I was listening to The Adults Are Talking and I was thinking about how some parts of it sound like pretty much just an allegory for having an affair w someone who's married, particularly "I know you think of me when you think of her" and pretty much the whole rest of the chorus lol. I was just wondering if you had a similar interpretation of it or if you had a different view of it?? :))
WELL........PRETTY MUCH YEAH
i will also add that my irl and i were talking about this and as they pointed out an interpretation of it being about a gay affair and an interpretation of it being about politics dont have to be mutually exclusive. after all being gay Is highly politicised and it's impossible to ignore the overt political bent of it given how much of the promo was political + julian adlibbing "when the left and right argue every hour" during the snl performance, just like how it's impossible to ignore the implications of "i know you think of me when you think of her" lmaoo. like if this song is about loving someone who's closeted then that begs the question Why are they closeted? if theyre closeted because of the current sociopolitical situation then of course you'd be fucking angry at the system for forcing you and your lover into this situation. taat honestly has so much anger in it especially when performed live and it makes total sense
plus julian does the whole intertwining personal relationships and musings on politics/life thing a lot i think i had a post about it but it may have just been a draft. it's very apparent in both versions of the eternal tao (which is even more relevant since the ending of the adults are talking gets its general melody and lyrics from tet 2.0 + julian often replaces the studio lyrics of taat outro w tet 2.0's)
tet -> opens with a audio excerpt that sounds like a dating ad
tet 2.0 -> well..we all know the tet 2.0 ending
+ throughout both songs the lyrics are mainly musings on life and the music industry but he likes to throw in little turns of phrase w more personal connotations eg
Nothing's black or white, it's all grey Honesty without tact is cruelty Nothing turns me on like what you say Bending towards pending demise
or qyurryus where he leads you in w the goofy ass "hot track, hot dress / undressing this hot mess" and then hits you with "the public is confused / prison jazz virtue / he knows the truth / if he thinks it through / [...] / that's not your problem / at least not today" and "trusting systems of the law"
soo..yeah big fan of how julian's lyrics intertwine the personal and the political. and while "the personal is political" is more popular as a feminist phrase i always find it very true in every part of life and it definitely applies to the issue of gay rights as well. thats my take on it anywayy

The issue is, everyone that has a strong bias, has the same perception about their bias. They always think that "they don't care as much about my bias". You can ask Jimin biased and they will say the same thing. And they can also point out reasons for their statement, like the fact that he had very few appearances and a short promotional time. Yoi can check the tl right now and they are crying about everything.
The conclusion that ppl that has a strong bias reaches is always the same - only ppl that bias that member care about them and all the rest either doesn't do anything or just the bare minimum. You can find this repeated everywhere, just changing the member name.
Are they all right?
At some extent they are. People will always prioritize their own bias, simply because it's usually who they like the songs better and will naturally listen to them more.
Also, maknae line (not vocal line) has more fans than hyung line (for multiple reasons, which also influences individual success) so they have bigger numbers. Which has very little to do about how mainstream some music genre are. Hip hop is literally the most popular style in the US, however, rapline numbers dont reflect that and people keep using the same excuses. Also, pre-release numbers are not related to music genre/quality because we didn't even listen to the song before, so we have no idea how it sounds like (just an idea from the media release which will never influence someone's decision on buying or not). It's just a popularity/buying power measurement.
The thing about Jm in particularly, at least from what I noticed, is that pjms are extremely organized and focused, and many ot7 big accs are also Jm biased and they work really hard for him.
I don't think that my bias receives the same attention as some of the members from the fandom or the company, but honestly? It's his problem to deal with. He's chosen to stay in the company and I dont think he will leave. He's smart and he knows how the industry works. He's building a name and has enough money to quit whenever he wants to, so I'm definitely not worried about him. I will not cry and throw up because army dont love him as much as the next member and fight strangers on twt/tumblr, and I believe that no one should. It's not worth nd it's part of the textbook manipulation that kpop uses.
Hi anon!
I think a problem many are having is that solo era feels as though army is falling apart. We’re used to be a force that gets things done, and now people feel betrayed.. because things are different from when BTS are together.
I don’t think being a solo is wrong as long as you don’t spread hate to the other members. I think it’s a natural development as a result of solo era. I can imagine new fans of Jk because of Golden (as an example) but who have never experienced BTS don’t really feel attached to the other members (yet). Army is changing, I think that is what’s happening. I mostly wish the hate dor other members would go away.. they don’t deserve that and they wouldn’t want that.
Tae is my bias, but I wouldn’t say I feel any sort of competition for him to do better than other members. I know Tae will do well with whatever he sets his mind to. He’s smart, he’s talented, he has vision, and he’s extremely likable. Do I think BH is shit to him, yes. I also think BH has been shit to other members. I just mostly think BH is shit. I can honestly say that I support all members equally. I might talk about Tae and Jk mostly on here, but I listen to all of their music, I mostly watch BTS footage of all of them together, I watch all their solo content (if I have time.. I can’t even say I’ve seen all Tae’s interviews I think..). I think what I’m mostly missing in fandom is the wish for members other than a person’s bias to do well.

The only reason olivia was nominated for anything was because he label has always paid for it to happen she's in no way talented enough to win a Grammy on her own
see like here's the thing to my point yesterday from my post ab sabrina not being grammy nominated, there's a way to support someone without tearing down someone else (i.e. the women supporting women concept)
i'll be honest and say im not a fan of olivia. her music just personally isn't something i care for, and only really like a handful of songs of hers that i dont really reach for to listen anyways. but with that said, just because i dont really gel with her music doesn't mean im gonna go off and say she's not talented, bc that's totally subjective and clearly she has to have talent if she's had the astronomical success that she's had, and that's great for her, but her music isn't for me so it's inconsequential to me if she's nominated or not and that's okay! good for her, but i am bummed as hell that sabrina didn't nominated and unfortunately, bc of the DL drama (that i am BEYOND over hearing about and have my own gripes about how that was handled), sabrina is always gonna be inextricably linked to olivia, so it's one thing to be bummed about sabrina, but we dont have to go after olivia for getting nominated because they're two separate people that deserve to be talked about individually
i have my own issues with the grammys/scammys as is but that's not something im blaming on olivia or saying she has any fault in in the slightest. for me, i didnt particularly care for sour or guts because im very particular about my pop music since my first love is rock/punk/screamo/metal etc (more aggressive music) so for me it doesn't matter if she got the grammy nom, that's not something im concerning myself with, i just want us to be able to support women without it being at the expense of someone else in the industry because we dont have to be fans of everyone and that's okay 💌
at the end of the day this is my sabrina side blog, and that's who i wanna focus on on here 💌

Kind of annoys me you never include Omar when discussing their futures in the industry. Even though music is his focus, he has said that he wants to continue in the acting world. He is a great actor and has the versatility to star in spanish english and swedish movies/shows. Let’s not just focus on the white guy.
