i've been compiling a bunch of maze runner headcannons over the past few weeks, and i decided to share what i have so far :) fyi most of these are ivytrio centered heheh ^_^ enjoy!!!

- newt would be a big oatmeal fan. he'd have it every day and put cubed fruits and maple syrup in it too. thomas prefers a plain toast with butter and always teases newt for "being an old coot"

- minho is rlly extra and likes to make these fancy pancakes that frypan taught him how to make

- newt would be addicted peach tea. every morning he goes to the convenience store and he buys a bottle before class

- newt loves bracelets and he made a matching pair for him and thomas :] (minho, newt, & thomas also have separate matching bracelets!)

- newt does poetry & art. he carries around a little sketchbook in his satchel where he jots random thoughts and sketches. his muse is thomas <3

- newt likes musicals & claymation/stop motion movies (his fav is dear evan hanson or kubo and the 2 strings) & thomas likes action movies (his favs are starwars or the spiderman movies)

- their fav movie to watch together is fantastic mr fox or coraline

- thomas and minho are both on their school's track team

- thomas downloaded duolingo as a joke but now he feels guilty if he misses even a single day so he has a daily streak of 479

- thomas almost threw up crying watching end game (he forced newt to watch it with him as well)

- thomas prefers calling/face timing over texting and he will do everything in his power to call

- he's also like the least coherent texter of all time He always has like 90 spelling errors in a 4 word text

- newt doesnt like calls but is also the driest texter of all time

- minho sends those corny Good Morning! gifs with a sunset in the background and glitter and flowers on it

- minho studies hard, passes his classes

- newt barely studies, passes his classes (hes just smart)

- thomas doesnt study whatsoever, passes his classes somehow

- when frustrated, minho gets really sassy, thomas gets snappy and fidgety, and newt just goes silent

- on minho's aforementioned morning runs, he BLASTS pop music thru his headphones. because of this he's literally almost deaf. he always goes "huh" "what?" "say again?" whenever talking to anybody but it especially makes newt so frustrated

- also. minho would love charli xcx SORRY I DONT MAKE THE RULES!!!! he really likes pop music because it gets him pumped up and energized

- when thomas is focused, his speech gets really curt and he kinda shuts the world out because hes so tunnel visioned. as a result people think hes just really rude and a pain to work with

- only newt can work with him effortlessly because they don't need words to communicate. a slight nose scrunch? thomas knows he made a mistake. quirk of the brow? newt nods his head to show his approval. thomas taps his fingers against the table? newt can tell he's frustrated. their relationship can be tacit but understood by one another which is why they work so well with each other

- thomas LOOOOOVES karaoke he literally will not hesitate to belt his heart out

- when thomas blushes, he blushes HARD. he gets really red in the face and gets super embarrassed and newt likes to tease him for it

- when drunk, thomas gets really chatty, newt becomes clingy, and minho turns into a whole nother person he gets SO rowdy and loud and crazy. life of the party kinda guy

•tim actually reads a bit and sometimes pony talks to him about books theyve read, curly teases that they have a lil book club

•tim has a tendency to ask curly “hows the curtis kid doin”, just to secretly catch up w him, he also asks this to darry when they catch up at bucks bar

•i think ignoring whatever the fuck darry and tim have, he finds pony to be the most interesting curtis brother, at the very most one of the most interesting person hes met in general cause ponys different from everyone else

•ok so technically tim is still enrolled in school and actually does show up VERY rarely and he has some elective classes w pony (those classes where ppl from different grades r in the same class) and tim always sits w pony

•partially bc ponys the only mf he knows there but also to serve as a bodyguard bc ponys pretty small compared to everyone else

•at some point they started doing fistbumps to great each other and pony felt like he unlocked a character w that😭😭

•tim would see some doodles of curly in ponys sketchbook and he KNEW curly and pony were gettin together at some point, tim was like one of the first ppl to realize, he just gave pony a look of “hmmm” and pony nearly shit himself

