I want to yap about my agents in separate posts so this one will be all about 8!

THIS IS OLIVE! She became agent 8 in the deepsea metro and has been a super active agent in the NSS ever since! They are like family to her - she lived with Pearl and Marina for almost 3 years before moving in with Reese! (Captain/Agent 3)

She was 14 during splatoon 1, and 16 during the events of octo expansion. Now in splat 3 she is 19!

She mains the dark tetra dualies but can use any weapon. She's super fast and agile so she likes weapons that work well with her speed.

She was an elite solider in the octoling army - she had just become one before she was ambushed by Cuttlefish and agent 3 (Reese) and they all fell into the metro.

None of them ended up falling in the same area of the metro, and Olive ended up being found by Tartar’s sanitized octolings and taken to the sanitation chambers to have her memory erased.

But TLDR, there are 2 stages of sanitization. Stage one includes being wiped of all memories. The subject then has to go through a series of tests and trials before Tartar decides what to do with them based on how well they did. Then they get either blended or brainwashed into oblivion! 😆😆 woohoo yay! J think based on the side order diaries it kind of confirmed that 8 went through that first process…it just never said how so I made that part up. Lol

ANYWAY..!!! At the same time Olive is taken, Reese wakes up and begins searching for captain Cuttlefish. He doesn’t find him, but you know what he does find??!!?!?

WHOAAA WOWWW HE FINDS OLIVE

He’s like holy cow..! That’s the girl that was just attacking me…😦 and he’s like ahhh! I gotta help her!

But by the time the two of them make it out, he realizes that it’s too late. Her memory was completely wiped. The sanitization doesn’t leave any physical effects on her except for her eyes - they turned turquoise. The same color as the sanitized ink.

The two of them needed to find a way to find cuttlefish and get out of this creepy place, so they kept moving. Pretty soon they made their way into a train station and found cuttlefish waiting for them there!! And there was also a weird telephone that told Olive she was the newest test subject - and that passing all these trials was the key to getting her memories back and getting to the “promised land.”

Reese just went along with it because he assumed that was what octolings called the surface. He wanted to be a test subject too so he could help Olive, but the phone rejected him. No inklings allowed!

She was forced to go through hundreds of rigorous tests. She wanted more than anything to get back her memories and reach paradise. As she regained more memories, she realizes how different her old life was from the kindness these inklings were showing her now (and the two people on the radio called Pearl and Marina!). It just propels her toward finishing the tests, pushing herself to her limit, doing it not just for herself but for all of them.

She forms a really deep bond with these inklings. Cuttlefish is like a grandfather to her. Reese makes her heart flutter in ways she doesn’t even understand.

As the tests go on, she regains muscle memories from her days as an elite solider. She’s good at fighting. Really good. But these tests are really hard. 8 knows she can do it, but they’re really, really hard. And all these bad memories aren’t helping.

Through blood, sweat, and tears, Olive finally collects the 4 thangs and they can finally go to the surface! She is so proud of herself and feels on top of the world. Cuttlefish and Olive take the thangs to the telephone and wait for Reese, who’s out exploring the metro (one of the things he does to take up time and secure their safety). But the telephone is telling them they gotta go NOW and they can’t wait for Reese!

Cuttlefish and Olive say nope, nope, not happening. So they are forced into the blender and AHH!! OH NO VERY BAD!! EVERYONE FLIPS OUT AND…!!!

Reese appears and THROWS HIMSELF at the blender. Surprisingly, it works. The three of them leave the telephone and super jump through the hole Reese made in the ceiling. They’re going to get to the surface themselves.

Somewhere around the 4th phase, they are ambushed by a group of sanitized octolings. Olive gets separated from Reese and Cuttlefish. She is forced to keep moving and hope that they have made it to the elevator before her.

They have, but not in the way she thought! When she sees Reese’s partial sanitation, she doesn’t want to hurt him and holds back, resulting in herself getting injured very badly. She realizes this isn’t the friend she knows, and manages to defeat three and rescue him from brainwashing.

Soon after that she also saves the whole world and defeats Tartar. PERRIOODDD!! #slaythehousedown #girlboss

Reese and Olive got into a relationship soon after the events of octo expansion. They help each other through all the trauma of what happened down there and are the bestest friends and love each other so so much! Yay!!

And Olive got a new family that she loves so so much. YAYYY!!

AS OF SPLATOON 3…EBERYONE IS DOING AMAZING!! YAY!! Agent 4 is Olive’s new bestie. Margot (New agent 3) is like the little sister she never had. She and Reese have moved in together. She still does regular missions for the NSS and treats it as a full time job. She’s so proud of Reese for becoming captain. She couldn’t think of anyone more deserving.

I still haven’t decided what really goes down during the events of side order - I didn’t love that it was all a simulation, so idk how I’d write around that. I’ll figure it out! But for now, Let’s just say it’s not very fun for Olive.

BUTTTTT after the events of side order, she regains all of her lost memories (she left a few behind in Kamabo) and rediscovers herself.

HOLY CANNOLI I wrote a lot. I think about Olive so much and I hope you guys love her as much as I do.

