Hazbin Hotel Rewrite [WIP- this is copy and pasted from my docs; this is old but i wanted to share it anyway]
Rewrite the Characters:
Original +opinions (ooo~ Spicy) :
Charlie - Princess of Hell, Daughter of Lucifer. Sheltered and Cheery.
I hate that she’s just Disney Princess coded. They could have used the whole sheltered route well but TBF we don't see that either. We see a weird rendition of that where everyone forgives her for her terrible actions but yet other characters like Husk and Angel Dust are somehow held to a higher sense of accountability for their actions?!
I also don’t believe whoever raised Charlie could keep her away from the ever growing and changing landscape of Hell. Like if you're going to be a Princess of anything its really important for the next heir to be well acquainted with their kingdom's landscape and history. At the very least talk to the locals and commonwealth.
Her design is...ok. It didn't change much from the pilot but tbh i liked her Pilot design, I feel like it makes sense for her to wear hints of red and white, but i wish they added more than just red, i feel like black or gold would have been better or even purple for Biblical accuracy of Pride.
Vaggie - Girlfriend to Charlie and protector of the Hotel, ex-Exorcist.
Why did they change the lore? Also why does it feel like the VA hated being there or was just given 0 directions. She sounds dull and plain except for when she’s sounding like she’s angry, which is 99.98% Of Vaggie’s emotions.
That, an amnesia apparently?! How does vaggie not remember the very weapon that cut out her FUCKING EYE that still makes no sense, like how tf her and Lucifer and even Husk have wings, if wings are going to be used for ANY character why make them seem important to Vaggie when Husk literally has wings, and Lucifer the supposed “fallen Angel” STILL HAS HIS?! Like why? How does this make sense?
Angel - FemBoy, Sex worker. Deals in Self destruction, self loathing and deep depression while also being flirty and promiscuous. Was in a Mafia family. 1940s timeline.
Trauma porn character and just a bunch of gay men stereotypes. As a survivor, his story doesn't hit the way its meant to. There's a good and bad way to show SA and Abuse and while they did it “eh” (im saying this loosely) at first, they were completely unrealistic and downright infantilizing at the end.
There's no way someone who just went through a beating, an having to almost get drugged and dragged out of bar, is going to forgive the same person who started the stupor in the first place- ESPECIALLY ON THE SAME NIGHT!!!!!
I FUCKING CANT WITH THESE WRITERS THINKING MENTAL HEALTH CAN BE SOLVED IN A 20 MIN EPSIODE, IS THIS A KIDS SHOW ABOUT FRIENDSHIP OR AN ADULT SHOW ABOUT CARTOON DEMONS IN HELL.
And don’t get me started on that terrible musical number, it’s just soft core rape in a cheery pop tune i fucking hate it!! It doesn't help that Raph, an SA fetishist STORYBOARDED THE DAMN SCENE
WHAT THE FUCK MEDRANO!?
Husk - Angry grump, bar keeper. Contracted to Alastor. Gambler. From the 1970 or 60.
The design is a character designer's worst nightmares come to life on the screen. Every furry from the early 2000s clutching their pearls in cringe. It screams “omg rawr xD uwu” era and i think we as a society are way past that, i figured a 30 something year old woman would be too.
[apparently it was her sisters OC that was put into the show, viv why?!]
Alastor - radio show host from the 30s. Cannibal. Half Creole. “Wendigo design”. Cocky and always smile but is "quite dangerous when provoked." [yea ok pal]
An OC from middle school that should have stayed in middle school. There is a reason so many OCs from artists' early childhood don't make it into their new and growing art style. Most of the time if you keep obsessing over the same OCs you stunt yourself on growing in your art. Tumblr Sexy Man is that exact thing. I like him in concept but, if he was drawn better and actually looked like a man from the 1900s and in his 40s,(or even a half creole man; that's supposedly a Wendigo) I'd have less to complain about. His concept is good and interesting, but its not the first or the last and Alastor def isn't the first. Also give that man a haircut please!
Nifty - Japanese-American. From the 50s Obsessive and a neat freak. Camera shy but psychotic.
I feel like this is just a racist stereotype waiting to be exposed. The “young psychotic Japanese girl” trope is so fucking old and repetitive that i cant vibe with a character like Nifty when i know her only purpose is to be used as comedy bait. It doesn't help that Viv didn't give Nifty almost any merch! Like WOW really showing favoritism over the merch sales and that is disgusting.
Sir Pentious - British inventor. Kinda an idiot but is a brilliant machinist.
We were robbed of a decent villain. I hate that he became part of the cast and became the first redeemed as if Angel wasn't there longer and started showing signs of Redemption sooner, like we got more Redemption scenes of Angel but like NONE of Pentious and we are supposed to believe this weird snake dude is redeemed just cuz he kissed a girl and got himself killed for nothing???? VIVZIE YOUR ASS WRITING IS ASS!!
Also he's a stolen Character...seems to be a trend for Viv..
Lucifer - King of Hell, Father of Charlie, Sin of Pride. Depressed and non-serious, deep self loathing. Complex of some sort. Short King.
He’s fine..i guess, i mean its freaking Jeremy Jordan VA-ing him…he kind fixes whatever is wrong with Lucifer character wise. [this is for very obvious reasons a joke, while re-reading this i realized some people might not know i'm being sarcastic, oopsies] He’s a terrible character for numerous reasons. He is kinda homophobic if you really think about that “i like girls too” line and then proceeds to call her “MAGGIE”; Lucifer feels like he is just there to satisfy Viv’s disney esque “daddy issues” type kink she has for “tragic characters and shitty dads” type characters.
Designs wise he trash. He looks like jeff the killer but blonde and drawn by your aunt who refused to go to art school
Cherri Bomb - Angels Friend. Arsonist. From the 60s(?). Punk rock.
Her design is literally traced and just the Addict design…the fans are just stupid. Also i dont like the fact that Viv EXPECTED viewers of her show, to have done homework on who the fuck Cherri is, cuz if you're a new watcher, and didn't read the fucking Vivziepop Bible, you wont know who tf she if or why you should even care about her.
Why is Angel hanging out with someone like this in the first place, You’d think because Angel is older and from a different time period he wouldn't vibe with Cherri?? But apparently Viv thinks a fem gay man from the 30s would be the best homie to a 20 yr old punk rock Aussie from the 60s, a whole 3 decades of time difference!! Tell us why and how they know each other!! How can these fundamentally very different people even vibe together!! Is it just cus "wow shared trauma of abusive lovers" cuz wow Viv.
