Is the hospital Archie was reportedly born at referring to birth certificates rather than hospital records? There's zero chance of a woman going to a hospital in the UK to give birth and the hospital having no record of it.

However, in the UK births aren't legally registered at hospitals the parents do this later, in England a birth must be registered within 42 days.

In the US I think parents are given some kind of official form after the birth but it's not same as a birth certificate which is a different document.

Maybe people are getting confused by the different systems in the UK and US.

That is what I thought - that the birth has to be recorded some how.

I went to the Harry Markle article (thank you @teaandbooks for sending in the link) and grabbed the exact quote, which is:

"the alleged offspring that are named as 6th and 7th in line to the throne, even though no practising medical professional has ever officially verified the births. In a recent case, the Portland Hospital has admitted in court documents that it issues documents to obtain a birth certificate to the medical professional who booked the room, and that they require no proof that a birth actually took place (the case in question is a man who is claiming custody of a child he claims his ex-wife gave birth to, but she claims no child exists). With the admission of this, it also means that a birth could take place at the hospital and no birth certificate would be issued either. In this case, the hospital is denying they have any records or responsibility for recording the birth as they are not obliged to do either."

I don't know what the court case is, and I haven't seen the documents for myself, but as per above the hospital does not confirm that a birth took place before handing out the documents required to get a birth certificate. So you could book a room, waddle in wearing a fake tummy, have your medical person come in, he/she goes out and says you have given birth, and the hospital hands over the documents to register the child without any further checks.

As per the above report, the hospital is also saying they have no obligation to record the birth or to keep any medical records pertaining to the birth, which sounds ridiculous to me.

If I had access to the court documents I could check further, but for now this is all I have.
