It's the summer of Selan finishing their WIPs, and I bring to you, this dumb Pickle Inspector RPG Maker game I made MANY years ago.
It's slightly unfinished, but in a way that it's still fully playable, so I figured I'd just drop it onto my itch.io and let y'all have at it.
Play as Pickle Inspector, who has found himself in a strange dream world where he must smooch someone or die. The catch: every option is a copy of himself. Chat up Past-Future Pickle Inspector, Godhead Pickle Inspector, Nervous Broad, and Pernicious Innovator to get a smooch... or die!
Or perhaps... find a secret fifth option?????
There are six endings in total, including the bad end. Try and find them all!!
And if you're wondering about the DimensioNoir game: the goal is to release it sometime in the last two weeks of July. Look forward to it!!

At long, long last, the Wishbone Summer Year 1 Public Beta is COMPLETE! Download it here!
For those who haven't been following the project: Wishbone is a character drama-slash-farming sim game that takes place in a wild west-inspired setting. The player takes the role of a farmer, fresh off the wagon in a new town and tasked with building a successful ranch. The town of Wishbone might seem sleepy and mundane--albeit full of weirdos--at first, but there’s trouble brewing on the horizon: a fierce, prolonged standoff between the lawmen and the outlaws that will decide the fate of the town itself.
The Summer Year 1 beta represents a complete vertical slice of the first 25% of the final game. It contains around 10-20 hours of playtime, depending on how thorough you are.

Hiya everyone! Long time, no see~!! >w</ I hope everyone's been doing well! And it sure has been ages since I posted on here. Just wanted to share some new art, since Träumerei is likely going to end late 2025, early 2026.
Once Träumerei is complete, I'm switching over my focus to "Death & the Saintess" (Featuring the two characters in the second image). 'Saintess' Milagros Santana & the last remaining Philippine death god, "Diwata."
I don't have time to make RPGMs these days. It'll be a novel, but if all goes well, I might try to draw a Webtoon version of "Death & the Saintess." The entire plot was outlined in-depth from start to finish, and it'll be much, much shorter than Träumerei.

today i will be showing how i take a map from 0 to 1

I start here... the humble blank room. I already did all the boring stuff like laying down the lines and filling the floor a long time ago and I'm not gonna redo it but basically grids are your friend. Know the tile size and how tiles are laid out, it's absolutely crucial for smooth map making...

Using the power of my grid and also assets from other already finished maps, I start to pack as much space as possible with shapes. I try not to make too many pinch points, I want the player to be able to reach most places without issue. I also make sure to draw all my furniture on a new layer instead of directly onto the wall/floor layer.

After some time, I filled in all the colors and did my simple shading. In terms of detail, I always tell myself "do whatever you want". If I feel like it needs more, I'll give it more. Now that the map is ready, I use my grid to capture tiles that I want to appear 'above' the player for that 3d layering effect. I put them on their own document and set everything up. Now I'm done! I'll just playtest to get a feel for my new space and...

I don't like it. Sometimes too-strict adherence to the grid makes things look downright bad. Thankfully, I put all my furniture on its own layer so moving things is easy. I'll move some of the pieces around and change the way I think about the 3d objects. Unfortunately, for a character that's 2 tiles tall, I can't have any 3d layering on objects that are less than 3 tiles tall, otherwise their heads get chopped off.

You can barely tell the difference here besides the couch, but in-game, it's like night and day. But one last thing.

Clutter and garbage. Honestly, I feel like it still needs more. But I've run out of ideas of what to put. Maybe a small shelf by the couch, maybe a bookshelf in place of the garbage can on the diagonal wall. And every shitty breakroom needs a vending machine. It also looks especially empty with no people there.

"Cold headed suit" This is TRAVELIN' SHOES, the Close-Range Speed Stand, and the 9th of the 18 Stands your main character can play!
Travellin' Shoes is the sole suit stand out of the 18 playable MC stands, and has the ability to utilise 7 different modes that each allows the user to "escape" a physical law for a brief 10 second period: Gravity (no longer linking the user to the ground), Entropy (Causing energy to build up inside the user), Resistance (Turning the user intangible), Refraction (Turning the user invisible), Friction (Allowing the user to move unrestrained by resistance), Inertia (Making the user an immovable object that stays still no matter what), and Time (Stopping everything, although the user cannot move, just think). Each of these abilities is immensely powerful on its own, let alone combined with the others, but the user must rely on being able to properly time which mode they can briefly access.
Travellin' Shoes' greatest gift to its user is "Mobility". Throughout the adventure, you will always be given an opportunity to be more mobile, whether it be through the ability to run away or get to a better location in story encounters, or to access certain locations of the map that only Travellin' Shoes-aided parkour can reach. In combat, each of its Modes is represented in a short but powerful buff, making control of timing which perfect one to use the centre of its gameplay.

Late on this one, oops! I've been... really really busy. Just totally slammed by work and life and stuff these last couple months, but sneaking in work on these very important cowboys where I can...
Currently working on implementing a bighuge quest starring Mayor North! Only the final (fairly long) scene remains.
Not a whole lot else to report, but I am really hoping that after this next week things start to clear up a little and I can get back into my "working on Wishbone" groove again!

tube noodles is a game about having a little guy inside your stomach that tells you to do bad stuff!

i'm a freelance animator and i made this game on my free time when i was working on a particularly stressful project. i remember weeks in which the only thing i ate was cup noodles, because it was cheap and easy to make. i thought "the monster in my belly aches for cup noodles... huh that's something" and decided that this was a simple enough concept for my first game.

it's funny how creating stuff for yourself can get you out of a funk. i remember asking myself if animation was for me and if i was even a good artist, because i was so tired and all i could think about was the project. then when i took sometime to write this silly story, it suddenly felt obvious to me that, yes, i am an artist because i feel happiest when i'm creating. it was very healing.

i see so many mistakes in this game now (months after it's been released) but i try not to think about it.
the soundtrack is especially grating to me, not only because i listened to it over and over and over, but because i insisted on writing my own music, instead of finding something for free. because i want to be good at writing music at some point (i don't play any instruments) so i have to keep trying, even if they come out bad in the beginning.

one thing i am very proud of in this game is the graphics. i think they look cool :)
