folio society is so expensive but it's honestly less stressful purchasing from them directly than otherwise hunting online for an exact edition of a book in good condition
#personal#i dont want to own many books. most books in fact. i would rather not own. but my faves?!?!?!?! i want them NICE#plus when a family member is like 'what gift do you want' i can literally send them the exact link instead of doing a bunch of research#and giving a detailed list of reqs#like i want piranesi so badddd but i want#1) a clean hardcover without a stamp/logo (womens prize or botm etc) AND#2) an edition with the extra chapter (waterstones or barnes and noble)#BUT the barnes and noble exclusive extra chapter HB has an unremovable stamp. so thats out of the question#so the only version left is the waterstones exlusive w extra chapter. but all the resales of those online are signed#and therefore more expensive#and i dont want a signed copy anyway. ugggghhhhh!!!!#and even those are compromises based on what exists bc i prefer when HB covers are printed onto the book itself rather than the dust jacket#and piranesi HB afaik is only being sold w dust jacket (tho to be fair the piranesi HB art direction is beautiful)#folio made a version of JS&MN which i havent read yet and therefore wouldn't buy a folio version of (yet)#but i'm wondering if they'd do a piranesi version in like 6 years for a 10 year anniversary or smth. since they've printed clarke before#would it even be worth waiting for? just the possibility? and then u have the issue of the movie coming out in the next idk ~2-5 years ish#and god i want the film to be beautiful. but idk if i want a Film Cover Book#the balance between Waiting for the best possible version and getting it now so i dont have to deal with wanting it anymore!!!!#still on the hunt for *** ************ ** ******* ******* and *** ********* too

Smartphone cameras are NOT getting worse. (See below for phone photography tips)
I've now seen 3 pro photographers reviewing the iPhone 16 and complaining the cameras are "worse" and blaming Apple for not including revolutionary new camera technology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I suppose this is partly Apple's fault. Their marketing and hype machine always goes overboard. But also, that's just how marketing works. Samsung has a "200 megapixel" sensor and Sony has a "Zeiss" lens. And I think it is unrealistic to expect smartphone companies to say "This product has entered the iterative phase and each new model will only be marginally improved over the last one."
Smartphones (from any brand) have become an appliance. You don't buy a new model of microwave every year. And you don't expect every new model of microwave to have new revolutionary technology. And that is pretty much the expectation you should have with most computer hardware from here on out.
And in some ways, that is a good thing. That means the design of the phone has pretty much been perfected and it will last you a long time if you take care of it. You will not be left behind and your phone will be able to handle any new software for most of its lifespan.
So, is Apple getting lazy or is there a reason their hardware is stagnating?
It seems that neither money nor marketing can change the laws of physics.
They cannot make transistors much smaller. Phones and computers are about as fast as current hardware designs can make them (unless there is a shocking scientific breakthrough). From here on out, heavy compute tasks that are beyond your phone or computer will be done in the cloud on giant computer clusters. Thankfully computers and phones seem to be plenty fast for the majority of tasks we ask of them.
I remember Katrina telling me her new computer didn't seem any faster. And I explained the computing tasks she does regularly were not really affected by the increased power and speed of her new computer. If something took 0.1 seconds before and now it takes 0.05 seconds, that is twice as fast. An increase in speed that looks fantastic in advertisements. But it is hard for our brains to perceive. She just didn't do anything on her computer that took it long enough for her to notice. But having a faster and more powerful computer/phone will increase its lifespan and resale value, so it is still prudent to get the best things you can afford at time of purchase.
And I'm afraid smartphone cameras are hitting their own hardware limitations. They can't make the sensors much larger to get better depth of field and low light performance. And cramming in more megapixels doesn't actually add much more detail, if any.
It's physics.
Again.
You cannot get any more performance out of a small plastic lens. Why do you think pro photographers haul around 10 pound lenses still?
Tumblr media
There is a formula for detail that never seems to be explained in any camera marketing.
Here is the simplified version...
Detail = Sensor x Lens
Let's say 1 is perfection. You have a sensor that performs at 0.5 and a lens that performs at 0.2.
The total detail will be 0.1.
But in the new model you increase the performance of the sensor to 0.8. WOW! That's so close to 1!
The total detail will be... 0.16.
Now let's imagine we've discovered a magic, physics-defying tiny plastic lens that performs at 0.8 as well.
The total detail jumps to 0.64!
But we all get sucked into a wormhole because we violated the laws of the universe.
Even if you were to design a near perfect (perfect is impossible) sensor that scores 0.99.
Without that magic plastic lens... 0.198
This is why I put Samsung's "200 megapixel" sensors in quotes. Because when paired with the same tiny plastic lens, there isn't much improvement. And that's why a 12 megapixel DSLR from 10 years ago with a giant honking lens can still capture more detail.
Most of the quality from smartphone cameras comes from the computational software processing. Phones actually take many photos at once and combine them to get you a decent image.
Tumblr media
While that is still improving a little bit each generation, those improvements are stagnating as well. Until image processing can do a better job of inventing more detail realistically, smartphones are going to have to obey the laws of physics.
So... why are photographers saying the iPhone cameras are worse?
First, the ultra wide angle lens looks softer in low light.
And if you zoom between 1x and 5x, the images look less detailed.
But neither of those things make the cameras *worse*. In fact, the cameras are better for the most part. It's just that Apple decided to compromise on one aspect to improve another. Probably due to market research telling them most people prioritize certain things over others when taking photos.
They increased the resolution of the ultra wide angle sensor to match the detail of the main sensor, but that seems to have lowered the low light performance of the ultra wide. So in good light, you will see an improvement in sharpness. But they could not increase the sensor size to compensate and smaller pixels can have trouble with dim conditions. They probably discovered that people mostly use that lens in good light and they would appreciate the bump in detail more.
But pro photographers often photograph in more challenging lighting conditions because you can capture a more artistic shot. I don't think I could have gotten this shot on a smartphone.
Tumblr media
But photo normies are just taking pics of their kids doing weird kid shit.
Tumblr media
They aren't really trying to push the limits of their ultra wide angle lenses.
And they increased the zoom of the telephoto lens to 5x from 3x because most people never used the 3x. So images at 5x look great now, but unfortunately if you use anything between 1x and 5x, your image will be *digitally* zoomed. Which is never as good as optical zoom. They basically crop the photo, zoom in, and add sharpening.
So they prioritized people having longer reach and more zoom at the expense of that middle zoom range. Every camera system makes tradeoffs and compromises.
And I hate that I always feel like I am defending Apple, because they do have misleading and dishonest marketing regarding a lot of aspects of their tech. But hating on Apple gets more clicks so content creators also make misleading and dishonest claims.
And so we are just surrounded in a circle of hyperbole from all sides.
Now, if you know these limitations, you can change your approach to photographing stuff to keep them from being an issue. You can reap the benefits without dealing with the new compromises.
Here are some tips to help owners of the new iPhone, but also everyone else too.
Smartphone Photography Tips
Whenever possible, try to use the main 1x camera at only 1x zoom. This has the largest sensor with the most detail and works best in the lowest light. Only use the ultra wide or telephoto if you cannot get the photo otherwise. If you aren't sure you have enough light for ultra wide, take the photo, and then as a safety, take two photos with the main camera side by side and stitch them later with a pano app.
"Zoom with your feet" and don't use "in-between" zooms. Let's say your lenses do 0.5x, 1x, and 5x zoom. Even though you have the option to use other zooms, like 2x or 3x, that is going to compromise your picture quality. It is essentially going to crop your photo and enlarge it, which causes a loss of detail. If fact, if you use 4.5x instead of 5x, your picture will probably look like trash. You are always going to get better results if you can move closer or step back so that you are using the native focal length of your chosen lens. For example, let's say you are taking a photo and you judge the best framing to be at 4x. But you still have 10 feet of space behind you. If you back up and then zoom in to 5x, the phone will switch to that lens and you will get a much clearer picture.
Rule of thumb...
1 to 3x... try to move closer.
4 to 5x... try to move back.
If you hit a wall and end up at 4.5x, you might see if you have a panorama mode and try that instead. Switch to your 5x and do the pano. Or you can take two photos and then stitch them together with software later on. (Stitching panos with an app later will give better quality than pano mode, especially in low light.)
