Spencer Reid x plus size reader
You and Spencer have been at each other’s throats for months and the team is sick of it. So while on a case in a conveniently tiny town, they do something to fix it
Warnings: usual cm warnings (kidnapping, murder, serial killer), enemies to lovers, one bed trope (i’m not sorry), confessions, little bit of partial nudity, Spencer and reader are horny for each other and neither know how to deal with it, implied smut WC: 2.4k

If there was one thing that was a guarantee in this life, it was the DOCTOR (as he always liked to remind you) Spencer Reid would not keep his fucking mouth shut. You used to think it was endearing the way he so passionately spoke about anything and everything but after the 30th time he interrupted you (in front of every mind you), it got annoying real fast. And somehow, it was even worse today.
A series of kidnappings occurring in a small town in the middle of buttfuck nowhere that exactly replicated the town’s urban legend about a vengeful spirit killing those who tried to leave without offering sacrifice. Given your extensive knowledge on the development of folklore specifically tied to serial killers, it was an unspoken agreement that you would be taking the lead on the case.
But Reid had a very different idea.
“This is obviously someone using the story to get rid of people they have a vendetta against.” You fought the urge to roll your eyes at the young doctor. His lean body blocked the column of victim photos as he pointed to the map of the town beside it. He had drawn over several places with a red marker and although the abduction sites did fall into his contracted triangle of a comfort zone, something in your gut told you it was more than that.
“Look, I’m going to keep saying it. This goes way deeper. This has been happening for generations. 2002, 1985, 1968, hell even all the way back to the fucking 1820s! It’s either all 17 year olds getting killed or 17 people killed total each year it occurs, with it switching each time.” Spencer made a sound that was almost a scoff but with Hotch’s steely gaze fixed on the both of you, he covered it up by clearing his throat.
“Mark Adin was 18.”
“He turned 18 the day he died, Reid! And if you looked at his birth certificate, you’d see that his time of death was an hour before he would actually turn 18.”
“If you would just-“
“Alright!” Derek placed a firm hand onto Spencer’s shoulder, making him stumble slightly. “We get it, you’re both freakishly smart but I think it’s late and we all need some sleep.” He shot you a look as you crossed your arms over your chest, red hot anger and frustration still bubbling up inside you.
It always ended like that, one of the other members of your team stepped in before insults could be hurled (it’s happened once or twice before) and suggested a break while you and Spencer continued to glare at each other. He continuously undermined your theories and in return, you questioned his intelligence.
“I’m sure Y/L/N will realise how ridiculous she’s being after some undeserved rest. I mean, when is she ever right.” Your stomach dropped and Derek’s smile dimmed for a second before he wound an arm around the young doctor’s shoulders and guided him out of the conference room the team had commandeered far quicker than he normally did.
You opened your mouth to shout something back at him but Emily grabbed your forearm before you could. “It’s not worth it.” You met her gaze and quickly deflated.
“Yeah okay.” She gave you a soft smile as you both left the room together, missing the weighty glance Hotch and Rossi shared.
——————
“I can’t believe that you and JJ are doing this to me,” you whined, hiking up the strap of your go-bag higher on your shoulder, “you promised last time that we had to share rooms that it would be you and me. I don’t want to get stuck with Hotch again, he snores like a fucking freight train.” Emily poked your ribs as she passed by, shooting you a mischievous grin.
“You were too busy flirting with Reid to notice us making sleeping arrangements.” You huffed and followed her out of the elevator.
“I wasn’t FlIrTinG with him and by the way, that’s disgusting you even thought of that.” The hallway was dead silent save for the faint buzz of the ice machine at the very end.
“Yeah, that’s definitely why you totally weren’t checking out his ass while he was setting up the white board.”
“Emily!” You hissed but she only laughed in response.
“Come on, it’s so obvious that you like him! This childish rivalry you have is just sexual tension so for all of our sakes can you please just fuck him already so we can actually do our jobs.”
“Alright maybe I would like him if he wasn’t such an ass to me all the time.” You conceded, earning you a sly grin from your friend as you both came to a stop outside your hotel room door. “But! He constantly undermines me and makes me feel like shit so it’s never gonna happen.”
Emily stood by her own door, her key-card already in hand. “And you love to rile him up. So, never say never.” And with that, she slipped into her room, shutting the door before you could retort.
You rolled your eyes as you unlocked your own door and stepped in. The shower was already running but what mainly concerned you was the lack of a second bed. You sighed heavily, dropping your bag on the empty side away from the door.  You were too exhausted and frustrated to even be mad about having to share both a room and a bed with your boss. Too exhausted in fact to notice the sweater on the chair in the corner couldn’t have possibly belonged to the older man.
Quickly, you stripped down to your underwear and slipped on your sleep clothes, figuring you could wake up early and shower before heading back to the police station. You sighed as you crawled beneath the sheets, the worn mattress immediately cradling your soft body.
Your eyelids had just begun to flutter shut when the water turned off. You turned onto your other side in anticipation of the bright light from the bathroom fully waking you up but what you didn’t expect was the accompaniment of the one voice you hadn’t wanted to hear until you had at least 6 hours of sleep and a massive coffee.
“What the hell?”
“Fuck me.” You sat up and took in the sight of a very damp Spencer Reid wearing only a towel around his waist. You refused to look down at his naked torso (no matter how badly you wanted to).
“You’re not Morgan.” He retorted.
“And here I was thinking you were a genius. Do you usually walk around half-naked with Derek?” He didn’t dignify you with a response this time, only grabbing his bag and retreating to the bathroom once more. As soon as the door shut, you launched yourself at your phone.
<I’m going to fucking kill you
>We’ve all packed noise cancelling headphones so don’t hold back ;)
>BTW before you even ask, there’s no more rooms available. Small towns are just great aren’t they
<I’ll get you back for this
>Sweet dreams
You could scream as you shut off your phone, Emily’s texts disappearing, leaving you staring at your reflection on the black screen. You should’ve known something was up when Hotch insisted that everyone take separate SUVs to the hotel under the guise of everyone splitting up first thing in the morning. The man was a fucking menace.
The mattress groaned as you laid back down, far closer to the edge this time. If Spencer took your hint and just left you alone for the rest of the night, you would consider it an overwhelming success. This time when the door opened, the light was already off, letting you breathe a sigh of relief.
The bed dipped and your body tensed for a moment. You waited for him to speak, but when he didn’t, you finally relaxed. In the silence and darkness of the room, you could pretend that you were anywhere else.
“Will you stop hogging the blankets?” You knew this peace couldn’t have possibly lasted.
“If you had turned on the heater I wouldn’t have to.” You grumbled but still released your hold on the covers just enough for him to take some more of it.
“Not my fault you’re always freezing for no reason.” The blanket lifted from your leg as Spencer fully wrapped himself up. You sighed but decided not to pick a fight, Emily’s words still circling your mind. Instead you wrapped your arms around your stomach as you drew your legs up, curling around yourself. You just wanted to sleep.
“What, no witty comeback?” You sighed heavily and squeezed your eyes shut.
“I get that I don’t ‘deserve to rest’ but I’m exhausted Spencer. Neither of us want to be here so can we just try to get some sleep and leave each other alone.” Thankfully, he stayed silent, for a moment at least.
“You called me Spencer.”
“Oh my god, can you please just let me sleep? Yes I called you Spencer, it’s your name isn’t it?” You snapped although you knew what he meant. You had never even referred to him by his first name in the almost 18 months since you had been on the team, just the same as he did with you.
“I’m sorry.”
“Fine.” You pressed your face into the thin pillow beneath your head, determined to finally fall asleep.
“No, Y/N I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have said what I did. There’s a lot of things I shouldn’t have said to you.” The bedsprings screamed in the quiet of the room and suddenly you could feel the gentle brush of Spencer’s breath along the back of your neck. You suppressed a shiver as best you could. “You don’t deserve to be treated like that.”
“Why are you bringing this up now? Are you trying to get laid or something?” Your tone held no bite but you could still feel the way he flinched. A sour taste bloomed in your mouth. “Sorry. For what it’s worth, I’ve been an asshole to you too.”
Tentatively, you rolled onto your back, your shoulder now brushing his. Soft light bled into the room from the light in the hallway, dimly letting you see his silhouette. Already, Spencer’s hair was a mess, different strands sticking up or to his face. His right hand rested on his chest while the left was by his side, barely a fraction of an inch from touching your own. He turned his head, making eye-contact with you for probably the first time since you had known him.
“Why— What did I do to make you hate me so much?” You muttered, suddenly unable to speak any louder than a whisper. You watched his chest hitch and then deflate.
“You didn’t do anything. I guess— it was easier to hate you than admit the truth.” The warmth of his skin made you breathe a sigh of relief as he pressed his hand to yours.
“And what is the truth Spencer?” Even in the limited light, you could see the way his eyes dropped to your lips. His lithe fingers curled around your wrist and gently lifted your hands so that it rested between your heads.
“That when I’m around you, I can’t concentrate on anything besides how beautiful you are, how intelligent, how capable. You’ve had me wrapped around your finger since the moment we met and it’s angered me.” You didn’t realise how close you were to him until the tip of his nose bumped against yours. You sucked in a breath but it did nothing to ease the floating feeling in your stomach.
“Why’s that?” You were both now on your sides in the middle of the bed, on the edge of something more, if only one of you would fall first.
“Because I knew that the second I accepted it, there was nothing I could do to stop myself from falling for you, even if you would never feel the same.”
You smirked. “And here I was thinking you were the smartest man alive, Dr Reid.” He pressed his lips to your knuckles with a smile and before you could tell him that he was wrong and quite frankly dumb for not seeing through you (like everyone else on the team did), his hand was on your jaw and his lips on yours.
You moaned into his mouth when he leaned onto you. You grabbed at his back under his shirt, your nails digging into the surprisingly well-defined muscles along his spine. Spencer’s head tilted, encouraging the kiss to become more passionate as his tongue traced your bottom lip. You tangled your fingers in his messy hair, tugging at it slightly as your mind began to go fuzzy with the lack of oxygen.
Spencer smiled against your lips, placing two or three more soft kisses against them before rolling onto his back once more, leaving you breathless beside him. You followed him down, putting your head on his pillow. You stole another peck from him as he clutched at your wide hips.
“I can’t believe how long it’s taken us to finally talk this out. We were both being really stupid.” You giggled against his now swollen lips.
“Yeah we have.” Something tugged at your mind, breaking you away from the warm bubble of affection you were lost in.
You shot up. “What, what is it? Did I do something wrong?” Spencer practically pleaded, his hand tightly gripping at your thigh.
“You’re right, we were both being stupid! We’re both correct. What if it’s not just one unsub, but a whole family of them? 17 years between killings, Spencer!” Now it was his turn to sit up, his brown eyes wide with realisation.
“It’s a coming of age ritual. The unsub is killing people they know but under the guidance of the person that did it before them.”
“So the place where they’re keeping the victims before they kill them should be in the comfort zone and it should line up with all the past ones!” He beamed at you. “But maybe we should wait till morning to tell the others, they do need their beauty sleep.”
“And we don’t?” His hand moved higher, slipping beneath your sleep shorts, making you shudder.
“Definitely not.” You swung your leg over his hips and sat on his thighs, kissing him once more.

