Hello, I'm in a difficult situation and am potentially facing eviction. The apartment complex that I had applied to denied my application, putting me hundreds of dollars in the hole, and I am currently behind on my rent. I'm quickly realizing that finding a new place to stay will be significantly more difficult than I realized and that this process is going to be long. I am hoping to be able to make a big enough payment towards my back rent that I can stop them from filing eviction tomorrow (8/26) and give me some more breathing room to pay off the rest of the debt when I get paid.

I recognize that this is a problem of my own making and I'm preparing myself to deal with the consequences of it as best I can. I can only be thankful and appreciative for the enormous amount of support I've received over the years but especially since my mom passed away in December. Anything helps as my budget is currently operating on very slim margins.

watching people discover the fucked up science guy part of viktor's lore and then being like "we need to acknowledge that he's a fucked up science guy 😔" is so funny. like yeah, he is a fucked up science guy who thinks ethics committees are bullshit because in his mind having rights temporarily violated is perfectly fine if it means saving lives—especially when the ones condemning his beliefs don't offer what they consider to be an ethical alternative to fix the problem and simply let it continue to exist.

and yeah, he's a fucked up science guy who experimented on himself following a, quote: traumatic period of introspection. he had a mental breakdown, fell into a major depressive episode, and spending this horrible time of his life "alone in the depths" reinforced and radicalized his previous beliefs, and to showcase his beliefs (and to try and get rid of his emotions because of how overwhelming they were) he turned himself into a cyborg (and did in fact make himself worse in certain ways but ehh who cares /j).

and yeah, he's a fucked up science guy who gave a kid back alley anti anxiety meds so he could face down his bullies, but he did so after making him a cozy beverage, teaching him about the dangers of propaganda and baseless rumors, and having him scream into a megaphone to freak out said bullies because it was funny (not that he'd admit to finding it funny because then he'd have to admit to having emotions, and well he can't do that, no sir).

so yes, viktor is a fucked up science guy, but that's half his charm! he cares so much about helping people, but he's a weirdo and freak about it! though to be fair, in the city that also has a chemically enhanced werewolf (warwick), a sentient blob of goo (zac), a wind and water goddess (janna), and a literal war criminal who invented chemical warfare (singed), among many other wacky individuals, he's pretty normal all things considered! fucked up science is just a part of life in zaun, my dudes!

thinking about the adam's red sclera you were talking about. if his aura is constantly trying to prevent it from getting worse, would someone with aura amp semblance like jaune be able to cure it? it wouldn't give him back his vision, but stop the chronic pain maybe?

it also gets me thinking about the fact that blake has chronic pain on her scar where he stabbed her (i cant recall where the chronic pain fact was mentioned nor implied, so i cant really tell if it's canon or fanon), which got talked about a lot back when the volume was out

In theory, I don't see why an Aura boost couldn't help cure an infection. It completely closed Weiss's injury and that was complete impalement open to the air! A true feast for bacteria. I imagine even modern doctors would struggle with a wound like that

Once again, though, we bump against the reality that a) Adam shouldn't have this infection after literal years. (6 years minimum if my math from the comics is right.) It should've either been healed or taken out to prevent more damage, and b) Auras aren't consistent throughout RWBY because the writers care more about Events than Story. In some cases, Aura will stand up to incredible amounts of force and others be shattered in a single hit, even with the same character! (Ex. Ghira in the v5 fight vs the ambush in the Adam short/Yang in pretty much any fight yet going down in a single hit from Neo in v8.) Scars are just another Event for the writers, story and logic be damned. (Seriously, how the fuck did Cinder lose both her arm and eye? I don't think the writers know. Or care.)

As for Blake's wound, that is 110% fanon. I have no idea how a stab just above the hip would lead to chronic pain. Perhaps in flashbacks or nightmares she would relive the pain, but unless there were complications with the healing (considering she was leaping on rooftops shortly after, this is not the case), that should be the only pain she gets. I can only hope someone made an ignorant mistake rather than deliberately foisting more suffering onto Blake just so Adam would look worse

i identify as a lesbian and that's not wrong because I like woman in a profoundly gay way and I recognize that I'm going to be gendered female because of my appearance and I'm apathetic enough about it to allow it except in my presence and sometimes even then but the way I feel about gender In General extends completely to all other aspects of my life like sure woman are hot in a way that I don't typically feel about men but also I do find butch masculinity wildly attractive when it's done on purpose and I think it's just that I like when people color outside the lines if I'm gonna be a weird queer freak then I'm gonna be a Weird Queer Freak and I've become So About It that I'm like... offended?? when people assume I'm doing something regular and normal?? like it's very very important to me that everyone knows I am doing All This aggressively On Purpose I Know that many things would make me more paletable to Most People but I'm not interested in being more palteable I am interested in finding other weird queer freaks!!!!

anyway all that to say that I sometimes get Quite In My Head about the fact that I am doing this Situationship with a straight man who is simultaneously 1. very comfortable with his gender and sexuality as a straight man 2. wildly attracted to me and 3. not thinking of me as a woman because both of the people IN the situationship are very aware this is all very queer I am aware that it Appears oftentimes to be just yknow regular heterosexuality

pertaining to the idea of tenax’s band of strays i do think it’s touching that the kids are the ones who saved him and waited outside the door to make sure he’s okay. for all tenax claims to be harsh and cruel it’s a fine indicator of his character that the kids won’t rest without him and are there every time he’s in danger.

in episode 6 of season 1 kono's former surfing mentor gets shot and the team tries to get her to take the day off, but steve starts that campaign (and has final say, obviously - later danny says to kono "what are you doing here? boss told you to take the day off" and i had to rewind to make sure that danny DID actually call steve the boss), and it's like, uh, hum, buddy? steve, my friend? did you forget that literally the only reason you're standing there in hawaii with this special team telling kono to skip a case that's personal is that FIVE EPISODES PREVIOUSLY (that's like, a quarter of a season at best) you did the most extreme ever version of NOT skipping a personal case?? this guy (steve) really just tries to tell kono that she shouldn't be investigating the murder of the man who was "like a second father" to her, when he's recently made a major life change just so he could investigate the murder of hIS OWN FATHER. sir, you're leading a team with special permission from the governor to Make Everything Personal And Never Step Back. you've cultivated a culture in which people would investigate their OWN murder if they could and still not see any emotional or ethical problems with running after suspects while holding an object that can shoot people dead and a badge that says they can do that if they want. and now you're trying to tell kono she can't be doing that? talk about mixed messages, man.
