Hello! Your Poang Pals Secret Santa here :D Just wondering, have you done the questionnaire? You seem to have mentioned it in a message in the channel but I can't find a link or anything to your answers! Otherwise, do you have any favourite headcanons about Mulder or Scully I could potentially include? Hope you're having a good week 🥰

OMG I SO SORRY. Tumblr didn't let me know that I had a message until I actually went into tumblr itself T.T

Also, not I only actually did the questionaire, but I try to be somewhat detailed in my initial submission, and when I didn't see a message I assumed you didn't want it T.T

Anyway because I wanna overshare anyway here is the questionaire!:

Starting broad, tell your Santa about your relationship to The X-Files. This could be how you got into The X-Files in the first place, what the show means to you, or just general information you think might be relevant for your Santa to know: I did see txf a few times growing up, but as it wasn't really the typical genre for me, I didn't reeeeally get into it until about a year and a half-ish ago. My mom got into a binge of it, and I would see random episodes when I so happened to be around. Even though I only saw extremely random episodes, I got really into it. As I can't seem to just say I'm into something like a normal person, the idea of "wouldn't it be funny if we cosplayed as mulder and scully at conventions and pretend we are investigating?" was pitched to my sister (as we are both vendors at conventions) was born, and I watched the episodes for "research". Meanwhile, I felt postiviely spoiled as there was so. much. fanworks. and active fans. The last few fandoms I partook in were really small. I got THE" one bed fic" say, while in txf there is like 2000 of them. It felt like christmas every day here. Also people act like the show is still active. There is a spark of excitement I haven't felt in fandom in a long time

Tell your Santa about your favorites! Favorite characters, favorite moments, favorite episodes, favorite seasons, favorite ships, etc. Hmmm, I DO love me more of the comedic episodes. Like bad blood, small potatoes etc. I feel like I don't really have a favourite season really. They all have their good episodes and something to love from the ones I saw. Obviously my fav ship is msr, but I do sometimes like to see one of them momentarily jealous. Just…. nothing to get in the way of holy, holy msr

Tell your Santa about your LEAST favorites! We all love our show, but it also sucks sometimes. Which parts suck the most for you? Mind you, I haven't actually SEEN seasons 8 onwards, so I would avoid those for me. I am not a fan of the emily arc, or anything else that focuses too much on scully's infertility. The fact it happened is fine enough, but when it starts to be and entire thing is ehhhh…. Also the later myth ark episodes sometimes doesn't do it for me. One that really sticks out to me is "closure" and how they dealt with Samantha's abduction. I mean, c'mon CC

Tell your Santa your favorite tropes and genres! Only one bed? Friends to lovers? 5+1? Fluff, angst, hurt/comfort? You get the idea. I LOVE sick fics, under cover stuff (dating, married couple etc.), awkward situations (like getting locked in a closet etc.), one bed, one or both of them getting drunk/high etc. I do enjoy my angst but I something have to be in the right mood for some muldertorture.

Tell your Santa about tropes you tend to avoid. I really don't tend to do AU's. The AU's of "what if x did y" AU's are ok, but I'm not a fan of high school AU's etc. I also tend to avoid crossovers (though ironically I enjoyed playing kingdom hearts lmao)

For your Santa, but also just for fun, describe your ideal X-Files episode. Is it mythology? MotW? A literal porno? Speaking of pornography, tell your Santa what your spice preference: I think MotW or literal porno. My spice rating would probably be Habanero. In theory, Ghost Pepper, but there is some kinks that I reeeeeaaallly don't like I do tend to like a good MotW (even though CC manages to screw them up sometimes). The mythark tend to be so plot packed that they don't allow Mulder and Scully to breathe. I don't need to find out about the mass government conspiricy and 10/10 action sometimes. Rather, sometimes I'd rather them attempt to go to some stupid conference, but Scully gets exasperated about him getting distracted by a thrift store and thinks a butter tray is related to an x file from 20 years ago, y'know?

Those are the most important things, but I want there to be ten questions because it’ll look better, so tell your Santa what ONE song you would pick to describe MSR. (Or if you’re not into MSR, pick a song for your favorite ship, or for TXF as a whole.) Simply simple- Mother mother- for some angst.

To directly answer your question of: Otherwise, do you have any favourite headcanons about Mulder or Scully I could potentially include?: Scully loving to steal his clothing, Mulder being a cat person, but also felt silly that he was kinda jealous of Queequeg, Mulder being bad at cooking, mulder being a good dancer because of his upbringing, Mulder also being very good at eating out (this might as well be facts). Scully having a crush on Mulder pretty much right away. That they sometimes, especially after the first couple of seasons, there is some off screen cuddling after some serious cases and that is the way they deal with their trauma. They never talk about it, or the trauma, becuase you know, its them

Hello. Nobody follows me either so I am answering.

I just wanted to say that this comic has helped me through so much. I am so INCREDIBLE excited for this new season and I am a menace to my friends since I won't stop talking about it. Claude is my favourite character (judge me if you want, you basically made him FOR me to like him, he is the perfect comfort character to me lmao) and I have been talking about all the things you have said about how we are gonna get more of his backstory for example. Not so very long after I started reading CoB (a year ago) I forced one of my friends to read it (I tried to force others, but they never read comics so they were not interested. I am however making more people read it now) and now we are both talking about this comic's next season. We are making headcanons, drawings, I make masks and cosplay, edits and we read it over and over! It is sooooo good! I have never read ANYTHING better than this! Like HOLY CRAP, HOW TF DID YOU MAKE THIS?! IT IS ART. no wait- IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN ART- I CAN'T DESCRIBE IT OMG.

Personally, I am used to wait for things for waaay longer than this and I was almost suprised that it only took 4 months! I feel sorry for you that you have to feel like you do.

Also, you were talking about how it doesn't get talked abt on social media. I post A LOT of edits on tiktok. They might not be veeeery enjoyed, but people are likeing them! I also have a feeling that I might be the only CoB editor on tiktok- but I just wanted to say that: I want this comic to do well aswell! I think you actually already have seen my account (editsbyasheep), you have liked a few of my videos and even commented. I also made a Rex mask once and then sended a picture of it to you on instagram (I am however more proud to wear my claude mask, it took a bit more time to make lol). I have also made a song once since I like to play the guitarr and sing. The song was inspired by claude, but I never mentioned anything from the comic, it was more like his thoughts. Anywho, I played this song at THREE festivals. I won 2/2 competitions to then come to the third festival with people from the entire country WITH THE SONG ABOUT YOUR COMIC.

I just really wanted you to know how much you have done for me without even knowing it and that you will never loose me as a reader. If you make another comic, I will be there then aswell. And I will keep on and try and make peoole read CoB by making my edits on tiktok. Thank you for making this. I could cry from happines (I have before).

Lucifer

You just left your room to go down to the kitchen for some quick snack when you bumped into Lucifer. He gave you a nod which you return with a simple wave.

You were about to continue walking when a something white on the back of Lucifer’s coat. You glanced at it and saw it was a sheet of paper. “Lucifer has a flat ass -Mammon”.

That was not Mammon’s handwriting. You recognized it as Levi’s since he always left notes in the manga you borrowed. He must be trying to get revenge on him.

But, will you let your first man get hung up. He did buy you your favorite treat yesterday, even if he denied it.

Turning around, you tiptoed behind Lucifer while you gained distanced on him. Your hand reached out towards the paper.

“MC, why are you-”

Why was a slice of Lucifer’s cake in your hand? You froze up as you realized the situation you were in.

You just groped one of the strongest demons in hell. Dear Diavolo, please make sure my funeral is fun.

“MC?” You didn’t have the strength in you to look into Lucifer’s face. You weren’t ready to face death. No matter how thick he was.

“MC.” You knew that tone. He was getting angry. You should really let of his cheek, but you so overcome with fear that you can’t move.

A blink of an eye. That’s all it took for you to have you back against the wall with Lucifer’s arm trapping you. Heat seems to be radiating off of him in thick rolls.