So I accidentally deleted this request but I have written it so sorry to whoever wrote it.
Request : Okok, Teen!Male!reader x Spencer Ried (platonic obvs) when reader ends up getting mixed up a crime/murder in the drug scene. They aren't the unsub but they struggle with addiction and has an ally cat type attitude so it makes it difficult to get any information out of him. Spencer is like a father figure and they start to get close, helping reader through out the case/ recovery.
I love this idea
Third person pov...
Spencer Reid and Derek Morgan arrive on scene, there is a serial killer runnng around kidnapping upstanding people then killing people by overdosing them on different drugs.
The latest victim was a mother with two children under the ages of 10, with no history of drug use she is currently the 5th victim, where they found her was in a dumpster in ohio.
"Looks like the rest of the victims" Says Derek as he kneels next to the body of Samantha Doyle. Spencer nods and looks around the scene. "As well as the dump site, he threw her away like trash." He says, as he looks he notices a boy looking no older then 15 being talked to by the police.
Confused Spence leaves Morgan and walks over to one of the police officers. "Hey excuse me, whats he doing here?" He asks nodding over at the boy and officer.
The office next to him looks over. "Oh yeah him, he's been hanging around sayin' he saw something. Don't bother with 'im he's an addict got loads of them here" he tells the agent, Spencer thanks the man but doesn't take his eyes of the teen.
The officer just sighs and leaves the boy, he was watching with intense curiosity. The boy had messy hair and dark circles under his eyes, giving the impression of a troubled soul.
Spencer's mind immediately went into profiling mode, trying to figure out the boy's story, he walked over to the boy and introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Dr. Spencer Reid. And you are?"
The young man shrugged his shoulders tapping his hand nervously. "Y/N" he says bearly over a mumble but Spencer hears him. "Well Y/N, did you see anything here?" He asked.
The young detective immediately noticed the troubled look in (Y/n)'s eyes, and he could see the fear and guilt written all over his face.
Spencer's empathetic nature kicked in, and he knew that there was more to this young man than meets the eye.
(Y/n) was like a wounded alley cat, always on edge and unwilling to trust anyone. The 15 year old didn't say anything. "How about you come to the station to talk" Says the genius.
Y/N thinks before nodding, either way they were going to make him talk might as well get it over with, soon the boy is sat in the back of thr SUV with two Agents.
They try and talk to him more but only get a few words out bef they take him to the interrogation room to talk, as Y/N sits and waits he thinks over his life.
He's been hooked on drugs since he was 12 when he was 10 his Mother died leaving him with his abusive Father, he would kick little Y/N around all day until the boy finally turned to drugs to dull the pain.
It's worked all those years and he's hooked, finally when he was 14 he ran away and had beeb living on the streets, pick pocketing people who walk past him.
He met many different people throughout the last year, not many of them were nice most were arsehole and criminals, but last night traumatised him.
He was in his usual place counting the money he managed to pick pocket of some people, when he heard something. He saw a guy dressed in dark clothes throughing something in the dumpster.
Y/N didn't bother with it, but he got curious and stuck behind a dumpster and got a pretty good look at what was happening, his E/C eyes widened in shock.
It was a body, the man was throwing her into the dumpster, Y/N ducks into the darkness when the guy turns around, he gets a good look at his face before he leaves in a truck.
It was to dark to see the number plate, Y/N walks closer to the body, her lifeless eyes stare into his dark tired ones, she looked alot like his Mother.
Shivering he closed her eyes and left to go back to his place where he sleeps and tried to forget what he saw.
The door to the room opens bringing the teen back into the real world, Spencer had told everyone to stay there thay he would handle it.
He closed the door and sat in the chair oppos the boy, Y/N wasnt ha dcuffed and coukd ove but didn't he kept sat down.
Spencer decis to take a different approach, he reaches into his pocket and takes out a pack of cards.
"Mind if I play a game of solitaire?" Spencer asked, trying to lighten the mood To his surprise, the young man slowly reached out and took the cards. As they played, Spencer asked more questions, trying to get some information about the crime and the drug scene in the area.
As he played Y/N became a little more reaced but was still on guard and keeping Spencer at arms lengt.
Y/N still didn't reveal much, but Spencer could tell he was holding back. He also noticed the subtle tremors in Y/Ns hands and the needle marks on his arm.
He soon realized that Y/N was not the unsub, but rather a lost soul struggling with addiction and trauma, this brought him back to when he was addicted to delaudid.
After a few games Y/N began opening up about what he sawast night, he told him everything he remembered, this helped the team alot tk catch the bastard.
Throughout the case Without judgment, Spencer offered to help Y/N get clean and get out of the dangerous world of drugs. With the help of Y/N the team manages to catch the killer sooner than they had hoped.
As the case progressed, Spencer and the H/C teen grew closer. They spent long nights talking and playing cards, and Spencer could see the potential in the young man. He was intelligent and quick-witted, but his addiction was holding him back.
Y/N was also hesitant to trust anyone, but he slowly opened up to Spencer, after having an awful relationship with his bio father seeing him Spencer as a father figure scared him, Spence became more invested in the teens recovery and helping him turn his life around.
With the help of the team, they were able to track down the murder suspect, Y/N even played a crucial role in gathering information, using his 'alley cat attitude' to his advantage.
As the case came to a close, Spencer and Y/N celebrated with a game of cards and a heartfelt conversation. Y/N thanked Spencer for his help and guidance, and Spencer promised to always be there for him.
From that day on, Y/N focused on his recovery with the support of his new family at the BAU. He still had his struggles, but with Spencer by his side, he knew he could overcome them.
Spencer, on the other hand, learned a valuable lesson about not judging a book by its cover. Y/N may have been mixed up in the drug scene, but he was more than just an addict. He was a survivor.
The end!
Hope you liked this oneshot, slowly getting through these requests. Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes.

"Whoever let Chris Argent buy the Daily Planet can rot in hell" Stiles cursed. Derek grabbed his hand.
"He won't fire you, you won a Pulitzer prize" He whispered. "But what about you Der?"
"I have other activities" He winked. "Mr. Hale? Can I see you in my office?" Chris Argent called out. Derek kissed Stiles' head and walked off
------
"Are you fuckin kidding me?!" Stiles kicked the vending machine, Derek tilted it forward just a bit so he could get his candy.
"He fired you and acts all sad about it like he's not in charge and decides everything!"
"Calm down baby, this won't be that bad" "Don't tell me to calm down" Stiles glared. Derek raised his hands in surrender. Stiles was scarier than most of the villains he fought sometimes.
His phone rang and he answered it with a frown.
"Hey Cora" Stiles tried not to listen. Derek dropped his phone and went still. "Derek?" Stiles grabbed his head. There weren't a lot of this that made his husband go into shock.
He picked up the phone. "What's wrong?" "Stiles?" Cora sniffed. "What happened?"
"Laura's dead"
------
Derek felt like a child again, when Talia died. The only thing keeping him from collapsing or going into a Kryptonian rage was Stiles hugging him.
"A car accident? Aunt Laura wasn't a bad driver" Jackson smacked Scott on the head.
"Ow!"
"Derek" A old high school friend named Erica Reyes hugged him close. "I'm so sorry"
"Thanks Erica" He said in a small voice. "So they know what happened?" "My dad's looking into it" Stiles said.
Derek didn't even listen, he looked at his boys and just sighed.
"When are we going home?" Eli whined. Jackson pulled his little brother into a hug.
"Soon bud"
Derek sighed and took off his glasses covering his eyes and rubbing his forehead. "This is stressing me out. Peter's not even here"
Stiles hugged him again. "Maybe he's mourning in his own way"
------
"Jackson, we're gonna get in trouble. Dad and Papa always told us to stay away from the barn" "Don't you wanna know why? Besides Eli would tell Dad and then we'd all be in trouble"
Eli stuck his tongue out. Jackson turned on his phone flashlight and looked around.
"Hmm yes this is a barn" "Shut up Scott" "Look!" Eli ran off. "Eli!" Jackson heard a strange humming and grabbed a crowbar. "Jackie!" "Scotty" Jackson replied mockingly.
He broke the lock and opened the door and climbed down. "We're gonna be so grounded"
"What the..." Jackson spotted a spaceship. Eli whimpered and hugged into Scott's side. Jackson picked up what looked like a silver rock. "This is weird"
Scott touched it, Eli did too.
Jackson went nauseous and went back up, Scott followed carrying their little brother. "I feel really sick" "It's the guilt getting to you because we disobeyed Dad at Aunt Laura's funeral"
"Shut up!" Jackson screamed, a sonic wave shooting out from him, causing a support beam in the barn to collapse, sending metal pipes crashing down. Scott immediately put himself on top of his brothers.
Derek heard everything and ran off.
Stiles bolted after him. "Boys!" Derek moved the pipes with little effort. Scott was completely unharmed. "Are you okay?" Stiles picked them up and hugged Eli.
"Yeah" Jackson said, Scott nodding. "Good" Derek grabbed them both by their hair. "Because you are grounded for a week for breaking a rule and almost getting your brother hurt!"
"Ow ow ow" "Dad that hurts!" Derek dragged the twins out. "You're not grounded monkey" Stiles assured. "You were gonna tell us anyways right?" He grinned.
"Yeah!"

Hear The Wheels As They Roll by crossroadswrite
(2/2 I 44,919 I Teen I Sterek)
“You can’t be here. This is private property,” someone calls out and for some reason that voice sounds painfully familiar.
When it hits him why, Stiles almost chokes with the realization, “Derek Hale,” he says, unbelievably happy because he remembers Derek when they were young.
Derek looks grumpier, sadder, angrier. Stiles can’t really fault him for that. He also looks surprised that Stiles knows who he is. He squint/glares suspiciously at him, his nostrils flare for a second before he widens his eyes almost dramatically.
“Stiles,” he says quietly, like he can’t really believe it.
Stiles beams, “Yeah, you remember me!”

