A/N: Had to do 2012 Donnie, because it feels like a long time ago since I last did one for him💜

In the heart of the bustling sewers beneath New York City, Donatello was deeply engrossed in his latest project. The soft glow of computer screens illuminated his determined features as he meticulously tinkered away, his mind swimming with circuits and algorithms, moving back and forth between his monitor and the large machine that stood proudly in the middle of his lab, slowly growing larger with each passing day.

Donnie was fully caught up in his work, his tongue poking out the side of his mouth, as he watched his fingers move with concentration, that he did not see you enter the lab.

You stood at the entrance of Donnie's lab, a worried expression furrowing your brow as you watched him work. Long had there been a worrisome topic, that you had wanted to turn over with your turtle boyfriend, knowing it was best to bring it up so you could talk about it, instead of staying silent, letting the problem grow until there was no way to fix it. You admired Donnie’s brilliance, and his intellect that seemed to know no bounds, but sometimes, it left you feeling inadequate. Doubts gnawed at the corners of your mind, whispering cruel thoughts about your own intelligence compared to his. In some ways, you felt horrible for even thinking that Donnie would think less of you, due to lesser intellect, but if you were a genius like him, you would probably feel alienated, especially when your own partner did not know what you were talking about, and simply unable to understand. You loved listening to Donnie’s drawn out explanation, even if you didn’t understand a word. But it was the way his eyes would light up, and how his body would move with sudden energy, and a bright smile on his face. It made it all worth it, even if you were too dim to follow along.

With a heavy sigh, you finally spoke up, your voice hesitant yet tinged with concern, as you slowly stepped into the lab. "Hey, Donnie?"

Donnie glanced up from his work, his eyes softening as they met yours, along with a smile, obviously happy to see your unannounced visit to the lair. "Hey, (Y/N). What’s you doing down here? Did you text? I didn’t see your message".

You hesitated, fidgeting with the hem of your shirt nervously. That caused Donnie to halt in his movements, his eyes focusing on your hands. It was obvious to him that you weren’t just down here to say hello.

"I... I've been thinking”. That sounded like the start of a sentence, that Donnie only could fear the ending of. His heart increased in speed, and his mind raced, praying that you weren’t about to say the thing that would tear his world apart. “Do you ever... worry that I'm not smart enough for you?"

Your question was almost a relief for Donnie, who had feared something way worse. He blinked at you for a moment, before he finally realized what you were asking about. Donnie's expression softened with understanding as he set aside his tools, his attention fully on you now, his arms reaching out for you, asking you to come closer. "Oh, (Y/N), no. Never for a second. You're incredibly smart in your own way".

You blinked, surprised by his response. "But... but you're a genius, Donnie. And I'm just... me. Sometimes it feels like I can't keep up with you, like I'm always a step behind whenever you talk about your projects".

Donnie reached out, gently taking your hand in his own, his fingers gliding over your soft skin in soothing and comforting motions. "Being intelligent isn't just about knowing facts and figures, (Y/N). It's about understanding, creativity, and so much more. And in those areas, you shine brightly. I mean, look at your art! Your drawings, your paintings. Even Mikey is jealous of those".

You swallowed back the lump forming in your throat, touched by his words. You looked down on your hands in his strong three fingers once, blinking away a few tears. "But what if I mess up? What if I'm not enough for you?"

"Don't you see?" Donnie's voice was earnest, his gaze unwavering. "You are more than enough. You bring a perspective to the table that I could never have on my own. You challenge me, inspire me, and make me see things in a different light. That's what makes our relationship special. And I love you. That is more than enough for me".

Tears welled up in your eyes, a mix of relief and gratitude flooding through you. "Thank you, Donnie. I needed to hear that".

He smiled warmly, pulling you into a gentle embrace. "Anytime, (Y/N). I'm here for you, always".

And as you leaned into his embrace, the doubts that once plagued your mind began to fade away, replaced by a newfound sense of confidence in the love you shared with the brilliant turtle who held your heart. In the heart of the genius, there was always room for love, understanding, and acceptance. And together, you knew you could weather any storm that came your way.