Firstly if you read the chain the beginning of the chain I didnt discuss omar because the initial anon a few anons back was strictly about edvin and then someone asked about malte and we kept on that line of conversation but since you asked about Omar I have thoughts about Omar actually. Firstly, I appreciate Omar has passion for acting but I do consider him a singer first and foremost. Thats been his profession for a long time (not saying he is a bad actor) am just saying thats Omar's established art form. I don't personally feel like there is enough roles for Omar in swedish media to allow him not to be pigeon holed into a particularly narrative. Now could Omar have a future in spanish speaking media?? Thats a tough call because there is a couple of things he would need to fix first. So Omar's accent is not one that is used in spanish speaking media often. I get it because I have one of these types of spanish accents too. Most spanish speaking media uses the mexican or the spanish style way of speaking so he would need to take some voice lessons which I am sure he could do. Also and i totally get it because Omar probably uses most of his spanish with family if he isnt on tour singing his songs. If you speak spanish and actually listen to him talk he doesnt have the most expansive vocabulary. Which I totally get because I have the same issue I speak fluently but I dont live in a spanish speaking country where am learning new words and expressions and so I tend to repeat sayings and things like that. Also most spanish media exist in madrid or mexico city and so unless he moved to one of these countries his audition opportunities are gonna be few and far between he would need to leave sweden and like really hit the ground running to work the indy spanish circuit and try to work with up and coming directors. Telenovela I think Omar could crush but once again most of those are distributed via Mexico city. I just feel like for now I could easily see Omar always be given the love interest role or the secondary role to a main character instead of being the main protagonist.
Like I just checked my netflix and filter through all the scandi languages and they are a few shows with diversity but its not super pronounced and I get its probably something thats being worked on in swedish media but just makes me wonder if Omar would have enough range in roles in Sweden and he would need to make some big life sacrifices to break into the latin market. BTW I think Omar would crush certain telenovela's and some latam netflix shows too. I just dont personally see swedish media being the best route for his big screen success.I think Omar has the talent to take a role on like what Gael Garcia's breakout role in Amores Perros. Like Omar would destroy a role like that but he just needs to move to an area in the world where that role is up for grabs imo.

I dont have a problem with adele outselling taylor. The reason many ppl, not just swifties, are upset with her is her arrogance. She rented out all the vinyl factories in the world, skipping a 6 month line in the process. Now small artists who cant afford to pay them off like that have been set back at least a year. And she keeps going on about how shes the only "real" artist making real music, and knocking down all trendy stuff. You can look up what indie artists and record stores are saying about her. Its hardly limited to our fandom.
Im a long time fan and i have supported her for years, even when she was ahead of taylor, because i admire her talent. But she has changed. Shes essentially become a boomer. Its very offputting to see an artist of her quality talk shit about everyone else. The reason taylor is able to keep succeeding at that level is because she grows and changes with the industry, and supports her peers. She competes in a healthy manner. I dont think someone who jumped the line deserves to break records. The 500k vinyls she printed shouldnt exist in the first place.
this narrative just simply isn't true. vinyl shortage has been going on for at least a couple of years now because there is a sudden increase in demand and not the infrastructure to keep up with it - and then add pandemic related manufacturing delays which are affecting ALL industries and you've got an issue that affects all artists and has nothing to do with adele. she did not skip a 6 month line, she handed in her album 6 months early just like every other artist has to if they want their vinyl releasing for first week sales.
"look up what indie artists and record store are saying about her"
for example, like all these articles (i could go on, they were very easy to find via a simple google search) where people in the industry say it's not her fault and that vinyl delays go way beyond her?
also i fail to see how she's "basically become a boomer" and is "talking shit". i've seen some quotes from her that people take issue with and it always seems like people are deliberately nitpicking her words in bad faith. i'm not even an adele fan, i've never even listened to one of her albums in full (i'm listening to 30 for the first time literally right now) so this isn't even me defending her from the place of a stan or anything i just genuinely fail to see what legitimate problem people have with her at the moment.

about the recent bts / permission to dance slander
( its gonna be here too cuz its my blog and i dont care. its about the ppl who shit on bts because of their english songs. i got so mad after seeing everyone bitch on reddit. )
yall be fucking dramatic and really don't seem to like the boys very much if you doubt them, it's fucking cringe... the way y'all think y'all know better than hybe and bts themselves PLS. like i understand not liking the song, it's not their best work BUT IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE and bts themselves always say that their english songs are not deep. yall cross the line when yall PROJECT on the members and go like "ahh there's something wrong with them, bts sold out, they need a break, they don't like making music anymore". yall even say you wish them to enlist and other shit 🤢🤢
but bitch are you YOONGI to say that he's losing passion for music or that he should hate the musical direction bts is taking or whatever? you have this imaginary yoongi in your head and when the REAL yoongi doesnt meet your stupid expectations you SHIT ON HIM AND BTS. you act so fucking pathetic and ALL you need to do about it is simply be invested in bts enough, listen to THEIR OWN words and to all their music not only 3 english songs. YOUR BTS SELLING OUT / LOSING PASSION / BEING CLUELESS NARRATIVE IS BULLSHIT. you are not even a fan because it should be obvious for fans.
when you complain about lets say yoongi being proud about the billboard and talking about being first a lot cuz "ITS IS SO WRONG, HE ONLY CARES ABOUT NUMBERS NOW", are you seriously this dumb? MAYBE LEAVE HIM ALONE AND FUCKING LET HIM BE PROUD AND CONFIDENT?? Ofc he should talk about it and be proud CUZ DUH their achivements are amazing. bts are always greatful and work SO hard for them. they are having this huge success because they deserve it 100 % and they ALWAYS acknowledge that armys support them in return for everything they do for us. what you think he is supposed to do, cry and say that bts is shit and armys are shit for supporting bts cuz YOU think bts is shit and sold out?😐 bts members are very ambitious and goal-oriented, have always been this way, and they have the RIGHT to be. again, if there's anybody who deserves having records broken, it's THEM.
they said numerous times that they are aiming at the grammys with all these english releases. IT IS THEIR GOAL FOR NOW. they have reached more things than anyone could ever imagine so next they want a grammy and they will get it. idc if you think grammys are shit so bts shouldnt try to get the award, THEY ARE TRYING AND THIS IS THEIR WAY. they are doing everything they can to be acklowledged by this highly biased institution which is STILL CONSIDERED INFLUENTIAL worldwide. they make connections in america and make english songs that break records and actually give them recognition there (cuz apparently some americans dont know that english translations exist).
