#dooku and animals is such a thing of beauty

In dooku: Jedi lost dooku ends up taking care of 2 (?) of Lene’s birds and it’s implied that he’s really good at it/they like him a lot. Extending this to animal/‘pathetic life form’ lover qui-gon, do you think that dooku was the reluctant dad who pretended to hate all of qui-gon’s pets during their time together?
Like Qui-gon brings home a feral tooka and dooku vows to toss it out the window after it shreds the hem of one of his capes but qui catches his master feeding the tooka bites of his own dinner. Or on a mission qui-gon manages to get adopted into an eopie herd and happily takes shelter there for the night. Dooku says sleeping in hay is uncivilized and he’ll camp out in their starship but he’s found buried beneath baby eopies in the morning with hay in his beard. To me he’s the type to admire majestic animals like lene’s convors for their poise and elegance but will let a little massiff puppy drool all over him if he thinks no one is watching (qui-gon is (he took several pictures)).
SO REAL. DOOKU IS THE FUCKING DAD WHO "DOESN'T WANT A CAT" UNTIL YOU OFFER HIM A CREATURE AND HE WILL JUST. SPOIL IT. WHILE FROWNING AT YOU ABOUT IT (HE'S MAD) (for real he's sooo angry at you. pretend you don't see him going all gooey over a little fuzzy beast)
Actually that makes it so sad he never has a pet as a Count/Sith. A real testament to how fucked up he is at that point. He doesn't even have an evil raven-type thing or a black space cat to pet sinisterly as he monologues </3

What do you think of the Tirra'Taka and how it symbolizes Dooku's fate? Do you invoke it often in your fics?
Ah, the Tirra’Taka! IMO, the cover of Dooku: Jedi Lost REALLY should have been an 80s Blind Guardian style metal album motif with a shirtless, shredded Dooku standing astride the Tirra’Taka, holding unconscious, beautiful Sifo-Dyas aloft, while flames and lightning and cracked groundquake holes consume the foreground. Lene Kostana is a breasty witch with flowing robes vibing in the background while the Truthseeker falls like a stylish comet from the sky.
God did not grant me the gift to draw, because this artwork would be Too Horny.
But yeah! Cavan Scott sure did give Dooku a psychic empathic connection with a lightning breathing Serennian dragon, abused and used by the Sith, who he loves and thinks is beautiful and ultimately destroys trying to help, and I’ll never be the same?!?
I mean, the metaphor is so on the nose. Dooku is the Tirra‘Taka.
I like it because I like Dooku having a weird connection to specifically Serennian history and magic. I like that the planet’s Sith baggage becomes uniquely personal to him, through his relationship with this animal that he doesn’t understand, and of course, his father’s total rejection of him for being Force sensitive. And I love that the most prolific user of Force lightning in the series has a seemingly natural, organic connection to a lightning beast. I imagine the Tirra’Taka whispering dragon lullabies into his Force-sensitive dreams when he’s floating around in the womb.
And let’s not forget that the last thing Dooku does with the Tirra‘Taka is mentally bond himself with her before ultimately losing control and having to kill her. What did that, ah, do to him?? You know, Sifo-Dyas, on seeing Dooku do this, collapses on the ground in hysterical sobbing laughter and is thought by Jenza to have shattered his mind. And he’s just LOOKING at Dooku do this. What happened to Dooku, who was mentally inside the dragon, during that scene?
As for my fics, I’ve kept it pretty subtle. I have played with the idea (mainly in Milk Run) that Dooku’s seeming extra talent for Force lightning is natural to him, a result of exposure to the Tirra’Taka in utero/infancy or being a Serennian Force sensitive. And that once he realizes this, he can use it for light side applications as well as dark - he can scramble electrical systems, or zap electro-cuffs off himself, or maybe he gets a little overpowered and feral during thunderstorms...
….actually I’m just realizing I missed the perfect opportunity to have him restart Sifo-Dyas’s stupid heart in Rabbit Heart that way, with lightning, instead of doing Space CPR. Damnit! :c
#I just think Dooku should be allowed to be very metal as a treat for everyone and the Tirra'Taka goes with this nicely#Sifo-Dyas losing his shit in that scene is hilarious because it implies he very much had a vision of Dooku busting out with a dragon#and he laughed softly to himself and thought nahh that's one future too crazy even for him I don't need to worry about THAT#dooku#tirra'taka#dooku: jedi lost#lene kostana#sifo dyas#THANK YOU GEODE! You always have such wonderful asks my dude!!

Offtopic Offseason #4 - Clone Wars Rewatch Thoughts: Part II.
So, the Clone Wars rewatch.
I'm about halfway through season five now and God the show got an amazing glow-up in the later seasons.
The timeskip in the middle of season three is a big one but I didn't realize that it was actually somewhat staggered - Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka get their redesigns in S3E10, but the Clone Troopers don't go to the Phase II armor until season four. We also don't really see many clones in the Mon Calamari episodes or on Naboo, so the Phase II armor doesn't really get focus until the Umbara arc.
From that point onwards season four is amazing. Season four is my favorite of the original run and overall, it's up there with season seven - and that's high praise considering the Siege of Mandalore arc in the series finale is some of my favorite Star Wars content period, not just in Clone Wars, but in general.
It's got Maul, it's got Mandalore, it's got Ahsoka, and it ties directly into Revenge of the Sith. What more could you want?
In fact, just before writing this I saw a clip on twitter of the moment Rex gets Order 66 and the RotS music kicks in and it's just...chef's kiss.
The animation is beautiful, the characters are fully fleshed out and realized at this point, and we get to experience the high drama of Revenge of the Sith from their perspective. It's wonderful.
Tying into Revenge of the Sith, there's also the main thing I wanted to talk about today: the Clone Wars saves Anakin's character.
Already from Attack of the Clones we see a dark, brooding Anakin that's chaffing against Obi-Wan's teachings, that can't control himself around Padme, and the darkness in him is obvious. Sure, the Jedi didn't know exactly what Anakin did to the Tusken Raiders, but we literally see Yoda and Mace Windu feeling the ripples in the Force and instantly knowing it was Anakin.
Then, after that, Anakin tries to derail the hunt for Dooku on Geonosis because of Padme, and Obi-Wan has to literally scream at him to keep him on mission. Obi-Wan literally yells "You'll be expelled from the Jedi Order!" but then we never see the Jedi follow up on this. Sure, Episode III implies that Obi-Wan knew about it and kept quiet, but we never really see a justification as to why.
Episode III tries to make up for this by showing some friendly banter between Obi-Wan and Anakin, particularly while they're rescuing the Chancellor, but it doesn't really land - especially not since we see Anakin get angry at the Council to their faces after the whole master thing. Not to mention his connections to Palpatine, him killing Dooku, and the fact that he's clearly troubled during his meditations with Yoda.
In short, the Anakin we see in the movies is clearly troubled, clearly going down a dark path, and nobody seems to give a shit about it. They just let this problem keep steamrolling until it's at the Jedi Temple committing Order 66.
Now, this is not a ridicule against Hayden Christensen, because he's doing what he's told to do. In fact, I'd say that Hayden Christensen plays Anakin's dark moments better than Matt Lanter does in Clone Wars.
What Matt Lanter does, however, is show Anakin's redeeming characteristics.
Clone Wars has the time to go out and show that Anakin has a charming side, a funny side, that he cares about his friends, and that he's an immense asset for the Republic war effort. We see enough moments between Anakin and Obi-Wan that it becomes clear why his master would give him the benefit of the doubt, and there are even a few reasons why Yoda and Mace Windu would give him a bit of a leash.
And, as many people have pointed out before, the whole drama with how Ahsoka left the Jedi Order just as she was about to become a Knight means that Anakin did fully train a Padawan. He did all the work to be considered a Master, but because of the Council's actions during the Sabotage arc, he's screwed out of the rank. This means it is an outrage, it is unfair.
Anakin's not being a petulant child, he's getting cheated out of a rank because the Council doesn't trust him.
There's also the fact that a lot of Anakin's dark moments in Clone Wars, particularly early on, are because he's trying to save his friends. He Force Chokes Poggle the Lesser to save Ahsoka from the brain worms, he strikes first and brands himself a cold-blooded killer because Tal Merrik is threatening to blow up the ship, and in the Mortis arc, Anakin turns to the Dark Side now in a misguided attempt to stop the greater evil of him becoming Darth Vader.
The show establishes early on with the Lair of Grievous episode that the war is driving the Jedi closer and closer to the Dark Side, and that includes Anakin. The war gives him convenient excuses for going for the dark option over and over again.
Then we get the Zygerrian slavers arc and the Obi-Wan undercover arc back to back.
We see Obi-Wan and Ahsoka get uncomfortable with Anakin's actions during the slavers arc, but he's given the benefit of the doubt because one: Obi-Wan knows his freudian excuse, and two: the slavers are objectively terrible.
Then just after Anakin gets dragged through that stressful situation, he's thrown into another one as the Council fakes Obi-Wan's death and sends him undercover, all without telling Anakin. When he does find out, Obi-Wan fails to address Anakin's real concerns. This sets up for Episode III perfectly because it erodes Anakin's trust in the Council, makes Obi-Wan part of that mistrust, and drives Anakin closer to Palpatine.
Palpatine, who is clearly taking an interest in Anakin's duel with Count Dooku.
Stuff like this gives Anakin a slower, more believable fall to the Dark Side.
Now consider the fact that the Clovis episodes of season six were originally meant to be early in season five before getting temporarily canned. This means that not long after Zygerria and the undercover plot, we'd get an arc focusing on Anakin's increasingly toxic and possessive side with Padme.
Hitting the dark notes one by one...and then the Sabotage arc serves to take Anakin's Padawan away.
He's losing his trust in Obi-Wan, he doesn't trust the Council at all after they were ready to blame the bombing on Ahsoka, and his relationship with Padme is taking an unhealthy turn - and on top of all that, Anakin just lost a positive influence in his life. Ahsoka isn't there to keep him responsible and to provide a check on his actions.
Anakin's alone, but Palpatine's there, whispering the Dark Side into his ears.
Then, as we go into the events of Episode III, a returning Ahsoka is sent to Mandalore to fight Maul along with Rex, while Obi-Wan is sent to Utapau to finish off Grievous. Once again, Anakin's positive influences are kept away while Anakin is stuck on Coruscant. The Council wants him to spy on Palpatine, he doesn't want to, and he immediately blows the scheme to Palpatine.
That's when Palpatine makes his move.
Anakin pushes away for a moment and goes to Mace, but Mace tells him to stay at the temple.
Anakin can't, he goes there, and he cuts Windu's arm off - the point of no return.
Clone Wars is there to recontextualize Anakin's actions, flesh them out a bit more, and make his fall to the Dark Side more believable. That's the biggest service it does to any character in the franchise, and it makes Star Wars as a whole stronger.
So yeah, the show is good.
I think I covered most of the stuff that happens later on in the show in this one, but I'm still watching so maybe I'll do a part three next week if something stands out. That being said, the Rolex 24 is this weekend and that means the offseason is coming to an end, so perhaps it's about time for this blog to get motorsport-y again. We'll have to see though.
All I can promise is that next week, I'll write about whatever's on my mind. If that's Clone Wars, then it's Clone Wars, if it's race cars, then it's race cars, if it's some other third thing, then it's some other third thing.
So...tune in next week to find out!