“MC, look at me,” he growled out. Your eyes briefly flickered up before dropping down once you saw that fire in his eye.

A gloved hand traveled from the base of your neck up to your chin where it gripped it tightly before tilting your head up. You were met with the sight of Lucifer’s smirking with his red eyes slanted in mischievous.

“Looks like someone’s being disobedient. I want you in my room by the time I return to it. You better be ready to be punish.”

With that, he let go of your chin and walked away. The sign balled in your fist seem to go unnoticed by him.

“Got in trouble for this dang lie,” you growled out, throwing the paper in the wastebin. Even if you tried to act disgruntled about what happen, the butterflies in your stomach on what was about to happen told a completely different story.

Mammon

It was a complete accident. Mammon was out most of the night drinking and stumbled into your room about 3 am asking you to hide him.

You got out of bed and helped him sit down on it. His clothes were strewed haphazardly on him. Guess someone had a good time.

“MC, MC, MC, MC,” he whined while kicking his feet around. He was making so much noise that it would be so easy for Lucifer to know he was here.

“What?” You asked in a quiet voice. He stopped calling your name and instead held his arms out and made grabby motions towards you.

“You haven’t talked to me in foreverrrrrrrrr.” You literally talked to him at school. He’s the one who’s been gone most of the night.

You made your way over to stare at him. His brown skin had a heavier red tint underneath it with his bluish yellow eyes glazed over. He really got wasted tonight.

Mammon lean up a little and wrapped his arms around you. Yanking you down the bed next to him, he cuddled into you. “Wvndoisnvf”

“What?” you asked, leaning away from him. He made a low groan in the base of his throat before pulling you down into him.

“Warm. You’re warm... but I’m hot... too much clothes,” he slurred. You navigated your head so you could get a view of him. He was staring at the wall behind.Then like a light bulb going off, his eyes widen. “I can- I can teleport to my room. And change... Be right back.”

He unwrapped his arms from around you and started rolling off the bed. The dumb idiot.

Shooting up, you grabbed whatever you could get your hands on. Which was his upper back.... and an entire handful of his butt.

“Mammon, you can’t teleport,” you growled out. You pulled at him to try to get him to get more into the bed. He was literally on the edge of the bed, tilting. If he fell on the floor, it would definitely make enough noise to wake up Lucifer.

“Mmm, harder,” he grumbled. Remember, MC, he’s drunk He doesn’t know what he’s saying.

“Mammon, if you don’t get in the bed, I won’t cuddle you,” you threaten. He let out a small whine, but he scooted into the bed. Relief filled you as you released your grip on him. Now, you can go to sleep.

Mammon’s arms found their way around you and pulled you down again. You didn’t fight against him or the warmth he provided.

“Wait,” he mumbled. His hand wrapped around yours and pulled at it. You allowed him to move it lower. He placed it on top of his butt and released your hand.

You were too tired to question him. So you fell asleep with one arm wrapped around him and the other on top of his butt.

Leviathan

“Hey, Levi, I was wondering if I could-”

Your words died in your throat as you stared at the scene in front of you. You knew you should’ve knocked, but you didn’t think it was a big deal. Boy were you wrong.

In the middle of his room, in a pink and white maid costume was Levi. His hands were froze in the midst of pulling up some tight pink stockings.

“I can- um- Are you busy?”You didn’t know where to look at him. You tried to look at his face, but the pink eyeliner was causing you to stare. His neck was a no go with the bell choker on it.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” You jumped at the ear piercing screaming coming out of him. His face was the deepest shade of red you have ever seen it get.

“Levi?” a voice downstairs called out. Followed by the sound of footsteps.

“Sorry, scared him. Everything’s fine,” you yelled out. Yet the footsteps kept coming. In a fit of panic, you entered the room and shut the door. You were quick to lock the door behind you.

“OMG OMG OMG OMG KMS KMS I’m such a disgusting otaku,” he cried sinking to the floor. His hands covered his face as he started crying.

“No, Levi, sweetie. You look amazing,” You comforted walking over. He let out a small sniffle, but seem to be slowing on crying. “Is that the limited edition Ruri- chan maid outfit you were telling me about last time?”

His head lifted up with a giant smile on his face. His nose was a little red from crying, but it blended in with the blush on his cheeks.

“You- you remembered,” he croaked out while wiping the tears. He pulled his legs together and rested his chin on it, allowing you to see his entire beautiful face. “I got it in the mail today. And I was just going to put it on the mannequin and take some pictures. But-”

He trailed off for a little as the blush returned again. He let out a groan. His head dropped in embarrassment. “I can’t believe I forgot to lock the door. You probably think I’m some gross otaku who like to dress up in maid costumes all the time.”

“I mean, you look hot while doing it, so I don’t see a problem with it,” you admitted, glancing at his figure. He was a little muscular, but his shape seem to accentuate the outfit in the best ways.

“Hey, is everything okay in there?” Lucifer’s voice rang through the door. You glanced at Levi to see his face still red and his pink gloved hand gripping the sides of the costume.

“I locked the door. Don’t worry, he can’t come in,” you whispered. Trying to comfort him some more, you ran your fingers through his hair.

“Y-yeah, I’m okay. MC scared me while.. I was playing a game. Sorry for screaming,” Levi mustered out. Lucifer let out a long sigh before his footsteps disappeared.

You released a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Levi visabily relaxed too.

“Sorry for bargaining in. I was trying to asking to borrow a new manga,” you explained. Levi let out a cough as he stood up. Your head lifted up as he grew in height.

“Sorry for showing you this gross side to me,” he grumbled, pulling the bottom of the skirt down. Guess it wasn’t made wit hhis long legs in mind. It showed so much legs. Not that you were complaining.

“You’re just cosplaying, nothing wrong with it. Plus as I mentioned earlier, you look hot af in the maid outfit. I mean damn,” you growled the last word. A dark red blush exploded over his face as a low whimper slipped out of him.

“Well, if you like it. Would you mind-um- roleplaying a little.”

You took a step forward and wrapped your arms his waist. You looked up at him with a innocent smile, but in each hand was a butt cheek. “Serve your master, Levi.”

I apologize for stopping here, but Tumblr just didn’t seem to like this curse post and I’m so tired that I can’t force myself to write the other brothers only to delete it again. I do plan on doing the other 4 brothers.

5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do respond, cos I believe it’s the right thing to do.

6) What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

I don’t write angsty endings. I have angst and drama in the fic itself, but everything always has a happy ending. Though I suppose final night kinda had one but that’s only because it’s a fic that is written within an episode and the episode didn’t end well.

7) What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

THEY’RE ALL HAPPY! They also all end in weddings, like, all of them. I had a certain plot in all my fics that I found appeals so well to everyone so I write the same outline in different fandoms and it always 100% works.

8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you've written?

I did for the X-Men fandom, I wrote a few crossovers with the other films that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were in. The craziest one I did was unfinished and called The Xavier Brothers Household, where I took a bunch of James McAvoys characters from other things and made them all brothers to Charles. It was crazy.

9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

The odd one here and there, but nothing major.

10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do, an it’s always hot and heavy and very romantic.

Pretty much all of them until my most recent Bad Reputation one, but then I stopped saying yes to people who asked because I always asked them to send me a link to where it’s posted and they wouldn’t and I’d find it myself and it’d be under their name with no mention of me or a link to the original fic, so I stopped saying yes.

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No.

14) What's your all time favorite ship?

That’s impossible to answer there have been so many, but I think the first one you have is one you can always fall back on, especially when you’re between fandoms, so I still find myself picturing Jessie and James from Pokemon ^_^

15) What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

There’s very few fics I’ve never finished, only in the early days never anything recent. There was a Harry Potter drarry fic of mine called Openly Confused, which isn’t even on AO3 but I think it’s still on my fanfiction.net account. I’d got to the last chapter and lost all interest in it and never finished it.

16) What are your writing strengths?

I like to think anything romantic. I could spend pages, and HAVE, with one character just thinking about the other.