•tims saved pony from being jumped and hes just,,,carried pony to the car to get him home, and pony was honestly more astonished at that for a bit than being jumped for a sec

•second time pony ever drank was bc tim told him to bc pony got hurt and tim said it would make it hurt a bit less while he was patching him up which, wasnt TOO off but its not bc the alcohol rlly helped pony was just focused on the taste more than anything

•ik i say pony stares at tim and it freaks tim out at times but tim b starin too and pony feels like tims accessing him, he jokes w curly that tims a walking lie detector

•yknow what i think tim wouldve visited pony at the hospital if he was hurt that badly, maybe even got him a lil gift like a switchblade “to replace the other one” or whatever, hes a fucked up guy what can i say

•nobody rlly knows it, but after everything that happened, tims got some guys watching over pony to make sure no soc’s try to get their “revenge” or whatever

Screw it headcanons I have for Owen Carvour based on my own experiences as a Lefty because it's my turn on the "project onto your hyperfixation" talking stick.

He hates round doorknobs. I'm sure he probably doesn't have nearly the same hellish experiences I do with them but they still are the least effective type of doorknob, especially for lefties because of the weird way you have to turn your hand to open them. (Seriously, I've been stuck standing infront of doors with them for 5 minutes at some occasions because they don't have clear indicators of how far you need to turn them and it's very awkward to do with your left hand. Why do they exist. Stop making them.)

I really like the headcanons that Owen isn't religious, and I'd like to add onto this. Being left handed was very stigmatized against prior to the 70s, and this was especially the case within the Church, even today. A lot of naturally born lefties I know are ambidextrous or right handed today because of family ties to the church when they were younger that forced that on them. I was told by some of the caretakers when I was about 7 that I'd "never go to heaven because I was a left handed spawn of the devil." I can see Owen being raised religious and leaving it in his adulthood and it's why he's able to use his right hand fairly well on spy missions (and subsequently DMA), or attempting to outright refuse going because of this sort of normalized treatment and stigma.

Owen absolutely has a favorite brand of ballpoint pen because it's ink dries quickly so it doesnt smudge and get all over his hand and clothes when he writes. And he absolutely carries around multiple of these pens everywhere he goes and only uses them. You might think "oh its so people can't take fingerprints or something from the pen" but no its cause he doesn't like how smeared ink looks because it feels unprofessional. After Curt figured it out I feel like he'd probably carry around a box of it in his own go bag incase Owen's ever ran out but insisted it was because he liked the grip or something. (it was such a rarity he completely forgot he had them. Guess what he finds 4 years later among his things when he decides to get back into being a spy again.)

Continuing the headcanon that Owen draws and has his own sketchbook, and at a glance it's not difficult for Curt to tell among casual clothes which ones are his and which ones are Owen's, because Owen's have a bit of a shiny sheen to the left wrist sleeve from all the graphite and charcoal that gets absorbed into it. Owen hates it because of how difficult it is to get those stains out and Curt finds it funny when he fusses about it.

Owen hates it when people point out he's left handed, even in jest. Not only because hes a spy and does not need the added attention, but because it makes him feel like a zoo animal for people to gawk at, or some strange oddity on display. The only exception to this is if it's a kid pointing this out, especially if the child is Lefty too and excited about not being the only one. He won't outwardly show it, but he melts inside because he didn't get a lot of those interactions growing up either (if at all) and if it helps a kid feel a bit more normal then so be it.

There's probably more I'll add onto this but for now have these hehe.

Headcanons

Mostly listens to like, rock music and sad boy indie music. Every song on Zeldas playlist is in his liked songs.

(I saw someone draw him in a shirt that said 'Mithril Maiden' on it which i assume is the like, in-universe version of Iron Maiden and it is his favorite band)

Enjoys to sew and embroider. Also made about a hundred thousand of those little woven friendship bracelets after Kristen taught him some designs.

All of his stuff is covered in stickers, patches, and pins.