Low light needs stability. Get some sort of stabilizing device for low light photos. Either a phone case that lets you stand up the phone on its own or a mini tripod.
This thing folds to the size of a credit card.
Tumblr media
Your phone will detect when it is stable and not being handheld. It will then automatically extend its shutter speed allowing it to drink in more light and give you a better picture.
Tripods are photography magic and will improve your low light photos quite a bit. Motion blur of moving subjects can still be an issue, but photos of a cityscape or landscape will look great.
For selfies, shoot a little bit wide and then crop in. This goes a little contrary to my earlier advice saying cropping lowers detail, but this is specifically for shooting a face. The 0.5x and 1x lenses on smartphone cameras are fairly wide angle. This can cause unflattering proportions with human faces. Wide angle lenses exaggerate distance. Near things look very near and far things look very far. To a wide angle lens, the tip of your nose looks like it is super close but your ears seem like they are a mile away. And that's why you may look a bit "alien" in your selfies.
People's natural instinct is to "fill the frame" with a face. The outer edges of a wide angle lens are more distorted than the very center. So try to keep faces away from the edges of the frame.
And one other trick you can do for selfies and pictures of faces is step back a few feet. Sometimes this is hard, especially with selfies, as your arm is only so long... but if you can take your face photos from just a little bit farther back, you will almost entirely eliminate unflattering distortion. In some cases, just stretching out your arm as far as it will go is enough.
Then you just crop the image with the framing you originally wanted, and your facial proportions will look great.
An example...
Tumblr media
Here the distortion is bad because I am not in the center and the lens is too close to my face. The lens thinks my nose is really close and my ears are in Canada.
Tumblr media
But when the lens is farther back the edge distortion is less prevalent and my nose and ears (relative to the lens) seem roughly the same distance away. So my proportions look great, but I don't quite have the framing I want.
But with a little cropping...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For social media there is still plenty of resolution to crop in. Cropping isn't bad, it's just always better to use it as a last resort or in a special circumstance like this. I get roughly the same framing as in my wide angle shot, but I don't look like I'm behind a door's peephole trying to sell you the Good News.
I wish they made a "mini" selfie stick that only extended a foot or so. With the main camera that is usually all people need to undo any wide angle issues. I have one of those mini tripods and that works well, but there is no activation button so I have to do a timer. Mirrors work great to help you get some selfie distance.
In any case, all cameras have limitations and compromises. Clickbait titles saying something is WORSE THAN THE OLD ONE are frustrating and wrong.
And people upgrading phones every year are silly. All current name brand smartphones have promised at least 5 years of software updates. I think Google and Samsung are offering 7 years on some models. And Apple has always just let you use your phone until it literally will not work with new software. Which has worked out to 8 years in some cases (with a battery swap).
Phones are now appliances. For now, hardware will improve 10 to 15% from generation to generation until physics breaks. So if you want a 50% improvement, wait 5 years and you'll think your new phone is awesome. If you upgrade every year, it is going to be difficult to see the change.
I hope to be starting a little course on smartphone photography in the near future. All modern phones are capable of taking amazing pictures. And as long as you understand their limitations you can mitigate or avoid them. And that is what I plan to teach.

°💸⋆.ೃ🍾࿔*:・Your 2H Sign = How To Make More $$$ 💳⋆.ೃ💰࿔*:・
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your 2nd house is the part of your chart can show you the best side hustle ideas to increase your income. Look at the sign on your 2nd House cusp, its ruling planet, and any planets sitting there. They symbolize out how you monetize.
The 2nd House is the House of Possessions: movable assets, cash flow, food, tools, anything you can trade. The sign on the cusp sets up your style of 'acquisition' (Taurus = slow‑build goods, Scorpio = high‑risk high‑reward holdings), while the ruler’s dignity and aspects describe reliability, or lack thereof, of income.

Coup de foudre Choi Seunghyun x F!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Big bang april challenge - April 19th
summary: struggling to get tickets happens to the best of us. risking your life and getting saved by your former best friend? That's less likely. But the odds are never zero.
warnings: none. created a kpop group for plot's sake
a/n: im tired?! sorry if this is bad. thank you again to @ldydeath and @wcnderlnds for this challenge.
Tumblr media
The 'Coup de Foudre' exists.
It means lightning strike. Love at first sight. It is not a mere coincidence. Chemical reactions, hormones, the heart accelerates, the world narrows to just one person.
And we believe it.
VIVARA's debut album was called Coup de Foudre. They took the word from French and altered its meaning. Although they debuted in the early 2000's, they truly gained popularity with their breakout hits such as Starlight Rush and Eclipsed Heart.
What is amusing is that YG Entertainment manages their account too.
Just like BigBang. Your former best friend's group.
You pressed your bag against your back and ran through the pitch-black night.
You don’t believe in love at first sight, and that’s why you adore their band. Their first album had hit all the right spots. When nobody knew them, you were there, singing Break or streak until there was no more air in your lungs and your parents threatened to kick you out (they didn't).
Or in highschool, when you got rejected, and they released Reverie. Only real fans got the secret message. It was about dreaming but spoke of nightmares.
Or Eleven pretty clouds. When you adopted your first dog, Cinnamon - a tiny bark machine with too much energy. It felt like sunshine and cotton candy.
Or, even later. When your childhood best friend suddenly ghosted you. And they released Limbs. That song was controversial. It was exactly what you needed to get him out of your system.
So when they announced a concert in Seoul, you were thrilled. As a teenager, your parents were intransigent. Their kid was not going to a concert. (They also didn't want to pay). As an adult, however, you had the means and the absolute will to.
The problem is that despite being a loyal fan when they had no one, no one asks for your opinion when their band skyrockets, and you’re left scrambling for a concert ticket that seems impossible to get.
Loyalty doesn’t pay off.
Yet, on Tuesday, even though you had to work the next day, you opened your laptop at midnight. The sales would begin at three o’clock, but the website was quickly overloaded, like before a big sale - you had to camp out to secure tickets.
On coffee and tea, you endured until three, battling sleep. You tried studying, reading on your phone - nothing worked.
At 2:59 a.m., your bank card details were entered. At 3:01:37 a.m., the tickets were gone.
All because you mistook a 0 for an O in the card details.
Shame and stubbornness coexisted within you. They pushed you to search further, no matter what you had to go through. You were getting a ticket. Wherever. Resale sites. Groups. Ads. The newspaper.
NOTHING. NOWHERE.
Was this what your loyalty to the band was worth? You were fed up. So, you posted an ad on a site with no hope, and a message appeared.
“October 17th, under Hangang Bridge. $500. 11 p.m.”
The fact that it was in dollars was suspicious, but you printed the tickets at a shady exchange agent who charged way more than their worth in wons.
It felt like you were walking to your death, but you secretly hid your dog in your backpack. Just in case. She was a small harmless thing, but she barked so loudly it could shatter eardrums.
And so you ran through the pitch-black night. Under the bridge. Where broken bottles lie. Out of breath, you paused by a streetlamp, feeling your dog stir, and resumed running.
You checked your watch. 10:54 p.m. The bridge was in front of you. You were on time. You descended into the sand and took shelter in the shadow, waiting with clenched hands.
A masked man arrived after a few minutes.
“Money first.”
You frowned. “At the same time.”
“MONEY FIRST!”
You took your bag off your back and muttered, “OK, OK.” Then you opened it.
“Please, no noise, Cinnamon.”
She stuck out her tongue, panting with joy. You reached into the bag, pulling out the bundles. But before extending your hand, you hesitated.
“I still prefer to exchange at the same time…”
The man suddenly slammed you against the wall, and your bag fell, rolling near the edge.
“LET GO OF ME!”
“WHERE’S THE MONEY?”
“IN MY BAG! FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, LET GO-”
Cinnamon suddenly leaped out, barking loudly.
“Where’s this damn dog from-!”
He tried to kick her, but one strike sent him crashing onto the asphalt. Another one to the ground. A third came from the foot straight into his stomach. The man groaned.
It was the moment Cinnamon bit his wrist while barking. The man, nearly crying, struggled to get up, stumbling away headfirst.
Your savior was breathing heavily.
