ao. theory for why doug never says a fucking thing out loud even when a) actively getting beaten to death or b) inside his own goddamn head (besides flashbacks that prove he DOES have a voice actor, so there'sno doylist explanation): you have to pay a toll to do the ritual to confer with a demon/bierce.

bierce, ofc, paid using agatha's life. doug paid with his voice - communication is power, especially for a lawyer and someone who relied on charisma like he did. idk i like the idea of doing Anything with demons coming with a hefty price, whether whatever happens goes good or bad for you.

HI HELLO ANON YES I AM HI HI HI Yeah, I've heard that theory tossed around quite a bit, and I can kinda see it! I have like, one or two doubts that could probably be disproved regarding it (mostly due to lack of information that might be revealed later), but otherwise, I see the vision, and it would make sense for his character. Something something all he's used his words for was to manipulate and deflect his wrongdoings, and actions speak louder than words. It also reminds me of when Doug was yelling for Bierce to open the portal at the end of Bearly Buried, and now that scene is 10x funnier to me. Just the image of Doug standing there at the portal, mouth agape in a silent scream while his mommy issues creep up behind him fucking sends me. Alas, I do wish we had a version of Dark Deception where Doug was able to talk and contribute to the conversations. I know it ruins the reveal of who we are and all that comes with that, but I just need to hear Doug talking shit to Malak ONCE please. You KNOW he'd taunt the hell out of him, tell me I'm wrong. Also, him telling Bierce to fuck off mid-level would be pretty funny. Oh well, at least we've got Monsters and Mortals.

In one of your posts you said that there were some songs you were gonna animate with some characters either from The Graveyard Shift or idk. Are there any animatics about that topic that you have started?

I have no animatics, but a butt ton of hyperphantasia, so this ask was an opportunity to draw out scenes that haunt my mind every day

For The Graveyard Shift in particular, I have ideas for the following songs (sorta in order from least to most unhinged and including spoilers for future TGS characters)

"Shit" by Bo Burnham

Probably most of Tom Cardy (Perception Check and Hey I Don't Work Here shown here)

"You Didn't Know" from Hazbin Hotel , bc Lute's line didn't need to go that hard but its burned into my memory at this point (also this animatic somehow evolved from its initial concept while working on this ask so now it's Rosemary and Gregory)

"We Don't Talk About Bruno", but Michael Afton is Bruno being talked by every other mascot horror because Sammy's looking for him

"Waiting In The Wings (Reprise)" from Tangled the Animated Series (this is actually the most serious bc it's actual character growth between Mike and Doug)

"Forklift Simulator" by Sbassbear (bc I base Mike's and Ethan's friendship and humor off of Game Grumps interactions)

and finally "Bring In the Love" by Dankmus, bc this stupid remix has been haunting me for the better part of half a year now and stupid sexy workout William won't leave me alone

If I had a nickel for every time I got into a kinda goofy first person horror game with an alliterative title where you play as someone at rock bottom trying to acquire something that'll change their life, forced to run away from their enemies through many levels littered with booby traps in the vague style of an already existing iconic video game while surrounded by the bodies of those who had tried to reach the goal before with a tablet item in hand and a few different abilities at their disposal, with one such enemy after them being a cussing rabbit mascot who considers the player to be lucky for making it this far, and at one point the man antagonist tries to strike a deal with the protag for a better/more interesting offer than their original goal, I'd have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