Crush
Finale
Part 1 is here
Part 2 is here
Part 3 is here
Part 4 is here
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader
Plot: There is nothing quite like realizing you're in love with your best friend when it's too late right?
Warnings: mentions of hospitals, , mentions of someone being shot, mentions of blood, fluff because i felt like it
Tumblr media
"Hi."
Y/N turns to glance at the door, and when she makes eye contact with Spencer she softly smiles. Penelope stands up from her place beside the bed and gently brushes his upper arm when she steps past him. "Hey, boyfriend." Spencer chuckles slightly and crosses his arms:" Yeah, sorry about that. I just wanted to make sure that the doctor would call me as soon as there were any updates." "Don't apologize."
Y/N can see them, the puffed red skin underneath his tired eyes that nearly completely disguise his dark circles. "Are you okay?", she questions and furrows her forehead, he just nods:" Yeah, don't worry." The young woman points at the free chair:" You know, that I am always going to worry about you. I can't help it."
Spencer does what he's told and once he sits down Y/N holds out her hand for him to hold. He swallows thickly, almost as if he is holding back tears. "By the way, did you do something to your hair? Looks great."
"Why are you so nice to me?", he blurts out, looking down at his feet. Y/N's hand is still reaching out to him but it's like he cannot even look at it:" You almost died." "But it wasn't your fault, Spence." He doesn't respond, instead, he drops his head into his hands. "Spencer?" "I could have done more but instead I let you bleed out on that stupid floor of that freak's basement."
God, her blood was so fucking shiny, sometimes he could still smell it. Yesterday, he dropped a coffee mug because he was convinced that it was filled with blood. He told Jennifer, that it slipped out of his hands, but he knows that he wasn't very convincing.
Y/N looks at him:" I know that not being in control of certain situations freaks you out, I get that. But I really wish that you could see the truth in what I'm telling you. This wasn't your fault." Spencer raises his head. "Remember when we were at Emily's place a couple of weeks ago and we were playing Monopoly, and you got so mad about always landing on Derek's fields."Spencer playfully rolls his eyes and scoffs:" I lost virtually all my money, because of those stupid train stations." He shakes his head, and for the first time, a little smile emerges on his lips. "That wasn't your fault either."
"Well, I wouldn't compare that to-.", he pauses when he notices the look on Y/N's face. He swallows thickly, before reaching out to hold her hand. His thumb draws sluggish circles on her smooth skin and he concentrates on the fact that it's warm. Her hand is warm and she is alive. Spencer takes a deep breath:" I'm glad you're still here." "Yeah, me too."
For a few minutes neither of them says anything before Spencer clears his throat:" You know, I wanted to ask you something back then. When we were at Emily's place. Actually, I've been meaning to ask you this for a while now." His free hand nervously runs through his hair. "What is it?"
"Would you maybe go out with me?" Y/N opens her mouth, but when no words come out she closes it again. Her eyes scan his features. God, he is so handsome. He has always been that way. Her beautiful boy. She nods:" Yeah, I'd love to."

Scar Tissue
Scar the Martyr marks Joey Jordison’s first new music since the death of his Slipknot songwriting partner, Paul Gray. It’s helped heal his wounds and got him excited for the future…
Words: Paul Travers Photo: Paul Harries (drive link)
Joey Jordison and Paul Gray were in many ways the beating, bloody heart right at the centre of Slipknot. They were both in there from the start. They named the band. They were also the core writing team. Joey once said that when he was writing, he’d always just know where a Paul idea would fit just right. When the bassist died in May 2010, Joey lost an important piece of his musical puzzle.
Some of Slipknot’s scars have healed, through their live shows, including an incredible headline slot at this year’s Download. But now, Joey is finally flexing his creative muscles again, with Scar The Martyr. It’s not the new Slipknot album, but their self-titled debut is the first new music the drummer has written since the death of his best friend and songwriting partner. For Joey, though, Paul Gray’s influence still permeates everything he does.
“It’s always going to be difficult,” he sighs. “It will never not be hard to write without him, because he was my partner and my best friend. But there’s a huge part of Paul in me. I know what he’s thinking, I know when he’s upset, I know when he’s happy; I can read his emotions. This might sound weird to people, but I still talk to paul. He still talks to me and it’s spooky. He might not be here in the flesh, but he’s still here in the spirit. When I get stuck I go, ‘What would you do now?’ and he tells me. He helps me when I get stuck.”
That songwriting partnership might still survive in an ethereal fashion, but Scar The Martyr is a very different beast to Slipknot. The album is dense and dark, taking in post-punk atmospherics and tempering its noise-flecked industrial clatter with vibrant melodies and surging synths.
“Do I think it will surprise people?” Joey muses. “Perhaps not so much as other things I’ve done. When I put out the Murderdolls record (2002’s Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls), that was a completely left-field move from what I was known for. But for the record I do think that Slipknot fans will totally dig this album.”
That is good. Because the seeds for Scar The Martyr were sown when Joey began the painful process of trying to pick up writing for Slipknot’s long-awaited fifth album.
“I went into the studio and wrote a load of songs for Slipknot. A load of songs,” he says. “I wrote about 30 songs and the stems of another 20, so that’s 50 songs. But when I realised Slipknot wasn’t going to be happening for a while I stayed in the studio and started this.”
Hang on, 50 Slipknot songs? How come this isn’t going on the new record, then?
“The timing just wasn’t right,” admits Joey. “We have to all be on the same page at the same time, but I still have those songs ready for the new Slipknot album. Once we get together we’ll tear them to pieces and see what works.”
So you’re saying the album’s written?
“We might use one song or we might use all of ‘em. I don’t know what the fuck we’ll do.”
Okay. So did Scar The Martyr allow you to make an album without the pressure that the new Slipknot record would?
“There is less pressure,” says Joey. “There are no expectations, so yeah, it’s a lot easier. But I’m not sitting in there just jacking off. This band is now a part of me, just like Slipknot is.”
With the music written, Joey assembled an impressive bunch of ex-men, with Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour) on guitars, and Chris Vrenna (ex-Nine Inch Nails) on keyboards. Joey handled drums and bass himself and recruited a largely unknown vocalist, Henry Derek.
“I did want a vocalist that no-one would know,” Joey explains. “Someone put me in touch with Henry and I sent him four songs. When he returned them, I was blown away – he was totally who I was looking for.”
Henry was given free reign on the lyrics. As a consequence, Joey isn’t willing to discuss the themes on the album. The drummer does, however, reveal that much of the turmoil and anguish of the past three years has been channelled into this new project.
“It’s different from anything I’ve ever done and I think you can tell the emotion in the music,” he nods. “I was in a really different place when I was writing this stuff. It’s not just anger, although there is some in there. There’s reflection, beauty – all kinds of different moods.”
And how is Joey Jordison feeling right now?
“I’m ecstatic,” he beams. “I’m really excited. Whatever happens in the long-term isn’t the focus right now, but we’re going to be around for a while.”
That’s good news in one respect, but where it leaves Slipknot’s immediate future is still unclear.
“I can’t tell you an exact timeline,” Joey shrugs. “Stone Sour’s still out [on tour] and I’ve got this record, but [Slipknot] are still playing shows to keep in touch with our fans. It’s just a matter of waiting until it feels right for Slipknot to get back in there.”
What do you think it’ll be like when that happens?
“Whenever it is, it’s gonna be the perfect time, because we’ve never had this much material, ever,” enthuses the drummer. “I just got three song ideas the other day from Corey [Taylor], and they’re fucking awesome. Corey’s primarily been a lyricist in the band, and it’s cool to see someone who doesn’t normally write the music getting so excited about making Slipknot’s next record.”
So Slipknot is still for the future. But for now, Joey has Scar The Martyr to immerse himself in. You get the feeling that somewhere out there, his songwriting partner and best friend would approve.
Scar The Martyr’s self-titled album is out on September 30 via Roadrunner
We’ve seen it live!
Joey unveiled his new band in New York on August 10. We got the first look! Review: Hardeep Phull Live photo: Shaun Regan
It only takes a few songs of Scar The Martyr’s first headline show to realise that Joey Jordison is not trying to create Slipknot Mk II. Instead, the band are attempting to carve out a sound that has more in common with industrial pioneers like Ministry and Killing Joke through songs such as Never Forgive Never Forget.
Although the broader scope and ambition is impressive, it’s the traditionally heavier songs that Scar The Martyr perform more confidently. With it’s (sic) siren-like opening riff and relentless pace, the first single Blood Host is already a crowd-pleaser, if only because it’s the only song anyone has heard to date, while the crushingly heavy finale of Last Night On Earth is where the band give a tantalising glimpse of how good they could turn out to be.
So, with Slipknot still on hold, this is Joey’s main bag for a bit. Us maggots can wait a little longer, as Scar The Martyr are a brilliant distraction.

i’ll stay for as long as you need me to.
in which florence shepherd loses her brother, and jackson avery is the air she needs.
A/N: hi! i hope you enjoy this fic. please read and consider following me and sending requests. this is unedited and 955 words. 🤍
Tumblr media
“Florence, how much longer do you think you have in here?” Jackson whisks into the OR, mask over his face.
Florence Shepherd does not look up, her eyes trained on the patient in front of her.
“Hell if I know,” she scoffs out. “It was going so well, until it wasn’t.”
When Jackson doesn’t respond, Florence shrugs. “An hour, tops. Why? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, of course, Flo. Mind if I watch?”
Florence glances up, but only for a second. “I never mind. J, are you okay?”
Jackson scoffs. “Yeah, just, yeah. I’ll stay out of your way, promise.”
Florence focuses back on her work, she loves Jackson, he’s been her best friend for as long as she can remember, but sometimes, she simply does not understand him.
The youngest Shepherd continues her surgery, Jackson stands in the corner, shifting uncomfortably every so often. Florence isn’t sure what’s wrong with him, maybe nothing, but she doesn’t care, she enjoys the company of her best friend.
Florence completes her surgery just before the hour mark, assigning an intern to close the young boy up. “C’mon, J, you can tell me what the hell has got you so anxious in the corner of my OR,” Florence teases as she walks out of the OR, and begins scrubbing out.
It’s when Jackson says nothing that Florence begins to worry. As she scrubs her hands, she looks to him, “What happened?”
“Just-uh-keep scrubbing out,” he offers, scratching his head.
“J, what the hell is wrong. You’re scaring me!” Florence turns the water off and faces him.
Florence studies his face. The way his forehead creases and his lips are pressed shut. His eyes are filled with the despair and sorrow she is far too used to. “Who?”
Jackson reaches for her, but she pulls away. “Who, Jackson?”
She can’t bring herself to say the word, but she doesn’t have to, he knows.
“Flo, please. Come sit with me.”
“Is it Amy or Mer?” Florence paces the room, her breathing rising.
Jackson doesn’t answer, so Florence keeps talking. “No, Amy is on call. She’s in the room next to me. Is it Meredith? Or is it Derek? It can’t possibly be Derek, he’s too fucking smart to die. And he’s supposed to be in D.C. meeting with the president, or whatever.”
Florence inhales, stops pacing, and looks at Jackson. “But Mer said the White House called and he hadn’t arrived.”
Jackson reaches out for her again, but she steps back. “No, I’m- You’re kidding, right? There’s no fucking way.”
Jackson finally manages to grab her hand. She stares at the door though, not meeting his eye, or even turning towards him.
“How?” She shudders out. “He’s too damn smart, Jackson. How?”
Jackson swallows thickly and pulls her arm, tugging her towards him. “Do you really want me to tell you?”
Florence laughs. “He’s my brother, of course I do.”
“There was an accident, he was taking a different route to the airport. He stopped to help them. After the ambulance came, he got back in his car, a semi came out of nowhere and hit him head on.”
She stays silent for a moment, “Did he die on scene?”
Jackson shakes his head, though she still isn’t facing him. “He made it to the hospital. They didn’t do a head CT and he had a brain bleed, I think. The police went to the house and took Meredith there. She waited, then they..”
Florence’s laugh cuts him off. “Meredith waited and then pulled the plug on my brother? Without calling anyone?”
“Let’s go somewhere more private, Flo. You can be with Amelia and..”
“Derek survived a shooting, nope, two shootings, then a plane crash. And he died because of a semi?” Florence’s laughter grows louder, before fading into sobs.
She goes back and forth between laughs and sobs, the weight of the world sitting on her shoulders, as she gasps for more air. She can’t breathe, her heart is pounding and her lungs are being filled with water. She’s going to die, too. And then who will Amy have? And Meredith? And their poor mother. Two kids in one day. She’ll be devastated.
She doesn’t realize she’s on the ground until Jacksons’ arms wrap around her. They’re tight and secure, his hand fans through her hair, whispering comforting words. She wonders if the people assisting with her surgery can see her. She wonders what they think, she wonders if they know Derek’s dead, and she wonders if they even care.
They have to care, though. Derek Shepherd is dead, and everybody cared about Derek Shepherd.
She sobs until the sobs turn into incoherent hiccups, until Jackson carries her into an on-call room, laying her gently on a bed and curling in beside her. She lays against his chest, hearing his heartbeat. She cries again, because Derek’s heart isn’t beating, and she wonders if hers is, and if the water in her lungs is ever going to kill her.
“Who made the call not to get a head C.T.?” She wonders aloud. “What kind of person makes that kind of call?”
Jackson shakes his head. “I don’t know, Flo. I don’t know.”
“I hate them.”
He nods. “I know.”
She sniffles and pulls away from him. “You probably have somewhere to be, don’t you?’
He shakes his head, pulling her back in, and pressing a kiss to the crown of her head. “Nowhere.”
“Then you’ll stay? I want to sleep, but I know I’m going to wake up in the morning and remember this is real, and it’s going to hurt all over again. And I am so scared.”
“I’ll stay for as long as you need me to.”