“Damn it, if it wasn’t for Cinnamon’s barking, you’d be dead!”
Holding your chest, you collapsed. Seunghyun dropped down behind you. “Are you okay?”
He leaned close to your face, Cinnamon curled in your arms. You nodded, sniffling. “I was so scared.”
Then all the emotions resurfaced.
“T.O.P? What are you doing here?”
He made a sort of pout. “It sounds weird coming from you.”
You couldn't hear him. The emotions were still so strong. Your heart was racing. You cupped your face in your hands. “How did you find me?”
His mask was up. He pulled it down and got closer to you.
“I was passing by and recognized Cinnamon’s barking. I thought it was an illusion. I haven't heard her in forever.”
He stood up and dusted off his pants, then extended his hand to you.
“What was that man doing?”
“He wanted my money for a VIVARA ticket,” you said softly.
"That band you used to force me to listen to?"
You chuckled, laughing at the memory. "Acting like you disliked it. I saw you swaying your head, once."
You didn't need to look to know he was smiling. "Their lyrics made no sense. They put random words together."
Tapping his shoulder, you checked Cinnamon was still strutting next to you. "You're acting like saying Fantastic baby on repeat makes sense," you rolled your eyes.
"Pffft. You saw this?"
That's where you stopped walking, heat burning your cheeks. "It's... it was a hit. Everyone saw it. That's it."
"Your ears are red, cheonsa. Don't lie to me."
Ugh! This man. "Well, you were gone, and I needed to check you were alive. That is all."
He faltered. "About that-"
You interrupted him. "No I'm good. I don't care. It's fine. I'm fine." But your voice was shaking. "Only thing saddening me right now is that I will never get to see VIVARA live."
"You can."
He stopped walking. You halted too, surprised. "Why did you stop? And can what?"
"A ticket. I can get one for you. Or as many tickets as you want."
The cold air from the river made you realize that rain was about to fall. "What?"
You rubbed your cold arm to calm the goosebumps. Seunghyun started walking again and took off his long black jacket, draping it over your shoulders.
“Jiyong know the main girl. They wanted to collaborate. It’s super easy for me to get you a ticket.”
You shook your head, still shocked. But you couldn't. That was unfair. And you were acting as if Seunghyun hadn't disappeared from your life for years, gotten in a popular boys band, released at least three hit songs.
“No, I can’t ask you for that. At least I’ll pay you back-”
He stopped you again, his hands on your shoulders.
“Hey, cheonsa, what are we? For life, for death, you remember?”
You chuckled weakly, avoiding his gaze.
“That was when we were kids. Should I remind you who broke the promise?”
His fingers tightened around your shoulder, but he didn’t answer. He took two steps back, and you continued walking through the dark night.
The first raindrops fell.
“Should I pass you the ticket tomorrow?”
"I said no."
"And I don't care. Just tell me if I should come by Donggyo tomorrow or meet you somewhere."
Your eyes darkened.
“I moved out.”
The rain intensified. You started to feel cold and pulled his jacket tighter around your shoulders. “You’re going to catch a cold," you told him.
He shook his head.
“No.”
But you saw him shiver.
“Seunghyun, you’re still a terrible liar.”
He laughed softly, stopping once again in the middle of the path, near the river.
“Will you come to one of our concerts? They miss you, too. You were friend with Jiyong. It's not fair to him.”
You looked at him, eyes shadowed by what seemed like tears but was actually rain. A flash of lightning split the sky.
You smiled. You both acted like this was normal, but you knew you could not be friends again. It was fun to pretend.
“If the line is as long as for VIVARA…”
Shaking his head, he fumbled for his phone in his pocket.
“One call, that’s enough. I’ll give you the ticket you want.”
Cinnamon was happily shaking her tail next to you.
"Just call me, cheonsa. I'll always answer."
You both looked at each other. You both knew it was a lie.
The air suddenly grew colder.
“That’s not fair.”
He laughed. “It’s the perks of being the best friend of a famous rapper. Life’s unfair.”
A bolt of lightning tore across the sky. Cinnamon flinched and jumped in your arms. Seunghyun observed her tenderly.
You both stopped walking.
You looked at him properly for the first time in so many years.
He was still as familiar as before.
But something unfamiliar settled in your chest as you stared at him, wet hair, droplets rolling down his chin, rosy lips half-smiling and tender eyes.
The distance was so vast.
We believe that Coup de Foudre happens between strangers.
Then why is your heart racing for the first time ever looking at your old best friend?
"I guess I'll send it by mail," he murmured, breaking the silence. "Still got the same address?"
You nodded, unable to look away, glued to his dark eyes. He came closer. Lifted his hand. Wiped a raindrop from your cheek. Infinitely gently wrapped his arms around your body. One second. Two seconds. Three seconds.
Then, he pulled away.
You sat alone in a sold-out stadium.
The lights dimmed. The crowd roared. VIVARA took the stage.
They sang Reverie.
In the back of your mind, you could hear his voice whispering: for life and for death.
But he wasn’t in the seat beside you.
He never was.
You learned from a friend the group tore apart. You imagined going to his apartment with a bass and snacks. Forcing him to watch you sing. Making him laugh. Forget.
You still have his jacket.
You still can’t listen to Limbs without crying.
Cinnamon still sleeps next to you every night.
The Coup de Foudre exists.
It’s not always beautiful.
Sometimes, it strikes only one person.
And it burns.
Forever.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES FOR WHEN I FEEL STUCK OR BORED. most people, myself included, are prone to writer's block, and while this can be an extremely frustrating process to get to, i try to use this as an opportunity to approach it in a fun way. i thought i'd share some of my favourite activities that might be of use to other people.
create a movie library. if your muse is someone who likes movies, make a list of their favourites on letterboxd or imdb, or even serializd for those that prefer tv. you can make lists for ones they've seen and enjoyed or haven't seen but would like. i use letterboxd for this quite a bit and sometimes even add some notes within my lists detailing my muse's thoughts and reviews of the movies.
make a sideblog. i know that many people do this already, but aesthetic sideblog for your character can be extremely helpful and fun to maintain. you can build these however you like! i like to use mine to post photos that my muse would like, faceclaim content, playlists and songs, ships/dynamics inspo, headcanons, silly text posts, and a variety of other things. if you're unsure where to look for content you can post on your sideblogs, @museinspo has a variety of things for many types of characters and is a really helpful place to start. they have a great detailed tagging system to make it easier to find content best suited to your muse. some tags that you can also look through could be #character inspo, #ship inspo, and #muse inspo.
play a barbie dress up game. most people who know me can attest to how much i love this — building a closet for my characters' style. every muse is different, so this can be a fun exploration activity. pinterest is a frequently used resource, but what i like to do most often is browse resale websites like depop or poshmark because i like the variety of styles and the fact that you can find some things you might not see in every store! i have many muses who like to wear silly graphic t-shirts, handmade, vintage, and eclectic styles, so this tends to be the best place to search. you can also do this with any website that sells styles you like for your muse. i like to think of this as a dress up barbie game since that helps me maintain the fun aspect of it all.
build and decorate a barbie dreamhouse. on the topic of barbies, you can do the same activity with furniture, homewares, trinkets, toys, art and decor. build your muse their barbie dreamhouse, fill it with things they would collect and feel at home with. browse furniture websites. ikea, crate and barrel, pottery barn, anthropologie, and west elm are all great places to look for ideas. if you really want to get into it, architectural design (i particularly like this article listing recommendations for furniture retailers) and dezeen (has the added bonus of being able to search for things based on location, if you're looking for example of interior design specific to your muse's city of residence) have extensive articles on both exterior and interior design. etsy is also a great place to look for antiques, vintage style, and more eclectic items.
feed them. if your muse is a foodie or likes to cook, come up with a menu for them. read food blogs and restaurant menus, think of what they'd like if they went out for dinner or what they'd cook at home. i will sometimes make up an imaginary dinner party for muses when its applicable and plan out what they'd like to serve or be served in that situation. food can be a great way to get to know your muse because it can tell you so much about their personal tastes, their current lifestyle, and their cultural background. while food is something that is prevalent in everyone's life, different people will have different approaches to it. this can be especially fun if you look at the menus for restaurants and shops local to your muse's area! read about what's popular in their neighborhood, take the specifics of that culture into consideration.