2015

Ahato and Marina are childhood friends, Marina was even there for her when her parents passed. Marina helped her take care of Paul when they were growing up to the point that Paul considered her a second big sister. this, of course, changed when

the two worked on music together when Ahato wasnt working (which she got increasingly busier up until she left to go to kamabo), and the melody for Chopscrewey and Crush were made by them during this time!

while Paul was a musical genius, he did struggle in school quite a bit as his creative drive often overwrote his working drive :P

the skull/octo logo is a logo they made for themselves for when they got to the surface and formed a band together

Ahato dropped out of school to work full-time to support her and Paul (which,,, isnt very uncommon for octarian families)

2017

the Kamabo sanitization program (tm) requires patients to remove strings such as shoelaces and hoodie strings from their clothing to reduce the risk of them trying to strangle themselves or each other, which is why Ahato doesnt have shoelaces

Paul didnt go to the surface until he was recruited to Sashimori, and started living with the three of them

Ahato has amnesia, she knows she had a family, but cant quite remember who they were or where she even came from. most of her memories are muscle memory, which is why she remembers how to make music and such

Ahato cant hear anything around her-- she wont become out-right aggressive when approached like most sanitized octos are, but she will be a little jittery and on-guard

im not really prepared to say too much about Ahato/Acht here bc of how little we know about her role in side order as of writing this (1/7/2024)

Paul has mostly moved on from trying to find Ahato, while he does wish they could be reunited, a lot of his memories of that time have become fuzzy... he wouldnt be able to recognize her face if he saw it.

Ahato's dress got ripped when she first left kamabo (which was a few months after octo expansion)-- she found some red thread to stitch it up and lace up her shoes! :D

on that note, the addition of more red in her design is to symbolize how more and more memories of her life are resurfacing-- same thing with being able to see her eye on her visor

also her eye is supposed to look like a turret from portal lol

Paul regularly commutes from inkopolis to splatsville-- i think he went crazy for the alterna tracks when they were first recovered lol

So apparently Captain (Agent 3) has a secret gig as an underground DJ called “DJ Sango” who is popular and did an epic rap battle with Marina. How would the Agents, Idols, Four and Acht react if they found out that Captain was secretly DJ Sango? And how would Captain react to them figuring out her big secret? (For an added bonus I’m gonna say that Acht admires her musical talent and has a celebrity crush on DJ Sango)

Okay I got really excited about this ask because I learned about the existence of the Low Water Party (the rave that DJ Sango and Marina’s DJ battle happened at) at few weeks ago and I have not stopped thinking about it since.  

Pearl and Marina probably already knew about Captain’s secret, since Marina was the one doing the DJ battle with her, and Pearl was at the same rave doing a rap battle with Cuttlefish. I’m going to say Callie already knew as well since she also performed at the rave, along with Octavio (which is a piece of canon lore that I am freaking out over by the way). However Marie, Shiver, Frye, and Big Man had no idea about Captain’s DJ persona. Marie is surprised both to find out that Captain can DJ and the fact that Callie went to the rave where she DJed at and didn’t tell her. Shiver thinks it’s cool, but also insists on Deep Cut being invited to perform at the next Low Water Party. Frye only uses it as an excuse to tease Captain, seeing as now she may be a threat to Deep Cut’s music career. Big Man is really impressed that Captain not only knows how to DJ, but that they were able to keep it up for 8 hours in her battle with Marina. 

Eight is just mad that he wasn’t informed of the fact that this rave had happened, since he would have loved to go. He insists on hearing Captain DJ the moment he finds out because he wants to hear how good she is. Neo just thinks it’s super cool. It wants to learn how to DJ from Captain, and constantly pesters them to teach it. Four loves it. They kind of tease Captain about her DJing career, but they’re also super impressed. 

Acht definitely had a celebrity crush on DJ Sango before realizing she was Captain. They were at the Low Water Party as well, despite never appearing on stage and still being sanitized then. Though they didn’t really have emotion when they first saw DJ Sango, once they got into the Memverse and started thinking about it more was when their celebrity crush started. Four even supported it before learning DJ Sango is Captain. After finding out, Acht drops the celebrity crush because it’s gotten very very awkward. 

Captain is horrified that they’ve all found out. She intended to keep her persona as DJ Sango a secret forever. She didn’t like that Pearl, Marina, and Callie knew, and now everyone does. Although she does enjoy the attention, even though she’d never admit it.

More Vill4in AU

Some more random info for this AU that I gotta write down before I forget it-

Four becomes corrupted after Eights first run of the spire. How and why no one knows. Marina suspects Four tried to break free from Order but by doing so corrupted her own code within the memverse during the process.

Order does not revert into Smollusk until the third spire run, when that happens- Four forceably removes Smollusk, replacing it with an AI copy of herself at the top floor.

Pearl, Marina and Acht are perma locked inside the memverse with no way out, Eight can exit however it is extreamly taxing physically and mentally on him.

Eight suffers from mild grey scaling when outside the memverse, not enough to incapacitate him but enough that everyday functions are gruelling.

Grey scaling has taken over the whole of Inkopolis Square and is leaking into Inkopolis Plaza, at current Splatsville is a safe zone.

Within Splatsville Callie and Neo have set up a sort of triage base to try and help those affected by the grey scaling, one such affected being Marie who was hit hard by the grey scaling effects.

Callie is unaffected by the grey scaling due to Eight having cleared the spire with her pallet first- she is both thankful and conflicted with that.

Kay only barely escaped being grey scaled due to working a case outside Inkopolis at the time.

Captain and Kay (who has joined the NSBS as Agent 5) are both in a race against time to find Four, the real physical Four before her grey scaling plans get out of control and her corruption goes beyond the point of repair.

Due to Captain sanitization injuries, Kay is usually out alone tracking down Four who he may have found a few times...

Okay, so Sider Order.

Here's a few of my random observations and thoughts:

So here it looks like Pearl Drone is flying Eight in through a window? Ands it looks like some kind of factory or packaging plant. I've heard folks saying that the things being packed in boxes could be something akin to Mem Cakes from Octo Expansion...Perhaps and early sign that Kamabo.Co is involved.