“I love you, Donnie”, you said, your face buried against his shoulder, feeling warm and comfortable in his arms.

You felt his chest vibrate with a small chuckle, before he pressed his lips to the side of your head, kissing the side of your temple. “I love you too, (Y/N)”. He pulled from the hug, before using his foot to reach out for another chair, letting it roll over next to him. “But now that you’re here, do you want to help me? I really need your thoughts on something”.

You smiled at Donnie, happy that his statement about your perspective in things wasn't just something he said to make you feel better, but something he actually meant. And so you took a seat next to him, smiling brightly as he showed you what he had worked on.

It was supposed to be an easy night in the lair, but things got wild fast. Splinter’s wife had gone out to gather supplies, and that meant the boys had one big task: keep Hana occupied and out of trouble. At four years old, Hana was a force to be reckoned with. She was tiny but packed with curiosity and energy that kept everyone on their toes. No matter what they did to entertain her, she’d get bored eventually and start pushing boundaries just for fun.

“Alright, Hana,” Leo said, taking the lead as always, “we’re gonna play some games and then settle down for the night, okay?”

Hana grinned, nodding, but she was already plotting. After playing dolls with Raph, a bit of drawing with Leo, and storytime with Donnie, she was still full of energy, and her brothers had their hands full just keeping up with her. After an hour of games, though, her attention drifted, her eyes darting around the lair, looking for something else to do.

When she spotted Mikey sneaking snacks in the kitchen, a mischievous smile crept onto her face. She darted over to him and tugged on his arm. “Mikey, let’s play ninja!”

Mikey couldn’t resist her little grin. “Alright, kiddo, what kind of ninja game we talking about?”

“You try to catch me,” she challenged, already tiptoeing away.

And that’s how it started. Hana went full spy mode, slipping between shadows and darting into hiding spots all over the lair, always just out of Mikey’s reach. He’d been trying to catch her for almost twenty minutes when he realized he’d actually lost track of her.

Mikey finally gathered up the rest of his brothers, looking sheepish. “Okay, guys, maybe I… might’ve lost her.”

Leo’s eyes widened in seconds. “YOU WHAT?” he took a deep breath “Alright, spread out. She couldn’t have gone far.”

Meanwhile, Hana had snuck her way into Donnie’s lab, where her curiosity got the better of her. She was fascinated by all the gadgets Donnie was always working on, and there was this one beeping device that was flashing lights. She couldn’t help herself; she reached out and poked a button. Instantly, it lit up and made a loud *beep*, and she gasped, ducking under the table as footsteps approached.

The door swung open, and Donnie stepped in, sighing as he saw the device lit up. “Alright, Hana, come on out,” he said, trying not to laugh. “Curiosity’s cool, but you know the lab’s a no-touch zone.”

Hana crawled out, giving him a sheepish grin. “I just wanted to see…”

Donnie couldn’t help smiling, ruffling her hair. “Tell you what—sit here, and I’ll show you how it works. Sound good?”

Hana’s eyes lit up, and she clambered onto a stool beside him, watching as he explained each little button and screen on the gadget. She was listening so intently she barely noticed when her other brothers peeked in to make sure she was still there.

“Found her, huh?” Raph said, crossing his arms as he leaned against the doorway.

“More like she found us,” Donnie replied, laughing.

Just then, they heard the front door slide open, and everyone perked up as Splinter stepped inside, back from his errand. His eyes softened as he took in the scene—Hana perched on Donnie’s stool, the others gathered around.

“Papa!” Hana hopped off the stool and dashed toward him, her face lighting up.

Splinter scooped her up, his eyes full of warmth as he held her close. “Were you good for your brothers, Hana?”

She hesitated, then looked up at him, clearly debating how much to admit. “Umm… mostly?”

Her honesty made Splinter chuckle, and he patted her head, setting her down and joining her and the boys in the main room. Hana instantly tugged on his hand, her eyes full of excitement as she told him what she and her brothers did.