Bad Batch S3E9:
Beautiful opening shots and music
Guysss, Cross as updated his armor a bit….I miss the antenna pauldron 😭
Not Batcher chasing the moon-yos reminding me of Jurassic Park II's opening scene
Who the fuck landed in that cave.
VENTRESS!!
Okay, I should've realized it when the description said "mysterious stranger".
Damn, she knows exactly who they are.
AYYY. SHE WAS FENNEC'S CONTACT.
The way they phrased the dialogue to say "more capable of wielding the Force". Dave Filoni watching out to make sure that another Sabine situation makes sense.
"I need to know what I am." 😭
Ventress putting Omega through basic Jedi tests >>>>
THE MUSIC.
Damn, they figured out who she was fast.
….Is riding Batcher cheating?
Ventress fist fighting the Bad Batch isn't something I thought I needed, but this is actually kind of entertaining.
BAD BATCH THEME. Like, not the full theme, but maybe as close as we'll ever get to it, with the pitching changes to the score over the seasons.
Shitttt, the "I wasn't planning on killing you, but you're making it very tempting" quote was directed at the team.
"We were pawns in the same war. And we all lost. "The Empire is more dangerous than you could possibly fathom. I'm many things, but I am not your enemy." Honestly, I don't think she came here to do harm. They just pushed a little too hard- can't entirely blame them, though, with her record, but still.
"Okay, but if she's as bad as you say, then why didn't she kill you when she had the chance?" Glad to see she's thinking about this rationally.
Omega making decisions for TBB (and them going along with it) >>>>>
Wait. Using Batcher wasn't cheating? Must've been an improvisation test, then.
Okay, but seeing Ventress casually sitting on that boat, more curious about Omega than anything, is very satisfying for her journey after seeing how violent she had been at the start of TCW and how far she's come since Dooku.
Not Ventress turning to glare directly into the binocs 🤣
THIS SCENE IS BEAUTIFUL 😭
Ventress, you accidentally summoned something that wants to eat you, good job.
Oh, it has kraken tentacles!
The animation of Ventress's hair when it's wet is so fucking good.
Wait, I saw a Tumblr post about the Marauder getting blown up in the Teth episodes- I don't think that actually happened, because that's definitely it.
I half thought they were gonna leave Ventress there, I'm surprised Crosshair was the one to let her aboard.
Test 1: Patience/Mediation/Balance. Test 2: Improvisation. Test 3: Connecting with animals through the Force.
So, Omega does have a high M-count 👀
"You're not as safe as you think you are." Well, that's ominous as fuck.
That ship has an extra-long wing like the Twilight, neat.
Are we all in agreement that next week is the invasion of Pabu?

Hey baby 😘 for the Jedi ask game I am going to focus on the most popular misunderstood Jedi that deserve all the love (sorry for the bombardment dear 🤣):
Mace: 14, 33, 41, 42
Luminara: 31, 34, 35, 45
Barriss: 30, 32, 36, 47
Mace 💜
14-How does Mace like to meditate?
I feel like Mace LOVES to mediate with others even though he can meditate alone just fine. He also comes off as plant guy to me, so I feel Mace’s favorite spot is in the Temple gardens with his Padawan Depa and later Caleb, but Mace wouldn’t turn anyone away, he would even let Anakin mediate with him if the man gave him a chance. Given his position within the Order and his fighting style (being able to channel dark side energy without giving into it), Mace is under a lot of stress at times so being around others be it loved ones or others, puts his mind and spirit at ease and I find that to be a beautiful thing. Most Jedi see Mace as an open and caring man instead of the intimidating Master others may see.
33-If Mace was able to survive Order 66, how would he live?
Mace would most definitely get the hell away from Coruscant as soon as he can and as far as he can. With all that’s happened, Mace would know he cannot take on the rising Empire alone especially wounded so he would need to flee and recoup somewhere safe until he can get back on his feet. I don’t believe he would return to his homeworld for obvious reasons, Mace would want to charter to some backwater planet where he can lay low and avoid Imperial attention. I don’t believe Mace would be want to be an active Jedi for a while because trauma, but he like Obi-Wan would do what he can to survive until he makes peace with what’s happened. I can see this going one of two ways. Either Mace lives a comfortable life of solitude helping out when he can or he could became a part of the Path and aid other surviving Jedi and Force sensitives in time of need, passing on his wisdom, possibly reuniting with Kanan in the process.
41-Is Mace more of a droid person or a critter person?
Mace seems to be a guy that’s all about life and with that comes critters. He would definitely be the dad that lets Depa bring in all the stray Tooka cats, birds, etc. because he enjoy taking care of things and being around animals help him relax like his plants.
42-What’s something Mace will never forget?
Okay I’m going to give a happy answer to this and a sad answer to this. I’ll start with the sad one to get it out of the way; I don’t believe Mace will ever forget the fact that if he had followed through in killing Dooku, that things could have ended differently. Maybe the Clone Wars would not have started that day and so many Jedi would still be alive. If you’ve ever read the Legends book “Shatterpoint”, you’d know that Mace constantly beats himself up over his decision to spare Dooku due to personal feelings. As for the happy one, I believe Mace could never forget all the milestones of his little girl (Depa) growing up from Padawan, to Knighthood, to making her a member of the Council, and to meeting his grand Padawan Caleb.
Luminara 💚
31-A Jedi Luminara looks up to the most?
Obi-Wan Kenobi 💙 I think Luminara would be in awe of someone who has dealt with so much tragedy in his life yet still chooses the light. Despite losing his Master and witnessing his death, taking on a Padawan when he wasn’t ready, losing his old flame, etc. Obi-Wan stays true to his Jedi ways and I believe that would inspire Luminara to do the same since she will inevitably deal with tragedy later. We don’t know anything about Luminara’s past, but given we don’t know who her Master was for sure, it’s safe to say that Luminara may have already faced grief and suffering in her past and perhaps leaned on Obi-Wan during those times only for her to return the favor. I would also say that Anakin isn’t far from being number one to her either since Luminara does openly praise him and trust him despite teasing him on his recklessness. I think she respects Anakin’s unorthodox way of thinking when she herself can’t think of another solution.
34-Luminara’s favorite food.
SWEETS! Luminara will never turn down a pastry, candy, etc. because she has the biggest sweet tooth and always has. You will always catch her eating a chocolate croissant or something with her morning coffee and she will always have her dessert after dinner. Barriss picks up on the habit as well because those two women need just has much sugar as they do caffeine to get through the days 😅
35-Luminara’s drink of choice.
A chai tea latte, hot or iced depending on the weather. Given the amount of stress Luminara is constantly under, she needs her caffeine (like Barriss only I headcanon her to be a huge coffee drinker) but she’s a classy lady that turns to tea more than coffee plus she loves some spice in her drink. Not to mention she can’t get drunk often so better to stay safe. Barriss knows that after a long day of work, that her Master loves to decompress with her chai and her Padawan will happily fetch that drink for her at the local space Starbucks anytime.
45-How was Luminara brought to the temple to become a Jedi?
I like to believe another Mirialan woman, possibly Master Katri (who I also headcanon to be Luminara’s Jedi Master) discovered baby Luminara on their homeworld of Mirial by chance as if the Force pulled them together. I also love the idea of Luminara possibly hailing from a very affluent family (like Dooku) or perhaps even Mirialan royalty of some sort but they happily give her to Katri as being a Jedi is a huge honor in Mirialan culture.
Barriss 💙
30-Her most embarrassing moment.
During a mission with Ahsoka and their respective Masters, Barriss gets caught by both Luminara and Anakin kissing Ahsoka in a closet or something. Anakin starts to laugh whilst Luminara is all stoic (even though she is trying so hard not to laugh and rub it in Barriss’s that she knew along) and is like “sorry to interrupt Padawan, carry on.” causing Barriss to blush real hard and almost faint this Ahsoka has to calm her down and reassure her everything is alright 🤣
32-Her thoughts on flying.
I don’t believe Barriss would have much of an opinion on flying. She can do it but she’s not obsessed with it nor does she hate it. To Barriss, flying is just getting from point A to point B and that’s that. She most definitely wouldn’t be pulling stunts like Anakin or Ahsoka because as a healer safety comes first 👍🏻
36-Her guilty pleasure.
Reality holotv, Barriss needs something to remind her that her life while traumatic and chaotic isn’t nearly as bad as others.
47-Her best quote.
I can’t remember which Medstar book it was but Barriss was explaining Jedi philosophy to one of the doctors she was working with and this particular quote made me love her all the more 💙
“A Jedi’s strength doesn’t come from her lightsaber but rather the strength of her heart.”
This quote has me feeling all the feelings for multiple reasons. One, it perfectly captures what it means to be a Jedi. It’s not about power, it’s about inner strength. Two, again with Barriss’s role as a teenage war hero and medic, she really does have to dig deep to find her courage in order to help people in disastrous situations. It’s not easy, but she does it and I find that kind of bravery beautiful. Three this quote just speaks to me on a personal level as I’ve dealt with plenty of traumas and tragedies in my real life but somehow I find a way through even when I want to give up. Barriss is an inspiration and she must have gotten that wisdom from somewhere either from Luminara herself or someone else in her Jedi family 💙💚

