“Huh?” Dean looked up from his bucket of chicken wings, grease smeared all over his face.

“Do you have to eat them? … I mean those?”

Dean slowly lowered the wing still in his hand. “Everything alright, Cas?”

“Yes, but …” His face looked very strained.

“You can tell me.” With a concerned look, he cleaned up his face with a napkin.

Castiel sighed. “It’s just … You devouring those poor chickens wings like that … It’s hard to watch.”

“Oh.” Something clicked in Dean’s brain. “I see.” He threw the napkin over the few chicken wings left in the bucket, so that Cas didn’t need to see them anymore. After Cas fell and his wings were broken, everything remotely concerning wings became a difficult topic.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t think …”

“It’s okay, Dean. I’m just … Just don’t eat them, when I’m around, maybe?”

“No,” Dean said as he was walking over to Cas. “I’m never eating them again. I swear.”

“Dean, you don’t have to …”

“But I do. I can’t eat them anymore now.”

“I’m sorry. I ruined hot wings for you,” Castiel said with sorrowful eyes.

As usual, I'm getting to this late, but I'm getting to it and that's what's important.

It's Never Enough - James moves on and gets himself a girlfriend, only to then hear Marlene teasing Lily about having a crush on him. It's full of pinning, longing, angst, and the like.

All I Want for Christmas is You - It just seems like an appropriate time to plug my hallmark christmas fic. Single!dad james is driving to his parents house with his young son, when his car breaks down outside of town. He gets a ride to town from Lily's dad and the rest is history!

we all want to kiss our friends sometimes - This is probably my most favorite fic that I've ever written. it's fem!jily and it's about how hard it is to realize that you've got a crush on someone when the way you have a crush on someone looks different than it does for the people around you. <3

Petalpocalypse - I co-wrote this with three wonderful people (@gryffindormischief @magic-girl-in-a-muggle-world and Abby, who's tumblr I can't find) and it's the most fun that I've ever had writing with others. It's the tropiest and loveliest, silliest, jily fic on the market, hands down.

Blind Dates and Good Graces - Mary is being very persistent about setting Lily up with someone on Reggie's football team, and Lily is not interested. Mainly because she might fancy her lab partner, James Potter.

Thanks for sending this to me! I tried to pick some fics that I don't always pick. I had completely forgotten about Blind Dates and Good Graces, but it's v cute and I like it. I almost always rec we all want to kiss our friends somtimes, but it's my fav and I can't help it lol

Stop me if this has been done before BUT i had another TUA intrusive thought: what if when the brellies were kids, they were assigned penpals from a children's hospital sick ward? Idk why this would happen; maybe RH did it for publicity OR Pogo suggested it bc it would be a charitable thing to do? Anyway, maybe not all of them, but at least some of them grow attached to their penpals since they've never had real friends. [details under the cut]

Luther is super enthusiastic and loves having someone he can have normal conversations with, he drops his 'leader' persona right away.

Diego thinks it's stupid, but then the kid gets under his skin in some way - like he feels their vulnerability - and lets himself acknowledge his own for the first time in his life (even if it's only internally).

Allison likes it for the attention at first, but her penpal doesn't give two shits about the 'famous Umbrella Academy' so it's humbling. Can she handle this feeling at a young age? Probably not.

Klaus loves it and has zany/nonsensical back and forths where the plot is always lost...maybe when he leaves the academy he even tracks them down. Do they meet? I don't know, but he at least wants to know how things turned out for them.

Five also thinks it's stupid...what a waste of time when he should be practicing his spatial jumps, right? But the other kid is smarter than he expected, and he gets frustrated when he realizes he misses the letters when they stop writing back. Was it because he was too rude to them? Did something happen? Are they okay? He thinks about them from time to time in the apocalypse.

Ben connects with his penpal right away, and even keeps writing them long after they're no longer 'expected to'. His penpal doesn't know what to do with the information that Ben died before them; they were the sick one after all.

Viktor gets a handful of names - these were the 'rejects' - the ones that didn't make the cut for the program, but Pogo hands him a list (RH has no clue about this) and tells him to pick one; Viktor takes them all. To his disappointment, only a couple of them write back. He assumes it's because he's not a member of the academy, but he maintains dutiful correspondence with those that did reply.

I reallyyy want to make a website or something for fiction podcasts/audio dramas where you can search for characters or voice actors and figure out where the hell you recognise their voice from. Because the audio drama world is very small and I keep finding more and more people I recognise

if we assume that each of the three pillars comes exactly three times for a total of nine times, and we know that the 7th time it was the 40-year guardian, and if we assume that was her final visit and the last two visits will be split between the 30-year guardian and the 8-year guardian, we can calculate how long ago the miharu family made that deal: (40x3)+(30x2)+(8x2)=196 years. 196 years ago it was 1828, but i think this is supposed to be set in the 1980s or 90s, so call it the late 1700s. that's the kind of thing matoba as the head of the matoba clan has to concern himself with - deals with youkai made by people 200 years ago from families that don't even exist anymore. it's an interesting contrast to the thing he says to natsume at the end of this arc, about the 9th visit, which is 30 years away, being someone else's problem. he's embroiled in the past but doesn't even think he'll get to have a future.

I'm really not vibing with whatever staff is doing now. Not only does there seem to be a total internal communication breakdown, there also seems to be an absolute disregard for how the players are affected by this.

Like, ignoring the fact that the consistency argument doesn't even hold water, their takeaway from the Fern/Paisley thread seems to have been "oh we gotta change Breakup and Hypnotic too!!"

And then completely reversing Sandsurge Blend on top of that? A gene that's been out for over half a year and was only listed as having the gradient softened, not reversed? Just a total failure to communicate and an absolute bullheadedness in pushing the changes through despite the very reasonable player concerns?

To top it all off, none of these are bug changes, they are style changes. Someone saw these genes before they went live, greenlighted them, and put them in the game. And now, months upon months later, someone else (presumably) says "fuck that, I want the gene to look like this instead" and that complete change is just... pushed through??

Like. Did they learn nothing from the Butterfly debacle, from Obelisk Flair, hell, from the Eyepocalypse?

What the fuck is going on behind the scenes?