bts are phenomenal, very different from other artists, and so talented but ppl think they are not worthy of something called "the most important music award". they will actually give this award the meaning it is supposed to hold. cry if you disagree. you say bts are selling out and seek western validation but you miss the point. THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT WITHOUT THESE ENGLISH SONGS AND CONNECTIONS BTS WILL CONTINUE TO BE IGNORED BY THE RACIST AMERICAN MUSIC INDUSTRY.
and then if you say "they should make deeper english songs to win a grammy" consider
1) english is not their native language but even then they are doing great and make good happy pop songs
2) dynamite literally gave them the nomination??, making this type of song was a right move
3) pls they gave the bts's award to some lady gaga shit purely because WHITE AMERICAN and connections. like I literally would prefer bts putting out the most low-effort terrible song and getting a grammy because armys held the committees hostage than THIS CORRUPT NONSENSE.
hmm do some of yall really have the audacity to say that bts didnt deserve to win? they are authentic, talented, hard-working, worthy. THEY LITERALLY PAVED THEIR WAY TO THE GRAMMYS. THEY MADE WHAT NOBODY IN KOREA HAS DONE BEFORE. all that just to be fucking disrespected by old white men????
so in conclusion BTS ARE THE SAME. they changed ofc but for the better. they have goals and reach them. THEY ARE NOT SELLING OUT. they have too much at stake for yall to be throwing this phrase around. THEY WILL GET THE GRAMMY.
AND i didnt dislike ptd. in fact ptd is the SOTC. so just stay mad.

ik this might be controversial but i think bp’s music is going downhill, esp listening to the recent teaser for shut down
disclaimer: i am NOT against the girls in any way, the only hate i intend to direct remotely in their way is to teddy and yg for giving bad music
as a classical music enjoyer, i think its pretty insulting of teddy to use paganini’s la campanella.
a lot of violinists associate paganini (im gonna refer to him as pag from here) with pain (reasonable, since the technique is insane). other than violinists, every single other instrument also has their own ‘pag’ (e.g ibert for flute, bottesini for double bass etc) where either the technique, musicality or both need a lot of skill and consistent practice.
personally, i think its about time society moved on from stereotyping classical music as the ‘most famous composers’ (beethoven, mozart, bach, pag etc) and the ‘most famous pieces’ (beethoven’s 5th, nachtmusik, fugue in d minor, 24 caprices etc). other than these big names, we could all explore the different composers, like debussy (relatively big in the classical community) or scarlatti (not super well-known but one of my favs).
other than pag, there are a lot more issues w the music, like how every single song has the same format
the pattern i noticed very frequently is
-> intro, usually with gradually increasing volume of the instrumental to build up tension to jennie’s first verse
-> lisa sometimes has a short part here to continue the rap flow
-> rosé’s verse
-> jisoo’s prechorus
-> jennie + lisa have main chorus, with occasional adlibs from the vocals
-> lisa rap
-> jennie rap in the same verse
-> jisoo’s verse, usually copy-paste from rosé’s verse
-> rosé’s prechorus, usually copy-paste from jisoo’s verse
-> lisa + jennie swap parts for main chorus, so do jisoo + rosé
-> rosé has first half of bridge
-> jisoo has second half of bridge
-> rosé might have a little continuation of the bridge
-> outro + dance break, where all the members’ voices are put together
there are one or two songs which dont use this format very strictly (mainly their older ones) but most of them are some variation of this. this is kinda like a formula for line distribution too, so the vocals get less lines generally compared to the rappers.
about the music itself, i notice that the entire track is basically a few samples and some simple chords threaded together and put on loop, relying quite a lot on the bass beat
you can see this quite obviously in pink venom, hylt and 4d. if you pay attention to the instrumental in the chorus, you can quickly identify the beat and find it in the other verses.
as an ex-vocalist, i hear a lot of voice straining and lack of support for the vocalists. however, since i am neither a rapper nor a dancer, i cannot comment on the girls’ rapping and dancing, other than the fact that they are enjoyable. i will also not cover their live vocals and stability, because you cant pinpoint exactly when someone is singing live in the industry.
both vocalists have a lot of potential in their voices, since both of them have a unique, distinguishable tone.
for jisoo, her vocals have pretty good support, but she tends to strain instead of using her head voice when the notes are higher than her chest voice range.
for rosé, she could try to strain her voice less, like jisoo. her vocal support is also somewhat rudimentary at best. she could try to practice using her diaphragm more, along with some other technique exercises.
yes, there are definitely a lot more reasons why their music isnt good, other than all these points i mentioned.
as i mentioned in the disclaimer, the purpose of this post is NOT to hate on the girls. if anyone here is to hate, it should be teddy and yg ent.
anygays thank you for coming to my tedtalk 🫶

Dead
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
All I want in life is to be happy", it's that simple. People say that it's become their own anthem. It's like whenever I start to feel good, something comes and takes it away and I feel like I'm nothing again, like I'm dead.
Falling Away From Me
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
The song is about domestic abuse and that there ways to get help whether it's telling someone or calling a help line, there are ways to get out of those situations. Noone has to be treated like that.
Trash
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
"Trash" is about how I threw my world and everything out. I threw her away. I threw my old self away. It basically comes back down to the sex thing. The battles I did on the road, this whole album is what I went through because I was on the road and I went crazy.
Beg for Me
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
"Beg For Me" is more of an angry thing because the whole thing for "Beg For Me" is the crowd. The only time I was good on tour was when I walked up onstage and that's what the song is about. Feeling wanted is something one thing I've always needed. I was shuffled around so much when I was a kid...Being up onstage was the only point was the only time when my anxiety would go away for an hour.
Make Me Bad
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
I need to feel the sickness in you" ... It's spawned from f**kin', basically, from having sex. That's where that line comes from, but it means a whole bunch of things to me. "Make Me Bad" was about the battles I had being on the road, being married and being with other women. I'm not married anymore... beause of my lifestlyle, and I just couldnt do that to my wife anymore. So that ended. But does it make me bad that I have a dick and I have f**ken other feelings to be with other people? Why should I be with just one? It seems like human beings are genetically engineered to procreate. Thats what we do, f**k everything, and that's what our natural insides want to do. It is hard to find someone like that. But she was a good woman and I didnt want to keep on... I did the right thing, I was a man about it. It was better for me to tell her and let her go on with her life and find someone who could help her and be like that. So that song was spawned by that, does it make me bad to want to be with other women? In a sence it was my only drug, why... because I dont drink anymore, I cant drink. I've been sober for a year. I dont have any other vices. So at least doing that could be something.