Hello everyone! Happy Star Wars Day!
Welcome back to Krax Watches. Today we’re watching Tales of the Jedi
Episode 1 —
Ashoka’s mom is gorgeous
The baby noises are so precious oh my god stop
I don’t know why the accents threw me off a bit, but it makes sense that Ashoka might not have an accent since she was raised in the Jedi temple
This animation and imagery is beautiful
Baby Ahsoka is fully unphased by the blaster shot right by her head
Ahsoka’s mom being a hunter in their society is awesome
Pav Ti talking to baby Ahsoka like a little adult is wonderful
Pav Ti is my fucking hero. Roaring at the saber tooth tiger
Whatever those cat panda thing are, I want one
I did not except the saber toothed tiger to take baby Soka with it
How to Train Your Saber Toothed Tiger
I literally can not handle her teeny tiny little lekku and her chubby wubby cheeks and her big sparkly eyes
It’s giving Diego from Ice Age
8/10 great mini story
Episode 2 —
Dooku’s hair is… something
Starting off kinda creepy ghost town vibes huh
That was a dog. Like a regular ass dog
Yee old saloon
Young Qui Gon looks like the cave man from Ice Age… wtf
Ooh a moral quandary
Cone heads
Blue light saber Dooku, I thought for sure he’s be a green
It’s interesting to see how far back it goes, the opinion that Jedi serve the senate and not the people
Dooku fully yeeted Qui Gon, I was not expecting that
Based on Dooku’s dark brown robes, he’s in the beginning to turn to the dark side phase like Anakin
Damn I was really hoping Dooku had a last name… or a first name? Idk I wanted a full name
7/10 though provoking but I wanted a little more
Episode 3 —
It is so strange to think that Dooku and Mace had an actual friendship
Of course Mace Windu would be a stickler for the rules
I’m sure these Raxus guys are bad guys or something, but their uniforms are cool
I feel like these people definitely killed Master Katri, but like why?
Dooku is in his fuck around and find out era
Ah yes, the beloved purple light label
“I will have the truth” … and the thing from the last episode about irradiating people like the evil senator. Dooku is every bit as blunt and rash as Anakin but like way more graceful about it
Uuugh how things could have been different if Mace was more open minded about the corruption taking root in the Jedi Order
Fun to see some of our favorite Jedi again… too bad it’s at a funeral
I don’t doubt that Mace did not know he was up for Master Katri’s council seat… but also he could have had an idea that he was in consideration
8/10 I love a good murder mystery with question authority undertones
Episode 4 —
How the FUCK would you find anything in that archive
Ooooooh Master Sifo Dias … Kamino???? Deleted?
Jocasta!!!
Yaddle!!!!
LIAM NEESON
Dooku’s been warning them about coming darkness… irony is so painful
Ahhhhhh Dooku hasn’t even met his grand-padawan yet
“You’re always singing his praises”
“They grow up so fast”
Qui Gon’s like… hey I’m concerned about this. Council is like… sounds fake but okay. We’ll do “something” about it…. Corporate mentality. SMH
Oh my god… Why did I not realize when he said Sith Lord on Tatooine that this was happening right after episode one
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH no no no no no
Dooku wanted to turn Qui Gon to the dark side
Is…. Dooku going to fight Yaddle….
Fuck this is such an ugly situation
Can you imagine if Yaddle had used The Force to yank Palpatine’s hood off and exposed him early like this
AAAAAHHHHH Yaddle is so wise. She is stepped down from the council
Oh my fucking god…….. she got smooshed!
Oh just kidding! Fuck ‘em up Yaddle!
Fuck that just hurts my heart so much
10/10 made me understand a lot about Dooku and broke my heart
Episode 5 —
All of Ahsoka’s dads in the same waiting room
Oh mullet Obi Wan, how I’ve missed you
Love this outfit, the white leggings are everything
CALEB!!!!! Dippa!!!!
I feel like Jedi are supposed to have a somewhat parental relationship with their Padawan, and Anakin goes straight to antagonistic older brother
REX! MY BOY!
How did this conversation go? Hey Rex, you and the guys wanna fire some blasters at Ahsoka for no reason? ugh… sure I guess
Fuckin Jesse “Sorry Commader!”
Honestly I feel like Anakin is just taking out some weird emotions or aggression out on Ahsoka
Okay sure you want to protect her by teaching her to protect herself, but there are almost certainly better ways to do that… like giving critique to what she’s doing or modifying the challenge with each round
Damn Rex, face shot
I swear to god if they make me watch Order 66 again
7/10 was a good episode, kind of irritated me because Anakin’s teaching style rubs me the wrong way
Episode 6 —
Not the cold open with Padme’s funeral….
NO Ahsoka was there
Sometimes I forget that Ahsoka didn’t have that many female figures in her life….
“She was my friend”
AAHHHHH the Corrie guard….. but now the Empire is in control…. This is like Bad Batch era
The Corries are like….. uh okay?
REX!!!
I love that Ahsoka did a stint as a farm hand after dropping out of Jedi school
Ooooh she used The Force…. are they gonna nark on her??
Ashla…. That’s such a pretty name
Do I smell….. a love interest???
This is… not going to go well
Ooooooh that fucking brother is a squealer
Oh my god… man fuck the Empire
Who the fuck is this?
Cowboy stand off, love it
I forgot she doesn’t have sabers anymore
Fuck that was cool!
OMG this is how she gets her white sabers!
I wonder how much time has passed?
Woooooo! REBELLION!!!
10/10 it always hurts, but like in the right way to be reminded that the Empire fucking sucks and there is always hope.
Since this was pretty short, I’m gonna watch more stuff. Might not do a reaction post though.
Happy Star Wars Day!
May the Force be with you!

Holy kriff what actually is this quality dumblr? grr.
I did the artsy a while back, but I’m pleased to announce that I still can’t draw consistent characters 😌 whaaaat? Psh, I mean—this is an aquarium AU, so obviously they can’t be clones irl come on 👀 that’s why they don’t look like each other.
Also, I wrote a lil blurb for the concept so enjoy :3
~
“So,” Padmé said shortly, keeping both eyes firmly fixed on the clipboard in her hands. “What do we know already?”
It was easier to stare at the infuriatingly thin packet of papers on the board than to raise her gaze just a little tiny bit and look into the pool she and Rex were standing over. For one, nothing in the pool moved much. The water only barely dipped and splashed on the very minute occasion from whatever sluggish filter had been placed inside. The water otherwise was clear and plain, and—honestly—a little boring.
It was another generic holding tank they kept at the aquarium: nothing Padmé hadn’t dealt with dozens of times before. They used the large, platformed containers to rehabilitate all kinds of sick and injured marine life, ranging from dolphins, to turtles, to stingrays, and even a few arthropods, though Padmé was decidedly less involved in some of those projects. The only nuance in this situation was the species—creature, really—currently within the tank.
To put things simply, it wasn’t something they already knew much about. And it was easier to stare at her papers than to risk looking at it.
“Nothing, really.” Rex sighed. He ran a hand over his clipped curls and gave the stack of papers a pitying look. “It’s been hard to run any tests since the three of them came in. Normal tranqs don’t seem to work as well, and anyone who’s tried to get close so far has been… compromised.”
Padmé’s thoughts strayed to Sabé’s broken arm, and the thing that had caused such a gruesome injury; how it was coiled at the bottom of the tank in front of her and—
She reigned her attention into focus.
“So this—all of this is it?” To distract herself, she flipped through all five papers with incredulous surprise. There was maybe one whole page of lab results, a few more of random notes, and a sad scattering of anatomical data. It was some pathetic compilation. Especially considering their aquarium’s research reputation. And the significance of this… species. “There’s no file? No report? This is all the information we have?”
“I’m afraid so.” Rex dropped his hands behind his back. “The director wants to commission individual research assignments for each subject. Or at least, that’s what I’ve heard. You might just be the first, so don’t get too discouraged.”
Padmé wasn’t daunted by the task of personally studying the animal in the tank before her. She was more concerned about safety parameters. The last time she’d gotten close, it’d tried to drown her (almost had, actually), and it’d taken Dooku ripping one of its fins off to subdue the thing.
She wouldn’t ask why Sheev thought she of all people was best suited to personally researching this animal. Nevertheless, she had without a doubt been assigned the project, and Padmé had never underperformed in a task. Anyway, it was… a good opportunity. She should be thrilled—honored, even. Plenty of others would certainly die to have this chance.
After her first encounter with what she’d originally thought to be a beautiful, majestic creature, however, she was a little hesitant to be working so closely with it. It was dangerous. Worse than that, it was intelligent. It was the smartest thing Padmé had ever handled here at the aquarium, and she’d barely spent ten minutes in its presence.
“Alright,” Padmé’s huff sounded more frustrated than she’d intended. She tried to ignore the amused twitch to Rex’s lips and slapped the papers down against the clipboard. “I can work with this.”
He nodded.
“I suspect it won’t be an orthodox schedule, however. I may need access to the holding tank at odd hours.”
Rex chuckled and put a hand on her shoulder, camaraderie and sympathy in one go. They weren’t the closest of friends, but they were both dedicated to their work, and he understood her undeterrable drive which—in some cases—was slightly less than healthy. If her most recent disaster was anything of note.
“I know. And Palpatine knows too, don’t worry. You’re getting a lot of free reign over this assignment.”
It was good news; not that it reassured her about much. This was going to be difficult, conditioning such an intelligent creature to recognize her as its handler. It might take weeks, and Padmé was a stubborn person, but she wasn’t the most patient.
“Good. I’m going to need it.” Padmé looked up from the clipboard and met his eyes to communicate the authenticity of her thanks. She refused to look inside the pool. Only Rex.
“I appreciate your help.”
He smiled, nodded, then turned and went for the stairs that led down the side of the tank. “Good luck!” He tossed over his shoulder, leaving her alone with the merman.

