Some sketches for the au - calling it the mystic sword au for now, since Leo is like. a mystic sword. I'm worried Yuichi's design is a bit too serious cause he is kinda goofy in this au, but he gets more serious later :) I'm just not sure he looks good next to the turtle design??? Idk

Also Leo's sword form. Wisteria/ocean theme. I just think it's neat :)

Some color palette ideas for Leo :) I think I like the peach better, and then I COULD make Yuichi's palette cool colored. Like- on one hand Leo is the blue guy...but on the other hand he looks PHENOMENAL in this color combo....but I may be biased cause I hate cool colors and I love warm colors LMAO

OKAY SO HERES THIS NEW AU IDEA OKAY:

Maybe Taisho-Showa Era Japan? I'm not sure yet, but probably around that time. Leo is the current sword of the Hatamotos ( same name as Rural Au turtles ) and Splinter and his bros are like...hiding him from the Gods or whatever. I have more ideas for that but I haven't ironed out the details yet. The point is he is being kept inside to keep him safe, not cause he's afab but because he's literally like. The current sword. And even tho its peaceful rn they're scared and stuff.

Every afab person in the Hatamoto line eventually takes on the helm of the Kusanagi/Grasscutter sword and protects Japan from Gods or smthn like that. Also Kusanagi has a certain look to it but I'm making it a Katana for au reasons.

This is also a Usagi-POV au, so Usagi is the main character :) he's the eldest son of a sword-making family, but he doesn't want to make swords, he wants to actually become a swordsmen ( I'm not sure yet about if he wants to be a samurai or what exactly the political situation was in Taisho Japan so more on that after I do research)

I'm going for Ghibli vibes, but again I mean in the ' anti-war, environmentalism, the depravities of war on citizens,' THAT kind of ghibli vibe. It's like Rural Au, but is gonna be something different cause the lore is soooo much different than in the rural au ( and there's like...mystic shenanigans where there aren't in rural au lmao)

Anyway more on this when I'm able to draw :)

Idea for a au of rural au in which they live in the city or smthn and Leo presents himself as female (becuase he is afab) and Yuichi sneaks in the garden at night to steal their apples for some reason LMAO.

Also they're hiding Leo away for some reason so he goes out at night at dances in the garden. He also wants to dress super fancily so he tends to follow the trends of courtesans since "no one is gonna know" since he doesn't go out lmaooo