Transmasc Demiboy & Bisexual

He's been gauging his ears since the 7th grade (theyre at a 12mm) and he got his septum peirced in the 8th grade. He gets a vertical labret when they're in Leviathan.

In the Thistlespring tree, way up in the branches, Gorgug has a hammok tied up and a small table built onto the tree. During summer break, he can spend full days up in the hammok listening to music and drawing or making/tinkering with something.

Replaced his shoelaces with those fancy stretchy ones so he can slip his shoes on and off easier.

Farsighted

Gorgugs sketchbook and journal are one book, so people dont often see his drawings. He doesnt carry the book around with him, in exclusively lives in the shoebox under his bed, along with a small collection of cassette tapes, condoms (his parents insisted) a lighter, some cool heart-shaped pebbles Zelda gave him, and the last of the duskmoss from the nightmare forest.

Hasnt cut his hair since 7th grade and has no intention of doing so any time soon.

The white streaks in his hair are more prominent, laced all through the front half of his hair and down through his right eyebrow.

He likes to get stoned and do yoga like, once or twice a week. It helps with mindfulness and self-grounding.

(dont tell anyone but he usually finishes his routine up with a good shower cry as a way to release that pent up anger- doing yoga helps bring those emotions to the surface in a healthy way so that he can expel them after).

Really, really likes grilled cheese and carrot sticks.

i wish i could stop regretting the way i used my time at university. it doesnt feel like i spent three years there, but i know i did, wherin i made no lasting friends, i joined no societies, i didnt grow as a person (except i became sadder as i realised i was sinking my money into a degree i wasnt good enough to utilise out in the real world) and i generally just stagnated in. i didnt understand where a lot of the resources were located. i never really understood how to structure a sketchbook to provide evidence of a creative journey in order to hit my academic goals. i never got into the swing of working on my course regularly so i didnt do it all at the last moment. i didnt manage to stay focussed enough on one project in order to carry it to completion across a semester/year. and i realise this was my fault, but nobody around me seemed to be struggling, and i asked for help a couple of times but when i still didnt understand i was so ashamed of being too stupid to get it that i just fell so behind in my work that i never managed to pace myself in order to reach my goals. the first few days of freshers were so overwhelming that i didnt commit to clubs and then was too embarrassed to join in later.

i just. i wish i had done more. all i have from that time is debt and a degree that was graded higher than i deserved because of covid and i dont like thinking about it.

and yet for some reason i still wish i could go back and do a masters haha

"officially" it doesnt have a name and can only be referred to with whatever pronouns i decide right now its it but secretly her name is jjen but only i am allowed to say jjen or use she her . she was made sometime between feb 19-28 in 2016. she is completely blank no markings because her entire purpose was to be easy and likable to draw. and so her features have kindof changed overtime with drawing preferences. her like Actual Official fur color is copy paper. because in 2016 i was only just starting to do digital art and mainly carried around a fuckign clipboard with copy paper on it to draw . idk what i had against sketchbooks LAWL.

The pokemon gymsona uquiz i took the other day keeps rotting my mind...so some bs fun facts about my Assigned Bug Gymsona I unfortunately have grown attached to

-first pokemon was Ariados (then a little Spinarak). Panicked when spinarak first appeared climbing down from a tree, but calmed down after seeing her smiley face and thought it was cute

-didnt want to be a BUG gymleader, they are scared of bugs after all. Since my dream monotype is Dark they probably went to some creepy places to find those but came across bugs instead. Catched them to fill the pokedex but grew attached to...with some wishful thinking that maybe having them would help them get over their fears (delusional)

-team consists of Ariados, Scizor, Leavanny, Beautifly, Ribombee and Joltik

-Leavanny is the strongest on the team followed prolly by Scizor. Can't decide if Leavanny or Ariados would be their star pokemon tho

-One of the first gym leaders trainer newbies fight; the one you beat the shit out of and then doesnt really contribute much to the story after that.

