking through the photos and focusing on one in particular of Steve lounged in one of the lounge chairs, “Tell me…why did you attack Steve? When you did…did he use any of his gifts? Did he make you? Throw something with his mind…anything?”

Jonathan gave him a look of confusion, “What? What is he…Professor X? Are you crazy?”

Brenner chuckled at that, shaking his head, explaining that he was not crazy, but that he was a scientist who was interested in…Gifted Children. He had a program that helped them develop and strengthen their abilities. Steve had been one of these children, but he had been taken…much like Will had been taken from the Byers.

“And you want to find your brother, don’t you?” Brenner asked, “Because, like your mother…I know you know he’s not dead.”

Jonathan said nothing as he listened, jaw clenched and breathing heavily. He was still processing the “fact” that Steve fucking Harrington supposedly had powers and was wanted by, who? Who were these guys? The US Government? CIA? Jonathan still didn’t know but he was cursing Steve’s name for once again getting them into trouble. And then there was the matter of his mother, who was probably worried sick about both of her missing boys and was out there with his asshole father.

“Now, what if I told you I could help you find Will, hm?” Brenner asked, Jonathan perking up at that, “Tell me all you know about Steve and I will tell you where Will really is.”

Jonathan looked at him, now realizing what his mother had been talking about, “…where is he?”

… is more than simply the surgeon.

While the number and type of professionals involved in a surgery can differ based on several factors, a surgical team typically includes (as a minimum) a surgical assistant, an anaesthetist, multiple nurses (responsible for different key functions), a surgical tech, and a handful of trainee doctors — all of whom play vital roles in the operation.

While surgeons are unfortunately not renowned for being great team players, the truth of the matter is that we can’t do our jobs without a team of highly-trained, invested, and supportive practitioners around us.
