Something really cool came in the mail yesterday. The Kickstarter Premium Components for Distilled by @paverson . @brettballett drew attention to the campaign at the time and the topic picked me up right away. I love drinking whiskey and find the process of making it incredibly interesting. The components are definitely really great ❤️ that makes me want to play the main game all the more. There's something so poignant in how carefully OFMD treats suicidality - in how Ed says he thinks he's supposed to "choose live."

Because that's the whole thing, isn't it? People who aren't suicidal might think that living is passive, but when you're in that mindset, it's an active choice to get up every day and decide "alright. I'm gonna try and see this one through."

Living isn't something you can do passively. When Stede just couldn't take it anymore, he made the choice to do something radical, because that was a life he could see himself sticking around for. Ed made the choice to wake up and try to live again, and he kept making the choice to try and make amends, and he even made the choice to run away from Stede because he must've known it was either that or go back into a life that was killing him. He chose to live every step of the way.

And I love that, because on my worst days, I can remember that and destill everything right back down to basics. That's the wonderful thing about what OFMD tells us, I think, becuase it doesn't say "you have to fix your entire life, right now, all at once." It says "maybe you can choose to live." And that's not easy - look at how hard Ed had to fight to make that choice! - but if that's the only choice you can make, that's good enough.

In the new Fionna and Cake trailer there's a moment where simon can be seen hanging upside down by a rope (second 42) from someone while climbing and THAT SOMEONE IS FINN!!!!

I LOVE his design. He got mega jacked and he's wearing a new and bigger (also jacked) robotic arm. Also I love that he is back with his old super long hair! I've missed that sooooooo much. Love the detail of the shoulder protection that he was seen wearing in together again as his old self. And I find really really cute that with all that masculinity and power he destils he still wears his classic bear hat.

Due to the toned-down color palet of his clothes it looks a lot more somber and sober, even sad after Jackes passing, but I truly believe he is the playful and energetic Finn we all remember.
