FOLKLORE - A DPS FANFIC?

Hi guys just wanted to say that I am working on a DPS fanfic based loosely around some themes in the FOLKLORE ALBUM (IT IS SO THEM) - this will also be the first fanfic I upload ever For context it pretty much picks up from the play and goes on from there but there will be a prologue - I am still working on it and if I do continue with it - It is probably going to be updated on a weekly Basis - I have no idea where this is going to go tho WHAT IT FEATURES - I think Anderperry (ofc) Overton (Will take time) Richard Cameron character exploration (the dude really needs it) Chet Danbury isn't that bad? Chris Noel being a legend And much more hopefully :)

Notes:

Inspired by this comic, as well as this one show I watched on Netflix a few years ago about near-death experiences and spirituality. I cannot remember what it was called for the life of me and I don't want to bother looking it up right now lol

Idea:

When Danny gets electrocuted by the portal, time seems to stop. It’s excruciating, the worst pain he has ever felt, and will probably ever feel, like his body is on fire and freezing and being pulled apart and violently compressed all at once. It seems to go on forever.

But then it all fades away.

He sees that light at the end of the tunnel that movies always tell you to avoid. He feels nothing but peace and safety and content as he approaches it. He enters a vast, endless space and he realises this is all he has ever needed, what his soul has craved since his first moment on Earth. This is what humanity is destined for, an eternity of wonder and tranquillity, to die and get to finally experience life.

And then he’s ripped away from it in an instant and back in his parents’ lab. The pain, the fear, everything, it’s all back in full force. Sam and Tucker weep as he takes a breath, relieved that he’s not dead.

That night, he silently cries to himself because he’s not dead.

Who knew that just a moment in the afterlife could affect someone so absolutely?

He goes to school, he hangs out with his friends, he does all the mundane things he used to be able to find some amount of joy in, but now it all seems so pointless. He’s seen what’s in store, and this all feels like a waste when he could be experiencing something that truly felt like home, like the love of the universe packed into one place.

He stopped putting effort into school. What was the point? He spent time with his friends and family only because they asked him to. He used his newfound powers to help people because it felt like the best use of his time while he was still on Earth. People accused him of throwing his life away, criticised his lack of effort and his refusal to better himself.

He just waited to once again be reunited with the universe.