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

I’m not the best writer I don’t know too many big descriptive words and such so my writing is very basic. I’ve been told that alot. But also been told that people like that cos they can get lost in the feelings rather than the imagery, and I’ve also been told that people who don’t have english as their first language enjoy my fics cos they’re easy to read, so it is a weakness, but it had a plus side too.

18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

As I don’t speak any other language, that’s never come up.

19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Pokemon. Rocketshipping. Most of my fics are still out there on what’s left of the yahoo webrings. I found most of them still up on an angelfire site, they were written in 1997/8 and are the most corny crappiest pieces of writing I have ever read lol Yet I still remember being so proud of them at the time. They’re here if you’re interested, just do Ctrl F and search for starrose and it’ll take you to them.

20) What's your favorite fic you've written?

Definitely Guardian of the Soulless. Why? I couldn’t really tell you, I guess I’m just really proud of the story I did, of the relationship growing between Geralt and Jaskier. And the bomb at the wedding scene, my God I’d never written anything so intense, and the shootout near the end, so much blood omg it was really outside my comfort zone and from the feedback I got I think I did really well.

Having said that, all of my long fics hold special places in my heart. My Black Sails fic L/S: I Will Stand Here With You, Flint/Silver, had the most amount of porn I have ever written in a fic before lol It was my longest ever fic at 165,104 words.

My x-men fic We Met At The Park got super famous in the fandom, had so much fanart done for it, and of course the cosplaying mentioned up above.

And of course a shout out to my most recent fic Bad Reputation, which has become my comfort love since I began it in February. My version of Jared and Jensen live rent free in my head, they’re all I currently think about, even more than Sam and Dean.

Oblivion........ like the other games have traits I like more, but also cons. Like... if I had to pick a game to just play with only the Unofficial Patch, it’d be that one.

3: When and how you got into TES? I was at a game store with my brother and we saw Oblivion with all these award “amazing game” stickers on it on clearance. So picked it up. I wasn’t impressed right away (remember picking dark elf tho) so put it down. My bro played it and said “omg you have to get out of the tutorial dungeon that sucks but the rest of the game is so good!” So I made a bosmer and did and there rest is history. TES has been a special interest of mine and a big comfort series for a decade now! 4: Favorite race Bosmer! Dunmer are a close second though. Thanks Morrowind. 5: Favorite province Valenwood........... love it............ Cyrodiil too because I’m basic. 6: Favorite character Ahdjgh hard to pick because there are so many! Dibella - because I like how she’s the divine for the arts, and actual true love and beauty in the world (feel like she’s the divine most likely to say gay rights and trans rights). That vibes with me.

Makes me sad that both in the games and in the fandom, she’s reduced to “ha ha slutty sex goddess”.

“The Road Most Travelled”, “Peaceful Waters”, “Stilt Sunrise”, “Auri-El’s Ascension”, “Sunrise of Flutes”, “Harvest Dawn”, “All’s Well” “The Streets of Whiterun”, “Secunda” (this is one of my all time favourite video game songs!), “Sovngarde”, “One They Fear”

Then from ESO which has other composers too: “Northpoint Nocturne”, “Moth, Butterfly, and Torchbug”, and “Grazelands Dawn” (mostly because it’s a remix of “The Road Most Travelled” 🥺)

Oh, and this song from the Morrowind dlc because the remaster of “Nerevar Rising” from 2:54 onward. (which how could I forget “Nerevar Rising”? Ugh it gives me feels! The Oblivion and Skyrim main themes are very near and dear to me too)

Also really enjoyed this song from Clockwork City - captures the melancholy vibe and I like the clock noises in it.

20: In your opinion, what is the scariest thing in TES?

I can’t stand spiders so anytime anything having to do with them shows up... I play with mods that remove them and in ESO, I have a list of dungeons and places to avoid. If I have to do one, I make someone go with me and kill them for me lol.

The Lighthouse Quest in Skyrim was also mega spooky. As for lore, soul trapping and the Soul Cairn really freaks me out! I can’t bring myself to use soul trapping because it bothers me :( I headcanon that when a soul gem runs out of charge, the soul is freed because it’s the only way I can sleep at nigh leave me alone lol 21: Favorite main quest Morrowind, hands down. I will infodump and discuss that game’s plot forever. 22: Favorite side quest

I really like the Daedric Shrine quests, they’re always fun. Also love the silly little short quests like in Morrowind when you have to help the guy get his pants back, or in ESO where you gotta find the lost dog in Valenwood and pet it.

Oblivion has loads of side quests I loved... the missing dunmer painter, Hackdirt, that quest with the ladies who are killing men, the Floating Bowl quest... the mystery at Chorrol Castle....

23: Most frustrating experience in a TES game

I get mad any time the sneaking mechanics in ESO don’t work like the main games. Because I always play an archer-thief lol.

That one fabricant machine puzzle in Tribunal.... oh man........ I had to look it up.

And also the final boss for Clockwork City was annoying. Don’t go to the Clockwork City!

24: Funniest experience in a TES game

Other than moments intended to be funny, I sometimes laugh whenever I miss a jump and end up dying from fall damage. It’s so ridiculous.

Dagoth Ur’s “What are you doing?!” when you first attack the Heart always gets a chuckle out of me too. He sounds so... upset and disappointed in you? Lol

25: Most badass moment in a TES game

The ending to ESO’s main quest was a rly big power fantasy moment for me.

Also more mundane, but I felt really cool and powerful when I got to the point in Morrowind where I could one shot kill cliff racers lol

26: Saddest experience in a TES game

The ESO side quest, “The Soul-Meld Mage” in Coldharbour. After that one, I had to step away for a bit.... man. It hurt my heart and I still feel so bad. That was a case in the game where I really felt impacted by how cruel and awful Molag Bal is. Like I *knew* but that quest played with my emotions and made it personal.

27: Favorite area/region

Valenwood from ESO. I spend all my time there, and sometimes go to Summerset or Vvardenfell lol.

Hi Ben! I see you’re still enjoying the absolute insanity that has gripped tumblr the last couple of days XD . As someone who’s been a tumblr lurker for a number of years, this is hysterical enough from my side. I can’t imagine the sheer ridiculousness of seeing it firsthand. Virtually every blog I check, no matter if they’ve ever seen a SPN episode or not, has been posting about it. It is WILD.

I feel like I’m at least a little lucky that I always skewed more ‘lock’ than anything (mainly because my 'who’ took a hard dive into Torchwood and never really recovered), so there’s less emotional flashbacks/richochets/rollercoastering/etc. (Yes, I did in fact see the news about Sherlock season 5, but I never saw season 4 because of some of the feedback I heard before I got the chance to watch it, so it’ll take something truly impressive to draw me back now.) Although in a roundabout way Sherlock is what eventually led me to Teen Wolf because of multi-focus blogs, so I guess I can thank it for that.

Work was one of those super fun days where the manager leaving not long after I got there was all “Yeah, it’s been really calm, and both deliveries so far have been small and should be easy to deal with." So of course, about an hour after he leaves, four more pallets full of stuff show up, so I spent pretty much my whole shift trying to get everything checked in. On the one hand, yay, less customers, on the other, hauling that shit around in a mask gets hot.

That dish sounds delicious, and definitely better than my sad lunch/dinner at work. Ngl, I’m extremely jealous.

And omg, the last line post now has me nervous again because there are multiple options of who is saying whatever it is to whom, and all of them hurt. XD Also very here for the idea of a pack of three year-olds trying to pull a Parent Trap on their respective dads. Is there a treehouse or playhouse they can lock them into to talk? A moment of Jax and Stiles pointing out that they both agree on this, so they should know that it’s serious? Trying to make them draw or write down why they’re sad, or whatever similar coping skills the dad usually has the kid use? Trying to take away a treat of some sort/ground them from doing something/etc until they agree to talk to each other? So many possibilities.