consider history. think about the time and place in which your character was born and raised in. how would things like pop culture, trends, media, neighborhood, and society affect them? this will differ with every character's upbringing and background, so take all that into consideration as you explore resources. for example, say that your muse is inspired by something like punk subcultures in the 1990s. what music, movies, and clothing styles would have been prevalent at the time? try looking into the history of the underground scene, you can even look further back than that particular decade to understand its roots and how the subculture go to that present moment. how would current events of the time affect what's being put out there and how would the changes within the world cause your character to evolve in their mindset or interests?
study movement. often times we study physicality in terms of what the character looks like as a static image (their hair colour, face shape, clothing, etc) and less about what it looks like when they look like when they are in movement. consider things like their gait, posture, facial expressions, or even specific tics. how do they move when they're on the go and in a rush, compared to when they're confined to a room? how do they position themselves in a bed or on a couch? what does their face tell you about them when they speak? what does it not tell you? a lot of behavior and emotion is not limited to dialogue, but rather how a person composes themselves through body language. you can learn so much about someone by being observant of them even without dialogue. it can be helpful to watch videos or movies and study an actor's movements with all this in mind. i often find myself watching videos with the sound off, just to pay closer attention to body language and try to understand what they are saying without verbal communication.
feel free to reblog if any of this is helpful to you. i maintain the belief that roleplay should always be fun and the best way for me to do that is to treat it like a barbie game. remember that not all character development revolves solely around written words, but rather the environment and details you put into them.

Details of the Two Pirate Kings preorder goal charm I did for @oppokezine (resales open rn!!!)
The concept was utilising the nostalgic pokemon red/blue GB game cartridges as the frame and having Roger and Luffy reflect each other
I felt Koraidon was a very fitting Pokémon for The King of Pirates 🔥

Sly plans
Tumblr media
Pairing - Johhny Suh x reader, Jeong Jaehyun x reader, Reader x past few men.
Trigger warning - slight dub-con, mentions of rape and assaults, the reader has fucked up bad, everyone is is fucked up.
A/N - As Yangyang once told - "here because of a dream." I hope you guys don't judge in this household
Y/N was ecstatic. Her plan was working flawlessly, and this time, she was sure she’d have enough money to leave the country for good. She had managed to get her hands on two big shots simultaneously, one, a powerful music producer at a major label, and the other, the wealthy owner of a prestigious modeling agency. Hardly related, but equally useful.
She had been playing this game since she was twenty. Y/N wanted a luxurious life, and she knew she wouldn’t get it through the usual means. Some people were just born unlucky, stuck in mediocrity but she refused to be one of them. She was going to be rich, no matter what it took.
Her method was simple. She seduced rich men. She knew exactly what they wanted, and she loved her own talent for manipulation. For those who craved innocence, she became the picture of purity. For those who desired a temptress, she played the perfect vixen. Some men she had strung along all the way to marriage, only to drain their bank accounts and disappear. So far, she had changed cities three times, always staying one step ahead.
Right now, she had enough to leave the country but not enough to live the kind of life she dreamed of. She had already bought a house in her dream country, but she needed money to sustain her lifestyle. Working a regular nine-to-five was never an option. No, she’d pretend to be rich, marry into wealth—preferably some senile old man with grown children and a non-functioning libido and live out her days in luxury. And now, she had her final targets. Jeong Jaehyun, the owner of a high-end modeling agency, and Johnny Suh, a famous music director at one of the country’s top labels. Both were perfect, wealthy, generous, and hopeless romantics.
Men were so predictable. They always started by claiming it was "just a fling," but before long, they were completely smitten, trying to impress her, spending lavishly on her. She played her role well, accepting only the most expensive gifts, especially those with resale value.
She already had access to Jaehyun’s bank account. Soon, she’d empty it. That alone was enough to last her a year. As for Johnny, she’d play the helpless, struggling act a little longer—maybe shed a few tears—and he’d hand her whatever she wanted. He had already given her a luxury sports car just because she once complained about her feet hurting from walking. She’d sell it within six months, and then, Y/N would cease to exist. A new name, a new identity. She had planned everything down to the last detail.
"Pathetic men," she chuckled to herself as she tapped out a reply to Jaehyun’s message.
He wanted to take her to dinner at his home. Perfect. That meant she’d have the chance to steal something valuable from him, too.
It had been her habit since childhood—though she never called it stealing. She called it taking what she liked. If something caught her eye, it was meant to be hers. And lately, she had been taking plenty—luxury watches, rare perfumes, designer jewelry. Just little things that men like Jaehyun and Johnny wouldn’t even notice were missing. She walked to her wardrobe, running her fingers over her collection of expensive dresses. Finally, she picked the one she knew Jaehyun would love. Time to make some money. She giggled as she slipped it on.
Y/N arrived dressed to the nines. Jaehyun, on the other hand, was in his usual "casual" attire which, for him, meant a crisp button-up and tailored dress pants. She had never seen this man in anything remotely frumpy. Did he even own a pair of pajamas? Or did he sleep in dress pants too? She suppressed a smirk as an image of his bare body, lying next to her, flashed in her mind.
"Jaehyunnie," she greeted sweetly, offering him a soft smile as she stepped forward, pressing herself against him—just the way he liked it.
He placed a gentle kiss against her hair before tilting her chin up to kiss her lips. "Ah, Y/N," he murmured, his voice dripping with affection. "How are you, my love? I have a surprise for you."
Her eyes gleamed with interest. "A surprise? Is that why you called me on such short notice?"
"Yes," he smirked. "You'll love it."
He took her hand and led her toward his bedroom. She couldn't help but let out a sly smile, already thinking ahead. Straight to bed? This man is a goner. But her smile faltered the second they stepped inside. There, lounging comfortably against the headboard as if he owned the place, was Johnny Suh. He was casually scrolling through his phone, completely at ease.
Her breath hitched. No. No, no, no.
Panic surged through her veins. Before she could move, Jaehyun tightened his grip on her arm. She flinched. She had always been in control. Always a step ahead. But now, for the first time, she felt something foreign.
"What’s wrong, darling?" Jaehyun's voice was soft, but there was something sinister lurking beneath. "Don’t you like your gift?"
"What... what do you mean?" she stammered, her throat suddenly dry. For the first time in her life, she had no script to follow. No way out. A deep, smooth voice came from the bed.
"I think you know exactly what he means, Mrs. Y/N," Johnny said, finally looking up from his phone.
Her stomach dropped.
"I—I don’t know what you’re talking about," she tried, her voice wavering as she instinctively pulled at her arm. But Jaehyun’s grip only tightened. He leaned in, his breath warm against her ear.
"Don’t you?" he whispered.
Then he pulled back slightly, his gaze sharp and unyielding.
"Then let us explain it to you, you little slut."
Y/N's heart pounded in her chest. The room felt suffocating, the air thick with tension. Her mind raced for an escape, an excuse, anything, but for the first time, she was caught off guard. Jaehyun still held her wrist, his grip firm but not bruising yet. His lips curled into a smirk, but there was no amusement in his eyes.
Johnny, still lounging on the bed, finally put his phone down. He stretched lazily, as if he had all the time in the world. "You look surprised, sweetheart," he said, tilting his head. "That’s funny. Because we aren’t."
Y/N swallowed hard, forcing herself to keep her breathing steady. "I don’t understand what’s going on," she said, her voice softer than usual. Play innocent. That always works.
Jaehyun’s eyes darkened. He chuckled lowly, shaking his head. "You’re good. I’ll give you that. But we’re better."
Johnny leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "You think you were being careful, huh? Making sure neither of us knew about the other?" He clicked his tongue. "Cute. But you slipped up, baby."
Y/N clenched her jaw, her mind scrambling. How? She had been so careful. Separate phones. Separate accounts. Separate schedules. How did they find out?
Jaehyun finally let go of her wrist, stepping back just slightly. It didn’t feel like mercy—it felt like he wanted to watch her squirm.
"You see," he continued, crossing his arms, "it’s one thing to play around. We’re not saints, we know how the game works." He tilted his head. "But the moment you started stealing? That’s when you really fucked up."
Y/N’s pulse spiked.