Hey Daddy
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
"Hey Daddy" where I was schizophrenic and there were these voices telling me to do sh*t... To kill myself, basically. Daddy is one of my nicknames, so its like I'm talking to myself the whole time. It's hard to explain.
Dirty
Song Meaning: Jonathan
"I feel like a fucking whore to record companies." "You know how it is...the way we are used and marketed." "How they make all the money off us and we don't make shit!" "The only way we make money is to go out on tour and sell merchandise" "Basiclly we write all the music and turn in and they make all the money." "So I feel like that and also I feel like a slut cuz I'd go out at night and fucking girls and so I said fuck it, I'm going to do it. The only way to escape is to have sex." "Its all kind of different issues."
Its On!
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's On is my sh*t peer pressure song. Me being so stressed out going out and partying. Everybody's just going 'Come on dude, it's on.' That's partying, it's alcohol, cocaine, women. All that wrapped into one. I wrote a song about it. And the chorus I talked about Why am I really doing this? It's all my fault that I'm doing this because all the alcohol, the booze an the chicks do is just make it worse. They just rearrange all the problems in a different order that I can deal with at that moment.
Freak on a Leash
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
One of the best titles I've heard ever for a song. That's my song against the music industry. Like me feeling like I'm f**kin' a pimp, a prostitute. Like I'm paraded around. I'm this freak paraded around but I got corporate America f**kin' making all the money while it's taking a part of me. It's like they stole something from me, they stole my innocence and I'm not calm anymore. I worry constantly.
Got the Life
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That's a song baggin' on myself. How everything's always handed to me. How I look up to God and don't want this anymore. Like I want something more out of life than all this. And I've got everything I really need but I sometimes don't like. I don't know how to explain it. I have to let it sit through the songs more to actually get into what I write. I truly know, really, the meanings of the songs almost. That's what I'm getting out of it right now.
Dead Bodies Everywhere
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That was the song about my parents trying to keep me out of the music business. My father was in it and he knew how it was and I totally understand now that I have a son. I want Nathan to be a musician but I him don't want him to go through the hell I went through. That's the same thing my Dad was doing. A lot of people can relate to it, because it's like the Dad's wanting their sons to be football players and their sons want to be doctors or something. That peer pressure its like trying to make them something they're really not. And the Dead Bodies thing is like so I did it and all I got out of it was dead bodies everywhere and got all traumatized. Thanks a lot Dad, Mom.
Children of the Korn
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That's the song that Ice Cube is on Cube came up with the title. I fed off of what he wrote, he was talking about growing up and puberty. Dictating what he can do, like how you gonna tell me how to live and who to f**k? And all this stuff. And I took that and in my stuff I was talking about being a kid always known as the f**kin' town faggot. It's funny how things change. That some of these people picked on me and all of a sudden look who's laughing now. Also in another of the verse I talked about all these parents f**kin hating me for what I do, saying I'm corrupting their children, but in turn these parents need to step outside of themselves and really listen to what I'm talking about. Then I think they can understand that they were kids before. They're just really quick to judge me. All the Children of The Korn are all our Korn fans. All those kids going through that sh*t and feeling what I feel.
B.B.K.
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Big black cock! That's what I call a jack and coke. Those little glasses they serve in Europe and everything. That's what I named it, big black cock. And that's another song about me dealing with the pressures of this album and how I, you know, I'm trying to kill myself, but you know? Do I really want to kill myself? Things I'm just questioning myself. Most of this is self-structured.
Pretty
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's a story about this little girl that came into the coroner's office when I was working there and she was f**ked by her dad. She was an 11 month old little baby girl. Her legs were broken back behind her and he just f**ked her like a toy doll and chucked her in the bathroom. It was the most heinous thing I've ever seen in my life and I still have nightmares about it.
All in the Family
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Fred was there after Korn TV and we said, 'Let's do a song together, Hey, man, let's go back and forth and rip on each other like an old school battle.' I don't know who's idea it was, I can't remember if it was mine or Fieldy's or Fred's but we came up with the idea and we started writing and we worked on it together. I came up with some bags on myself for Fred to say. It was all in good natured fun.
Reclaim My Place
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
This one is about the whole band and about all my life being called a homosexual. And then I became this big rock star in a band and I'm still called a fag even by my own band. So it's like I was f**kin' pissed off at them. It's like erase them all because I'm gonna reclaim my place and say hey, they owe a lot to me for what I did, and I owe a lot to them back. But, it still kinda sucks. I've never ever gotten away from that fag f**kin' title. Just because I'm a sensitive kinda guy. Kinda feminine it really sucks.
Justin
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Justin, that was the kid dying terminally with intestinal cancer. His last dying wish was to meet us and it really freaked me out. That threw a whole bunch of new kind of pressures on my head. That's really intense. Someone's gonna die and his last thing he wants to do is come hang out with us. So I truly just freaked out. It's like why would you want to meet me? What makes me so special? And in turn I talk about how I admire his strength and his life. I couldn't stare at him because he was so content he was gonna die. No one could look him in the eyes. And I totally admire his strength. I wish I had it.
Seed
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Seed. That's all about the same thing again. I laying in bed in my hotel room, thinking about do I really need all this stuff? All this pressure on me? Because I'm a stressed out freak. It's about Nathan, it's about every time that I look into his eyes, I see myself how I used to be, innocent and stress free. I'm kind of jealous of it. It really sucks, I used to be that way. It's like I have to work so hard at this thing in my life. I have to become a stressed out freak. I put food on the table for my child. Every time I look in his eyes, I just see myself staring right back at my @ss laughing. I was like care free, innocent as a child. It's really weird and I'm really jealous of it.
Cameltosis
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That's a love song. It's about women in general, women who hurt me. It's Tre's lyrics. He's going on about chicks and my chorus is like I'm so scared to love anyone and really let them in after I got hurt really really bad by a girl. I've let Renee in a little bit, to be honest, but I'll never be that in love ever again. That's what I'm saying, if you've loved twice, you're gonna get f**ked, 'cause you usually do.
My Gift to You
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Renee always wanted me to write her a love song and that's why I called it My Gift To You. It's my gift to her, you know how I get sick. I always had a fantasy of f**king her and choking her to death. I fantasize about what it would look like me in her body and watching me do it. So it's like a really sick f**ked up song. I did it totally like, I love her so much, I want to take her out of this world. It's really strange. She used to leave notes on my pillow like 25 ways she'd like to kill me. She's got this weird death fetish. We're kinda f**kin' freaky. She got it. She's all 'Thank you that's kinda f**ked up. I was expecting a f**kin' I love you, baby kinda song.' I'm all, 'No, you know me.' I mean I can't do that.
