i love imagining a cinematic sort of montage of scenes that show the juxtaposition of Viggo's upbringing against the life of the dragon riders; going from a young Viggo being told by his father and grandfather that dragons are witless beasts of vicious nature, to an older Viggo watching the riders share a deep bond with those same creatures.

do any of the Tobecky kids share Tobey’s love for robots?

Yes, well, sorta... but yes, sorta. It's Matilda. While she's not really that into robots or automatas to that level to invent them, as she's more into being a doctor with the hypothetical mental sciences. She is still a scientist and lover of anything technologically impressive. So, she does use gadgets and engineering to her advantages (mostly for her wheelchair and her own inventions). Her and Tobey bond with that, and it is cool that Tobey has at least one of them partake in a part of his interests and that he can share his knowledge in a healthy way. Catharsis for how a real parent should share robotics with his kids (Theodore McCallister II shade yay!)

As for the other two...lol.

While Tori was and is not at all interested in anything robots (as the jock and cultural astronomer), she does find her dad's robots cool and, in general, think they're awesome in a childish way. But specifically, the giant fighting ones, which to her disappointment her dad doesn't make unless they're for emergencies. She wants more Gundam type things khkhgfgh. Being the oldest and at that time when she was the only child he had to take care of at home, she was the one who did at least absorb some of his robot knowledge whenever he worked in the house. But, rarely does she use it.

And Luis? You would think he would have a passing interest since he's a semi computer nerd and gamer. But...this is Luis (resident introverted artist emo). He definitely thinks robot building and inventing is all nerd stuff and that his dad is the 🤓 emoji. He would laugh at the idea of building a robot himself. (And definitely not coping with how he doesn't understand the concepts and that he doesn't have the time and attention for it). But at least Luis enjoys robots and does see them in a positive light, specifically the sentient creative ones with their own wills (and not techbro AI, tho he's got bad feelings about that). He doesn't hate the idea of robotics. He just likes to make fun of his dad's hobby. And yes, Tobey has tried to get him interested, but nope, he won't budge. (In a way, Tobey's relived that Luis doesn't). I will say that Luis doesn't have an intellectual love for robots....BUT he might have a love for them in another way, aka he's susceptible to crushing on anything 'boy' and that includes fictional robot guys. Luis is a secret tsundere love obsessed idiot so this isn't a surprise. And yes, everyone else knows this, and in the end, it's probably best that he isn't trying to build himself a boyfriend. Cause who would do that? Its like making a robot girlfriend? Haha...[Wordbot flashback], oh wait...
