Due respect, but in my opinion, immortal characters who are “bored with immortality” are severely lacking in imagination.

You know what would happen to me if I got immortality? Reading. In fact, immortality might be the only way to make a dent in my TBR.

Know who got it right? I can think of 3:

Michel Foucault

Michel Foucault (1926-1984) was a post-modernist French philosopher and is considered one of the most influential philosophers of modern times. Aside from his critiques of social institutions, his influence can be seen in both the humanities and social sciences. A central theme of Foucault's work is the relationship between power and knowledge, more specifically, how power controls and defines knowledge.

As an observer and critic of both the penal system and mental institutions, Foucault believed that "schools serve the same function as prisons and mental institutions — to define, classify, control and exploit people" (Despeyroux 78). He held that society and social institutions are controlled through relations of power. While some critics view him as being pessimistic, to Foucault, the value of philosophy, if organized according to his methods, is a means of changing the balance of authority over the individual through the exposure of the power structures intended to control us.

Life

Paul-Michel Foucault was born in Poitiers, France, on 15 October 1926, the second child of Anne Malapert and Paul Foucault, a prominent and wealthy surgeon and professor of anatomy. His father wanted the young Michel to follow in his footsteps and become a doctor, but claiming his ambitions were affected by World War II, Foucault thought otherwise. He entered the distinguished graduate school École Normale Supérieure in 1946, graduating in 1951 with degrees in philosophy and psychology. It was while he was a student that he allegedly made his first attempt at suicide, which, according to one historian, demonstrated a self-destructive tendency in his character (Oliver, 178).

After graduating, he left France to escape the conservative sexual mores of the post-war French culture. He chose, instead, to travel for several years, teaching in Sweden, Poland, and Germany. He returned to France in 1960 and taught philosophy and psychology at the University of Clermont-Ferrand. He published his first book Madness and Civilization, an analysis of the treatment of madness in the Middle Ages and beyond.

In 1970, he was elected to the most prestigious Collège de France, but by the late 1970s, a disillusioned Foucault quit teaching and traveled the world until he died of an AIDS-related disease in 1984. Jeremy Stangroom in his The Great Philosophers wrote that Foucault lived his life as if he were driven by the need to "transcend both physical and cultural limits" (155)

Maybe Diana encountering him in the city and idk they bump into each other and talk and suddenly Matthew enters and he and Lucas have essentialy kinda spiderman meme bc he may not recognize his son but his son recognizes him? And Jonathan Bailey as Lucas fancast obviously hehe

Diana was taken aback when she encountered the vampire who looked so much like her husband. He'd barely stopped when they almost bumped into each other.

"I am so sorry ma'am. I should've seen where I was going."

She gave him a smile and shook her head, "Not your fault--" "Lucas--I'm Lucas Charpentier--and you're?" She shook his outstretched hand, "Diana Bishop."

Lucas' face lit up at that, "The famous witch, Diana Bishop--you stood up to the congregation, did you not?"

"I did. Word travels fast I take it."

If he could blush he would, instead dipping his head and letting out a small chuckle.

As they stood there chatting, a car pulled up beside them, and the back of Diana's neck ran cold, Matthew.

"Can I help you, sir?" He asked coldly, a hand on Diana's back as he stared down Lucas. She tried to say something, but Matthew wouldn't listen.

"Father?" Lucas said, almost stunned. To the younger man, Matthew hadn't aged a day since they last saw each other, when Lucas was only a little boy.

"You--what?" Diana asked confused, looking from Lucas to Matthew and back to Lucas.

Matthew showed no sign of recognizing the young boy, but how could he, it had been centuries.

"Who are you?"

Lucas looked physically upset at the question, like he'd just been punched in the face. "I'm Lucas--your son--it's me, dad."

Diana wanted to pull him in for a hug the second he said that, not wanting the younger man to suffer any longer.

"That's impossible! They told me Lucas died, hours after his mother--centuries ago!"

"Take my blood, and see for yourself--" Diana shakes her head, "you will not, I can check, without hurting you Lucas." Freeing herself from Matthew, so moved closer to Lucas, hands out, "May I put my hands on the sides of your head?"

He nods at that, both ignoring Matthew's staring as Diana puts her hands on the temples of Lucas' head. Memories of the young man's long life came rushing forward, clouding Diana's mind, making her stumble slightly, but she kept her hands on him, trying to sift through it all, to find the start.

Matthew, looking so young, having one arm wrapped around a blonde woman's waist, and the woman holding a little brown haired boy, Lucas. They looked so happy.

