Felix Vero!

Born to the Old King and Queen of Solistan, Felix is the older of twin brothers. His albinism grants him strikingly white features and silvery lilac eyes that are quite sensitive to bright light.

At age ten, on an adventure in the woods nearby the palace, he meets Elliot Oran-Leonda who becomes his first real friend. They spend many days under Felix’s favorite willow tree there.

Elliot was the one to tell Felix his mother’s folk tales about the Honeythistle Feral nation, a place supposedly full of people who can transform into cats and foxes. These tales inspire Felix to conduct more research in the palace, leading him to meet Dr. James Oswald.

Alongside Oswald, Felix uncovers the truth behind the myths of Honeythistle and the secret behind the mysterious power: that it was never a secret to begin with. According to the texts, all people retain the ability to shapeshift.

Not knowing the full extent of the power, by age 13 Felix begins experimenting with trying to activate it within himself. Meanwhile, Oswald begins his plot to kill off the younger of the twins: Oliver Vero.

One night, Oswald finally slips into the prince’s shared room to end the young Oliver. Felix wakes up uneasy, and spotting Oswald about to attack, leaps to defend his twin.

At this moment, Time’s blessing awakens and as Oswald is about to gain the upper hand in the scuffle Felix transforms into his feline form and slips away. Running for his life now, Oswald accuses him of being an assassin who killed the eldest Prince.

Felix runs until he reaches the poorest parts of the city, where a kindly apothecary who has also awakened the blessing takes him in after recognizing the signs of a new transformation.

Felix is subsequently stuck as a cat for a week, and stuck with cat ears and tail for two more, cementing his death in the eyes of the law as he could not leave the apothecary’s house for fear of the soldiers

Once he returns to a fully human form, he finds the bakery Elliot had told him his mother owns, looking for a familiar face in the wake of chaos.

It turns out that when Elliot was ‘sick’ for a similar three weeks a few years back, he had also awakened the blessing.

Eleanor Oran-Leonda, Elliot’s mother, explains the dangers of being blessed in the city. The weary soldiers and the hateful king would have him and any others killed on the spot if they ever found out about their gift

Living with the fear of death over his head for something he had no true say in doesn’t quite sit right with him, so by the time Felix reaches 16 he is quickly becoming the figurehead of a slowly growing blessed movement

At age 19, the fighting finally breaks out: a blessed child was killed for using their gift to run away from a soldier harassing them. Felix watched.

With his meager royal swordsmanship training, Felix is put in charge of seasoning their ragtag troops for a full scale revolution that will put him on the throne.

At age 20, he meets Time Herself face-to-face. She reveals to him a second blessing, one of magic that will be the deciding factor in the fast approaching final conflict.

Oliver has joined their side after awakening his own blessing, but due to his severe injuries from the attack leading to it, he can only serve as intel from the palace.

Felix never sees him again after that meeting.

At age 22, Elliot proposes the night before the final battle. Overjoyed, Felix accepts.

Elliot kills him on that final battlefield, a mercy. It was quick.

In his last moments, Felix imparts his feline soul into Elliot, gifting him a ghost to empower him in the battle’s last moments.

Split in half, Felix’s soul cannot complete the journey to Time’s garden without Elliot. He is stuck in this limbo for years until Elliot saves him from the claws of death and they ascend as Aspects of Time together

I know Morgan and Wong's take on Mulder and Scully's relationship is controversial within fandom, to put it mildly, but I do have a sneaking admiration for it. Because I mean, where else are you going to get a show about the weird hazily-defined self-destructive cycle of interactions between two witty leads encountering the paranormal and otherworldly, with a male partner who constantly demonstrates a blatant disregard for a lot of social norms and customs that make him a bit of an arrogant jerk to those he doesn't know, further drawing his female colleague/accomplice into lying and covering for him at the expense of her own ability to have a normal life and ah fuck lads they only went and wrote Clara and Twelve twenty years early...

121: Under the Lake/Before the Flood - Season 9, Episodes 3 & 4: The Doctor and Clara land on an underwater base in the 22nd century, and see ghosts haunting the base. They find an alien ship on the base with strange writing on the wall. After checking it out, the ghosts attack them. While running away, the crew of the station brings them into a Faraday cage, which is able to keep the ghosts out. The ghosts are also unable to come out when the base is in day mode. The ghosts are intelligent and are working on programming it to constantly be night. They also sent a distress call, which the Doctor cancels and puts the base on lockdown, as he doesn't want the ghosts to succeed in getting out.

They lure the ghosts into the Faraday cage and trap them inside. One deaf crew member is able to read the lips of the ghosts repeated message, which the Doctor realizes are coordinates to the flooded town outside the base. They also realize the strange writing programmed the coordinates into their heads and are what make people become ghosts when they die. They send out a probe and return a stasis pod that they are unable to open. The changes to night and day mode at the base cause a system error and the base starts flooding. The Doctor and two crew members make it to the TARDIS, but Clara and the remaining crew are stuck on the other side of the flooded base. The Doctor takes the crew back to before the village flooded.

They arrive in the past, on the day the spaceship landed. They see that it is essentially a hearse, does not have the strange writing on the wall, and is manned by an alien whose ghost they saw in the future. He explains that he is transporting the body of the Fisher King. In the future, the ghost of the Doctor appears listing out the names of everybody in the order in which they died, including those who are still alive. In the past, they return to the ship to find the Fisher King escaped his tomb and the writing is on the wall. The Fisher King kills the alien, who becomes the first ghost. He soon kills one of the crew who becomes the second.

They take the TARDIS 30 minutes into the past, to when they first landed. The Doctor makes the remaining crew member wait on board the TARDIS and goes to confronts the Fisher King, who plans to turn everybody into ghosts to transmit a signal for his people to come rescue him. The Doctor bluffs by claiming that he erased the words on the ship. The Fisher King returns to his ship to rewrite the words, but finds them still there, just as a device the Doctor activated blows a whole in the dam, causing the flood. The Doctor enters the stasis pod himself, and the TARDIS returns to the future to avoid the flood.

In the future, he emerges from the stasis pod, and sends out a signal to get rid of the ghosts. He reveals that his own ghost was only a hologram that he projected. The rest of the crew get to safety, and the Doctor and Clara leave in the TARDIS.

129: Closing Time - Season 6, Episode 12: The Doctor goes to visit his friend Craig, who he'd met previously. Craig is looking after his baby while his wife takes a short vacation to rest. After noticing some electrical irregularities and a newspaper article about missing people, he gets a job at the toy department of a department store. Craig runs into him there the next day, and while taking the lift are teleported onto a Cyberman ship, but he reverses it and gets him and Craig to safety. He allows Craig to help him investigate the situation.

They discover that the Cyber-ship crashed centuries ago with a single survivor. Recent electrical work for the shop reactivated the ship and it has been slowly draining power and capturing people to convert. The Doctor makes it aboard the ship and is captured, but Craig follows him. They grab Craig and begin to convert him, but the sound of his baby crying causes a surge of emotion that overrides the Cyber programming and he escapes. The Doctor teleports them out and destroys the ship behind them.