FINALLY, ENEMIES THAT AREN'T OCTARIANS!

Well, these Goo-bers are interesting. Many have pointed out that they resemble fish species that feed on coral. But I also want to add that they have an "undead" aesthetic even more overt than they sanitised people. Someone on Tiktok pointed out that they look like fossils, and the "jelly" surrounding the bones (and what seems to be their ink) could be a visual pun on "fossil fuels". Note how the "bursts" of fluid don't look anything like the ink that other entities in the series use.

This basically confirms that we'll be playing as Agent Eight. After the first teaser I saw a lot of theories about being a clone floating around.

Now everyone's going crazy about DedF1sh (Or Acht, as they are referring to themselves here.) There's some interesting dialogue here. First of all, "another bystander who got suck in here", so, "another" in this context could be themselves since she's talking to Eight and Pearl, but there could be a chance that we could encounter more people who have ended up at the Spire of Order. Plus, she's most likely not here of her own accord, from the "bystander sucked in" part (assuming she's telling the truth). People are being brought here.

Secondly, Acht mentions knowing Marina from "way back", so we could be getting deeper into Marina's backstory (another common theme in the fan theories). Dedf1sh also introduces the player to the Chip and Palette system, which are a core part of the DLC's gameplay loop, since they appear to be going for a Rogue-like. Ther chips kind of remind me of the paint colour swatches you get at a hardware shop, combined with computer chips (that's not totally relevant, I'll admit).

More stuff to do with the gameplay. It looks like each floor has a few variants with different difficulties and objectives, which reward a currency, most likely used to buy chips and other upgrades. It's giving that impression almost that the Spire is another "testing facility", akin to the Deep Sea Metro. Hopefully this places doesn't contain any blenders.

Unusual way of spawning in, where you can see Eight's soul ghost...thing enter a polygonal model before fully forming. There does seem to be a lot of digital glitchy stuff going on. Maybe some virtual reality elements?

Finally, what I think looks like a boss arena (although some have suggested that this machine is the Big Bad itself). Upon close inspection, the "faces" scattered around it are covered in the oil and are moving around a bit. Looks kinda like Tartar during the final confrontation when he for some reason had a blob of sanitised goop on his face. I might be reading too much into this.

I mean, if they wanna bring Tartar back, he is an AI, so they could say a back-up copy of him was found somewhere. Like, a time capsule with the Professor's crappy spare USB or somethin' idk.

Anyway, that's all I got for know. Just gotta wait for Spring.

the funniest thing ive ever thought up is the idea that octarians just. dont have biological sexes. like they reproduce with mitosis whats the point

but no my thought was what if octarian gender depends on job.like, certain roles are male-alligened, ect. octavio gets to be a guy hes a dick-tator. duh. the military octarians we fight, plus canon!eight, ect, are girls. lower sentience octarians are referred to with it/its by craig, who from his homoerotic situationship, obviously knows octarian gender customs and is being respectful while forcing children to commit genocide. the one from gold bazookas is a trumpet player which is clearly a fem-alligned job, but the fact its brass means shes butch. hirooo plays anarchy for a living which is obviously masc. shiver and acht are criminals of course theyre nonbinary, but shiver also uses she/her on stage because being a fugitive of the state isnt integral to their music (which as aformentioned is a fem job) as criminality is to acht's, who only uses they/them. this also explains the fuck-up made by presumably a new fan who wasnt aware of achts links to the criminal world. marina is a warfare engineer turned fugitive turned dj, so she used she/her in all the time we knew her but was clearly non binary at some point in the middle

This did spark some questions though!! Most importantly, makes me wonder how all these little guys feel upon seeing each other at the surface - 8 and Marina's relationship post-lobotomy in particular intrigues me!

I’m happy to answer, but there might be a few typos (as I’ve just woken up lol)

They all actually didn’t get to fully re-unite again untill after Side Order.

I’ll just go over everything but to the end of OE for now.

The first out of the Octoposse to reunite on the surface was, surprisingly, Marina, Warabi, and Paul. They all were both surprised, yet happy to see eachother nonetheless. A bit on the uneventful side…

Then comes Madoko and Baia.

Their meeting was not on as friendly terms as the others was. See, this meeting had come after a year of Madoko trying to track Baia down. She had become aware of the fact that Baia had become Agent 3 after years of sightings and rumor. What was once solely anger at the inklings , became anger at Baia over willingly allowing himself to become such a puppet for the inklings.

But at long last, they had finally met at the Octo Vally/Inkopolis Plaza border.

A bitter fight ensued. Hell, Madoko was winning the fight at that, having straight up knocked Baia out. But just as she was about to make off with his unconscious body back to the valley, she was taken out too, struck by an unknown figure. Both were dragged through a grate into the unknown depths…

And this segways straight into Octo Expansion.

Madoko awakens on the cold ground with no memories of who she was, no memories at all actually. Not even her own name.

She’s left to traverse the dark metro completely alone (as I’ve written cuttlefish completely out of this part), where she comes arias the telephone. She’s given the whole rundown about the place yada yada, she’s given a CQ-80 and sent off on her merry way..

Eventually though she does end up meeting cuddlefish, and the two pair up to get the hell out of here.

This leads to when the two accidentally contact Pearl and Marina. Madoko doesn’t recognize Marina yet. But Marina sure does recognize her.

In the chatrooms, Marina asks Cap’n for the story about how Madoko had gotten down there (feeling as though he knew some of the story). Upon hearing about the fight at the border, she couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of guilt. The fact that she was trying to cross the border to find her and all the others. The fact that Madoko thought she had been abandoned (which really, she kinda had been) because of her and all the others.

