i’ve been watching too much greys anatomy so the desire for doctors has gone up.

you were panicking as you guys stepped into the er. your three year old, lexi, had fallen off the playground set at the park and got a cut on her head and you were terrified. this was your second month without her deadbeat father and every second it’s been terrifying. the nurses check you guys in and put you on one of the beds in the corner, half closing the curtains for some privacy. “look mommy!” lexi exclaims, looking at a my little pony sticker she found in my purse. you grab two of her toys out, allowing her to play with them as you wait for the doctor. right as you begin playing with her, the curtains move. “hey there, i heard we took a bit of a fall on the playground?” the doctor says, looking between you and your daughter. lexi nods her head as you speak. “she was trying to show me something she found and leaned a little too far. i tried to catch her but i wasn’t fast enough.” you explain, beating yourself up for not being there.

“well, i’m dr.cameron and im gonna get it all checked out okay?” he asks, beginning to check lexi for any more injuries. i can’t help but notice how blue his eyes are. he jokes around with lexi as he takes her temperature and checks her reflexes. “do you have kids?” you ask, wondering how he knows exactly what to say. you pause for a moment and blink. “i’m so sorry, that was none of my business.” you quickly apologize, waving your hands out in front of you. lexi looks up at you, handing you one of her toys and giggling. “you’re all right, don’t worry about it. i don’t have kids myself but being in pediatrics sorta makes you have to learn how to speak to them.” he flashes you a smile and you can’t help but melt. “your little girl checks out alright, so i’m gonna have an intern stitch her up and you guys should be on your way!” he says as another doctor comes and takes a place next to your daughter.

“i promise he knows what he’s doing, trained him myself.” dr. cameron soothes, winking at you. you nod at him, smiling weakly before taking lexi’s hand. she squeezes it as she gets stitched up, tearing up for the first two. “you’re doing so good angel.” you comfort her, kissing the top of her head when they finish. you put all your belongings back into your purse while they instruct you on when to come back to have the stitches taken out and how to take care of them. they give lexi a couple of cartoon bandaids, and it makes her day. you whisper a thank you to them as you take her hand and begin walking towards the exit. “wait wait wait!” you hear behind you and see dr.cameron coming towards you. he takes you to the side so you aren’t in anyone’s way and smiles at you. “i wanted to give you this.” he hands you a piece of paper with his number written on it. “if you ever need anything, call me. and when she comes back to get her stitches removed, have them page me. i’ll make sure she’s taken care of. now both of you, go be safe.” he grins before turning back and walking away. you feel warm as you walk out the door. as soon as you get in the car, you text him. “thanks for everything. hopefully next time i’ll need help isn’t an emergency, that way i can just stare at you shamelessly.” you breathe for a second, surprised at your own actions. you turn and make sure lexi is okay before you drive home. as soon as you park, your phone buzzes. “you were doing that anyways. next time it’s my turn.”

“Morning” Mer says walking up to me with Lexie smiling

“Morning” I sigh feeling sick to my stomach

“Everything ok?”

“Just morning sickness. Whoever decided to call it morning sickness is a dick. It’s all day sickness for me” Mark then walks over to us smiling

“Morning”

“I hate you” I say crossing my arms

“Why? What did I do?”

“Knocked her up” Mer says before walking off with Lexie

“Feeling sick again?”

“Threw up twice already this morning and it’s only 10am”

“At least we know little one is safe and happy in there” Mark places his hand gently on my stomach

“Hmmm” I hum before getting paged “I gotta go”

“Lunch date later?” Mark asks. I give him a smile and small nod

“Yeah I’d like that”

“I was thinking that maybe we could get back together”

“I…. I erm” I feel so off guard right now “I gotta go” with this I turn and leave as quick as I can.

“Dad?” I say walking into a patient room

“Hi pumpkin”

“Why didn’t you call to say you were sick?” I ask pulling over a tray and putting some gloves on

“The pain comes and goes”

“So you thought you could sneak in without making a fuss? God dad you could be rejecting Mers liver”

“Calm down. Please”

“Your telling a pregnant woman to calm down when her dads in hospital?”

“YN please. There’s something I need to talk to you about that I should have told you. I go to AA a couple times a week”

“Congratulations dad. You want a gold star”

“Just listen will you. Sometimes you have to get up in front of everyone and say your peace” I take the ribbon to go around his arm while I draw blood and tighten it “and then maybe there’s a person there who talks to you and then maybe you go out to coffee with them”

“So a sponsor?”

“No not a sponsor….”