I just finished watching Tales of the Jedi for the 2nd time and I’d like to share my thoughts.
Spoilers for TotJ!!!
The series overall—Animation was ok (I mentioned how Rex/the clone model still looked off here) but overall it was good (especially the environments). THE MUSIC WAS 💯💕 BEAUTIFUL. There were a few things that was kinda like 🤔 but it’s nothing too major and I had some thoughts on what I, personally, would’ve liked to see.
Ep1–Life and Death
—Thought it was good. Baby Ahsoka’s design is similar to the one shown briefly in CW 👍
—The panda dog things were adorable and the food they eat looks SO SIMILAR to Mantell Mix
—The village elder does 3 hand poses (and says something in their native language) when Ahsoka’s mom made a kill, which reminded me of Rebels and the 3 hand poses that opens the portal thing
—Giant cat looked very tiger-y and immediately thought of Jungle Book, though the stories are very different.
Ep2–Justice
—Loved Young Dooku/Quigon duo. Like their designs/interactions, everything, was really good imo
—Dooku wears a cape and not a jedi robe
—Quigon didn’t have his padawan braid but I guess that was time between Padawan/Knight.
—Liked the fact that the senator’s son wasn’t upset about being kidnapped. Loved 2 Ton’s design (the droid)
—clearly sets up Dooku’s fall to the dark side.
Ep3–Choices
—The Mace/Dooku duo was something I’ve wanted since seeing them in Attack of the Clones.
—Mace’s design is also changed slightly (like Anakin/Ahsoka/Obi) to keep up with the better technology. How old is Mace? I honestly don’t know and actually expected him to look a bit younger. Like I know he trained Depa Bilaba (Caleb/Kanan’s master) but, to me, he seemed to be the same age as he was in CW.
—Loved that AotC was more of a noir/detective movie and seemed to continue into this episode (Windu/Dooku solving a jedi murder case).
—I think the guard guy that Mace killed was the son of the guy with the different colored eyes. Which means Mace killed someone’s son and left a father without a child and he also killed Boba’s father Jango, leaving Boba without a father. That’s just my opinion/HC and wasn’t confirmed or anything.
—MACE DID NOT STEAL THE COUNCIL SEAT FROM DOOKU! From context, Dooku has no problem doing things his way and explaining it to the Council. That means this has happened more than the one time we saw in context of this episode. I believe Dooku never really had a chance at a seat on the Council. He believed he did. I think his own ego/shortsightedness blinded Dooku into believing he was guaranteed a spot on the Council
—By now it’s clear that Anakin and Dooku have a lot in common (think RotS when Anakin got upset that he wasn’t a ‘master’ but on the Council)
Ep4–The Sith Lord
—This was my favorite episode!
—MASTER YADDLE!!! FINALLY!!! I believe we first see her in The Phantom Menace when Anakin is brought to the Temple on Coruscant and the jedi are testing him. She appears briefly in the background and has no speaking lines if I remember correctly. I know Yaddle has a different story in Star Wars Legends (the Extended Universe—books/video games etc) but I actually really enjoyed seeing her.
—Her relationship with Dooku seemed really important. Dooku was Yoda’s padawan and my own HC is that Yaddle and Yoda are Grogu’s (Baby Yoda) parents. I believe Yoda/Dooku/Yaddle were kind of like Anakin/Ahsoka/Obiwan respectively. Ahsoka is Anakin’s padawan but also had Obi-wan as a friend/mentor just like Dooku is Yoda’s padawan, but also seemed to be friends with Yaddle.
—Also I believe this was the only episode that is set during one of the movies (Phantom Menace). Dooku talks with Quigon about the Sith Lord (Darth Maul) that he and Obiwan encountered on Tatooine before it changes to Yaddle informing Dooku about Quigon’s funeral (after being killed by Maul on Naboo). She is clearly concerned about Dooku, especially when he says he must let Quigon go as he’s one with the Force. She asks him if he ‘can do this’, to which he responds with ‘what choice have I?’
—Dooku’s always been shown to have great control over his emotions (which is why he doesn’t have sith eyes) but despite that, Yaddle’s concern wins out and she follows him to his meeting with Emperor Palpatine.
—DOOKU LOVED QUIGON JUST LIKE OBI LOVED ANAKIN! His convo with Yaddle earlier (about the tree) clearly showed that. And he was RIGHTLY upset that Palpy had him killed by Maul.
—SHE LEFT THE COUNCIL FOR DOOKU!!! SHE EVEN ADMITTED HE WAS RIGHT!! That is love right there. She clearly had a loving friendship relationship with Dooku for her to leave the Council. And what does Obi-wan tell Satine? ‘Had you said the word, I would’ve left the Jedi Order’. Yaddle probably didn’t think of Dooku in a romantic way (I hope), but she obviously cared about him just as he cared for Quigon.
—YADDLE BEGGED DOOKU TO HELP HER BRING PALPY TO JUSTICE.
—THAT WHOLE FIGHT, JESUS!
—Ok, whoever is in charge of ratings sucks cuz there’s no way that this episode was TV-PG. Yaddle’s death was BRUTAL! Like they didn’t really show the blade connecting, but they showed her lifeless body after, made the saber-on-flesh-sound, and showed Dooku beginning the execution move. JESUS Disney. Shit
Ep5–Practice Makes Perfect
—Seeing young Anakin and mullet-Obiwan in clone armor made me SO HAPPY!!!
—The sass is still there!! AAHHH!!!
—Plo Koon sitting with Yoda, Obiwan and Anakin watching Ahsoka proudly was such a dad-move!!!
—And seeing young Caleb/Kanan and Bilaba at Ahsoka’s training test was amazing! And he was so obviously gushing about Ahsoka to Bilaba when they walked out lol
—MASTER SINUBE!!! GRAMPS!!! Was this before or after that Lightsaber Lost ep?!?!
—Of course Anakin was unimpressed with the test and unintentionally taught her how to survive O66.
—Seeing the clones in phase 1 armor again made me flash back to early CW animation.
—ABSOLUTELY LOVED JESSE’S LITTLE ‘Sorry Commander!’ As it was funny in the moment and tragic when you think about the fact that Jesse lead the turned clones during O66 and was going to kill Ahsoka (and possibly Rex too).
—I think this episode is the only one with a time skip. Loved the transition of the stuns and Ahsoka waking up older and seeing the clones in their phase 2 armor.
—THEY MADE ANAKIN’S TRAINING INTO A GAME!!!
—Then skipped again to O66 with Ahsoka and Rex walking into the hangar full of clones ready to kill them (with Jesse out front).
—Gave me Arcane ep7 Ekko/Jinx vibes TO THE MAX!! (Though if I’m being honest, I preferred Arcane’s version though it’s so close lol).
Ep6–Resolve
—Ok so I think out of all of them, this one’s the worst.
—Don’t get me wrong, it was ok, but out of every ep, I didn’t really care for it.
—My fav part/scene was Padme’s funeral and Bail’s convo with her.
—Ahsoka is living in hiding in a small farming village that has Empire presence I guess.
—Ahsoka has to use the Force to save one of the workers, who realizes Ahsoka is a jedi. Her brother rats Ahsoka out and an Inquisitor comes. From what I’ve heard online, it’s the 6th Brother?? Idk so please correct me if I’m wrong (I believe we’ve seen the 3rd Sister-Reva, 5th Brother, 7th Sister, and the 8th Brother briefly)
—So I’ve never gotten into SW Legends (the Extended Universe), but apparently from what I’ve seen online, this episode is supposed to be an animated version of a book called Ahsoka. It’s basically telling the same story 2 different ways.
—That’s pretty lazy 🤔 to me. Like there are so many other story options (even within just Ahsoka) so it still could’ve worked out 3 v 3 (3 Ahsoka/3 Dooku) eps. I’ve never read the book but I believe it’s about Ahsoka’s time after O66 and how she gets her white lightsabers.
—I heard that the female worker Ahsoka saves is actually black/dark-skinned in the book which is blatant whitewashing (I think I also read that the character was also established as queer). She was replaced by a female with fair skin, straight brown hair and light hazel-y brown eyes. SERIOUSLY?! THE WHITEWASHING HAS TO STOP!!! POC MATTER (in the US, it’s Nov so it’s Native American Heritage month! And Nov 1st was dia de los muertos/day of the dead).
—The Inquisitor’s design looked cool af
—The fight was ok. Reminded me a little of Maul v Obiwan but b/c there was no obvious history it wasn’t very impactful. Liked how he faded away though. And from what I read, he’s voiced by Clancy Brown??? Really!? I love Clancy Brown!! Also it seemed like the Inquisitor knew Ahsoka (he knew her name), though Ahsoka made no connection to him.
I guess those are my main thoughts on the series as a whole and on each episode as well.
What I’d change:
—ep 6 entirely. I’d actually would’ve loved to see how Ahsoka got her second lightsaber instead of the Inquisitor.
—the whitewashed clone model obviously
—So I loved ep4 and Dooku vs Yaddle, BUT! How cool would it have been if Dooku’s saber slowly changed to purple as the fight went on before turning red as he struck down the Jedi Master?? I’m sure that would absolutely go against how lightsabers turn red, having to do with emotions/feelings and that Dooku is great at controlling his own emotions. I just think that would’ve been cool. Though I’m sure that goes against how he actually got them (assuming it’s explained in Legends or something).
—I loved ep1 and baby ‘Soka. But I also love Plo Koon. Would’ve died to see him discover her and talk with her parents/the village elder.
What I’d like to see going forward, assuming there will be a s2 (w/ 6eps):
—MORE CLONE CONTENT!! Gimme a story about Boil going back to Ryloth with Waxer’s armor (post Umbara) and telling Numa what happened to their ‘nera’. Gimme cadet cody/rex bonding! Gimme 99’s creation and demotion to maintenance!! Would also give Disney yet another chance to change the clone model (though if we do get more clone content I highly doubt they would). Gimme Jango/Boba bonding (bonus points for Omega’s creation) I’d like to know SPECIFICALLY what Jango told Boba to make him hate clones. Gimme Wolffe’s demotion from Marshall Commander cuz he lost the whole 104th on the Malevolence. Gimme more clone domestic-life with the boys painting their armor/being w/ their Jedi generals. Just GIMME MORE CLONE BOYS!!! UNWHITEWASHED!!!!
—You can’t tell me that Tales of the Clones wouldn’t be badass lol
—I’d love to see General Grievous’s backstory. From what I’ve seen online, he’s some sort of warrior-hero/savior to his people but the Empire (I think) turned him into what we know as ‘Grievous’. Also that’s not even his name (I forget what it really is, but b/c Grievous sounds like ‘grieve’ I have a bad feeling that it has to do with his people or something).
—Young Yoda and his master. Yoda talks the way he does b/c of his master, which is why Yaddle doesn’t speak the same way (which makes me feel like Baby Yoda/Grogu will sound just like Mando lol).
—Black Krrsantan (Santo-the black wookie form BoBF) or Chewie’s backstory. I know we get a bit of Chewie from Solo: A Star Wars Story and would honestly prefer more Santo content (I think he fights Obiwan in a comic or something) but idk how likely that would be.
—Samuel L. Jackson has stated that he wants to return to Mace Windu/SW and was quoted saying of Mace’s demise- ‘in Star Wars, people survive getting their hands chopped off all the time. So it’s possible,” (or something like that—point is, he thinks Mace could’ve survived his fall/chopped limb). Would love to see Mace post O66 if he in fact, lives.
—Grogu teaching younglings the Jedi and Mandalorian ways, diving into his backstory pre-Mando. I HC that he’s Yaddle and Yoda’s son. It would also give SW a chance to tell a story post—the Skywalker saga timeline (Phantom Menace all the way through to the Rise of Skywalker), since Grogu can out-live the characters in the sequel trilogy.
—I’d like to see High Republic era stuff. I know little to nothing about that era but from fanart I’ve seen, it looks dope af (I know the new animated show Young Jedi Adventures is supposed to be set during that era, but it’s aimed for preschoolers so obviously I’d like something more adult set in that era—but I’m still going to check it out when it releases! Lol)
—I played the SW computer game The Old Republic so I’d also love anything set during that era as well (Master Satele Shan, Master Orgus Din, etc)
So I think that’s most of my thoughts on Tales of the Jedi. I definitely like it more than Bad Batch but not sure if it’s better than CW (to me they are equal). Thanks to all that have made it through this post. I promise I’ll be back with a fic real soon. Thanks everyone!

