New Scotland Yard: Shock Tactics (1.6, LWT, 1972)
"Nobody's hurt. I went down to get the truth and I got it."
"The truth? Or a conviction?"
"Both. Well, alright, we already knew the truth, but this way we get our conviction too."
"Not 'our' conviction. And the Crown only gets it if this stands up."
"Well, why shouldn't it, it was voluntary. No duress, no threats, no promises."
"That's what you say."
#new scotland yard#shock tactics#lwt#classic tv#patrick alexander#john reardon#john woodvine#john carlisle#john normington#ray smith#john quentin#sheila gish#artro morris#frank middlemass#hugh morton#joyce cummings#pauline stroud#gareth forbes#derrick gilbert#mischa de la motte#a man kills his wife by scaring her; this leads into a fairly interesting thought experiment‚ as the onus of the police becomes#proving malicious intent rather than proving the act (which he freely admits). this leads to our first sight of our characters in court#indeed the third act is entirely courtroom drama‚ the prosecution case complicated by Carlisle's heavy handed attempts at#shocking the killer into admitting guilt naturally enough this drives another shouty wedge between him and Woodvine.. i am enjoying#this series but im struggling to think of another crime drama featuring main characters who so clearly do not enjoy nor#appreciate working together like this pair. it's an odd choice. Normington is our killer and cuts a rather pathetic figure‚ despite the#audience knowing up front that he did indeed plot his wife's death. the question of whether or not it is murder becomes a point#of purely legal technicality‚ out of our leads' hands‚ with just jolly old Ray Smith (on loan from Public Eye) to fight the good fight as#the prosecuting counsel. Middlemass has a rather scene stealing turn as a heavy drinking police surgeon (and gets the best moment in the#episode‚ serving Carlisle a drink in a dirty piece of medical apparatus but assuring him not to worry 'the whisky will sterilise it')

Man. I just realized Felix marrying annette means his father-in-law is Gilbert... Picturing Felix and Annette commiserating over their shitty dads that put faerghus's ideals of chivalry and honor over actually being good dads to their kids lmao
Oh, it is absolutely one of the foundations of their relationship. I think bonding over mediocre parents could happen between almost any two random FE3H characters. Every parent in FE3H manages to traumatize their child somehow. It's staggering.
I think the basis of Felix and Annette's relationship is how they challenge each other. Annette and Mercie offer each other unconditional support and cheerleading, but Annette and Felix hold each other to a high standard of behavior. Annette believes that Felix is a good person, so she expects him to act like a good person, and when he doesn't act like a good person she Is Disappointed In Him TM. I think Felix tells her to get over herself, that the world isn't carried on her back, and that she doesn't have to set herself on fire to keep others warm. He curbs her people-pleasing habits and she curbs his people-aggressing habits. They're a very good counterbalance for each other and their relationship is really stable. Felix and Sylvain are the Sword of Damocles that cut through each other's bullshit and walls, and they understand each other in ways that Annette and Mercie can't, but I don't think a monogamous relationship between them would be as rock solid as Felix and Annette.
But absolutely, a very dominant shared priority between them is not wanting to replicate their own parental relationships. They'll do anything to put their kids first. I may have cut the exact paragraph where I state this, but Felix is canonically the best parent out of the entire group. He's relaxed but challenging; unconditionally accepting but firm in setting boundaries. He sees each kid exactly for who they are and pushes them to be the best possible version of themselves.
The Lions have absolutely all bonded over having shitty parents. It's the bedrock of their found family. I think that this desperation to be different from their parents means that they swing really hard into being the exact opposite of their parents, which actually just creates an entirely different set of problems.
I also straight up think that Sylvain shouldn't have been a father and he did not particularly want children - and kids can fucking tell that shit. Felix, Annette, Mercie, and Sylvain didn't necessarily WANT to Pair Up Heterosexually, but they had to. Ashe was not very parented and doesn't see the big deal in being gone all the time; Ingrid had no expectations put on herself to succeed so she places those expectations on her own kids. Dedue holds himself at an emotional distance from Felipe, which is the opposite of what he needs; Mercie is perfect. Dimitri's parents died too young for him to hate them, and he's also very neurotic and projects a LOT, and as a result he can come down way too hard on his own kids. Byleth read books on the importance of being maternal and her displays of being maternal are scientific. Both Dimitri and Byleth really casually hold their kids to an astronomically high standard. Dimitri will also always be someone with unmedicated schizoaffective/bipolar/PTSD and it will inevitably make his presence as a parent somewhat unstable. Derrick is there.