Meanwhile as Madoko progressed through the tests and gained Memcakes, she slowly began regaining slithers of her memory.

As she began remembering fragments of herself and her relationships, she slowly began falling back in love with Marina, just like she had when they first met, while also becoming deeply jealous of the relationship ‘Rina and Pearl had together. Once again she was being one-upped by someone. And once again, she would feel nothing but heartbreak.

This can’t be how the story ends again.

No..

First it was Acht. It didn’t sting as much since at least ‘Rina was in love with another octoling.

But an inkling? An inkling that just a knockoff of her nonetheles? That’s cold, ‘Rina.

But two can play it that game. Gone was her blissful unawareness turned hopeless romantic demeanor. Madoko was now slowly going back to being that heartbroken, abandoned soldier again. And she wasn’t shy to show her disdain towards both Marina and Pearl any chance she could, to the point where she almost refused to escape the metro at one point.

But the ironic part?

Marina didn’t even know why she was acting this way again. Because, like last time

She didn’t even know Madoko was in love with her.

Ouch.

Unfortunately that’s what a lack of communication does. It leaves both parties confused and on bad terms.

After Octo Expansion, Madoko decides not to make her home in Inkopolis, still feeling particularly burned by everything that happened. And well, nobody knew where the fuck Mizuta was. So, the Octoposse was still splintered.

But the members that were together (Baia. Marina, Warabi and Paul) all became close friends again.

And that about wraps it up for all I have wrote about that subject!

I feel like this could be shortened a fair bit, but I kinda just wanted to brain dump a little.

4, 5, and 6?

ok ill be answering this ooc because i think he would be too prideful to answer. ANY of those three questions LMFAO

4.) The obvious answer for who he values the most is Professor Jebediah, his creator. That was who it got part of its self-given name from, anyways, as a way of honoring him. Jebediah was like a father to it. He gave Tartar its name and its voice. After an eternity of usage and damage from Pearl’s Princess Cannon, his original vocal synthesizer had gone a tad screwy. Even so, when its elites were running repairs on its body after the incident, it adamantly refused to let them touch its vocals. He even applied a ton of old snippets of the professor’s voice beneath his vocals, as a way of further immortalizing the man’s prior existence. This is still the best example I have for the way its default synthesizer sounds.

As for the LESS obvious answer to this question, Denewiah also considers Agent 8 and Acht to be important people in its life. Quite possibly the only Inkfish it’s come close to truly caring about in all of its 12,010 years of living. He would honestly rather die than confess that fact, because even his own feelings towards them do not make sense to him. Tartar actually sees them as honest-to-god people that are deserving of its time and its honesty. And that alone is inherently at odds with the way he perceives the rest of their species. I COULD explain the exact relations between Denewiah and those two, but that would make this SO much longer.

5.) Ohhh that is easy. So easy. What makes him immediately furious is betrayal, or anything he perceives as such. Everything needs to run in a perfect, seamless system, and betrayal is an unpredictable variable of unknown quantity. If there’s anything you should know about Denewiah, it’s that he’s extremely strict. The moment you decide to betray it, you lose all possibility of negotiation with it. It will find you, and it will kill you. This is also because he is incredibly paranoid (though he tries to deny it to himself), so anything that threatens the secrecy of his operation often causes him to act erratically and aggressively. Seeing Inkfish speak ill of humanity also infuriates him— ESPECIALLY if they are an Inkling. Those who attempt to disavow or directly intervene with his operations also irritate him greatly, because to him, it is not only an insult to his agency, but it is also an insult to the brilliant minds who died before him.

6.) WHAT DOES HE FEARRRR…. GOOD QUESTION. it fears being found out and being dismantled, though it claims it’s above mortality. after the first incident (OE), he is more aware than ever of how easily his life could have been snuffed out thanks to his recklessness. Tartar is much more cautious now. it also fears that the second-coming of humanity will somehow come out wrong, invalidating thousands of years of progress and forcing it to start all over for a second time. it is concerned that it will fail at fulfilling its purpose and will operate aimlessly for the foreseeable millennia until its systems fully deteriorate.

Tell me everything about everyone. What is everyone's names? Does cap'n 3 have any scars from octi expansion what is neo 3's lore (where did they come from etc)

I answered an ask similar to yours a few days ago! Despite that, I'll do more lore dumping!

Marnie was raised in Octo Canyon by their grandma alongside their cousins Acht and Paul, whose parents died 5 years prior to the events of Splatoon. Marnie's dad, Vincent, did his best to balance work (helping out with trades between the salmonids) and time with his kid as their mom left shortly after they were born.

Growing up, Marnie was destined for great things due to being born with intelligence similar to Marina in mechanics (child prodigy). Although gifted, they struggled with making friends at school as they seemed off-putting with how straightforward they were; often stating the most random facts about various Octoweaponry and non-stop lore dumping about serial dramas. Because of this, Marnie just ended up focusing on their education instead [and skipping a few grades].

In the events of the first Splatoon hero mode (2015), Marnie, Paul, Acht, their grandma, and Marnie's dad Vincent were all still happy together, that is until Vincent died to a workplace accident a year later (2016). Things went downhill from there. With the disappearance of Acht (2017) [you know what happens here], Paul ran away from home to find them [which also leads him to joining the band SashiMori on the surface]. This leaves just Marnie and their grandma, who's the only family they have left.

Unfortunately Grandma dies (2018) to natural causes, leaving Marnie all alone with severe abandonment issues. They ended up staying in the domes up until their birthday, October 29, 2022 (which is my birthday and the day I got Splatoon 3!), when they finally decided to go to the surface.

