Erranboric Pride Flag
Erranboric or eranboric/eransboric: an umbrella term for those who are not attracted to non-binary people anymore; a label in which one's enboric attraction has partially or fully vanished.
This includes, for example: pluralians with latent or dormant attraction towards enbies; binsexual disexual folk who used to be attracted to nby people but realized they are strictly boric/noenboric after all; erraspec people; binians (BLB), nibians (NBLB/NLB), trixamorics (XLBW), and toramorics (XLBM) who were enboric in the past.

Alternative language for biology of sex without using "hermaphrodite"
So, you're worldbuilding a scifi alien species or a fantasy race that can reproduce as both male and female. Or you're a biologist or science educator. And you want what you're writing/making to be inclusive to intersex people.
The term hermaphrodite in biology refers to species that can reproduce as both male or female. The problem is it's also a slur when used against intersex people (it's also incorrect - we're not hermaphrodites). I recently polled other intersex folks informally and a plurality were fine with the h-word being used with the correct meaning in appropriate contexts. But the qualitative feedback I got was, all things equal, most people who wrote to me said they'd just be happier seeing the term less.
So here is a glossary of words you can use to talk about the biology of sex without invoking the h-word:
Gonochoric species where individuals (typically) reproduce only as either male or female. This means the species produces two types of gametes that have different sizes, and conventionally the larger is female. Gono- for generation/reproduction and -choric for separated/distinct. Note that "non-gonochoric" includes both hermaphroditic species and those that can reproduce asexually (e.g. parthenogenesis).
Gonosyne: species where individuals (typically) can reproduce as both male or female. Gono- for generation/reproduction and syne for together/combined. This is a term I have coined to be an alternative to hermaphrodite.
Types of gonosyny: it's common to categorize different forms of gonosyny based on temporality and how many gonads an individual has.
Grouping by Temporality:
Cosex: species where individuals can reproduce as both male and female simultaneously. Alternative terms: cosexual, simultaneous hermaphrodism. For example: land snails/slugs typically mate by linking up both pairs of genitals.
Dichosex: gonosynic species where individuals reproduce as male and female at different times in their lives. Protandrous species start as male then switch to female; protogynous start female then switch to male. Some species cycle between the two (serial/bidirectional hermaphrodism/disexuality). Alternative terms: dichosexual, dichogamous, sequential hermaphrodism. I coined this one after feedback that "dichogamous" was not intuitive to non-botanists, keeping dicho- (in two parts/paired) for simplicity. Example animal: clownfish (the Finding Nemo fish).
Grouping by Gonads:
Digonic: species that can reproduce as both male and female because they have separate male and female gonads. Digony can be cosex or dichosex. In botany the term monoecious is used for flowering plants. For example: barnacles have their ovaries in the base of their body, and testes in the back of their head.
Syngonic: species that can reproduce as both male and female, because their gonads can produce both male and female gametes. Alternative terms: syncoecious, monoclinous, ambisexual. (Note ambisexual has other meanings.) Syngony can be cosex or dichosex. In dichosexual species the gonad changes which gametes it produces when the individual changes sex. For example: land slugs have a single gonad (ovotestis).
Together this makes four categories. Examples come from: Sex change in plants and animals: a unified perspective.
Syngonic cosexual. Simultaneous gonosyny within the same flower/gonad. Examples: Black-jack daisy, Lady of the Night cactus; mangrove killifish, stubby-root nematode.
Syngonic dichosexual. Non-simultaneous gonosyny within the same flower/gonad. Examples: Bromelia chrysantha, grape ivy; California sheephead fish, common limpet.
Digonic cosexual. Simultaneous gonosyny from different flowers/gonads. Examples: bitter melon, jaraguá grass; barnacles, flatworms.
Digonic dichosexual. Non-simultaneous gonosyny from different flowers/gonads. Examples: papaya, catsfoot; staghorn coral, earthworm.
Hope this is helpful! I have two little notes I want to add on: Note on "non-gonochoric": it's possible this could also include isogamous speries? There's some ambiguity in use. Isogamy refers to sexual reproduction where you don't have two different sized gametes - instead it's two identically sized gametes that are getting combined. This is the standard amongst unicellular eukaryotes and very common in fungi.
Note on ambisexual: this is the term that Ursula K LeGuin used for the dichosexual aliens in the Left Hand of Darkness. The term in biology these days refers to undifferentiated (immature) tissue that has yet to develop into a given sex - e.g. a human embryo has ambisexual gonads until sexual differentiation later on in development. The term ambisexual has a ton of other meanings in other contexts such as a sexual orientation. For this reason I'd personally avoid it.

Hey! you might remember me lol
In my last ask, I mentioned that I'm working on a nonfiction book. It's for the mogai community, and everyone who wishes to understand it.
I wanted to know if you know of any other multi-orientations that most people might have not heard of?
I'm asking you cuz I recently learned about duo because of you.
You can just ignore this if this isn't what your blog is really for, I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask💖
*rubs hands together* this is gonna be a long post
Ambisexual - a subset of bisexual in which the individual is attracted to similar and dissimilar genders to themselves

Amoveosexual - the attraction to both men and women but the individual has such a heavy preference that they're constantly questioning their orientation, said preference is also fluid, it could be similar to homo/heteroflexible
Bicatgendersexual - the attraction to 2 (or more) catgenders, this is not to be confused with zoophilia or bestiality
Binotrix - a term for bi or otherwise mspec individuals who are not attracted to women, could be considered a combination of bi and nowomasexual
Binitor - a term for bi or otherwise mspec individuals who are not attracted to men, could be considered a combination of bi and nomasexual

"Disexual" is once every other sexual, not to be confused with "diesexual," which is attraction to ttrpg characters.
There's a lot of discourse about what the label "bisexual" really means so I'd like to clarify that "bisexual" means that it occurs twice per sexual, NOT once every other sexual.