That said, they've all put in a tremendous amount of energy and effort to be good parents and be present in their children's lives. They care and they try. Which is more important than all the rest.
Weekenders was such a weird deconstruction/reconstruction of found family that I ended up thinking a lot about the kinds of adults the BL would grow up to be and the affects of the insane generational trauma that's undoubtedly happening. There's so much parental trauma you have to wonder what kind of parents that would create. And you have to look at the ripple effects of Byleth's Insanity TM. Whenever I think too hard about something fic inevitably happens lmfao. Thanks for reading!

This is the Christmas Station ID of TV5 in 2010. The Christmas Station ID was themed “Maligayang Pasko, Kapatid! In the Service of the Filipino”. The Station ID is accompanied with the Christmas version of “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” performed by Jose Mari Chan and Apo Hikng Society featuring Regine Velasquez. But somehow, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez also performed the original version of the “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” in June 30, 2010.
The Christmas Station ID was launched in December 1, 2010 which is the same thing that the “Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino” music video was released from ABS-CBN.
The Christmas Station ID features Luchi Cruz-Valdez, Pinky Webb, Korina Sanchez, Pia Arcangel, Connie Sison, Ivan Mayrina, Mark Salazar, Raffy Tima, Lourd de Veyra, Shawn Yao, Paolo Bediones, Martin Andanar, Seph Ubalde, Atom Araullo, Rhea Santos, Alex Santos, Zen Hernandez, Pinky Webb, Mai Rodriguez, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Alex Santos, Mario Dumaual, Gilbert Remulla, Emil Sumangil, John Consulta, Grace Lee, Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo, Marco Alcaraz, Hero Angeles, Vice Ganda, Empoy Marquez, Coco Martin, Zoren Legaspi, Ogie Alcasid, Luis Manzano, Matteo Guidicelli, DingDong Dantes, Enchong Dee, Rocco Nacino, Dennis Trillo, IC Mendoza, Jerald Napoles, Carmina Villaroel, Eugene Domingo, Nora Aunor, Angel Aquino, Aiko Melendez, BB Gandanghari, Randy Santiago, John Wayne Sace, Allen Dizon, John Arcilla, Gabby Eigenmann, Geoff Eigenmann, Edu Manzano, Jericho Rosales, Neil Coleta, Cogie Domingo, Lloyd Zaragoza, Kit Thompson, Nash Aguas, Valeen Montenegro, Emman Abelda, Joshua Dionisio, Enrique Gil, Carlo Aquino, Liza Soberano, Michael V., Allan K., Xian Lim, Yves Flores, German Moreno, Carmelito “Shalala” Reyes, Romy “Dagul” Pastrana, Aga Muhlach, Sid Lucero, Onemig Bondoc, Diether Ocampo, Ruru Madrid, Juancho Triviño, Ina Raymundo, Dina Bonnevie, Ahron Villena, Jun Sabayton, Niño Muhlach, Simon Ibarra, Baron Geisler, Dominic Roque, Ramon Bautista, Gian Magdangal, Chuckie Dreyfus, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III, Diego Castro III, Rafael Rosell, Jake Cuenca, Troy Montero, Antonio Aquitania, Isko Moreno, Lester Llansang, John Lapus, Arcee Muñoz, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas, Ritz Azul, Eula Caballero, Kristine Hermosa, Angel Locsin, Coleen Garcia, Shaina Magdayao, Ellen Adarna, Louise de los Reyes, Jessie Mendiola, Ivana Alawi, Maja Salvador, Ivan Dorschner, Enrico Cuenca, John Lloyd Cruz, Benjamin Alves, Paulo Avelino, EJ Falcon, David Licauco, Ken Chan, CJ Muere, Pancho Magno, Paolo Serrano, Renz Fernandez, Adrian Alandy, Derrick Monasterio, Lance Serrano, Marky Cielo, Vince Gamad, Jiro Manio, Addy Raj, Dianne Medina, RR Enriquez, Princess Ryan, Sunshine Cruz, Kim Chiu, Pauleen Luna, Heaven Peralejo, Sanya Lopez, Lianne Valentin, Enzo Pineda, Marco Gumabao, Dion Ignacio, Jason Abalos, Regine Velasquez, JC de Vera, Martin Escudero, Gerald