-their gym doesnt have puzzles but they DO have contraptions to explore the whole place, and is heavily thematically decorated (like Bugsy gym)

-can craft pokeballs out of Apricorns. Was OBSESSED with them, managed to get Kurt to teach them the craft. Will craft apricorn pokeballs for any trainers that ask, and also gifts them to newbies that visit the gym

-scared shitless of joltik, whom likes to crawl over them (they DO think hes cute but that doesnt change their arachnophobia. Also tiene los colores de Bokita como no quererlo)

-located either on Johto or Teselia and has connections to the other region

-they go to the forest to draw on the sketchbook they always carry. Thats how they met most of their bug buddies

-likes contests! Gets mad if people imply they shouldnt participate with their bug pokemon because 'they are gross'. Likes making little treats for their buddies.

-even if their bugphobia is wellknown and always looks stressed out, they will always talk wonders about bug pokemon. They sometimes even appear with newer bug pokemon they catched or got from an egg

Katya facts

Katya likes sketching/drawing and painting, specifically watercolor and grayscale type sketches. She has multiple sketchbooks and even carries a small one with her.She can also play piano! And write her own arrangements. Probably one of the ONLY good things Vera taught her.

She has OCD,  Katya’s room is probably the most organized thing ever, and then she’ll panic if someone comes in and switches where her stuff is because she KNOWS the whole setup by heart. you could move a plush to the side and she’ll be like “who tf messed up my organization”. she doesnt care if someone goes into her room as long as they make sure everything is EXACTLY the way it was.

She has a pet baby deer named Mila (Мила), which means “dear” or “graceful” in Russian. She found Mila almost dead on a mission for the World Serpent and brought it home like “Dad! Look I adopted a deer. She’s my baby now.”  Due to the fact that Mila was found in a Hollow Corrupted zone, she’s grown very small antlers that grow almost like a male deer.

Katya loves to decorate Mila’s little antlers with flowers and ribbons. She sometimes makes small flower crowns for her and takes pictures of her deer posing. She secretly dreams of painting Mila in a fantasy setting, like a mystical forest with glowing lights.

To deal with her OCD, she carries around small, neatly written checklists in her pocket. They help her feel in control when she’s in unfamiliar situations. Sometimes, she’ll doodle little stars or flowers next to tasks she’s already done to make them feel more rewarding.

Katya also likes to design outfits! She has a whole sketchbook dedicated to these designs, and another smaller one in case she’s out when she gets struck by inspiration. She also has a whole bookshelf full of used or in use sketchbooks because she has separate books for different things. One specifically for outfits, another for nature drawings, etc.

She learned how to make clothes, so she has made small things like scarves and such for Mila to wear. She has a whole drawer dedicated to stuff for Mila.  Katya spends an absurd amount of time perfecting her drawings, not because they aren’t good, but because she’s so meticulous. If a single line is off in her sketches, she’ll erase it until it feels just right. Sometimes, this leads to her staying up all night working on a single piece.

She has a ritual of drinking tea before drawing or playing piano. She has a special tea set that she cleans and arranges meticulously, ensuring the teacup, teapot, and spoon are all in their designated places. She has favorite tea blends that she picks out based on her mood.

Katya sometimes communicates her feelings through music rather than words. When she’s struggling to express herself or feeling particularly emotional, she’ll sit down at the piano and play, using her melodies as a form of silent communication.

Whenever Oscar travels around and such, he usually brings back something like a snow globe or a doll/marionette from the location for Katya to add to her large collection.

will finds himself painting a lot lately. due to their, er, current situation, it was hard to find the best art materials, but he guesses it was a perfect opportunity to try out more sketching just to get it out of his system.

he sits on an empty bench near hawkins high, currently waiting for mike to finish his volunteering shift. mike actually asked him to stay with him, but he insisted he needed some fresh air alone. he tried to ignore mike’s hurt puppy expression and the somber way he said ‘oh, okay.’ as he requested it.