Finally got around to watching some Tales of the Jedi and I have some thoughts ...
Life and Death
First of all, can I say how great the animations look? All the nature scenes in that first episode … I liked that we got to see so many different and beautiful plant and animal species. Makes me just wish I could travel there to go hiking and study all the weird plant life. This scene ...
... absolutely gorgeous! Kudos to the animation team!
The village scenes were great, too. I’m very curious to learn more about the culture of the Togruta and their language and traditions. Although I’m not really sure if it’s wise to take a toddler on a hunt if there’s the Star Wars version of a saber-toothed tiger roaming the forest. Especially since Pav-ti was also traveling alone, unaccompanied. But I assume that the area is generally considered safe and animal attacks are rare. She also set Ahsoka down on the ground in the clearing and talked to her out loud, so she probably felt relatively safe.
As soon as the predator appeared, I started thinking about how Ahsoka’s abilities in the Force will show up, since that was obviously what the scene was going for. I liked that it wasn’t anything flashy, she didn’t Force-push the predator, she didn’t levitate her mother or the gun ... instead we got a bit of dramatic retardation when she was dragged deeper into the forest and then a calm, gentle scene where she connected with the beast. To me, that works so well because that’s what the Force really is, in its essence. Connection, peace, understanding—not something to be used for aggression or grand special effects. And to see an innocent baby like Ahsoka use it without showing the slightest fear of the predator … just with curiosity, trust and kindness … It was a really beautiful moment.
And then the ending … “Ahsoka is Jedi”—very gripping. Theatrical, yes (also considering what will become of Ahsoka in the future), but in a good sense.
Also, I really loved all the different designs of the Togruta! On an aesthetic level, I always thought they were one of the most beautiful species in Star Wars.
Justice
I’m a little on the fence about this episode. I actually watched it twice because it felt a bit unsatisfying at first and I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Dooku and Qui-Gon are two of my favorite characters and I was really looking forward to learning more about their relationship, but they both acted so strangely reserved that it was hard for me to figure out what they were thinking. For example, the first time I watched the episode I thought they acted surprisingly distant toward each other, the second time I watched it I got the impression that they had a close relationship and worked very well together. You could really end up with different interpretations of their characters depending on how you choose to understand looks, body language, what was said and what was wasn’t. I was puzzled by Qui-Gon’s almost lack of reaction when Dooku threw him around and attacked the senator with murderous intent. Their brief exchange at the end felt warm, but again, it was so brief that I wondered: don’t you want to maybe talk about what happened? Or am I supposed to infer that at this point in the timeline, what happened is a repetitive thing, injustice and corrupt senators and Dooku losing his cool and trying to Force-choke people, and that they’re both kind of frustrated and resigned and already know and understand each other’s point of view, so there's not much to talk about? Not that it wouldn’t fit their characters as I see them. Personally, I think they’re two of the most stoic and introverted Jedi—introverted in the sense that they internalize their thoughts and emotions for the most part, so they naturally don’t talk about or show them much, and they don’t feel the need to do so. Unlike, say, Anakin and, to some extent, Obi-Wan (who really should have had someone to invite him in for tea and a long, quiet talk). But I digress. I don’t know, I think I would have liked to know a little more about Dooku’s and (especially) Qui-Gon’s thoughts on the whole situation and how it reflects the politics of the Council and the Senate, aside from the obvious things we already know. Like this, the conflict, reactions and resolution all felt a bit set up and on the nose, but that may also be due to the episode’s short runtime. And I guess the series first needed to introduce Jedi!Dooku's character for people who only watch the movies/shows and don't know anything about his past?
Things I liked:
- the slow built-up of tension in the beginning! Maybe it’s because of the Halloween season, but it felt almost creepy, like the beginning of a horror story. Would be really nice to see Star Wars experiment some more with different genres.
- the detail with the woman who betrayed the kidnappers’ location for some food. She looked so ashamed with her own actions it hurt. And how quick the other villagers were to explain and sympathize ... So much compassion was probably unrealistic given the fact that several villagers were seriously injured by the Senator’s actions and the whole ordeal could have ended in a bloodbath, but it didn't bother me. The episode was dark enough.
Other stuff:
I disapprove of Dooku’s and Qui-Gon’s fashion choices. Qui-Gon, where is your cloak? You look like a youngling in that tunic. And while I love Sith!Dooku’s cape, for Jedi!Dooku I will always headcanon him with a regular Jedi cloak. I don’t care, I just love the cloaks. Everyone should be snuggled up in cloaks all the time. Except for when they do the Dramatic Cloak Drop, of course.
Choices
There were so many things I loved about this episode! Dooku and Mace as a team! Raxus Secundus! All that ambiguous politics that I always wished they had done more with in the prequels! The little bit of murder mystery feeling we got with Master Katri’s death! And her funeral at the end; we know nothing about her, but it still felt heart-breaking seeing all the Jedi coming together and lowering her casket into the ground.
I liked that the episode portrayed Dooku’s character in a more sympathetic light. His view and concerns were definitely understandable. His character has so much potential and it’s great that we finally get to see some of it on screen. It’s interesting that he asked Mace if his behavior was partly motivated by the fact that he wanted the seat in the Council—I would never believe that of Mace, but Jedi are only human sentient beings and we always act out of self-interest, sometimes unconsciously, even if we do our best. And of course it makes sense for this series, which tries to give us Dooku’s perspective, to show us an incident when Dooku makes some really good points and when, in contrast, Mace’s approach with his strict adherence to the rules was rather detrimental to the situation.
And despite the differences and tension between Dooku and Mace, I thought they had great chemistry and I would so love to see more of them going on missions together. All the silent looks they shared! They would actually make an awesome good cop bad cop team! And I also feel like they could have a similar dark sense of humor. That’s also the one thing I would have done differently: it would have been nice to see them interacting in a bit more casual and friendly way at the beginning. It’s enough that Mace had a strained relationship with one Sith Lord. He can be Dooku’s counterpart in the episode and have an opposing opinion without repeating the role he already took towards Anakin. And a little more levity would also serve Jedi!Dooku well, because if you only see him smiling and joking after he has fallen—that would be really tragic. Don’t get me wrong, I like the rather dark and serious tone of the series and of course Dooku and Mace are especially dark and serious people, it just would have been nice to see a lighter side of their friendship. That would also make Dooku’s betrayal hurt so much more.
They both were awesome in the fight scene! I love how pretty the forest looks with all these pink flowers … and Mace fits right in with his pink lightsaber … and Dooku is just casually blocking shots behind his back … easily my favorite part of the episode! Next to Ki-Adi Mundi’s enormous head in a hood.
Would love to talk about episode 4, too, but I’m still at the point where I’m screaming and making unintelligible sounds, because there were so many good scenes! Dooku and Jocasta! Dooku and Qui-Gon! The tree! And of course Yaddle! The imagery when she lifted the door to let the light in! And that “I’m afraid” quote!
I just have so many feelings about everyone. Why must you do this, Star Wars?

“TALES OF THE JEDI” LEFT ME FEELING A BIT...MEH...
youtube
...Which actually makes me quite sad. I’ve been looking forward to this show since I saw a preview of it at Celebration. We were shown the first episode, which brought me to tears. It looked like it was going to be one of the most beautiful pieces of Star Wars in years. But after watching all six episodes, I was left feeling rather underwhelmed. Perhaps I’m just not a big enough Dooku or Ahsoka fan. The show is GORGEOUS to be sure. The animation is better than ever. But the stories just didn’t land with me. I did quite like The Sith Lord episode. It was fascinating to see Dooku mourning Qui-Gon.
I am not putting this out into the world to be critical or negative. I am very happy that people loved it and are receiving it well. I think that’s one of the beautiful things about the growing Star Wars universe: we can all find something to like but we don’t have to like everything.
What did you think of “Tales of the Jedi?”

Hi, for the fandom asks: 1 and 16 xx
1) list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s)
1- Saying "the people" is a vast understatement. My current community fills me with so much happiness - what kind, funny, incredibly clever people you all are! And if I go back in time, I sometimes feel like the people in the SW fandom half raised me at a time when I was a lonely, unhappy child stuck in a fucking terrible IRL community, and I'll always be grateful for that.
For example - I still remember in grade school, sneaking off during gym class to buy international phone cards at the gas station so I could call my Australian bestie (who I met when she EMAILED ME A FIC COMMENT because that was how we did it on some fic sites back then). I'd get up at 3 am (3pm her time, when she got out of school) and we'd talk on the phone about our crazy crack self-inserts and our love of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, respectively. DOOKU DIDN'T EVEN EXIST AT THIS POINT. We grew up, but she's still in my life - the suncatchers her mom made me are still hanging on my back window. She even came to visit me a few years back. She's a successful YA fiction writer and activist now. Sometimes I'm so proud of her that it makes me want to cry.
2- ahem, okay, I got kind of emotional on 1… this is controversial, and I'm sure I'll live to eat my words when they make rochenn's cursed stitched-back-together Dooku and somehow-survived Mace Windu live action buddy cop drama, but I actually like that Star Wars is continuing to get content. Okay, some of it is dogshit, and I wish there was some… changes at the top… looking at you, cowboy hat man… but overall, I feel lucky. Those Yoda comics were good and a couple of them were written by an actual guy who actually likes the character I love and cares about continuity? The last five years have had some really fascinating Star Wars content. Barriss is a healer again. Rael Averross is part of the family. We're about to get live action Acolyte. I don't know, I'm excited.
3- Ant said this a little bit in her reply to my ask, but I have to agree, I love how BIG Star Wars is. With my little pre-prequel Dooku fics, I'm writing in such a tiny corner of it, but the vastness around me is just wonderful and actually, very welcoming. It feels like there's always something new and interesting to read or see.
16) a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
It blows my mind that Cavan Scott made Dooku an animal guy.
The scene where he's simultaneously flying a (stolen, iirc) speeder and mindmelded with his fucking pet bird and Qui-Gon is like "MASTER, beast control combined with weaving in and out of Coruscant traffic, ARE YOU FUCKING GOOD TO DRIVE RIGHT NOW?" and Dooku just replies ":D It's ✨ animal kinship ✨not 'beast control' Qui-Gon!' Unhinged. Beautiful.
I just love it when canon does something fresh and surprising with Dooku instead of recycling the "stuffy stuck up rich guy" tropes, especially in his Jedi era, when he's a fucking penniless chaos monk raised by a goblin. Fanon loves to make Qui-Gon the guy sneaking weird animals into the Temple (and I love that) but you know Dooku would have smuggled that Tirra'taka home with him if he could have fit it in his bed. Dooku is the REASON Qui-Gon is like that!