(her entire design is also stolen soooooo~)
Mimzy - who?
This one also feels really fucking racist. Idk what it is with Viv but the jewish stereotypes of Mimzie are absolutely atrocious.
Fix:
Charlie - [TBD]
Vaggie - [TBD]
Angel - [TBD]
Husk - [TBD]
Alastor - [TBD]
Nifty - [TBD]
Sir Pentious - [TDB]
Lucifer -
Was an Angel with dreams, and took part in the Creation of All Things.
However Lucifer was too ambitious and went off course with the designs of Earth’s creatures, causing the other Angels to feel uncomfortable by him and his new creations.
While the Angels were tolerating him, he was allowed to visit the First Human, but in doing so felt that their lack of knowledge was unfair and so in hopes of helping the other Angels see things his way, he gave the Apple of Knowledge to Adam and Lilith.
This didn't go as planned though, Where Lilith became kinder and more empathetic, Adam however became more uptight, and acted as if he was better than Lilith.
Lucifer defended Lilith against Adam thus causing the Angels attention to be drawn. Seeing what Lucifer had done; Ultimately bringing evil (free will) into the world, They (strangely) cast Lucifer AND Lilith, as well as the creatures Lucifer had created to the dark void;
The Angels now would call it, Hell. Lucifer, home.
Lucifer would first land in Hell confused and depressed, Along with Lilith they both begin to freak out as they look into the dark, empty landscape in front of them. Feelings of bitterness begin to reside within Lucifer, that settled into a resilient sense of ignorant Pride.
Lucifer’s Creations -
The demons and most of the Hellborns. Lucifer is treated as the Divine Judge of Hell, His punishment is having to witness all the evil that had been created due to him and He in turn must turn what could never be, into another one of his creations. Though he is given it a process. He has given up on making anymore Hellborns due to them fixing that themselves. Demons that are specifically Dead Humans (The Sinners).
Sins -
All of the Sins were once creatures created by Lucifer that began to Form into The 7 Deadly Sins. However the rest of these creatures evolved into lower ranks and a hierarchy was formed. With the Sins and Lucifer being at the top.
The 7 are special creatures that Lucifer held a special fondness to in particular. More so than some of the other Creations. Each of these Sins were given a mission after the fall and were subsequently turned into the Sins by the Angels, who felt they deserved the same punishment, if not worse, as Lucifer. Forcing each of the Sins to work as their prince/princess of their specific ring unless they want their entire existence to cease. They rather that not happen.
The angels cursed all the sins, and Lucifer himself. that if they ever stop their torment they will cease to exist. Angels thought this was humane but didn't realize or rather didn't care that much at the time how barbaric it actually is.
Dubbed the Curse of the Angels or Angels Kiss
(play on Kiss of Death where whomever Death kissed is marked for death,
here the Sins were “kissed” by the Angels and a “kiss” was once used to symbolize a curse or bad omen onto another)
their "death" however is more than they evaporate into nothing
its their very minds and bodies slowly begin to deteriorate painfully to the point of being empty husks. No expression, No emotions, No sense of self. Nothing. Their consciousness and personality essentially gets erased entirely.
Premise IDEAS for Rewrite:
1]
Sinners go through character arc delving into their issues that lead to each one's Redemption
Heaven gets upset over the rise of redemption in Sinner
Earthly Denizens of Heaven/ “winners” attack the Hotel
The Sinners and the Staff defend the Hotel
Heaven’s attackers are turned fallen.
{END}
so i started this almost a year ago, it was right when i really started to dislike Viv and Helluva Flop Boss. If you wanna give a suggestion on what you think could make this better go for it. It's a WIP- so any advice is welcome and appreciated!!
#this is an old draft#hazbin critical#anti hazbin hotel#vivziepop critical#anti vivziepop#im still working on it

Plotting out "Rumplestiltskin" (Disney movie)
After I finished the Reinvention era, I decided I wanted to do more fleshed-out posts of original films I wish Disney had done during their previous eras. To start, I decided to work on the films suggested for the post-renaissance era, which I did a revision post that you can find here. It's best to read that to understand what I'm about to mention.
Background: By this time, Disney has not greenlit a fairy tale since the 90s, and when John Musker and Ron Clements come to them with an idea for "Rumpelstiltskin," they are open to it--albeit somewhat hesitantly; they've achieved unprecedented success with mostly original ideas, and the thought of going "back to basics" does bother them somewhat, with the fear that they'll be attacked for running out of ideas. Nonetheless, they let the film pass, scrapping their "Home on the Range" film. They enlist Alan Menken and Tim Rice for the music, and the team opts for a darker take than most Disney films (later said to have inspired Guillermo del Toro), and they consider briefly to do a non-European setting, but it's quickly scrapped, and a medieval England is considered, with particular inspiration from the Late Middle Ages to the Tudor period. While the specific setting and historical aspects (including pitches for Scandinavian, Slavic, Brazilian, and Iberian settings) are eventually removed for "magical purposes," Tudor-inspired fashion (eh, more 40% accuracy than 100%) is kept. They realize the unlikeability of having a king who marries a woman he threatens to kill three times over, and it's not a desirable trait for marketing, so they take influence from the king in "Cinderella," King Hubert from "Sleeping Beauty," and King Triton from "The Little Mermaid" to make a well-meaning but stressed and temperamental king who offers his much more benevolent son to the protagonist. They also scrap an early draft featuring a love triangle between the protagonist, the prince, and the antagonist, and the thought of doing 3D is considered, but eventually passed on. They planned on making the protagonist "older" (somewhere in her 30s), but Disney worries that this would alienate their younger audience, and move her to mid-20s--a bit older than they'd like, but not too young to be a mother without upsetting the parental audience.
(Note: This film will have been released in 2004, but several visual aids used are from media post-2004 and are serve to give the audience the idea of how the characters would look/act, rather than the influences Disney would use in the early 2000s.)
Plot
In a faraway land, a kingdom is wrought with misfortune. It is heavily in debt after a war has drained their coffers, and the economy has eroded. They're in debt to other countries, and not repaying them risks another way, and raising taxes could lead to civil war. A noble brags that his daughter will bring all the kingdom's problem to an end by turning straw into gold, and when the ill-tempered king hears of this, he gives her an ultimatum: spin several pounds of straw into gold for three days straight and marry his son, or her father will be executed for his insolence and she will be imprisoned for fraud. She undertakes this task successfully and falls in love with the much more amiable prince, and years later, she gives birth to a child. The day the child is to be christened, a guest bursts in, reminding her of a "deal" they made, revealing they spun straw into gold in exchange for gifts from her, the final of which being her child. When the princess begs to be let out of the deal, the creature humors her with a game: find their child, and discover the creature's name. With that, the fiend and her child disappears, and the princess only has 3 days to save them.