March Fic Rec
Guys it's still Sunday! Anyway, March is here witch mean spring is here! As much as I love the winter I also love watching the twas and flowers bloom. That everyone has a great month!
between the click of the light and the start of the dream by thepsychicclam - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 105192, sterek)
A twig snaps, and then Stiles hears breathing and the rustle of leaves. He strains to get a better glimpse into the darkness, but it’s pointless. There’s nothing but a black void.
It's Stiles' senior year, and he's trying to concentrate on normal things - like the lacrosse championship, spring break, prom, graduation (and definitely not Derek) - when he starts having nightmares and waking up in the middle of nowhere. Oh yeah, and he's being haunted by a hag. Great.
This Might Be Irony by thepsychicclam - (Rating: Mature, Words: 38340, sterek)
Stiles and Derek have been close friends since the Hale siblings moved in next door after their parents' death. But Derek's in the popular group, he's a star baseball player, and he dates popular Pep Squad captain Jennifer Blake. Stiles doesn't have any of that, just his skateboard and a hopeless crush on Derek (oh yeah, and his Vote Lydia Martin Prom Queen button). As prom and the baseball state championship grow closer, Stiles and Derek start rekindling their friendship.
And it all begins with two white boards.
Didn't See That Coming by knittersrevolt - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 83838, sterek)
Stiles leaves Beacon Hills in the dust after he catches his husband cheating on him.
He finds his way to New York where he starts working for the Hale House Nursery, accidentally adopts a werewolf baby (through no fault of his own thank-you-very-much), and somehow starts training to be an Exorcist Emissary. So, in general, life was going good.
Then he hears that demons have found their way into his hometown. Can he face his inner demons and go back to save the day?
Wolves with a Spark by AMatchInWater - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 58089, sterek)
Talia lets out a shocked gasp, "your eyes. They're purple." The Alpha is practically oozing with excitement. Stiles hisses, as the fingers touching the Nemeton start to sting as markings etch themselves into his knuckles and a small one on his wrist that looks like a Y but the stem goes up between the v part. "What the-?" Stiles yells out in pain, yanking his hand off the bark, the back of his left forearm feeling like it's been set on fire. A white fox with vibrant blue eyes burns into his flesh. "Mom?" He asks again, she died when he was young, but the Omega remembers what she looked like fully shifted. The spitting image of the tattoo forming on his skin. "What's happening?" Frantic eyes meet Talia's and Derek's. "You're a spark." Talia whispers in wonder. "You have magic, Stiles."
OR
Stiles moves in with the Hales after his father passes away. Presenting as an Omega and then a spark years later. He's hopelessly head over heels for Derek and wants to be his mate, but it almost certain the Alpha doesn't feel the same way about him so he says nothing and pines from a distance. Talia asks if Stiles would like to train to be an emissary to the Hale pack and Stiles agrees.
Accidental Amnesiac Mates Acquisition (ft. a baby) by redhoodedwolf - (Rating: T, Words: 24549, sterek)
“Who are you?”
He snapped his head around and clutched the child tighter to his chest. But then his senses caught up with him: Pack, mate, family, safe, calm, anxiety, panic, panic, panic
“I don’t know,” he admitted. “Who are you?”
The man with the warm brown eyes gaped at him in surprise. “Um. I don’t know.”
The baby in his arms promptly burst into tears.
*
What it says on the tin.
Bleeding Love by BisexualInDisguise - (Rating: T, Words: 6919, sterek)
Stiles promised himself that the werewolves didn't smell the depression and desperation wafting off of him because they were simply distracted, not because they couldn't care less. He told himself that he's just good at hiding it.
Stiles was trying so damn hard.
But he's broken so many promises to himself.
----
Scott's a bad friend and Derek's a fluff ball
I found you hidden in plain sight (why'd I take so long?) by Gorgeousgreymatter - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 25419, sterek)
Stiles is pretty sure he’s hallucinating. He’s got to be. There’s no other plausible explanation, he thinks, as he sits on the sidelines of the lacrosse field and feels the cold, hard bench underneath him, the roar of the crowd at his back like the worst white noise machine in the world.
There’s no other reason why he sees it, the hulking, black figure of a wolf peering at him from the treeline behind the bleachers. Its eyes flare in the glaring glow of the stadium lights, but they’re the wrong color, he thinks: blood-moon red instead of cobalt blue, but the familiarity of it all makes his stomach roll and clench.
Til We Ain't Strangers Anymore byWriteByNight - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 35994, sterek)
Stiles should've expected Derek to suddenly disappear since the werewolf was in the habit of taking off without notice. However, Derek always showed up when they needed him.
As the weeks pass by, Stiles is no longer confused and a little hurt. What started as heartache begins to get worse the longer Stiles goes without seeing Derek. Eventually, his body begins to shut down and his only hope seems to be Derek...but nobody can find him.
There's no cure for a broken heart. Except, maybe, the cause for the broken heart himself.
- - -
Or the one where Derek takes off without warning and Stiles finds out he could be Derek's mate and the distance between Derek and Stiles, along with Derek's refusal to develop the bond, is slowly killing Stiles. Without Derek, Stiles will die, but no one knows where he is or how to contact him. And Stiles is barely keeping it together.
Synonyms for Longing by wanderingeyre  - (Rating: T, Words: 11386, sterek)
Derek has been at his house for less than two days and Stiles is deeply regretting his decision to offer Derek a place to stay. Well, it was more like he didn’t try to throw Derek back out the window when he creeped in two nights ago, but he would have made a valiant effort if he’d known what a pain in the ass Derek would be.
Suddenly you're standing still by gottalovev - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 7669, sterek)
A long time ago, Stiles promised his mom that he'd never cross the Hale property lines. He has kept his word even if there hasn't been a Hale in Beacon Hills for years, not since the fire. But suddenly Scott gets turned into a werewolf, Derek Hale is back, and Stiles has to share his biggest secret. (AU set in S1+ where Stiles is a born werefox)

@writersmonth Prompt: Day 10 - Sandcastle
Fandom: Teen Wolf | Sterek WC: 900
AO3
X. Sandcastle | Of Sandcastles and Flannel
“You have to promise me, Sourwolf.” Stiles was careful to keep his voice neutral and happy, even if he felt nothing but. He kept his focus on the bucket he was using to help Eli build a sandcastle the way the boy had seen on TV. Stiles was being extra careful to keep the towers intact while the boy swung the shovel widely while trying to fill another bucket with sand.
Derek smiled at the scene, unable to keep the warmth he felt at seeing his pup and his mate enjoying a day at the beach. He gave himself five minutes to enjoy it, before going back to the conversation he currently had ongoing with said mate.
He took a deep breath. It was always hard arguing in front of Eli. They both had to keep their cool and pretend they were having fun. Eli was too young to really understand what was going on, but he was smart and understood their tones. And Stiles could be absolutely insufferable at times.
“Yes, Stiles, I promise.” Derek gave in, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. Stiles pointed the other shovel at his mate, raising both his eyebrows at him. Eli immediately followed suit, also pointing his own shovel at his father. While Stiles held his like it was a sword, Eli was holding it with both hands, trying to remain standing at the same time, making it look more like a slight extension of his chubby arm.
“Subuguf” Eli mumbled, in a way Derek just knew he meant ‘Sourwolf’, so he shot Stiles a look. Who was too busy looking proudly at his son.
“Yeah, daddy is a Sourwolf, isn’t he, sweetpea?” Eli squealed in delight while Stiles tickled him, falling on the sand, his head protected by Stiles’ hand.
“Stiles, you are the one being annoying here.”
“I’m thinking of the future of our son, Derek.” Stiles deadpanned.
“Stiles, my love, light of my days. How in the world is it in Eli’s best interest to buy him flannel for Thanksgiving dinner?”
“Okay, first of all, you already promise, so it’s happening. Second of all, he is my son. People need to know that. He has your eyes, and your pretty hair, and your pretty claws. What does he have of me?” Stiles said in a single breath. Eli had come to them after his mother died at the hands of a Hunter, but even if he was adopted when he wasn’t even a month old, Eli looked quite a lot like Derek. At almost one year old, his eyes were no longer as green as they had once been, turning more brown with time. But his hair was darker than Stiles’. And he was a werewolf. He hadn’t shown it yet, but Stiles knew it.
“He had moles, Stiles. Moles. And he’s way too smart for his own good. He has Isaac wrapped around his little finger.”
“Of course he does, he’s the Alpha’s kid.” Stiles cooed at Eli, while the boy resumed his work in the sandcastle, destroying a whole tower in his haste. Before he could even pout at that, Stiles jumped into action, making a new one.
“Stiles, that kid does as you say. He has never once obeyed me.”
“That’s because you’re boring, Alpha Hale. I’m fun.”
And Derek wouldn’t have it any other way. Once the castle was built to Eli’s very high standards, he walked up to Derek and made grabby hands at him until Derek lifted him in his arms. Eli then started talking a mile a minute with his baby talk, which neither Derek nor Stiles understood, but still Derek did his best to respond every now and then, and nod, in what hopped were appropriate times. Stiles laughed at him from his place on the sand, but was smiling fondly at the both of them.
“We don’t need the flannel. They’ll know he’s yours.” Derek informed him, turning to lend Stiles a hand to stand up, while Eli continued on with his conversation.
Stiles barked a laugh, but nodded. “Still not getting out of it, Hale.”
“Stilinski-Hale.” Derek immediately corrected.
“Stilinski-Hale” Stiles agreed, grabbing their stuff so they could head back to the Jeep and to Beacon Hills. They had dinner with Stiles’ dad after all, and he got grumpy when they were late with his grandson.
“No scarves, though!” Stiles said as an afterthought, once they had reached the Jeep. It took Derek a full 30 seconds to understand what his mate was talking about.
“Oh, absolutely no scarves. Less Isaac time.” Derek decided.
“Also no murder, so Erica is a no go, then.”
“Lydia?” Derek asked.
“Too dangerous, are you kidding? Scott. He’s the lesser evil.”
“He already does puppy eyes at us, Stiles.”
“Yeah, but at least he’ll be like…nice. We aren’t that great in that department.”
Derek didn’t answer while he strapped Eli into his car seat, giving himself time to think. “Okay, yeah. I’ll give you that. Scott it is.”
“Yes!” Stiles celebrated, pumping his fist up in the air. Derek let out a slight chuckle at his man’s antics.
“You are lucky to have him as your daddy.” Derek said to his son conspiratorially, before going to take the driver’s seat. “Let’s go visit grandpa.” He said louder this time, reversing out of the parking lot. For the whole drive, he felt he was on top of the world.

