today I am missing the thirteenth doctor and her ‘no gender only weird little guy’ vibes. she’s not good at letting stuff go she’s good at eating dirt and hiding things from her friends. she’s not a woman she’s four raccoons in a sky blue trench coat with the most compellingly autistic personality ever seen in an alien. she’s a disaster but she’s my disaster.

so you know how in space babies ruby is all like, are they growing the children for food, and the doctor responds really strongly how that's a silly idea? my dude, like a day ago you were both literally fighting goblins that feast on human babies, ruby made a perfectly reasonable guess here

watched the first dr who special episode and while there were a few lines that made me cringe, i do think a little bit of cringe is a reasonable price to pay for seeing a black trans girl get a starring role in the longest-running and arguably the most famous sci-fi show in history

River and Donna interacting in Silence in the Library kills me a little bit because both their worlds have just shifted off kilter. River's gone far enough back in the Doctor's timeline that she's found the one that doesn't know her yet, and who looks right through her. Donna's met someone from the Doctor's future who doesn't know her at all, but knows of her enough to say her name with awe and sorrow.

i just think if they're doing post-library big finish audios with River, it would be neat to get one with her and Donna ending up on an adventure and getting to chat a bit more

A tip for my fellow regressors

Charity shops can be a great place to get books for your little/middle self!

You can sometimes find older books there and you can buy them for very cheap. I go to at least one charity shop a week and I always find something interesting for under €5.

absolutely insane bit of doctor who lore i know is that at one point after losing rose (and i think before martha but it might have been between martha and donna—the point is that he was between companions at the time) the tenth doctor ended up with a cat that he called rose-the-cat who was capable of speech, piloting the tardis, and wearing a suit, but also got space fleas and fought with k-9 for literally no reason. and basically all rose-the-cat did was go “you pathetic little bitch stop moping over beautiful women and accept these space mice i’ve brought you” and the doctor would reply by crying harder and pulling his covers up over his head. anyways eventually rose-the-cat left (and then got adopted by rose tyler somehow) but she is credited with being one of the reasons the doctor even considered taking on new companions after rose. insane
