like. this is a music fandom that is built and treated like a video game fandom with the amount of aus and fan characters based on albums/singles being shipped with each other equivalent to sans "mom fucker" undertale and dave strider to the extent that it is the norm here (compared to other music fandoms, while stuff like this is seen in fandoms for the beatles, tally hall, will wood, etc. it's not as prevalent as it is here) that revolves around this one gnc aussie dude who's musical genre can only be defined as electric gay cabaret fabloo that posts banger after fucking banger not missing a single time while looking like a stoned 20 year old himbo who's name is trevor and works the subway next to the rundown gas station but is also surprisingly weirdly attractive while also being the chillest nicest guy ever who's doing nothing but fucking broozer posting on tumblr and is making a majora's mask fan album and can beat probably everyone on this earth at mario kart and some people hate this guy because he made seemingly "edgy" tally hall covers that fuck so hard actually also everyone here is decent and nice and really talented and also this guy can just pop on your doorstep on twitter and reblog some fanart of yours out of the blue even if you're a small artist which is terrifying slash positive also his name is chonny motherfucking jash which, fun fact, he's never listened to johnny cash before, he came up with that name while drunk What The Actual Fuck

there’s this trend on twitter/X where fans post photos of their cleavage with kpop idol photocards (typically male idols) sticking out of their bras/shirts and idk if i’m too woke or something but this seems to me like harassment toward the idols.

please remember that some of these idols are minors, and even for those who are of age, i don’t think any of those idols would appreciate this kind of content targeted towards them. you’d think they wouldn’t see it but c’mon, so many idols are chronically online now. you really think they won’t see it? especially when you tag the official group accounts and their names??

the replies under each post are typically very sexual in nature too, either toward the op, idol or both. some fans even go so far as to put the photocards in the hem of their pants/underwear. again, gross.

it’s frankly quite sickening watching kpop stans do something demeaning towards idols just for the “trend” or “a hit tweet���. it’s even more sickening that it’s so widespread that it’s become normalized and people, especially the younger crowd, don’t see any issue with what they’re doing anymore because “everyone else is doing it”.

let's go back to the last two points in part i (starting with 'now hear me out'): i replayed the whole scene and turns out i was wrong. here's why: 1) never write any theories at 5 am 2) never take things out of the context. sorry for misleading you, lemme make some amends:

if you choose the 'keep touching him' option, leander will notice how desperate and touchstarved mc is (he's constantly pausing before speaking: afraid of hurting anyone with his words or skillfully manipulating? i know it's the latter, but what if it's both? 👁), keeps eliciting information and, when his suspicions are confirmed, he puts his trusted weapon to use: flirting (empty flattery, as vere said). we all know he's lying and he's not infatuated with mc at all (his pulse was steady). BUT!!

power?? is that some kind of doublespeak because leander doesn't want to mention the curse and ruin the moment OR is it a slip, and the curse is not a curse but something that mc just cannot control (yet?)? 🤔

for now the 'level-headed' line in the context seems to be used just for building mc's trust, not for hinting that controlling the curse is difficult; same with "we match" — to stress that everything is okay, and leander's completely reliable, because hey! he and mc are alike! (i am squinting suspiciously here though, i still have a hunch he means so much more) however, that's yet to be seen how much truth leander actually reveals in his speech.

the question is: why does leander need mc to trust him with their life? he can control the curse, can he teach mc how to do that? or does he want to use them however he likes, feeding them lies and using mc's "curse" (or even mc) as a weapon? much to think about.jpg

What’s wrong with Bychance?

It’s not that I HATE bychance it’s just that chance isn’t a good person and I really doubt that will would like/date him.

I mean chance did in fact bully, hunt and attack wills friends in season 4, and I really don’t think will would just accept that and like/date him.

But don’t get me completely wrong I don’t wanna be classified as a toxic byler (I’ve seen toxic bylers and milkvans and I don’t want to be part of that) and IF and ONLY IF chance wouldn’t have been an “antagonist” (by yk BULLYING HUNTING AND ATTACKING wills friends) and would have been a supportive character by maybe idk telling jason hunting down and killing Eddie (and his friends yk hellfire/hawkins gang) was taking it too far, I would have been cool with bychance but yk he was part of that and supported jason in attempted murder (directed to eddie and WILLS FRIENDS) so I seriously doubt will would ever consider dating chance.

But I can still see bychance as an option if chance wasn’t such a dick and all the season 4 shit with the basketball team didn’t happen.