Anderson, Sef Cadayona and Edgar Allan Guzman including Julius Babao and his wife Christine Bersola-Babao, Mikoy Morales, the son of Vicky Morales, Ronwaldo and Kristoffer Martin, the sons of Coco Martin and Sandino Martin, the brother of Coco Martin, twin brothers Rodjun and Rayver Cruz, Master Boy Abunda, DJ Willie Revillame, Emcee Mo Twister, The Smosh Cast Members Anthony Padilla, Ian Hecox, Caleb Logan Bratayley, DJ Lance the Dinosaur from Sesame Street, Blue the Puppy from Disney’s Blues Clues who is the mascot of TV5, South Korean Boy Band Momoland and president Noynoy Aquino as Santa Claus featuring the Goin Bulilit new cast members like CX Navarro, Mutya Orquia, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Charlie Dizon and more after the retirement of the original cast members like Vin Abrenica, Sophie Albert, Mark Neumann, Shaira Mae Diaz, Akihiro Blanco and Chanel Morales who appeared as special guests. But somehow, Vin Abrenica, Sophie Albert, Mark Neumann, Shaira Mae Diaz, Akihiro Blanco and Chanel Morales moved to ABS-CBN where they became the Artista Academy students.
Somehow, This was also the only Christmas Station ID to feature Marky Cielo before his death in November 30, 2012 due to a cardiac arrest. Somehow, Mel Tiangco, Howie Severino, Dominic Roco, Felix Roco, James Reid, Nadine Lustre and twin sisters Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith don’t appear in the Christmas Station ID at this point due to their retirement from TV5. Also Ram Revilla did not appear because he died in December 30, 2009.
The Christmas Station ID theme will be re-used in the 2011 Christmas Station ID from TV5 which is “Magpasaya ang Kapatid” but with minor changes and fireworks at the very end. Somehow, The fireworks at the very end will occur in the 2015 Christmas Station ID which is “Happy Ka Dito Ngayon Pasko” which will feature special guests like Rufa Mae Quinto, Julia Montes, Cristine Reyes, Dimples Romana, Alex Gonzaga, Roxanne Guinoo, Angelica Panganiban and Valerie Concepcion waving at the end.

Listen to LIVE - Justin Timberlake: Tiny Desk Concert
youtube
Stephen Thompson | March 15, 2024 Walking into the room shortly before Justin Timberlake took our cramped stage, I overheard someone on his team wondering aloud if this was to be the most densely populated Tiny Desk concert in history — which is to say, the most musicians we've ever fit in a single frame. It's not, but we don't often find a way to cram in this many human beings (15 in all) and this much gear.
Timberlake has never been one to give partial effort, but this is a production befitting the occasion: namely, a set timed to drop concurrently with the release of his new album, Everything I Thought It Was. Eschewing the rootsier feel of its predecessor, 2018's Man of the Woods, the new record is a throwback, an epic and a blowout — and so's this lavish set, which scales the Timberlake experience down to 25 minutes of maximalist celebration and, when the moment calls for it, chiller vibes.
Backed by his band The Tennessee Kids, Timberlake's Tiny Desk debut leans heavily on his early solo catalog, as he kicks it off with two songs from 2002's classic Justified and weaves in three more from 2006's magnificent FutureSex/LoveSounds — including a set-closing "SexyBack," which finds the singer trotting out a megaphone in a truly meme-worthy moment.
By the way, in case you're wondering, the all-time record for musicians behind the Tiny Desk is a whopping 23, a feat pulled off by the fantastic Mucca Pazza in 2015. But Timberlake and company rival that classic performance's energy — in both cases, the real triumph lies not in the Tetris of it all, but in the way that many people still find ways to move, buoyantly and as one mighty organism.
