Do idk how it is elsewhere but a lot of grocery stores near me put up metal barriers around the front of the store so that people cannot removes shopping carts from the property

Now you may be thinking "Well, I see this is the accessible parking and entrance though so clearly they have to have a gap for wheelchairs and such. Right?"

I mean technically yes. I suppose. But it is FUCKING PADLOCKED.

Now. Now. This particular store DOES have an attendant outside with the key who seems to be here just for this so that's not as bad. But what if he needs to pee? What if he's busy helping another customer? What if we didn't make people have to get an employees attention for assistance JUST TO ENTER THE PROPERTY.

the interesting thing about we are is that i believe it's the first bl i've ever seen that truly has one main character. there is a reason why phuwin is the most overworked of them all and why he jokingly complained about the fact that pond wasn't suffering nearly as much as he was, even though he is his on-screen partner. and there is a reason why phuwin said that peem is also the audience in a way because he kind of gets to witness and react to almost everything that happens in the series.

the world of we are is built around peem: it's him and his boyfriend and his best friend and his best friend's boyfriend and the rest of his friends and also his boyfriend's friends. even the things that are seemingly not connected to peem in a particularly direct way are still somehow influenced by him or perceived by him, e.g. tanfang happens because phum agrees to help tan hit on fang in return for meeting up with peem, and then when tan spills the beans about them dating, peem's reaction is centered slightly more than anyone else's, even though there are people who are closer to fang and similarly close to tan in that scene. and though we get insight into phum's life too, for instance, that still somehow circles back to peem, e.g. most phumfang scenes are them literally discussing peem or talking about their parents, which still comes back to phumpeem, as phum's family problems have a huge effect on the boys' relationship.

peem is the sun of the show, and the rest are planets revolving around him or moons of the planets revolving around him in one way or another.

i love how sometimes, despite all the medical advancements of the 21st century, the only thing that relieves pain is sitting/laying/standing in a weird position because it places/doesn't place pressure on certain spots

When people think of amnesia, they think of an accident that happened that caused it. Like a car accident, a fall, a head injury, etc etc. Which is completely valid and a very common thing!

However, there are people like me who do have amnesia and there’s nothing that physically caused it. It just is. Through trauma, through a dissociative disorder, through a cognitive disorder, the list is endless with the causes.

I have Amnesia. I cannot remember my past, and my present. I can’t remember important events, birthdays, weddings, my own memories with my partner. It’s disheartening and hurts so much to not remember key things that build a relationship. To not remember things that help you.

I do have some memories, but they’re broken up, and almost most of them aren’t what feels mine. They’re fragments, fragments of things I can remember and things that people tell me about that event.

Some memories are weird. I can’t physically see them, I can’t remember them, but it’s in my head like it’s muscle memory. Like it’s implanted in my brain and i somehow know it.

Amnesia is scary. It’s disheartening. It’s hard to deal with and it’s not fun. Please be kind to those with amnesia from any type of cause.

Can I just say this part of the casting call for the new golden trio of the Harry Potter reboot is fucking hilarious as shit for so many reasons???? For starting orders, JKR with diverse characters??? The jokes write themselves, really, because the same woman who had characters defend elf's being slaves to someone trying to free them and the same woman who can't even google Asian names and named a black character Kingsley Shacklebolt, being diverse in a reboot??? Let alone the same woman who wrote werewolf's as being a representation for AIDs and claimed a character who had been dead for a while by that point was gay the whole time but had chosen to stop being gay or at least never love someone else because his one love had been a villain being fine with new actors having sexualities that aren't straight??? And the same woman who throws up at the mere sight of a cis woman who isn't up to her standards of a woman and throws tantrums about trans people on a daily basis??? Potentially around kid actors who don't identify as cis??? And I cannot even recall if we had ANY character in the books who was disabled, so like, uh, I'm scared how JKR will tackle this one, and its not mentioned but religion is among those protected by law with casting and just, given JKR had every single character celebrate Christmas and confirmed only ONE Jewish student attended Hogwarts...yeah no.

In all honesty-

-as much as im glad that this twitter user (not calling it X.) felt validated by this scene in particular. But as who is also disabled since I am someone with a mental disability and a mental illness: I find the scene itself to he written in a disingenuous way since it was written by the same creators that:

1. Calls people with mental disorders unnecessary things or outright used the r word in their script to describe a character who’s genuinely autistic coded.

2. Called a literal illiterate person, someone with a disability, “a reeee (cuts off before the r word is said)” and placed them in sloth to call them “lazy” for not being able to read.

3. The creator called people with depression “not genuine” for feeling any happiness or passion in the same sentence where she insulted that person for being agender by calling them a “trender.”

People with mental disabilities are not less deserving of validity or a “joke” for it being mental. We’re human too, we deserve good representation as well. Period. -and if Vivienne can’t accept that im afriad that she’s not being honest with what she was writing here in the slightest. Just another “Loona in the first season compared to the second season” level of inconsistency in script morality that honestly puts a bad taste in my mouth the more that I think about it. Yikes.

finished horse by geraldine brooks and i mostly enjoyed it but i found the ending extremely shocking and upsetting. white woman author who is clearly very conscious about her role as a white author writing Black main characters right up until the moment when she kills off her Black main character in the worst way mining real trauma for shock value. and maybe as a white woman myself i should just sit with this discomfort but it felt very voyeuristic to me and this article put words to some of my feelings throughout.

i really enjoyed the 19th century part because Black horsemen were so important to horse racing and have been so long overlooked, and i obviously enjoyed the horse-centric parts and how she dove into the brutality of the industry, but the modern storyline fell flat, especially with how she chose to end it.
