“Many are the days I’ve wanted to cease
Lay myself down and find some release
Heavy is the head that gets no sleep
We carry around our lives in our memories
Take away this apathy
And bury it before it buries me.”

Second variant of the Xanthi lineage for Daylight Publications! (@/DaylightPublLLC on Twitter)
It's inspired by a white hole, and as such works as a counterpart to the first design, the black hole Xanthi!

“Come, my dear, and drink while the water’s still cold I am naught but a scar upon your breastbone So kiss me quick, steal every secret I keep You can have anything that you want from me.” — The Crane Wives, “October”
drew Achlys again bc I wanted a new portrait for her character sheet!! (the last portrait was a cropped version of the gravestone art that I did when I was still using the much less forgiving smooth gel pen brush for lineart.) rendering the hair was SO much fun on this one, actually :D

Zephrine's Various Children
So now that the campaign is over (And before the dragon age brainrot overtakes me tomorrow), I can actually show off Zephrine's no-longer-hypothetical children! Zephrine adopts her first right after the campaign and then has her first bio kid about 10 years post-campaign, and goes from there. She doesn't exactly settle down in that she's still very very very politically active as that's her life's passion, but she does enjoy a nice, if unconventional family life while she's continuing to be a girlboss.
The art is a bit old for most of these but you'll get the idea, have a rough summary of each below:
Tumblr media
Arrian Shaxarn- lawful neutral -they/them. fire genasi- blue draconic bloodline sorcerer/assassin rogue. (belongs to @greyfen)
The first of Zephrine's children, a former assassin who was reincarnated by Zephrine after they met their gruesome end at the hands of a vampire. They're in their mid 20s(late teens equivalent for fire genasi) when they meet Zephrine, which initially made her a bit bemused and apprehensive when her newlywed husband Viseryn suggested they adopt them after the defeat of the Midnight Sun. Initially it was proposed as a means to grant them citizenship in Tiamyra faster, but ultimately the two consider Arrian as one of their own and are very supportive and close. As far as Arrian themself; they're very thoughtful, polite and kind, though they do have a slight vain streak befitting someone with dragon blood. They end up being quite politically active and have similar views to Zephrine, which means they get along quite well, and they're very supportive of each other. Overall they're quite grateful to both Zephrine and Viseryn for the opportunity at a literal new life that doesn't involve being a tool of an assassin guild.
Tumblr media
Marciel Celestine DuPrei- she/they/he-  gold dragonborn -chaotic good- swashbuckler rogue/circle of the shepherd druid
Marciel is Zephrine's first biological child and only child with Florian. She was unplanned, which combined with Zephrine's political career meant that socially she may as well be a bastard (Zephrine is married to Florian but unofficially, her official marriage is to Viseryn, though she loves them both. The polycule isn't entirely secret but not publicly broadcast either. It's complicated), and therefore she was mostly raised by other people, predominantly Therila and Florian. She has a bit of a complex about this and thus her relationship with her mother can be a bit contentious and Marciel generally avoids her when she can. As for them, they're rebellious, hedonistic and arrogant but good-hearted and fall into the life of an adventurer quite easily as they very much enjoy fighting monsters, helping the downtrodden, and being the center of attention.
Tumblr media
Circe Shaxarn- she/her- aasimar(abishai)- lawful neutral- Cleric of Tiamat, arcana domain
Circe is the first bio child that Zephrine has with Viseryn, and due to her lineage + being an aasimar, she has a lot of expectations placed upon her shoulders. While her parents are very supportive and understanding, she unfortunately is somewhat of a public figure and some people get pretty weird ideas about her and her future. Some even go so far as to believe she's some sort of Chosen One, which Circe, as someone who wants to succeed on her own merits, hates. She's an intellectual and very passionate about magic and faith, but lacks the charisma of her mother or her siblings and hates being the center of attention. Despite being a bit grumpy as a person, she still shares Zephrine's more idealistic version of Tiamat, and is quite idealistic in general, even if she's bad at showing it. She wants to invoke change, but she wants to avoid harsher methods of doing so where she can. She argues a lot with Kallista and Marciel but gets on well with Arrian.
Tumblr media
Kallista Shaxarn- she/her, red dragonborn, true neutral, green draconic bloodline sorcerer (belongs to @greyfen)
The second bio child between Zephrine and Viseryn and the youngest overall, Kallista is charismatic, mischievous, and ambitious. Feeling somewhat in the shadow of her other siblings, she's definitely the Loudest of them and like Circe wants to stand on her own merits as opposed to her lineage. She's also the most politically minded of Zephrine's children and has a lot of potential on that front, something that makes her parents both very proud and somewhat wary. She’s also probably the most ruthless of the children when it comes to her goals, but she matches that ruthlessness with an equally gregarious personality and a strong loyalty to those who’ve earned her trust. She looks up to Arrian but idolizes Marciel and tends to clash a lot with Circe, who she often accuses of being boring and no fun.