Characters
Aurelia--A quiet young noblewoman who lived a naive and sheltered life due to her upbringing, she was taught to be quiet and demure, and her station gave her a fairy tale look on life until she too was struck by poverty. Her father is an advantageous man whose kindness in these circumstances has been pushed down and seen as a sign of weakness. He had tried to suggest a match between Aurelia and Prince Aldous before, but was unsuccessful until he felt pressure by his contemporaries to brag about why his daughter deserved to marry the prince. When her father is threatened with death should she fail, she makes a deal with a mysterious creature that appears each night to spin gold with her, though they only tell her what they want after they do a day's work. In doing so, she gives up two things her deceased mother gave her that she promised never to give up: a necklace and a ring. But true to her word, she does, and she is horrified to realize a potential child is the price to be paid for a third night. When her son Caspian is kidnapped, she races to the far reaches of the country, following clues to the creature's hideout and their true name.
R--Hint, hint. People are always willing to make deals when they're desperate, yet they don't know what the price will be. No matter. R is quite a vicious fellow (or lady? Their form and associated pronouns change to fit the ocassion) who's all too happy to take advantage of the ocassion. Disney took the opportunity to make the shapeshifter's disguises appear as twisted parodies of iconic Disney characters, along with original designs. R is endlessly imposing and clever, managing to finagle Aurelia out of a necklace that tracks whoever she wants and a ring that can summon creatures to assist her--but since she had no idea about the true nature of these items, the only loss she felt from handing them over was of a sentimental nature. But now that they're in R's possession, they're able to not only track Aurelia's progress, but hinder it as well. Should she fail to find and name R in three days time, Caspian will become corrupted in R's domain and be their "son" forevermore. Tick tock, tick, tock...
Aldous--The crown prince of Sceptimar and the oldest of three brothers, he has to deal with his overbearing father's expectations. After the death of his mother, he sought to get away from home and was educated abroad, and both situations contributed to his father's bitter and controlling attitude. He is sympathetic to Aurelia's situation, though is not pleased that his hand is offered as a prize in exchange for her success. Similar to his bride, he starts off as superficially kind, good at keeping up appearances and saying nice things, but when he joins his wife on retrieving their child, his compassion becomes genuine, and his grief helps him develop sympathy and empathy for others. That said, he hasn't completely lost his sense of haughtiness, but most say his demeanor contributes to his charm, in proper doses. His cleverness compliments Aurelia's, and his physical abilities (fighting, horseback riding, etc.) rubs off on her. To put it simply, what was once a "reward marriage" became a relationship where both parties help them become better people. Before Caspian was kidnapped, Aurelia feared Aldous would become controlling similar to his father.
Songs
Sacrifice--The story of how Sceptimar, once a prosperous kingdom, fell into disrepair thanks to continuous war, and was financially bankrupt, and King Osric hoped to marry his sons off to powerful princesses in exchange for a significant dowries.
Golden Opportunity--Lord Ricard is quick to fold to pressure, but when his contemporaries turn their annoyance at the king considering raising taxes on him, he makes a reckless brag that his daughter has been blessed with the ability to spin straw into gold, and they relay this to the king, not believing him.
Don't You?--In despair, Aurelia prepares to be imprisoned for life, but laments the possible death of her father, and a creature hears her praise, appearing and offering to help her three days in a row. Each day they finish a task, they ask her for something, to which she hesitates, and they remind her that they can expose her at any moment, and it will be her fault at this point if her father is executed.
Something For Me--Aurelia must venture to find Caspian before he is corrupted by R, and prince Aldous joins her to help rescue their child. R scoffs at their urge to make deals, as Aurelia already agreed to the original terms of the deals and they had no reason to bargain further with her. But they do have some magical items that Aurelia so graciously gave them, so it's not like they won't win this game anyway.
Life Without--Aurelia and Aldous lament on their childhood and situations that led them to their current predicament, with each of them blaming the other's father for their situation. That said, they've developed a deep love for each other, and they've gained so much from their union, not least of all a child that they adore above all else.
Who Are You (with "Don't You" reprise)--Based on the hints that they've left behind (and an accidental one), Aurelia is able to deduce R's true identity as well Aldous finding Caspian hidden in the domain. R, despite their rage, is bound to the last deal they made, and relinquishes the child to the prince and princess. But they warn the couple that this isn't goodbye; anytime someone is desperate, anytime someone wants something, Rumpelstiltskin will be there to grant their deepest desire.
Hope you enjoyed this! Lemme know if you have any questions. Technically the next original film from my revision of the post-renaissance era is "The Chronicles of Narnia," but it'd pretty much be the same as the live-action film, just animated and a musical, so IDK if I'll post it. So that probably means I'll just move onto "Tam Lin."

Which Disney (animated) character would Kakashi be?
Uhm.
Kakashi is his own unique brand of Disney princess:-
1. Orphan / Tragic backstory ✅
2. Princess hair ✅
3. Constantly swoons due to chakra exhaustion ✅
4. Talks to animals ✅
Crack no Jutsu aside, if I absolutely had to choose an existing, Disney character which he might or might not resemble, I suppose I would have to pick Jiminy Cricket. He was tasked by a higher being to look after a kid and to be his 'conscience' in a world he knew absolutely nothing about. He's quirky, practical, level-headed and knowledgeable. He also receives a gold star in the delivery of all of his quips and wisecracks (in my books). Despite said higher power giving him this job however, he feels severely unqualified and unworthy for the position and doesn't at first know how to deal with his charge's uncooperative nature, becoming easily agitated with the kid not listening to his advice (sound familiar yet?). Character growth happens however, they survive a few perils and eventually Jiminy becomes invested to the point where he genuinely wanted his charge to achieve his goal of becoming 'a real boy', vowing to do whatever he could to help make that happen - much like Kakashi vowed to do with Naruto, since he genuinely believed that Naruto would end up being the one to break the cycle of hatred and usher in a new era of peace once Hokage.
