Word find issues can be fun!
Some my family and I have come up with:
Biblically accurate unicorn (aka rhino)
Flying fire flamingo (Phoenix)
"please close the nightmare" - translation "it's dark outside at 5pm and I want the curtains closed"
"please turn off the window" - similar to above, "please close the curtains, the light is glaring"

An illustrated image of me in my recent days 😊tea☕️ & Books📖
Tumblr media
I been starting my day by being grateful for all my blessings and pump myself up with some positive fuel, meaning (listening to audio books that reflects on what I need to work on to continue to succeed.)  Although, we’ve had some pretty hot summer days I can’t pass up a nice hot cup of tea in the morning at the start of my work day.
After work I prepare dinner then shower and whine down with a nice warm cup of tea and read a few chapters of a confidence and personal growth book.
This has been so encouraging and helpful to my stress level. It feel as if I am planning my success for each coming day.

Do you have a learning disability? Tell us about your experiences by taking this survey!
Participate in a new study about the marginalization of people with learning disabilities. Stigma and stereotypes surrounding learning disabilities continue to affect people’s lives in complex ways, and I am interested in hearing from YOU about how you deal with stigma and identity related to your learning disability.
My name is Liz, and I am a doctoral student from identityLORE: the Laboratory for Oppression, Resilience, and Empowerment at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am looking to hear from individuals who are interested in participating in a survey about the life experiences of people with learning disabilities. This survey should only take about 10-15 minutes.
Eligibility Criteria: • 18 years old • Diagnosed with a learning disability/disabilities • Live in the U.S.
If you meet the above criteria and are interested in participating, please click on the link below to begin the short survey. Additionally, please consider sharing this survey with anyone you know who may be interested in participating!

***This study has been approved by the Teachers College, Columbia University Institutional Review Board: Protocol #18-125. If you have any complaints, questions, concerns, or would like to know the results, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at [email protected]

So as you may know I've been very very sick for about 12weeks. Anyway I could barely leave my room for the past 7weeks. I couldn't eat solid food, couldn't stop vomiting, had horrendous full body pain. So anyway Ive had my surgery and so far so good. Tonight I calmly walked over 9000 steps. This is one of 2 walks I've done that aren't to the bathroom or down a hospital corridor. This is an amazing achievement for me and I hope it gives others confidence that there is hope and there are good days. God Bless you all or Love Peace and Good Vibes for my non-God believing wonderful friends and followers. Might pay for this tomorrow but wow it felt so good to move my body. Peaceful and under the stars down the beach. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY Today is ID Day and it is designed to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions So in the spirit of celebration... of you know @jennyruthling you know she is a total BOSS Always looking out for others, loving unconditionally, praying over everyone who is fortunate to have her in her world and taking on what life and God puts in front of her with strength and courage On the weekend Jen performed with the incredible @midnight_feast__ company in their staged reading of “The Blue Bird” Jen has never done something like this and took to it like a duck to water and as her big sister I couldn’t be more proud!!! Sometimes in the minutia of life it is easy for me to forget the uniqueness of my sister because to me she isn’t my disabled sister, she is my sister who happens to have a disability and it rarely stops her from taking over the world!!! If you have someone like this in your world remember to celebrate them as much as I know they celebrate you xxx #proudsister #idday #love #family #grateful #blessed #thehouseofling #williamssyndrome #rarediseases #dontdismyability (at NIDA - National Institute of Dramatic Art) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5m2AYEnpur/?igshid=qxeok6tm540e

Today we were talking about feminism and issues that those who are abled differently face . These challenges are human challenges. I was so impressed by how powerful these women are . I am so humbled to have been in the convening . I remember when I brought a girl who was differently Abled to the amazing @conniealuoch And she did transformation to her . We call it EXTREME MAKEOVER. Now that girl is working for @safaricomplc_ I then spoke to Connie Aluoch about a girl living with albinism and she gave me the chance and she shot @lucy_nyawira as a fashion model. That visibility that we worked together to create opened doors for her until she landed a cover of @coutureafrica As I am talking to you today , Luciana Nyawira is working for @loreal in the Kenyan office . The office associated with @lorealmakeup . I Letoya Johnstone gave this beautiful fashion model her first runway catwalk and her first major photoshoot. I couldn't have done it with these amazing women and some exceptional men out here who listened to me . God bless you all. We really need to focus our eyes on our people living with disabilities because Human rights is everyone's rights . #DontDisMyAbility #dontdismyability Xo Xo Toy Toy baby - Kill it with love #letoyajohnstone With me is model @lucy_nyawira (at Nairobi, Kenya) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0bdW9jjRA5/?igshid=75hm7t01l387

Tonight is one of the most painful nights I've had since being home from the hospital. I am out of Klonopin which I can say did help somewhat with the spasms and storms. When I'm in such pain like this, I get little reminders like this one! I don't know why I was given this mountain, yet I am learning and showing how to move with dignity, grace and perseverance! I don't know how I do it at times. Yet I know it is with The Most High strength and wisdom. So you may have been given a mountain similar to mines or maybe nowhere close, but it was given to you for a reason. The lessons I am learning through my mountain I share to help others. Use your mountain to show others how it is done!! #LifeofanEDSerwomanofcolor #edsawareness #wheelchairuser #ehlersdanlossyndrome #dystonia #advocate #zebrastrong #wheelchaircommunity #lifeonwheels♿ #differentlyabled #innerpeace #strength #resilience #perserverance #wheelchairgoddess #dontdismyability #clicklinkinbio✅ #itsokaynottobeokay #itstheclimb #yougotthis #EDSdoesntdefineme #klonopin #cannabisheals #cannabiscommunity #hempproducts #keepsmiling😊💕💜

2013 this kiddo graduated from #LejeuneHighSchool with an actual graduation certificate. Not a certificate of completion. This was a HUGE accomplishment! He was pushed ALOT by many in his life to keep going, to keep trying. I love this #picture - it's more than just a picture. It says alot more than most would understand. Those that know these two would definitely understand their bond and what this photo signifies. #todayinpictures #specialneeds #autism #devilpups #camplejeune #militarybrat #MarineCorps #microcephaly #seizures #ThroughOurLives #siblings #siblinglove #dontdismyability #morethanalabel https://www.instagram.com/p/CQD3J6Frcgl/?utm_medium=tumblr

Also, just because someone has mental health issues, doesn't mean they don't have goals and dreams and aren't capable of achieving them. Active sometimes it works in our benefit. If I wasn't they way I am I wouldn't have been able to get all my educational certificates in various sectors and be pregnant , sick, complications, repression, BPD, OCD, PTSD, more pregnancies.....4 children.... And actually it is a fact thus far (personally) that I haven't achieved anything educationally since not having my kids full-time. My mania came in handy to get through all the hard times as it gave me emotional endurance and the ability to see things differently and have a different attitude. I went 29 & 1/2 yrs at full capacity.... Then had a breakdown. Now I have to learn to rest, it's harder than doing stuff all time ...well sometimes. Anyway get help when you need help. Focus on getting to a point that you can be functional the best you can. Go a learn new skills and use your type of brain/disability as an advantage.