Chi
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Chi is about a lot of alcohol and drug abuse. People turn to that when they have problems so that they won't have to feel their pain. The song was named after Chi Cheng from the Deftones. We named it after him because he used to call it reggae, and he loves reggae music.
Lost
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's the sterotypical thing about your best friend meeting a chick, and then you're nothing
Swallow
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That's about being paranoid. Drug-induced paranoia.
Good God
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's about a guy I knew in school who I thought was a my friend, but who f**ked me. He came into my life with nothing, hung out at my house, lived off me, and made me do sh*t I didn't really wanna do." "I was into new romantic music and he was a mod, and he'd tell me if I didn't dress like a mod he wouldn't be my friend anymore."
"Whenever I had plans to go on a date with a chick he'd sabotage it, because he didn't have a date or nothing. He was a gutless f**king nothing. I haven't talked to him for years.
Mr. Rogers
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Back in the day when I was a speed freak, um... even further back when I was a little kid watchin' Mr. Rogers, that sh*t was scary. He was a freaky old man... Land of Makebelieve and Mr. f**kinMcFeely and sh*t... made me sick. So back when I was doing speed, like for 5 or 6 days I'd be trippin out and my brain would start to get freaky and get schizophrenic and stuff, and I'd tape it and watch it everyday over and over... I don't know, I was sick in the head. As a kid he told me to be polite and all it did was get me picked on. I f**king hate that man. Thanks for making me polite and trusting everyone, and easy to take advantage of. So I spent 3 months on that one song, just tweakin' on it, and it was totally just my Mr. Rogers obsession, about how evil I thought he was. Pretty much drug induced.
K @ # Ø % (Kunt)
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
People think it's sexist but it isn't. It's more subconcious b*tching at all the women who've been with me in my life. It's not about women in feneral, just those women who hurt me." "Initially, we wrote it to send to American radio for a joke, because they always chop up all the other songs. So we were going to send a 'real' single seven days later."
A.D.I.D.A.S.
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It stands for all day I dream about sex. It's about how much of a pervert my ass is, and how I daydream about what a stud I am. But when it comes down to it, I'm a f**king pussy and I'm in there jacking off.
a** Itch
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
That was the last song I wrote, and I was so burned at writing out lyrics because everytime I write I get depressed because I start thinking about things, you know? So the whole song is about that. In the chorus it says, 'Before day, my sun will be dying'. It's because I put myself on the line all the time and for what? Because people aren't going to be listening to it anyway.
Kill You
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's about a relative I first met when I was 12. I f**king hate that b*tch. She's the most evil, f**ked up person I've met in my whole life. She hated my guts. She did everything she could to make my life hell. Like, when I was sick she'd feed me tea with Tabasco, which is really hot pepper oil. She'd make me drink it and say, 'You have to burn that cold out, boy'. f**ked up sh*t like that. So every night when I'd go to sleep, I'd dream of killing that b*tch. In some sick way I had a sexual fantasy about her, and I don't know what that stems from or why, but I always dreamt about f**king her and killing her
Ball Tongue
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
The meaning of ball tongue is simple. Some thought it had to do with oral sex, but in fact its about a guy we had to work with on a t-shirt (Jeff Creath). He either had a pierced tongue or a wart or something on his tongue and he was a dick to us.
Different live: Jonathan goes into a Rap (by Coolio) Called "Loddi Doddi" in the middle of the song.
Clown
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Korn was playing a show in San Diego for a clothing card. This skinhead guy came up and started flippin' me off. When we started, I bent down and the guy took a swing at me. Our tour manager, Jeff, got into it and knocked the guy out. I wrote this song about him: 'Scared to be honest with yourself/you're a cowardly man.
Faget
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
Everyone thinks I'm bashing gay people in this song, and I'm not. It's really about me going through high school being called 'pussy,' 'queer' and all that stuff, about getting picked on by all these jocks.
Shoots and Ladders
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It was written because all these little kids sing these nursery rhymes and they don't know what they originally meant. Everyone is so happy when singing but 'London Bridge' is about the Black Plague. All of them have these evil stories behind them." "The lyrics are all from nursery rhymes, and a lot of nursery rhymes go back to the Middle Ages. They're actually pretty twisted if you know the stories behind them, like about Black Death and stuff.
Helmet in the Bush
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
It's about a speed problem that I had. You know, you do a lot of speed and -- if you're a male -- your penis retracts severly. The guy heard at the beginning of the song is La Caco, a friend of the band. His real name is Michael and likes taco bell. He's a really Nice Guy and he has been friends with the band for years
Daddy
Song Meaning, Jonathan:
People think daddy' was writen because my dad f**ked me up the ass, thats not what the song's about. It wasn't about my dad or my mum. When I was a kid I was being abused by someone else and I went to my parents and told them about it. and they thought I was lying and joking around, they never did sh*t about it. They didn't belive it was happening to their son. I don't like to talk about that song, this is the most I've ever talked about it...

aimless musings on subgenre, citypop, and internet subcultures
theres something very interesting about watching citypop become very mainstream in korea and watching that feed back into both western listeners’ opinions and also into the sometimes-cynical efforts of a variety of kpop producers
a lot of people in the youtube/kpop sphere talk about the growth of citypop as if it were a spontaneous wave that appeared out of nowhere with mariya takeuchi’s plastic love getting picked up by the youtube algorithm in like 2018 or whatever, but thats a very like online-ignorant view of the interaction between vintage japanese music and worldwide online EDM production. citypop has been used in future funk and vaporwave for almost a decade by now, and, as a result, a number of citypop songs took off on social media here and there before plastic love’s acceleration— dress down by kaworu akimoto is one of the big examples off the top of my head, but there’s likely many many more.
youtube
“Plastic Love” by Mariya Takeuchi (1984). if you haven’t heard this yet, you’d better listen to it now. The video that first went viral was uploaded in 2017
youtube
“Selfish High Heels” by Yung Bae, Macross 82-99, and Harrison (2014) is a popular Future Funk remixes of Dress Down by Kaoru Akimoto (1986)
people who haven’t been very aesthetically literate online over the years— musically or visually, since those things are tied in subcultures— treat things like they come from nowhere. there are ongoing subcultural conversations that lead to certain aesthetic choices, and when someone tries to cash in on a trend without understanding what the trend is, that leads people to call bullshit. calling bullshit is not meanspirited, in my opinion, because it very much is like somebody who can’t speak a language getting up in front of everybody and saying “hey, i’m fluent!” and then speaking some vaguely that-language-sounding nonsense. of course people who genuinely speak that language will be outraged instinctively. it feels like being mocked.