#I thought about Phil from Hercules at first#But then I remember him spying on the Nymphs while they were taking a bath and was like. When it comes right down to it, the root of this constant argument is simple: people want the outlaw of Sherwood Forest to belong to them, to their own ideologies. Following Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, there were arguments that this pseudo-historical Robin would have been a member of the Tea Party (Jared Keller, 2010), or that he was clearly a libertarian (Maura Pennington, 2012). During the era of McCarthyism, Robin Hood was banned from textbooks (Alison Kysia, 2013) in the United States for “promoting communism” with its rob-from-the-rich-give-to-the-poor schtick. If you were to ask me over friendly pints at a bar, I’d tell you without hesitation that Robin Hood and the Merry Men in Sherwood Forest are a gay socialist utopia that the world needs to embrace. But none of these interpretations can encompass the entirety of the legend. It is simply too vast and too long-lived. But this is the story we are most likely to recognize: The good king is away, and his little brother was left to rule in his place. The prince is an idiot and he surrounds himself with monstrous men, and he demands everything of his people. He taxes his citizenry bare and tells them that it is good for them. He sits on their gold like a great dragon and portends to virtue while they starve. He ignores their pleas for help and acts surprised when there is unrest in his country. Never fear! Everything will be all right, because a dispossessed nobleman is here to stop the prince and his lackeys! He even has friends to aid him in this national hour of need; they live secretly in Sherwood Forest and they rob from the rich and give to the poor. The tendency to portray Robin Hood as a nobleman who robs from people just like him—it smudges the image up, like grit on a lens. The very idea has a disingenuous sheen to it, or worse, a heavy aura of wishing thinking: Wouldn’t it be great if there was one super nice wealthy person who would make the rest of the wealthy people hand over their money and take care of the poor and needy around them? Wouldn’t it be even greater if he could alleviate them of said wealth in a comical fashion so that the concept of class warfare and potential revolution didn’t seem nearly so serious? Hollywood is failing us, and so are a multitude of current adaptations. It’s akin to making every female Disney lead a princess; every Robin Hood must come with a title and a patch of land that a mean sheriff or haughty prince can commandeer. It’s lazy storytelling, and worse for the fact that it has nothing to do with origin of the figure.

Home on the Range OC Explorations
I'm doing a rewrite of home on the range and made an oc for it. Her name is Casey Ryland, a farmhand who works at Patch Of Heaven. I chose yellow as her theme color since we don't have a lot of disney princesses with that color (idc what marketing says, Belle's color is GOLD). The basic idea is Casey wears muted tones as a put on while brighter colors symbolize her true adventurous spirit. She also changes hairstyles and makeup so people have a harder time figuring out its her. I want her to look sweet while also clearly able to handle her own in a showdown.
Now for story: Basically it's a mix of both canon and the original draft Sweatin' Bullets. Casey is the quiet timid farmhand whom everyone assumes she has her head in the clouds. She considers the farm animals to be her real companions, has a special fondness for the cow trio. Except for Pearl, nobody else respects her due to her gender, race and overall personality.
But Casey a lot more observant than meets the eye. When she hears about possible foreclosure, she enters a shooting contest - disguised - and with surprising skill she wins the prize money! Unfortunately her opponent was Alameda Slim who is PISSED over being beaten by some upstart with no name. Not that he was going to play fair in the first place, but there's no greater pain for a man than his ego being challenged.
So using a mythical, totally not suspicious book, Slim conjures up the spirits of the meanest, nastiest mercs who ever lived, turning the valley into a ghost town. Now it's up to Casey, her bovine companions and the rest of the farm to try to save their home and the entire nation from Slim.
And just for funsies I'm giving her a love interest, to throw in a cute western romance. Maybe he can be a cowboy from a rival farm, or a ranger going after Slim. Or he could even be THE Lone Ranger since it's public domain and Disney already made a film adaptation (that im not really a fan of). Oooh there's just so many directions to take her!

Ngl it actually would make for a sick ass plot of a book or series if there was a woman behind a successful politian/CEO/whatever that's carefully manipulating him. Like she's sowing seeds of mistrust in his colleagues, starting rumours and shit but then pretending to be in he mindless trophy wife so no one suspects her. Idk it just sounds fun because it is built on this stupid idea many people have of women being gold diggers and "manipulators" but then again she actually is a mastermind. And there could be a foil for her of some woman who's rumoured to be exactly this for her husband and then she's just the sweetest person and is crushed by the media attention.
I feel like this is a thing? I swear I’ve seen this plot somewhere but not in politics just in business? I feel like it’s definitely lampshaded in several shows.
It’s actually somewhat similar to a plot idea I had for a tv show/novel but I never wrote it because it would have been impossible to do it from the viewpoint of the character I wanted to do it from so…
But actually then I had a weird dream that I did write it but as an erotic novel in order to get it made into a tv show so I could cast a particular actor I’m in love with
I am somewhatttt burnt out on Strong Female Characters™️ in fiction though. Like I definitely grew up too much in that Hunger Games/Divergent/disney remakes where they’re all warrior princesses era and I now have such an intense dislike of those kind of characters. Bring me bitches who just want to enjoy life? Can I have one woman who would actually be a massive sellout just to be left tf alone? A woman who isn’t burdened by responsibility for literal strangers? A woman who doesn’t actually want or need to be in charge all the damn time? Idk can we have some representation for those of us who have zero leadership qualities 😂 ok Rant over but fr I don’t feel like most female characters have any more nuance than they traditionally did they’ve just changed their one character trait to something else

𓂀 𝙱𝙻𝚄𝙴 𝙷𝙰𝚁𝙱𝙾𝚁 𝚃𝙰𝚂𝙺 𝟶𝟶𝟸 — 𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝙻𝙾𝙾𝙺𝙱𝙾𝙾𝙺.
Varies on her mood, activities, and the season. Typically bohemian/global-inspired and items from global brands, adventurer, vintage, artsy, casual, comfy athletic, dark and light academic, but can also glam it up for the occasion. (As written here, in Nilay's statistics post.)
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝙰𝙴𝚂𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚃𝙸𝙲𝚂
As mentioned above, Nilay's style could always be described as being bohemian and worldly, adventurer, vintage, artsy, casual, comfy athletic, and academic (light during spring and summer, dark during autumn and winter), and also having the capability to glam up for an occasion, along with stepping outside of her comfort zone. Her style can depend on what she's doing: if she's at work, if she's working out, if she's at home, if she's out and about, if she's exploring; No matter what she's doing, she'll be rather stylish while doing so. Not only that, but Nilay also takes inspiration from her own upbringing and heritage. Essentially, during the summer and how I see her wardrobe, the best way that I can describe her style is "modern-day, real life Princess Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin".