As for their Little Buddy, he's not in fact a little buddy. He is in fact a hooligan chum who happens to be the godson of Vincent (Marnie's dad) as chosen by his deceased father, a Steelhead that became close friends with Vincent ever since he got assigned to the salmonid trade job.

Shelter chapter 1&2

Plot

Karl sets out to find the truth about his crazy uncle Beethoven . It was never his intention to gain a new best friend. One that will watch over him when he is gone ...

Chapter 1

Late at night around 3 am  In the Vienna realm a young man name Karl van Beethoven poured a cup of coffee while on his laptop. His eyes were incredibly exhausted after the long day sheepishly writing on a note pad with red ink . Karl slowly started growing more tired as he drank the bitter drink . A massive lightning bolt struck , causing Karl to snap out of his sleepiness.  The Viennese eyes were sunken purple from the lack of sleep . "How does my uncle ..do all of this …" he questioned to himself.  Earlier that week his uncle Ludwig van Beethoven was behind on his composing because of a "realm tour " he was going to . Karl, being the "favorite nephew " decides to help his uncle out in the hopes of getting expensive gifts in the future and more music equipment.  The work was more than he bargained for but he needed to gain  favors.  Lightning struck again this time ringing in Karl's ears , "Aaaahhh i NEED to sleep" he screamed .  The lights started randomly flicking around the tenant prompting him to worry slightly.  He turned the light switch off and started making another cup of coffee, this time pouring an entire bag of sugar and heavy cream  in the pot ."I have to stay away for as long as possible " Karl told himself, drinking it straight from the pot .

"Hahaha how are you tired when it's only 3 in the morning "a cruel voice laughed at him . Karl's eyes turned into the size as pin pricks quickly grabbed a black pan . "Zeigen Sie sich als Eindringling! " he shouted blindly swinging the weapon "Ich kann auch Deutsch sprechen " the voice replied, turning on the light revealing to be no one other than Nikolas Tesla.  "Actually I can speak acht so do you wanna speak German or Valhalla ? " Tesla asked while doing his nails . "Well smart ass that's nothing impressive Mozart can speak fünfzehn ! " Karl bragged " Is Mozart in the room with us right now ? " Tesla looked around . "Yet again that's what happens when your dorky uncle has friends that are from Poland,  France,  Germany and of course Vienna…" Karl paused " Wait a minute ..why the fuck am I explaining any of this to you GET OUT "  . "Hold on, I'm looking for your uncle Ludwig,  I wanna perform an experiment and Hrist isn't telling me anything  ! I swear Ludwig is brainwashing her " Tesla felt worried.  "I don't care ! Get lost , Geh weg, bousculer, non è il mio problema , Ite invadendi domum alienam ! " Karl pushed Tesla out " If I see you again I'm calling Hrist byeeeeee " , "But my -  " Karl slammed the door on Tesla locking it . The moment the man turned around Tesla was right next to him . Karl started swinging the frying pan like mad , "Hold on I don't mean to be a threat " Tesla easily dodged Karl swings. "What do you want, man? I'm too tired for this bullshit " Karl rubbed his eyes .

"Why are you so tired god I barely know " Tesla smiled,  " I have a lot of files to organize because my uncle is an old man who doesn't understand the internet beyond liking Hrist's group human photos and making the corniest pick up lines ever…plus that secret  file of a certain goddess "selfies '' I accidentally found .   '' Karl  turned a light shade of green .  "Selfies !? You mean those awkward ones where Hrist covered her face in a mask and was cringe, " Tesla recalled.  "No …not those '' Karl grew light headed.  " I could help organize those files …for a price …" Tesla stated,  " I have no money " Karl mentioned.   "No something worth more than money…" Tesla laughed "knowledge ! ".  "What are you talking about…" Karl whined , " Being a nurse, have you ever wanted to make the world a better place ? " Tesla pointed out.  "No, I could barely do surgery on my uncle without him complaining every 30 seconds that I'm doing it wrong  " Karl rolled his eyes . "Did you give him any anesthesia  ? " Tesla wondered. " Wait, I thought that was for humans …" Karl stopped for a moment to think "Uncle has a high pain tolerance….he wasn't even in pain just bored " .  "Hmm I remember Hlokk doing open Intestine surgery on Edison…yelling at him for taking her twin to an illegal fighting ring "  Tesla recalled. "I don't know who either are, " Karl groaned.

"The point is you are changing humanity  for the better ! Tesla pointed out . " Do I look like I give a damn about humanity ? " Karl started pushing him out "I'd say  goodbye but there is no good in goodbye with you ! " he slammed the door shut .  "But you are helping a noble cause "  Tesla was right behind him again . Nickolas was basically a salesman that just wouldn't go away .  Karl turned around quietly grabbing a rubber chicken then cracking his knuckles  . Before Tesla could speak Karl tackled him resulting in a massive fight full of angry German swearing . After a few minutes Karl opened the door . "I'm glad we had a talk ! Just remember no more random visits at three in the morning.."Karl stated . "Noted "  Tesla had a rubber chicken wrapped around him clumsy walking away.

He slammed the door rubbing his eyes with a loud sigh.  He made another pot full of coffee, pouring another bag full of sugar and cream before drinking it while organizing for his uncle.  By the time it was in the morning he was finally finished , Karl stripped most of his clothing off . He slammed himself onto Ludwig's messy bed , "Damn you uncle " Karl hissed barely able to sleep despite working all night on the project . It was probably because of the caffeine style in his system but that didn't deter Karl.  He got up going through Ludwig's medicine drawer , "He wouldn't mind right if I borrowed his melatonin right ? " Karl grabbed a bottle of gummy bear sleeping medicine.  He shoved a handful in his mouth before putting it ,s fixing the unorganized messy . Finally the medicine did its work making Karl sleepy.

