tina reminds me of my mom in the way that… she got stuck in a point of her life and this thing she actually loves and enjoys came around and breathed life back into her. i enjoy that so much, especially for WOC. that’s so not something that’s guaranteed, and to see it for Tina made me unbelievably happy. Liza Colón Zayas, you will always be loved by me.

NAPKINS

When Mikey cared about the napkins and they were fully stocked, it showed that he cared.

When he stopped caring about napkins, he was closing himself off, withdrawing from everyone and being self destructive

When Mikey was caring about the napkins, he was capable of caring about Tina and her feelings

(Proud of this)

Mikey was making sure one of his team would be alright

But we see when Carmy was asked to care about the napkins

He didn't, he was withdrawing from Sydney

Note that Sydney seemed to be very open and receptive to him

This is when he called Claire to drive him to Winnetka.

He went to that college party

Took Claire to the restaurant

Argued with Syd and sent everyone home.

The napkins are very important. It kinda symbolizes being present and a real part of progress

Tina feeling lost after losing her job of 15 years, only to by complete chance stumble into the angel on earth that was Mikey Berzatto and having someone give her a chance for HER and who SHE IS and not her resume or lack of formal education was just.

and to think the a few years later, she’s going to culinary school with nothing but excitement and gratitude and a willingness to learn. she’s becoming a sous chef at the age of, what, 50? imagine telling 2018 Tina Marrero that she would be a chef at one of the hottest new restaurants in Chicago. i’m in fucking tears

I’m all for Ayo directing but before The Bear ends I wish I could see Jeremy doing it too. I think he’d be great at it!

Hi I’m the sydcarmy anon — first, I’m really sorry for coming into your inbox when I was in a foul mood over that article. You yourself wasn’t gloating or anything, I think I just viewed your agreement with the OPs tags as just another dig at those who like this ship. Not an excuse though, and I am sorry for upsetting you! I shouldn’t jump to bad faith conclusions when I’m feeling disillusioned over, as you said, a silly article. The little community I’ve found on here (bc sydcarmy might be popular here, but Reddit definitely hates it) to talk about this pairing has been fun but it’s so discouraging when every couple months a journalist has to ask Ayo or Jeremy about what the internet thinks rather than about how they feel about their characters story or the shows themes. Again, super sorry for being shitty!

And I can understand it from both sides. Jeremy and Ayo have made it very clear that sydcarmy was never intended. And I can see how that's discouraging to some people. But also. Enjoy what you wanna enjoy, canon or not. We still have an awesome show, regardless of what ship ends up being in the show.