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝚂𝚃𝚈𝙻𝙴 𝙿𝙸𝙴𝙲𝙴𝚂
After growing up in Mardin, Türkiye and spending seventeen years living primarily in Cairo, Egypt, Nilay is a desert girl through and through, and that can be seen through her wardrobe. She knows how to dress for warm weather, typically reaching out for her linen and flowy pieces. When she's at work, she'll typically wear a linen pantsuit that's still sophisticated and keeping her cool. Off-work and out-and-about, Nilay will be reaching for her two-piece sets or a flowy dress. Depending on the day and her mood, her colour scheme is either light colours (sky blue, white, tan, yellow) or bright and bold colours (warm tones and jewel tones). She also especially loves patterns and textiles, and will either incorporate it through a pair of Inkkas shoes or like the bottom two-piece set in the graphic. Either way, Nilay's wardrobe is on the colourful side and she loves having fun with her style. Here are some extra outfits that I can see her wearing during summer; All gifs are from ciceklerveyildizlar (here, here, here, and here), whereas the still pics are from the brands she would shop from (from left to right: Wondery [the Isabel 3.0 Pants in Coral and Borrego Trail Crop Tee in Sand; For when she's hiking, rock climbing, camping, etc.] and Sun Bunny Yoga [Sun Print Sports Bra and Leggings, though she would have everything from this brand to be honest]).
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝚂𝙷𝙾𝙴𝚂
Nilay's shoes of choice during the summer are from Inkkas and Jerusalem Sandals. During work, she'll still wear work-appropriated heels, though she might wear either one of Inkkas booties or slip-ons, depending on the day. Below are her go-tos and favourites.
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝙹𝙴𝚆𝙴𝙻𝚁𝚈
No matter the time of year, Nilay's a gold girlie through and through. She absolutely loves the brands Awe Inspired, Common Era, and Temple of the Sun when it comes to jewelry and wears their items throughout the year. Though, items that she could rarely be seen without, are her Magen David necklace, her locket with a picture of her and Eli with the girls and their cats, her Rhiannon necklace from Awe that Eli gave her and has a matching necklace, at least one of the items from Awe's Egyptian collection or CE's Hathsepsut necklace, multiple rings on her fingers, and either an Evil Eye bracelet or ring.
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝙷𝙰𝙸𝚁
Nilay's dark curls are out in full force throughout the summer. Whether keeping it down completely, in an up-do, or half-up/half-down, summer is her curls time to shine and her straightener is locked away for a few months. To help keep her hair beautiful and protected over the summer, her go-to brands are Joon, Izil Beauty, Fable & Mane, and Saphira Hair. Below are her go-to styles; Gifs are from the same account as the outfit gifs above.
🧿𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙴𝚁 𝙼𝙰𝙺𝙴𝚄𝙿
Aside from work, special occasions, and if she feels like it, Nilay's keeping minimum on makeup during the summer or completely bare face. When she does wear makeup, however, she keeping things light so that she won't risk it melting off throughout the day. She will play up her eyes and lips, liking to add some colour. The first gif up above is a good example for her makeup. She's a lot more bronzy during the summer and is keeping her skin in good condition thanks to Whind Beauty, so she likes to let that be shown off naturally instead of wearing too much makeup. Also, her scent during the summer for the day is Whind's Oud Davana as a base note and then Amber Tangerine as a top note, then for night time she uses Habibi New York's Royal Saffron Oud as a base note and then Whind's Rose Saffron as a top note.

Animation Night 162: Nimona
I'm back~
Hey everyone. Last week Animation Night had its second week off in just over three years. A shameful lapse; the perpetrators have been... dealt with, and you can trust it won't happen again.
So tonight! I figured we'd watch Nimona, since it just came out and all. This is actually sorta related to Annecy ('Annecy related stuff' will be a theme for a good few weeks), insofar as it premiered there. But I didn't see that premiere, so instead I gotta talk about some other stuff...
(please forgive the big ugly stickers, this is the only high-res version of the cover I could find)
So. We're in the era where the people who were big in webcomics back in the 2010s are now making animated films. A few months ago we talked Lackadaisy; now it's Nimona's turn.
If you're old by Tumblr standards, you might well remember that time ten years ago when Nate Stevenson was one of us poor sods drawing pictures on Tumblr as gingerhaze (he just came back in fact!), and Nimona was a popular webcomic. But not one you can find online anymore; Nimona came out on paper, and this in turn launched Stevenson's gradual rise through comics and into animation. Perhaps you are more likely to know of his work from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. More on that shortly...
Nimona follows a shapeshifting girl in a fantasy world and her friendship with one Ballister Blackheart, a 'villain' in the roles of this setting but very much one with a heart of gold, at odds with the 'Institute' and his counterpart/rival/secret boyfriend Ambrosious Goldenloin. In contrast with the uptight Blackheart, Nimona is a kind of prickly traumagirl chaos agent, an archetype that we would meet again in She-Ra's Catra; the story involves many sciencefictional turns but her tumultous relationship with Blackheart is at its heart - along with the question of what sort of person Nimona is when you get down to it, which even she struggles to decide...
It's tricky to know how to characterise Nimona, 10 years on. At the time I was certainly into it; looking back I feel like it's definitely a first longform work sort of thing, where sometimes the plotting feels a bit haphazard - but regardless, it's absolutely a solid read. And for a Tumblr craving that #representation it was exactly what the doctor ordered. The great success of this comic led to more comics, primarily the Lumberjanes series about a group of girl scouts having various wacky supernatural escapades; all this comic work in turn got Stevenson an in at Disney, working on Craig McCracken's series Wander over Yonder as a writer, before finally getting a chance to run his own show...
That show was the 2018 Netflix reboot of the 80s cartoon She-Ra: Princess of Power, animated at Dreamworks. (At about the same time, Stevenson married Molly Ostertag, author of Strong Female Protagonist and writer for The Owl House). This one was very popular with the lesbians on here, odds are pretty good that you've seen it, I actually ended up watching it as it came out with housemates... but let's talk a little about it, why not.
So. Princesses is the original She-Ra by way of Avatar: The Last Airbender, taking a lot of AtlA's general approach to pacing, humour and drama alike - the first season finds it hard to step out of Avatar's shadow, but gradually it figured out a bit more of its own identity.
