#my art#this is how I think theyd present themselves either in person or in headspace. the slouchers <3#sifs outfit is simple; the boots i always give them (but with star laces for funsies); loose sweater; simple pants#the pants are Meant to be jeans but isat doesnt Specifically Have Jeans so. theyre just Pants.#the sweater is slightly looser bc sif doesnt seem like a Form Fitting Clothes kinda guy to me but hes Trying to be more open#on particularly good days theyll roll the sleeves up or wear a sleeveless one methinks#even if everyone Knows abt the self-harm scars its hard to Look at them.#i also associate them being more open with them not wearing an eyepatch. esp bc hes the only one of the three to go without it#for mal (or 'ami' as i like to call it) i wanted smth reminiscent of a mourning outfit bc mal du pays means homesickness#and i picked 'ami' as a nickname bc ami means friend :] at least according to my basic translator. i dont speak french <3#ami's outfit being dark is also reminiscent of the inversion thing its got going on in canon.#ik the veil is starred in the original but i think ami would want the fewest reminders of home. on account of The Issues#(actually if i can come back to sifs laces sif also has issues with reminders of it bc of the memory loss but the shoelaces are His Choice—#—which gives them a form of control over it and they can keep it subtle or undo it if he wants. which makes it easier)#anyway. i put amis hair in an updo and smoothed the hat bc i think ami wants to be Unremarkable. my workload this year is absolutely absurd (1.5x as much hw time as class time in maths, and since it’s double maths i have 8hrs of lessons weekly so that is A Lot, and probs as much hw time as class time in french and bio, but then i put extra time into bio myself). so i would expect to be deeply unhappy about this. but i’m not and i’m actually quite enjoying it. which is odd.
i guess it makes sense though. it has always been that in my spare time, i work on my hyperfixationy stuff, making notes on random crap or working on flute; i have never done nonworking free time stuff like watching tv (except going on tumblr ofc). and now a good half-odd of my school work is hyperfixation stuff. so i am, strangely enough, thriving under these conditions
#im like a specialised deep sea creature that thrives in hostile environments#and just kind of goes bleh and dies in non hostile environmemts#like im not complaining but you would think i would be miserable in these conditions#hmm#im not lying to myself or anything i am just genuinely extremely happy living like this#workaholic ig#almost all of bio puts me in Hyperfixate mode and a good third / half of maths does and a little of french does#french is simultaneously the easiest and hardest of my three subjects 🤔#it has come to my attention that the speaking exam will pose issues not because i dont speak french#bc my spoken french is actually extremely good if i may say so myself#but because i am autistic and a very poor and rambly conversationalist who tends to get Stuck on one topic#and in this exam they actually want me to be succinct and coherent. meanwhile ive gone off on a tangent and suddenly fallen silent#because i dont know the french word for marital rape (the question had nothing to do with marital rape)#so im gonna have to do some self training for that i fear 😂#siph speaks#im doing it now tbh. i went on a tangent about french speaking#because i have been stuck in the topic of french speaking since yesterday#and have talked about nothing else#snd these tags are way too long but knowing that doesn’t stop me#i get STUCK like a RECORD going over the same bit of music#schoolposting

bahh i want to chat about learning french but its kind of difficult. like either its super uninteresting to most people or i feel like i can come off as pretentious or whatever if im not careful and noo im just excited to both play videogames and learn a language. im literally a nerdd. anyway im going to make a post on that
#idk ive come to realise that im lowkey boring lmao#problem is i tend to have these massive interests that last for either 6 months or a year before i completely move onto the next shiny thin#like a couple years ago it was guitar#a while back it was stage lighting#now its french#smaller ones have been rats fish woodworking balloon animals musicals 3d modelling urban planning ect ect ect#and theres a part of me that always worries that im going to do the same with french#i was learning spanish but i had to give it up for french#the few constant interests in my life have been m1n3craft and drawing#but im never really hyperfixated on drawing in fact my best improvement occurs when im not focused on it lmao#idk point is i dont want to loose hope on french because i know how long it takes to learn and because the feeling of working towards it is#the best#but when your interests change so much and so dramatically it can feel like those that are most important to you are slipping away from you#idk this wasnt what i was expecting to talk about#though i do know that my siblings also go through interest phases like this dramatically so its probably not just a me thing

i don't know if fishman island era sanji is genuine flanderization or im somehow giving him too much and too little credit at the same time. and maybe i was just frustrated that he regressed so bad after two years on Gender Island when i erroneously assumed (after watching iva + co at impel down express that queerness is as close to the ultimate ideal of freedom that one piece is about as you can get) that he would be better for the experience. and i know im going to turn around on him by the time i get to whole cake island but literally brother can we cut this shit out lmao

it is insane to me how often people get so up in arms about "historical accuracy" when it comes to characters of colour in historical fiction and historical inspired fantasy LIKE i know why. i know why. its because of racism. BUT LIKE how is this not super interesting to you. how is a racialized character living in a largely historically ethnically homogeneous area not the most intriguing thing. dont you want to see their experiences as a minority and as an individual and how they navigate this all and how it affects their relationships with friends and foes? plus that usually puts them in an underdog position and dont you want to see an underdog make it? or is an underdog not worth rooting for the second their skin is too dark for you?? come on man

the people at the archives nationales want to see me dead but i also found out they built a stand at the notre dame just so people can watch the cranes move and the builders walk around the scaffolding and that did brighten up my day
#it's so frustrating tho bc they have the most dumbass way of requesting archival records like#you have to go up to the desk and they give you a seat and tickets with the inventory numbers you requested#and every time you want to get one (1) box you need to give them the ticket with the number on it#and when you come to register and get your pass they need ur passport and you need to sign 5 million documents#but i requested a couple very important boxes when i was still in pre-registration i.e. had signed up on the website#but had not gone there to get my pass#and the boxes are RIGHT THERE attached to my name in the system. they can see it on their screens.#but they never gave me the tickets with the inventory numbers and now they refuse to give me the boxes#and every time i try to explain (but i have to think bc my spoken french is just not very good) they start talking to me in french#and then i dont understand them and they get annoyed with me and im like IF YOU'D JUST LET ME GATHER MY THOUGHTS#AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION. LIKE IM TRYING OVER HERE#and i kept saying 'je n'a pas reçu les tickets ce matin' but they just. ignored that. one woman looked at me all mad and just went#NO ticket NO box. but like in french. and im like WHY ARE YOU SO MAD JFC#every day in this place i have psych myself up to talk to people who visibly think im stupid as hell#curry rambles#ill try again tomorrow but i really don't want to go back on friday bc there's other things i want to see at the bibliothèque nationale