that’s why the difference between music producers picking up on a trend cynically and music producers picking up on a trend with earnest interest in that trend’s origins feels different, even if the producers are similarly distant from the original subculture that produced that trend.
youtube
“Lady” by Yubin (2018) committed hard to the 80s JP citypop aesthetic, musically and visually, down to the sets, all fairly early in the major resurgence.
i’m sure that anyone with a passing familiarity with citypop and kpop can ascertain that not all kpop producers know what citypop is and what makes it citypop. all they know is that it is on-trend and they have to make it. not all kpop listeners know what citypop is and what makes it citypop. all they know is their idol said citypop as a buzzword in their little prepared statement. all this results in some interesting moments for me as a Music Fan, Online.
here is where i get to the thing that spurred this post: loona “did a citypop” for their japanese comeback. it doesnt sound like citypop.
youtube
“Hula Hoop (Citypop Version)” by Loona (2021). It has very odd percussion rhythms and mixing for citypop, no real attempt at a citypop verse, and strangely sparse gestures towards citypop in the form of a few seconds of bass and some synthesized orchestral embellishments that were taken from the original mix …all in spite of a very disco-inspired melody that should have worked perfectly for citypop
this is not a very big deal, and im not mad about it or anything. when a kpop act i like gets saddled with an unfortunate B-Side track i dont tend to take it very hard. however, it did raise a little bit of musical discourse in the loona fandom— in the form of remixes.
youtube
“hula hoop if it was actually a citypop song” by loonahatetwinks and Olivia Soul on youtube. this one has an original instrumental that is spot-on for contemporary k-citypop
My most favorite one of these remixes is a futurefunk remix by ZSunder, one of the very best LOONA fan producers. The fact that ZSunder thought to make a future funk remix at all speaks more to an understanding of the mutually supportive relationship between citypop and EDM genres than most kpop citypop producers or fanmixers seem to care to know about.
youtube
“Hula Hoop (Future Funk Mix)” by ZSunder is futurefunk made and mixed with such love that it has the infectious summery energy of a polished, big-name future funk hit
in the comments of this video, some people seemed to get the citypop-future funk connection and some didnt. many did get it, don’t get me wrong! but also, its not all that surprising for some kpop-focused listeners to not know much about EDM subcultures and the reasons behind various trends among producers, since kpop as an institution tends to take influences from any genre and culture it likes and then decontextualize those influences by just having their names used as buzzwords in the blurbs the idols have to recite when variety show hosts ask them about their latest single. this isn’t a criticism of the genre or the fans really, it’s just a part of the kpop industry that is used to add shine to an endless firehose-like stream of polished pop tracks. there are some issues with using whole genres and subcultures with complex histories as buzzwords, but god help us if we ever want a pop industry to give its influences their dues.
anyway, the intention behind ZSunder’s future funk Hula Hoop remix happened to remind me me of why i love Yukika’s discography so much, especially the Soul Lady album. I’ve seen some reviews online baffled by parts of Soul Lady, because the album in general is an exploration of that relationship between citypop and modern/internet EDM. i’ve seen plenty of Soul Lady reviews especially baffled by pit-a-pet, saying something along the lines of “what’s with the modern-sounding dance track in the middle of a retro album?”, but i think that pit-a-pet is a futurefunk-inspired track, at least in the chorus. considering both that and the Chill Lo-Fi Interludes, it seems like estimate’s team put together Soul Lady for Yukika in a way that shows that they love citypop and understand the online-specific electronic music subcultures that led to citypop’s resurgence.
youtube
“pit-a-pet” by Yukika (2020). the stacatto, bass heavy chorus is futurefunk enough, but the soaring orchestral part in the final chorus seals the deal for my interpretation.
youtube
“All Flights Are Delayed (1 hour version)” by Yukika (2020). Estimate literally released an hour-long youtube mix of one of the Lo-Fi interludes on Soul Lady as part of their promotion, clearly inspired by “Lo-Fi anime beats to chill out to,” which is another example of online producers from around the world using Japanese samples as a focal point of their music
Estimate, in the end, is still a Kpop production company, just the same as BBC, so they have no inherent claim over citypop, but the way that their exploration of subgenres clearly comes from passion and interest on the part of their production staff makes it so that their work with Yukika rings true. on the other hand, i really appreciate Ryan S. Jhun’s work on LOONA’s JP comeback, as well as on Not Friends, but the citypop mix thing was so clearly an afterthought to the point where fans of Loona who like citypop seem mostly just irritated by the cynical-seeming attempt.
heres one last good modern kpop citypop MV that has nods to the internet culture that led to its revival in the form of the videography— vaporwave, future funk, lofi, and other internet genres along those lines tend to have videos consisting of looping anime and vhs clips. future funk in particular is known for this, especially since a lot of future funk music, esp early future funk, is just loops of very short, catchy segments of citypop and disco songs. it’s all about the loops
youtube
“My Type” by Yoon JongShin ft. Miyu Takeuchi (2019). This song is so dedicated to the retro JP citypop sound that it’s almost beyond my personal taste. The singer, Miyu, was a headlining act at a seoul citypop festival and sang this song as part of her act (:
youtube
this video of “Only One” by Conscious Thoughts (2015) has a looped clip as an example for comparison with My Type. it also has a pulsing sidechain compressor working in time with its drum beat in a way that is common for future funk and that i think is a good example for my pit-a-pet yukika comparison to future funk
i guess the takeaway here is that media is more and more online, and the creation and propagation of digital audio and video content has been in the hands of literally almost anybody who wants to do it for the past two decades thanks to garage band and fruityloops and audacity and tiktok and youtube and bandcamp and soundcloud and myspace and newgrounds and p2p file sharing and so on and so forth. and therefore like… as with all things, the consumer class more and more is also the creator class, and therefore every member of an audio-visual subculture will have the ability to discern what is and isnt made with knowledge of the audio-visual language of that subculture

i hadn't searched up the comments because i knew it would just anger me. i cannot believe people are taking time out of their day to bully an 18 year old?! Taylor has no issue im pretty certain, she's friends with people who are friends with the k*rdashians. i dont like them at all, but i literally dont see the harm in her sending a pr package. it's a literal pr package... i'm disgusted too. i think taylor would honestly be so upset- we KNOW what this did to her!!!! It makes me want to scream. I'm sorry for venting in your inbox, i just can't wrap my head around it. I unsubscribed from so many fan accounts on youtube because they were posting mean things about Olivia and its like ??? Y'all need to check yourselves and stop preying on women and waiting for any slip-ups (which this was not!) just to drag them down. The worst thing is, they are the same people preaching supporting others and being kind and mental health awareness ! as if they aren't literally using things they know will really harm someone to bring them down
2016 affected taylor so bad and made her mental health worse and for them to be doing this again to AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD TEENAGE GIRL in 2021 is absolutely insane and unforgivable. this kind of fucked up behaviour is so constant and clear in the swiftie fandom, i mean the shit they have done this year is disgusting. first ginny and georgia scandal with the actress and then the chadwick boseman memorial post, and now shitting on a young new girl starting up in the music industry. olivia is not stupid, she doesnt want to make enemies and this is a fucking pr package and swifties are being disgusting abt it. i remember when they bullied selena and she had to delete her post.