Then--Blanca being carried away to be seen by a doctor--Lucas crying, clinging to his father's leg--Matthew crying too, but not as much--possibly staying strong for his son--hours after--Lucas is taken away too--reunited with his mom--and a strange woman--

Diana almost didn't want to let go, but feeling she's gotten what she needs, she lets go of his head. "It's true Matthew--he's telling the truth."

"But--I mourned for you--for both of you--I was so lost, without--" red streaks rolled down Matthew cheeks as he looked at Lucas again.

Diana came to his side quickly, pulling him in for a hug. "I'm sorry my love." She'd not seen him this broken--not since the memory of him after Philippe died.

They hugged for a bit longer, until he managed to compose himself, and look at his son once more, the younger vampire was crying too.

"Lucas?" Matthew opened his arms, letting the boy choose if he wanted to hug him or not, and he shot into his dad's arms, hugging him so tightly. "It's okay my boy. It's all okay."

Hi! Sorry for not replying earlier. Anyway, the au is Marcus successfully sired his fellow doctor from A&E, James and James have to go through the vampire transition.

I was stuck on a plot point that James decided to leave after three months, my reasoning was he learned about blood rage, but also he got Marcus' memories - mainly about the little girl who Juliette killed in Time's Convert.

This disgusts him and he bails.

Years later, Marcus is able to find him and is able to convince him to return. The clincher is that Baldwin informs James that while Juliette was not punished for that (she was Gerbert's daughter, that's punishment enough) but the vampire who was with them and encouraged it was executed because the Congregation got sick of his encouraging murdering human children since draws attention to them.

Plus even though it's Baldwin, he does in fact draw the line at killing kids.

Sorry I took a little bit longer to answer this! Anyway-

first of all, lovely idea, chef's kiss, rip james you were invented just to die and give matthew a reason to info dump vampire genetic issues on marcus and you deserved better.

I love James deciding to leave. Like tbh I too would dip out the second I found out how fucking ridiculous the vampire/de clermont world is. get me out of here. I think the average person would run. and James was, per Marcus, a good guy - he wouldn't want any part with a world that would let that kind of thing go unchecked.

and of course it's not necessarily fixed just bc the vampire who encouraged it is dead - because Gerbert still goes unchecked and Juliette (rip my love) was only killed by Diana - but it's something at least.

History: Patience is the younger sister of Marcus. She was sired by one of the oldest vampires in the world (possibly Philippe’s sire). Patience stayed clear of her brother when she found out he was a vampire too, through informants she had gained. But she couldn’t help but follow his moves, make sure they were never in the same place at the same time, that he wouldn’t know of her existence.

After Matthew and Juliette killed nearly all of Marcus’ children, save from Geraldine and Ransome, Patience approached her niece and nephew, caring for them, not that they wanted it at first, what they wanted was revenge. But she stayed with them, helping them build their lives (and following) in New Orleans.

She goes to great lengths to protect her family, going as far as to threaten anyone who will pose a threat to them, this includes having Dominico in a headlock and about to rip his head right off.

), Now some of you are wondering, Well wait, Isn't Godatz the leader of the Bundoru Gang actually Fennel the Imperial Captain of the Cook-Fighters.... Well here's the thing, There is a reason how THAT fiasco happened.... It all comes back to the Toei Hack On March 11, 2022, According to Director Fukasawa Toshinori, He revealed in an Interview that Fennel originally was not (and I mean NOT!!) intended to be Godatz, But because of the hack, he and his staff had to immediately make Fennel the main Antagonist to fit the Rearranged flow of the season. True story, When I first seen the Fennel reveal on X-mas day.... I was laughing.... I was laughing hysterically at how Rushed, Out of nowhere and F@%$ing stupid it felt, While a part of me is offended that the Episode itself was mocking my Intelligence as a new forming Otaku, Making me question Reality as an Anime fan and an Artist.... Me and AzenZone where convinced that it would have been Ginger, After all, He was wearing Clothing Resembling the members of the Bundoru Gang in ways, But then Episode 41 came around to PULL the Rug from right under our F@%$ing Feet with this...... But while I was coming up with Ideas for Villains United, And Playing with the Idea of Lysandre becoming President of the Pokemon World Republic, I decided NO, I refuse to believe Fennel is a Villain and had to think of a way to Undo this mess like Chris Clermont did when he came up with Avengers Annual #10 to undo what Avengers Issue 200 done to Ms Marvel (Carol Danvers), And I didn't do it alone, I talked about this with my Good Friend @MLPFan053 and he came up with an  Idea I really like and will be a stepping stone for Fennel's Redemption, For I would play with the Idea of Him having No memory of what happened when Episode 41 happened.