I cackled at that coffee shop guy post, because the sheer obliviousness demonstrated by the op throughout the story is almost the exact energy being displayed by Peter in my fake dating fic and seeing a story of it happening in RL about took me out. XD

Also, I’m super curious what kinds of rituals you’re planning for the fic. Good, bad, druidic, wolfy, pack, wedding, birth, sexy, friendship, binding, warding, ??? Inquiring minds want to know (whenever you are ready to share of course. Inquiring minds can also be patient. ;D )

Oh, a funny moment at work! I was picking up one of the pallets after I’d emptied it, and there was a knot in one of the boards that I almost knocked out as I grabbed it, and my brain’s immediate thought was "Whoops, almost just popped the knot on that wood”, immediately followed by the thought “Oh god, no, jesus christ, PHRASING, tonight of all nights, no." (I am super sad that there is no one I work with that I could scream about this with.)

Okay I’m gonna add the preview to your fic from your last message to this one so I have it all in one message here. Because after writing over 3K yesterday my brain is just really tired and I keep wanting to nap today. Haven’t done much and replying to two messages is a bit much.

On the flip side, I did update Final Masquerade today and that chapter is almost 7K long. So yay!

“Peter, what the hell are you doing in my closet?” Noah’s voice sounded like it was thankfully more bemused than annoyed, but Peter knew that it could be a fine line to walk.

“Trying not to cry in despair, for the most part. Why is everything you own at least a size too big and some shade of brown?” Peter called back over his shoulder, still staring at the somewhat neatly organized rainbow of dull, listless neutrals in growing dismay.

“I’m wearing a green shirt right now, asshole, and not all of us are interested in looking like we got squeezed into our clothing by force. Some of us actually acknowledge our age, and try to dress somewhat appropriately. Some of us also understand the value of blending in.”

“Okay, firstly, age, as they say, is just a number. Secondly, there’s trying not to stand out, and there’s just giving up. Though frankly, I’ve never quite put much stock in either.”

“Color me shocked to hear that from someone I’ve seen wear a cardigan like it was an actual shirt on more than one occasion.”

Peter shrugged as he continued to rifle through hangers and peek into storage containers, though he wasn’t certain that Noah could even see him from within the depths of the walk-in. “If you’ve got it, flaunt it.” The sigh that answered him held a level of long-suffering, begrudging patience that Peter was far more used to hearing directed at Stiles than himself.

Why yes, there is indeed a trip suit shopping in the story. Basically, I am cramming in every random obnoxiously trope-y thing I can remember from the few rom coms I’ve seen. Also, there is so much food in this story. Like, it’s ridiculous how often there someone ends up eating something. I’m not even sure where it came from.

And honestly, I think Tumblr’s 2012 insanity streak is the only thing keeping me sane right now. Because holy shit what a week.

I never really got into Sherlock myself or Doctor Who. I think I saw one episode of Dr. who (with David Tennant I think) and three episodes of Sherlock because my mom used to watch it.

I saw 12 seasons of Supernatural though, I definitely had an obsession with Destiel and particularly Dean Winchester. Fun fact; Cosplaying Dean made me comfortable enough to come out to my friends as transgender. Because I realized that I couldn't hide my gender even if I tried so hard for over 23 years.

And it was Supernatural that eventually led me to Teen Wolf. Well, that and Grimm, which was also a really fun show and really interesting.

Oh boy, yeah whenever a manager told me that I knew I was gonna be in for a very interesting night. For sure, sucks that you had to do that in a mask though. But on the other hand, no customer interaction does sound like it was a nice break in a way. And OMG I snorted!

It’s a good thing we don’t work together, I feel like the jokes wouldn’t have ended. My god I’m still snickering.

I do have a bit of an idea to have them go to the cinema with the kids and make them watch the parent trap, which of course leads to all sorts of shenanigans back at home where Allison and Malia are constantly trying to lock the dads in a room together, aided by Derek and Laura because Malia can’t reach the door handles just yet. Meanwhile Stiles and Jackson are coming up with increasingly elaborate schemes for two three-year-olds that involve their dads being locked in tree houses, sheds, and other places. Not to mention, the kindergarten pact.

And I like to think at some point the wives and Melissa start helping the kids as well. I mean I’d really like to build one giant polyamorous family for this fic.

What’s one thing you have never done? >> I’ve never gone on a cruise. <<< Me either. There’s a lot of things I haven’t done... like drive a car.

Why? Is this something you would try in the future if you had the chance? Part of me would like to be able to drive, but I’m also scared. Plus, there’s a lot that would go into it. It would be quite expensive between getting a car and the accessible parts needed. I also would need to find someone who could teach me how to drive with the accessible parts. It just hasn’t been a pressing issue for me, but like I said there is a part of me that would like to be able to drive myself so I can go wherever I need to go, whenever I want. What is one trend you wish you have been a part of? I don’t care much about trends.

Or do you think that following trends is stupid? Some are, ha. But honestly, do what you want. I’m not saying I never follow a trend, but it’s just not something I pay much attention to. I’m old.

Do you enjoy reading fanfictions? About who? Or do you write fanfictions, too? I don’t read any.

What is something you own that you wish was in your favorite color? Hmm. I have a lot of favorite colors, to be honest. I own a lot of things that are some of those colors.

^ Do you consider that talent at all? What, autotune? If a song is catchy and I vibe with it, I vibe with it. It can still be good. Autotune doesn’t help everyone, either. Look at Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian lol. Some people just can’t sing. Autotune wouldn’t help me either. And actually, with Ke$ha in particular, I’ve heard her without autotune and she can sing.

Do you like cosplays? I’m not a cosplayer, but the amount of time and creativity some people put into their costumes is quite incredible. I’ve seen some really cool costumes.

If you were to participate in one, what/who would you dress up as?

Do you sometimes answer surveys with “Idk”/“Idr” because you’re too lazy? I sometimes really don’t know or remember, but there are times I don’t feel like getting into something or elaborating much.

Are you usually open to trying a new food that you aren’t familiar with? No. I’m very picky and not adventurous with trying new foods. I really just eat the same few things. Have you ever tYpEd tHiS wAy (Be honest!)? If so, tell me the first time you got into it: Nooo, I never liked that. It bugged me when other people did it.

Have you ever acted like a bitch and used PMS as an excuse? I did get quite moody and irritable during that time. I still do now and I don’t even that as an excuse anymore. I’m just a moody and irritable person.

Do you know someone who brushes their teeth in the shower all the time? It’s possible. I don’t know most people’s show and teeth brushing habits.

Have you ever tried doing that? Did you like it? Why or why not? No, it just seemed weird to me. I like to keep those things separate.

Do you like countdown surveys? Or are you like me who suck at them? I’ve done a few, but it’s quite rare. I’m not a big fan of those.

Have you ever had to perform a monologue before? Yes. I don’t what I was on during my first year at community college cause I took a couple acting classes for some odd reason. Something totally out of my element and comfort zone. I guess I hoped that it would help me out of my shell, but nope. Parts of it were fun, though. I definitely did better with script memorization than improv. That is really hard to do and definitely takes skill. Some people just have that comedic timing and genius and others, like me, do not. Another thing I hated was the first class I took (not the improv), the professor recorded our performances (the class was literally called acting for the camera or something like that) and then we’d watch everyone’s as a class to critique. Some were group/partner performances, but most were solo. Omg that was TORTURE. I hated seeing myself on camera as it was, I’m my own worst critic, but to have everyone else see it, too... what a nightmare.

Have you ever helped/taught someone older than you how to use email before? Yeah and other things regarding the internet.

Speaking of which, are you patient when it comes to instructing others? Uhh it depends.

Do you ever worry about people finding your layout annoying? I mean, I want them to be able to easily access the surveys. Otherwise, I choose the layout I like and don’t care if other people like it as long as they can get to the surveys. I had a layout once that some kind of issue like that and someone messaged me about it and I changed it.