Splinter watched with quiet amusement as she talks, then scooped her up onto his lap, settling in for some quiet time with her. The other turtles gathered around, glad to finally have a chance to relax too. Mikey decided to have a little movie night with his family when their mom came over, excited to spend a little more time with the family before she too fell asleep.

Hana remained on Splinter's lap, the two talking when a scene from the movie that they let her choose. Splinter gave his daughter a small caress in her hair, receiving a loving look from his wife.

By the end of it, Hana was curled up, eyelids drooping as she tried to keep up with the movie but eventually, sleep took over. Raph pulled a blanket around her, and Splinter smiling as he looked around at his sons, all leaning in close.

“You’ve done well tonight,” he murmured to them, his voice filled with pride.

because I'm the shield

I was trying to write a little scene between rise Raph and Mikey since his overprotectiveness is something they've argued about. But that's turning out slower than I expected and will have to be for another time--maybe will fit a different prompt when it's done, who knows.

I've been rewatching some of 2003 season 4 and having feelings about shield Raph.

Fight scenes do show a lot of him throwing himself between his brothers and physical harm. But season 4, with the family relationships strained, highlights something else, which is Raph shielding his brothers from Master Splinter and each other. Especially Leo.

I learned from the tmnt fandom that sai is meant to defend against sword. And that's so fitting for these two.

Raph defending his brothers from Master Splinter mostly looks like being the loudest and most openly rebellious to draw attention away from (honestly mostly Leo and Donnie) blatantly doing what they're not supposed to do (like traveling to an alternate dimension without telling anyone or fighting the Foot alone. Seriously they call him and Mikey the impulsive ones??). And Splinter isn't a danger to the turtles, he is very loving in 03, but his opinion matters to them and Raph makes himself the squeaky wheel so the others can stay squeaky clean.

But about Leo. Two things going on season 4: Raph is (trying to) protect Leo from his own inner thoughts, verbally replying to his anxieties with positives or neutrals; and Raph is on guard to keep Leo off Don and Mikey's case.

I just watched Aliens Among Us and found it especially sweet when they're all on the roof to watch the President how Raph and Leo interact. Leo is upset with Don and Mikey for fooling around, and says out loud that by even coming to watch they 'may as well ask to be dissected.' (Because it's gonna be a Bishop episode so Leo obviously has to foreshadow that. They just had Bad Day, they will not watch as the various enemies their memories pulled from do in fact torment them.) Anyway, it's the way he keeps a pretty calm, almost lighthearted tone while he talks Leo down from his catastraphizing, drawing attention away from his other brothers who were getting yelled at in the process. And this is just an example of how Raph acts this season.

side note, I adore how these two specifically could be talking about their favorite flavor of potato chips and look like they're plotting a murder. This is a picture of Raph getting as close as he can to physically beating up Leo's inner demons.

Another small moment in this episode that I loved: Raph grabbing Leo by the shoulder with, "Whoa, where are you going? Don't you think we need a plan?" and Leo's plan is 'take out every alien we see.' This is not a Leo at the top of his game, in spite of what he told Splinter last episode about 'doing whatever it takes to protect this family.' Raph knows it. He and Leo have different strengths and different approaches, but he knows a healthy Leo would be analyzing the situation, briefing them all on what they should most likely be prepared for and what information they lack that everyone should keep an eye out for. Leo is an analyst, that's one of his greatest strengths. And he's not doing that.

it's literally like 'hey bro are you okay? you've barely picked apart the enemy's battle strategy or lurked in the shadows.' Leo isn't doing the things he loves and Raph notices.

Also speaking of Bad Day. Here's a picture of Raph telling Donny it's not his fault.

Again he looks like he's plotting murder but he is actually speaking in the softest sweetest voice to his stressed out little brother. This is a turtle who just watched his best friends get blown up by people who were looking for him and his family.