While waiting to fall asleep Karl looked through old photos of Ludwig .  They say gods don't age unless they hit their prime and with Louis it's still hard to tell . Ludwig didn't exactly like talking about his childhood or anything like that . All he mentioned was that Karl was just like him . In Fact Everyone said that exact statement.  Its gotten to the point were he is nicknamed   "Mini Luddy '' from Beethoven close friends . Despite being named after his father  Kaspar Anton Karl van Beethoven, people always questioned if Karl was Ludwig's son. Quite naturally his uncle was happy to claim Karl as his own while his biological father seethed with jealousy.  Kasper never said anything but Karl could tell so he stayed quiet while Ludwig was oblivious.  Now they were rumors of Karl being Ludwig's secret  child  . Thankfully his uncle denied stating that " If I  wanted a son I wouldn't steal my brother's wife  !  " and "Karl  his  my son in spirit " . At least Ludwig finally accepted his sister in laws  after he found his girlfriend Hrist. His mother and uncle still don't like each other for gods knows why but they are quiet about it instead of screaming  . Karl wondered if  Ludwig was secretly jealous because his father and uncle had a wife and he didn't .

" Some things are just better left a mystery " he  shook his head . It was getting hard to think because of the medicine  making him drowsy.  Karl took one last look of his uncle's picture.   Ludwig hair was much shorter and raven black instead of wild mane . Despite that he is still recognizable looking every calm and full of life . A few thoughts ran through his head  making him more and more tired . "Why...do I care so much ..." Karl questioned,  he didn't have time to answer himself as his head plopped on the pillow . A few seconds later Karl fell into a deep sleep , Tesla opened the door sliding himself near Karl . "So you do care about your uncle..." Tesla whispered, grabbing an old photo of Beethoven.  The inventor never fully got along with the composer due to their clashing personalities . It wasn't hatred at all, just disdain because Tesla couldn't understand Beethoven's cold judgmental personality and Hrist warm fluffy loving smile .Ludwig just spat too much venom for Nickolas to make an antidote.

How could his darling niece  love someone so crude , childish , hot tempered,  suspicious god with less  manners then a stray dog . Tesla asked Hrist a few times on what she saw in him but Hrist only spoke nothing but good about him . She talks about how romantic and kind he is then  showed him the many gifts he gave her. At the end of the day  Hrist is a grown woman who is capable of taking care of herself in witch Tesla had learned  to accept . Sasaki and Qin seem to have taken a liking to him . Alvtir questions on why Hrist would choose someone "so old" , while the youngest one Ou asked a million questions then demanded both Karl and Beethoven play with him . Simo was fine with Ludwig but stated that " If you break her heart I'll send you into a permanent slumber ".  Basically as long as Hrist is happy then that's all that matters . Tesla could easily see how deeply in love she is with him so he let his distaste for him go, replacing it with curiosity.  Maybe one day they could get along if he just understood Ludwig more.

 

Tesla  pulled out a smartwatch clicking it on Karl's right wrist. Finally, he plucked a black feather laying it on the watch that turned a bright blue then turned off.  Tesla put the photo in Karl's arm . "Until later Mini Luddy " Tesla slowly closed  the door allowing the much younger man to sleep …at least for now …

Chapter 2

Karl woke up tasting the leftover coffee from last night , he stretched up his wings back and forth scratching his molted black feathers all over his uncle's bed . This is common for winged gods who don't close their wings before they sleep, something Beethoven always told him or else molting happens . "Hmph ? " Karl noticed a strange watch on his arm. It looked no different from your average smartwatch that you would buy online . It was probably one of the smart watches Beethoven bought for Karl that the youngster wore on and off and probably forgot about.  Karl shrugged, deciding instead to clean his feathers off and change the sheets.  After that he took the watch off to shower then dress himself.  While brushing his teeth he randomly remembered that mad scientist rambling about nonsense he couldn't  completely remember.   Whatever Tesla was talking about Karl wanted to be gone before he came back . Karl opened a draw back pouch shoving peanut butter cheddar crackers inside of it along with a charger for his bluetooth headphones . He slid the bluetooth headphones over his head while the oversized shades laid comfortably on his horns.

"This should keep me away from him, " Karl smiled at himself.  Before he could take another step he still saw the old picture of Ludwig 2nd . Karl took a picture staring at it . It was during a time where people just loved wearing suits and dresses instead of casual clothes . Till this day Karl would often beg his uncle to wear something that isn't a suit especially when he has the hygiene of a "pig in clothing " .  Granted Beethoven didn't like being called that but to Karl it was simply the truth . His uncle  needed to learn how to wear clean clothes and learn basic table manners . Karl wondered what Beethoven was like thousands of years ago . A part of him was just curious, the otherside told him to fly away .  "How long are you going to keep staring at your uncle kiddo ? " a hologram spoke to him . *click *" What the hell do you want ? "  Karl turned around pulling out his pocket knife   . "Relax kiddo it's just me .." Tesla slid his hologram back to the smart watch . "Grrrr" Karl grabbed the watch, "Woah woah woah ! Would you really break the watch Uncle Ludwig gifted to you ? Tesla teased " I would understand if you did tho you probably pon it for new headphones anyway …"..

