Not to be dramatic, but the way I’ve been treated the last few weeks purely because I’ve started using different terms to describe my sexuality and gender has been so fucking shocking.

I am treated like an outcast in my OWN community. The community that preaches inclusivity and loving all kinds of queerness has purposefully excluded me, demonized my queerness, and made me feel unwelcome in one of the only places I’ve ever felt accepted. The way some of you treat your fellow queers shocks me.

The way you will so eagerly embrace and defend xenogenders, neopronouns, gender non conformity, and then turn around and demonize lesboys, turigirls, gaybians, trans male lesbians, intersex gays. Anyone who is “too queer” for you is hated and “invalid”. It’s disgusting.

The infighting this community has fostered is horrifying. Realizing that the one space where we are supposed to embrace and uplift each other is becoming a battleground of who can be the most valid has been upsetting and exhausting.

When will this community realize that you do not get to pick and choose who is queer enough for your liking. All queers are welcome in the lgbtq and mogai communities. ALL QUEERS. Unless they are genuinely harming someone, there is no reason for you to be exclusionary towards them.

It’s so wrong not to include a cisgender perisex trans man, but it’s perfectly fine to exclude an intersex transfem lesbian? It’s wrong to exclude trans women, but it’s perfectly fine to exclude lesboys and turigirls who may be trans or intersex.

You cannot pick and choose who you want in your community. You can hate certain people all you want. You can disagree with how they identify all you want. But you do not get to erase us and silence us.

it drives me bonkers the way people don't know how to read classic books in context anymore. i just read a review of the picture of dorian gray that said "it pains me that the homosexual subtext is just that, a subtext, rather than a fully explored part of the narrative." and now i fully want to put my head through a table. first of all, we are so lucky in the 21st century to have an entire category of books that are able to loudly and lovingly declare their queerness that we've become blind to the idea that queerness can exist in a different language than our contemporary mode of communication. second it IS a fully explored part of the narrative! dorian gray IS a textually queer story, even removed from the context of its writing. it's the story of toxic queer relationships and attraction and dangerous scandals and the intertwining of late 19th century "uranianism" and misogyny. second of all, i'm sorry that oscar wilde didn't include 15k words of graphic gay sex with ao3-style tags in his 1890 novel that was literally used to convict him of indecent behaviour. get well soon, i guess...

Anyway. Bi and Mspec Lesbians aren't a hotly "debated" topic or even new to queer culture, it's just the newest thing that bullies who REALLY want to be homophobic and even racist use to justify harassing gay people they don't like.

It's the thinnest possible veneer of progressive language wrapped around TERF and reactionary rhetoric so that they can feel righteous for forming an angry mob against vulnerable targets. If you're gullible enough to fall for the newest wave of bigotry within the queer community, and turn on your allies because they're "confusing" or "invading your spaces," the SAME way they turned on bi/pan labels, trans people, xenogenders, neopronouns, and aroace people before this, then get lost.

Remember like that stupid bisexual vs pansexual discourse or whatever? I’m pretty sure its over at this point but it was like dumb. I’ve seen so many people claim the distinctions between the two words are this and that and so few people see them the exact same way. If you add up all the versions where people try and set a distinction, they are so interchangeable and everyone has a different opinion. Who cares? It’s basically the same thing and if someone prefers one word or the other, then they can use one or the other. Its just vibe based anyway.

Sometimes I get messages about certain dialogue in my comics about how a character is being passive aggressive when I'm just writing them as straight forward and blunt.

idk, as an autistic person who's dealt with genuine harassment several times (including a few months ago) because his straight forward and blunt demeanor was misinterpreted as being "rude", "ungrateful" and "bitchy", its just kind of interesting seeing people interpret dialogue in a more hostile way.

it's not a complaint, i prefer those fictional interpretations over terminally online twitter users who need to be coddled over everything but it is kind of fascinating seeing how people interpret certain dialogue.