- You got up , went to the bathroom and made a be line to the kitchen

- Your hunger got the best of you in mornings like this

- Your eyes fell upon your favourite cereal

- As you grabbed your food a song that kept replaying in your head ringed in your eyes

- The urge to sing opened your mouth

- As you sung , it was almost like the room lit up

- The words that fell so gracefully out of your lips

- The way someone could ever put so much emotion into one song

- As you grabbed the milk a familiar presence stood in the arch way of your door , listening.

- You didn’t notice him. The way he swayed to your siren song

- The way his heart felt whole hearing your voice this early on in the morning

- Your heart soured as the words felt stronger coming from you

- This wasn’t just any voice

- This was one of love

- You sung from your heart , which many people fail to do

- Donnie made his way to you as the song from your sweet lips faded away

- You saw don standing there with a sleepy love look in his eye

- You gulped as don stood with his signature smirk

- You so wanted to just wipe the look on his face away as you felt your cheeks heat up

- “Didn’t know you could sing so sweet, angel…”

Raph

- raph texted you a while ago

- He thought you had read it, oh how he was wrong

- As he made his way to your apartment up high in New York he felt as though something was pulling him towards you

- That was when he heard it.

- Your sweet , sweet, voice

- Not talking. No.

- You were…. Singing?

- He made sure to look through the window again and saw you sitting on your counter

- You were singing , so effortlessly

- Almost like , a siren

- Your song felt pulling , bringing his hand to knock on the window

- Raph hesitated.

- No. He shouldn’t sneak and listen to you without you knowing

- But, you sounded so beautiful

- Another second wouldn’t hurt , would it?

- Your song ringed in his ears , he felt as though you were singing to him.

- And only him.

- As you finished your singing you opened your eyes

- You could feel as though someone was staring at you.

- Someone peaking.

- You made your way to what you call ‘raph’s window

- You could see a dark shadow of your boyfriend out side

- You opened the glass to spot a guilty looking raph

- “Uhh hi … you sounded beautiful by the way”

- A sorry smile plastered his face. You chuckled at his cute antics and let him in.

Leo

- you were drawing away at desk , noise cancelling headphones on

- As you slightly tapped your foot , your mouth moved faster than you could think

- And you started singing

- What you didn’t know is that Leo had texted you that he was going to you place

- A blue light shone through your room as Leo stepped through the portal

- The noise and light seemed to go over your shoulder as your singing grew more passionate by the second

- Leo stood there stunned by the sight.

- You drawing , what he could only see was him.

- Whilst you were singing, almost pulling him in

- Like a siren song.

- His grin grew as your singing became more beautiful

- Your voice more graceful than ever

- He clearly saw that you didn’t spot him

- Perfect.

- He pulled out his phone to record your little ditty.

- He hesitated.

- He could hear mind raph booming in his head telling not to

- For once he listened , as he felt it was best this memory was just between the two of you

- Well just him for now

- Your turned on your chair to get up when you saw your familiar smug turtle boyfriend standing , watching you

- You just…didn’t realise that he would be so early

- Mikey was about to knock on your living room window

- Indicating to let him in.

- But a song was ringing around your apartment.

- Your voice could be heard for miles as he sat and watched you

- All dolled up for the date

- You were singing so happy and beautifully

- He had to sit and watch

- The way your voice sounded so alluring

- His heart skipped a beat as you ended the song and looked to exactly where his was standing

I don't typically like to talk about my personal stuff but...

I had a really rough day today. I've been struggling to find a full-time job that not only lets me do what I adore, but also pays well too. I've been struggling for much longer than I'd like to admit, and I tend to bottle my negative emotions and hide them away until it reaches a boiling point and I kinda... explode. And apparently today was exploding day. I blew up, sobbed, the whole shebang.

I don't want to get any more personal than that, but I just wanted to let you know how lovely this was to see, how special it made me feel. This year my part-time job has been difficult and I've felt underappreciated at times. I have been pouring out my heart in my artwork and my writing, especially in DM Mikey. It just... it feels good to know that it's appreciated and loved.