Can someone please point me to where the fandom starwars discords are?
Went to the star wars shows one and everyone was done nothing but complaining about how crap Takes of the Jedi were... Srsly. Wtf... Are you ppl watching the same thing?!?
They were shorts! And they were awesome!
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ALL EPS OF TALES OF THE JEDI
Ep 1.
O.m.g BB! Ahsoka's little nubby head!!!! So darn cute! Mama! Ahsoka is a hottie! Had hoped we'd see Master Ploon pick her up but still cool. Also I love the animal interaction. So its nots just an Obi-Wan thing its a jedi thing?
Ep 2.
BB! Qui-Gon!!! Where's his padawan braid?? How is he the oldest looking young man? And seriously this whole situation? I too would be team Dooku. Justice. Also... Just me or are Team Dooku not very good at blocking? Everyones hurt or dead... Obi could've saved them all..
Ep 3.
Jedi really suck at investigating. No srsly. See the whole Ahsoka arc. Mace suffers from this by the book thing too. I'm Team Dooku here too. Also nice to see that relations aren't bad for Yoda linage! He's quite proud of Qui. And wants to meet Obi!!! So all those hints in prequel movies... Disaster lineage couldve been...
Ngl it recently occured to me that Grogu is now technically part of disaster lineage and that is a funny awesome thought.
Ep 4.
Again with the shit at investigating. Yaddle you see that shit you run! You also had a massive window right there to freedom and you... Dont escape? Don't fall the other way?! Like come on!! Thats so dumb. But Dooku being upset at his apprentice being killed... Yep, disaster linage family feels. To canonise the deletion of Kamino is cool as ok. Really bad record keeping practices if you think about it. But otherwise cool to see. Despite how sith Dooku is he never gets with the yellow eyes tho y'all notice? I mean his purpose is.. noble.ish.
I get it. Have realised I too would probably be a horrible jedi because Team Dooku all the way. Kill all the corrupt senators. I mean aside from the waging pointless war on innocent planets and enslaving 3mill clones.. but eat the rich? Yes. Agree.
Ep 5.
Obi-wan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aniobi snarky banter heart5eva. Rex!!!!!!!!! All the clones! Caleb Dume! Kanon Jarrus! BB!padawan!!! Look how excitable and impressed he was! Thats so cuteeee. Anakin's training is next level and goes to show.... how bamf ahsoka actually is. I love you so much.
Ep 6.
Bail!!!! Most underrated mvp. Haha suck it inquisitor guy. They're all really shit compared to actual jedi... Stupid brother. He deserves to die to. Whats that saying? You snitch get hit or something? Very much applies here. The rise of fulcrum huh.
Ahhhhhhh it was so good!!! The ost was beautiful, the art was beautiful! It added to character backstory. Perfect gift for me in the midst of finally succumbing to the damn plague.
Anyone out there wanna squee too????

