What's my scenario?

Well, I competed, wholeheartedly, in my office's Halloween costume contest this year... and I lost.

This. I was Withered Chica. How did this lose? Against a girl in a black lolita dress with platforms and a white mask with blood tears? Against an OC??

So, any comfort scenarios you can link me to? Or, if you're bolder, could someone write my scenario?

(warning; a bit whiny, which I try not to do, sorry)

I'm known by most as being a sweet, reserved, and devout worker; but also with a reputation for going all-out on dress-up days. Especially for Halloween. 🎃 I have for years.

Like always, I stayed up late and worked for weeks on my costume; compiling clothes & props and painting into the midnight hours. Was hard work, but it's always worth it when I step into my building and everyone flinches. My colleagues said I was a shoo-in to win Scariest Costume. In the office & out in the parade, I walked robotically everywhere. I had a sound box tucked away so I could make her groans & jumpscare noises. And mind you, I live in Florida! ☀️ I did all this, without eating anything after a light breakfast, and barely sipping any water through my under-mask's mouth slots. (Yes I had a 2nd mask on, of Nightmare Chica, for its second row of teeth!) But I didn't complain about it. I relished in it~

It's a personal thrill of mine. Performing in costume, either using my hip-long hair or hiding it in a net, especially to scare. ^^ I scare because I care, lol. (Monsters Inc/University scenarios are great too)

This time, I thought I had it in the bag. For years, the judges wouldn't choose me because my costumes, while very scary to my coworkers, were too obscure for the judges. I thought, surely, Chica would be scary *and* recognizable. And some of them did know what I was from. But alas~ 💔

I went back to my office desk sad, tearing up behind my mask. No one in my office has ever seen me cry, and thanks to my double mask, no one would. Several of them gave me sympathies, which I appreciated, but I kept my thanks short. I'm the nice level-headed trainer, and yes, there have been close moments before, but they couldn't see me like this. It was foolish to cry, I know, but I was hurt, and I never make a fuss or ask for anything. I just wanted.. Thankfully, everyone was excused to leave work early if they wished. So, I took my time peeling off my costume in the restroom as most everyone left. To the few left behind, I tried to excuse my flushed face and shiny eyes on the 1pm high hot sun. I stuck around just a little more, to finish a job. A half hour later, I was the 2nd to last one out. Drove home, listening to my Toon Patrol & The Duke playlists. Once home, I got myself a poké dinner, chugged bottles of water, took a pill for my aching head, and retired for a nap. X3 Imagining comfort scenarios, and passed out in minutes.

So, after all that, if I could be linked to a comfort fic for my situation, 😌 it would be much appreciated. Yes, I'm feeling better, but it'd still be nice, ya know? 👏 And I do enjoy reading new x reader scenarios.

Favorite Halloween costumes past and recent?

From the past….hm. I can’t say one was particularly my favorite

RECENT however, currently the number 1 was the first DIY costume I ever did as an adult; Jeff the Killer.

It was my first time using face paint and liquid latex.

I made a vow to myself that every Halloween, I’d make my own costume. And I’ve been going strong ever since

I was Jeff the killer, my imposter sona from Among Us, Frisk, and this year I’m going to be a security guard from Fnaf in honor of the movie

So I'm DIY-ing a big pirate-style denim jacket for a Halloween costume last-minute rn by Frankensteining 3 pairs of kids' jeans I grew out of and saved, as well as a pair of women's jeans whose button location (not the regular hole, the part where the button is attached) had a huge gaping hole it'd be basically impossible to fix without additional fabric anyway

I didn't know if we'd have enough money to see the FNAF movie in theaters (Unfortunately I won't be seeing it opening weekend but it's okay I can block tags and avoid YouTube thumbnails lol) but AMC's Discount Tuesdays absolutely saved my hide, it was a steal considering their regular prices, AND I get to go on Halloween night IN COSPLAY with good seats for viewing :D so I consider it a big W

But I realized as I was slowly undoing the seams for the back pockets of the second pair I'm working on, I was like "My inner Frankie Stein is showing" and I thought about it, I'm actually a lot like her q2q

The brainrot from both of these franchises has done permanent damage to my psyche methinks

(I also told my friend I've been saying things Stede Bonnet from OFMD would absolutely say in context like "If you're gonna be a real pirate, you've got to sew things yourself" or something LMAO)

Decorations:

check on pinterest for diy halloween ideas, they usually have a lot of kid stuff but if you dig around a bit you can find some cool ideas

cheap acrylic black and orange paint can turn ordinary household items or old toys into diy decorations

farmer's markets and plant shops often sell tiny deco pumpkins for very cheap

you can cut out spooky/witchy/occult images from magazines or old books and hang them up or make a collage poster

you can paint anything to make it look more spooky if you have black paint. old books, statues, jars, paper rolls - its easy to make paper mache with craft glue and toilet paper

if you're completely broke and cant buy ANYTHING, you can still use what you have: forage for leaves, acrons, pine cones out in nature, use white rags, marker and some string to make ghosts, draw or trace spooky designs on paper and color it in, dry flowers, use tea bags or coffee grounds to paint, you can even use halloween themed junk mail to cut out the pictures printed on them

Witchy decorations, you dont have to be wiccan or whatever to make an altar just for fun and a lot of witchy diy projects use what people find in nature as well

Costumes:

mandatory jeff the killer costume :3 (no this isnt propaganda i promiise) white hoodie, black pants, a kitchen knife

use your sick ass cloak!! its great for that witchy feel

paint or draw sigils on your arms (i prefer hands especially) or body

Ocean - Goes as either a politician, judge, or animal every year. Sometimes (when we’re lucky) she forces the whole choir to do a group costume.

Ricky - Either a FNaF character, a cat, or sans. Trust me.

Mischa - Rarely dresses up unless it is a group costume. When he goes to parties, backwards ball cap and sunglasses. Soundcloud rapper. When he was younger, he would dress up as old-school murderers:-)

Noel - Eventually gains the courage to go as Lola Lola, but it takes a while. Always goes as some cheep spirit-halloween costume.

Constance - WINS Halloween EVERY year. Starts planing her costume months in advance, DIYs the whole thing. It’s awesome. She DIYs Pennys costumes too, if she asks!! She always goes as her favorite character from her favorite show that year, wins every costume contest.

Penny - Goes as SUPER niche characters from either a movie or a video game. Favorite costume she every did was a minion. The face paint didn’t come off for a while, though. Constance makes most of her costumes.

Well #springtrapfnaf mask is finished for the most part, I just need to shade out the bottom with a little black spray paint and add some glow in the dark paint to the eyes. The Jacob is so excited! Nothing’s glued on yet this is just a rough mockup of what it’s gonna look like, I took out the teeth for this just because I was having trouble balancing his upper jaw on them. The eyes are a little wonky but it kinda fits him haha. He’s definitely not perfect, but for my very first costume like this I’d say things are going well!!
