...i might be more traumatized than i thought.

i was running on a narrow bridge with a lot of foot traffic. scooched to the side to let a group of runners behind me pass. they're all teenage boys. the first one thanks me, we all keep running. the next 2 times we see each other we hype each other up. that's not super uncommon–a lot of runners are really nice people.

but the fact that a group of men i don't know were nice to me? yeah...that's been frying my brain for the past hour to hour and a half. i think i've been in the freeze response since i got home. i feel happy and grateful to those strangers, but i also feel like i want to cry.

oh well. just gotta let myself feel. thank god i know how to do that now

I love all the different ways people play BG3. Having 30 different Tavs. Having one Tav they pour all their love into. Creating lore and backstories for them. Just clicking some buttons and going for it. Downloading all the appearance mods. Downloading all the gameplay mods. Downloading all of both mods. Spending hours taking the perfect screenshots. Spending hours choosing the perfect outfits. Reading all the books to piece together hidden lore. Challenging themselves with harder and harder combat or limitations. Coming up with silly challenges or ideas for playthroughs. Doing solo runs. Removing party limits and bringing all the companions. Adding NPCs to the party. Romancing everyone. Romancing the same character over and over. Doing speed runs. Spending 150 hours in Act 1 alone. It's just neat. I'm glad we're all having fun.

I think the core of what makes Gale such a great character to me is that he’s proof that a character can be deeply flawed without being an asshole. He’s cocky and pretentious, but that’s largely a front he puts up to mask his insecurities, and he’s never mean-spirited; his good heart always shines through. The world needs more characters like him (and by “the world” I mean me)