Snapshots 5/5
The final part of the Grievous stuff that I wrote some years ago. I hope you’ve all enjoyed my descent into madness. Lmao.
.
.
.
Kyra looked up from the datapad she was studying as a loud crash echoed through the Citadel, brow furrowing as she rose out of the chair she was sitting in. Her right hand scooped up the blaster that was on a nearby table before she strode out of the quarters she shared with Grievous and into the maze-like hallways of the cyborg's lair.
That the droids that guarded the Citadel weren't on high alert was a good sign - it meant that there wasn't an intruder. Which, unfortunately, meant that the source of the sounds was something all too common.
Worried for a completely different reason now, she sprinted to the control room, the heart of the Citadel's massive security system, as well as where the high-tech medical centre was situated. She passed a beheaded commando droid, and then a dazed medical droid, ignoring the warning warbles from two Magna droids as she skidded to a stop in front of the control room's door and started to put in the code that would allow her entry.
But the door whooshed open before she got halfway through the code, and she had half a second to blink in surprise before two arms wrapped around her and yanked her beyond the security door and into a powerful embrace.
Kyra automatically slid her own arms around Grievous' form as he buried his masked face in her hair. A massive shudder went through him, his arms tightening around her possessively when she tried to lean back to look at him. She gave in without protest, nuzzling her face against his armored chest as she gingerly extended her Force senses, frowning when she felt the turmoil and anger that was roiling in him.
Instinct had her soothing that anger with her own calm and love, projecting it into his thoughts, not invasive, but just there, at the edge of his mind. He had to accept her presence, and he did, another shudder going through him when she sent a calming wave of energy through him.
"Need you," he rasped into her hair, voice raw. "I need you close. Please, taisilee."
She placed a kiss over his hidden heart. "You don't have to ask, love," she murmured, feeling another tremble wrack him as he nuzzled her shoulder, fairly crouching over her.
He rose to his full height, scooping her off her feet, and spun to stalk deeper into the heavily secured control room. He passed the computer system that controlled the security of the Citadel, then paused in the doorway to the medical wing, hesitating at the sight of the large bay that had already taken the brunt of his anger. A snarl left him as he whirled away from the destruction, stomping back to the computer room and tensing when he remembered that there was a camera built into the monitor.
With the way his day was going, Dooku would remotely activate the damned thing just as he was settling down with Kyra in his arms.
A low, threatening, growl rumbled out of him at the thought, eyes narrowing, pupils shrinking into dangerous slits. Grievous couldn't let Dooku know of Kyra's existence. The Sith Lord was a very real threat to Kyra's life, and he'd be damned if he let that threat turn into reality.
Kyra gasped as another enraged snarl left him, meeting his gaze and shivering at the anger there. "Grievous." Worried, she rose her hands to his face, shifting in his hold so she could place a kiss over his vocalizer. "Grievous, look at me." When that brilliant gaze jerked to her, barely controlled anger making his eyes glitter dangerously, she lightly brushed her fingers over his mask, just below his expressive eyes. "Let's go outside, love. No walls, no cameras. Just us."
He blinked at her, and for a moment, Kyra was worried that he was too far gone into his anger to understand her. But a second later, he was hurrying out of the control room, arms splitting into four, two lightsabers igniting in time to slice the security door in half.
She blinked over his shoulder at the startled Magna droids and offered them an apologetic look before Grievous swung around a corner, loping through the corridors like a predator on the hunt. Lightsabers were deactivated and replaced into the pouches in his cloak before he returned his hands to her, cradling her in his four arms as he darted through the Citadel's maze-like interior.
He was moving so quickly that she lost track of where they were, distracted by how his hands were lightly clenching and unclenching around her, his breathing a low series of wheezing growls and snarls. Even a brief series of coughs didn't slow him down, if anything, he pushed himself harder, cape billowing out behind him.
They reached a series of winding stairs that Kyra had never seen before, and she felt Grievous' grip on her tighten as he raced up them, taking them four steps at a time. Worried, she extended a bit of her Force senses, frowning when the massive ball of his anger and rage threatened to buckle her mental shields. He had told her that there were times where his anger would overrule his strict control, leaving him nothing but a creature of uncontrolled rage. But she had never expected it to be this severe. He was barely coherant, clinging to her presence - his last lifeline. What little control he had left was dangling by a thread, and he knew it.
The door they came up on buckled under a vicious kick, and Grievous carried her past it and out onto the mesa that topped the Citadel. It was the highest peak for miles, the planet's landscape stretching out below them, mists adding an eerie yet beautiful tinge to the scenery.
But Kyra ignored it, turning her attention onto Grievous as he tried to set her on her feet, a snarl leaving him when she shook her head and curled her own arms around him, fingers finding purchase on bits of his armor.
When he realized that she wasn't letting go, he hissed and instead tightened his hold on her to the point that it was almost painful before he started pacing. Taloned feet tore up the rock as he paced the length of the mesa top, back and fourth, over and over again, as if he was a caged animal that was breaking under severe mental pressure.
Her concern tripled, and she frowned as she reached up again, gently tilting his face down to hers and meeting his turmoiled gaze. His eyes were wild, the whites visible around his irises, his pupils slitted so thinly that they were almost nonexistent amongst the gold. His gaze darted from her to the mesa top and back again as he continued his pacing, hunched over a little, legs working tirelessly.
"Grievous, talk to me." She splayed one hand over his armored chest, the other rising to lightly stroke the right sensor on the side of his head, taking comfort in the fact that while he snarled at her, he did ever so slightly lean his head into her touch. Slowly, radiating calmness and trust, she sent a very tiny pulse of warmth through him, feeling his arms tighten around her as a low growl rumbled out of him, his frantic steps slowing just a little.
As a last ditch effort to reach him, she dropped all but her inner mental shields and gingerly brushed her thoughts against his. His first reaction - lashing out - was purely instinctual, and she weathered the attack, diffusing the anger and rage he buffeted her with and replying with waves of concern and warmth. He growled again, but this time, it was deeper, more of a rumble than a real threatening sound.
Reassured, she carefully broadcasted her own emotions, absorbing every wave of anger that crashed against her mind and returning each with more calmness and echoes of her love for him. All the while, she kept brushing her hands across his shoulders, trying to sooth him physically as well as mentally.
Kyra didn't notice it at first, but somewhere along the way, she had started humming. Nothing grand, just a soft melody that she had heard and apparently memorized. And the sound seemed to be doing more towards calming Grievous than anything else. He had stopped his pacing, focusing all of his attention on her, eyes wide, head tilted a little to the side.
So she kept humming, going a step further to softly send the melody into his thoughts as she rose a hand to touch his face. He eyed her hand warily, growling warningly as her fingers brushed over his cheek, his raptorine body tensing. But she merely held his gaze and lightly caressed the armor under his left eye, smiling a little when he slowly relaxed and leaned his face against her palm.
It took almost five whole minutes before a soft, hesitant, rumble whispered out of him, Grievous' eyes losing the slightly crazed look, pupils returning to their usual size. "....t-taisilee?"
A relieved smile tugged at her lips before she placed a kiss over his vocalizer. "Welcome back."
He shivered. "You shouldn't have stayed," he murmured, even as he nuzzled her cheek apologetically.
"It's alright."
"No, it isn't," Grievous protested weakly, carefully shifting his hold on her to better cradle her to him while he buried his face against her neck, shivering when she stroked the sensors on either side of his head. The last twenty minutes were a dim blur in his mind. But, somehow, he knew that there would be bruises on her legs and side that would form to perfectly mirror his hands, could feel the headache his mentally lashing out had caused. "I hurt you."
"Grievous--"
"You should have left!" he snapped, jerking his head up to glare at her. "I hurt you! I could have killed you!"
She felt his guilt and self-loathing and sent a quick wave of reassurance into his thoughts. "If roles had been reversed, would you have left me? Would you have turned your back on me if I was alone and hopelessly lost in my own darkness?"
He balked at the idea. "Of course not! But, I could kill you simply by accident if I lose control!"
"And just because I don't flaunt my Force powers doesn't mean I don't know how to use them," Kyra murmured solemnly, her voice tinged with sadness.
"But--" He cut himself off, scowling as he realized what she was saying. Various memories of Dooku thoroughly beating him with his Force abilities during his lightsaber training surged to the forefront of his mind. "Hm. You never did tell me how powerful you are."
She smiled and cupped the lower part of his mask in her hands, placing another kiss over his vocaliser. "Don't try to change the subject."
"I'm not changing the subject," he muttered, even as he rose his upper left hand to lightly caress her cheek. "I'm going off on a tangent."
A soft laugh left her. "Same thing."
"No, it isn't." Grievous moved as close to the edge of the mesa top as he dared with Kyra in his arms, then sat down, arranging his taisilee's body so she was leaning back against him. Sitting so close to one another gave him a sharp reminder that he was almost twice her height, and he grumbled as he wrapped his arms around her and tucked her flush against him, his raised knees framing almost her entire body.
And he was completely unable to stop a purr from leaving him when she slid her arms around his neck and snuggled close, placing a kiss on his chest. "You forgive too easily."
She met his gaze when he looked down at her and smiled. "Are you still mad at me?"
"Yes," he grumbled. Though he suspected that nuzzling his face into her hair lessened the severity of his tone.
"Want me to make it up to you?"
He sighed, dipping his head to meet her gaze again. "It's sort of backwards for the one who did nothing wrong to apologize, isn't it, taisilee?"
A rather amused smirk tugged at her lips. "Not if we make it up to each other."
Grievous stared at her for a moment, then chuckled, shaking his head. "And you call me incorrigible," he murmured as he tugged her a little higher, brushing the lower part of his facemask across her forehead. Purring, he slid his lower hands under her shirt, plasteel talons tracing the curve of her spine. There was very little that would keep him from her when she looked at him like that. Armageddon, perhaps. "Not that I'm complaining, my taisilee."
"Better not," she teased, laughing when he growled and tickled her. Yelping, she tried, and almost succeeded, in wiggling out of his grasp, a shriek of laughter escaping her when he grabbed the waistband of her pants and yanked her back into his arms.
Chuckling, he caught her and pulled her flush against him. "Where do you think you're going?"
Kyra grinned, seeing the playful look in his eyes. Such a welcome change considering what he'd been like only half an hour ago. "Um, first one back to our room gets to be on top?"
His breath left him in a growl, hands fisting in her shirt. "Should I give you a head start?"
"Nah." Smirking, she sent a wave of warmth, love and lust into him, watching his eyes darken as he growled and tried to haul her onto his lap. Instead of giving in, she twisted away, her shirt ripping and letting her scramble out of his reach. "I'll just have to be sneaky."
He was on his feet an instant later, tossing the material aside as he chased her down the stairwell. A part of his mind marvelled at how she had pulled him out of his rage and drawn him into this playful mood, her laughter and the scent of her growing arousal leading him through the Citadel.
It occurred to him that he'd never shown her through this section of his Lair, and Grievous quickened his pace, easily catching up to her and swinging her up into his arms, his cloak flaring out behind him. His upper hands instantly sought out her bra encased breasts, lower arms curling around her waist to hold her close. "Isn't fair if you don't know where you're going," he rumbled into her ear, taking pleasure in how her breath caught in her throat when he nuzzled the side of her neck. "I'd be a bad mate if I took unfair advantage. Though it is rather.... tempting."
"Is it?" Kyra gasped when he backed her up against a wall, lifting her off her feet as he interspersed his thin hips between her thighs.
A low chuckle left him. "Oh, yes." He knew her well enough to know just how to touch her, kneading her breasts with practiced skill and purring when he felt her hands grip his shoulders. "Now, it's left, left, straight, right, straight. Got it?"
"L-Left, left, straight.... Mmm....."
Grievous stroked the curve of her throat. "If you keep making noises like that, we won't make it to our room," he warned huskily, rumbling when she stroked his chest, sending a pulse of warmth straight to his innards. Trembling, he forced himself to let her go, eyes tracking her hungrily when she stumbled a little, unbalanced by the sudden lack of support from his body. "You'd better run."
She shivered at the tone of his voice, meeting his burning gaze for an instant before she spun and bolted, hearing his low growl as he held himself back for a moment before tearing after her. One advantage she had was that she weighed a fraction of what he did, allowing her to dart around corners with greater ease. A quick glance behind her showed that Grievous merely sunk one taloned hand into the stone wall, swinging himself into the adjoining hallway.
The look he gave her when he spotted her glancing back at him was downright predatory, sending a shiver down her spine. Gods, did she even care who got to their room first anymore? And as she felt his hand teasingly slide across her bare back, she decided that, no, she really didn't.
Grievous must have sensed the change in her, because he overtook her a second later, burying his face in her hair as he hauled her into his arms and carried her the last few metres to their room. His breath was coming in rapid pants as he freed a hand to type in the proper code, growling when she lightly dragged her nails across his armored back and curled her legs around him.
He staggered through the doorway, blindly locking the door behind him as he headed deeper into their quarters, talons already ripping her bra and pants off her body before yanking his cloak off of his shoulders. Echoes of her pleasure were already resonating through him, nearly overwhelming him, and he hissed as he backed her up against the closet wall.
"Taisilee." He reintegrated his arms back into two, guiding her legs around him again before he returned his hands to her breasts, ducking his head to nuzzle his mask against her shoulder. Gentle talons plucked at her nipples, sensors drinking in her soft gasp as she arched towards him. Even now, she stunned him with the amount of trust she had in him. Especially after she had seen him at his worst.
"Grievous...." Her breath caught in her throat when he growled against her neck, the vibration from his vocalizer sending goosebumps across her skin. Shivering, she wound her arms around his neck, mewling when he dropped his hands to knead her buttocks, pulling her into the roll of his thin armorplast hips.
Another growl left him as he wrapped his arms around her, steadying her as he carried her across the room, face partially buried into her hair. Her hands gripped at his shoulders, and he murmured her name as she placed kisses across his masked face, each embrace accompanied by a fresh surge of pleasure. He stumbled the last few steps, splitting his left arm so he could reach into her dresser while still keeping hold of her.
Plasteel talons closed around the familiar form of the alloy sex-tool, purring to her as he slid his hand between them, the attachment clicking into place as he slid the terminal into the groove on his pelvic armor. A startled hiss left him as it logged into his neural net, the artifical sensation of blood pulsing in his cock momentarily stunning him.
Kyra's breath warmed the side of his mask, pulling a shiver from him before he shifted his grip to her waist, nuzzling his face against her neck as he positioned himself and buried himself in her with one smooth thrust. "K-Kyra!" He struggled to hold himself still, panting, snarling, as he met her gaze and reintegrated his left arms, rising his hand to stroke the delicate curve of her throat, closing his eyes with a groan when she playfully ducked her head to suckle on one of his fingers.
Murmuring Kaleesh endearments, he wrapped his free arm around her waist and rolled his hips into hers, sensors along his body going into overdrive when she moaned and pressed her lips against the base of his armor-plated throat. Hands clutched at his shoulders as she matched his rhythm, letting him push her back against the wall as he seperated his arms, the soft mewl she loosed nearly driving him over the edge.
Grievous' lower arms wrapped around her waist, one of his upper hands returning to her throat while the other stroked her cheek. Her thoughts brushed against his, always asking, never intruding, and he hungrily accepted the waves of pleasure that she sent to him. When she gasped out his name and arched her back, he hunched over her and nuzzled his masked face against her chest, drinking in the sound and scent of her, eyes fluttering closed as the pleasure drugged him.
It was when he felt her core start to spasm around him that he froze, growling and hissing at her when she cried out in frustration and fairly begged him to keep moving, trying to roll her hips against him when he held her still. "Not yet, taisilee," he murmured into her ear, purring when she whimpered. "I'm not done with you yet."
"Grievous, please. More." Kyra felt him waver, just a slight tremble, the tiniest little inhalation of breath, and she took advantage, smirking as she sent a pulse of warmth through him.
He shuddered, a strangled groan leaving him as he crushed her to him and bucked his pelvis against hers, hips churning as he drove himself into her. Her hands scrambled for a hold on him, and Grievous caught her wrists in his upper hands, pinning her arms above her head. She matched his rhythm once again, crying out as he helped her meet his thrusts, lower hands gripping her waist, his mind and body overwhelmed with pleasure.
Seconds before climax would have crashed through them both, the chirping of an opening comm line snapped his attention away from Kyra. "NOT NOW!" he roared ferally, barely managing to place a hand over Kyra's mouth to muffle her dismayed cry. Blast it all, he hadn't thought to secure his own built in communicators.
Undeterred, the voice of one of his Magna Droids filled the room, drowning out his own rapid breathing. "Count Dooku requests that you contact him immediately, sir."
Grievous cursed and leaned over Kyra to start banging his head against the wall.
The droid sounded perplexed by the loud thuds. "Sir? Are you--?"
"I'M. FINE." He slammed his skull against the wall a final time, then snarled. "I'll be there shortly." And then he savagely locked down every single comm line he had, even his silent internal ones.
Kyra looked like she was ready to throttle someone to death. "If you leave me--!"
He cut her off with a low, guttural, purr, and shook his head, nuzzling her cheek as he quickly resumed the delightful movement of his hips, taking pleasure in how she started to writhe against him once again. "I would never," he growled, clenching his eyes shut as he rushed them towards climax. "I'll make this up to you later, taisilee. But, I can't draw t-this ou-t-t any-- ohhh!"
His ability to manage coherent thought dissolved into low groans and snarls, hearing Kyra's own breathing hitch in her throat as she rocked against him, her blue gaze locking with his gold. He shifted his grip, raising his lower left hand to trace little patterns over her jugular, feeling the pulse against his fingers.
She was on the edge, Grievous could sense it, could feel it in the tension that sang through her, and he pushed her towards it, growling at her breathless cries. He snapped his pelvis to hers, his cock pulsing as if it was flesh, so sensitive to her own core that suddenly clenched down on him.
A triumphant howl ripped it's way out of him, drowning out her own cry as she shook against and around him, back arching, hair tumbling down across her back and shoulders. He released her wrists, upper hands scrambling at the wall he was pushing Kyra up against, taloned feet embedding themselves into the floor. The alloy sex tool felt so real, that he could almost feel his seed shooting into her depths, could almost delude himself that he'd be able to impregnate her.
Wheezing, he slumped against her, weakly bracing most of his weight on his upper arms as he leaned his masked face against her cheek and struggled to regain his breath. Kyra moaned thinly and rested her forehead on his right shoulder, little aftershocks pulling gasps from both of them as her inner muscles fluttered around him, triggering mini-climaxes that continued to surge through them.
"I-I know I don't say this very often," he murmured into her hair, wrapping all four shaking arms around her. "But, I do love you, my Kyra."
She leaned her head back to smile at him tiredly, deep blue eyes still dark with passion. "I love you, too, Grievous. And you do say it," she added, raising a trembling hand to brush her fingers just below his right eye, hearing his sigh as he nuzzled her palm. "Every time you call me your 'taisilee', I can sense it from you."
A weakened purr rumbled out of him as he brushed the lower part of his facemask across her lips, shivering when she rose both hands to caress the sensor panels on either side of his head. He let himself indulge in the sensations for a little bit, then sighed heavily and carried her over to their bed, trying very hard to ignore how he was still buried within her. "If it was anyone other than Dooku--"
"It's alright," Kyra told him, hearing his doubtful grunt as he nuzzled her throat before he gingerly slid out of her, both of them gasping at the sensation. The look in his eyes as he set her down onto the bed made her want to grab him and try to convince him to stay, but she held back, watching instead as he slid the alloy member free of his pelvic armor, his low moan doing nothing in helping her to keep herself from jumping him again.
"No, it isn't alright." Growling, he stomped over to the dresser and hid the sex tool once again, somewhat in better control of his body now that it was disconnected from his neural net. Though he still wanted nothing else than to curl up with her.
Instead, he snatched his cloak up off the floor where he had previously tossed it, and slung it back over his shoulders, securing the clasp before moving over to her. He hunched over her, crouching low so he could brush the lower part of his mask over her lips. "I'll be back as soon as I can."

