Hi I’m the sydcarmy anon — first, I’m really sorry for coming into your inbox when I was in a foul mood over that article. You yourself wasn’t gloating or anything, I think I just viewed your agreement with the OPs tags as just another dig at those who like this ship. Not an excuse though, and I am sorry for upsetting you! I shouldn’t jump to bad faith conclusions when I’m feeling disillusioned over, as you said, a silly article. The little community I’ve found on here (bc sydcarmy might be popular here, but Reddit definitely hates it) to talk about this pairing has been fun but it’s so discouraging when every couple months a journalist has to ask Ayo or Jeremy about what the internet thinks rather than about how they feel about their characters story or the shows themes. Again, super sorry for being shitty!

And I can understand it from both sides. Jeremy and Ayo have made it very clear that sydcarmy was never intended. And I can see how that's discouraging to some people. But also. Enjoy what you wanna enjoy, canon or not. We still have an awesome show, regardless of what ship ends up being in the show.
