this is why Demonology hits so hard. It goes there, ALL the way there, and moves us through it together
can’t think too hard about crowley in a religious context like omg imagine having the absolute certainty that god exists and she has chosen to reject your entire being… branded you shameful and despicable and the opposite of good….. it’s not that you have no faith it’s that faith itself has christened you a thing to be thwarted and avoided….. and then you crawl from the very dirt she’s tried to bury you in and sin, sin, sin and that is when you meet him

[Fic Book Covers 11+12/?] Integrative Approaches by Nnm / @mouseonamoose
Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma
As soon as Aubrey Thyme, psychotherapist, had opened her office door and seen her new client, Anthony J. Crowley, sitting in her waiting area, she was observing and assessing him. At first glance, she paid attention to the following: --His clothing was expensive and stylish; --He wore very strange but noticeable cologne; --His relationship to the seat he occupied could only, very loosely, be described as “sitting;” --He looked angry; --He was wearing sunglasses. What Aubrey Thyme, a professional, thought, upon first seeing her new client was: you’re going to be a fun one, aren’t you?
Angel-Centered Therapy Through A Multicultural Lens
“I’d love to meet with you,” Davey said, apologetically, when he had been called up by a fellow looking to initiate therapy, “but I’m all booked up for months.” “Are you sure?” The fellow said, through a poor connection that crackled. Davey had been sure. And yet. Right there in his calendar was a blank spot, just a few days away, which he had somehow completely overlooked before. “How about that…I’ve got Wednesday at eleven, if you can make that work.” “What a miracle,” the fellow said, “that would be just the perfect time.”

Just read "Factory Settings" and it was such an incredible Good Omens fanfic! I really wish it wasn't authored by an anonymous account so that I could read more of this author's works. 😭 But regardless, I'm just glad I had the opportunity to read it and would recommend it to any other GO fans out there!
As a side note, another absolutely incredible Good Omens fic - that is similarly novel-length, centered more around Crowley, and very well written - that I read a little while ago and would HIGHLY recommend is Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm. Really can't recommend these two fics more!

do you guys remember when Aubrey Thyme asked Crowley "what do you think all this means?" and then Crowley said "It means that [Aziraphale's] my whole world" and then she said "Yes, and are you his whole world?" and then Crowley went "Yes, yes I am."
because I think about it a lot

Took the quiz and got a ridiculously accurate answer. As a teenager, I was blatantly queer-coded but it took me a long time, but I finally let a couple girls explore my sexuality more.
On another note, the last question just asks you to rant about your favourite fanfiction, and I felt like sharing becuase this just came out unplanned as I started typing and turned into something I want to remember:
My favourite fanfiction is one of those fanfictions that should really be published officially because it is doing so much more than just responding to the work, it is responding to the Christian God and to child abuse and to methods of expressing love and to the lack of good therapy representation in media. It has a really long title, but it is something along the lines of "Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Aproach to Trauma" and it is a Good Omens fanfiction told from the perspective of one of the best OC's I have ever found who is a therapist who gets a new patient, Crowley (formerly Crawly), the serpent fro mthe Garden of Eden who prevented the apocalypse with his only friend, the angel of the eastern gate. But the story is not epic in proportions. It is a close look at the gradual healing that can happen within a therapist's office and at the same time it is a story about counter-transference, because it is told from the therapist's eyes. And the therapist, interestingly, divulges so little of herself. It is sort of free indirect discourse, but the narrator seems to not be able to or not want to disclose certain details about Aubrey Thyme, the therapist. In fact, it would seem she is more defensive about letting you the reader in than her extremely defensive demon is about letting her in. But you get to know her, slowly and you come to love her. And it spoke ot me in so many ways. I am not religious, and I am not a Christian, but I have grown up in a Christian environment and I have so many thoughts and feelings because though I believe in nothing really, I feel deeply about spirituality and there are things that are beautifl about the Christian God and there are things I need to sort of perform a fix-it fanfiction on to keep those beautiful things beautiful and that is what Crowley does, I think, but it is not what Aubrey does. She just rejects it, and you see her do it, and it is breathtaking and she is a hero and I love her.
here's a quiz i made so you can learn what type of fanfic character flaw you would be <3333

Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach, a Good Omens fanfic by @mouseonamoose
After surviving the events of the apocalypse, Anthony J. Crowley goes to therapy. This fic is a well-researched and rich depiction of trauma therapy from the perspective of the mental health provider.
Bound in premium cotton from Worldcloth decorated with silver hot stamp foil and a hand painted foreedge. Frontispiece artwork generously provided by @rjrjrjrjrjrjrjrj. To enhance the reading experience, the typeset of this book was further annotated with additional commentary on the psychotherapeutic process (see footnote example.)
This book was bound and gifted to a fellow clinician in a different medical field as part of the @renegadeguild Mini Exchange, 2024.

I think it says a lot about good omens as a fandom that our most popular fic is 100k words of "Crowley goes to therapy". Like we all took one look at this sadwetpathetic demon and went "he's so mecore fr. Fix him"

After three weeks of almost obsessively working on this project I've finally completed it! @mouseonamoose amazing fanfic Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach (read it if you haven't already) is a hardcover book I can hold in my hands and put on my bookshelf now. It's not perfect, I made some mistakes, but I'm proud nonetheless:
Tumblr media
The headbands I made red and black on the top for everyone's favourite demon and the bottom I made white and gold because you can't have that demon without his favourite angel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how could I not think about Crowley and Aziraphale when I found this amazing design of the words demon/angel? I just had to put that on the end papers. I hope it's not only me who can see the word demon this side up and angel if you flip it on its head:

And here a bit more of the insides:

Thank you mouseonamoose, not only for writing this amazing story but also for inspiring me to pick up this hobby of bookbinding again. I can't wait to read it again now.

Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma.
The Tri-Phasic model of trauma consists of three healing phases:
1. Safety & Stability
2. Remembering & Grieving
3. Reconnecting & Integration
“She would sit here, with Crowley. She would sit, in compassionate honesty, with him. She would sit with him, for as long as he needed, as long as it took for him to feel safe enough to emerge from his cocoon.”
Inspired by the same name fanfic by Nnm on ao3, you can read it here:
Words cannot describe how much impact this beautiful fan-fiction has on me. It gave me the courage to pick up my own tree, one day it’ll become a forest too, just like Aubrey’s. Thank you.