Star Wars Fun in the Sun Submission
This fic was written for @starwarsfandomfests “Summer Fun in the Sun” event. This event was really fun to participate in and I’m glad I joined in. I was given @anaisonfire to write for and chose to write some fluffy Jangobi for you with some bonding between Jango and the clones and Obi-Wan and young Boba. I hope you enjoy!

The sound of the waves lapping at the sand of the beach and the feeling of warm sunlight against his bare skin had Obi-Wan almost dozing in his chair. It had been so long since he could just relax like this and soak in the beauty and sensations of a place instead of worrying about an attack but the war was finally over. A lucky break had come from Fox who had nearly faceplanted onto the council room floor in a combination of his haste to speak with them and complete exhaustion. He had overheard a conversation between Dooku and Palpatine revealing his plans and had recorded it on his helmet cam, giving the Jedi evidence against the now exposed Sith Lord. Dechipping started as soon as they located what it was Palpatine was talking about and within the month, the head had been cut off the snake. Without Palpatine’s funding, a lot of previously Separatist worlds returned to the Republic begging for another chance. Dooku was backed into a corner and he knew it, so he had willingly turned himself into the Jedi council, giving up information on Grievous that led to his capture and the droid army’s shutdown. Things still weren’t perfect. The flaws of the Republic were more obvious than ever. The corruption ran deeper than before. The Clones still didn’t have the rights they deserved.
“What has you frowning like that, cyare? We’re supposed to be on vacation.” Jango’s voice interrupted the downward turn his thoughts had taken and his lips turned up in a warm smile.
“Just thinking about the mess we are not supposed to be thinking about while here. The usual.” He said and Jango snorted when Obi-Wan looked over to soak in the sight of him. Despite seeing his face repeated a million times in the war, none looked quite as handsome as Jango’s own scarred appearance to him.
“That’s fair enough. I keep worrying about Boba.” Jango admitted looking out over where the 212th and 501st were all playing volleyball or splashing in the water or laying in chairs like Jango and Obi-Wan just soaking in the sun. Obi-Wan sighed. Boba was another issue they would have to figure out a solution to. Well, not Boba himself, but how to integrate him into the rest of the family.
“Where is he now?” Obi-Wan asked when he didn’t see the boy in question.
“Inside the hotel room moping. I left him some books to read that I thought he might like so hopefully he’s curled up with one of those at least. I wish I knew how to make it better. I suppose just time with the mind healers for all of us. Watching who he thought was me get their head cut off is not the sort of trauma that goes away in a few months.” Jango murmured rubbing his face and Obi-Wan reached out to squeeze his hand.
“I have to admit it was a big shock to all of us when Dooku revealed you were alive and that the person Mace killed had been one of the clones he had kept personally for purposes such as that. I’m just glad that you survived and that Boba had been able to be located and reunited with you.” He said seriously. Jango nodded.
“If Aurra weren’t already dead I’d kill her again for poisoning him to think I’d want him risking his life that way. I just want him happy and healthy.” He said, squeezing Obi-Wan’s hand back. The relationship that had somehow started between them, since Jango was recovered from where he had been imprisoned and had started helping fight for the clones and clean up the mess that he helped make, was the biggest surprise of all. Obi-Wan had always assumed that Jango was a cold heartless person to have made all the clones and treated them so indifferently, however he had realized that the opposite was in fact true. Jango cared greatly for the clones but he had been just as much a prisoner in Palpatine and Dooku’s schemes as they had and he had distanced himself to protect them from being targeted due to Dooku thinking he might use them against him. Finding out Jango had also been implanted with a rudimentary version of the chip also explained a few things and allowed him to be pardoned for the attempted hit on Padme. Of course, a lot of it was still on Jango’s shoulders and he was doing all he could to rectify his actions. Somehow in all the working together to help the clones, Obi-Wan and Jango had become close enough to the point that even Boba and Anakin had been calling them a couple behind their backs. Now they really were.
“Vacations don’t work well when we just lay around and let ourselves worry about things. How about we go join in on the death ball game the boys are playing instead?” He offered and Jango chuckled, kissing his cheek.
“That sounds like a great idea. Just don’t complain when my team crushes you.” He said getting up and waving over at Cody.
“Wait a minute! Cody is my commander! He’s going to be on my team!” Obi-Wan quickly hopped up to follow and get integrated into the teams. Obi-Wan ended up on Rex’s team while Jango had cockily gained Cody’s choice, Cody giving Obi-Wan a fake-apologetic smirk.
“You can’t even hold onto your lightsaber and you expect me to think you can keep a ball?” He teased with a lot of clones’ ‘ooo’s surrounding them.
“Oh it’s on now, my dear, you’ve made a grave mistake.” Obi-Wan had said, moving to huddle with his team. In the end, due to a non-Force use rule, the teams were evenly matched and the game never really got far in either team’s favor. They were all just having fun wrestling a ball from each other and trying to get it to the opposite team’s goal. Eventually, they all decided to split the difference and go change in Anakin’s room so he had to deal with all the sand instead of the losing team’s when they broke for lunch.
Jango managed to convince Boba to come out and join them for the meal and Obi-Wan smiled as the boy enthusiastically told his father about something he had been reading about snails. Seeing the difference in the way he acted when he had thought he lost his father compared to now was a shock. With Jango’s love and support, it was like looking at two different people. Although, the older bitter Boba was still in there and came out around the clones as shown when Cody sat beside Obi-Wan and started to chat causing Boba to quiet and withdraw.
“Can I go to the tide pools and look for the snails once we’re finished here, buir?” Boba asked and Jango nodded.
“Of course. Just be careful.” He agreed and Obi-Wan perked up at the perfect opportunity to try to bond a little with the boy.
“If you don’t mind, I’d love to come with you Boba. There are lots of little creatures there I’d like to see. Plus those bioluminescent snails sound really fascinating.” He said making sure to show he was listening to what Boba was saying by repeating some back.
“I guess it wouldn’t be bad to have you along. You can probably use your Force thingy to find them more easily.” Boba agreed after a moment of thought and Obi didn’t bother correcting him that the Force didn’t work that way. They quickly finished up the last of their meal and Boba led Obi-Wan towards the rocky area where the tide pools resided. Jango had declined in joining them with a knowing look at his Jedi and made an excuse of needing to call and check in on some work.
“Do you like ocean animals a lot, Boba?” He asked, trying to start a conversation to which the boy shrugged.
“I like all animals. There are so many planets with so many different ways for them to evolve and so many little differences even in species that are mostly the same. It’s cool to see what new things I can find out on each planet my buir and I visit. He used to make it a game we’d play together.” He admitted kicking a rock to splash into one of the little pools of water.
“Jango loves you a lot. You know that him helping the other clones doesn’t change his feelings about you, right?” Obi-Wan asked him and Boba grunted.
“I didn’t invite you to have you try to pick around in my brain. Now get to using your Jetii magics to find me some glowing snails or go back to making dopey looks at my dad and let me do my thing.” He grumbled and Obi-Wan rolled his eyes but did his best to feel around them to try to see if he could connect to any of the animals and figure out where the snails could be if they were even there at all.
While sensing the creature’s minds he felt them all diving deeper from what he figured was fear of the two humans encroaching on their homes however suddenly there was a faint rumbling and he gasped when Boba went barreling right into his stomach knocking him back into one of the ponds just in time to keep him from falling into a hole that opened up under where his feet had been.
Boba groaned as they both picked themselves up, equally soaked. “Dang it. Buir specifically told me not to fall in, now he’s going to laugh at me,” he whined.
“Thank you. I’m not even sure what just happened.” Obi-Wan confessed glad he had been in beachwear already, unlike Boba who was trying to wring out his t-shirt without removing it now.
“The rocks here aren’t round and solid like on most beaches. They’re flat and shift around with the tides as well like plates. It was in the book. The change in temperature at different points in the day causes the water currents to shift and then they move. I saw the fish diving and the rock around it start to move. I might not fully like you but my dad does, so letting you get trapped in a hole and drown seemed like the wrong move.” Boba said, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his shorts awkwardly.
“Well, I appreciate it nonetheless. It seems your extra reading saved my life.” He said with a chuckle, stroking his beard out of habit. “It would have been a shame to live through a whole war only to die to a little water and rock.” He said and Boba snorted but relaxed.
“The great Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi done-in by a change in tide while on vacation does sound like a great holonet headline.” He teased and they both continued their search for sea snails a little more carefully, eventually catching a few in a bucket to bring back and show Jango and the clones. Things weren’t perfect, but as Obi-Wan curled close to Jango’s warm chest that night, he found he was okay with that.