SET LIST "Señorita" "Rock Your Body" "Pusher Love Girl" "Until The End Of Time" "Selfish" "What Goes Around" "SexyBack"
MUSICIANS Justin Timberlake: lead vocals, guitar, keys RaVaughn Brown: vocals Camry: vocals Erin Stevenson: vocals Kenyon Dixon: vocals Justin Gilbert: keys Mike Reid: drums Elliot Ives: guitar Derrick Ray: bass Leon Silva: saxophone Kevin Williams: trombone, flute Dontae Winslow: trumpet Sean Erick: trumpet Adam Blackstone: keys, percussion, music direction Andrew Hypes: DJ

Sergei Pavlovich vs Curtis Blaydes (Preview + Betting Guide)
Every division has about, 3, or 4 guys, that float around The Champion. They're either one win away from a title shot, or they're sitting and waiting for The Champ to make a move. In the Welterweight division it's Gilbert Burns, Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, and until last week Jorge "Gamebread" Masvidal, with Shavkat Rahkmonov, and Belal Muhammad looking in from the outside; one of them gets the shot, the other two fight eachother, and everyone else looks to make a statementin the cage, to cut a promo, hoping to get into this elite group. The Heavyweights are no different.
Last year it was Francis, Stipe, Gane, and Lewis at the top. Since then, Stipe has taken some time off, Francis left the promotion, vacating the belt, Gane lost two title fights, and Jon Jones entered the picture. Jon Jones, being who he is, got an immediate title shot, and put the whole division on notice. The man he beat, Cyril Gane retook his place as the Heavyweight division's Max Holloway. And Father Time finally knocked on Derrick Lewis's door in the form of a 6'4 Russian fighter named Sergei Pavlovich. Sergei is the scariest heavyweight we've seen since Francis, sparking everyone that steps in the cage with him (losing once to a veteran Overeem, in his first UFC fight). Curtis Blaydes, similar to Belal Muhammad, is, and has been, buzzing for a little while now. He beats good fighters, then loses to the cream of the crop, but always comes back against up and comers, and makes a run at the title. Blaydes, on a 3 fight win streak, is now 1 fight away from making a serious case for a title shot, and standing in his way is argueably his toughest test to date.
So does Curtis Blaydes get it done? Does he expose Pavlovich's gas tank? Wrestle him, drag him into deep waters, and beat another big Russian? No, Sergei knocks him out in the second round, then gets a fight with Cyril, for a shot at the title.
Tumblr media
Guys, make no mistake, just because you haven't heard of him, doesn't make this guy any less of a monster. The UFC has this weird habit of only building up their top guys, and leaving everyone else to fend for scraps. And maybe, due to it's giant roster, and enormous reach, they have the ability to not only let a guy middle in obscurity, but eventually build him up in two fights, but Sergei is a freak ladies and gentleman. Curtis Blaydes is a tough matchup, and with notable finishes against Derrick Lewis, and Tai Tuivasa, Sergei is one good win away from getting that UFC push. A bonafide winner, with bricks in his fists, Sergei gets it done, and due to the fact that most bettors have no idea what they're talking about Sergei is +140 to win the fight, take it, and thank me later.
Another good bet, with solid odds, is the 'Under 0.5 Round', let me explain. Vegas has the 'Under 1.5 Rounds' at -145, meaning they expect the fight to end by the early second round. Sergei and Balydes round 1 finishes are their likeliest paths to victory at +325, and +250 respectively, so almost everything is pointing to a very early stoppage. All of Sergei's fights in the UFC have ended in the first round, he's sharp, strong, and I expect him to understand the problem he's facing, and know how to solve it. And on the off chance that Blaydes takes him down, and ground and pound finishes him early, you still cash. Good bet, if you want higher odds on something.