Okay so although I haven't watched httyd, (aside from the first movie) I'm going off the assumption that the reader is a human-light+night fury hyrbrid. It's a mouthful to say, but that's what I'm assuming from your request!

Okay personally, I feel Mikey would have a much easier time obsessing over y/n this way, and you can find him sketching, drawing or painting them in his sketchbook. He'd be a little violating in his artwork, and if you carefully looked through it you'd see him drawing y/n's scales very accurately... Even if they never showed him all of their scales. Makes you think about how much of y/n he's seen...

Donnie however, is a little less weird and violating, but will be pretty excited and amazed to see Y/n in action, especially seeing how they fight and he even lets y/n be his inspiration for future tech projects! He might even try to take a small sample of y/n's scales... Just in case :) it's not like he's gonna try to make a test tube baby out of y/n's dna.... Right? What would he even need that for..?

Leo would try to ride y/n and make them fly with him at first sight, I'm sorry but he would. He's just annoying like that. But try not to get all buddy-buddy with him. Next thing you know y/n's got a collar around their neck and they won't be able to fly at all.

Raph... We all know he's a little sweetie right? But we often forget he's the well-meaning but bossy older brother that is lowkey really annoying and overprotective. What I'm trying to say is.... He's going to be doing a LOT of coddling. And he won't be doing it in the baby-ish, cutesy way either. He'll micromanage and try to follow y/n's every move, and he'll panic even more if they try to fly away from their issues. (Aka him: he's the issue.) But another route you could go with this, is that y/n impresses him and they quickly become sparring partners. Although, it'll get shut down relatively quickly when he finds out what happens when he doesn't hold back his strength against y/n... Maybe seeing their crumpled body isn't so worth the sparring practices after all... Yikes.

The updated designs on the turtles look incredible but of course; Leon is best boy. All of this praise aside; I do have a few questions:

1. When does Runt move in with the turtles?

2. What is Runt's and Splinter's relationship like? Is it antagonistic at first or is it full of comfort?

3. Has Runt ever tried pizza? If so what is his reaction to it?

4. Will the disaster twins be even more chaotic then usual with their relationship?

Im glad you like the redesigns, I had been putting it off for so long. Mostly because I didn't want to draw Raph and I was talked out of killing him so I didn't have to draw him.

1 - Runt moves in with the turtles after the bug busters episodes, not so much by his own choice. He had suffered from a bad migraine but powered on only to get hurt by Draxum and then thrown off a roof. So he wasn't having the best of time. The boys took him back to the lair and Runt did try and escape but it ended with him running into a wall. So he stayed until for maybe 2 days? or well until he thought, it was reasonable time to go, and ran back to the Hidden City. After that he kept coming back to to the mission.

2 - Runt and splinters relationship... it's not really antagonistic so to speak. Runt defiantly isn't friendly with splinter at first. Runts more focused on his mission (the brothers) to really pay him much mind. So for the most part Runt will ignore him. It’s not really until splinter tires to make an effort and open up about his own migraines to runt that things slowly change. Splinter teaches him how to make tea and they have late night tea when they both can’t sleep

Very slow progress though, there’s things later on that strains the relationship slightly.

3 - since he grew up sheltered up until his first mission, he hasn’t really had a chance to eat a lot of different types of food. However it wasn’t until he was living in the lair full time, is when he started to experiment with foods but that was mostly Mikes doing. His first tasting was overwhelming for him and had refused to eat the rest. But it wasn’t until later where he started to crave it. And he would secretly go to the fridge at night until mikey saw him try and. Much to ruby’s horror. strawberries are his favourite though. Not allowed a lot of sugar after last time.

4. - The lair games really set into motion the rivalry and competitiveness between them. Runt love challenges, he’s competitive by nature but all from his training. He finds joy in tormenting Donnie. Sadly I haven’t got much yet for them but don’t worry they will have the disaster twin title.