he didnt know what he was drawing. he practically had two full pages full of scribbles that amounted to nothing, that it led him to exhale out of frustration. he places the crumpled pages close to him so he makes sure to properly throw it later. he hated not being able to make things. it was the only way to keep him distracted from his thoughts, but his mind just decided…not to cooperate. the brain’s funny like that. will’s brain is funny like that. he had the biggest art block since the entire world ended and all that could occupy his mind was his stupid unrequited crush. so sue him for not making the creative juices flow enough.

that is, until he sees a particular guy at his proximity. he looked like a student, and he was talking with his friends. he seemed cheerful, a bright spirit with the way his laugh projects from where will was sitting. long, curly hair brunette, with kind eyes. he was wearing an oversized polo with that was effortlessly tucked into his shorts. if will was staring any longer like a creep, he could have sworn he saw piercings under his nose too.

and before will knew it, will draws a stroke, then two. it didnt take long until he was drawing a wisp of the boy’s hair, building it up. absentmindedly, his hands begin to move on its own as he puts in a couple of short strokes in a certain area. the lines lead to a nose with a strong bridge. he transitions to putting quite some detail in the subject’s lips, and then the kind eyes will took in great detail of.

just a couple of details, some subtle shading and… done.

will marvels at his new creation, and he found it hard not to stare. mostly because he couldnt believe he was capable of drawing something this good. he believed at least, that it was enough to capture this person’s beauty, that was worth something. and even if he’s the only one he’d think that, he’ll hold it close. he lets himself be proud of this one.

‘’tsk. damn, i knew i was attractive, but…’’

will jumps at the voice behind him. as if on instinct, he swiftly fumbles to close his sketchbook and set it aside. his head darts from his sketchbook, to the guy behind him.

and after a few short glances, will concludes this is not just some guy. this was the guy who he was just fucking sketching in public and now he has no idea how to get out of this situation that doesnt make him seem like a creep.

but he also found it rude to leave the guy hanging overall. he takes a deep breath. whats the harm in digging the grave a bit deeper?

‘’h-hey, uh.. listen about this...i dont normally do this. draw like this in public.’’ will manages to croak out. smooth.

the boy’s kind eyes smile. ‘’but im just soo handsome that i broke that habit out of you? im flattered.’’

‘’i-im sorry, i didnt mean to freak you out. let me just..’’ will stammers, in the process of tearing out the paper where the sketch is. before he starts to crumple it, the boy suddenly holds will’s hand. will knew it was to stop him, but the fact a boy is holding his hand thats not a threat in any way is making his brain short circuit a bit.

‘’before you do that..can i see it?’’ the boy asks earnestly. will could only stare, incredulous. ‘’come on, its my face. i at least have a right to see it.’’

‘’it-it’s not really that good.’’

‘’ill be the judge of that.’’ he smirks, and gently takes the sketch off of will’s hands. he leaves him with a flirtatious smirk leaving will flushed.

he then turns his gaze onto the paper and continues to look at it for what seemed like an eternity for will. he scans his face for a reaction, but it looked like the boy was still making his final verdict.

will was dying. he didnt know why he cared about the opinion of this boy so much, but he did. hell, something must have possessed him, because the last time he drew a boy he found pretty was mike wheeler and he was basically his muse. he felt like he was betraying mike somehow, even if he never actually told mike he was the constant subject of a of his paintings.

will wanted to jump off a cliff from this humiliating revalation.

‘’you’re amazing,’’ the boy’s booming voice brings will back to reality. ‘’i love the way you shade. you brought out my features so well in a way thats you. like from this piece alone, i can tell what your distinctive art style is, and that is insanely difficult to pull off. you should be proud!’’

will finds himself at a loss of words from the sudden compliment. he has no doubt his face is as red as an apple right now. all he could do was nod rapidly, and mutter a simple thanks. the boy attempts to flip a page, only to look back at will with a look asking for approval. will nods again to accept. one person looking at his sketchbook couldnt hurt, right?