Hello wrestling fans that follow me. This isn't a post about wrestling. My nan was in hospital yesterday and only did we catch up eith casulty and can I just say. Charlie has been such an important character for me. I grew up watching medical shows especially casulty since I was young with my nan and Charlie was always my favourite, a nurse so kind and gentle but strong and brave was a comfort for a young chronically ill me who was constantly in and out of hospitals, having nurses that weren't so nice or were the nicest people in the world. My nan would always qhen anxious to think of Charlie being there, even if it was just for a blood test. He became such an inspiration for me and comfort when my great grandpa died when I was ten, he was exactly like Charlie and it was like my grandpa never left, just existed on a TV scree- sharing his wisdom and stories with everyone watching. To be quite honest with you guys reading this post, it helped me grief. Made the pain a little easier to understand in my autistic brain and Charlie saying goodbye is going to absolutely totally break me. I screamed when he got stabbed and sobbed through the entire thing. I know they're not gonna save him, that Duffy is gonna come and comfort him. But I'm not ready to say goodbye to everyone all over again. Its going to hurt and much like Jac Naylors death, I don't think I'm ever gonna get over it. Yeah they're characters but to a traumatised, autistic trans boy they felt like friends. I've seen myself reflected in so many characters in Holby and Casulty that I miss them like fallen friends, I cannot lay flowers on their graves and I cannot cuddle their gravestones but I have something many don't, I can rewind shows and there they are, voices and all. They're happy and for that moment, so am I. So no I'm not ready for the grief I'll have to go through Saturday nor the anxiety thay I'm going to carry this week, but thank you Derek Thomson for being an amazing actor, thank you Charlie Fairhead for making me see that men can be careful and gentle and calm and kind. That anger isn't a dangerous thing, when your hearts behind it. Thank you for shaping me into the boy I am today, for that. And on behalf everyone casulty has touched and loved, we thank you and we love you and we will carry you with us forever.
The wards will never be the same.

Summary: Derek ate The Chili. You know exactly which chili I'm talking about, too. Unsurprisingly, the chili made him sick...very very sick. Sick enough to die...but don't worry, he didn't die for long. Now he's back and better than ever, minus one very important thing.
A heartbeat.
(Santa Clarita Diet AU)
Warnings: A lot? All of them. Everything. Blood, vomit, gore, zombies, sex...you name it.
Pairings: Hotch/Morgan
Notes: A Santa Clarita Diet AU? YEAH! I had the idea yesterday and here we are today...no idea where this is going but it's going and I am having fun. A lot of it. Maybe too much. It'll hopefully be as funny as it is gross.

2007
“That's...a lot of vomit.”
Hotch was staring at his bathroom in horror. Derek had told him his stomach hurt while they sat on the jet, but it seemed to go away. One minute he looked like he was going to cry, hands pressed to the stabbing pain in his side, the next he was just fine. Looking at Hotch like he was overreacting. Like his eyes had deceived him. “Must have just been gas,” Derek said with an air of nonchalance that made Hotch nervous. Then he farted, and JJ moved down a few seats in disgust and Derek laughed.
“That smells like something crawled up your butt and died,” she muttered, covering her face. Hotch smirked and shook his head. Just gas.
He was fine.
Until now.

hey looooove the juicy detail of jaina taking away katherines right to capital punishment btw. its just really *chefs kiss* to be a fly on the wall during that political decision :eyes:
jaina @ katherine: hey mom im glad we're semi-reconciled BUT i do need to let you know that now that im not semi-suicidal im never gonna let you pull that shit ever again
oh yeah that was all very carefully considered and i'm so glad you picked up on it!!
jaina's emotions around what katherine did are COMPLICATED TO SAY THE LEAST, but she's very firm that someone who hands over judgement for capital crimes to a subordinate and then does not bother to follow up on what happened should not get to make those calls anymore.
at the same time, there's no way jaina is going to be reliably located a) in kul tiras or b) anywhere, actually, she's too fond of portals. so SOMEONE needs to be in charge of the day-to-day and that someone may as well be the person who's done a perfectly fine job with a few Major Exceptions for the last 25 years.
i may write, as its own ficlet or in a flashback, that whole sequence just because. yes yes calling the fleet home EXTREMELY good scene full of vibes now she's lord admiral, whatever you know what the royal navy has in spades? paperwork. it was never gonna just be ceremonial there's gotta be PAPERWORK ABOUT IT. so now they (+ tandred?) sit down in a room and like. how does this work when the lord admiral is also on call to solve this week's magical apocalypse. what about the bit where the previous lord admiral let her patsy throw the current one into hell. what about the bit where they're estranged mother-daughter because nobody has really processed daelin's death!!! WHAT about the bit where jaina's ENTIRE REASON (...stated, suicide-by-admiralty an incidental side effect) for coming home was to bring kul tiras BACK into the alliance, a polity which ate daelin and derek? what about it. revolving them in my head.
they're both now trying hard to recreate a relationship but jaina was TEN when she went to dalaran (...give or take, i go back and forth on 10 or 15, point being, YOUNG) and 20 when daelin died and now she's 45 and Some Things Have Happened and it's just. holy shit. now what.

The Badger and The Snake: 1
Note: All the first years are fourteen and graduate Hogwarts at twenty in this, Derek is sixteen while Stiles is fourteen
Tagging: @axelwolf8109 @ozzypawsbone-princeofbarkness @lynsrosegarden @pollyna @taechnology777 @greek-freak101 @thebejeweledwatercat
Board by the talented af @ravenclaw-seeker
Eventually pairings: Stiles x Derek, Allison x Lydia, Issac x Scott, Ethan x Jackson, Aiden x Cora.
Tumblr media
"Let me look over you" Noah Stilinski fretted over his son, Stiles was slightly uncomfortable but kept it in. To be fair, neither of them knew Stiles was a wizard until about two months ago.
"You write letters to me whenever you can okay?" Noah held his son's shoulder. "Of course dad" Stiles got surprisingly choked up. Noah hugged him close and let go after a minute.
"Give them hell kid" Stiles laughed and boarded the train.
He walked to the first compartment he saw. "Can I sit here?" "Sure" A tan skinned kid smiled politely, his companion rolling his eyes but not saying.
"I'm Stiles" "I'm Danny" Danny turned to his friend. "Jackson" The other kid rolled his eyes again. Another boy ran in, hiding in a corner. "What did you do this time McCall?" Jackson grinned.
"Might've angered the Steiner twins" He squeaked. "I told them Slytherin and Ravenclaw are for smart people and they aren't smart"
"One of this days you're gonna get punched" Danny laughed.
"Yeah yeah, I'm Scott by the way" He held out his hand to Stiles who shook it. "I hope I'm in Slytherin" Jackson said. "Ravenclaw" Danny said.
"Gryffindor" Scott sighed. "I don't really have one I want" Stiles shrugged. "That's smart, you won't be disappointed then"
Stiles giggled and even Jackson cracked a smile. "Hey Jackson" A young girl with long black hair walked in. "Hey cus" He teased.
"Stiles, Scott, Danny" He introduced quickly. "This is my cousin Cora" "Hi" She waved politely. "So Derek and Laura are definitely trying out for Quidditch this year"
"After they flew into our house twice?" Cora laughed. "I still can't believe my dad's gonna be the potions teacher" Jackson hid his face.
"Peter Hale?" Scott tilted his head. "Uh yeah" "Damn dude"
"Am I supposed to know this? I'm technically muggle born" Stiles muttered. "The rest of our family died in a house fire when we were babies, my dad and cousins survived, it was rumored that a rival wizarding family did it" Jackson said bitterly.
-----
"What if I don't get sorted" Scott whined nervously. "Maybe they'll keep you because of pity" Danny joked. "Ha ha"
Stiles couldn't hear anything, not the headmaster who Jackson was glaring at, not the fricking hat singing.
"Allison Argent!" A teacher called out. Jackson looked like he was about to throw something, Cora glared. Two teens from the Slytherin table looked away like she was beneath them, a teacher clenched his jaw but manages to look unbothered.
"Ravenclaw!" The hat yelled out. "That was awkward" Scott said.
"Cora Hale!" Cora took a deep breath. "Slytherin!" She whooped and ran to her brother and sister, who Stiles deduced were Derek and Laura.
"Isaac Lahley!" A young boy with curly blonde hair but too pale skin walked up shaking. "Gryffindor!"
"Lydia Martin!" A girl with strawberry blond hair skipped forward with confidence. "Slytherin!"
"Danny Māhealani" Danny patted Jackson on the back. "Slytherin!" "Aw man"
"Scott McCall!" Scott squeezed Stiles' arm, Stiles squeezed back
"Gryffindor!" Scott almost ran to the table with the Sorting hat on, the Slytherin teen boy that Stiles saw earlier, Derek, covered his mouth to keep from laughing.
"Aiden Steiner!" Aiden shoved past Stiles. "Ravenclaw!" "Wait what?" Aiden's twin said scandalized. "That's what happens when you act like a fool" Jackson whispered to Stiles who laughed.
"Ethan Steiner!" Ethan looked absolutely miserable. "Slytherin!" "They can separate twins?" "I guess"
"Stiles Stilinski!" Stiles was happy that it apparently didn't show his full name. 'Hmm, you're definitely loyal and smart, let us see' The hat said in Stiles' head. "Better be, Hufflepuff!" Stiles went to the table that was clapping for him.
Scott gave him a thumbs up and a grin. "Jackson Whittemore!" "Slytherin!" Peter Hale smiled genuinely and clapped for his son.
"I'm Kira!" The prefect sitting by Stiles shook his hand. "This is...wow" He grinned at all the food. "The head of house is my mom"
"That's so cool!" Stiles grinned.
Allison Argent was laughing with a few other Ravenclaws, Scott was arm wrestling with another Gryffindor, and Jackson and Danny were flirting with a couple of Slytherins.
------
"Boys dorm is here, you'll have to room with Boyd and Liam" Kira said. Stiles was looking around the Hufflepuff common room in awe. "I love plants" He grinned. Kira smiled fondly.
"Yo" Boyd waved from his bed, Liam looked at Stiles with a small glare. "Hi" Stiles waved.
"We're second years, you're our only first year so..." Liam mumbled. "He's just cranky because he wants to cuddle with his boyfriend from Gryffindor. I still says Theo is crazy enough to be a snake!"
"Shut your face" Stiles laughed and sat on his bed, taping a picture of his dad onto the headboard.
Day one of Hogwarts had done well, hopefully the next months did too.

