We are all human, and deserve to be treated as such.

Remember: Humans are persistence hunters. It may take time, but we can come out on top as long as we don’t give in.

I apologize for getting serious, as I want to keep this blog as lighthearted as possible, even if I do not use it much.

Words cannot describe how upset I am about the results of this election. Ive never been more devastated in my life, but I just want to say that you are NOT alone. If you ever need anything, you can talk to me, and there are other resources to turn to. DO NOT kill yourself.

There are things to live for and look forward to, there will always be a brighter future ahead. Just wait, be patient. I know things seem difficult, and I know how helpless and fruitless things might seem right now, I UNDERSTAND.

But keep fighting. Do NOT give them what they want.

Still need you to remember you have so much more power than just a vote. You can sign petitions, organize protests, support & organize unions, help your local communities however you can - schools, work places, fundraisers, shelters, etc etc.

You have so much more power than they want you to think. Don't suppress or ignore your feelings but keep going, it's not over. Change takes time, but nothing will change if everyone stays stagnant.

Life is weird now.

It’s weird to go about the mundane after living all of yesterday gripped in a panic attack.

It’s weird to wake up and walk downstairs and to only be awake for thirty seconds before my mother tells me that he won.

It’s weird to go to school and find my partner waiting for me in the theatre, their eyes puffy from crying.

It’s weird to go to class and hear my professor apologize for his generation failing us.

It’s weird scrolling on Tumblr and seeing more and more people panicking as the people around me in real life go about their day with a kind of quiet anxiety.

It’s weird that now I’m just calm.

Because I can’t do anything now.

I couldn’t even do anything in the election, I can’t vote yet.

He won.

And life is going to suck.

But we have to keep going.

Gather your information and figure out your next steps, whether it be healthcare, moving, or even just getting through the next day.

And then put your phone down and do something else.

Stop doomscrolling and spiraling.

Go for a walk, read a book, play a video game, watch a show, watch a movie, cook or bake something, write fanfiction, draw, exercise, take a nap, scream into the abyss.

Go about the mundane.

We will figure this out.

But we can’t do that if everyone is panicking.

Stay safe everyone.

Listen. I get it. Things are tough right now. I am banking on there being foul play. But even if this wasn’t a bad dream, there is still a light. Do not end your life, no matter the hand you’re dealt. If you do so:

You will inflict pain on those who love/care about you. At the least, you are just transferring the misery. At the worst, you are multiplying it tenfold. Don’t hurt those who want to help.

You would be giving those against you the satisfaction. They want you dead. Don’t give it to them. Not now, not ever.

Last and most importantly:

You owe it to yourself. You have a huge life ahead of you. This is temporary. Even if it takes years, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. All until you end it. If you stop sculpting the statue of your life in the part where it looks the worst, where it has all sorts of vandalism from those who hate you. If you stop there, that mess is permanent.

We have lost the battle, but not the war. Keep fighting. Keep living. Keep surviving.