Please reblog if you vote! I want this to reach as many people as possible so we can get more interesting results. I'm going to make a series of polls and when they end I'll design a DnD character from the results!
Sorry the options are so limited, I only get 10 so I picked some that I thought would be fun to draw. If this expiriment goes well, maybe I'll do another with some different options.

DnD 5e Homebrew Lineage: Golem
People made of inanimate material and made intelligent by the arcane, Golems, by design, were not created to have consciousness, rather their sapience is a side effect of their body being imbued with arcane power through runes engraved on various parts of their body by their magical creators. Because of this, Golems, even those created by other Golems, are created with intent, meaning that their bodies are specially crafted to deal with specific problems or tasks.
Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score by 2 and increase a different one by 1, or you increase three different scores by 1.
Creature Type. You are a Construct.
Size. Your size is either Small or Medium.
Speed. Your walk speed is 25-30 feet.
Living From Nonliving. You were created from previously nonliving material, such as earth or stone, granting you the following benefits:
You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
The mending cantrip, when cast on you, restores 1d4 hit points once per short or long rest.
You don't need to sleep and don't suffer the effects of exhaustion due to lack of rest, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Standby. When you take a long rest, you can, instead of sleeping, spend six of the eight hours in an inactive, motionless state. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.
Runic Interior. The various runes that line the inside of your body, the magic that gives you consciousness, gives you innate access to an amount of spellcasting. You may choose 1 cantrip from the wizard spell list that you can cast without the need for material components.
Magical Existence. If you enter a space of null magic, you must make a Constitution saving throw every hour you remain in the space or fall unconscious until you leave the space or the space’s nullifying properties are eliminated, and when you are affected by the dispel magic spell, you must make a Constitution saving throw against the caster’s Spell Save DC. If successful, you take 4d6 necrotic damage, which cannot be reduced in any way; if unsuccessful, you become unconscious for 1d6 hours minus your Constitution modifier (to a minimum of 1). You are incapable of casting the counterspell spell.
Specialist
Specialists’ bodies are designed to handle very specific, often technical tasks. You might be a technician, a healer, or an entertainer, to name a few possibilities. Although the design of specialists is, by design, by no means uniform, specialists are typically Medium or Small so as to fit into smaller spaces.
Specialized Design. You gain one skill proficiency of your choice, one tool proficiency of your choice, and fluency in one language of your choice.
Integrated Tool. Choose one tool you’re proficient with. This tool is integrated into your body, and you double your proficiency bonus for any ability checks you make with it, as well as it being perfectly hidden while stowed. You must have your hands free to use this integrated tool.
Load Carrier
Load Carriers were built to take on intense physical labor, often with large statures and imposing presences. These intense physical capabilities can lend to load carriers being irreplaceable in almost any situation necessitating strength. Unsurprisingly, load carriers are typically Medium or larger.
Iron Fists. When you make an unarmed strike, you can deal 1d4 + your Strength modifier bludgeoning damage instead of the normal damage.
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Envoy
Envoys, being created as emissaries and mail carriers, are built for speed, and speed primarily. Even the quickest organic beings struggle to keep up with your sheer optimized speed. Envoys are typically Medium in order to optimize both speed and distance.
Swift. Your walking speed is increased by 5 feet.
Light Step. Your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain and cannot be slowed by magical means.