not everything is about taylor, her friends have their own lives and swifties need to learn some respect . also im perfectly fine w u venting in my inbox, im here to listen !

while i do agree i find it ridiculous that swifties comment on artists they dont know acting like everyone doesnt know it. I don’t think its cause they dont listen to other artists i just think like their not musically knowledgeable about that type of music. Like i don’t know much about rap/hip-hop/r&b especially from the 90’s it would be dumb for me to be like “oh no one know so and so *artist*” but a lot of swifties are like 15 so i think for them their world view is the only one. Like I know so many people who don’t know that billie piper was an extremely popular pop artists in the UK before moving onto to acting. But yeah they need to stop being like “no one knows *so and so*”
Good point! And it's fitting that I just scrolled past an ask over at @heystephen where somebody rightfully pointed out that not everybody grows up with western artists and to call them "stupid" for that is... rude and unnecessary. And that is true! It makes sense for teenagers or people from countries where english music isn't the norm to not know who certain people are and there is nothing wrong with that. You can survive without knowing who Damon Albarn is. It isn't vital information. However, I think what I personally (and I think a lot of people who express similar opinions as well) take issue with/find annoying is the way a good amount of Swifties treat their lack of knowledge about an artist as a sign that they are irrelevant or untalented. There is a difference between "who is that lol?" and "ugh why is this irrelevant nobody coming for Taylor". Saying "respect your elders!!!" in this context is a little dramatic, I'll admit that, but to some extent it's true. And it's also bizarre to me that some people think Taylor would react this way to somebody who does not have any merit in the industry. There is a smugness in the way not knowing about a different artist is presented in the fandom and it can be a bit embarrassing when you act like not knowing who Damon Albarn is a sign that he doesn't matter and not that you might not know him because his career peaked before you were born or you don't listen to britpop. Which, again!, is fine, but it doesn't mean that the man has never contributed anything of value to music. Musical quality and impact can't really be measured in how relevant or well known a person is on stan twitter in 2022 - swifties are just spoiled because for them, it is kind of true.

Wow you're really fucking annoying LMAO
you know youre a masterclass on white fragility. you see a post that is about racism and makes a good point and find the one least charitable interpretation in order to turn it into an attack, because instead of sitting and listening, everything has to he a debate.
i still dont know who you and your friend are. all i know is that original twitter thread made a very good point very, very poorly, and white people, who never have to think about this stuff, missed it entirely and placed the blame on the bands specifically. then someone explained that the blame being put on the bands was wrong because they were far from right wing, because the original post was poorly worded, and i watched as people kept adding tags and making other posts about that one completely missing the point. that the music of the late 00s and early 10s before the advent of streaming was a case of manufactured consent to discredit black art. that it was systemic, not individual. that none of these bands asked to be part of this, but they were. so i made my own post, because frankly, the original made the point very poorly, completely fumbled doing so, making factual errors along the way.
and then someone took that post, specifically made separate from the other one so as not to be an attack on any of the people correcting misinformation, as some kind of vague, instead of as a black person talking about a very real issue in the music industry.
anyway thanks its on purpose.

Wanted to ask about beetlelyds, sorry, I thought it was technically cannon? Like in the old comics after the show ended she grew up and married him. Sorry I’m an old school fan and have no idea why this whole thing is such a big deal. Wasn’t the actor like 20 too? I’m sorry if I sound very dumb. I’m not used to this new tumblr.
youre fine you are one hundred percent allowed to especially when you do it civilly as you have done here
first of all the biggest issue faced in the whole what is and is not canon debate is the fact that there are three (four if you count the limited comics run) publicized iterations of my media
i will go over each very briefly just kidding this is going to a long answer so i will spare the dashboard with a readmore
there is the movie which im sure you dont need me to explain the plot since youre an old school fan but basically the climax is that yes beetlejuice does go for the marriage angle in exchange for stopping the exorcism of adam and barbara and his motive for this is so that he can cause as much chaos as he wants on the mortal coil but his plan is thwarted when barbara rides a sandworm into the house which promptly eats beetlejuice sending him to bureaucratic death limbo
the end of the movie features the deetz and the maitlands happily living together with lydia havign a new appreciation for her situation and beetlejuice gets his head made real small which is very funny haha
so no in the movie they are not canon editors note the actress who played lydia winona ryder was a teenager while filming the movie she turned 17 the year it released
the next is the cartoon which i will admit has the most grounds for being considered canon but in the end the show is about a middle schooler and her best friend who is a ghost which in itself is a pretty iffy gray area sort of thing but for a childrens cartoon to work a friendship is better than the obvious enemy status they held in the movie
anyway in the cartoon they are potrayed to be very close friends with lydia being the person beetlejuice cares about the most and honestly if you were to watch it with no prior knowledge of the media and if you ignored their massive and obvious age difference than yeah you probably would read it as a romantic relationship
however lydia is a middle schooler and that is simply immoral
there have been writers for the cartoon who have been credited to say that a relationship is what they were trying to invoke but for obvious reasons they couldnt exactly move forward with that angle with them establishing that lydia is a child in middle school and a fully grown adult man dating a child who is in middle school is immoral and also illegal in the united states and in canada
this isnt a good argument for whether or not something is canon and i will tell you why with one simple name and that is luke weber
if you dont know who luke weber is he was a storyboard artist on the cartoon steven universe he is known for making a lot of self ship artwork of him and the character pearl
he worked on the show isnt his material canon no of course it isnt it wasnt put in the actual publication and also if memory serves he was eventually asked to leave the project after he drew art of the shows creator giving him permission to date pearl and calling them her otp and a lot of fans hated this because the most generally accepted interpretation of pearls character is that she is sapphic so a lot of people took issue however that again is just a widely perceived headcanon it is never stated what her actual sexuality is no one in that show is because it isnt a show about that its about wait im getting off topic sorry
what im saying is what can truly be considered canon is what you see on the screen and with the cartoon they are definitely the most friendly with each other and that is why so many people in the beetlebabe shipping community take so much stock in the cartoon because it is the easiest to read the relationship between the mas romantic although that is not what the show actually provides in black and white terms
