At long, long last, the Wishbone Summer Year 1 Public Beta is COMPLETE! Download it here!
For those who haven't been following the project: Wishbone is a character drama-slash-farming sim game that takes place in a wild west-inspired setting. The player takes the role of a farmer, fresh off the wagon in a new town and tasked with building a successful ranch. The town of Wishbone might seem sleepy and mundane--albeit full of weirdos--at first, but there’s trouble brewing on the horizon: a fierce, prolonged standoff between the lawmen and the outlaws that will decide the fate of the town itself.
The Summer Year 1 beta represents a complete vertical slice of the first 25% of the final game. It contains around 10-20 hours of playtime, depending on how thorough you are.

I remembered my old abandoned RPG Maker project about Kris and Spamton having a silly Undertale-type hangout event. You were supposed to poke around in his shop for a bit, then you try going somewhere to eat, get kicked out into the alleyway and finally Spamton tries to at least teach Kris to scam people
I only ever got the shop location done and drew the background for a cyber cafe. I think I would've had a greater chance of completing the game if I planned it out beforehand instead of working on locations in chunks. But i still find having made a playable something to be pretty neat. I'd love to make a proper little utdr fangame someday :] Highlights:

rpg maker vx ace is only free for another 25 hours!!!! if you want to make stupid and bad shit like this or maybe think you MIGHT want to fuck around with rpgmaker someday then i would recommend getting this!! i dont know how it compares to other engines but i can definitely say ive been having fun with it
info about the clip:
farmer sprites made by my friend clockman. i dont know if he has a tumblr or not
the pinkman joke probably wasnt that funny but it was one of my earliest ideas. i wanted to experiment with how to go about implementing a second party member and my thought process was "oh a pink man, to go along with the blue test character! a pink man. much like the boy from walting white."
i made almost all the visuals here! all character sprites (minus the farmer), all the tilesets, the battle background, also the shitty border around the text. i only didnt do the icons for PINKBLAST and FARMER'S DELIGHT. also the tileset for the first few seconds while i talk to TAXI is the default one, i didnt make it
all music is mine, aside from the victory jingle. i'm not experienced in making music so i only did stupid dinky little loops
this isn't gonna be a game if it wasnt obvious. this is me trying to figure out what i'm capable of creating. its also for making funny clips to show my friends.
this room is the most complicated thing ive ever managed to make in rpgmaker and its honestly very simple
i didnt know trying to use FORCEFEM in the overworld would make a sparkly little sound effect. i didnt tell it to do that. it cracked me up so bad

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT IT'S REALLLL FNAFB IS BACK!!!!!!
This was such a good experience from start to finish, holy shit it was SO GOOD!!! Toy Freddy is such a funny character so getting more of him was so amazing and the combat felt so interesting to experience along with the QTE graveyard minigame being so fucking funny.
Also fucking Caillou????? It was so crazy to see someone like HIM show up in the game, and even crazier to see him driving the DeLorean!!!! This was such a good experience and I might end up dying when the full game comes out.

"Cold headed suit" This is TRAVELIN' SHOES, the Close-Range Speed Stand, and the 9th of the 18 Stands your main character can play!
Travellin' Shoes is the sole suit stand out of the 18 playable MC stands, and has the ability to utilise 7 different modes that each allows the user to "escape" a physical law for a brief 10 second period: Gravity (no longer linking the user to the ground), Entropy (Causing energy to build up inside the user), Resistance (Turning the user intangible), Refraction (Turning the user invisible), Friction (Allowing the user to move unrestrained by resistance), Inertia (Making the user an immovable object that stays still no matter what), and Time (Stopping everything, although the user cannot move, just think). Each of these abilities is immensely powerful on its own, let alone combined with the others, but the user must rely on being able to properly time which mode they can briefly access.
Travellin' Shoes' greatest gift to its user is "Mobility". Throughout the adventure, you will always be given an opportunity to be more mobile, whether it be through the ability to run away or get to a better location in story encounters, or to access certain locations of the map that only Travellin' Shoes-aided parkour can reach. In combat, each of its Modes is represented in a short but powerful buff, making control of timing which perfect one to use the centre of its gameplay.