Johnny hummed, tapping his fingers against his knee. "Taking a few gifts? Fine. Expensive dinners? Sure. But hacking into Jaehyun’s bank account?" He whistled lowly. "That’s a bold move."
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat. They know.
"Don’t bother lying," Jaehyun said smoothly, taking a step closer. "We have proof.
Johnny smirked. "Screenshots. Transfers. Messages. And," he dragged out the word, "we even had a little chat with some friends in your last city."
Y/N felt like the ground was crumbling beneath her feet.
Jaehyun ran a finger down her arm, almost affectionate. "You were planning to disappear, weren’t you?" His voice dropped lower. "Drain my account. Sell the car Johnny gave you. Slip away before we even realized."
She forced herself to meet his gaze, her expression carefully blank. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Johnny laughed. "God, you don’t quit, do you?"
Jaehyun’s smile widened. "That’s okay, princess. We have all night to make you talk."
Y/N’s stomach twisted. She had always been in control. Always the one pulling the strings. But this time? She was the one trapped.
Y/N’s mind spun as Jaehyun dragged her onto the bed, his grip firm against her waist. She struggled instinctively, but it was useless. She wasn’t in control anymore. Johnny sauntered toward her, hands in his pockets, his smirk growing. "You really wanna know how we figured you out, sweetheart?" He tilted his head. "Alright, let’s start from the beginning."
Jaehyun let out a low chuckle from behind her, his breath warm against her ear. "You thought you were so careful," he murmured. "Separate lives. Separate lies. But you forgot one thing that powerful men talk."
Y/N’s stomach dropped.
Johnny leaned jn and said, "See, Jaehyun and I? We’ve known each other for years. Different industries, same circles. It wasn’t even hard to connect the dots." He smirked. "You really thought you were the first girl to try this?"
She clenched her jaw. "You’re lying."
Jaehyun laughed, his grip tightening slightly. "Am I?" He leaned down, lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "Then why do we have proof?"
Y/N’s breath hitched.
Johnny pulled out his phone and, with a few swipes, turned the screen toward her. "Recognize this?"
Her blood ran cold. It was a bank statement, one of the accounts she had accessed.
"And this?" Another swipe. A text message exchange between her and a man from her last city, planning her next move. Jaehyun’s fingers traced slow, lazy circles against her hip, as if mocking her. "You were so focused on playing us, you didn’t realize we were playing you."
She tried to twist out of his grasp, but he only chuckled, pulling her back effortlessly. Johnny sighed dramatically. "And here I thought you actually liked me, Y/N." He pouted mockingly. "Turns out you just liked my money."
Y/N’s mouth was dry. This can’t be happening.
Jaehyun leaned in again, voice dangerously soft. "So, tell me, princess—what should we do with you?"
Y/N’s pulse pounded in her ears as she tried to step back, but Jaehyun’s grip on her waist tightened, pulling her against him. Panic surged through her veins.
“How do you even know each other?” she stammered, eyes darting between them. “And how—how can you know about… me?”
That question only earned a low chuckle from both men. Johnny leaned against the bedpost, arms crossed, his smirk sharp. “Oh, the girl really thought she was so smart when she’s so fucking messy.” He clicked his tongue. “Sweetheart, your life is messier than your messy blowjobs.”
Jaehyun laughed, his chest vibrating against her back. “That’s a good one.”
Y/N’s breath hitched as Johnny stood from the bed, taking slow, deliberate steps toward her. Instinctively, she tried to back away, but Jaehyun caught her by the waist and spun her around, forcing her onto the mattress.
“Hey,” he murmured, brushing her hair out of her face, his grip still firm. “You wanted to know, right?” He leaned in, voice dark and teasing. “So let’s begin.”
Y/N swallowed hard. Whatever was coming next, she knew it wouldn’t be good.
Y/N had never felt this small in her life. She had always believed she was the smartest in the room. She had to be. That’s how she survived, how she thrived. She wasn’t just a sly little thief—she was a mastermind. And yet, here she was, caught between two men who were supposed to be nothing more than stepping stones in her grand plan.
They can’t threaten me like this. Her mind raced for an escape, a way to turn this around. Yes, she had been careless, but they didn’t know everything. She could still outsmart them, twist the narrative, make them believe what she wanted them to believe. She had done it before—why should now be any different? But she was wrong.
So, so wrong.
Because she had underestimated one crucial thing that powerful men are powerful for a reason. And men like Jaehyun and Johnny didn’t just make money, they made things happen. Finding out about her? That was the easiest thing in the world for them.
And the worst part?
She wasn’t even as smart as she thought. She had been running, sure, but she hadn’t been hiding. Not really. She left no paper trail, thinking that was enough. She had been so focused on the idea of leaving the country that she never considered the loose ends she left behind—the whispers, the patterns, the people who remembered her. And now, all of those mistakes had followed her. Fallen right into the hands of Jaehyun and Johnny.
"Strip," Johnny said, his voice dripping with arrogance. It made Y/N's blood boil.
She crossed her arms, standing her ground. "No."
Johnny smirked. "Why? You seemed to obey just fine before. Don't you wanna fuck two men, babe?" His tone was almost affectionate, mocking.
"You can't do this to me," Y/N snapped. "This isn’t right. You can’t force me. Even if you claim I stole from you, sexual assault is a bigger crime than theft."
Jaehyun clicked his tongue, shaking his head. "Putting all your cards on the table at once? You still have a long way to go, Y/N."
Y/N glared at him. "You have no proof. You gave me those gifts. I didn’t hack your account—you told me the PIN code yourself. And—"
"And," Johnny cut her off, stepping closer, "you did it to six different men in three different cities. They might not have been as rich as us, but that poor schoolteacher? The one who sold his ancestral property? You drained his account and ran away."
Y/N's breath hitched. How did he know that? As if reading her mind, Jaehyun leaned in, his voice smooth and amused. "You're not as smart as you think." He tapped her forehead lightly, like a teacher scolding a child. "You thought doing it legally would make you safe, but sweetheart, that also leaves a paper trail. Did you forget?"
Y/N's stomach twisted. For the first time, real fear settled in. But Y/N didn’t back down. She lifted her chin, forcing confidence into her voice. "He gave it to me. We just had a bad breakup, but the money was mine."
Jaehyun let out a quiet chuckle, clearly amused. "Really?"
"Yes," she said, but her voice wavered. Shit. She hated how weak she felt right now. She was trapped in a penthouse in a skyscraper towering over the city. There was nowhere to run. The doors had automatic locks. Even if she managed to slip past them, where would she go?
"You know," Johnny's voice was almost casual, as if discussing the weather, "he didn’t deserve to die."
Y/N’s blood ran cold. Her breath caught in her throat as she turned to Johnny, staring at him in shock. He can’t know. He couldn’t.
Johnny smirked. "What’s wrong, darling? Forgotten something? Murder is a big crime."
Y/N squeezed her eyes shut. No. No, they can’t know.
At first, Y/N had only wanted money. Not love. Not attachments. Just financial freedom—the kind that let her walk away from anything, anyone. Being a mistress seemed like the simplest way. No real emotional connection, just a rich man’s affection in exchange for gifts, vacations, and power.
That’s how she found Mr. Nakamoto. A well-respected architect, middle-aged, wealthy, and most importantly—married. She had been careful. Played the role of the sweet, exciting young woman who stroked his ego and made him feel alive again. It worked. It always worked. Until he found out. He had been snooping through her things, checking her phone when she was in the shower. Maybe it was another man’s name, maybe it was the receipts for things she had already sold but something set him off. The man snapped.
"You think I don’t know what you are?" he had spat, grabbing her wrist with surprising strength for his age. "A leech. A thief."
Y/N had laughed—actually laughed. She was used to men getting possessive, used to them lashing out before inevitably giving in. But then he hit her. Not a slap, not a shove—a full-force strike across the face that sent her stumbling back into the glass coffee table. Then a kick , then another and another. She couldn't even gasp for air let alone crawl away. He said he'll kill her and she truly believed him for the moment.
She had barely managed to scramble up when she heard it—the wheezing. The sharp, labored gasps. Mr. Nakamoto had asthma. His hands clutched his chest, his eyes wide with panic. He reached into his pocket, but his movements were clumsy, desperate.