She-Ra is ostensibly the story of Adora, who has defected from the evil empire and gained the power to transform into magical girl supersoldier 'She-Ra', along with her two friends Glimmer and Bo from the good two shoes kingdom. These protagonists have their conflicts - Adora trying to fill the big shoes of She-Ra, Glimmer's tense relationship with her royal mother - but it is absolutely far more interested in antagonist Catra, who is the Nimona/Zuko figure of this story, as well as Adora's long-term will they or won't they love interest. Catra consistently steals the show, and most of its big drama comes from the question of whether Catra will follow Adora in defecting from the 'Horde' - or rather, why she does not, and continues to make all the worst choices possible. The intermediate season finales with their time travel and fantasy worlds are honestly pretty solid sci-fi melodrama - the final season, which really rushes to tie everything up neatly, sadly drops that ball.
Besides AtlA, it's a show that will wear its anime influences on its sleeve (with some really overt Utena nods). The animation is in an odd place where it is clearly leaning on anime drawing styles but with an American Toonboom-era inflection, where everything is pushed into simple shapes just a little too much; it has its moments (the 'Fright Zone' backgrounds are rather good, and there are some charming moments of character interaction) but struggles with space and perspective in a way that's not great for an action-driven show.
But whatever I might have to say about its flaws, She-Ra was a hit, successful enough for Netflix to fund it for four seasons - making a much larger splash than Powerhouse's concurrent He-Man series which took a much more traditional approach. And I suppose that led them to look at what other ND Stevenson related properties they might be able to sell...
As all this was happening, the Nimona film was brewing. It had a rather troubled production; in 2015 Fox bought the rights, planning to make it at Blue Sky (best known for Ice Age). The project got cancelled when Disney digested Fox, with Disney feeling a little nervy about all the gay/trans shit in this movie. (Not that that stopped them having a float at London Pride yesterday lmao. Cunts.)
But that wasn't the end of the story, and Netflix and Annapurna swooped in, pulling in directors Nick Bruno and Troy Quane who had been at Blue Sky before its demise and worked on the previous version of the film. The animation ended up being finished at the visual effects company DNEG and premiered at Annecy a couple of weeks ago - I could have met Stevenson and got a signed copy of the comic lol. Now at last it's here for streaming.
So after that messy story what sort of film is it? The story takes a similar premise to the comic, and keeps the core character relationships pretty much as they were: Blackheart is a good man unjustly framed as a villain, Nimona is a shapeshifter who pushes him to escalate, Goldenloin as the official pursuing Blackheart, and his boyfriend before the shit went down. But the plot looks like it will end up diverging quite a bit. Visually, it's CG with a 2D celshading inflection - most likely unrelated to Spiderverse given the timeline, but it's definitely belonging within that new flavour of CG film. It's a style that really pushes and exaggerates the expressions, and I can't really say how well it will work - but let's find out! The critics seem pretty excited.
I think I said that Animation Night would start at a reasonable time today. Well, my best laid plans ganged aglee, but there is time I think to check out Nimona - so if you'd like to join me, I'll be live shortly at twitch.tv/canmom and I hope to see you there ^^

✨ ST: What color shirt would they wear in Star Trek?
👑 DP: Which Disney Princess are they most like?
💿 TS: What (Lord Huron) era do they remind you of?
For Nate and Nora, please!
:O That was so fast!!
Nate and Nora!! They don't get enough love (by me). :D
Star Trek:
So, Nate would be a blue shirt... bc Medicine.
Nora would be a... gold shirt pre apocalypse and red shirt post apocalypse. Because now she gets to fight ppl. (*∩▽^*)
Disney Princess:
Nate would be... Snow White??? Rapunzel?? Maybe it's bc they're new that I'm having such a tough time... ๏_๏ IDK all man wants to do is hang out with his wife and find his kid and now he's adopting like everyone and may or may not be turning into a corpse it's been kind of a tough time for him. ¯\_(ꏿ.ꏿ)_/¯
Okay, okay, Nora I want to confidently mostly conf semi-confidently say is Merida. She feels very goal-driven and very violent. Merida vibes. Yeah. Yeah, let's go with that.
Lord Huron Album:
Oh, okay, this one feels easy. I feel like I can do this one.
Okay, so they're definitely Strange Trails vibes. Like, the vibes emanate off 'em. I don't know if I can differentiate it. Let me try.
Okay, okay, I think I did it. Nora is giving Strange Trails. Nate, however, gives off more of the Lonesome Dreams. Both on content of songs and strictly the names alone, those are the albums I would bestow upon them. Nora's definitely back from the dead and Nate's going through it, but he's still a hopeless romantic.
Alright, that took me a whole heck of a lotta time but it was a lot of fun. :D Thanks for the ask, Knight!!
Kindly,

Oooh a bit behind but it’s an hour past my birthday and this week has been hectic BUT YAY Halloween is next week!!!!!
20241021 / Brier Rose
What: Skipping all the fluff here because I’m tired but. The king and queen threw a party to celebrate the birth of the daughter they had been trying for for years. They invited twelve wise women even though there were thirteen in the kingdom. These women only ate off of special gold plates and the king only had twelve. After the festivities and gifts from the other eleven wise women, the one left out visited and gave the curse that the princess would prick herself with a spindle on her fifteenth birthday and fall dead. The twelfth wise woman amended the curse so that instead the girl would only fall into a deep sleep for one hundred years.
The girl turned fifteen and happened upon an old woman and a spindle in a castle room. Her father had gotten rid of all of the spindles in the castle so she hadn’t seen one before and was curious. The curse overtook her and she fell asleep. Consequently, the entire castle including the staff, animals, and the kind and queen themselves fell into slumber too.
Over the years, a brier rose bush grew larger around the castle of sleeping people like a protective barrier. Time went by and the castle became a story and caused rumors. Princes of all over came to try to get behind the hedge because they heard of “Princess Brier Rose” and wanted to see her beauty. Many of them died gruesome deaths inside the hedge. A hundred years had passed, and finally there was one prince who said he was not scared. Because the curse time had finally lifted, he entered the bush and it parted for him. He entered the castle where everyone from a hundred years ago were still asleep about to wake. He saw Brier Rose and was overcome with her beauty and kissed her. As soon as he did, she awoke, as did everyone else. They got married and “lived happily to the end of their days.”
Thoughts: I appreciate feminist retellings for what they are in the modern age for sure, but I do start frowning when people generalize old folklore to have “the prince/boy saved the princess/girl” because even aside from Grimm/Germanic tales, classic stories really do spread female heroes constantly!! For example Disney’s Sleeping Beauty is a depiction of femininity you can take apart with a hammer, it’s by an American company in the 1950s LOL. It’s a version and era of misogyny we’re used to identifying. Context really does matter I suppose. Of course I would also never say any classic literature aligns 1:1 with modern feminism. That’s not how that rly works I think…In this Grimm story, the prince is literally just there with good timing - all the other princes before him including him are not actually credited to save the princess or the castle from anything at all. If anything, the real savior here is the twelfth wise woman. Speaking of Disney, I hold the fact that the Grimms hated mentioning actual fairies/fae in their tales because it was too French in my heart. Haters for real…. But I do like wise women stories a lot anyway so it’s fine!