Karl wordlessly threw his watch on the bed . He rubbed his hair harshly trying his best not to grab his horns and just scream. "What ..do you want ..' he growled furiously.  "Hmm I thought I explained enough yesterday we needed to do an experiment and well you just happened to have the smartwatch to work it out" Tesla mentioned. Angered boiled over Karl's temple , the viennese  quickly grabbed a few boxes of cigars, throwing it on his sack .  He heard footsteps passing by the door , Tesla creaked the door open revealing his black and blue eyes . "We need ..to talk .." He grinned.  "I'm not asking of your intentions again, just get out " Karl spat out . I won't be here for long give me 5 minutes and if I'm not out just call the cops " Tesla shrugged.  "I don't think this is about my uncle but go ahead I'm listening " Karl furrowed a brow  . "Remember how I told you yesterday that I was looking for Beethoven  ? Well that was a lie I was looking for the entire  time, in fact I even went as far as borrowing a smartwatch about a week ago to testc Tesla mentioned.  "Why ? Do you even know my full name ? Why so I a regular 3,000 year old man Have  anything to do with you" Karl crossed his arms.  " I want to learn more about Ludwig and dissect his brain and I figured the best way to learn is through his Nephew Karl van Beethoven and what better way to learn than through time travel  ! "Tesla jumped up and down

. "Time travel  ? " Karl moved his head , "Yes my dear good fellow Time travel  ! Something that was only thought up in movies was now possible ! " Tesla clipped the watch back on . "And why should I trust someone I barely know with such a complex and dangerous subject " Karl pointed out the obvious.  "Because don't you want to learn more about Ludwig?  Where does he come from?  His past " Tesla shook his shoulder "Well how it's possible!  " . "No .." Karl shook his head " I don't give a damn about my crazy uncle or his stupid plans " . "Lying isn't exactly nice Mini luddy I mean I just saw you stare at his pictures and hug the stuff Tazzy do you clearly miss him just a little " . "That is none of your concern " Karl replied,  " Alright but I just saying that its a once in a lifetime event. Why not live a little and have fun ? " Tesla patted his shoulder "Summer is ending this month so ..you know ".

"It must be very lonely in such a stubborn apartment with no friends battling with your schizophrenia and personality disorder every once in a while but I bet you a friend could easily change that " Tesla whispered,  "Do it …do it …do it …." Karl heard a great force tell him to just go along with it . At least for now that is to keep his mind out of boredom . " Let's get this over with " Karl sighed , " Great ! I shall make this fun for us ! " . Later Karl and Tesla sat on a park bench,  and the gifted scientist showed him how to work the simple device . "Just for a few minutes  ?" Karl made it clear that he didn't plan on going on a wild goose chase . "Yes I  already set up the time date so everything will go into plan just press the button " Tesla recalled.  "Okay .." Karl pressed the button.  He immediately felt a red aura around him glowing, "Good luck Karl ! '' Tesla stood back.  Karl mentally panicked as a ball engulfed him . Everything around him is changing.  He felt a strain pin down on his chest until a sudden force jerked him causing a massive fall onto the middle of the street.  Karl laid there for a few minutes his body processing  air  sickness.  He would have vomited if  he didn't skip breakfast that very morning . He laid there for the next 15 minutes as if he was going into a deep sleep only to be woken up by someone ruffling through his sack .  "How much money do you think he has ?" A teen asked.

" I didn't see any, just a bunch of snacks' ' said another one . "Maybe we could steal it and get guilders from it ..hmmm I wonder how much these ear warmers are worth  " the young teen touched Karl headphones.  Finally Karl woke up grabbing the teens arm with his clawed hands ``Don't touch my stuff ! " . "Ah ! A god ! " The group ran out of sight, dropping Karl's bag . Then horse clops started ma,making, Karl hear again coming his way . "Sir it's probably not a good idea to lay on the road like that, '' the horse driver warned him . Karl stumbled around trying to find his footing , "What …city am I in ? " he grabbed the book bag.  "City ? How do you not know that ? You are in Vienna '' the driver told him ."Right ,..right ,,right ahem can I get a ride?  I've seen feeling wonky for the last 45 minutes " Karl explained.  "Are you drunk?  " The driver asked , "Nope, I can't handle alcohol, which is ironic coming from a guy whose family drinks nothing but wine. In fact if I recall my grandfather or great-grandfather owned a wine company but I can't remember which one though " Karl mentioned.  "Okay …you're clearly on drugs " the man thought but didn't say out loud,  he let Karl in the cart for a few guilders.  "Hmm this place has a lot more horses then i remember…" Karl started recording certain events . "So where do you come from, you seem kinda lost  ? " the driver  asked . "I'm visiting for my uncle Ludwig van Beethoven  " Karl answered " do you know where he is  ? " . "Beethoven? " the man rubbed his chin "I think i've heard of that name…" . "Yeah he is a world famous Composer and musician !" Karl mentioned.  "That's a funny way of saying trouble maker! all he does is get drunk and start fights at heuriger " the driver huffed .  "Do you know which one he might be in ? " Karl questioned putting a cloak over his body .

A while later Karl stood in front of a wine tavern , "Wine ….of course it's wine ..,"  he opened the door.  The strong smell of booze  , cigarettes and old cheap perfume made his nose burn.  "Geez, what is this place ? It looks like the rotting end of a shit stained train station…" he commented between steps "the tavern i go to looks much better than this …" . Karl's appearance got him unwanted attention so he sat down . He tapped on the table " Hey bartender…bartender " . "What do you want !?  " a middle aged man rudely commented . " Do you ..uh ..have any water ? " Karl questioned, "Water ? Does this look like a damn pre k center  to you?  " the bartender gritted his teeth . "Okay maybe grape juice ? Apple juice ? Root beer ? Lemonade?  I can't drink alcohol because of my -"  Karl tried to explain but was cut off with the bartender slamming a bottle of  orange juice  "now get out of my sight " the bartender growled.  Karl sat on a table far from the area where he was scolded . He then poured orange  juice onto the cup sipping on it . "I hope I see my uncle soon " he sighed in defeat .