MY BET, is 'Pavlovich in Round 2' at +950. Vegas has 'Yes (Fight Completes 1 Full Round)' at -155, and 'Yes (Fight Completes 2 Full Rounds)' at +155, so the oddsmakers are expecting it to get out of the first, but not the second. Blaydes has done his homework, he wont come out to trade with Pavlovich early, and contrary to popular belief, I don't think Sergei gasses out like everyone expects him to. I can see a 2nd, or even 3rd round finsh, but based on the odds, and the likelihood of it being sooner, rather than later, i'm taking Sergei Pavlovich in the 2nd round. Let me also remind you that after fighting a good 1st Round against Derrick Lewis, Blaydes got knocked out shooting for a takedown in Round 2. Why would expect a more favorable outcome for the wrestler, if he's facing a much man?
If after reading all that, you're still on the Blaydes train, firstly you have to improve your reading comprehension skills.. But honestly, all jokes aside there is a universe in which Blaydes wins, and it's not pretty. If he wins it's gonna be long, and it's gonna be tedious, but he gets it done, and for those people, in that alternate, perverted universe, they should take 'Blaydes by decision' at +800. He wrestles Pav, tires him out, and takes the power out of his shots, forcing the Russian giant to go all 5 rounds, and most likely, if it goes 5 rounds, Blaydes wins. Thanks for reading.

So glad this passed. Calling and emailing elected officials can feel like screaming onto the void a lot of the time but it does make an impact. The article mentions that city council members got thousands of emails about this resolution. I emailed my alderman about it. The third largest city (by population) in the US calling for a ceasefire is significant. At the very least it's another point of pressure on the people in Washington who actually have the power to do something.
Also I learned from this article that Chicago has the biggest Palestinian-American population in the country which is neat.

wada sez: Throughout the first two seasons of the cartoon, the Transformers on Earth would travel back to Cybertron using a space bridge. During the timeskip leading into The Transformers: The Movie, the Decepticons successfully gain total control of the planet, with Shockwave acting as leader on Megatron’s behalf. This strip is set during that timeskip. Iacon was the Autobots’ final stronghold, established in the very first episodes of the cartoon—in contrast to the comics, which used the name for an entire polity on the planet, the cartoon simply presented it as a single structure. This strip’s script makes lots of heavy-handed references to the fact that Prowl and Ironhide are amongst the swathe of old product brutally killed off in The Transformers: The Movie.

This is the 2012 Christmas Station ID of TV5. The Christmas Station ID was themed "Everyday is Christmas Day”
The Christmas Station ID Theme Song of the same name was sung by Jose Mari Chan and Apo Hiking Society. They also sang the 2010 Christmas Station ID theme song from TV5 with Regine Velasquez.
But eventually, The Christmas Station ID features Ogie Alcasid, Martin Andanar, Seph Ubalde, Nash Aguas, Valeen Montenegro, Emman Abeleda, Joshua Dionisio, Kristine Hermosa, Angel Locsin, Coleen Garcia, Shaina Magdayao, Ellen Adarna, Louise de los Reyes, Jessie Mendiola, Ivana Alawi, Maja Salvador, Troy Montero, Isko Moreno, Donny Pangilinan, Vince Gamad, Vice Ganda, Empoy Marquez, Coco Martin, Zoren Legaspi, Carmina Villaroel, Eugene Domingo, Nora Aunor, Aiko Melendez, Angel Aquino, BB Gandanghari, Grace Lee, Dianne Medina, RR Enriquez, Sunshine Cruz, Princess Ryan, Diego Castro III, Mark Herras, Luis Manzano, Matteo Guidicelli, DingDong Dantes, Enchong Dee, Kris Aquino, JC de Vera, Martin Escudero, Edgar Allan Guzman, Gerald Anderson, Sef Cadayona, Arcee Muñoz, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas, Ritz Azul, Eula Caballero, Kim Chiu, Pauleen Luna, Heaven Peralejo, Sanya Lopez, Lianne Valentin, Xian