Alternative Multioriented-Spectrum System (AMSS)
Are YOU tired of panphobia in the bi community and biphobia in the pan community? Are YOU tired of discourse about what each label means? Worry no more my friend, your friendly neighborhood m-spec person is here to help.
Three words to define your m-spec orientation without decades of more-or-less trans-friendly/nonbinary-friendly history behind them
Di- (disexual, diromantic, diplatonic, disensual, etc)
From ancient greek δι, meaning “two” or “double”
Attraction to two genders
Holo- (holosexual, holoromantic, holoplatonic, holosensual, etc)
From ancient greek ὅλος, meaning “whole”
Attraction to all genders
Pluri- (plurisexual, pluriromantic, pluriplatonic, plurisensual, etc)
From latin plures, meaning “numerous” or “multiple”
Attraction to multiple genders, but neither less than three nor all of them
If you don’t want to use these terms for any reason you may want to check the Juvelic System, to encompass both your orientation and your gender identity/a simplification of your gender identity.
If you see a problem with this system, or have any question about it, please feel free to send an ask to my blog or a pm.
If you decide to coin more terms fitting in the AMSS/design a flag or multiple flagsfor these words, please tag me or send me a link, I’d love to see this!
Please note that none of these definitons indicate how I define their equivalents in the traditional m-spec system. I do not think every bioriented person is attracted to exactly two genders (and/or that these genders are men and women).

I just realized...
The prefix di can mean two as well as bi
So when you’re feeling fluffy and cute, you’re bisexual
And when you’re feeling like a badass who can kick ass, you’re disexual

I thought I would share this with people bc it's goddamn hilarious. It's from the AIDS Project Newsletter (1988), the entire thing can be found here:

(Excuse the ugly link, I'm on mobile. Also shoutout to @posi-pan whom I stole the link off of and whose blog y'all should check out.)

A SEXUAL GLOSSARY By Diane White
Sexuality seems to get more and more confusing every day. There's the Boy George look, Michael Jackson as Peter Pan, Annie Lennox as him/herself, actors playing women, actresses playing men, bi's, trannies, androgynes, one-sex-fits-all.
Where will it all end? It probably never will. Meanwhile, here's a short glossary to help those who may be bewildered by the new trends and terms.
Ambisexual: Someone who is sexual on both the right and the left sides.
Antisexual: One who is militantly opposed to sex in any form.
A-sexual: Better than B-sexual or C-sexual. The highest grade.
Autosexual: (a) A person who wants himself all to himself, or (b) someone drawn to cars.
Bisexual: A person who engages in sexual activity once every two years. (See "semisexual" for comparison.)
Cinesexual: One who is addicted to sex in movies.
Circumsexual: (a) A person who is sexual on all sides, or (b) someone who likes to give others the runaround.
Disexual: A passionate admirer of the Princess of Wales.
Exsexual: Someone who engages in sex with a former spouse.
Extrasexual: (a) Somebody extremely sexy, or (b) a person who has a fling with a being from outer space, then sells his or her story to the National Enquirer.
Hypersexual: One who exaggerates his or her experience.
Hypnosexual: Someone who puts his or her partner to sleep. (Compare to "narcosexual")
Insexual: The opposite of outsexual, used to describe anything that's fashionable at the moment, such as androgyny.
Maxisexual: Popular leading man in countless X-rated movies.
Megasexual: Elephants. Whales too. And hippopotamuses.
Minisexual: What turns Mickey on.
Narcosexual: A person who falls asleep during sex.
Nonsexual: Someone who never says "Oui"
Omnisexual: People who are excited by back copies of Omni magazine.
Pansexual: Someone who emulates Michael Jackson.
Parasexual: (a) One who is qualified to advise about sex but not to engage in it, or (b) someone who engages in sex while (1) sky-diving or (2) holding a small umbrella to ward off the sun.
Phonosexual: A person who likes to talk about it on the telephone, preferably long-distance.
Pixisexual: One who is fond of elves. Polysexual: One who is turned on by manmade fibers.
Prosexual: (a) Someone in favor of sex, or (b) a classification (compared, for example, to "semiprosexual).
Protosexual: Pertaining to sexual etiquette.
Pseudosexual: A person who pretends to be interested in sex but isn't.
Quasisexual: (a) Something resembling sex, or (b) a person who's all talk.
Resexual: Somebody who's middle-age crazy.
Retrosexual: Someone who fantasizes about sex during the 50's.
Semisexual: One who engages in sex twice a year.
Stereosexual: A person who insists on wearing his Sony Walkman at all times.
Subsexual: (a) Sex involving small cars, or (b) what Robert Mitchum was in "The Enemy Below".
Synsexual: Something you shouldn't be doing.
Tautosexual: Pertaining to the pointless repetition of sex.
Trisexual: A person with whom sex is a trying experience.
#queer history#lgbtqia+#ace#bi#pan#ply#omni#What's that? people in 1988 made light-hearted jokes about ace pan poly and omni people right alongside bi people?#Well that must really suck for the exclus and panphobes who would have you believe these terms were invented on tumblr