Y/N spotted the inhaler on the ground, just out of his reach. She picked it up and held it over her head. Nakamoto's breath rattled. He clawed at her arm, trying to grab it and begging. She could have given it to him. Could have saved him. Instead, she just stood there.
Watched.
When he collapsed, she screamed. Called the police in a frantic, devastated voice. Said his inhaler must have failed. She cried. She performed. And it worked. His wife was furious, of course. Suspected her. But the scandal of him having a mistress made the situation messy. Too much shame for the family, too much money involved. And money solved everything. A few bribes. A few carefully placed connections. The case was closed. She had gotten away with it. Or so she thought.
"Want to see something disturbing?"
Johnny's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned her head slowly, stomach twisting as he held up his phone.
A video.
Her breath caught in her throat.
On the screen, there she was. Standing over Nakamoto. Holding the inhaler. Watching.
Then another clip - her calmly, coldly draining the inhaler before the police arrived, making sure it was empty.
Then another - her finding the hidden security camera, thinking she had destroyed the footage.
She felt the blood drain from her face.
Jaehyun smirked, watching her reaction. "You really thought you got rid of everything, didn't you?"
"You... how did you—?" Her voice broke.
Johnny leaned in, voice mocking. "You're messy, babe. Really messy."
Her hands clenched into fists. No. No. She had planned everything. How the fuck did they have this?
"Who do you think designed the building?" Jaehyun mused, tilting his head. "You didn’t even think about where that footage was backed up, did you?"
Nakamoto was an architect. He had built places just like the one he died in. Places owned by people like Jaehyun. She felt sick.
"You know," Johnny said, watching her carefully, "we could have just called the police."
Jaehyun hummed in agreement. "But where's the fun in that?"
Y/N’s breath came fast, shallow. Her chest burned, her pulse thundering in her ears. She wasn’t stupid. Not anymore. Years ago, she might have panicked. Might have made the wrong move.
But now?
She knew when to fight and when to surrender. So, she took a slow, steady breath and did what she did best—adapted. Her fingers trailed to the zipper at the back of her dress, pulling it down in one smooth motion. The fabric slipped down her shoulders, pooled at her feet She stepped out of it, bare in the dim lighting. Her gaze flickered between Johnny and Jaehyun, searching for their reactions. Measuring their expressions.
She could still control this. She could still—
A low tsk cut through the silence. Johnny tilted his head, watching her with mock amusement.
"Hmm... honey," he drawled, crossing his arms. "Everything off."
Y/N stilled. Her nails dug into her palms, her body momentarily locking up. She could feel Jaehyun’s gaze on her, sharp and assessing. They weren’t fooled. They knew exactly what she was trying to do. And they weren’t letting her have the upper hand.
Swallowing hard, she forced a small, obedient smile and hooked her hand on her lacy thong and pulled it down. As the last piece of clothing hit the floor, she lifted her chin, masking her unease behind a carefully crafted expression. Johnny smirked. Jaehyun stepped closer, his eyes gleaming with something unreadable.
"Good," he murmured, brushing a knuckle over her cheek. Y/N didn’t flinch or react. She couldn’t. Not yet. She had given up control for now. But her mind was already spinning, calculating, waiting. Because no matter what she would find a way out......
"Huh," Jaehyun said casually, stretching his arms over his head. "I'm thirsty."
Then, he nudged her. "Go get me something to drink."
"Me too," Johnny added, lounging on the bed like this was the most normal situation in the world.
Y/N was stunned for a moment, frozen in place. Then, without a word, she turned and walked out of the bedroom toward the minibar. Her heart pounded violently against her ribs.
This was bad.
So, so bad.
She had played dangerous games before, but never like this. Never with men who were just as—no, more—dangerous than her. Usually, she had no shame in displaying her body. She knew what it looked like. Knew how to use it. But now? Now, she felt vulnerable, exposed and trapped.
Her fingers curled against the counter as she stared at the bottles of expensive liquor, her mind racing. She might die here.
Stabbed. Strangled. Beaten. Or worse - raped to death. And no one would ever know.
She swallowed hard, forcing her expression to remain neutral. She scanned the minibar. Was there something she could use? A weapon? A distraction? Her lips parted slightly in frustration.
Damn it.
If they had gone through so much trouble to trap her, they might have hidden cameras too. She was naked. Where the hell could she even hide anything?
Could she run? Run outside, screaming that she was about to be assaulted? No. It wouldn’t work. They had bigger proof against her. They could twist the story. The police wouldn’t believe her over them.
Her nails dug into the polished wood of the minibar. She had to stay quiet. She Had to play smart. She Had to find a way to distract them long enough to escape for good.
She had played many roles in her life—the innocent, the temptress, the victim. But this was different. This wasn’t just a game anymore. She was trapped. Johnny tilted his head, eyes roaming over her like a predator sizing up its prey. Jaehyun stood behind her, his presence looming, suffocating.
"Tell me something, sweetheart," Johnny said, stepping closer. "Did you really think you could play us?"
Y/N didn’t answer. She knew better than to speak without thinking.
Stay calm. Stay smart.
So, she did what she knew best—adapt. With a slow breath, she dipped between them, lowering her head as if she had already admitted defeat. Let them think they had won.
"I'm so uncomfortable," Johnny muttered, stretching his legs out on the bed. "Y/N, get rid of my shoes."
A flicker of resentment burned in her chest, but she swallowed it down. She dipped down in front of him, moving as seductively as possible, letting them see her body in just the right way. She had always been good at this. Men were easy. A soft, deliberate sigh left her lips as she slid Johnny’s shoes off, massaging his feet lightly, trailing her fingers over his ankles, his calves, teasing and distracting.
Jaehyun watched her closely, his expression unreadable. When she turned to him, kneeling at his feet, she placed a delicate hand on his knee, tilting her chin up to meet his gaze. His eyes weren’t mocking anymore. They were assessing. Almost… intrigued.
Good.
Maybe, just maybe, she could still win this game.
Jaehyun’s voice cut through the silence like a blade.
"Rub yourself."
Y/N’s breath hitched. Her eyes snapped up to meet his, searching for any sign that he was joking. But Jaehyun didn’t joke.
"Touch yourself," he repeated, tilting his glass, watching the amber liquid swirl lazily. "And if you finish before we finish this drink, we might consider letting you go."
Johnny smirked from the bed, stretching out like this was just another form of entertainment for him.
Y/N’s fingers curled into her palms. What the hell was this request? But she knew men. She knew their weaknesses. They loved power. Control. Humiliation. And she? She was a survivor.
So she swallowed down her pride, forced herself to exhale as if she wasn’t completely trapped, and let her hand dip lower. She knew exactly how to fake it. A soft gasp. A shift of her hips. The slight tremble in her thighs. She performed. Men were fools. Johnny took another slow sip of his drink, watching with a lazy sort of amusement, while Jaehyun leaned back in his chair, observing her with those sharp, calculating eyes. Y/N kept one thing in mind. Timing. She knew they were drinking slowly, savoring the moment. Draw it out. Make them believe it. When their glasses were nearing empty, she let out a final, breathy moan, her body shuddering—perfectly timed. She stilled, chest rising and falling dramatically. And for a moment, she thought she had won. Until Jaehyun let out a quiet laugh.
"You’re so fucking fake."
Y/N’s stomach dropped. Her eyes darted to his. He wasn’t smiling.
"Now," Jaehyun murmured, leaning forward, elbows on his knees. "Let’s see how real we can make it, shall we?"
Y/N’s breath trembled as she let tears well up in her eyes. If seduction didn’t work, maybe desperation would. Her voice was soft, breaking just enough to sound genuine.
"I’m sorry," she whispered. "I made a mistake, okay? Please… I’ll return all your money. I swear. I’ll never set foot in this city again. Just—please."
She let her shoulders shake, her hands clutching her shoulders as if she were utterly helpless. For a moment, there was silence. Then, Johnny chuckled. Jaehyun exhaled, setting his glass down with a soft clink.
"And how exactly does that help us?" Johnny mused, tilting his head.
Y/N’s stomach twisted.
"Letting you go," Jaehyun added, standing up, "just means you get to move to another city and do it all over again."