..until he reaches the forbidden page where its full of mike drawings. he feels his cheeks glow red again, heart rate beating. he cant believe he forgot that was even there. this is why he doesnt let people see his stuff! its all of his feelings in one page!

however, he wasnt met with a look of disgust. just curiosity, and softness. ‘’these are all great. i can see youve been experimenting with a lot of mediums here; acrylic, charcoal. have you tried oil?’’

‘’oh.. yeah. oil is a little new for me. im meaning to get better at it though.’’

‘’good. its good to be an all rounder.’’ the boy says enthusiastically as he flips more pages, the beaming look of genuine awe never leaving his face. more pages of his sketches of mike show up, and will intends to coil himself into a ball until he shrinks to nonexistence.

‘’i notice you draw this guy a lot. is he someone you like?’’

will freezes.

the boy closes the sketchbook, waving his hands in the air. ‘’no, no, shit! um…dont worry. dont worry, okay? fuck, i keep forgetting it’s…’’ the boy sighs. will starts to get confused at his reaction. why was he taking this so strongly?

‘’im…i didnt mean to scare you. its just.. im.. i mean, if you are..’’ the boy continues to stammer, and will feels himself lean closer.

could he also be..?

‘’m-my boyfriend. im an artist too, actually. and i tend to draw him a lot.’’ he finally lets out, his hand gently caressing will’s sketchbook and brings it back to him. ‘’its normal.’’

‘its normal.’

its normal.

will repeats it to himself like a mantra.

will holds out a breath he didnt know he was holding. he smiles widely. god, hes actually meeting someone who’s just like him. unfortunately taken, but wow.

we do exist.

‘’well..he’s not my boyfriend though.’’ will mutters, playing with the spirals on the top of his sketchbook. his smile drops once he says it. ‘’mike-his name is mike- has a girlfriend. well, had a girlfriend.’’

‘’oh fuck.’’

‘’.. who just so happens to be my sister.’’

‘’oh fuck.’’

will finds himself smiling at his reaction. yeah, he knows his situation’s the worst, but at least he can get a kick out of how people are taking it. ‘’yep.’’ he replies popping the ‘p’ at the end.

‘’im sorry, man.’’

‘’its okay. all i wanted was for us to be best friends again. but lately, i feel like…we aren’t anymore.’’

‘’why do you say that?’’

will still finds it strange and shocking how he’s openly telling someone about his definitely not straight feelings to a stranger, but in all honesty he never felt safer in his life. so he finds it in himself to continue.

‘’i-i don’t know,’’ will scoffs. ‘’i don’t even know what i did. we’re at such a.. weird stage in our friendship right now that i dont even know what we are. first he ignores me for her, now when he broke up with her, hes running back to me spouting about he wants to be friends, and now hes gone back to fixating over her and ignoring me again. like… i feel like’s playing with me. and i hate myself for it. i should get angry, but all i can do is accept when he runs back to me, even if its so unfair. because unfortunately, ive been in love with this stupid guy for as long as i can remember, and i feel stuck.’’

will presses his lips to a line, and closes his eyes. before he knew it, tears slowly started to come down. and now he’s crying to a stranger. great! ‘’sorry. i never.. met someone like me before, so this is..’’

‘’dont apologize, alright man? i get it,’’ the boy says as he gently rubs will’s back. ‘’this is huge for me too.’’

‘’how did you know? weren’t you worried i was going to..be disgusted, or something?’’ will asks.

he shrugs. ‘’i dont know. there’s something about you. about me. we just know, right?’’

will wipes his tears and sniffs. ‘..yeah. right.’’

‘’and concerning your friend…’’ the boy smiles gradually. ‘’don’t give up.’’

‘’what?’’

‘’after what you told me? something tells me its.. not over between you two.’’

before will could inquire any more, a gentle but tight grip lands on his shoulder. he turns around, it was mike. ‘’hey, sorry for the wait. you good?’’

‘’oh, yeah.’’ will turns to the boy with kind eyes with a big grin. ‘’im really glad i met you.’’

the boy grins back. ‘’me too! is there any way we can keep in touch?’’