What is the stupidest bandwagon you’ve ever jumped in to? Last summer beaded bracelets that you made yourself with different words on them and scrunchies became a thing and I for some reason briefly got into it. I bought a bead set that had a variety of bead types, colors, and letters and made several bracelets. I also ordered a few from Etsy and spent too much. Like I said, it was a very short phase. The bead set is just sitting on my shelf collecting dust and I haven’t even worn the bracelets in months. I do still wear the scrunchies, so that’s something.

Do you listen to Panic At The Disco? If so, how do you feel about Ryan and Jon leaving the band? I like some of their music (I was especially into their “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” album back in the day), but I didn’t keep up with the band members. I don’t recall hearing about that news.

Do you like kids? Why or why not? I mean, don’t not like them. I’m just not a kid person. I haven’t even been around kids in a long time and I don’t want any of my own. I can handle kids in small does, but they can be very overwhelming and exhausting. And annoying.

Do you not mind having dogtears on your books or do you prefer using bookmarks? If so, how many bookmarks do you have? I never dog ear books. That’s a crime! haha. But seriously. I just use bookmarks, even if it’s just a scrap of paper or something. I’ll find something cause I will not bend the pages.

What is your biggest pet peeve? One is eating sounds, which is the one I always mention when this question comes up. I certainly have others, but it’s easier to just say that and it is one of my big ones.

ClexaCon: Day 1

Okay, Let me attempt to do something like organize my thoughts here. Photos will come later, ones that come at all; mostly there are professional photos, videos, and gifs available of the noteworthy moments, and I intend to reblog a lot of those later. In the meantime, my photos are on my phone, and the Tumblr app is eating anything I attempt to post with photos.

So. I’m going to try to do this chronologically because it’s how I tried to organize my brain, and I feel clearer than I have in a while. Panel titles or events in bold. Fandom and personal stuff is included, multishipping probably rampant because I just want my faves happy, alright???

Under the cut because long. Day 1 only because long, and because by time I got near the end of typing this, it was after midnight and I was getting less coherent.

Exploring Gender through Cosplay

As often as I cosplay, mine are fairly casual, and I’d never actually gotten a good chance to attend a cosplay panel of any sort with a clear mind. This was pretty awesome, all the different things you can do to change not only the costume but also your appearance, really make the cosplay work. A lot of the sentiment/message besides the practical application stuff was just “have fun, don’t be an ass, think about the character.” All good advice.

One of the panelists was visibly uncomfortable with his cosplay during the panel. It was understandable, but he looked great anyway and still gave great information and asides and personal experiences, and I’d love to see him do a panel where he’s more comfortable.

One Day at a Time

Okay, so one of the things I LOVE about this con and haven’t seen at the couple others I’ve been to is the intro videos. For each of the big panels, they’ve played a video beforehand, about the pairing or the character. If you’re rusty on the details, it’s a great refresher, and if you love the character or pairing, it’s just fantastic to watch. I believe they included these and the actress reactions in the official videos they’ve been posting. They’re great, super shippy, and I’ve teared up or cried at more than one.

ODAAT is one of the ones that made me teary, because it touched on Elena and her Papi and then how happy she and Syd are and just...

Emotions, y’all. I’ve got them.

Anyway, it was great. Isabella seemed pretty comfortable speaking, very aware of her presence and her platform. Sheridan was a little more like Syd, a little awkward and a lot geeky (like most of my favorite people, let’s be real). My takeaways from this panel were basically just that they both love Schnider and working with his actor, and that I ship Syd and Elena even harder now.

An executive producer got a call during the panel, and Isabella thought maybe it was about being picked up by a different network, but it ended up being Rita Moreno calling in, which was fantastic except how disappointed Isabella was. Not that she was unprofessional or pouty or anything, just there were a few moments of almost being able to FEEL how much this cast wants the show to keep going, and how much they love each other.

Avalance

Omg. I mean, okay, if you’re following me, you should probably go watch both Avalance and Nyssara panel videos. They’ll do a much better job of relaying anything factual than I will, so I’m mostly focusing on my reactions.

My reactions started with that damned intro vid, because holy hell, Sara and Ava are hot, and have awesome chemistry, and they’re both smart and strong and amazing and I am so, so, so not straight.

Uh. Where was I.

Highlights for me, in no particular order.

Okay, usually celebs look like people in real life, like real people or like their characters. Caity Lotz is MORE attractive in person than she is on tv. HOW THE FUCK IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE

Jes is kinda amazing as a person and actress and I intend to watch everything she’s in after this weekend. She cares deeply, which I know she shares with Ava, but unlike Ava who hides behind the professional shield, Jes just seemed so warm and real and disbelieving of how much people like her. She was having a very emotional day because she’d lost someone she cared about, and when she shared that, I doubt there was a dry eye in the room. The depth of her feeling was almost palpable.

Jes kept reaching out and touching Caity, who was much more physically reserved just in general. Caity is very obviously more familiar with the con circuit, which doesn’t mean she doesn’t care or anything! Just, how many of these could any living person do while still caring deeply and genuinely about every person they talk to? I suspect people have to distance themselves some eventually. Caity wasn’t cold, just more reserved.

Katrina interrupting was the best thing ever. It’s been giffed already. Go find it.

I loved hearing about the tango, about navigating a situation where there are two women who naturally want to take the lead. The lines blurred between where they were talking about themselves as actresses navigating a scene and their characters as people navigating a relationship, and it felt very real and lovely. Hilarious, too, because of course everyone in the Arrowverse (excuse me, Beeboverse) is gorgeous AND smart AND funny.

I’m glad they’re not really broken up I guess? The actresses seemed a little unsure because they filmed a lot of different takes with some differing implications, but they’re not on board with the “on again, off again” thing any more than I am, which is good. On is good.

End of the panel, people sitting behind us (oh! chronological order! I made a friend waiting in line for the ODAAT panel and we’ve mostly stuck together this weekend. She’s not LGBT and hasn’t watched any of the shows but she loves PEOPLE and is trying to learn and has had a lot of cool life experiences. Anyway. If I say “we” or “us” I probably mean me and friend, unless otherwise specified.)

Uh. Right. So. The people sitting behind us were like, “Hey, do you two want tickets to Cocktails for Change?” At first I thought she was trying to sell them, and I already knew I couldn’t afford that, just like I couldn’t afford the Caity/Jes/Katrina photo op I wanted (not complaint, just statement of fact! I got to go and I got to buy the photo op with Caity and I got a hotel room for a couple nights). Then she clarifies that she and her person (I’m gonna go with that when relationship isn’t clear. But oh, the number of happy wlw couples there was just amazing, and at some point I defaulted to assuming anyone there together was together, which wasn’t accurate, but it’s what I was seeing and delighting in and WE NEED MORE REPRESENTATION and omg keep a single train of thought, Kita). The two of them had bought two extra tickets they couldn’t use, couldn’t refund, and hadn’t been able to sell, so they were offering them to us so that somebody would enjoy them.

OMG. Like, who does that? What level of awesomeness to gift two separate $250 tickets to complete strangers??

I helped friend navigate the transfer process and helped her create an eventbrite account, and then we had the tickets, at which point I actually believe it was happening. And then AND THEN

Because clearly that wasn’t enough

they said “oh, we can’t make the trio photo op today, do you want it?”

I still can’t believe they were for real, with that level of awesome. I checked like probably way too many times to make sure they were SURE because

yeah. Made my entire year, at minimum.

Photo Ops

Got the photo op with Caity first. I’ll do pics separately after I scan them; they’re particularly glossy or something and my cell phone is doing a horrible job. So I go in dressed in my femme Snart cosplay, have enough presence of mind to ask (or point? I may have only managed pointing) to stand on her right side because I wanted to be able to hold the cold gun in my right hand.

“Hey, Cold,” she said to me.

SHE RECOGNIZED WHO I WAS DRESSED AS OMGGGGGG

and did I mention fucking gorgeous beyond belief and amazing to boot?

Anyway. She’s also smiling much bigger in my pic with just her than in the next one, when I didn’t have my gun, and I like to think it’s because she still thinks fondly of snart. Captain canary 4eva. Another thing on Saturday I’ll get to in my next post, equally small but equally “omg yessss she still ships it” to my mildly obsessed brain.