Plotting out "Crest" (Disney Movie)
Make sure to check out my summary of potential Disney reinvention era films here. (And disclaimer: this post is a quick creation that is not the result of years like an actual film would be, and thus may not match the storytelling/music that properly reflects the culture.)
Background
Disney eventually decides to work on a Native American project, wanting to make one that's on the level of modern successes that they've made thus far. Based on a recommendation from Taika Waihiti (who did "Weaver" for Disney), Disney hires Sterlin Harjo to direct the film and co-write it with Jared Bush (juuuuust to have that Disney magic on it and his good track record) and additional story contributions made by Larissa FastHorse. Bush, coming off of the inspired by "Yaksha" and "The Princess and the Frog," decides that this could be another successful film adapting a (kinda) well-known fairy tale in another culture. As such, he eventually comes across the tale of "Mossycoat," and together with the other writers, they eventually come up with idea of the protagonist wearing a large cloak made of feathers of a Stellar's Jay. The film hits a controversial point in production when Disney suggests the tribe in film takes from various tribes in the continent. The film's team instead decides to make the lead characters from various tribes with regional influences: the protagonist's culture and tribe was originally inspired by Great Plains tribes like the Lakota, but was eventually altered to be inspired by Pacific Northwest tribes, specifically the Cree tribe of Canada (though they are spread throughout more than just western Canada), while her love interest's location--and most of the film's location--takes from Southwestern US tribes (at Harjo's suggestion), with particular emphasis on the Pubeloans people. When discovering that American Southwestern tribes have a high incidence of albinism (and recalling a scrapped albino male character in "Khoeli"), they decide to make the male lead albino. Along with this, the team opts for the pageantry of Powwow-inspired regalia for a colorful visual rather than traditional tans and beiges, with the protagonist's tribe having a triad of blue, black, and white, while her love interest's colors are gold, black, and red. It's a pretty easy for them to come to the consensus of making the film 3D, wanting to reach a wide audience about an underrepresented race.
(Note: I wanted to use Stephen Schwartz as the songwriter for the film, but I can imagine a desire for this to be an NA-dominant project, so perhaps an NA songwriter is brought on instead.)
Plot
When Ayamis' father died, he bequeathed her a magical cloak that could transform her into an animal of her choice. Interestingly, it almost always turns her into a Steller's Jay. That same day, when a shaman prophesizes a Stellar's Jay protecting a white fox from a rattlesnake, Ayamis' mother believes this has something to do with her, and sends her off to a the far-off empire of Oyira, where the chief's son is reputed to have skin and hair white as the clouds. She presents herself to the chief, who believes her and entrusts her safety to him, but she finds that the kingdom is threatened by raiders on their way to invade. On top of this, the chief's son does not seem eager to cooperate with Ayamis. This may be a harder journey than she thought...
Characters
Ayamis--Originally named "Chumani," she is the stoic and aloof guardian to Letaiyo. As her father's death occurred shortly before she came to Oyira and her mother rushed her along on a spiritual journey, she hasn't had time to process his death and is quite irritable. She finds that while she would've enjoyed the foreign kingdom otherwise, but her sense of self has been altered, her world having lost color. Often, she'll wear her cloak and transform into a Stellar's Jay when not guarding Letaiyo, as it's the only way she can feel close to her father. She hadn't expected to be caught in potential war, but strangely, she isn't bothered as much as she should be. It's something to take her frustration out on.
Letaiyo--Oriignally named "Naiche," he is the son of Chief Kaisa (technically Kai-Sa), he's an albino and often sheltered due to his condition making him sensitive to sunlight, though his condition is revered among his people, who see him as a "star child" (his official title is "Son of Heaven") an auspicious sign of good fortune and divine presence on Earth. While Ayamis expects him to be docile and shy, he's quite mischievous and playful, not to mention a fast runner, eager to explore and make Ayamis' job harder as a result. Of course, given his condition, where he goes and what he does during the day eventually becomes a pattern for her, much to his chagrin. But he finds himself developing feelings for her, becoming slightly jealous when she interacts with his siblings. As tough as he might act, he's a little sensitive.
Eknath--A warrior who seeks to make an empire of his own. Despite his seemingly ruthless reputation, it surprises everyone that he is a man of morals and order, disapproving of underhanded tactics such as deception and manipulation. It makes Ayamis frustrated that he isn't as cruel as she thought, since she can't take her anger out on him as well as if he had no honor. However, his team is not completed united in his direct way of fighting, with a small group wanting to capture Letaiyo, either to make Kaisa surrender or as a bargaining chip to spare them if they expose Eknath's hideout.
Songs
Take Flight--Ayamis' father dies from sickness, and she and her mother grieve terribly. But soon after, a sham prophesizes a vision that Ayamis' mother takes to believe is about her daughter, and sends her to venture to find out the meaning until she comes to the Kingdom of Oyira.
Son of Heaven--Ayamis explains the prophecy to Chief Kaisa, who believes it has to do with one of his children. Informing her that raiders plan to attack the kingdom soon, he asks her to not only guard his son, but participate in possible war.
Messenger Dance--Ayamis gets to know the people of Oyira, including Letaiyo's various siblings, who are both protective of him and annoyed by his reckless behavior. In between training for the war, Ayamis must also learn about her sneaky charge.
Meet me at Night--Having spent more time understanding each other, Letaiyo asks Ayamis to meet him outside of town when the night falls, and he can explore more without the concern of burning. In the night, they start to realize their feelings for each other, and Letaiyo admits vulnerability at seeing Ayamis as being powerful and beautiful while he was simply a delicate doll.
Love Lost--Eknath and Ayamis consider what drives him; Eknath believes Oyira is his kingdom to rule and has lost his sons in his years of conquest. Ayamis wonders if she's truly ready for war, and if she was too eager to participate rather than find a way to stop it.
The Conqueror--The war is almost upon Oyira, and with Letaiyo as a prisoner, Ayamis must find a way to sew the seeds of discourse in Eknath's group to divide and conquer them.