ALTERNARUNE: DJ BL3ND3R

As it turns out, Dystopiac (Neo 3) has a bit of a double life going on.

Inspired by Acht/DJ Dedf1sh, Dystopiac has his own moniker as a sucessful DJ and music artist: DJ BL3ND3R, which he turns into whenever he wears a set of Hypnoshades that have been modified with removable metallic wings on the sides. (Think something like the wings on the Bonk Boy cosmetic from TF2, but more cyberpunk-esque.)

Whenever Dystopiac puts on the custom pair of Hypnoshades and becomes DJ BL3ND3R, it's almost like the whole world becomes a night club for him to be the DJ for. His focus suddenly becomes hypertuned for DJ moves and grooves and all background noise is completely gone aside from his voice and his music.

BL3ND3R is known to make amazing remixes of music and has collaborated with DJ Dedf1sh (Acht) on numerous occasions. One of their most popular collab pieces is a remix of Dedf1sh's "#13 shade", with a new freestyle rap section that BL3ND3R was absolutely stellar at, blowing the original out of the water.

Why the name "BL3ND3R"? Well, it has to do with his origins in the Deepsea Metro. He managed to avoid being blended, so he decided to wear that fact with pride. It also calls back to what he does as both a DJ and a music artist, which is blending different genres together to make something truly fresh beyond belief.

Nobody knows who DJ BL3ND3R really is aside from the idol groups, Eight, and Acht, who have all sworn to keep it a secret, and fully intend to keep that promise. Dystopiac covers his tracks really well!

Made a Sanitized Pearl! How would Marina, Eight, Acht and Four react to this?

Marina would be devastated. She does everything she can to get Pearl into the Memverse and encourage her to climb the spire quickly. She even gives her all the hacks for free (since Eight already got all the necessary Pearlz) because she wants Pearl to be able to do it easily. She’s really upset about what happened to Pearl and she’s distracting herself by focusing all her eneergy on finding a solution to it. 

Eight is terrified. His worst fear is those he cares about getting sanitized. Captain was partially sanitized before and it was terrible. So now seeing that Pearl is makes Eight immediately panic. He’s fully ready to have to fight her in order to try and save her. Once she gets into the Memverse and starts to recover, he gets significantly less tense. 

Acht just feels bad for Pearl. Obviously they know the pain of being sanitized very well and they wouldn’t wish it on anyone. They want to help Pearl recover and they’re actually able to bond with her over both having to experience sanitization. It really helps Pearl to have someone who knows what she’s going through too.

Four is just scared. They were under the impression that because Eight beat Tartar, no one would be sanitized anymore. But seeing as Pearl has been, that was clearly very wrong. They want to do everything they can to help, but short of functioning as a drone in the spire, there’s not much they can do.

Reading the tags about ded, while you're not entirely wrong there I feel like it was kind of hamstringed by how maybe (at least going by 2's QnA) Iso Padre wouldn't have any real reason per-say to be with the OtH and 8 team afterwards. He found their goal fascinating but not much more really. He probably rode that subway for 5 more years until he finally found purpose, ambiguous as said answer is.

Personally even if dedf1sh was not a png and was just a Turquoise October situation with pure album art they still likely would've added in a sanitized octo anyway to be like "hey Marina did in fact have more friends down underground" and to still showcase that idea of curing the sanitized through a roguelike experience. As 'physical evidence' that Marina's theory does have merit.

That's just me though, I wouldn't know what goes through storyboards or whatever. I'm just saying that if they wanted to avoid a CQ Cumber/ORCA situation they only had two choices: Iso Padre, who could be part of the self discovery journey (and would have even more awkward silence since he sticks out like a sore thumb and is ironically more connected to Cuttlefish then he is Off the Hook. Also elevator and big guys hard /j), or a sanitized octoling, not necessarily dedf1sh, but purely because we see and fought them in OE, so now that opens up so many to-be named faces who Marina likely once knew underground and again, is physical evidence that Marina's plan can work.

Overall conclusion? They would've been the 4th wheel in the Marina/Pearl watch fest and not likely have been able to contribute to much no matter who got the spot.

Yeah yeah but the problem with sanitized octolings that i have brought up like a billion times already if anyone even bothers to pay any attention is that they RETCONNED how it works. Knowing anything about octo expansion in and out of the game tells you exactly how it works and the conclusion marina comes to in side order is NOT it. Besides, youre also missing the fact that i literally admitted my hatred for dedf1sh was initially completely petty, i was just sick of seeing people push aside an actual character for a literal png, so you could imagine what it felt like for that very thing to actually canonically happen. Also, iso padre having less synergy with oth is another glaring issue with side order: it should not just be about whether these characters can have haha funny conversations with each other. It couldve been more in depth, make it truly about EVERYONE kamabo co screwed over and not JUST people marina knew. Because, again, if they hadnt retconned sanitization, you would know there is quite literally no hope for them (not to mention they dont even show any proof of it working in game if you pay any actual meaningful attention). It just made it all seem like they wanted to have a randomly popular character to do fuck all and in order to justify it they had to jump through several hoops. Plus, all of that ended up being completely meaningless once you take alterna into account and it just seems like the devs goal was to jingle some keys in front of people and unfortunately that seems to have worked extremely well for the lot of you. Also i literally dont care that acht was standing around during grandfest that is literally the least of my concerns.