Maybe Fennel was not actually Godatz. The REAL Godatz was only using Fennel as a host in order to paint the image that the CooKingdom's Imperial Captain was "Godatz".

The REAL Godatz was actually imprisoned in the Recipe-Bon. Said prison is the VERY LAST page of the book itself. The Recipe-Bon's additional function as Godatz's prison was a tightly guarded secret. Known only to the members of the CooKingdom's ruling monarchy. Meaning that excluding both the CooKing and the CooQueen, none of the CooKingdom's citizens were aware of the Recipe-Bon's dark secret. Not even the Cook Fighters themselves as well as the Energy Fairies themselves. Not even Ginger. No one knows where exactly Godatz had came from or what gave birth to him. What is known about him is that he is actually an energy entity. In other words, he has no physical form but, after a long and hard battle, he was imprisoned in the book that would come to be known as the Recipe-Bon by the founders of the CooKingdom themselves. Every time a new kind of food is created for the very first time in the human world, a page that contains the corresponding food's recipe will appear as part of the Recipe-Bon. Thus, as long as the humans continue to make new kinds of food, all new recipes will be created and added as part of the Recipe-Bon. As a result, Godatz who is imprisoned in the Recipe-Bon in the form of the aforementioned book's VERY LAST page will not be able to gain the strength that he needs to break out of his prison due to the added recipes in question suppressing his power. However, then came a day when a certain Cook Fighter had lost his way and had a fateful encounter with the Recipe-Bon when no one was looking. One day, when he had the chance to do so, Fennel had came across the Recipe-Bon while he was performing a routine inspection of the place where said recipe book was being kept. The inspection had happened AFTER Ginger's funeral and, at the time, Fennel was wracked with grief towards his beloved master's death. Out of anger towards Ginger's passing, Fennel had destroyed the Recipe-Bon in a sorrowful fit of rage. However, by the time he had calmed down, he panicked and had genuinely felt remorseful for what he had done to the CooKingdom's sacred source of powers. Unfortunately, for him, what he had done had also freed Godatz from his prison. Deeming Fennel as a suitable host for his nefarious schemes due to the aforementioned Cook Fighter's hidden jealousy towards Cinnamon and his grief towards Ginger's passing, Godatz had grafted himself onto Fennel's soul when the energy entity in question had possessed him. As a result, both Godatz and Fennel had became one. After that, Godatz who is using Fennel's body then proceeded to completely repair the Recipe-Bon so that no one would suspect Fennel's act of destroying the book as well as suppressing Fennel's memories regarding his act of destroying the Recipe-Bon and his meeting with Godatz along with his memories regarding both Godatz and Fennel fusing with each other in order to become one in order for Godatz to maintain the cover that he had started to make for himself ever since that day. Once Godatz had possessed Fennel, the dark energy entity had been whispering into his mind with Fennel mistakenly thinking that all of his actions as "Godatz" were "His ideas" when, in reality, Fennel was nothing more than a "Puppet" to the REAL Godatz's control. In other words, well....The rest is history." What MLPFan053 came up with is VERY cleaver and clearly understood where I was coming from, and I could tell in a sense that he didn't like Fennel's Out of nowhere reveal as Godatz as well, Don't know what @Omniverse-Commander feels about it but it's up to him, But his Explanation here gave me some Inspiration of a Possible Origin for Godatz himself, It is sprinkled and hinted on the Picture itself, But it will be Greatly Expanded on the Storyline that will be the Sequel to to the Story which I will Title Pokemon/Pretty Cure: The CooKingdom Conspiracy. B&B Origins. According to Fennel, Godatz was originally a Cat Energy Fairy who was assigned by CooKing and CooQueen to partner with a Young Ginger, Together they travelled the world, Inspired by the Creations of Various Dishes, He was the one to Create the Recipe-Bon and bound his Power to it, Should a new Dish be invented, Not only will it be recorded into the Book, But also a New Recipepe will be born from it, Godatz was praised by CooKing and CooQueen for his Accomplishment and will put CooKingdom in the Dimensional map, However things started to change, One day, with Godatz looking after the Book, Ginger was Assigned a new Energy Fairy named Kome-Kome the 1st, and travelled the world seeing new found Recipepe's, And thanks to Ginger's own Experiences as training new Cook-Fighters, Kome-Kome the 1st would take up his own Student Energy Fairies in the Responsibilities, However Godatz became Jealous of Kome-Kome the 1st, believeing that Kome-Kome's contributions would overshadow his own, Letting his own pride get to his head, Godatz started to manipulate the CooKingdom Monarchy into believing his Precious Recipe-Bon can be CooKingdom's Greatest power, He sweet-Talked them into Allowing him to perform some new-Ventures with the Recipe-Bon, This would ultimately lead to Godatz's fall from grace, Discovering that When filled with Recipepes, the Recipe-Bon will be filled with many recipes for people to use to make their own cuisines, However as Godatz's greed grew, He discovered that all recipes and dishes will also be stolen, Seeing this, Godatz would see it as something he would use to an Advantage, No longer just seeing it as a Tool for of CooKingdom's Peace, But also as a Potential Weapon of War should CooKingdom Feel threatened, Godatz would eventually show All of his discoveries to CooKing and CooQueen, Despite seeing the Potential of Weaponizing the Recipe-Bon, They do see that Godatz Pride is is Driving him to Competition with Kome-Kome the 1st, and is leading him down a Dark Path, Warning him Not to continue in his Experiments on the Recipe-Bon, But Godatz stubbornly refuses to listen Believing that Anyone Outside of CooKingdom Don't Appreciate what the Recipepe's do for there Food And pins them for Approving of his Experiments on the Recipe-Bon, To keep Godatz from Revealing there involvement, And to Keep Godatz from Starting a Potential War, CooKing and CooQueen Warned Ginger of what Godatz plans to do, But not informing him of Godatz's Experiments of the Recipe-Bon, Confronting Godatz, Ginger and Kome-Kome the 1st try to reason with Godatz to not go through with his plans of Taking Everyones Food away, But Godatz was Too far gone for reason, Due to his Emotions becoming Corrupted by Greed, He created Proto-Ubauzo to battle Ginger where as Godatz himself battled Kome-Kome the 1st, In the fight Godatz ended up unleaching an Attack on Ginger that changed him completely but completely destroys his own Body, Rendering Godatz a Bodyless Energy Entity, CooKing and CooQueen Arrived to Eventually End the Battle by Trapping Godatz inside his own Creation the Recipe-Bon, Imprisoning him in the Last page, Whole Ginger claimed the Recipe-Bon should be Destroyed, CooKing and CooQueen Reassure him that as long as Recipe-Bon makes new pages, The final Page where Godatz is will never be reached, To make sure Ginger and Kome-Kome the 1st never Expose them, Both CooKing and CooQueen Used magics to Erase there memories to the Event. However that wouldn't solve the problem, Over the years, Godatz would not only Feed on the the Negative Emotions of All Cook-Fighters and Recipepe's that pass by the Recipe-Bon, But would have his own Influence within the Recipe-Bon itself, Waiting Patiently till the day he'll be freed, Leading up to his Eventual Escape and Possession of Fennel. Even if Godatz eventually get's Defeated by Delicious Party PreCure and, His Spirit will Ultimately Return to the Recipe-Bon as bit of a Respawn point, for the Next time someone messes with the Recipe-Bon and Get's possessed.