interpretation does not equal canon and in this case no matter what anyone says the fact remains that in the cartoon itself they are friends good friends yes but friends all the same
it is definitely not a show about a grown man grooming an adult and if it were you definitely shouldn’t be stanning it the extreme because grooming a minor is wrong and it is apparently a problem in the fandom
anyway if the cartoon and the movie are both products of their time and there was more leniency on content bear in mind this was the same era as notorious animation powerhouse and known predator john k who was a showrunner on ren and stimpy and he maintained a relationship with a teenager which was an open secret that nobody really took issue with because in that time being a woman in the animation industry was tricky business and your career could be ended easily if you rejected advances luckily time has moved forward and the animation industry although still full of problems of a similar nature at least people are getting called out and punished for it
you can look more into that yourself its really upsetting though
as for comics i havent been able to find good scans of them and im not willing to purchase them but in my search i never found anything about the two of them ever being married in the cartoon again because she is a child i did find a cover where he appears to be getting married and hes asking lydia to get him out of it but im not sure where the comic actually goes all i know is she is standing off to the side shrugging and looking like she doesnt really care
anyway that brings us to the musical which is set in the modern day
in the original libretto lydia is described as thirteen but since they got an actress who was older in the updated librettos she is listed as 15 and the story is pretty similar to the movie the young girl befriends ghosts and they try to scare her family out etc etc
the major difference between the film and the musical are that lydia and beetlejuice are more like friends like in the cartoon
she summons him to help scare after the maitlands attempt doesnt really work so he shows up and they have fun terrorizing people together however she drops him for the opportunity to perhaps get her mom back but when no one will help she goes back to beetlejuice who tricks her into almost exorcising barbara
she agrees to marry him in order to stop the exorcism and he only wants to get married so he can be alive again and cause problems on the mortal coil like in the movie in the musical he states several times its a green card thing whihc obviously doesnt make it okay but still
anyway lydia tricks him and runs off into the underworld before the wedding can happen blah blah blah she goes back blah blah and she agrees to go through with the wedding to save her friends and family with a plan to make him go away for good
theres a very tongue and cheek song called creepy old guy which points out how wrong the whole thing is but everyone is going along with it in a very comedic matter and it includes the line
i cant believe some cultures think this kind of things alright
basically saying yeah this is very very wrong anyway they do get married and beeltjeuice is alive for like 6 seconds before lydia stabs him to death with bad art and he dies thus nullifying the marriage because death do you part etc
so in the musical no at the end of the show they are not canon because he is dead their marriage is nullified and they go their separate ways
anyway sorry about that i just need to make it very clear that these three properties are all very distinct from each other and basically all three are indeed canon since they are publicized material and arguing the validity of which one is pointless editors note all actresses who played with the exception of dana steingold were minors for the majority of their runs as lydia with sophia ann caruso the originator of the role turning 18 during the run and dana being in her late twenties presley ryan however was a minor the whole time and still is one
tldr no they aren’t canon but to the credit of some people in this fandom their interpretation isnt too far of a stretch thanks to the era and some of the writers wishing to imply a relationship between an adult and a child
i also need to address how this is all a big deal and i suggest you take a peak through my discourse tag and check out @leedia‘s blog to see some of the more harmful things done by beetlebabe shippers
the beetlejuice fandom is home to many minors after the musical came out since musical fandom is vast and the ages of its members varies and normalizing pedophilia is harmful to them not to mention the people who have been effected by sexual harassment at the hands of adults
both sides have victims of csa but one side continues to perpetuate the cycle by showing time and time again that this behavior is normal and easily romanticized in the name of coping and literally anyone who has ever been to a good and credible therapist could tell you that posting cp even if it is simulated cp isnt a really good way to cope and you can get mad at me for saying that its totally fine but and im going to remove my character veil here for just a second as a csa survivor myself i think its harmful to not only myself but many others ok the veil is back down
tldr again there is a lot of bullying and harassment going on with both sides having their own issues but there is one side whos issues run a bit deeper in my humble opinion
thank you for your question it allowed me to talk a lot you are welcome to discuss further with me in dms if you wish i honestly recommend giving the musical a listen because it is very fun and despite what some people say its very clever and if you get a chance to see a boot of it its visually stunning
one last note that i couldnt really fit in here but a large portion of the beetlebabes shipping community ignore the musical because it openly condemns the idea of beeltejuice and lydia having a relationship and a lot of the antis take issue with much of the writing and characterizations of the cartoon just a note that i think is important since were talking about canon

@brokennecksfeatherweights said:    I dont have a lot of music stored on my computer anymore because i dont download or rip really but back in the day it was vital to keep up with labeling and metadata. There was a program to do it bulk but idr the name anymore. So for me it's spotify for ease and commuting/on the go and youtube and vinyl for everything missing there. (Have my cd's too in theory but i need a player now haha)
Yeah, and that’s the thing... with physical music I’m cool. I have my stuff. It’s the whole... streaming makes things EASIER.. that’s actually problematic for me.
Some of my biggest issues are:
I want to make playlists to post and for friends but the music is on multiple sites or just NOwhere but physical!!!
I want to listen to music on my laptop or my phone, but that limits me to just a select portion of my music that either spotify or tidal has, and I find I rarely listen to music from a place with access to my main HD.
They tout themselves as not needing to you to have a 4TB drive just for music anymore, it’s all on the cloud... but every week I go to check and I find more and more songs that WERE there are now gone.
That last one is the one that bothers me the most at times. I don’t have the best memory for music, especially as I like a LOT of music that no one I know has ever heard of .. literally... so it’s not like I can call up a buddy and say, hey... hey... what’s that one song with the lyrics I can’t fucking understand... you know... the early 80s punk one ... or... that really cool electronic industrial dark shit I heard 2 weeks ago... I liked it... and played it like 10 times... but i cant find it anywhere now?!?!?!?!
This excel spreadsheet will help with that a lot I think... but ... nothing helps with #1.... I just don’t know of a solution to number 1. :\
Thats why physical mixtapes were so much easier and cooler... Here.. listen to this... you’ll probably hate it... but it’s because I love you dude!!!!!!