“Sorry I got turned then I ended up back in the lobby” a woman walks in and before I know it she kisses dad

“Not a sponsor”

“Oh god. No Ew no. How old is she? You look younger than me no oh god” i quickly take the blood sample and start to pack up

“I can’t deal with dad right now I’m to busy dealing with mom”

“Please go and see him, I’m meant to having lunch with Mark and I’ve just thrown up again and mark wants to get back together and all I want to do is go home and cry….”

“Woah woah woah slow down Mark wants to get back together with you?” Christina says “and you don’t want to?”

“That’s the problem I want to but we broke up and now I’m pregnant and it’s complicated and now dad has a 20 year old girlfriend who’s clearly younger than Lexie and….”

“Ok ok stop stressing. Go find Lexie and send her to dads room. I’ll talk to him. You sit down, Christina will find Mark. I think you both need to talk”

Within 10 minutes Mark rushes in with a bottle of water looking panicked

“What’s wrong? Is everything ok?”

“No” I burst out crying

“What’s going on?” Mark pulls me into him and let’s me cry on his chest

“Stupid hormones. Dads back in hospital and he’s brought his girlfriend with him and she’s younger than Lexie so it’s now weird and I know you wanted to have lunch but I feel so sick, probably a combination of morning sickness and hearing about my dad doing the dead and this morning you said you wanted to get back together which I didn’t respond to because I’m scared that if I say yes something else will happen that makes us break up but this time there’s a baby involved”

“Ok first of all breath. Take a sip of water and take a deep breath” I do as Mark says “when I said I wanted us to get back together I didn’t mean we immediately move back in and start from where we left things. We have a baby on the way so I know we need to be carful, but I never stoped loving you and I truly want to try again”

“I never stoped loving you either” I say looking up at Mark “I want us to try again as well”

“Then we take things slow. Now I know you said you feel sick, but you gotta eat something. So what do you fancy?”

Lexie Grey, beautiful, so sweet, such a good heart, she was an amazing girl, how couldn't you fall for her? It took a very little time, when you met her you already know that one day that girl would have been your girlfriend. Well, hopefully.

Everything she did did nothing but surprise you, there were no flaws with her. You were also close friends, you were always there for each other. She was a messy, but you loved that girl.

Lately, however, something had changed between you. When you met you no longer had long conversations, everything was different. And what worried you was whether things were changing for the better or for the worse. Now you talked more about patient cases. Neither about her daily crisis. Damn, you missed this too, often when she talked you just looked at her and get lost. She made you feel in an indescribable way, almost like when they say the butterflies on your stomach.

All you needed right now was just eating something, it had been a long morning and you didn't ate anything. You went to the hospital canteen with your friends, taking your time and thinking about all the little things that came in your mind.

"Where's Lexie, I haven't seen her today?" Meredith asked referring to you since you were always together. "Y/n?" She repeated as you haven't heard.

"Hm?" you came back to yourself.

"I just asked about Lexie, do you know where she is?" She asked again. You sighed.

"I honestly don't know..." you simply replied. She nodded, a little confused too. You looked around when you finally saw her arriving. Lexie.

"I'm gonna back working, see you later" you quickly greeted them, trying to follow her. You just wanted to clearing things.

You didn't want to seem suspicious but you were acting almost like a stalker right now. You arrived to the locker rooms, but apparently it was too late since she was already went away.

You tried to wander through the patient rooms when you saw her heading towards the nurses station. You walked towards her.

"Lexie" you called her.

"Oh, hey" she smiled. "Since you're here could you call Dr. Shepherd, my patient needs a neurological consultation" she asked focusing at her stuff.

I raise my eyebrows. "Really?" I ask crossing my arms. "Lexie, can I please know what's going on?"

"I'm, umh, I'm just doing my job" she said like nothing looked normal.

"Come on, you exactly know what I'm talking about" he places his things on the table and says nothing else. "So?" She just kept looking at you, then walked away.

You followed her, pretty confused. "Lexie!" She stopped when you called her.

She turned towards you, approaching, and grabbing you for kissing you on your lips. You were just so surprised, but damn, that was so good.

"Alexandra Grey" you whispered when the kiss ended.

"I'm sorry" she said as you still were very close. You laughed softly.

"For what?"

"I just didn't know how to- well you're my best friend, my person, and I-"

"I love you Lexie" you said cutting her off. She smiled softly, that smile you loved so much that you would have done anything to see it. "I thought the same, but I do, I want you to be more of a friend to me" you said with your hands on her cheeks.

"I'd love it" she said kissing you softly again.

Yeah, everything about your relationship changed, but that was in better.

Ok this is probably just me but I HATE having company over.

It is probably how I was raised but still whatever!

This goes for family or friends!

Especially when it’s someone I haven’t seen in years (or only met them once in my lifetime) or worse, they decide to come over with their WHOLE entire family without asking first if that is okay THE F—?! Like dude I never met your wife or husband and kids, never even seen a god damn picture of them.

