I recently got my paws on the Jada Mega Man and Fire Man figurines, and I would go as far as to say that the former is the best Mega Man figure yet! And seeing as it's been quite some time since I've sprited a robot master in my own style, I chose to draw a Fire Man sprite in a style similar to that of Mega Man Ultimate's own... and this is what I came up with! 💙✨🏳️‍⚧️

Alright, I was chatting to a friend about James Bond because I was doing a sort of study on him for Art GCSE (long story) and we got joking about how we’d remake it.

They suggested that the only correct way would be to have the six of them as magical girls with their own colours and sparkly guns. I of course, as the resident person who doubles down and draws blursed shit, had to draw this.

I’m only halfway through, but I hope the target audience for this exists?

I’m titling this ‘007: License to Slay’ as a friend of mine suggested lmao. I think this is the best thing I’ve ever drawn personally. Can’t wait to do Dalton, Brosnan and Craig.

Just bear with me alright I’m not super familiar with magical girls as a concept and I predominantly draw more masculine costumes and clothing.

Basically just tried to extract the most salvageable and unique/distinct characteristics of each Bond. Pierce Brosnan doesn’t get one (yet) because I’ve never seen one of his movies and Daniel Craig doesn’t yet because I’ve drawn too many sad men drinking recently.

I know this is cursed don’t expect anything better from me like ever. Enjoy some final images of Roger Moore as compensation for your time here (not kidding when I say this man is absolutely feral).

If you want me to elaborate on this at any point please tell me it occupies too many of my thoughts as of late.

Welp, this project took me way more time than I expected (9 days...) I mean, every quote has basically been its own mini design project, and I also had to battle (and lose several times to) my extremely uncooperative printer to scan the Fleming one.

As for the inspiration, it comes from @dye-it-rouge-et-noir/@carvermediagroupnetwork's Elliot Carver web weaving—making an Alec one was simply a no-brainer for me lol. Don't know if I'll do another, but it was fun nonetheless :D

I read Casino Royale and it completely destroyed me even tho I knew what was about to happen from watching the movie 😭 I was completely hook on the book just because of their relationship.

Btw, I didn't expect James Bond to be this different from Daniel Craig, but I also couldn't picture any of the James Bond actors as James Bond. Maybe Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan a bit. Eva Green was perfect for Vesper tho ❤️

“Caliber. Covert Caliber.”

Made a James Bond inspired pony because I can never forget my roots as a Bond girlie. More specifically Daniel Craig’s version; He will always have a special place in my heart <3

Anyway, Covert Caliber is a pony who’s as mysterious as the shadows that he walks in. As an agent for Equestria’s Special Intelligence Service, he relies on his charms, wit, and sharpshooting skills to protect the kingdom from adversaries. He likes his martinis shaken, not stirred.

gradually drawing all the Bonds. George Lazenby this time + some Tracy and Blofeld. Telly Savalas is my favorite Blofeld actor by a landslide, I think he’s the only one who really struck a perfect silly/serious balance. He’s such a campy 60s movie villain but he still feels like a real threat to Bond’s life. Though I might be biased since I was already a fan of him in various stupid 60s horror movies before I got into Bond.

Casino Royale

book cover designs

for a project in my college course i was asked to create different book cover designs for a book of our choice, i decided on Ian Fleming’s, Casino Royale (1952).

i was really happy with my covers and wanted to share !

this was a linocut of Bond following Le Chiffre away from the hotel in France - in reflection the print looks more like skyfall manor but we move.

this was a screen print of a revolver with poker chips in replacement of bullets, this was one of my favourite designs.

this was an ink drawing of Vesper Lynd holding a pistol (this is metaphoric for the bullet she put through Bonds heart after her death and confession).

this was the design i used as my final piece.

i took the photo of the bullet in the martini glass with a canon 600D - i think this was my most successful and striking cover.

James Bond magical girls - Timothy Dalton

I’ve finally finished it. Because god. This one destroyed me? I hated so much of it for ages and only just realised after I started liking it that my colour choices made him look like a leprechaun. Brilliant.

(Had a moment of panic when I couldn’t remember which Bond was Irish and had to Google Timothy Dalton’s nationality because god. It may not have been good if I’d drawn the only Irish Bond like this 💀. Timothy Dalton is Welsh, thankfully. The Irish Bond is Pierce Brosnan.)

But yeah. He was supposed to look the most edgy and villainous of all the Bonds, but just ended up looking like a Royale High St. Patrick’s Day outfit. I’ve come too far to go back on it now so we’re just going to deal with it.

The pose meant that I couldn’t add a lot of the detail I wanted to add so if I make future drawings, the top half of the design will change somewhat.

Despite being disappointed with how he turned out, I still love him and I think he’s a great addition to the cinematic universe of crimes against art I am slowly building.

The Double-O's (partially found rejected British TV series pilot; 1990)

Some stills from the opening credits of The Double-O's, the rejected pilot for a James Bond spinoff series starring Sean Bean and Pierce Brosnan. This pilot was produced during Giancarlo Parretti's ownership of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (1990-1991), concurrently to the animated series James Bond Jr. It is speculated that the commercial failure of James Bond Jr., Parretti's fraudulent misuse of MGM's funds, as well as the pilot's dated aesthetics are the main reasons behind the rejection.

However, Bean and Brosnan eventually reprised their roles from the series in 1995's GoldenEye, the 17th James Bond film. Judging from these (anonymously sourced) stills, it appears that some material from the pilot was re-used in the film. To this day, no other attempts to create a TV series adapted from the James Bond franchise have been made. It is also unknown whether a complete version of the pilot will ever be recovered.

Still there? Okay, I guess I have to confess: this is no lost media lol. Just me having listened some times too many the main theme of The Persuaders (the Bond-esque series starring Tony Curtis and Roger Moore). I mean, I love the melancholy of that theme (thanks John Barry), and the aesthetics of the opening just as much. That was a fun little project 🙂 (and ngl, I'd kill for an actual full version of that opening with unseen 1980s bondalec footage...)