Obviously, after they took the pic, I walked blindly in the wrong direction and would’ve walked smack into the makeshift wall if the volunteers hadn’t steered me in the right direction. I don’t usually get star struck, but if it was going to happen, it was going to be with Caity Lotz, so it wasn’t actually a surprise.

Round two, trio photo, and I ended up between Caity and Katrina, who draped herself on my shoulder as she often does for pics. I’ll get to Katrina more for Day 2, but she just seemed very at ease, maybe the most comfortable person in any given room.

After photo ops I practically ran back to my car while still trying to recover, checked into and got settled into my hotel room, changed shoes (omg, as good as those boots are for a couple hours, after ten hours and two miles and lots of standing, my feet STILL hurt day+ later), and then headed back to the venue.

Cocktails for Change

So this was cool just to exist in a room with the celebrities (the theory behind the event and the price tag being you get to interact). We (friend and the people who gave us the tickets and a 5th potential friend we picked up while waiting in line) got to talk to an actress from Wynona (which I apparently badly need to watch. my to-watch list doubled this weekend), and then friend got Jes to agree to come over. That made me love Jes even more because her handlers kept trying to get her to go a different direction after she talked to one table for like half of the time, and Jes pointed at our table, strong and confident and I AM DOING THIS BECAUSE I SAID I WOULD.

I mean, idk what she actually said, but that was her not-subtle body language.

It had to be terribly frustrating for the handlers, who, even though they only got her to three tables total, did a better job with her than they did with most of the celebs. However, I wanted to applaud Jes.

Most of the celebs kept to themselves, or to their partners. Dot was like 5 feet from me for a good 20 minutes, and my inner gleek was ecstatic. Amber Benson was only a few feet farther for about the same amount of time. For her, I actually tried to go say hi, but she was absorbed in conversation with someone else and I didn’t want to interrupt. We made eye contact, though, so that was cool. Katrina, meanwhile, kinda starting circling and then was just like “Nah,” and she went and sprawled on a chair at the side of the room, again the most comfortable looking person there, and just let everyone come to her. Which, honestly, probably would be my recommendation if they change things for this event next year. Clearly, steering the talent to different tables isn’t working, so maybe steer the attendees instead.

Still, it was awesome, and I went back to my room and freaked out about OMG HOW IS MY LIFE THIS AWESOME before crashing hard.

Which I’m gonna do again now. Day 2 post tomorrowish.

Ermanda’s Inner Sanctum: Scorpion 3.20 “Broken Wind”

This week’s episode was another solid to achieve the season’s goal to explore more personal relationships. I like that this episode focused on Paige and Happy in relation to the upcoming Quintis wedding. As the only ladies of Scorpion, they definitely need more moments together and this episode created a platform for that. We also saw Walter, Sly, and Cabe compete for the position of Best Man, which gave us some great comedy. Quintis sounded like they’ve been married for years! The Waige flip was on fire! And we saw what Sly does when he’s not at work and watched him try to bring Cabe into his world!

This post focuses more on Happy and Paige’s dynamic in this episode more than anything else. So let’s get this party started!

Cabe and Sly

Cabe and Sly become close during the election, so it’s no surprise that Sly wants to bring Cabe into his world. He wants the same bond that Cabe formed with Happy. Yet, Cabe is not totally fond of the cosplay scene and declines Sly’s offer. It’s kinda funny that Happy, the person who didn’t realize she made a friend in Ada, reminds Cabe of this act of friendship. Now Cabe could have gone home, but he chooses to play with Sly and his friends. This scenario got me thinking about the extent of Sly’s election storyline and Cabe’s involvement in it.

We already know the election gave Sly more confidence and a bigger purpose for his community outside Scorpion. For Cabe, the election introduced him to Allie Jones. Even though their romance was short-lived, it filled a void Cabe left unfilled for 20 years. But Cabe and Sly in this episode reminded me of a continuous series arc for Cabe as a father figure. Each season Cabe forms a unique relationship with each of his “children” (e.g., Toby and boxing to deal with Quintis woes, being a surrogate father to Walter and now Happy). These multi-episode interactions serve pivotal roles for the geniuses and Paige, helping them to cope with an unfortunate situation or encourage them to push past their fears. Cabe’s relationship with Happy positioned him as surrogate father of the bride when he handled Patrick’s situation, so it’s possible there is a link in this and Cabe is going to serve a bigger role in Sly’s life as well. We shall see! 😉

Happy & Paige: The Females of Scorpion

Happy and Paige have had some great moments together (eps. 1.07 Father’s Day & 2.14 Sun of a Gun), but they are not as close to one another as they are with their co-workers & significant others. However, this mission gives them an opportunity to work together and become closer as Happy chooses Paige to accompany her in the gondola for a systems check. Happy’s choice is a surprise to Paige who never thought Happy trusted her in that manner. Happy explains her choice is simply logical based on the tasks at hand. When danger strikes, Paige and Happy struggle to find common ground in a neutral environment. Their contrasting personalities and coping mechanisms for stressful situations clash, which eventually creates discord between them. There are two things to learn from their journey in this episode: the power of assumption and perception and the importance of word choice. And it all starts with the Quintis wedding’s long to-do list and lack of a wedding party.

Paige wants to offer her help, hoping that Happy will choose her to serve as Maid of Honor. Happy declines because she wants simplicity and is not sold on the idea of pretty flower arrangements and dresses. Paige, who loves weddings, is surprised by the choice to have no wedding party. Now transition to the situation in the compromised gondola. Paige defaults to distraction by talking about the wedding tasks; Happy is quiet, but stern and easily annoyed. Happy states that she is not interested in talking about the wedding and brings attention to their differences, namely calling Paige a cheerleader in comparison to her identification as a genius. This leads to a fight that exposes Happy and Paige’s insecurities that were present long before this point and addressed several times this season. It’s a great moment to see the lives of these two women from a different angle. I’ll start with Paige.

Paige

Paige has worked with Scorpion for almost 3 years and is familiar with everyone’s mannerisms. Happy did not mean to communicate ill intent when she called Paige a cheerleader. Why does Paige react unkind as the EQ person? The social perception of cheerleaders in relation to geniuses ties into Paige’s insecurity of her inability to compete on an IQ level. It’s a logical fact that she will never be able to match the others in IQ, but this doesn’t eliminate the fact that she inadvertently feels inadequate on a daily basis. She is surrounded by geniuses everyday, 24/7. There is no established environment where she gets an opportunity to interact with people who are as emotionally regulated as she is. This is what the geniuses have with Scorpion. Paige has alluded to this several times this season - the most prominent being her relationship with Tim and just recently with Ralph’s girl problems in 3.16 Keep It in Check, Mate and Ada’s father in 3.18 Don’t Burst My Bubble. But you’re probably thinking, Cabe is another EQ person on the team so she can relate to him! This is true, but here are the challenges in this thought. Cabe is not a genius, but he has military/government IQ. He also has EQ, but not as much as Paige (at least this is what is insinuated). Paige can not relate to Cabe’s military experiences and she sees him as a father figure. Therefore, she technically has no EQ buffer within her environment (i.e., a person who directly relates to her and her experiences when she’s not at work). This only adds to the insecurity. Granted, her friendship with Toby gives her the best of both worlds, but this too doesn’t negate the fact that Toby has problems relating to normals even as a genius behaviorist. We have seen Paige contribute to the team’s success in non-EQ ways multiple times. She is aware of this. However, we can’t blame her for giving into her insecurities once in a while, especially when she doesn’t know the intent behind Happy’s word choice. But she gets a win when Happy is impressed how she uses her cheerleading skills, an application of physics, to save their lives.