She swallowed. "No, I won’t—"
"You will," Johnny cut in, his voice smooth, confident. "Because that’s what you do, right? You take. You manipulate. You run."
Jaehyun took slow, deliberate steps toward her, his presence suffocating. "You thought you were so smart, didn’t you?"
Y/N flinched but forced herself to hold his gaze. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face almost tenderly.
"Here’s the problem, sweetheart," Jaehyun murmured. "We don’t just want our money back."
Johnny’s smirk deepened as he leaned back on the bed, eyes dark with amusement. "We want you."
Y/N’s blood ran cold.
"You wanted a life of luxury, didn’t you?" Jaehyun continued, fingers trailing down her jaw. "Fine. We’ll give it to you. But on our terms."
Johnny grinned. "No more running, baby. You’re ours now.
Y/N's body tensed as she landed face-first on the bed. Her heart pounded in her chest, her mind racing through every possible way out of this. She was screwed. Completely, utterly screwed. She could feel them hovering over her—two powerful men who now had complete control. Tears welled in her eyes, this time real.
No, no, I can still get out of this. I’ve slept with men I didn’t want before—it’s just like that, nothing else. If I play along, I can still escape. Panic surged through her veins. Johnny moved beside her, his fingers trailing down her cheek with unsettling tenderness.
"Darling," he murmured, "before something silly comes up in that pretty little head of yours… remember the house?"
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat.
No. No, no, no.
She jerked her head up, eyes wide. Do they know everything? Johnny's smirk was slow, dangerous.
"You can’t run there, can you?" he whispered.
Jaehyun chuckled from behind her, his fingers ghosting over her bare shoulder.
"You really thought you were untouchable, didn't you?" he mused. "Like you weren’t leaving a trail of evidence everywhere you went. Did you think we wouldn't find the offshore account? The fake documents?"
Y/N felt the blood drain from her face. They know everything. Johnny tilted her chin up, forcing her to look at him. His eyes gleamed with amusement, but there was something else there, something even worse—possession.
"You’re ours now, sweetheart," he said. "And there’s not a damn thing you can do about it."
Y/N had never felt more trapped. Y/N shuddered. She had never felt truly trapped before. Even when things went wrong in the past, she had always found a way out—a lie, a distraction, a well-timed escape. But this? This was different. Johnny and Jaehyun weren’t just rich men she could manipulate. They weren’t the type to be fooled by soft sighs and empty promises. They had planned for this. Every move she thought she had control over, they had already anticipated. And that terrified her.
She took a shaky breath. Fine. If they wanted her to break, she’d break. Or at least, she’d make them think she had. She swallowed her fear, forcing her muscles to relax, her expression to shift. It was just another role to play. If she played along—gave them what they wanted—maybe she’d get a little freedom. Maybe she’d find a way out. Johnny tilted his head, watching her carefully. Jaehyun smirked, as if he could see right through her. She forced herself to meet their eyes, her lips parting slightly as she whispered, “Tell me what you want.”
For a moment, there was silence. Then Johnny chuckled, low and amused. Jaehyun leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Good girl.”

How to Look High Maintenance on a Budget as a Black Woman
Let’s be real looking expensive isn’t always about designer bags salon appointments or five-star facials. It’s about how you carry yourself the details in your look and the confidence that says “I’m the whole package.”
As a Black woman your beauty already turns heads but now it’s time to elevate and give luxury, even if you’re living on a budget. Here’s your guide to looking like high maintenance without breaking the bank.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ ༺ ☆ ༻ °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*: °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ ༺ ☆ ༻
Luxury skin is healthy skin. You don’t need $300 serums to glow
🌸 Cleaning: CeraVe is the gold standard, but African Black Soap (the real kind) also gives a deep clean.
🌸 Exfoliating: Use The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 2–3 times a week to stay smooth and glowing.
🌸 Moisturizing: Raw shea butter mixed with rose hip or jojoba oil is the ultimate budget glow-up combo.
• Sunscreen: Black Girl Sunscreen gives you a soft, dewy finish and protects your melanin from sun damage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✦₊ ˊ˗ ╰───────────── ✦
Keep a consistent style. Your hair should always be done whether you’re natural, relaxed, or a wig girl, it make you look polished.
Wig Girls
Invest in one good human hair wig. Straight, body wave, or bob it doesn’t matter as long as it’s laid. Keep it fresh with deep conditioning and store it properly.
Natural Queens
• Sleek buns, twist-outs, and puff styles can look high maintenance with just a little edge control (try Ebin 24-Hour Edge Tamer).
• Always sleep in a satin scarf to keep your style intact and your hair frizz-free.
Protective Styles
• Knotless braids, faux locs, and sew-ins always give that girl energy. Add gold cuffs, a silk wrap, or an oversized claw clip to accessorize.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
One thing about high-maintenance girls? Their nails are never chipped.
♡ Press-ons are elite. Kiss, Amazon, and Etsy custom sets give salon vibes at home. Stick to almond, square, or coffin in soft pinks, whites, or nudes.
♡ Gel Manicures at home: You can grab a full kit on Amazon and do your own nails every two weeks.
♡ Cuticle oil is a must even Vaseline works. Keep those hands moisturized and soft.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ⋆*:・゚✧*: *:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ⋆*:・゚✧*: *:・゚✧*:・゚
You don’t need a full beat every day to look expensive. A soft glam or “clean girl” face can go a long way.
• Brows: Shape them naturally, fill in with a pencil, and clean up with concealer for a snatched finish.
• Lashes: Strip lashes from Shein or your local beauty supply store instantly upgrade your look.
• Foundation: Match it perfectly. Try L’Oréal Infallible or Maybelline Fit Me for budget-friendly, flawless coverage.
• Lips: Brown liner + nude gloss = high-maintenance staple.
Signature look tip: Choose one thing that defines your makeup maybe it’s fluttery lashes, glossy lips, or snatched brows and make it your thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking high maintenance doesn’t mean labels. It means looking clean, coordinated, and intentional.
• Neutrals are your best friend. Beige, black, white, olive, grey these colors always look polished.
• Thrift smart: Search for structured blazers, silky tops, and quality denim at thrift stores or resale apps like Poshmark and Depop.
• Accessorize with purpose: Gold hoops, mini purses, claw clips, and layered necklaces turn a basic outfit into that look.
Bonus: Tailoring even cheap clothes makes them look designer. A well-fitted $10 dress > a baggy $300 one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
 🦋 ˚ ✦ ✪ 🥂🌸 🦋 ˚ ✦ ✪ 🥂🌸
Perfume is one of the most powerful parts of your high maintenance .
• Fragrance layering: Use body wash + lotion + perfume in the same scent family for a long-lasting effect.
• Perfume oils: Arabian oils or Etsy shops offer dupes of designer fragrances that last all day.
• Signature scents: Vanilla, oud, amber, and white floral notes are universally seen as luxury scents.
You can wear the outfit, the hair, the nails but if your energy isn’t giving soft, feminine, and secure? You’ll miss the whole aesthetic.
-`♡´- Walk slowly, speak with confidence, and never chase. Let people come to you.
-`♡´- Don’t over-explain yourself. High-maintenance girls let their presence speak for them.
Be mysterious. Be graceful. Be selective.
Final Thoughts 💋
You don’t need a fortune to look and feel high maintenance. Sometimes, the key is learning how to make small, affordable choices work in your favor. From your skincare routine to your wardrobe, there’s always a way to create a luxury look without going overboard. It’s about paying attention to the details, and most importantly, believing that you are deserving of luxury no matter your budget. Start small, stay consistent

ATEEZ IN BRUSSELS PART 1/1
여러분~~~ Over a week has gone by and I'm ready to talk about it (aka I've rested & recovered): Ateez in Brussels, the final performance of the Europe leg of Will to Power! This may become a multi-part affair, the writeup of the concert itself in this post and then maybe follow-up posts with some meta musings.
Let's go!