Lim, Addy Raj, Aga Muhlach, Jiro Manio, Yves Flores, Luchi Cruz-Valdez, Korina Sanchez, Pia Arcangel, Connie Sison, Ivan Mayrina, Mark Salazar, Raffy Tima, Paolo Bediones, Atom Araullo, Shawn Yao, Enrique Gil, Carlo Aquino, Liza Soberano, Ram Revilla, Marky Cielo, Sid Lucero, Onemig Bondoc, Diether Ocampo, IC Mendoza, Jason Abalos, Marco Gumabao, Jerald Napoles, Randy Santiago, Michael V., Rocco Nacino, Allan K., John Wayne Sace, Pen Medina, Ping Medina, Alex Vincent Medina, Antonio Aquitania, Lester Llansang, John Lapus, Dennis Trillo, Jake Cuenca, Lloyd Zaragoza, Kit Thompson, Renz Fernandez, CJ Muere, Pancho Magno, German Moreno, Carmelito “Shalala” Reyes, Romy “Dagul” Pastrana, Allen Dizon, John Arcilla, Lance Serrano, Adrian Alandy, Sam Milby, Marco Alcaraz, Bea Alonzo, Hero Angeles, Gabby Eigenmann, Geoff Eigenmann, Edu Manzano, Jericho Rosales, Neil Coleta, Jun Sabayton, Niño Muhlach, Simon Ibarra, Baron Geisler, Dominic Roque, Ramon Bautista, Gian Magdangal, Chuckie Dreyfus, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III, Ruru Madrid, Juancho Triviño, Ina Raymundo, Dina Bonnevie, Ahron Villena, Enzo Pineda, Dion Ignacio, John Lloyd Cruz, Benjamin Alves, Derrick Monasterio, Paulo Avelino, EJ Falcon, David Licauco, Ken Chan, Paolo Serrano, Enrico Cuenca, Ivan Dorschner, Rhea Santos, Zen Hernandez, Pinky Webb, Mai Rodriguez, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Alex Santos, Mario Dumaual, Gilbert Remulla, Emil Sumangil, John Consulta, including Julius Babao and his wife Christine Bersola-Babao, Ronwaldo and Kristoffer Martin, the sons of Coco Martin and Sandino Martin, the brother of Coco Martin, Mikoy Morales, the son of Vicky Morales, twin brothers Rodjun and Rayver Cruz, featuring Master Boy Abunda, Emcee Mo Twister, DJ Willie Revillame, Captain Lourd de Veyra and president Noynoy Aquino as Santa Claus.
The Christmas Station ID also features special guests like Cristine Reyes, Masahiro Inoue, Yutaka Kobayashi, Masato Uchiyama, Kimito Totani and Takamasa Suga who are the actors from the 2006 movie Minority Report that make a cameo when filming The Real Slim Shady music video from Frozen, including Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the It's Showtime hosts Ryan Agoncillo, Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz and Billy Crawford who are known as "The Imagination Movers" which was based on the show of the same name from Nick Jr. and South Korean boy band Momoland as a 9-member boy band during their pre-debut similar to the Happy Music Video from Toy Story 3 when they are in school uniform. Somehow, The Christmas Station ID also features Blue the Puppy who is the mascot of TV5 and the character from Disney’s Blues Clues. But eventually, The Christmas Station ID featured an explosion where Ivan Dorschner accidentally sliced a bomb with an Excalibur sword which nearly exploded on him which also broke the fourth wall by accident. However, The opening features the voice of Peter Musgñi who is the voiceover of ABS-CBN whenever he narrates about Christmas and even the people they lost which made people cry or even depressed.
Sadly, The Christmas Station ID did not feature Regine Velasquez because she was busy handling with her son Nate Alcasid. Also, Belle Mariano, Charlie Dizon, Dominic Roco and his younger brother Felix Roco don’t appear in the Christmas Station ID as well. But this is the only posthumous Christmas Station ID because Ram Revilla passed away in December 30, 2009 when he was murdered at the streets and Marky Cielo passed away in November 30, 2012 due to a cardiac arrest. Somehow, The Christmas Station ID was recorded in December 1, 2009 during the Christmas Station ID of TV5 in 2009 which was “Happy Happy Kidsmas” but this was supposed to be the 2009 Christmas Station ID of TV5 to feature the crew members of ABS-CBN, GMA and TV5. Sadly, it was scrapped out for unknown reasons.
Somehow, The Christmas Station ID will be re-used in 2013 which will be known as “DisyembRegalo”.