Alright I gave in and watched the Teen Wolf Movie and since I posted about the series on here before I’m not going to type out my feelings. Read not just for obvious spoilers but a recap of the entire movie.
There are so many things that are straight up bad, I don’t know who did the visual effects here but that’s not what I’m going to be talking about here. Right off the bat, yes I loved seeing these characters on screen again, loved having some new content but, oh boy. Sometimes things are better off if you leave them the way they were. First of all, I get why some people (Dylan, Arden and probably more) did not want to be part of this. I would be lying if I said I don’t miss those characters because they added a lot to the team and the story. Stiles’ ideas were what got them through most of the shit in the early seasons and that’s also why the later seasons weren’t as catchy I guess. But it’s their choice and if they want to leave that behind I respect that. With Kira, it feels like they tried to write the story of Liam’s (girl-?)friend for her but idk man. If they did they had to change a lot. Also it would’ve been hella weird for Scott to have 3 ex girlfriends running around in one place. For the rest of the characters Scott, yes, we needed him. He’s the main character. Makes sense he’s back. Lydia, same as Scott. She’s part of the pack and we need people that aren’t werewolves. Malia, alright she fits it. She’s a little different, a little reckless. I was never really a fan of her back then but I don’t dislike her, she can be fun. However making her Parrish’s love interest seems odd. Parrish, makes sense that he still works in Beacon Hills so of course he’s back. Sherif Stilinski, same as Parrish. He lives there, he’s still in contact with the others and thanks to his job he’s involved in the crimes. Chris, even in the later seasons it was weird for me that he still talks to the others. Basically his whole family died and I don’t know if I would’ve stayed there to be invested in this whole chaos after that. But since he’s also in the last seasons it makes sense he’s in the movie as well. Melissa, same as the other adults, she works and lives in Beacon Hills. And she’s Scott’s mom so of course she’s involved in his shit. Derek, ok so, I don’t know who he fucked and then ditched because how does he have a child with no wife? Like I get it people part ways but this just seems off. Also I don’t know what being a father did to him but he seems like a dumbass in most scenes. Like, completely out of context and character. Eli, it feels weird that he even exists. He’s a fun guy, typical gen z if I may call him that and I guess we needed some young blood as well as someone for a possible spin off. Wouldn’t be teen wolf without any teens. Liam, we started off strong and towards the end he seemed to have disappeared. What happened? Coach, a classic. He’s the same as always. Not a single complaint about this man. Deaton, he’s only there for mythical input. He’s still doing his job at the clinic and Scott’s still in contact with him so yeah, he can be in the movie. Mason, took me a while to realize it was him. But hey, he got a job and he’s doing great. Sucks for him to get involved in this shit again. What happened to Corey? Allison, I will talk about this later but for the story it makes sense for her to be back Jackson, we all love his chaotic nonsense but why the hell didn’t he do anything in the movie? He just talked. No claws, no fangs, nothing? I’m disappointed Peter, do we hate him? Do we love him? Who knows. Tbh I was sick of him being the villain for no reason throughout the series but in the movie he was pretty useless. Why didn’t he die in the end? Wouldn’t be the first time we see him crispy Adrian Harris, ok hear me out. I’m all for bringing back people from former seasons but who is this man. He looked nothing like he did back then and besides the scar around his neck nothing linked to the past. Does he have a motive besides being mad about being killed last time? How did he know about the nogitsune? Or where to find it? It doesn’t make sense. Victoria Argent, she’s back as an illusion so it’s fine. No complaints. Conrad Fenris, I forgot this man existed and they only used him for what? To show they brought Harris to Eichenhouse? Not sure if they’re hinting at a sequel or whatever but idk. Could’ve gone without him. But since the actor is Tyler Posey’s dad I can see past that. Now to the actual story... A lot of people called this movie a fix fic for what they “messed up” in season 3. Which, I get to some points. Kiling Allison was a big decision back then but they had their reasons. It felt sort of reaslistic that kids who fight evil sometimes don’t make it out alive so even though I was sad about her death, it made sense. And for this movie, I didn’t hate the idea of bringing someone back who died previously. They did it multiple times with Peter so. Also I watch Supernatural so nothing ever stays dead. So the movie starts with Liam and his coworker/friend/girlfriend working at an asian restaurant when a hooded person comes in and demands the nogitsune.
Tumblr media
They try to run but the person catches up and takes the jar in which they keep the nogitsune? Seems pretty reckless if you ask me to keep it in a jar. The person then “makes an arrangement” with it and sets it free in the form of a firefly.
The next scene shows us Scott working together with Deaton and the fire department to save a little girl as well as a dog from the ruins of a collapsed building. Which makes me wonder why Deaton works with them in the first place. But we see that Scott has his powers and uses them to save people. Back at the animal shelter/clinic Scott sees Allison or think he sees her before she vanishes.
Tumblr media
Maybe I missed the point where he mentions that he has been seeing her for a while now or maybe this was the first time, however Chris shows up and tells them he’s been seeing her for years. They both seem to have heard the same word “Bardo” which Deaton quickly explains means a state between life and death. They they figure out that Allison must be stuck between life and death and decide to go back to Beacon Hills to find a way to help her. And of course, Christ somehow has the sword that killed her 15 years ago.
The next scene shows Lydia in her new life, she seems to be a business woman doing very important business. But during a meeting one of her coworkers/ clients whatever asks who Allison is because every word in her presentation paper says Allison. She is shocked and rushes to her office where she begins to sketch and skribble on loose pieces of paper, the way she used to do back in earlier seasons.
Tumblr media
Back in Beacon Hills, we see a teenage boy break into the “Hale Auto” shop to steal Stiles’ old jeep. He drives away with it but is seen by Parrish who is on duty and watches the road.
Next we see Mason who is also a cop and was on the phone, heading towards Sherif Stilinski to tell him about Parrish wanting to talk to their “consultant”. They’re in the middle of the forest but their surroundings are burnt to the ground. Turns out Derek is working with the police and Parrish snitches on the boy who turns out to be Derek’s son. However that happened because the whole movie doesn’t explain where that kid comes from.
Tumblr media
However they talk about the other fires that have occoured before and that this wasn’t gasoline. They eventually tell Derek his son has stolen the Jeep again even though Derek hates it. We then see his son drive up to a red light to impress a girl but before he can leave, Derek, the Sherif and Parrish have caught up with him and Derek slashed his tire. In the meantime Scott and Lydia meet at the spot where they fought the Nogitsune back in S3, the spot where Allison has died. We get a bunch of flashbacks of her dying in Scott’s arms while he stares at the old ruins. Lydia arrives and they have a small moment before she shows him the sketches she has drawn earlier. Somehow she knows exactly what they need to save her namely a handful of dirt from that exact spot. So they go on to smash the ground to grab a handful of dirt. Which was weirdly intense for them to simply pick up some dirt.
Tumblr media
Either way they pack up and head to (I assume?) Melissa’s house where they meet Chris to discuss their next steps. Jackson shows up, has some funny lines, grabs pizza and rearranges Lydia’s sketches to form an image of the nemeton. I know I’ve made posts about this stupid tree before but I feel like the creators of this show and movie repurpose old elements too easily. You expect a new crazy thing and it’s the same old tree. It’s fine if it makes sense but it’s getting old. Same with Peter being the villain. But I have to say I liked the way the showed it this time unlike the same drawing of the same tree they used in the series.
Tumblr media
For the next scene we see a small family house and a car pull into the drive way. Derek and his son Eli enter the kitchen and Derek is mad about his son’s behaviour. They argue and in the end we find out that Eli, although he is a born werewolf to the Hale family genes, has trouble transforming and even healing. I’ve seen a post pointing out all the little ridiculous details about the kitchen like the wine and protein powder or the flowers in front of the house and I must say Derek really is a housewife. Even though I couldn’t stand all the new characters from S5 and S6, Eli is pretty funny and has some great lines throughout the movie.
Tumblr media
Back at the Hale Auto shop, Parrish arrives after they dropped off the Jeep. As he walks in, a coyote enters the shop and transforms into a very naked Malia. At this point I was already disappointed in the writing because I knew what was going to happen. In the series we had the thing between Lydia and Parrish which already seemed off but as it turns out 15 years later, he and Malia have a non exclusive thing going. He seems to be more interested in her but she doesn’t want the commitment.
Tumblr media
After they’ve done the do and got dressed Malia receives a text from Lydia, telling her they need to talk urgently. In the next scene Derek tries to bond with Eli, offering to practice with him for the upcomming lacrosse game but as it turns out Eli escaped through the window of his bedroom.
We see a short scene of Deaton and Chris in a garage where Deaton hold a silver bullet and says he needs answers. Next we see Lydia and Scott pull up in their car to where they meet Malia. They greet each other and Scott and Malia have a bit of a weird moment which makes sense considering their past. However if this was real, everyone would act like this because they’ve all dated each other. Anyway, they head out into the woods to find the nemeton.
Back to Deaton and Chris, Deaton asks a bunch of weird questions and riddles before they start a fight and Deaton eventually throws mountain ash on Chris. He then stumbles backwards and from his mouth a firefly appears and flies away. Which leads to the question how the fuck this firefly got inside him or how long it has been possessing him. Also what was the point of this? Was Chris evil during the previous scenes? Doesn’t make much sense to me.
Tumblr media
