... and the association of Vic with Beckett...
There's this thing about associating a woman with a man. Whatever happens, there is like a transference of hate to the woman and love to the man.
Men already get less hate doing something worse than women and more love when doing something minimally decent. The way the narratives are framed on the show don't help.
The choice to - make Maya give Beckett the bottle shifted the blame to her, absolving him. Somehow to some, she became the worst person on the show and whatever she did was her personal unique moral failings. Beckett's long list of poor choices made throughout his captaincy that endangered himself, his team n civilians... The resolution was merely his voluntary stint at rehab. Oh and quietly demoted. No mention of his wrongdoings again. Everyone's just fine with him already. Just like how they accepted his bad behavior right from the start.
The choice to - make Vic to not notice maya's distress and say those words about her, a longtime friend and teammate while being hyper aware of Beckett's state and being especially empathetic towards him.
I hope the speculation isn't true. It'll be a disservice to Vic as a character. It's the use of a well-liked female character to redeem a disliked male character.
On a show where already
... the men don't really need to work on themselves - the characters around them simply lower their standards to accommodate.
... toxic masculinity is conflated with addiction/ mental health issues,
... the men's addiction and wrongdoings - related or not to the addiction, are systemic issues - of the healthcare system failing Sullivan or an inter-generational alcohol problem trapping Beckett
I'm all for the empathy for the struggle with addiction n underlying issues but against using them as excuses to not hold people accountable for bad behavior.

this is the stupidest crossover possible but I want Tim to make House his doctor
yes that House
why? He needs someone who is very good, will not give up or send Tim out to a different specialist just because his medical condition is difficult, will not be overly concerned about the danger Tim puts himself in, and will lie on Tim's medical records AND to Batman/Bruce Wayne/all of the Bats without hesitation or fear.
House is and will do all of those things without hesitation. He has no shame, no boundaries, he WILL get into a public fight with Bruce Wayne if it means keeping that man out of his patient's (and House's) business. He will help Tim lie to and gaslight the rest of his family without hesitation.
in exchange, Tim is his favorite patient. Not because they get along, necessarily, Tim is a know-it-all little shit and they constantly bicker and House hates how practically every facet of Tim's existence is a lie (and Tim thinks House is a smug know-it-all jackass who is needlessly cruel and callous bc he thinks the world owes him and never delivers just bc he's in pain, news flash a lot of people are in pain and manage not to be assholes) BUT, 1, Tim brings him really interesting cases and problems, and 2, Tim NEVER lies to House about his medical conditions or what he was doing when they happened.
He lies about literally almost everything else under the sun TO everyone else, but he is 100% completely upfront and honest about his medical history and what is going on with him with House.
admittedly it takes a while for House to realize Tim ISN'T lying to him because some of the shit he says is completely insane ("the vigilante thing is pretty obvious but what do you MEAN you got the Apocalypse virus TWICE, AND SURVIVED, AS A FOURTEEN-FIFTEEN YEAR OLD")
but once he realizes Tim doesn't ever lie to him, he becomes House's favorite patient because at least TIM gives him all of the data he needs as best he's able the moment he asks. At least House doesn't have to waste his time following up on bogus information or figuring out the truth, he can just get right into the meat of the medical issue at hand.
also it's so fun to lie directly to Batman's face, know the man knows, and know he can't do anything about it

I imagine Vasco and Ludovica have a big painting (portrait but with two people) in Vasco's house (probably his father insisted of getting one of these, people used to do it in the old days, especially wealthy ones). While it's very serious and formal, in the way all these portraits were, it is also very intimate (at least it's implications). I imagine Machete just staring at it sometimes, feeling small while looking at the big painting. And sad, maybe jealous but I don't think he'd resent Ludovica. He, most of all, understands.

Usopp and Zoro might be my fave duo in Drum Island purely because they just don't understand how the other one works and then lose all sense of situation because of it
Exhibit A) Usopp trying to help Vivi feel better:
Zoro: He's talking shit
Exhibit B) Usopp moved by Dalton's bravery trying to do a grand gesture:
Zoro: Usopp needs my help
Exhibit C) Usopp trying to instil confidence in the villagers and also show off
Zoro: Focused on finding the others

What I feel is the essentials of SVSSS Luo Binghe and Mobei Jun's dynamic
Luo Binghe brooding: I don't need friends. I just need Shizun.
Mobei Jun standing behind him: but I'm your friend?
Luo Binghe: Shut up Mobei. It's fine that everyone hates me as long as Shizun doesn't
Mobei Jun: but I don't hate you? You're kinda funny but not as funny as Qinghua.
Luo Binghe with his head in his hands: stop saying words please

but what about when spitfire reader acts sweet as pie for Not Him (aka Laswell or Price). what then.
I meant this in like a respectful way to them but Im now also picturing reader sticking her tongue out at Simon while hiding behind Price or Laswell
i'm doing it disrespectfully.
laswell's happily married and price- all he knows is that price has his eyes set on a cute thing of his own he's tryna cuff so it's cool.
kyle though, who's just gotten out of a long relationship and soap, who's dying a bachelor, are not and i'm not sorry to say envy it's rearing its ugly green head smiling with broken teeth but you don't think much on his recent change in demeanor.
you're doing as he wants, no? you're being attentive, respectful, polite.
this time he's coming at you with an ugly scrunch of his nose, lines on his face deepened, the sneer on his lips showing a hint of teeth. every word is laced with condescension that'd leave a lingering taste of humiliation on your tongue if only it weren't so painfully obvious that he's an angry, jealous man.
(you see what's right in front of you when he shoved his fingers into your mouth, pads pressed against your molars as he grinds out to keep them out of your pretty little head when he's in you.)
