ive had this aquabats icon since 2011, when i was a high school sophomore, and occasionally i weigh my options

pros of changing my icon:

i only really listen to like 5 songs by the aquabats anymore, and i disliked spooky kooky enough that i still haven't listened to their latest album

its incomprehensible; people only know what it is (aquabat mascot faceplanting after tripping over an onion) after i explain it to them

i could be pronouns rhino over here. or a kiko... the world is my oyster

cons of changing my icon:

will confuse everyone who's followed me for a long time

it IS funny to me that my icon kind of sucks, and the longer i don't change it the funnier it gets

it has several nice shades of green in it. very soothing

even if i don't listen to their music as much anymore, i still really like Lil' Bat's design

i feel like the icon grants my blog a sort of casual, low stakes vibe that i appreciate

Casual analysis of graphic design and composition (ft. a bit of colour theory) since I’m a bit rusty and haven’t thought about them in a while

Hm? Some shots in Al-Haitham’s and Kaveh’s demos share a similar composition…

But it’s interesting that the more logical one uses informal symmetry in his character title card and the more emotional one uses formal symmetry… So many rectangles in Kaveh’s card (‘course it helps that hanzi characters are in squares)… It’s kinda surprising, but still it brings out the flow of the illustration well. (Of course, Chinese hanzi can be read horizontally or vertically, so they’ve more freedom in typography, but I bet they changed the graphic layout a bit for the English demo…)

hah, yeah, I thought so. See how Kaveh’s cape can’t frame the center boxes anymore, and how there’s no space to the right of the synopsis in the upper right, and most of all how the two squares on the bottom left is now a quarter of the original size, leaving an empty space there (though if they rotated the words vertically it could fit into the rectangular space well).

Al-Haitham’s English title card isn’t bad, per se, but they could’ve put some shadow on the left side of the illustration so the text could stand out, and move the three green lines to the right side a bit more, so not everything is slightly to the left side when there’s no reason to. (The negative space on the two sides in the Chinese version is roughly the same size.)

These two shots are both long shots that show the character’s full body, but Al-Haitham is in a slightly low angle, and Kaveh is eye-level with the “camera”

This one’s another low angle full shot with Al-Haitham’s lower body, with a bunch of analogous colours. Also this one’s background uses formal symmetry again (even reflecting off the ground) while the placement of the characters are in informal symmetry (the large image of Al-Haitham balances out the small figures near the fountain)

I was curious and decided to look up the meaning behind my name because I had never done so before and the result was well... rather uneventful until I scrolled a bit and saw one of google's recommended related searches being THIS

And I'm like holy shit that's hilarious, I'm gonna click that. Which led me to this website as the first result

That preview alone was utterly insane and enticing enough for me to click without a second thought and I was NOT ready for what I was about to find inside

I do not need to tell you that naming your child something is not going to turn them into a criminal later in life, unless your child is Hannibal Lecter specifically. But this website is so fucking serious about it and it tries to get you to contact their "experts" and stuff so that they can help you choose a "good" name for your child and I just have no words... they offer you no sources for these claims btw, source? trust us bro.

The meaning behind the name Adrian is far more simple and mundane, simply "son of Adria" but also supposedly can mean "rich". Only "evil" meaning I could find was one website claiming the name Adrian can mean "the dark one" and the source was a muslim baby names website?????

Anyways I shall from now onwards be referred to only as "the dark one" or "lord of darkness" or "your evilness" I take no other nicknames.

Red Riding Hood and the Little Bad Wolf, as the name may suggest, is a little game inspired by the tale of Little Red Riding Hood in its various versions, from Perrault to Grimms, from Calvino to not-so-dressed ladies at the mercy of fierce giant-pawed wolves.

Or something like that.

«A young man with a red hood wants to visit his grandmother who lives on the other side of the forest.

A young wolf girl wants to eat a young human and the best way to do it is to lure them deep into the woods.

The young man with the red hood asks for a guide and the young wolf girl volunteers. If only the young man with the red hood wasn't so suspicious...»

I've been working on this game since 2019, it's time to release! ... At least the demo, that's it. I think the total length of the game will be about two or three hours. Meanwhile, here are the first thirty minutes/one hour.