In the woods, Lydia, Scott and Malia come across Eli who just so happens to know where the nemeton is. Again, this tree has been in the picture since S3 how has no one ever remembered where this thing is located? They eventually find the tree and send Eli home before they start their little ritual with the dirt and the sword. They all claim to have no idea what they’re doing but who came up with this idea in the first place? Either way the sword gets sucked into the tree and they decide to leave, thinking nothing has happened. If I ever see a sword get sucked into a tree I would think at least something has happened, right? Or is that just me. Through some magic light Allison appears completely naked and unconscious and they all turn back around to go pick her up and get her to the car.
Tumblr media
They drive her to the hospital where they meet Melissa. They put her in a room, wondering if it’s really her or not. In the meantime, a whole swearm of those fireflies get to the nemeton and enter it. The sword reappears as well as the nogitsune we’ve known from S3.
There’s a cut and we switch to the school where Coach pep talks a bunch of lacrosse players as well as Eli who is walking behind everyone else. The Sherif appears and talks to him, telling him not to steal the jeep while Derek is off to tell the coach to let his son play in the game even though he sucks.
Tumblr media
At the hospital Lydia, Malia, Scott and Melissa discuss what’s happening with Allison while she manages to sneak out of her room, steal some clothes and tries to escape the hospital. They chase after her and I have to say, for someone who has been dead for 15 years it’s pretty impressive that she was able to fight off several security guards, a were-coyote and an alpha. Even for someone with her training, she’s still human. But hey, power balance isn’t one of teen wolf’s strenghts. There’s a short fight where Scott tries to tell her who he is but she doesn’t remember, she is only looking for Derek Hale. Which I find odd. Why does she only remember Derek and not the others?
Tumblr media
She injures Scott with a pair of scissors and watches him heal therefor she knows he is one of the monsters. She breaks free and manages to escape after meeting her father and not recognizing him either. Once again, why does she remember no one except Derek? At the police station, Sherif tells Mason, Parrish and another deputy to do their jobs basically before they all leave. A single deputy is left at the station and when he hears a weird noise he goes to investigate only to find the nogitsune in one of the cells. He tells him the deputy is a kitsune as well and goes on to kill him to steal “his nine tails”. I didn’t really get this scene or what the point of it was besides the nogitsune getting more powerful and leaving behind a body for the others to find.  Outside the hospital, Scott, Chris, Deaton, Malia and Melissa talk about how Allison might not be herself and that she didn’t recognize either of them. They come to the conclusion that she only remembers being a hunter and is now a threat to every werewolf, especially Derek. Allison arrives at the basement of, what I assume is, the Argent household and goes straight to picking up some weapons. While in there, the nogitsune appears and uses the form of her dead mother to convince her to kill the others, starting with the betas. Also she drops the F bomb in that scene, which was fine but I could’ve thought of better uses.
Tumblr media
Lydia and Jackson arrive at the police station where they find the dead body of the deputy.
Derek carries his son through the locker room at the school because he has injured his foot after playing for like a minute at the game. Eli is disappointed but Dereks tries to cheer him up by telling him how great he is. At least he’s being a good dad. Allison shows up and attacks them while Derek tells Eli to run away. They fight and he realizes who she is before she shoots him with an arrow, nearly killing him before Liam and his girlfriend (who happens to be a kitsune) show up to save him. Scott and Malia arrive as well and Allison decides to leave. Derek is basically bleeding to death but keeps talking about Eli and how he can’t run or transform.
Tumblr media
Once again, we see the sherif and the deputies at the scene of a forest fire and they still have no idea what caused the fires but they conclude it’s not a regular arsonist. The mood shifts and a bunch of oni appear and attack the deputies.
A short cut of a scene with Derek, Scott and Malia in the car, talking about them having to find Eli because he can’t transform nor heal on his own, making him an easy target for Allison.
Back with the deputies, we see Mason wandering around, randomly shooting through the fog while the oni appear. They attack and kill one of the random deputies before they get to Sherif Stilinski, Mason and Parrish. They try to fight them but eventually get turned into smoke and disappear.
Tumblr media
Back at the Hale house, Derek is on the couch, surrounded by Melissa, Malia, Chris, Scott and Deaton who takes care of his wound. He says the healing works faster with fire which is when Peter appears out of nowhere with a blowtorch. Typical Peter behavior even if it’s more than weird. He then proceids to burn the wolfsbane out of Derek’s wound to save him. After that Scott heads out after receiving some encouraging words from his mother.
Tumblr media
Eli apparently decided to take the car to flee and is now trying to pump some gas when Allison shows up, crashing her car into his at the Hale Auto shop. He stumbles and hurries inside with his ankle still injured.
Liam and his girlfriend arrive at the Police station where they meet Lydia and Jackson. They tell them about the dead deputy and Liam’s girlfriend explains he was a kitsune as well.
the adults at the Hale house talk about how Allison might be an illusion and Peter confronts Chris about it but he assures him that this isn’t his daughter and he will not be guided by emotion.
Eli is still trying to get away from Allison and hides inside the shop, waiting for his moment to attack her. But he is still injured and she quickly takes over, ready to kill him.
Tumblr media
To his luck, Scott arrives and distracts her but that results in him getting shot by her arrow instead. The two werewolves get out and Scott manages to get Eli to heal his wounds and injured ankle by triggering his healing. Yes, Scott is still the Alpha™ and just growls at him to get him to heal 15 years of trauma. Either way it works and they can now run into the forest where Scott tells him to keep going alone because he needs to confront her.
At the police station, the four of them discover that the hooded person who stole the jar is the same person to set the forest on fire. Lydia and Jackson decide to find the person who set the fires while Liam and his girlfriend go leave to find Scott.
Liam stumbles onto a road and almost gets run over by the Sherif who then takes him in while Melissa, Peter and Chris decide to follow his tracks into the woods.
Scott and Allison still fight while he tries to talk some sense into her.
The Sherif and Eli arrive back at the Hale house where Derek has healed completely and is relieved to see his son alive. One thing I love about this movie is Derek being a Good Dad™
Tumblr media
However their little moment gets interrupted by a bunch of Oni showing up once again.
Liam and his girlfriend break down in their car and get attacked by the Oni as well before they both get taken down and turn into smoke.
At the Hale house, they all try to fight but don’t stand a chance against the Oni. Derek gets stabbed in front of his son who then runs and hides in the basement with Malia.
Tumblr media
Eli goes ahead to fight the Oni but also gets taken down and just like the others disappears into smoke. Only Malia survives by pulling down the curtains of the windows and letting sunlight in, making the Oni disappear.
Scott and Allison have been fighting the entire time and she has cornered him at the edge of a cliff. He still tries to convince her he’s the good guy and eventually stabs himself with her knife to prove she can trust him.
At the police station, Jackson is tired of sitting around and he and Lydia decide to head out to the woods to investigate the fires when Malia and Parrish show up and tell them everyone else has been taken by the Oni. Also loved this little moment of Jackson with the shrug.
Tumblr media
After that we see the best shot of the movie: the full body sniff. Peter crawling on the floor, pointing out a huge ass puddle of blood that everyone saw even without werewolf senses.
Tumblr media
At the burnsite, Lydia and Jackson search for clues. While Malia and Parrish go off to “kill” the Oni with silver. I don’t know how they suddenly came to this conclusion and never though of this before but ok.
Scott and Allison make their way through the woods while Scott points out her regrets and her mask starts to crumble when he mentions their motto “We protect those who cannot protect themselves”.
Tumblr media
Back at the burnside, Lydia and Jackson figure out what the trees that burnt down create mountain ash and the person who did it used the fires to do exactly that. I don’t remember if it was ever mentioned in the series where mountain ash came from but cudos to Lydia for knowing it either way.
Malia and Parrish have another moment and kiss while they pick out weapons to kill the Oni while Scott and Allison arrive at what looks like a basement. We later learn it’s a room inside the stadium. Scott is still very badly injured and close to dying while Allison has visions of the nogitsune/ her mother telling her to keep kililng them even though she’s having doubts.
Tumblr media
Next we see Eli waking up, tied to a wooden post. Around him are all the others who have been kidnapped by the oni, they’re all tied up as well. He tells Derek he managed to heal but they are now trapped, that’s when the Oni show up once again. Also.. this set. It’s supposed to look creepy but to be honest it looks cheap. And the strings, I’m not even calling them ropes, they used to tie up the people look like they fall apart at the slightest pull.
Tumblr media
Scott finally wakes up and talks to Allison and tells her she died in his arms and if she wants to know more about the past she has to save him from dying.
Back in the Oni world, they try to break free but Deaton kindly reminds them the strings are so powerful and can’t hold them back while the Oni approach them with their swords. Liam then notices the sounds around them which then lead us to the lacrosse field and the match that is happening at the same moment.
Tumblr media
The scene switches and we see the lacrosse stadium and the teams running onto the field as well as the coach doing his usual thing.
Meanwhile Melissa, Chris and Peter have stumbled through the woods and came to the conclusion that Allison must have gotten Scott and that their destination is also the lacrosse stadium.
Jackson and Lydia are driving in their car while she is on the phone with Parrish who is still with Malia picking out weapons. Lydia suggests that the one who set the fires this time might also be the one to set the fire who killed Dereks family 20 years ago. Which, to me seems a little far fetched but ok. And she goes on to say that this person was supposed to be dead.

