DnDBeyond is forcing all character sheets to use 2024 rules
When the new Players Handbook releases this fall, dndbeyond is updating their database so that all character sheets, even ones currently in existence, to use the new rules. All spells and magic items will be changed.

I totally don’t have a favorite D20 cast member. What gives you that idea? I love them all equally.

The Dusk - Homebrew Rogue Subclass by Nines
Why fear the dark? You can hate it, or you can love it, but your shadow has been by your side from you first breath, and it will remain with you until your last. If you can't trust it, what can you trust?
Of Monsters and Myths is going well, and by that I mean it's approximately 65% complete. Some subclasses still need to be written, others need to be reworked. It's not going to be nearly as long as the Subclasseptember Compendium, which at 30+ subclasses remains my biggest single project, but there's definitely a lot more time for polish this way.
... It's almost been a year since then. Huh.
Links in reblog, as usual.

I'm just...so sad about this latest change from wotc/dndbeyond. I'm in the middle of three active campaigns, for some of which I've built dozens of NPCs, and they're all just going to automatically change to new content in September? I have to download them and manually level them going forward or comb through all of the spells and items they have to homebrew duplicates to keep them from changing on the platform? Spells and items I purchased before are just...different now...?
I know you shouldn't trust corporations, that dndbeyond and WOTC have always been a basically morally bankrupt cash grab, and I'll be canceling my dndbeyond subscription going forward, but I just feel a sort of grief that the things I built are being taken away from me, you know? And after we'd all been assured that everything from the 2024 "5.5e" would be backwards compatible and wouldn't affect old 5e content.
It just...sucks.

Another classic act of dark magic to pass on to the next generation! Nothing more petty than becoming an archmage just to waste all of your energy pouring that same pettiness into adventuring gear that causes those pesky adventurers who foiled your evil plot last tuesday to have fatal “Accidents”.
So sorry to hear that your monk friend’s boots seemed to trip him just as he tried to jump across that crevasse dooming him to fall forever. Slowly.

Not sure if you caught it, but if you're a fan of Minecraft and D&D, they released a crossover on D&D Beyond. A Monstrous Compendium for Creepers, Endermen, Ender Dragons and more.

When it comes to dnd I love playing druids. My first and only time playing in a campaign, I played a half-orc Druid circle of stars, named Thokk.
What I like about about the Druid class is the duality in which you can play them as.
My Dm on multiple occasions had to tell me that my Druid was not in fact a Barbarian, because I played him to be aggressive and did a lot of damage when doing so.
But damn do I love it. To use magic as a defense or offense, and I guess this could tie into my love of the relationship magic users have with the source of their power too.
I think about this with barbarians, and it low-key, high-key, disappoints me that there aren’t barbarians of sorrows/grievances as well as a hedonist path (this would be soooo guuci for a chaotic/lawful evil class)

How to Play D&D For Free. Forever.
All you need to play D&D.
One of the things I love about this hobby is that you can participate in it without spending any money whatsoever. Of course, you could spend all your money on the hobby but here I will show you how to play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition for free, forever. Free Ruleset Recent events have led to the DnD 5e ruleset being published under a Creative Commons license. This means that the basic rules…

Hybridized Races - Lineages of Light and Darkness
Tieflings and Aasimars and Harbingers, oh my!
Two(-ish) racial options based on the prompt of "Aasimar/Tiefling hybrid." The Twilight Tiefling mechanically draws from the spell lists possessed by the various Tiefling lineages, while the Harbingers focus on giving the Aasimar's transformations a darker contender.
Thematically, the Twilight Tiefling is probably most akin to the usual idea of a hybrid, combining each side in similar measure - but due to the inherent opposition of divine and profane magics, they lack the resistances of either of their progenitors, and the warring bloodlines cause their magic to shift erratically from one side to the other.
The Harbinger serves more as an unholy counterpart to the Aasimar, if the subraces being based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse wasn't enough of a clue. Of course, at no point are any of these options presented as inherently good or evil, but you might have some uphill work to do for your reputation if you're releasing death and destruction wherever you go. Just like your regular adventuring party, really.
These races were commissioned by @ketothehero!