BETTER YET, never seen them at a family gathering first to get to know what I am dealing with!! 😤

And you expect me to comply, huh?! Like dude I have a life with my own routine and now I have to make room for you to enter my home! Imagine if I had a boyfriend, or my OWN family, they have to comply too?!

So in result I have to change my whole personality and style just to fit a certain mood or standard in your eyes ughhhh! In my house?! Bish no!

Ok look, I get it, if the person is coming over to my place for a visit, like your here for 3-5 hours! That I can 💯 guarantee I can deal with, cause I know by the end of the day—YOUR GONE!

But if you’re staying at my house for a week or so, just thinking me and whoever else living there, would agree to this shit—THEN YOUR MISTAKE!

Like dude does it even process in your head how rude and disrespectful and annoying that sounds?!

Just 📞 like “oh hey my friend or family member, I’mma come over to your house for a few day with my friends or family, okay yeah cool! See you soon!” THE HELL?! 😖

High chance when you come over, you won’t respect my wishes and boundaries either!

and lexie, in her wrinkled scrubs and shoes scuffed by too many twelve-hour shifts, feels like a ghost in comparison. still, she smiles, small and quick, like a reflex. ❝ you’re... lost, ❞ she says, a statement more than a question. daphne replies but lexie can't help but be distracted, hearing the loud sirens of the ambulance and not realizing what she'd heard. lexie fumbles for a response, suddenly aware of how her ponytail is frizzing out in all directions. lexie shifts her weight, her clipboard suddenly too heavy in her hands.

Starting off with some of the one that instantly came to me;

Garcia: She's in dermatology. We all know she doesn't like the ick and gruesome of crime scenes, so she wants to stay away from all the blood and gore of surgery. And the ep when they discover the derm floor? it's all happy and calm and rainbows and sunshine and I just think she would fit in well there!

Spencer: he's nuero. It just makes sense, he's super smart, with his memory would be able to excel in that field. While schizophrenia is a mental illness it's still likely the most linked to neurological and that's gonna be a big motivation there too.

Tara: girl's ortho. Don't ask me why. She just is. She's the one out of all of them I think would love breaking bones the most. She can't help but feel cocky when the big football players come in with dislocated shoulders and they're all manly about it until she's shoving it back into place and they're screaming like babies. She'd also be so soft and so good with kids who come in who fell off the monkey bars or something.

Alex Blake: psych. I think that's pretty self explanatory. she'd excel there, or possibly be the hospital's therapist cause lord knows those dr's need fucking help. lol

Emily: Cardio god. She just has that power and you know she's the cocky, sometimes the god complex comes out. She'd be incredible. (she'd also be the McSteamy of this universe but less of a dick, and with a bigger dick. i don't make the rules)

Hotch: he's gonna be chief, or like, the head of the resident program thing. Something similar to Webber. He just has the upper level authority that people respect.

JJ: pediatrics. She's so good and soft with the tiny humans. If she hadn't fully decided on a specialty it was after having Henry that she realized she wanted to be able to help kids and she's super good with keeping parents calm.

Morgan: Hear me out. He's either an EMT or a nurse. Cause we all need a hot boi nurse in our lives. Or he's the super hot emt that rolls up with ambulances and just knows all the nurses are heart eyed for him. He flashes that cocky grin, sticks around for a coffee, little flirt master.

Rossi: i came up blank, but Lu says optometry so I agree. He's probably just around doing consults and hanging out, not as much surgery anymore. Still a published author but this time medical books, has a plethora of knowledge when the younger dr's are looking for something specific in a medical journal.

Luke: I've put him down for trauma. I think he'd be able to do that really well, his experience in the field, he's quick on his feet, not afraid to improvise kinda thing.

As for who'd be friends with whom and other little headcanons, I don't have much because there's SO many characters on Grey's and it's been a while since i've watched it (this ask literally made me restart s2, so i might have more thoughts as I go through LOL)

-Garcia and Arizona are absolutely gonna be besties. They both love all things fun and pink and adorable.

-Spencer and Lexi are 1000% going to find a bff in each other. They've both kinda grown up the "weird" kid who graduated super early and shit, so they've finally found someone else who's like them and the same age.

-Rossi is going to find himself immediately adopting the Deluca siblings. At first it's just because he hears them arguing in Italian and is able to cut in and calm them down but after he hears about their dad/family dynamics he's just all "nope, i am your papa pasta now"

-Spencer & Meredith are going to have some dark and twisty bonding over their mothers and how trying to help them is honestly exhausting and draining but they're gonna keep doing it and trying to find cures/treatments.

-Rossi and Luke are going to have some form of boding with Teddy and Owen over their various times serving and the trauma/ptsd and shit that comes with that.