5 - Runt grows to love turtle piles. They’re warm and cosy where he can burrow into them. I haven’t thought of when his first one would happen but I know he’d probably flinch away. Unsure as to what’s going on. Once he does hell still be a bit stiff and be on edge. He’s act like nothings wrong but will slip the first he gets. It’s his mission to get close to the brothers so he’ll do this that make him uncomfortable if it means he’ll get in their good books.

I'm curious about her interactions with the brothers/April/the Caseys! I’ll probably do some art eventually on how each of them individually meet/find out about her but for now here are each of their first impressions.

🧡: Mikey was actually the first to find out about sluggy (not the fact she’s an alien tho). At first he was worried about Leo sneaking out and not telling any of them where he was going, but when he found out Leo was hanging out with a friend he was happy to let it slide seeing as it would be good for Leonardo’s emotional recovery from the invasion. When they met Mikey was a little weirded out by her actions but soon warmed up to her after finding out that she loves eating! If he ever has leftovers or scraps she’s the first one to call.

💜: Donnie was the second to find out. While leo could lie perfectly fine, Mikey isn’t so good. When Leo had reluctantly introduced them donnie was a bit skeptical but nothing too bad, though he didn’t like how much she tended to interrupt him. This gets worse after they find out she’s an alien. Donnie takes the longest to warm up to Sluggy but once he does he won’t stop trying to run tests on her. Leo doesn’t let her go in the lab alone anymore…

❤️: Raph doesn’t know what to think when he meets Sluggy. She’s nice and doesn’t seem dangerous but she’s new and came out of nowhere. After the invasion Raph got a little less trusting so he tried to find out about her past but nothing came up. After it’s revealed Sluggy is an alien he quickly gets defensive but soon finds out she’s not a threat seeing how attached she is to Leo. They eventually become close and he welcomes her to the group. Sluggy is a little too easy to trick so Raph often keeps her out of trouble when there together. It also gives him an excuse to crochet more sweaters seeing as Sluggy doesn’t have much of a wardrobe.

💛: April is the doesn’t think much of Sluggy at first, and doesn’t see why Donnie has such a problem with her. She doesn’t interact much with Sluggy but is able to see pretty early on that she isn’t a threat in anyway (especially after seeing her get tangled in her own arms). After the reveal that she’s an alien April is a bit worried at first but is quickly reminded that Sluggy isn’t a threat (she got stuck in a trashcan) and Leo seemed to genuinely trust her. April also helped donnie warm up to Sluggy.

💚: Casey thinks it’s great that Leo was making friends outside of their family and covers for Leo on nights when he sneaks out. He doesn’t remember her from the future but a lot had changed since they succeeded in stopping the invasion. However after it’s revealed that she’s an alien Casey immediately changes this attitude. He becomes genuinely uncomfortable around her and avoid any interaction they could have. Casey is still warming up to her but is finding it easy to bond over their lack of knowledge about their new home.

I’ll probably post more interactions between them when I get the chance! If anyone has any questions about the dynamics between Sluggy and the rest of the turtles feel free to ask!👍

I really like this redraw. After the kraang attack, he had to have a knee brace, so mikey had raph and donnie draw on it with him. He made a bandana with his brothers colors and embroidered his brothers initials on it. I think he knows how to sew and do embroidery. I gave him more markings cause I'm a suckered for details. I made a little comic on the bottom that adds to mikeys little picture of him stuck in a tree. There's a chance that donnies or raphs, whichever one is done first, will take a bit longer to do...mabye.

I'm not entirely clear on what this question means. he has other interests outside stem, but in my verse his focus is much more on computer science and mechanical engineering than any other field of science, so he kind of doesn't gaf about biology or anything organic or "squishy." if that was the question. other interests include grindcore music, transformers, my little pony (the toys), swimming, gambling, arguing on forums, sculpting, 3d animation, girls, and other things.

Alright so art rant here. I've been pretty out of practice of digital art for a while and this whole fandom has deeply inspired me. I'm really appreciative.