Happy

As mentioned, Happy’s cheerleader comment is not malicious, but she acknowledges the offense in the comparison she makes. She also gets grumpy and snappy in stressful situations. This is expected for reasons of which Paige and the audience are aware. Plus, Happy’s leather jacket on top of that dark grey fleece hoodie (a jacket we have seen her wear more than 3 times this season 😉) insinuates that she will give off a hardened exterior but uses it to cover her vulnerabilities. Thus, her statements stem from her own insecurities and perceptions. She sees Paige as someone who is beautiful, comfortable as the center of attention, and a more traditional version of what a bride is. This perception ties into the social stereotype of a cheerleader. She doesn’t emulate this, so she is worried that she will disappoint Toby if she doesn’t conform even though she agreed to a big wedding for the happy memories. This also shows how Happy assumes Paige wants to help her get girly for her wedding when Paige mentions dresses and flower arrangements. This is simply not the case. Happy is a gorgeous woman in love with a man who loves her for who she is. Paige reminds her of this when Happy explains herself. She also lets Happy know that she doesn’t care about her preferences; she wants to help to reduce the stress of planning. She has no intention to turn her into something she isn’t.

I appreciate how the ladies are handled in this episode. It’s easy to argue what each person should or should not do in these situations. There are always areas for improvement. They could have made better choices in the way they treated one another. Yet, Happy and Paige’s interactions show how they want what other has to squash their insecurities but understand how these opposing qualities are not what make them valuable and unique individuals. Their reconciliation in the ambulance creates more opportunities to come to one another in the future because they bonded over their insecurities. They also have cute moments to remember like when Walter makes a comment about their combined weight and they correct him at the same time! 😂😂😂 I can’t wait for more Quieen moments!

First, I hope you’re enjoying your game. One of my friends posted about how she’d just gotten her copy of it, and her husband’s response was basically “so, I’ll just bring you food occasionally and see you in a few days?" Also, I hope you’re feeling better. And man you are KILLING ME with these previews. Oh god, Peter, what are you planning now? How bad is this gonna hurt and for how long? (Don’t answer that, I’m afraid to know. XD )

I think all those Hogwarts Houses are excellent choices. I always think it’s fun to see how people sort various characters, because I rarely have any that I feel are firmly one House (maybe it’s because I’m a proud HuffleClaw, myself, doomed to waffle between Houses every time I take a quiz or read an analysis on the subject.) Side not - can you imagine the furor that would have occurred about a Slytherin and a Gryffindor hooking up in Fourth Year (I think?), and then pulling an innocent little Hufflepuff transfer under their spell? Would any of them have played Quidditch? (Peter I feel definitely played, though I can’t decide what position. Undecided on the other two.)

Poor Peter, having to behave himself. Although debatably as long as he kept the fangs put away it wouldn’t necessarily be a risk, though I can see him being worried anyway. That’s why he needs to find someone to spin his fur into yarn he can then make them scarves/gloves/sweaters/etc with. And why he’s so into the clothes sharing. Anything to get his scent on them as thoroughly as possible.

And I am so here for PTA Dad Peter. Helping out at school functions so he can keep an eye on the younger kids. Building new, supportive relationships with his older kids, helping them with college applications and essays, making up lists of stuff they’ll need for dorm rooms, finding apartments if any are going to the same or nearby schools and can share, making sure they all have pictures and mementos to help combat homesickness. And now I’m thinking about the memory quilt again. Goddammit I don’t want to make myself cry. Again. "Imagine Peter hearing their heartbeats for the first time." Oh nevermind, I see you’ll do it for me. Ugh, my feels. Peter shifting to his wolf form and curling protectively around them all the time, head pressed up to their abdomen so that he can listen and scent at maximum effectiveness. Them just gently stroking through his fur until one or both fall asleep. (Also, how quickly do the other wolves in the family pick up on the changes in scent? How do they react? How do the older kids react to the idea of more siblings in general?)

And you know that whichever one wasn’t the one pregnant at the time would be super protective at the time, then turn around and insist they were fine and that the others were worrying unnecessarily when they were the one pregnant. (Also, glad your brother was okay!) I also like that it apparently took them nearly 20 years to learn about planning for this sort of thing. I know you’ve mentioned Peter and Chris being the ones that do the stupid thing next chapter (or something to that effect), but really I feel the biggest moment of "what the hell, guys?” is Noah getting knocked up just two months after Chris. It’s like, you guys had a huge, in your face, live example of why protection is important, and yet… I’m also just going to assume that they have at least a king size bed to accommodate that many people, even if many of them are tiny people, and none of them mind piling. That’s still a lot of bodies cramming into one bed. (That much room would also come in very handy for…other reasons, which is why I feel certain Peter would insist upon it.)

Also, omg, I was not expecting to be attacked by those pictures like that. Tag your porn, dude XD . But really, can you imagine the poor, unsuspecting college friends their kids bring home for visits getting a triple barrel of that with no warning? Like they’ve just seen the goofy, weird pics that they have on their phone/on their walls. They were not prepared for the sheer DILF power of that household live and in person. But then, is anyone, really?

Loving all the names. I actually know a guy named John who has a son named Jackson, so that one was particularly amusing to me. I also noticed that none of the kids have been named after anyone in Noah’s family, at least so far. And don’t worry, I wasn’t expecting to have those spoiled yet, though I’m happy to know you liked some of my suggestions :D . Now if I could just remember which all ones I went with… Didn’t really think to put it in anywhere, but for some reason I’ve always liked Alexander as a middle name for Peter, though I remain undecided on the other two.

And yes, loving the idea of more family cosplay. Oh god, they would never get ANYWHERE at a con because they’d be getting stopped every 3 feet for pictures. For Star Trek, I feel like they’d do groupings from assorted series and versions. Chris, Peter, and Noah are totally OS Spock, Kirk, and Bones (Peter with strategically torn shirt, of course). I think Melissa would be their Uhura, and Natalie would be Yeoman Rand (she wants to see if she can fake the hairstyle), because I dare anyone to tell them they can’t pull off dresses that short. Since he has sword training from his hunter background, Melissa makes Julio be their Sulu. Boyd, Derek, and Jordan would be Picard, Riker, and Data (Derek would totally figure out how to do that weird way Riker sits down, too.) After much debate, I feel Stiles would be Kirk from the recent films (NuTrek, or whatever they call it), Jackson would be Spock, and Malia would be Bones. I think Lydia would make an excellent Uhura for them, as well. Scott would be Scotty because he can remember to answer to it, and it gives him an excuse to do a TERRIBLE fake accent. I’m leaning towards Isaac for their Chekov, but beyond that can’t think what to do with everybody else, I’m not familiar enough with the different tv shows.

Marvel we’ve talked about some. DC I have a few random ideas. I always thought it would be funny to see Peter, Derek, Jackson, and Liam do the assorted Robins. While I feel Peter is DEFINITELY more of a Jason personality wise, I think he’d be far more comfortable in Dick’s costume that Derek would be, and if Derek was Jason the heights would line up better. Jackson would be Tim, and Liam would be Damian (because who else would play DC’s tiny and angry than TW’s tiny and angry?) Also, don’t overlook the fun and variety of villains DC offers. The last group costume I did was a cross between Bill & Ted and assorted Bat-villains. We called it Bruce & Dick’s Excellent Adventure, and even photoshopped a sign to carry to help people get it. Among our line-up was Cleo-Catra, Ivybeth the First, The Poison Queen, Harley Antoinette, Joker Napoleon, Freud Nygma, and Bane-thoven. (I really need to do something with the various pieces of my costume someday.) I know there are several girls in the Bat-fam now, too, depending on who all wants to be a part of it, or if they want to skew more Justice League/Teen Titans/Young Justice.