The eldest daughter of the Frankish King Baldwin II of Jerusalem and his Armenian wife Queen Morphia, Melisende held real power in Jerusalem in the the 12th century alongside three men: her father, her husband Fulk and her son Baldwin III. Le public était au rendez-vous, hier, au Théâtre National Mohammed V de Rabat pour soutenir les prestations des doctorantes et doctorants francophones issus de 20 pays !

  "Ce jeudi 5 octobre 2023, à l’issue de la neuvième finale internationale du concours « Ma thèse en 180 secondes » organisée à Rabat au Maroc, Camille Lakhlifi, Maëlle Bottin et Tégawindé Vanessa Rosette Boro ont remporté respectivement les 1er, 2e et 3e prix du jury. Hajar Akhoutir, a quant à elle obtenu le prix du public. En France le concours est organisé par le CNRS et France Universités.

  Camille Lakhlifi, doctorante de l’Université Paris Cité à l’Institut du cerveau et de la moelle épinière (CNRS/Inserm/Sorbonne Université), premier prix du jury de la finale française remporte la finale internationale du concours « Ma thèse en 180 secondes ».

  Elle a su convaincre le jury avec la présentation, en trois minutes, de son sujet de thèse : « Capacités métacognitives des clinicien.ne.s : quels liens entre la justesse objective des choix des (futur.e.s) médecins et leurs jugements de confiance subjectifs dans leurs connaissances et décisions sous incertitude ? » Elle est la seconde Française à remporter la finale du concours internationale, après Noémie Mermet, de l’Université Clermont Auvergne en 2014."