Speaking of, the next shot shows us the hooded person who leaves a trail of mountain ash around the base of the stadium which then magically merges together. So it’s not just regular mountain ash, this one moves on its own. But with this scene, and others later, I never get why bystanders don’t find these people suspiscious or say anything. You see a hooded dude pour out some shit from a container and you decide to ignore it? Ok  I guess.
Tumblr media
Back in the basement, Scott pulls out his wallet and shows Allison the picture they took together 15 years ago which then helps her remember their past. We see a bunch of flashbacks from their time together, a dozen scenes of them being lovey and cute. And he talks about them and their friends. Once again, he tells her she needs to save him by burning the wolfsbane out of his wound in order to hear about the rest.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune arrives at the Oni scene and climbs up the stairs to the others, once again talking in riddles. He first turns to Derek and then to Eli to which Derek says to not be afraid. Eli, the gen z that he is, responds with some witty comment for which I actually love him. 10/10 humor. The nogitsune talks about him not being a wolf just yet and scratches his cheek only for Derek to growl at him.
Next we see Scott almost passed out, seemingly waking up from Derek’s howling when Allison approaches him with a road flare thingy. The same they already used back in S3 during the Motel California episode. She uses the flame to burn out his wound and yet again we see flashbacks, this time from said episode and this is what bothers me. They use these flashbacks to show the emotions and memories but they never show a single frame of Stiles. (I assume it’s because of copy right regarding Dylan but it feels out of place. He was so important for Scott and they fucked this up in the later seasons as well)
Tumblr media
The fire triggers his healing and he screams in pain which can be heard by the other werewolves in the Oni world. Like before, it helps Eli to heal the wound the nogitsune gave him and Derek is all star-eyed, happy dad for his pup to become a big wolf. And Eli, once again, delivers the hilarious line of “how am I supposed to see my own eyes”. The nogitsune gets mad and goes for Eli again.
In the meantime the lacrosse game has been going and it doesn’t look great for Coach and his team. Scott discovers they’re right by the field and Allison says she needs to find his father because he is also in danger and that she might remember Scott before she leaves.
In the Oni world, the nogitsune decides to yeet Eli and throws him through a portal that has him landing in the middle of the lacrosse field where he immediately gets run over by the players.
Tumblr media
Scott follows Allison out and stops her to tell her to be careful because no one knows it’s really her. He’s being the simp he is and tells her he still loves her. Which fits him tbh but after so many years and other girlfriends it feels a little out of place. But she was his first love and died in his arms so he may be excused.
Tumblr media
She leaves and Scott gets a look of the field and realizes Eli is walking around all disoriented while being yelled at by the coach.
Jackson and Lydia arrive at the stadium and discover the mountain ash and that it can’t be broken, figuring out that whatever is supposed to take place is happening right now. Jackson tried to break the seal but it merges back together right before the hooded person steps around a corner. And this is something that bothered me for ages, the inconsistency of these magical things in the series. Sometimes they could break it sometimes it was impossible. One time a wind blow let them through, the other time Scott had to fight for his life to get through.
Scott catches up with Eli and he explains him where everyone is and that they’re trapped. Scott walks around with a massive blood stain on his shirt but no one seems to notice. They head out of the stadium but get stopped by the mountain ash barrier which Scott runs into head first.
Tumblr media
The hooded person reveils his face and Lydia immediately recognizes him as their old chemistry teacher while Jackson has no idea. Classic Jackson, we love them for that. Adrian Harris then responds with “I was your chemistry teacher, Jackson. You fucking imbecile.” Loved the second use of the F bomb. He then shoots Jackson with something? and demands Lydia to scream.
Tumblr media
Eli and Scott rush to the coach to ask him for help to get all the people out the stadium without panic. They all figure out that the only way to do that is to play lacrosse and win the game so they change into the jerseys and play.
Tumblr media
Jackson is on the ground and Harris has Lydia grabbed by her arm, showing her the Oni World and her friends suffering. Again I’m not judging the CGI here but damn. Whoever did this really let it slack.
Tumblr media
We switch over to the Oni world where the others are still trapped. Derek, Deaton and Sherif talk about how Derek hasn’t transformed into a wolf since the one time when Eli was little. He got so scared that Derek never dared to do that again which also might be the reason for him to take so long to discover his own powers.
On the field, they’re still playing lacrosse and Scott shoots the ball miles from the goal, all the way up to the score board where Allison just happens to be standing, smiling at him.
Harris still pressures Lydia into screaming. Telling her that her heartbreak pain is especially appealing to a nogitsune that’s when she reveals why she and Stiles broke up. Namely because she kept having visions of him dying in a car crash. I understand the reasoning and her motif to save Stiles but really? Breaking up with him was the only solution she could think of after everything they’ve been through?
Tumblr media
Peter walks up to Allison at the railing and straig up smashes her head against it knocking it out. No word spoken. We switch back to Scott and Eli on the field, stll playing for the win while the other team’s coach questions Scott even being on the team because he looks 30. Which tbh is hard to tell from so far away with all the gear on. Anyway, Coach replies and tells him that’s Greenberg. 10/10
In the Oni world they can hear the game above them and Derek is happy Dad once again that his son is actually playing. They keep playing, Eli makes the shot and they win. Everyone cheers and people start leaving the stadium.
At the top rank, Peter is holding his claws to Allison’s throat when Melissa and Chris show up. Chris throws a blade at Peter who catches is and infects himself with the wolfsbane before letting go of Allison.
Tumblr media
Chris and Allison hug and they’re happy to be back together even if she still doesn’t know for sure who she is. Tha’s when smoke appears and Allison grabs her bow and just straight up walks into it and disappears. Which is dumb. Just dumb.
She, Eli and Scott land in the Oni world and realize they’re now trapped as well while Malia and Parrish arrive at the Stadium. Whatever the fuck took them so long.
Tumblr media
Right in front of Scott, Allison and Eli some Oni appear and they go in for a fight, now knowing how to kill them. They do a weirdly choreographed partner fight but it gets the job done.
Malia and Parrish sit by the mountain ash barrier and he trie to burn  through it while there are literally people standing behind him and watching him turn into a hellhound.
Tumblr media
The fight in the Oni world oes on but they need to wait for Parrish and the silver bullets. However I always thought they were also killing the werewolves with silver, shouldn’t Allison’s weapon be silver?
Lydia, Jackson and Harris are still watching from the outside and when Allison is about to get hit, she goes on to scream.
Tumblr media
The shock waves pushes back the Oni and gives Scott and Allison a moment to recover while she is having major flashbacks of their friendship which makes her remember everything. Once again, not a single frame of Stiles in sight.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune holds Eli at, well, claw-point and Scott offers his life in return of the others. Offering to sacrifice himself and dying in Allison’s arms in order to save everyone else. Allison refuses at first but then goes on to shoot him with not one but THREE arrows in the heart before he falls down. Also somehow he put on a clean shirt after the game that is now also covered in blood.
The Oni that threatened Peter, Melissa and Chris disappear, showing the game of the nogitsune is over.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune thinks he has won because Scott is about to die but the arrows go up in flames instead and he heals his wounds.
Tumblr media
Thanks to Liam’s girlfriend and her fox fire, he is saved and Allison manages to shoot the nogitsune right in the head with her arrow. Don’t know when or how they came up with this plan or if she did that all by herself but it felt like an easy fix.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune is mad again and the Oni reappear along with Melissa, Peter and Chris who all start fighting and killing them thanks to their silver weapons.
Lydia and Jackson are still watching everything with Harrison while Jackson pulls a knife out of his boot and attacks him. Don’t know what he cut exactly but this was the only time we got to see Jackson’s kanima eyes. However they manage to knock Harris out and Lydia clumsily reaches for his gun and takes it away.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune vanishes for a moment which gives Eli the chance to free his dad with their combined power. Derek once again being a super dad. They bond over being werewolves and being Hales and break the ropes together ♥ before they go on to free everyone else super fucking easily.
Tumblr media
Parrish and Malia are there too now somehow and hand out silver bullets to everyone who has a gun so they can kick the Oni’s asses. Also Sherif shoots one right in the face.
Tumblr media
The nogitsune stumbles back towards them, super mad and you can see him spitting everywhere while he’s talking. He talks about the gift Scott gave him and rips off the bandages around his head to reveal his transforming face. But he just looks really fucking ugly.
Tumblr media
Scott and the others wolf out and he, Derek and Eli go to attack him but are transported into another place. Each one finds themselves in a room matching their eye color. Scott in red, Derek blue and Eli yellow. They can hear each other but the nogitsune starts to attack them.
Tumblr media
They figure they can break the illusion by finding each other and eventually manage to fight off the nogitsune and break out of these rooms together. This whole scene seemed kinda pointless and while it was visually pleasing it did nothing for the plot in my eyes.
Tumblr media
Once they’re back in the Oni world, they hold onto the nogitsune so Parrish can come and kill him off. But apparently he couldn’t do that on his own so he yeets Scott off the nemeton after telling him he’s the alpha and Eli is part of his pack now before he tells Parrish to Blaze it™. Actually he says “Light this fucker up” so we have F bomb number 3.
Tumblr media
Parris doesn’t hesitate at all and burns the nogitsune AND Derek to a crisp while everyone else just stands there shoked to the max including Derek’s own son. And for a brief moment we see his eyes glow red one last time before they basically explode and only Parrish is left behind.
Tumblr media
Everyone is shocked and sad and speechless and Eli is breaking down and once again we see this monstrosity of a fucked up perspective.
Tumblr media
Allison walks up tp Scott to take his hand as if they hadn’t just watched their friend die. The oni masks drop to the ground, disappear and they are all back on the lacrosse field. We hear soothing music and people hug and help each other up. Lydia and Jackson come over to the field while Scott and Allison share a kiss.
Tumblr media
They pull away and look over to Eli who just lost the only fucking family he had since his mother is non-exsistend. And this is the worst moment in the movie for me. This kid lost his dad after everything and they’re treating it like nothing. They might be used to losing Derek, or thinking he is dead, but for this kid his world is ending. However Scott walks up to him to hug him because that makes it so much better.
Tumblr media
The camera zooms out and we see the empty stadium.
Tumblr media
The next scene show’s Derek’s funeral service in their home. Everyone’s there even the Coach who didn’t even know Derek existed until the beginning of the movie. Scott stands at the front and starts giving a speach about how Derek has saved his life in so many ways and how he made him and Eli brothers. He makes an important point about found family and how much they all mean to each other. At this point we’re all crying.
Tumblr media
Eli walks out with tears in his eyes and the Sherif follows him out in the hallway. He hands him the keys to the jeep and Eli mentions once again that Derek hated it which leaves us wondering why Derek hated Stiles jeep so much. The Sherif goes on about how Derek kept fixing that jeep after Stiles left it even though it was so beyond repair and how Derek always managed to get up after a defeat and kept going just like that. We see a bunch of flashbacks of Derek getting punched, tortured, beaten and so on while the Sherif tells Eli to just keep it going.
Tumblr media
The scene switches and we see the Eli driving the Jeep through the woods and over a bridge with some soothing and happy music in the background.
Tumblr media
The scene changes and we see Scott and Allison at the dog shelter before the camera switches over to Deaton and Eli who adopted a dog. Allison tells Scott she feels wistful about having lost so much time but Scott isn’t worried about the past because he knows he’s having a future with Eli and with Allison.
Tumblr media
They kiss again and we see a police car driving down the street at night.  Inside there’s Harris and a deputy. Which is already weird because why would any normal person transport a criminal at night? They stop in front of a big iron fence and we see there’s another car behind them. Harris asks what’s going on when two men get out of the car behind them and continue to grab him and pull him out of the deputy car. Another man gets out of the car, this time it’s Conrad Fenris, the director of Eichenhouse, while they drag Harris to he back of the other car. He complains about the others being crazy and about the kids being werewolves to which Fenris replies they’ve heard plenty of stories about teenage werewolves and there’s always a new one. This whole scene feels unnecessary unless they’re trying to promote a second movie which I hope will not be coming.
Tumblr media
The last scene shows the cliff over Beacon Hills and Eli walking up to the edge during a full moon with glowing eyes and we hear a lion-king-line “Remember who you are” in Derek’s voice.
Tumblr media
I’m sure they’re trying to promote him as the new teen wolf, the new kid. To be fair they made him likable and relatable enough that kids like him and I’m sure he will do great but do we really need another teen wolf series? As much as I love the characters, spin offs usually ruin the source material as seen with this movie.
So that’s the movie. It honestly felt like binging 3 seasons of the show in one day. A lot of shit happening any only after going over everything a second time to make this post I actually understood half the shit that was happening. Most of the scenes felt rather rushed and even though I get there’s not much time in a movie to show actual growth I was hoping for less “easy” fixes. This is a problem that happened often during the show that always bothered me. They got Derek to fix everything in 5 minutes, Scott had magical alpha powers and could suddenly do impossible things. Sometimes this feels like lazy writing and the rushed explanations or even the lack of explanations felt exactly like that.
However I enjoyed seeing these beloved characters in their new lives even though we didn’t get to see much about what they actually do and even if I’m still sad that some characters didn’t make a comeback I think they came up with a pretty decent storyline. At first I was sceptical about bringing Allison back but it fit. But just like the later seasons of the show, I watched this because I love the characters and the cast not the great writing.
I don’t agree with a lot of choices they made (killing Derek, giving Derek a son, Malia and Parrish being a thing) most of it seemed wrong in a way but I can accept their choices and the movie was still somewhat enjoyable even though I continuously switched between “I hate this”, “I love this” and “What the fuck”.
Solid 7.5/10 thanks to the many funny lines from Jackson, Coach and Eli