Oh man, Disney. So many options. I feel like Lydia and Allison as Ariel and Prince Eric is a given. I also like the idea of Kira and Malia as Belle and the Beast, partially because of Malia’s issues about having to hide her nature, and also because I think she could absolutely rock that suit. Ben could join them as Chip. (Stiles would actually make an excellent Belle, but I feel that might just get weird.) I can see Danny helping Erica rig up a Sleeping Beauty dress with strands of LEDs that keep shifting from pink to blue to green so the dress keeps appearing to change color (it’s a massive hit.) I don’t know why, but I really want Stiles and Jackson as Elsa and Anna for some reason. Scott can join them as either Kristoff or Olaf, depending on the mood he’s in. Can’t quite decide for the other pack kids. Since the theme is nominally just fairy tales, I think the dads could just opt for a classier, fancier version of their Red Riding Hood looks. Maybe go for a steampunk edge or something (I would have included links here, but Google was not my friend today and I couldn’t find quite what I wanted.) Rich velvets and wools in vivid scarlet and forest-y greens, black and deep brown leather and suede, lots of polished buttons and buckles, loose cotton shirts unlaced at the throat. Mmm, yes. And Peter could have one of those super fancy Victorian type nightgowns with the long sleeves and high necks made out of super soft and fine materials. Instead of getting some kind of mask to wear, he’d just do his partial/beta/whatever you want to call it shift and let them add extra fur on with makeup to blend it in. Everyone just thinks it’s amazing effects work. He does opt for some cute wolf paw slippers since cons tend to get snotty about people going around barefoot. (Applying and removing the fur is also how they learn his ears are particularly…sensitive…to a delicate touch in that form.)

Lord of the Rings. Yes. Like, I can’t figure out who or any real details right now but. Just. Yes.

I feel like some years they enter the costume contest and some they don’t, just depending on their moods. (They totally take the Jurassic Park group to a con and people adore it. It makes for great skits.)

Random bonus thought for the day concerns dancing. I was thinking about the whole drag queen thing, and whether Jungle was around in the 90s, and it sort of segued into what types of dancers they are. I feel like Peter is a very good dancer. Not quite competition level, maybe, but very skilled, nonetheless. Like Malia, he’s just very comfortable in himself, in all forms, which helps with spatial and bodily awareness, in addition to his natural grace and balance. I also feel he’s the most likely to have taken, like, ballroom lessons or similar as a kid, maybe at a parent or grandparent’s insistence. With Noah I keep thinking about the various videos I’ve seen of Dylan dancing both outside of TW and as Stiles, and I feel his dad would have a very similar style of awkward disaster from the chest up, undulations worthy of a harem girl from the waist down (those Stilinski boys tend to leave a lot of confused boners in their wake.) In Noah’s case, settling into his frame after that last growth spurt and learning self-defense/martial arts helped smooth most of the awkward out, but it resurfaces every so often. Chris I think would be the least likely to dance, just because I feel his background would make him very self-conscious about it, whether he wants to feel that way or not. He’ll dance if it’s just the three of them or just family, or for a slow dance, but that’s normally it. However, if he’s drunk enough, or if Noah or Peter have dragged him into a dark corner to makeout for a while and gotten him all distracted and relaxed, he can be pursued out onto the floor to show off some actually pretty sweet moves once he lets go.

Anyway, gonna try and wrap this up, because I just realized it’s way later than I realized, and I should try and get some sleep at some point. Enjoy your game, I hope it’s epic!

When this little paragraph made me realize I had a gaping plot hole in this chapter and I got to go back to fix it. My god my friend, you are a lifesaver!

Because oh yeah I wanted to make it canon that wolves can detect a heartbeat of the embryo at 4-5 weeks. Which is about a week after the heart starts beating. And oh yeah, Chris is two months along by the time Noah gets pregnant... shit. I wrote something else in that flashback.

I also finished writing my chapter today! Yay! All glorious 13K of it. And I’ll be editing and posting tomorrow (or technically later today as it is past midnight.) Oh, I’m so excited, I’m so excited to see what you think!

As for the game, my god it is awesome!!! I played a few hours today but my heart raced so much I had to pause after two hours because I was getting dizzy because of my heart. But it’s a great game so far, very accessible and it just draws me in completely. It’s so good.

Definitely what I needed after my day at work.

hehehe I’m happy to see my previews and writing and getting emotions, it sounds so bad, but that makes me smile because it’s getting the desired response and that’s awesome.

I think Peter would’ve been a chaser or beater, somehow those seem to fit him well. Noah played but he was a keeper. (which would be funny if Peter was a chaser since they would get to battle lover’s disputes on the quidditch pitch) Chris I feel wouldn’t play quidditch, he’s too busy trying to keep track of his studies and really just likes to watch the sport but not participate. I think he’d be more into care of magical creatures and defends against the dark arts than any kind of sport. Though he does join and excel at the dueling club.

And the scandal of Peter and Noah dating from fourth year on would be massive, people can barely wrap their heads around it. But they’re happy and they’re just doing their own thing. And they don’t pay attention to anyone else but what they think and what Chris thinks of them.

<3 <3 it’s honestly an adorable image. The twins are very active when dad’s curled up around them, knowing just where to kick so Peter’s wakes up by a foot to the face. Though he doesn’t mind and just nudges back gently, letting out a low grumbling noise or whine that he knows the babies can hear in utero. As for how quickly, it depends on whether or not they smelled it before. Jackson, Ben, or Scott wouldn’t pick up on it. They weren’t wolves around pregnancies before. Malia and Derek catch on quickly though. They start noticing the scent change at around 5-6 weeks and hear the little heartbeats of the new family members.

Malia is moderately excited, she’s a little worried about her dad and how he will handle pregnancy at his age. (Although he’s like 35 when he gets pregnant, that counts as a geriatric pregnancy, dad... I’m worried.)

Stiles just flips between the two of extreme worry where he read up on pre-eclampsia and other pregnancy complications and birth complications and omg what if that happens. But he’s also so so excited because omg he’s finally gonna be an older brother!!

(He knows he’s Ben’s older brother, and he adores the tyke, but it’s different when you have a pregnancy close instead of a five-year-old sibling from one day to another.)

Jackson is pouty and a bit grumpy. He feels like he’s losing baby status in the family more and more and he doesn’t know how to deal. (Ben was a bit difficult to get used to for him but Chris handled it well by setting time aside for his baby Jackson. It helped. But now he’s a teen and there’s going to be two more babies and he’s- he doesn’t know how to feel. When Chris breaks the news he wants to have another baby he’s even more torn but he does come around, deciding that he will always be the baby of the family, even when he’s not.

It’s a good compromise. And the three parents set some time for each of their kids so everyone gets attention.

Allison handles it the best out of the teens, she’s very excited for all of them and immediately to volunteers helping with decorating the new nursery. She paints a few awesome looking murals of Winnie the Pooh or Bambi or some other cutesy Disney animals (Or maybe even a space/star wars or a fairy tale ala Fables theme?) and just goes all out. She also convinces Malia to quilt a blanket for the new baby and helps her knit a few cute hats. She’s just extremely excited and happy.

Ben is very happy too, he’s finally not the youngest anymore and he’s happy to be an older brother. He also finds it fascinating to learn how pregnancy works and how those babies got in there in the first place. They let him tell them how it works and explain some basic details, sperm, egg, you need both to have a baby and the baby grows in pops and papa’s belly. But they leave out any details that Ben doesn’t figure out or doesn’t ask about to keep it more age-appropriate for him.

Though Ben’s smart and he figures out a lot on his own. Noah and Peter are honestly impressed by Ben’s deductive skills. They knew Jackson and Stiles had them, but they hadn’t expected Ben to show them too. He’s a quiet observer.

Malia definitely inherited Peter’s dancing skills, I like to think Jackson did as well. Those three are the best dancers in the family. They just move with natural ease.

He’s also pretty good at jump style once he lets himself go and just turns his mind off. but the rhythmic jumping just feels natural to him. He also likes to slow dance since he can just bury his face in Noah’s shoulder or nuzzle Peter’s cheek and just forget about everything else.

Also, I like to think they all love to sing. Chris’s voice is best suited for country I feel like. Noah’s more for singer-songwriter. And Peter just loves singing pop songs and he knows how to hit some high notes.

And now I am going to bed because It’s almost three am XD And I need some sleeps. Thankfully I have the day off this sunday.