‘’yeah! yeah, let me just..’’ will tears a small piece of paper from his sketchbook and starts writing his number down. before he could continue, he turns to mike with an apologetic look. ‘’sorry for this mike, give me 2 minutes.’’

‘’sure, whatever.’’ mike says flatly, not even looking at will. he was crossing his arms, his demeanor all grumpy.

okay, weird. did something happen back in the school?

will finishes writing the number and gives it to the boy. ‘’this is at the wheeler’s place, but we’re just staying over there. you can just ask for me.’’

‘’i mean i would, but i dont even know your name.’’

before will could open his mouth, mike takes over for him. ‘’his name is will. what’s yours?’’

what seemed like an innocent question sounded very threatening and condescending to everyone else.

he squints before answering. ‘’my name’s ty. yours?’’ he asks rather teasingly. will is so lost, because ty is looking at mike like he’s an open book, and he knows the chapters like the back of his hand.

‘’mike. mike wheeler.’’ he extends his arm for a handshake. ty reaches out to accept it but once he reached a glimpse of contact, mike pulls back immediately as if he was burnt. ty doesnt seem too bothered though. if anything, he feels like he was expecting that. ‘’ahhh.. so you’re mike.’’ ty says with one side of his lips curving upward.

will felt the tension rise. he did not like it.

mike clears his throat. ‘’will, we need to go. curfew, remember?’’

‘’since when did you care about curfew?’’ will smirks.

‘’i don’t,’’ mike rolls his eyes. ‘’honestly, i just wanna go home.’’

‘’okay, okay.’’ will obliges. he takes one last look at ty, who was giving the two a knowing look as they walk away. again, weird. what the hell does ty know about them after a 10 minute conversation?

he then turns back to mike whose back was more slumped than usual, walking a little faster than will. will jogs up to catch up to him.

‘’so, how was your shift?’’ will asks awkwardly.

‘’it was fine.’’

‘’..mike, did something happen? because you seem a little…’’

‘’im fine, will.’’

‘’..okay.’’

the atmosphere was very tense now, and will didnt want to escalate it further than it has. he knew mike was already drifted away, and he did not want to make it more complicated. he got the message, theyre not that close anymore. done.

but mike suddenly stops in his steps, which makes will do the same. ‘’mike?’’

‘’will.. did you.. draw him?’’

will has been turning red a lot today lately. ‘’w-what?’’

‘’that.. guy. did you draw him?’’

‘’i.. did. did you see that?’’ will yells at himself, beating himself up internally for drawing in public, for putting his heart out on his sleeve. curse one cute guy for making him submit. he feels mike walk closer to him. his heart beats rapidly. this was it. he was mentally preparing for mike to hate him, tell him he’s disgusting, and that he never wants to see him again.

‘’do you draw me?’’

‘’what?’’

‘’i know you draw me with the rest of the party, with.. dnd stuff but..’’ now it was mike’s turn to fumble in his words and mannerisms, and will has no fucking idea on why, but by god was it adorable to watch.

‘’i just wanna know if you drew me too. like, just me. portraits, you call it?’’

after what you told me? something tells me its.. not over between you two.

it was that one recalling of a conversation that made will feel a little bit bold that day. ‘’..yeah. lots of times, actually.’’ will looks down with a shy smile on his face.

‘’good.’’ mike whispers.

‘’huh?’’

‘’fuck. nothing. um…okay. cool.’’

‘’yeah.. cool.’’

‘’will you be drawing him more than..me?’’

will cannot believe what he’s hearing right now. did the universe just decide to fuck with him today? is he getting targeted right now? a sick, cruel joke?

will doesn’t think so, because all he sees right now is mike. the mike he misses. the mike who talks to him all gently, who’s himself. nervous, wreck of a human being mike wheeler. mike wheeler, the love of his life. forever the subject of his paintings.

will looks up at mike, and their eyes lock.

‘’not possible.’’