Raph: This was my first one and I was not used to the brushes and some of the layer capabilities of my program but overall I like it. The pose is nice and I originally had a sketch of a blank OC template in his lap to customize if ever I wanted. The background ain't halfbad but I think Donnie's is my fav.

Mikey: Probably my favorite for color balance and lighting. The angle was very fun also. Also those ripped jeans were fun. Very little to complain about except that I wish I found the speckle brush for this one. Overall my favorite of the four.

Leo: Super lazy on the background, but the angle was fun to try and emphasize his muscles and waist. Absolutely vivid I love the colors. I'm awful at finishing flat colors before shading and keep mxing up the layers for them but you can't tell from the pic. Need to learn how to color reflective material better, the sword is very mediocre I know I can do better if I learn.

Donnie: Absolutely my favorite background even though it's simple. I may have set the foreground a bit too dark to see his features clearly but it's fine for now. I cannot refrain myself from drawing suspicious bulges in Donnie's pants even in otherwise SFW stuff.

All of them: I need to remember to color their nails properly lol otherwise extremely happy about these. Great warm up drawings to put oil in my gears. I have better understanding of colors and brushes.

Having them all done now has unblocked my mental obsession and now I can start drawing unrestrained smut more art for these wonderful men 😈

The box turtle yelled through the halls of their lair as the amizing scent of Mikets favorite food started fading from the fridge that was now empty with only crumbs in it. Mikey looked around the halls to see if anyone was watching him and he quickly checked the others rooms, there were plates and crumbs of his dishes he prepared with love for his foods and care, Mikey groaned, his mood turning into a slightly Grumpy one as he had a petty plan to get back at them, he opened the cabinets to search for his brothers favorite things to eat/ drink, he found Leo's favorite Jupiter Jim chips, Donnies favorite coffe chocolate and Raph's favorite ghost-scream of agony (ghostbears sponsored icecream) and hid them somewhere in his room.

Donnie came back from the "trash hunting" (he was searching in the trash for any metal parts) mean while Raph and Leo came back from their training, they all whanted to munch on their favorite foods, but they were all gone, the brothers did rebuild their stash before they went away so they knew that they didn't eat it and started blaming each other from begin hangry.

4 If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

Hmm… I went back and forth a lot with this. Star Trek is right there… but I choose Over the Garden Wall. His skillset would be distinct there, and it could be interesting to watch how his mechanical mind does, or sometimes doesn’t, come in handy in the various metaphysical situations they find themselves in. Also, it’s a story about family, and trauma is a big recurring theme. I think there could be interesting opportunities both for him to grow and to help. He’d be older than Wirt and Greg and would definitely try to help—but would they trust him? He’s a big talking turtle and he’s carrying a weapon. He and Beatrice would get along I think, but Wirt also doesn’t trust her. Greg would remind him so much of Mikey it hurts.

I don’t know, I feel like this one is a nice compromise between others I was thinking of. He’d get to use his skills but wouldn’t be too useful, lots of new different things for him to explore and learn about, some friends for him to make, some horrors to be had.

21 if you write fanfiction, what do you enjoy doing with this character? what do you dislike?

I like making Donny heal. Whether it looks like telling someone about what’s been weighing on him, a slow adjustment to a new situation, pursuing a healthy relationship and making himself an identity outside of his trauma… the common thread is, it’s comforting and fun to write about his life getting better after all the horrors he’s seen. I project on this guy like crazy, legit sometimes my stories start out as personal pieces exploring how I might take action to heal from past events, but make him do it instead because his hurts are more concrete and healing is easier to imagine. Then if I think it’s in character or a fun concept, I polish it up for sharing

What I don’t like? writing technobabble. I want him to come up with clever solutions and show off his tech skills, but that would require me to think of clever solutions and understand science well enough to pretend to talk about it. Especially difficult when it’s not just real science, I gotta try to figure out which ideas I’m taking from canon and whether I have to/even can expand on them in a way that makes any sense. So it’s figuring out how to make real science mesh with canon science, usually ending up with something that is… neither 😑