Getting tickets: Ok imagine you're me. It's the 3rd of February 2025, you've just seen Ateez in Amsterdam and you've gone a little bit insane, what do you do? Well if you really are me, you look if there will be another concert nearby (there will be), if people are reselling tickets (they are), if you have enough concert funds (you do), and two days and an inadvisable amount of money later you are the proud owner of a first-row Golden Circle seat for Ateez's final performance of Will to Power in Europe! > copious amounts of celebratory yelling go here <
Travel: Travel was more intense than expected. Brussels is technically not that far from me, but I had se ve re ly underestimated how LONG it takes to get past the ring of Antwerp. Also I had work on the same day, so by the time I left for the concert I was very ready to Shut Off My Brain and Be Entertained. I had scrounged up a fresh New Atiny Friend to drive together, and that really was a golden move because there's nothing to get you through rush hour traffic like yapping to someone who is delulu about the same 8 guys as you are. Also I gave her some keychains and she liked them :)))))
Arrival, queue, people watching: The queue in Brussels was a breeze because there wasn't one. We had aimed to arrive right when doors opened so NAF could secure a good standing spot and we could walk in straight away. She went off to get her spot and I went to chill in my chair until it was time to start. I didn't have @moonshine-aqua with me this time to chat to but there were plenty of people to observe in my section. Interestingly, there were a lot more people sitting alone here than there were in my general access section in Amsterdam. Maybe they also had resale tickets (like me), or didn't have friends who wanted to shill out a silly amount of money (like me), or they were teenagers whose parents paid for them (unlike me). In any case I think there's something about being in the Good Seats™ that made people extra cranky, maybe they were just hyper-aware of how much money they spent but people started squabbling about not being able to see or people dancing before the concert started and they didn't stop for the rest of the night. The section also was way quieter than the gen access section, maybe people feel shy to scream their lungs out when they're on their own? But the girl behind me was keeping a running commentary in French that I could basically follow every word of.
Seating: Ok the seating itself, it was kind of fancy right? Some 20 rows from the stage, at a dead angle to the extended walkway. Which is so close (but sadly not quite close enough to repeat @fayet's Guy's amazing flirting experience with Seongwha) that I had to come up with a whole new strategy to See As Much As Possible. In the end I settled on i) tracking one member across the stage to see their crowdwork and dancing or ii) watching the giant 5billion HD screen like 20 meters away for special moments like Seongwha licking his fingers. In general it wasn't really the best section for getting interactions with the members, Mingi and Yeosang came REALLY close but I think the section to the right of us was just a bit more well-lit so they tended to go there. And I was personally most interested in Wooyoung, but he seemed to be having a bit of a down night and stuck to waving at people at the barricades.
Show: Aside from small flourishes/details the show was identical to the one in Amsterdam. That's not a dig, it's a testament to the insane amount of preparation and practice that must have gone into it. @fayet likened it to a well-rehearsed big-budget musical and I think that's an apt comparison; I went to see the Phantom of the Opera the Sunday after and it had the same ease in the performances, smooth scene changes, well choreographed lighting, same amount of spectacle, etc. Also the volume dear god, I took my earplugs out for a couple parts so I could get properly swept up in the crowd's hype but I would not advise it unless you're desperate to acquire tinnitus. The predictability was also great for me and my work-stewed mind: ah yes, first the part where they are In Distress, then part where they look hot at the front of the stage, then the part where Wooyoung get's choked (Very Important), the part where they look hot at a bar… If the Amsterdam concert was an avalanche of impressions that left me feeling like I had to lie down every 1.5 seconds, this concert was like like putting on a familiar movie and just letting myself be thoroughly entertained for 2.5 hours. The highlight of the night for me was again the sequence of Ice on My Teeth - Arriba - Django, those songs are just SO FUN and sure to get the crowd going.
Closing thoughts: I'm way overthinking this writeup so here's my closing thoughts for now. Ateez is still a blast even if you're cooked out of your gourd. If you want to mitigate post-concert depression get yourself a @storkmuffin to yell at. And will I spend this amount of money again? Maybe. Who knows. Probably. I'll just make sure my funds are replenished in case I'm still riding the Ateez high next time they come to Europe (and I'll make sure to take @moonshine-aqua with me again).
Highlights
General writeup done, here's some highlights! I was especially on the lookout for differences with the Amsterdam performance, it's always fun when you get to see something not everyone got to see. :D
Yunho: Very expressive performer. I love in the first third of the show where he spends some time looking completely horrified. Incredible dancing, great freestyling skills. It's really mesmerizing to watch someone to whom dancing is second nature, like when you walk you don't have to think about placing your foot, you just walk. He looks like he doesn't have to think about how to dance across the stage he just goes.
Mingi: Im love him now. Complete ball of energy, he did like a billion laps of the stage. I loved how they styled him, all baggy clothes whirling past all the time. I didn't notice him AT ALL in Amsterdam but this time I just kept being pulled in by his charisma, whenever he didn't have to look Serious or Brooding for a song he was basically all smiles, waving at the crowd, making hearts, etc etc. Also hair slicked back is an incredible mingo look.
Hongjoong: Im sorry Hongjoong I wasn't famiar with your game. Idk how the smallest man alive has the biggest aura but he had SO MUCH CHARISMA. HUGE dancemoves, HIGH jumps, HIGH kicks. Every time I wanted to track Wooyoung I kept getting distracted by Hongjoong. Also he did his metal screamo intro for Guerilla and it was amazing.
San: beautiful and skilled to the point of being unremarkable. Like how a statue is beautiful but you don't want to [REDACTED]. Live vocals on point though which is INSANE given the choreo. I think any of them could star in a big budget musical at this point. He sounded like in the Dingo video but more out of breath. Insane insane insane.
Seongwha: fully licked his fingers. Ok whore (affectionate). Also insane live vocals hello Utopia.
Choreos: remarkable in sharpness, evenness, insane distance travelled across the stage. I would be looking at one member (ok I would be looking at Wooyoung) and it was like… Oh he's in front! He's in the back! He's twerking! He's in the back again! He travelled 8 meters while doing a perfect turn! Sick
ATINY IS THE BOSS: So right before Arriba Ateez asks one audience member: who should be the boss tonight? And that member of Ateez then gets to lead the audience chants going into Arriba. Well, this was the last concert right, so I was personally very curious who would be chosen to close out this tradition in Europe. And this wonderful perfect GENIUS Atiny decided that actually no, it's the last time, ATINY should be the boss. Perfect way to avoid any favoritism, and Ateez's reactions were so cute. They clearly didn't see it coming and they turned it into this fun moment where the audience got to call: "ARE YOU READY?" And then they started the song.
Ending ments: Hongjoong in particular had a long and touching ment about how much Atiny means to Ateez, and how he wants Ateez to be something that can make you happy on tough days. It felt somewhat off the cuff to me (or he had memorised it really well), and I thought it was cute that he was speaking so candidly about his appreciation for their fans. He also clarified even further in a live about wanting Ateez to be something fans can take joy from. And it's cheesy and all, but I really DO take a lot of joy from them, and I'm making new friends online because of them (hi @fayet @storkmuffin @minjoongism @iriswashername) and that's just really really fun and nice.
OK THATS IT. I was going to add more links but I ran out of steam love you all muah muah muah byeeee

Marauders Era Employment - Sirius Black
Like James, Sirius was not canonically employed. Thanks to his Uncle Alphard’s inheritance, he was able to live independently and purchase/tinker with his motorcycle while fighting with the Order of the Phoenix. We don’t know exactly how much he inherited from Alphard, but we do know that he still inherited Grimmauld Place after his parents (and Regulus) died. However, I doubt he would choose to live there.
Based on his canon description/personality, in my opinion, Sirius would choose to join James on whatever venture he took on, pursue a job in magical mechanics, or start his own business. I lean into magical mechanics more because of his detailed (and largely unnecessary) work on his motorcycle.
I think it’s most likely that he would either open a motorcycle/repair shop or buy/fix-up/resale motorcycles from his home.
We know that Sirius was fascinated by muggle motorcycles well before leaving his childhood home and purchased one as soon as possible. Not to mention, the modifications he made with magic are rather impressive. Particularly the one that accommodated Hagrid, a half-giant, on his bike. The presumption here is that the motorcycle shifted size to fit the rider. It also flew, which as we see in the case of the Ford Anglia is not an easy feat.
My favourite head-canon jobs for Sirius are a lawyer and an independent artist. I think he would thrive on challenging the ministry/law in a profound way, whether it was through legal or creative means.