I’m not telling you to stop shipping it ok it’s your choice but shipping it hardcore is a bit far (saying this as someone who before all the drama started liked bychance I didn’t ship unless it was for byler plot purposes but I did like it).

thoughts on thistle and yaad's dynamic that i vomited in the tags of another post but will now try to articulate here: they're not actually family, or at least they shouldn't be. not in a conventional sense anyway. framing them as uncle and nephew (even in a non-literal, silly fantasy world way) rides more on technicality than anything concrete.

what i mean by this is yaad calls thistle by name and says he and delgal were raised "like" brothers. he talks about thistle like he's an outsider imposing himself into the melinis' space, and it's clear that thistle was never legitimized as a member of the family. for thistle's part, though we don't know how he would treat yaad pre-demon brainrot, it's safe to assume based on the way he punishes him—turning him into a doll—and how little is shown in the way of any sort of relationship between them that thistle only cares* about yaad as an extension of delgal (otherwise i'd expect something like kabru and milsiril, because it's not like another complicated interspecies family dynamic would be out of place, yet there's next to nothing on them even in bonus content, just their scant interactions in the main story).

in essence, they're strangers to one another. thistle's desperation to preserve the illusion of a family, a model where he doesn't even fit, was the snare they were caught in for the past thousand years of stasis. yaad-as-nephew is a prop to uphold that illusion, and thistle is playing a role he's unfit to play. in the context of post-canon interactions, attempting to reconstruct that facade would only be a reenactment of trauma for them both (in a deeply compelling way i'd love to watch unfold, tbh), as that "uncle and nephew" framing places thistle in an implicit position of power over someone he's already traumatized through misuse of authority in the past, a role which also perpetuates his adultification and yaad's infantilization in turn. it'd mostly be an obstacle to any real connection.

best to burn the melini family bridge, i think, and if there's still anything salvageable left in the rubble, let something different supplant it.

1. you believe randall will and/or should be redeemed, there's still potential/good in him

2. you think randall is too far gone, he's too evil to be redeemed and maw will continue to keep him as a villain

3. you hope randall is redeemed, but don't realistically see the show giving him that arc so he'll probably remain as a villain

4. you don't want randall to be redeemed, he's too far gone & it doesn't make sense, but maw will probably make him good in the end

I wonder the same thing you did when he posted the picture of Lando and everyone knew Lando was fighting Max for the title. Even though Daniel blocked eyeryone and didn't contact anyone but I think he knew the intensity between the two of them was rising. And did he post that in a way that was clearly supportive of Lando? I know Daniel and Max have a good relationship and Daniel has always supported Max, but his relationship with Lando can't be ignored. I think it's deeper than what we see. And Lando was with him on his last day in SG and had tears in his eyes about having to say goodbye. Did that make Daniel so emotional that he just turned to supporting Lando and ignoring everyone else?

like i know i was delving into interpersonal angst because honestly im in the daniel sads a bit esp with regards to his leaving and on a dando kick because those pics awoke something in me but to be VERY CLEAR.

I don't think Daniel would support Lando over Max in a title fight. It's not about Red Bull, it's about MAX. That's his boy. That's his rookie, that's the boy he saw turn into a man and into a champion. Even if they fight they always come back to each other. I always think back to that video of Daniel congratulating Max on the superlicence and Max being like "he's a nice guy" in a way that made it sound like a crush had probably taken hold and how they were at that karting thing when Max was tiny...and it's just...invisible strings and all that. Daniel wouldn't push on the last lap of his career for anyone. Only Max. "if it's not me, i'm glad it's him" isn't the sort of thing that can be washed away by anyone, least of all something as silly as WDCs and retirements. Love to Lando and the gorgeous rpf-ability of him just flying to Daniel's farm but like. I got the sense Daniel was confused as to why he was there and making a mess of his kitchen. He loves Lando but it's different to how he loves Max, in my opinion. Max is different because he's Max.

in lieu of having posted any writing/headcanons/asks in the past few days because i have been *so* busy and unable to do anything fandom-related which is terrible and evil, i have a poll out of morbid curiosity and self-indulgence. i've been meaning to ramble here about how i feel about DC's lack fo Deaf representation and which Batfam members i would personally make Deaf, but i am mildly curious about the larger opinion and now i will subject you all to the question, i would love to hear thoughts/opinions/headcanons on any specific choices. (would love d/Deaf/HoH opinions esp but i'm mostly expecting this to reach the hearing crowd, so opinions from hearing ppl are ones i'm very curious about. if you've never given it thought before you are going to now or else /lh)