Hope you enjoyed this idea! "Verdant" isn't one I've fleshed out as much, so it may take me slightly longer to post it.

I resurrected some old characters from a set of Looney Tunes fanfics I wrote when I was a teenager and expanded the cast. These guys live in a world where cartoons, anime characters, comic book characters and video game characters all live side by side. I don't have a main plot yet, but I've come up with a lot of ideas for character interactions and worldbuilding.
From left to right: Walter, Demented, Sapphire, Patty, Vivian, Wilberforce, Lena, Cass, Aubrey, Daphne.
Vivian is a world-weary chanteuse from the rubberhose era of cartoons. She used to be a sex symbol until the censors clamped down on her raunchy cartoons, forcing her into a desperate last-minute marriage to one of her co-stars in order to placate the censors. The cartoons where she was a bland housewife did poorly and ended quickly, but the marriage unfortunately lasted a lot longer. Her husband was abusive and kept her trapped by playing on her insecurities, until she managed to get free. After that, she resumed her singing career but ended up in a lot of bad relationships that left her feeling like her beauty and her voice was all people wanted her for. She's still looking for a sense of purpose, or at least a way back into the spotlight.
Lena is a retro anime catgirl with endless energy. She loves old cartoons, to the point of living in the Toon district and imitating their style and wacky antics. She thinks she's Vivian's best friend in the whole wide world and makes it her job to cheer her up and get her out of the house, but Vivian just finds her intrusions into her life annoying and stressful. She lives with her siblings, Cass and Justine, but none of them ever remember having parents and Lena can't remember ever being a child. Her first memory is waking up in the gothic castle they used to live in and seeing Cass standing over her. Anything before that is a mystery…
Cass is a cute little chibi demon. Despite her appearance, she's actually the oldest sibling, but she still acts like a small child and needs her siblings to look after her. She is nonverbal, but Lena is able to sense what she's thinking and communicate on her behalf. Her origins are as much a mystery as Lena’s, but she’s definitely a demon, which suggests an interesting and probably sinister past…
Patty is a cynical Pixar-esque toon alarm clock. She was Vivian’s seemingly non-sentient alarm clock for many years, until she got bored and revealed that she’d been alive all along. Now, she’s more like Vivian’s cranky, lazy room-mate, who tends to boss her around and make barbed comments at her expense. Patty’s attitude is a form of passive-aggressive rebellion against the oppression of object toons, who legally have to be owned by a non-object toon and aren’t considered individuals in their own right. Patty would really rather ditch Vivian and strike out on her own, but until then, she’s determined to make her frustration everyone else’s problem.
Demented B. Duck is a wacky Looney Tunes-style toon. They’re more like a force of nature than a person, suddenly popping into existence to cause mind-bending, reality-warping levels of chaos and then disappearing into the ether again. Even other wacky toons consider their antics too much, but mostly because the things they do are more confusing and disturbing than funny. There are rumours about them living in Hammerspace, which toons aren’t supposed to do because it’s beyond the mind’s ability to safely comprehend. To be able to exist in and harness it suggests that Demented might be something more alien and eldritch than an ordinary toon…
Walter is a Studio Ghibli-style wolfman. Walter moved to the Toon district to get a fresh start and he now works at the library, which suits him because of his shyness and because he gets to see Vivian. Despite his gentle and timid nature, he used to be a weapon of war. He was created in a lab as a powerful super soldier who could change into a giant bloodthirsty feral wolf, by a nation locked in eternal civil war. He took many lives and it haunts him to this day. It’s one of the reasons he thinks he doesn’t stand a chance with Vivian. The other reason being that he can’t work up the courage to even talk to her.
Princess Sapphire is a bratty Disney Princess-like toon who is cursed to turn into a bluebird. When she was human, she chafed at the rules and restrictions and responsibilities of being a royal. Her acting out got her sent to Inkwell Academy, which wasn’t as much of a punishment as her parents hoped it would be, because she met her girlfriend there. She was free of the pressure of royal duties, but soon found a new problem: Child-friendly toons aren’t allowed to have sex, which she very desperately wanted to do with her girlfriend. After trying everything to get past the block, she sought a witch, wanting to magically get rid of her desire. The witch technically granted her wish by turning her into a bird, making her unable to act on her desires. She is now trying to find someone who can reverse the spell, so she can finally see her girlfriend again.
Wilberforce the Wonderful Watering Wobot is a Wallace and Gromit-style claymation robot. He was created by an eccentric inventor to water the plants in his greenhouse, until he was stolen by a big corporation to water the plants in their giant greenhouses. Despite missing his father, he managed to become friends with the scientists working there and enjoyed his job. Until the corporation got contracted by the military to create plant-hybrid super soldiers. The first, a wolfman, was kept suspended in a tube while he grew to full size. Wilberforce often visited him for one-sided conversations and even gave him his name: Walter. The military soon came to collect Walter and let him loose on their battlefields. When he came back, it wasn’t a happy reunion. The war had taken its toll on him and seeing more plant hybrids in tubes caused him to snap and become feral, brutally killing everyone in the facility before escaping. Wilberforce was left alone and the facility was abandoned. For years he continued his job with a quiet desperation until he became too rusty to move. He’s still there, trapped in his silent hell, but his old friend Walter is determined to find him and save him…
Aubrey is a Hanna-Barbera style toon hep cat. They’re an old acquaintance of Vivian’s, a fellow partier and swinger, but unlike Vivian, they never gave it up. Despite their style being decades out of date, they and their happening pad are very popular for hosting parties. In fact, the party literally never ends at their house, with a regular rotation of guests coming in and going out. Aubrey doesn’t even have to be there, but they usually are, chatting up the ladies and trading witty banter with their guests. But lately, they’ve barely been at their parties at all. They’ve been preoccupied by a sweet little swan who got dragged to one of their parties by her colleagues. Aubrey isn’t used to feeling this deeply about anyone, but trying to court her is difficult. She doesn’t really respond to their chat up lines and come-ons, so they’re at a loss as to how to romance her.
Daphne is a Lisa Hanawalt-style adult toon swan. She works as a 3D animator for a big game developer. It used to be her dream, but after years of crunch time and sexual harassment from her colleagues, that dream has died. Her only solace in her lonely life is the abuse victims support group, which Vivian also goes to. Vivian seems to have taken a shine to her, acting in a motherly way to the little lost lamb and giving her advice. But Daphne is more deeply troubled than anyone suspects. Something happened when she was a child, but her memory of the incident is fragmented. She doesn’t know what it was, but she’s sure it was something horrible…
